Murmurs of Flourishing Blossoms - Chapter 1
Season: Winter
Characters: Kaoru, Mika, Tatsumi, Midori, Arashi, Koga, Hiiro, Shinobu
Translator: taiyaki-translations
<One day in late January, inside the ES Building>
Tumblr media
Kaoru: Hope everyone's doing well... Or um, if you're not, that's okay too...?
(Honestly, why am I so nervous? I’m going overseas with Anzu-chan soon, but it’s just normal work so I don’t need to be so tense.)
Sorry, sorry, I didn’t mean to make a mistake right at the beginning. Hm? It’s better than making a mistake in the middle of the shoot and having to start over again?
Haha, that’s true. Then, let’s hurry and start filming again.
Tumblr media
Yahoo~ Good morning everyone, I’m UNDEAD’s Hakaze Kaoru. Surely us meeting like this is a pleasant surprise for you~?
All of you in front of the screen probably have a lot of questions, but let’s keep up the mystery for a little longer. For now, just follow along—
As you can see, this is the ES Building that was built to support idols and is home to some well known agencies.
When I just graduated, there was a sense of freshness in working here as a professional, but unfortunately, I seem to spend more time doing jobs outside. I came here again today for overseas work.
I’m really looking forward to experiencing the charms of different countries. What will be the destination of this trip and which idols will be accompanying me? You’ll find out soon ♪
Tumblr media
Kaoru: Haha, was that opening okay~? There was a small hiccup at the beginning, but I think we got enough material.
Now it’s time to film the gathering scene of the idols. It seems both Takamine-kun and Kagehira-kun are a bit shy, so I’ll need to work twice as hard as a reliable senpai who often appears on variety shows.
Of course, Anzu-chan, you can also rely on me as much as you want. It’s relatively easy for us to finish the filming, but since you’ll also be preparing for the exhibition overseas, you have to make sure you get enough rest.
Tumblr media
The exhibition that that photographer asked us to model for is the same one you’re preparing for, right?
A large exhibition held in Paris every year, where various works of art, including fashion and photography, are gathered in one place… You can say it’s a recent hot topic in the fashion and art worlds.
So you want to go there to show the world the charm of idols? Haha, that’s just like you, Anzu-chan.
<Meanwhile...>
Tumblr media
Arashi: Mika-chan, I prepared a travel skincare set for you. Jet lag or environmental changes can easily affect your skin. You have an important photoshoot, so don’t forget to use it.
Mika: Ngah~
Arashi: Are you listening properly? Don’t get too excited thinking about seeing your Oshi-san.
Phew, it can’t be helped. I can’t stand the thought of you ruining your face, so I’ll send you a message to remind you later.
Tumblr media
Koga: Why is that guy not here yet? How long does it take to film an opening?
Tatsumi: Koga-san seems to really care for his unitmates. You knew that Kaoru-san would be here so you came to see him off, right?
Koga: Ha? Aren’t ya my roommate? Can’t it be me wantin’ to see you off?
Hiiro: The other two members of ALKALOID were busy and couldn’t come, but I’m really happy that I’m able to see off Tatsumi-senpai together with Oogami-senpai! Next time we go for a drive with Tatsumi-senpai, let’s invite Oogami-senpai too!
Tumblr media
Midori: I’m so depressed… I wanna die…
Shinobu: Midori-kun, you haven’t even left yet and you’re already wilting! Come on, cheer up!
Midori: Ugh… I’m nervous about going abroad, my social battery is drained, and the atmosphere around me is so intense, it feels like the spirit of Morisawa-senpai is right next to me…
Shinobu: Please don’t call Morisawa-dono a ghost. Morisawa-dono will be frightened.
Midori: Huh? That’s the part you’re commenting on? Oh, Anzu-san is here.
Tumblr media
Kaoru: It’s really lively in here. Is everyone packed? The interview segment is starting soon ♪
Koga: The way you’re talkin’ is really gross. We ain’t little kids, why are you talkin’ all gently?
Hiiro: Hmm? Oogami-senpai, earlier you were asking when Kaoru-senpai was coming. Why are you so mad at him now?
Arashi: Ufufu, that’s just how boys are.
Anyway, it looks like filming is going to start soon. Mika-chan, do your best~
Mika: Nnah~ Anzu-chan, are you startin’ with me? What’s the most important thing I’m bringin’ ?
The only thing that I can think of right now is that skincare set Naru-chan kept talkin’ about earlier…
Tumblr media
Oh right, I brought along a gift fer Oshi-san! ‘Cause I'm goin’ this time fer work, I probably can't stay fer long, so I haven't told Oshi-san about it yet. Maybe I can give him a nice surprise…!
Midori: The most important thing for me is… probably my mascot characters. If I don’t get healing from them, I might die on the plane…
Tatsumi: Fufu, I recently received a “traffic safety” amulet* from my unitmates in ALKALOID, but I didn’t think it would come in handy so soon. This is probably the last thing I would want to lose during my trip.
Midori: (Eh? That amulet… I don’t think that was the reason why they gave it…)
Tumblr media
Hiiro: Umu, if Tatsumi-senpai needs more, we can definitely give you as many as you like! How about putting one in your car?
Midori: (It would probably be better to leave it in the car. I think both the driver himself and his passengers will definitely need it…)
Shinobu: Oho, I think Midori-kun’s face is quite expressive, it's interesting to look at.
Kaoru: Hmm… If you want to go abroad, things like your passport and wallet are more important than anything else. In that sense, I’m a practical person.
Koga: I thought you’d say somethin’ like “Of course, the most important thing is myself.” If you had said that, I’d have been angry.
Tumblr media
Kaoru: Aww, Koga-kun’s being awfully clingy today. Is it perhaps… me going overseas is making Wan-chan feel lonely?
Koga: Who gives a crap about you!?
Tatsumi: Haha, you all get along well. In any case, we are going to an unfamiliar place, so it will be safer if we stay together as a group.
Arashi: That’s right. Everyone, take care of yourselves, okay? Otherwise, I’ll worry…
*Japanese amulets (or omamori) can usually be bought from Shinto shrines or Buddhist temples and are said to give various forms of good luck and protection if you keep it on your person. Usual types of omamori include ones that promote wealth or good health, helping one get good grades, helping one find love, and of course, traffic safety.

Corey Cunningham X Female Reader
Smut Warning, NSFW
Oct 23, 2022
Walking downtown alone was nobody's favorite thing, there was no one around and Haddonfield had an eerie vibe as usual. Walking alone made it worse, luckily there was someone else so in the hope of safety you tried to stay behind them. You were listening to music which caused a little bit of confusion. The man turned around locking eyes with you and before you could get a word in
"What? huh? Do you think I'm Crazy too? 'Kid killer' you scared. What are you here to bring me to the fucking police?" *His yelling made you tense just a little bit*
a little frightened and confused you smiled
"I'm sorry there must be a mistake I just didn't want to be alone, and you looked like you'd protect me"
"Oh, I'm I like ugh"-He let out a big sigh
"I'm sorry, a lot has just been going on right now" he leaned against the rail
"No I get that" you chuckled trying to lighten the air
"anyway, What's your name? I'm sure you already know my name..."
"(Y/N) it's just a family name"
"(Y/N?) that's a pretty name"
As the rain poured cars drove by causing one of them to splash the both of you, Corey raised his head "you've gotta be fucking kidding me, follow me"
"Oh, you want me to stay?"
"Well" He smiled "the choice is yours"
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Wow, this place is nice, but isn't this-"
"yes, right here. This is where it happened" Corey pointed to a red stain on the floor.
"oh wow" not sure of what to say you tried to not focus on it.
"Sooooo, What do you wanna do?"
"I'm not sure, to be honest," Corey smiled at you.
*This made you a little flustered*
You lay down in what looks to be the old living room, wrapping yourself tightly in the sweater you were wearing.
"you look cold, let me help." Without much thought Corey situated himself right beside you tugging on your sweater slightly, you backed up without thinking much of it.
"What are you doing?" you questioned him
"Warming you up" he shot you that nervy smile again
"I see"
You pulled out you're phone and started to text your mom telling her you'll be home later than you thought, but she didn't answer. Corey snuggled in closer to you, he felt like a giant teddy bear wrapping his arms around you snugly.
"Are you sure about this?" You nervously chuckled
"Sure about what?" He looked at you confused
"Like, what um are you sure you wanna do-"He grabbed your face and sandwiched both of your lips together interlocking as you nervously jumped back a little, his mouth was warm and felt soft. Feeling less guilty you kissed him back hard and started to wrap your hands around him. He placed his hand around your throat slightly. You guided him, it felt so good. As he pushed his tongue deeper into your mouth you smiled and he felt it causing Corey to Laugh.
"Don't stop now" He said locking eyes once again
"Here let me fix this" You pretended to be confident in what you were gonna do, climbing on top of his lap slightly, you felt him get sweaty suddenly. He was hard. This made you squeeze your legs together. Corey was nervous as well and suddenly started to apologize.
"It's okay silly" you smiled, Griding against his tight blue jeans and leaning back in to kiss him he kissed back, Corey let out a sigh
"that, that, feels like really good." He pushed his glasses up.
Getting off him made your body ache to feel his touch again.
You unbuckled his jeans, revealing his white little Briefs. He nervously shook a little bit as you began to rub through them. You could feel the heat radiating off his throbbing crotch, He started to whimper ever so slightly.
"How's that feel Corey?" He didn't even respond, tugging off his briefs made Corey let out a little gasp this made you laugh, wow he was so nervous. Corey was whimpering clearly at this point submitting to you, His cock sprang out of his briefs as you tugged them off. It was a decent size with a rosy pink head. You had to stop yourself from saying awe.
Without hesitating you put Corey's dick in your mouth, sucking slightly on his head. He looked at you wide-eyed in shock. You were his first time and man were you doing good according to his face. You rubbed up and down his shaft squeezing near the base of his dick, to get him to let out a little moan. He throbbed in your hand making you wet.
"(Y/N) That f-feels like like uh so good, please don't stop, Yea yea"
He was painting for you at this point.
Taking Corey's boner out of your mouth, you began to slide off your pants and lacey underwear. Causing him to get even more excited. As your underwear slid off, he smiled and started to rub his fingers around you. Completely missing your clit.
"No, idiot like this" You grabbed his fingers and put them on your clit, "Just rub up and down"
He tried his best, but he was having a hard time.
Trying to impress you, Corey stuck his fingers rough into your hole, you were wet enough that it didn't hurt.
"Corey oh my god, wait, wait too fast"
He fingered you harder than you've ever been fingered before, "Fucccckkkk" you let out a massive sigh his hands were huge for such a big nerd. As you straddled his lap you could feel his cock twitching against your leg, Trying to ignore it was hard for the both of you so without thinking you pulled his big muscley hands out and straightened out his dick and slowly lined it up with your hole. Corey's cock sliding in your pussy was pure bliss, especially without a condom on that was the least of your worries right now. As his dick slid in and out of you it felt so good both of you could barely talk it felt so good and not to mention how big he was, he felt even bigger balls deep inside you.
As he thrust into you it made you feel more numb with every stroke he almost hit your
G-spot, he was teasing you without even knowing his slow virgin thrust was not enough anymore so you grabbed him by the shoulders and started bouncing up and down on him hard. Every time you slammed down on him, Corey let out a moan his dick was pulsing and it almost felt like he was gonna cum already. The stupid virgin boy could barely last 3 minutes. Once you took charge his cock head began pushing against your G-spot with every thrust. It was fucking amazing and Corey was clearly about to cum but in denial
"You gonna cum for me?" The more you teased him, the closer he got to finishing.
"C'mon Corey cum for me, let me feel it" you bit your tongue at him as you pushed down for the last time, you pulled his cock out of your pussy, and as ropes shot out of his cock you pushed it back inside you trying to not to get pregnant but still wanting to feel his warm load.
"Corey that is so much fucking cum"
"I, uh- ugh ahg" He was stuttering like a stupid virgin again.
"Corey you just came inside me."

— DAY 10 ; HAUNTED HOUSE tokyo revengers men x reader
ft. takashi mitsuya, hajime kokonoi, seishu inui, chifuyu matsuno
cw. suggestive language (in both cursing and dirty talk way (that’s for koko only))
a/n. it’s all gn!reader except for koko
KINK/FLUFFTOBER
❧ takashi finally had a free day when he didn’t need to join toman nor babysit his sister and he decided to spend that day with you. since you were near halloween, you both decided to do halloween themed stuff. at the moment, you were waiting in a line so it could he your turn to get in. there was no one in front of you left.
“don’t worry, you can cling over me” your boyfriend said noticing how nervous you looked. “huh? nah, i’m not scared” you said with a smile. “mhm, we’ll see about that” he replies as you get your tickets check from the man and go in. for now it was all good, there was just some creepy stuff around like heads hanging, skeletons, spider webs, etc.
suddenly, you stepped on something then looked down to see it was a spider. you trembled and as you looked up, a clown came down right on your face. you let out a scream and quickly hugged your boyfriend. the lilac haired chuckles and said “see, you did get scared” then he smiles at you. “it’s as if you planned all this…” you grumbled annoyed.
——
❧ you were pulling hajime everywhere in the halloween party. you wanted to try everything with him. “hey koko, let’s go in that haunted house!” you said excited. “ugh, no, you’re gonna make my ears bleed” he grumbles out of energy. “are you saying i’m a pussy?” you asked offended. “yes, i’m saying you’re a pussy. and i’d rather be having your pussy right now than doing those dumb stuff” he replies rolling his eyes.
“pervert” you reply making him sigh. “fine, let’s go then” he says which makes you smile. you pull him towards it and both go in. it was nothing new to you, it’s the same things as every haunted house got. but then, suddenly something wrapped it’s arms around you and you let out a little scream. you looked down that it was just an automatic skeleton thingy that will hug your leg as soon as you walk past it.
“that scared the living shit out me” you said making your boyfriend chuckle. “i did say you’re a pussy” he says with a shrug. “oh fuck off” you reply annoyed. “no” he said then pulled out his tongue.
——
❧ seishu was following you around like a little puppy following their master, or more like a babysitter following around the kid they are babysitting. a haunted house then suddenly picked your interest. “sei, let’s go there!” you said as you pulled him along with yourself. “you’re gonna get scared…” he mumbles as he watches you walk toward the entrance.
“but that’s the whole point of a haunted house right?” you asked with a smile on the face. he sighed and followed you in. at the start, it was all alright until you heard a scream. that caught of you off guard and make you scream letting yourself fall on seishu. the man slowly blinks and looks at you.
“are you okay?” he awkwardly asks. “yeah, huh, sorry” you mumbled an apology then got off him. he got up and waited for you to get up. noticing how you were just worriedly looking around, he sighs and gives you his hand. “here” he says as he helps you up. you smile and grab his hand. “thanks” you reply as you get up.
——
❧ chifuyu was the one suggesting you to go in a haunted house, but the second you got in, he was the one that was trembling. and if you were to be honest, you were too. you were holding onto each other, completely frightened. suddenly the candles turn and everything turns black. your eyes widen and chifuyu says “i’m scared”
“me t-” you said but got caught off by something getting placed on your shoulder which causes you to tell out a loud scream. hearing your scream, chifuyu also lets out one. you both hug each other frightened only to hear a familiar voice say “jeez you two calm down” some light gets put on both your faces.
as you tried to guess who was the one talking, they put the flashlight under their chin which makes them have a creepy look. chifuyu and you once again scream only to realize it’s kazutora. “you scared the living shit out of me” you said punching the man’s shoulder. “yeah! you scared my poor little kitty” chifuyu said crossing his arms. “(y/n) is not a cat chifuyu…” kazutora mumbled with a sigh.

James ‘Moe’ Alley x nurse Jenny OC - Headcannons - Part 5.
wooooooooohoo part 5, sorry for the slow updates I’ve been quite busy, but with summer coming things should calm down :) this part is going to explore when Easy go to war, and how they cope with the strain it puts on not only themselves, but everybody around them.
Tumblr media
Ugh so the dreaded D Day finally comes. It’s equally as horrifying and daunting for both Jenny and Moe. I think he’d find himself wanting to be near her at all times before they’re shipped off, holding her hand, holding her arm or shoulders.
he tried to persuade her to become a nurse at home or in England on more than a few occasions, but she has to assure him that she can’t and won’t leave Easy, and she’ll be okay.
I think it’s the fact that they can’t even expect the unexpected because what can you expect when you have no idea what war is?
The nurses would probably be sent in on a ship into Europe before the men all land in Normandy. I think Jenny would find herself, alongside all the other nurses, extremely out of their depth, especially on Omaha beach.
the causalities are traumatic, there’s more blood loss and death than Jenny could’ve dreamed. She very quickly comes to realise that all her training is nothing until she actually experiences treating wounded men out there.
When Moe lands, it’s rough. He crashes into a wall that’s embedded with glass and gets pretty cut up. Luckily, he’s alive and not bleeding to bad. He’s nervous wreck, when there’s so much gunfire and artillery surrounding him, he questions how the hell is Jenny is coping with all of this?
is she safe? Is she in a hospital? Moe hoped and prayed in the days that he Rogers and Mcclung looked for Easy, that he’d stumble upon her. He has to remain focused however, in order to not land another injury.
when they reunite James let’s put the biggest breath of relief, almost falling to his knees, exhausted as she runs over, holding him tight.
It’s so worrying seeing him hurt and all bashed up, Jenny starts crying when she notices his injuries, he’s limping and not steady on his feet.
Moe gets all teary eyed seeing her cry against his chest. They can’t openly show much PDA, especially when the CO’s are around, so he has to settle for a quick hug which leaves him feeling extremely unsatisfied.
“Don’t cry, Jen. I’m not hurt bad.” He’d whisper and she’d wipe her tears away so discreetly so nobody else could see. Her priority is making sure he’s okay and all patched up perfectly, so she manages to find some time just to take care of him.
they’d have a playful little argument about him needing rest, but he doesn’t see Jenny smile once, not until he grabs her face and kisses her, shielded in the privacy of the small make shift aid station.
of course she smiles after that kinda move.
but it’s scary, for the first few months there’s so many small encounters between the pair, but they can’t spend a whole lot of time together and it’s frustrating, but war is demanding.
one of the times they get to spend together is when they’re finally sent to France on a weekend pass. They’re about to be shipped back to England, thank god, so Moe’s in high spirits, practically skipping to where Jenny is sat. He’s got flowers and Alton looted a little bracelet he could gift her.
but instead he finds her sat crying on the step, overlooking the city, his face immediately drops. Moe drops the flowers to the floor and sits down besides her with a gentle “hey”.
they’d understand all too well how frightening it is, and nurses in WW2 I feel like aren’t recognised enough. I think Jenny would struggle at first, the way the war has altered her mind is scary and James can relate to her.
they’d be soooo good for each other. Moe would end up picking back up all the flowers and handing her the little present which would make any girl BAWL even harder.
When they’re back home in England, they’d go out on sooo many dates, relieved to feel safe.
but then I feel like something like a cork being pushed out of a wine bottle would make James so startled he has to leave the pub they’re in.
He doesn’t want to seem weak or upset in front of Jen so he hurries out as quick as possible, but she’d pull him into a big hug, despite him being a lot taller, and calm him down from his panicked state.
i think despite there being so much tension and trauma because of the war, the two would really be sooo good for each other, and Moe really needs a girl like Jenny there for him, who’d listen to him and support him and he can do the same for her.
I don’t think he’d be the best at words, but just sitting besides Jen and hugging her close would be so so so so sweet. Like omg, he just sits with his head hung watching her with puppy eyes as he rubs her back whenever she’s upset.
Fml he’s such a gentle lover. I love him.

Floating
Pairing: Bruno Madrigal/Reader Rating: Teen Warnings: sexual innuendo, kissing, swearing, sexual shame/embarrassment Words: 1.9K
Summary: Young Bruno spends the afternoon at the river with his best friend, but hides his true feelings for her.
.
also on AO3
.
I blame @weshallbegolden for this.
.
Tumblr media
“We Madrigals were not made for water.”
You scoff and roll your eyes at him. “I’m not even saying go swimming—just wading.”
“But the current could carry us away!”
“Bruno, do you see this current?” You toss a leaf into the water and point as it lazily drifts by. “I think we’ll be fine.”
He sits back down on the ground and sulks, hating that you even dragged him out of the casita today.
You know it’s no good trying to push him—he’s like a skittish alley cat that you have to ignore to get him to come closer and eat out of your hand. “I’m going to get in the water—I’m too damn hot.”
When you step out of your skirt, Bruno freezes, every muscle in his body suddenly on hold. But when you pull off your shirt, he blinks rapidly and begins to sweat.
“You can join me or not, but I’m telling you that the water is going to feel soooo good!” With a yelp, you throw yourself into the cool river.
After dipping under the water, you re-emerge and fling your hair back. Bruno swallows hard and can’t tear his eyes away from the sight of your underthings clinging to your body. He folds his hands over his lap so you won’t see the tightness in his trousers.
Lying down on your back, you close your eyes and just let yourself float. All you hear is the muffled sound of the gentle current in your submerged ears. After a few minutes, your feet bump into something and you shriek, splashing as you struggle to stand up.
Bruno is standing in the water, his trousers and shirt left on the bank. Looking down at you, he says, “You’re right—the water is nice.”
Smiling, you take his hands and start leading him further into the water. A blush spreads across his cheeks and chest, which you take for fear. “It’s okay, Bruno—would your best friend let anything bad happen to you?”
“My only friend,” he grumbles.
“Your only best friend wants you to be safe and to stop sweating so much.”
He follows you into the water until it’s up to his chest, then stops. You let go of him and dip under the water again. Bruno watches you, mesmerized by both your fearlessness and by the way your body moves in the water.
When you stick your head out again, you take a mouthful of water and spit it at Bruno.
“Ugh! Stop it!” He takes a step back and slips on the rocks under his feet. You reach out, grabbing his arm to keep him from falling. Shaking, he clings to you, arms around your neck.
“Hey, it’s okay! I’m sorry!”
Bruno mumbles about you trying to drown him.
“You can just stand up, you know; the water’s not that deep here.”
Suddenly Bruno is keenly aware of how much of his skin is against yours. You realize this at the same time and you both shyly move apart.
You clear your throat. “Do you want to learn how to swim?”
He shakes his head. “But… can you teach me how to float?”
The biggest smile appears on your face. “Yes! Floating is amazing—you’re going to love it.”
After demonstrating for him, you ask him to lie back in the water. “I’m going to be holding onto you, but if you feel nervous remember that you can just put your feet back down and stand up, okay?”
“O-okay.” He takes a deep breath and slowly lets his upper half drift back. When his feet leave the bottom, he lets out a frightened squeal, but you hold onto his shoulder.
“I’ve got you—just let your feet come up.” You move one hand under his back and one to his knees. In a moment he is dipping up and down in the water. “Push your stomach up and let your arms go wide.”
He does, and the feeling of weightlessness overcomes him. It’s unlike anything he’s experienced before—it feels like all his worries drift away on the slow current. No visions, no disappointment, no yelling—he only feels the water and your hands on him.
You watch as a look of peacefulness takes over Bruno’s face. He even closes his eyes for a few moments. You think he deserves this—life hasn’t been easy for your friend and you only wish you could take some of his cares away, even just for an afternoon.
Finally he turns his head towards you so one ear is out of the water. “This is amazing.”
“Let’s go to the waterfall,” you whisper.
His eyes get wide. “It’s too deep over there.”
“Just for a little bit, then it gets shallow again. I’ll pull you along while you float, okay? I’ve always wanted to see what’s behind it.”
He had never thought about going behind a waterfall, but he can tell how excited you are. “Don’t let go.”
“Never.” You move until you’re by his head and hook your hands under his armpits. Floating underneath him, you gently kick your feet to start you both upriver.
Bruno keeps his eyes on the sky, watching the clouds and treetops gradually glide by. He tries not to think about you being so close, but he blushes at the thought anyway.
It doesn’t take long to reach the small waterfall, the sound of it filling your ears even underwater. You let go of Bruno and he flounders for a moment before you help him stand up in the now shallow water.
“We made it!” he yells.
You take his hand. “Ready?” Without waiting for an answer, you pull him straight through the falling water.
Bruno screams as the water covers him. Sputtering, unable to see anything, he hears you laughing. Gently you move the curls out of his eyes and all he sees is your face. He holds his breath at your closeness and the way your eyes seem to shine.
“Bruno, look!” You turn his head to look at the back of the falls. Though it’s sunny, the water blocks out much of the light. But as you watch the water falling, streaks of sunlight peek through, making it seem as if the water is sparkling.
“Wow,” Bruno whispers.
Putting your arms around his waist, you pull him in for a hug. “I’m glad you came with me.”
“You could probably talk me into anything.”
“Uh oh, now that I know that I’m going to get you in soooo much trouble!” You laugh, pushing the hair out his face again.
Smiling, he does the same for you. But after tucking a strand of hair behind your ear, he lets his palm rest on your cheek. Suddenly everything is quiet for you both—no water or animal songs, just the sound of each other’s breath.
Bruno leans in quickly and presses his lips to yours. Overcome with surprise, you stand stock still. When he moves away, all he sees is the shock on your face. His smile vanishes and he suppresses a sob as he launches himself through the waterfall again.
“Bruno! Wait!” You race after him, but when you emerge through the water, he’s gone. Panicked, you turn every which way until you finally look down. In the deep part of the river, you catch a glimpse of fingers reaching up before disappearing again.
Quickly you dive into the water, swimming as fast as you can. With your eyes open under the water, you can see Bruno struggling. You grab his arms and drag him to the shallower water. Hooking your arms under his armpits, you pull him to standing. He sputters and coughs and can’t find his footing.
Eventually you get him to the riverbank and help him lie down. “Hey, it’s okay, Brunito. Breathe…” You place a hand on his chest as you sit beside him.
His face is wet from the water, so it takes you a moment to see the tears flowing down his cheeks. Bruno sees you notice and he turns his face away from you. “Don’t look at me, please…” He can’t bear to see your face, knowing you’ll hate him now like everyone else. You’ll never again smile at him or laugh at his jokes, never again hold his hand while running through the street. You’re the only good thing he has and he’s destroyed it by being selfish.
Seeing him in pain breaks your heart, as always. Pressing your forehead against his temple, you say his name over and over.
“No…” He tries to shake you off. “I’ve ruined everything.”
“Look at me, Bruno.” You place a hand on his cheek and gently turn his head. His eyes are closed and he shakes his head. So you capture his lips with yours.
This time he’s the one overtaken by surprise. His eyes pop open and he just stares as you pull away and smile at him. “I… you…”
“I thought you’d never kiss me. I didn’t know if you wanted to…” You look down, your face heating up.
“I always want to kiss you.”
You look up again. “Really?”
He nods and sits up, taking both your hands. “I just figured you wouldn’t want to. I didn’t want to ruin our friendship—I don’t know what I’d do without you. And sometimes I think you’re just nice to me out of pity and you don’t really like me because everyone else in town crosses the street when I walk by and they think I make bad things happen—”
“Hey, you’re rambling again.”
“Sorry. See? You keep me in line.”
“Bruno, I do like you. A lot. And I like you because you’re you.” You lean your forehead against his. “People in town are idiots if they can’t see how amazing you are.”
He moves his body closer to yours. “I like you, too. A lot.” He bites his bottom lip a moment. “Can I… kiss you again?”
When your lips meet this time, both of you are calm. After a moment Bruno brings his hands to your waist and pulls you against him. You crave the contact so you slide onto his lap. Immediately he stiffens completely, knowing you’ll feel his excitement. But instead of being disgusted by it, you smile wider and kiss him deeper.
Hesitantly, you open your mouth and let your tongue explore Bruno’s mouth. He moans, the sound vibrating through you as well. Your hands roam over each other’s torsos, touching any hot, smooth skin you can.
When you break for a breath, you tell him, “See—I told you you’d like swimming.”
He giggles. “We should definitely come back tomorrow.” Leaning in, he kisses you again, then stops. “But I’m still not swimming— just floating.”
“I’m gonna have you swimming like a fish in a couple of days!”
“I’m never getting in that deep water again!”
“You said I could talk you into anything! I’ll just work my magic on you…” You tickle his side and he squirms and laughs.
He tickles you back and soon you’re rolling around on the ground together until you end up on your back with Bruno hovering over you. You’re breathing hard, and not just from wrestling.
Bruno tucks a strand of hair behind your ear. “You are magical,” he says before claiming your lips once more.

Ch 4  .:Budding Feelings and the Beginning of the End:.
Severus Snape had made a lot of mistakes in his life, and seeing you again after all these years was forcing him to relive every single one of them.
He stared blankly at the wall in front of him, shrouded in the darkness and grim silence of his empty house. He never thought he'd see you again, and certainly not under these circumstances. When he'd laid his eyes on you in the kitchen of 12 Grimmauld place he couldn't believe it. He, much like the rest of the Order (except for Molly, apparently) assumed you wouldn't be at these meetings any longer. After James and Lily were murdered and Sirius was thrown into Azkaban, you'd left London and headed to New York under the Ministry's alliance with MACUSA, hoping to help bridge the gap between muggle-borns and purebloods in America. He knew you had been back to meet Harry a handful of times, but he also knew that being in this city brought up painful memories for you, so he was as stunned as anyone else to see you standing there in the doorway, greeting them as if nothing were out of the ordinary.
He could see that traveling had been good for you. He'd heard through the Hogwarts circuit that you were back on auror duty across the world, taking special assignments from Dumbledore and the Minister for Magic himself. You seemed like you were doing better, but when you turned to smile at him he could see the hesitation and the sadness that brewed behind your eyes, likely his doing.
He desperately wanted things to go back to what they were before—
Before he'd ruined it. . .
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~   1974  ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“Alright students,” Professor Slughorn said as everyone finished filing inside the room, “today we're going to be pairing off into new partners for the upcoming project.”
Groans and nervous chatter flooded the sound space immediately, no one very thrilled with having to work with someone new out of their control. You cast a glance over to Lily who looked equally displeased. You liked being her partner, you both excelled at the subject and worked really well together.
“Yes, yes, I know,” Slughorn said, waving the complaints off, “However, I am going to be giving you the luxury of choosing your own partners this time, but everyone—”
The energy in the room instantly shifted, everyone shoving around people to get to their friends.
“—keep in mind, if I see any slacking off or trouble brewing in these new partnerships I will not hesitate to rearrange them!”
Slughorns's words were completely lost among the commotion as people paired off before you could even get your bearings. Snape stalled as he stared at you from across the room; Lily had already been dragged away by Mary, and his brain was trying to work out how to ask you to be his partner.
Suddenly an arm was slung over your shoulder and you turned towards the new presence in surprise. You looked up to see Evan Rosier, the sleeves of his shirt rolled up to his elbows and his Slytherin tie loose around his neck.
Oh, sod it, Snape cursed internally. He was too late.
“Wanna partner up?” Rosier asked, a crooked grin gracing his chiseled features, “It'd be my honor to have the smartest Potions partner in class, not to mention the most attractive.”
You rolled your eyes at the praise. Evan was your friend, and he was nice to look at, but if he thought that you would be willing to do all the work for the both of you in exchange for some cheap compliments, then he had another thing coming. You locked eyes with Snape from across the room
“It would be your honor,” you smirked up at Rosier, “but I already have a partner, sorry.”
It took Snape a few seconds to realize what you were doing, but once he snapped out of it he made his way towards you. You almost chuckled at how robotic he looked as he did, clearly shocked.
Rosier looked between the two of you and rolled his eyes.
“Suit yourself, sweetheart,” he said, letting you go and pushing you lightly in Snape's direction, “but if you change your mind, you know where to find me.” He sent a wink your way that left Snape's blood inexplicably boiling,
“Thanks for that,” you grinned, “and just so you know, I would have chosen you even if he didn't come up to me, so don't get all pouty about it, okay?”
Severus just looked at you blankly. Even after four years it was frightening how well you were able to read him; for a moment he was scared that he'd accidentally projected his thoughts to you, but he wasn't anywhere near that level of legillemency yet. He wanted to say something that had some semblance of gratitude but settled on:
“Whatever.”
To which you just laughed and dragged him to your now shared desk.
You really were something else.
“Now then,” Professor Slughorn addressed the room, “today we will be beginning the new unit on toxic concoctions, starting with the Draught of Living Death. If you would all turn to page ten of your books, we will get started presently.”
You turned open your book and Severus did the same. As he did, you noticed that nearly every page was covered in small notes littering the margins, with some of the instructions circled, crossed out, or modified. You were hardly surprised, Snape had been pouring over this book since last year when he'd stolen it from a fifth year Slytherin who'd been speaking poorly of you (that last part you were unaware of).
You turned your attention to the directions, reaching over to preheat the burner so your cauldron would be hot enough by the time you began. However, as soon as you lit the flame with the tip of your wand, your cauldron shot up into the air, hitting the ceiling with a loud BANG! before crashing down back onto your table, breaking several of the glass instruments that were settled there.
Your face burned embarrassment as everyone in the room turned to look at you in shock.
“Snape, (L/n),” Slughorn said, surprised, “whatever happened?”
“I. . .” you began, not knowing what to say, “I don't know, I'm sorry, Professor.”
“Quite all right,” he said uncertainly, restoring your table and equipment with a wave of his wand, “just be sure whatever that was doesn't happen again.”
“Of course,” you mumbled, trying to ignore the snickering around you. If you noticed the way that it stopped as soon as Snape sent a deathly glare at the culprits, you didn't show it. You reached down to grab your cauldron, noticing that the bottom was dusted in some sort of orange powder. As you turned it over, a note fell out of it.
You're welcome, (L/n). Sorry I couldn't be there for the fireworks~
J.P.
“That sneaky little, ugh,” you crumpled the note, growling in frustration.
“What is it?” Severus asked, peering over your shoulder to glance at the paper. However, as soon as you tried to show it to him it vanished in your hands in a wisp of glowing embers. You turned to look at Severus who was still staring at you expectantly.
“It was Potter,” you rolled your eyes.
Anger flashed in Severus' eyes before confusion replaced it momentarily.
“But that was your cauldron, not mine. Why would Potter want to mess with you?”
And now the anger was back again. Snape was used to Potter’s crew targeting him; bullying and suffering through minor hexes had become an everyday occurrence, but when he imagined them doing anything to you it was enough to make him see red.
“Ah, well. . .” you trailed off, deciding that telling him you'd yelled at the group of Gryffindors: 'if you jerks want to have a go at Severus you're gonna have to get through me first!' was a bad idea.
“I sort of, maybe, kind of. . . started it?” you said. Severus raised a brow at you. “Look, Potter was asking for it, okay? It was about time someone messed with him for a change. And besides, it was hilarious, even Lily got a kick out of watching that broom hit him in the head.”
Severus chuckled at that, a hint of pride welling in his chest at yours and Lily's shared distaste for the Potter boy.
“But that was the last straw,” you declared, grabbing a Sopophorus bean from the bowl in front of you and a knife to cut it as per the instructions, “I'm sick and tired of him acting like he's better than everyone else,” you said, stabbing down with your knife for emphasis. The Sopophorus bean jumped as you did, sliding out from under your blade and skidding across your cutting board. You huffed as you grabbed it again, placing it back down and holding it in place. “And he walks around with that little posse of his like he runs this school!” You brought your knife down again, moving your fingers at the last second, but the bean still managed to slip away, trying to bounce back into the bowl.
“This means war!” you seethed, grabbing the runaway legume again, now at your wit's end, and crushing it in your fist. It stopped jumping as the beet-red juice of the plant dripped down your arm, and Severus looked at you with a small smirk on his face.
“Well, that's one way to do it,” he said.
“Shove off,” you said playfully, throwing the bean in his direction. He dodged it easily, his smile growing.
“No, really,” he said, almost more to himself than you as he scribbled out the word 'cut' and replaced it with 'crush' in his notebook, “you might be better at this than you let on.”
You blushed at the unexpected compliment, backhanded as it was.
“Excuse you, I happen to be fantastic at Potions,” you said, grabbing another bean and avoiding his gaze.
“Right, that's why your cauldron exploded.”
“That was sabotage,” you shot back.
“I was talking about last week,” Severus said cheekily, taking in your flustered expression.
You both went back to your ingredients, eventually discovering that crushing the beans with the flat of a knife was the best way to extract the juice without them jumping. You watched Severus out of the corner of your eye as he measured out the African Sea water, adding it gradually as he stirred the mixture counter-clockwise. The elixir turned a bright blue color, shimmering as if light were being reflected off of it. He continued on with the formula, snapping off a few fluxweed sprigs before adding them and lowering the heat with his wand, hardly looking at the instructions at all.
You wondered where this newfound confidence had come from. Severus was usually so rigid and withdrawn, but right now he looked more at ease than you had ever seen him. A spark was present in his eyes as he worked that you rarely ever saw, and it made you smile despite yourself.
The rest of your potion making process went on without a hitch, and you silently applauded yourself as you watched the other students around you struggle to get their concoctions together. Even Lily seemed to be having trouble, though Mary wasn't really helping other than offering moral support.
You turned back to focus on your own potion, stirring it with the ladle and mesmerized by the way it began to turn a deep plum color. Meanwhile, Severus was cleaning up your shared station, looking over at the brew. His brows furrowed as he examined it.
“Just stir it a bit more,” he said, coming up behind you and placing his hand on top of yours, “the color is still off.”
Your face burned at the unexpected contact; Snape certainly wasn't a touchy person, so the act caught you completely off guard, though you'd be lying if you said you didn't like it. Severus nearly jumped backwards, absolutely mortified when he realized what he was doing. It was him micromanaging more than anything; he was so focused on getting the potion right he didn't even notice he was moving his own body as he gave you the instruction.
“Sorry,” he said, feeling quite possibly the lamest he'd ever felt in his life.
“It's okay,” you said, biting the inside of your lip nervously and continuing to stir like he said. Your light response allowed Snape to relax, his shoulders lowering a full three inches. He'd been certain you would have reacted to his mistake with disgust or repulsion, but you didn't. What did that mean? You were utterly confusing. Despite how well you could read him, Severus was unable to get a read on you at all. If he had been, he would have noticed the tiny smile on your face as you stirred, silently wishing his hand were back on yours.
You and Snape stood at attention as Slughorn peered down at your potion, looking mildly impressed. He reached into his robes, procuring an oak leaf from who knows where, and dropped it into your cauldron. The leaf floated on top of the liquid for just a moment before its edges began to burn. It furled from the unseen heat, folding in on itself and disappearing into the inky depths of the liquid. Slughorn's expression lit up, his impression no longer mild.
“Merlin's beard, it's perfect!” he exclaimed, “in all my years I've never seen a pair recreate this potion exactly as you two have done today.”
You beamed at the praise, your smile only widening as you saw your emotions mirrored in Severus' face, albeit more subtly.
Over the course of your fourth year, you and Snape continued to excel in Potions, receiving much praise from Professor Slughorn and a lot of glares from your fellow students. However, there was something else that continued that year, and that was your increasing interactions with James Potter.
“I just don't get why you even bother with him,” Snape had said to you one day while you were in Potions. Your prank war with James was at its peak, and you were sidetracked that day in class coming up with new ideas to get back at him.
“It's a full on battle now, Sev,” you said, “I can't back down! Now, for my next one I was thinking something along the lines of a callback to one of his earlier stunts. Maybe get him back for tampering with my cauldron at the beginning the year.”
“(Y/n)—”
“I've got a few friends in Gryffindor, and apparently he talks about his prank plans way too loudly in the common room, so I have a head start on this one. They mentioned something about my shampoo—“
“(Y/n),” Severus stressed, finally catching your attention. You looked up at him, embarrassed at you rambling. “Why do you keep doing this?” he asked, “he's just baiting you. You know that.”
“It keeps them from doing anything that targets you, right?” you questioned back.
Severus didn't know what to say at that. It was true, ever since you had declared war on James, he and his stupid friends hadn't really bothered with him at all. Were you doing this for him? He didn't know what to do with the thought.
You were, of course, but you thought it better not to mention that in the last few months this had been going on, you'd also begun to find the rivalry and banter between you and James fun.
“Gather 'round students, gather 'round!” Slughorn beckoned the class over, disrupting your train of thought and putting an end to your conversation, “now, would anyone like to identify the potion in this cauldron here?” He gestured to a shockingly pink liquid that seemed to swirl on its own. Plum and periwinkle smoke wafted through the air above it in delicate spirals.
“That's Amortentia,” Lily said, “it's a love potion that's supposed to smell different to everyone depending on what scents attract them.”
“Right you are, Miss Evans,” Slughorn said proudly, “would you like to tell us what you smell?”
“Cinnamon,” she started slowly, “warm spices, butterbeer, sandalwood. . .” her cheeks reddened significantly, as if she'd made some sort of realization. “Th-that's all.” You stared at her quizzically but she just shook her head. You'd have to ask her about this later. . .
“(L/n),” Slughorn said, “would you be so kind as to do the same?”
“Sure,” you said, stepping up to the cauldron. It was captivating, almost drawing you in physically. “Wild lavender,” you said, smiling, your mother had a garden full of them when you were growing up, “rain when it hits the pavement, and old leather books.” Scents you wouldn't realize until much later all correlated with a certain person.
“Very different scents for very different people,” Professor Slughorn said, “thank you for demonstrating, you two. Now, we will not be brewing this potion today for obvious reasons. It is incredibly dangerous, capable of creating not true love, but unhinged obsession. What we will be doing, however, is studying its effects. . .”
“Strongest love potion in the world, huh?” Evan suddenly appeared at your side, “funny, I could have sworn it smelled just like you, although you wouldn't need a potion to reign me in~”
“Put a sock in it, Rosier,” you said, shoving him away playfully.
“Aw, come on, just one date wouldn't hurt,” he said, “I'm pulling out all my best lines here!”
“That's the best you've got?”
“Ouch.”
Snape couldn't help but glare at the Slytherin boy, not liking how close he was to you. Nice as he seemed, Snape knew how he could really be. He didn't think you'd be such good friends with Rosier if you knew he was knee deep in the dark arts as soon as the sun set on the castle. Then again, Severus wasn't one to talk.
Over the course of the year he noticed that you only grew closer to James, something that bothered him immensely. He was grateful that you had gotten his bullying to stop, but he hated that the way you had gone about it was to turn Potter into a friend. . .
“Merlin, he keeps looking over at you, Lils,” you said.
Lily and Severus looked over to where James sat with Sirius, Remus, and Peter in their corner table as usual. Somehow they always managed to be at The Three Broomsticks at the exact same time as your trio, almost as if they knew you were there. James Potter was, in fact, looking towards your table, until your friends not-so-discreetly turned to look at him and he diverted his gaze elsewhere.
“Idiot,” you rolled your eyes as you took another sip of your butterbeer.
Lily looked between you and James' table for a moment before turning back to you.
“Actually, (Y/n), he's staring at you.”
You looked at her like she'd grown a second head but then began to laugh.
“Is he? Jeeze, what a creep,” you said, but with affection in your voice that wasn't missed by Severus, “it's probably because I saved his ass the other day and he's still reeling from it.”
“Oh,” she said, a hint of what you swore was relief in her tone until she realized what you said, “Wait, you what?”
“Sirius and I were talking in the forest and we got ambushed by Malfoy's motley crew,” you said, “and Potter showed up because of course he did. It was just a little duel, no big deal.”
“What?!” Lily said, concern written all over her face, “they fancy the dark arts, (Y/n), you could have been hurt!”
Severus stared into his drink, unable to look at either of you.
“I'm fine, Lils,” you insisted, “and trust me, I don't think Malfoy's going to be bothering anyone anymore. Just show him a picture of a squid and he'll probably screech like a banshee.”
Lily laughed along with you, partially in confusion, until the first part of your statement hit her with a slight delay.
“Hold on, you were in the forest with Black? And did you just call him Sirius?” she asked, her teasing making your face flush.
“We just. . . figured some stuff out. . . It was nothing like what you're thinking, so drop it,” you grumbled, taking another drink to hide your embarrassed face.
“Whatever you say, (Y/n),” Lily sang, taking a sip of her own drink.
Severus felt jealousy bubble up in him like a disease. He cast his gaze upwards, his eyes locking momentarily with James'. His arch rival rose a cocky brow at him, his gaze unmistakably shifting to you and Lily before staring Snape down again. Severus took a sharp breath to steel himself, that feeling in the pit of his stomach never really going away.
That was the beginning of the end.
─── ・ 。゚☆: *.☽ .* :☆゚. ───
"I can't believe you managed to convince me to do this," Bucky's face was pulled into a dismissal expression as you beamed at him. You tugged on his arm with excitement as the line moved forward, throwing him a smile almost as sweet as the Halloween candy that had been everywhere for the last two months. He looked over at you, and opened his mouth to say something but stopped to lean down to give you a kiss first, "all I'm saying is that for all the hype this place gets it should be good."
"It will be," you insisted excitedly, "and ugh...it's basically a premium haunted house so...its a little bit more than the average haunted house."
"Premium haunted house?" he raised an eyebrow in surprise as you took his hand and laced your fingers together, "what do you mean?"
"Well, ugh, this is supposed to be really creepy and realistic and actually scare you," you explained sweetly, hoping he wouldn't flip out too much when you revealed how much this place was going to cost, "so you know the saying, you get what you pay for…"
"Oh no," he appeared worried for a moment before being unable to conceal the grin on his face, "alright, out with it. What are you hiding, little bunny?"
"Well, this is the hip, cool haunted house and-"
"How much is it?" you gave him a little smile as he just huffed in bemused exasperation.
"Fifty dollars…"
"Fifty dollars-"
"Each."
"Fifty dollars each?!" for a moment his expression grew worried as you just give him a nervous smile, "you know, back when I was young-"
"I know, I know," you pulled him forward with you, "you walked twenty miles to and from school in old shoes, and you worked for a dollar a week. Well times are different and these days we're paying for premium haunted houses. Besides, I asked you on this date, so it's technically my treat. Just relax and have fun!"
"Fine," he agreed, "you're an odd one, little bunny. But I still love you."
"And just how am I odd?"
"Who enjoys paying money to get scared?"
"A lot of people apparently since haunted houses are a huge commodity!" you huffed and lightly stomped your foot as if to prove your point, "I promise it'll be fun! And if for some reason you're still Mr. Grumpy Boots afterwards, we'll do whatever you want."
"Fine," Bucky was never one to turn down a challenge, "for someone that gets frightened by her own shadow, you sure do love Halloween a lot."
"Halloween is everything baby," your eyes practically lit up at the mention of your favorite holiday, "you know it's the best time of year for so many reasons! Foods, the aesthetic, fall - all of it. You can't out argue me on this one!"
"I'm not even going to try and bother," you were nearing the ticket booth and growing more and more excited by the second. Bucky could practically feel your excitement radiating onto him as you clutched his hand tightly, "I'm glad you're happy. That's all that matters."
"I am happy. You make me so happy," you promised and pressed a soft kiss to his lips, "I love you, James. Hey - are you okay with this? Like really, if you don't want to, we can figure something else out."
"I'm okay," he promised, offering you a small smile, "really. I love you too. Now, let's go and get scared."
"Yay! Oh Bucky, you're the best! I love you so much," you almost jumped into his arms when he so easily acquiesced to your request. When it came down to it, you knew he would do just anything for you, "if this totally sucks, you know I'll try and make it up to you."
"All I'm saying is that I'm going to pay Fifty-five dollars for this haunted house. I better die," he looked at you with such a straight face, for a moment you couldn't tell if he was joking or serious; but you both quickly burst into laughter, "come on!"
“Alright - but don’t get mad when your wish comes true and you die!”
─── ・ 。゚☆: *.☽ .* :☆゚. ───
“That wasn’t too bad at all,” you shrugged as you walked out of the haunted house, into the now chilly autumn evening. You stopped for a moment to admire the stars before noticing that Bucky was slowly trailing behind you, no longer at your side. You snorted lightly before crossing your arms over your chest and raising an eyebrow at him, “what? James...did you…did that actually scare you?”
“What?! No,” he insisted with a dramatic scoff as a grin stretched across your features, “that was child’s play at best. The costumes weren’t even that convincing. But I hope you had fun, baby.”
“I did,” you held out your hands towards him, still not convinced that he was telling the truth, “why don’t we-”
“BOO!” the voice behind Bucky was enough to make him jump out of his skin as he yelped and practically sprinted over to you. You almost doubled over in laughter as Bucky shoved you in front of him as a human shield, “you jumped! Actually jumped!”
“Sam!” Bucky groaned at the sight of his best friend wiping tears of laughter from his eyes as he walked over to you, his girlfriend Leila at his side, and shaking her head at his childishness. You exchanged a look with her and rolled your eyes at your silly boyfriends, “you’re an asshole.”
“Had to capitalize on the moment,” Sam laughed as Bucky sighed, “man, I can’t believe you didn’t realize we were behind you. What happened to the White Panther - too busy being scared?”
“I was...I was not scared!”
“You were too!”
“Boys,” you quickly interrupted the two of them, “why don’t both of you shut up and we can all go out and get dinner? Then the two of you can be idiots and argue and I can actually spend time with someone with a brain.”
“Hey!” they echoed in unison as you linked arms with Leila and the two of you skipped away to your cars. They would catch up soon enough.
“Love you!”
a bit of angst (?), fluff, modern au, fanfiction ♡ —
Another day, going to high school. You were in your last year and just one more year and finally out of this damn place, Y/N wanted to graduate fast and just start university with her close friends. “Good morning sleepyhead!” your head was smack and you turned around ready to smack them back, and you clearly knew who it was . “Ugh Connie, I told you stop doing that!” You yelled out and tried to fix you hair. You let out a small smile when all your friends came by your side which where Sasha, Connie, Bertholdt and Jean! “Man, I’m not ready for history class at 8am! Mr. Erwin is just gonna be blabbering for so long.” Jean said with such a long sigh and you let out a laugh, “Yea, I’m probably going to doze off.” Bertholdt came by your side and opened the classroom door for you to enter first, “I’m gonna join you with that, lets seat at the back.”
As soon as you entered the classroom, you saw your seats taken by a bunch of scary mean looking guys. “Huh, who are they?” Jean said with a pissed look, you then noticed Armin being interrogated aggressively by a tall big looking guy. “What do you think you two losers doing? Can’t you see this seat belongs to me and the boss now? Screw off.” He said in a threating tone, and threw Armin’s books on the floor. Y/N was pissed and did not hesitate to react, “Y-Y/N Wait! That’s-” It was too late for Sasha to warn Y/N and they rushed towards the big looking guy and stood between him and Armin.
“Hey! What do you think you are doing?! Leave my friend alone you jerk!” You yelled out and turned around to look at Armin. “Hey, you okay?” But he just stood there with fear shown in his expression and you then felt a hand on your shoulder which startled you. “Hey....First, the name is Reiner...And second, do you even know who you are talking to?” You were taken aback by his comment, and as soon as it hit you, you just realized that you yelled out none other than one of the survey crops gang members and the boss that Reiner mentioned who was sitting on your seat was....Levi Ackerman!
Y/N was frightened but still, stood their ground and turned around towards Reiner, giving him a glare. “I don't care, respect others in this classroom. Besides, this seat is filthy right now cause you guys sat on it, so we don’t need it anymore!” Y/N pulled Armin’s arm quickly and told your friend to seat in the middle seats. You then noticed someone was looking at you, you turned around and noticed Levi was actually looking at you this whole time, he scanned your body, looking from down to up and both of your eyes met. ‘What....he isn’t mad at me?’ You wondered and turned around to look front of the classroom. Reiner was about to head towards you but Levi then spoke up and suddenly stopping him. “Leave them be Reiner. After all....we are ‘filthy’ to them.” Levi said in a sarcastic tone while he was crossing his arms, still looking at you from behind which you felt and that made you shiver.
After many classes, you decided to meet up with your friends later on in the canteen as you headed to the bathroom. As you were walking down the hallway, you bumped into someone. “Hey Watch it!” As soon as you turned to look who you bumped into. It was...Levi. “Oh...It’s you who stood up for their friend. And....called us filthy.” He said in a calm and quiet tone and this made you get butterflies but also a bit nervous as he was actually speaking to you! Y/N then slightly blushed and turned their head quickly to the other side so Levi wouldn’t notice it, ‘What the hell...He’s actually good looking?!’
“Yea, Of course I would. Unlike you.” Y/N said crossing their arms and giving him a glare, “You are fast to judge.” Levi said with a slight chuckle, and leaned his back against the wall while putting his both hands in his pockets, still keeping his eyes on them. “Y/N...right? You are kind of interesting.” You eyes started to widen by what he said, and when you looked at Levi you could tell he was actually saying the truth. “But....you are an idiot. Don’t go around doing what you did today to Reiner to others, you will get in trouble.” Levi sounded a bit concerned, he then got off and started to walk ahead of you. ‘Is he worried about me?’ Y/N wondered and then took off.
It was no lie and a fact that Levi had been keeping his eyes on Y/N for quite a while and it turned out that Levi was actually curious about Y/N and he would always watch them during class, lunch time and would try to have small talks with Y/N sometimes and this had shocked everyone. Shocking how, Levi the most scariest guy in High school and the leader of a frightening gang was actually showing his soft side only to Y/N. Levi was in fact strongly attracted and interested towards Y/N as they were always honest, strong and had always been friendly and nice to everyone. It was then later on that the both of them had feelings for each other, but they would keep that to themselves, thinking the other did not feel the same way.
It was after school and Y/N crossed paths with Levi Ackerman who was with  Furlan and Isabel. Levi gave them a wave, signaling them to leave them be and Furlan sent a smirk to Levi and elbowed his shoulder which made Levi get a slight blush on his cheeks. “Oh, look who’s here.” Levi uttered sarcastically. Y/N gave out a sigh, thinking Levi would again tease them as he was doing it quite often nowadays, this made Y/N think that Levi probably hates them and that’s why he was teasing them as everyone said it was odd for Levi to pick on others. Although, everyone was misunderstanding that Levi was doing that for another reason.
“Back off Levi, I don't have anytime for your bullshit today.”  Y/N said bluntly and was about to leave him, but Levi quickly said after “What do you mean? I was gonna ask if you wanna walk home together, Idiot.” He said after coming beside you and ruffled Y/N’s hair. “W-What...Um okay.” Y/N was a blushing mess right now, as they walked side by side with Levi, their crush. ‘Did Levi actually say that? He is actually dropping me home?’ Y/N thought while they could smell his beautiful scent, and Y/N’s eyes then wondered to look at his attractive side profile, then to his undercut hair that was neat and clean. Levi then caught Y/N starting at him and they looked away quickly. “What? Did you shit or something?” He joked while looking at Y/N, “Huh?! N-No What the hell Levi!” Y/N lightly boxed his shoulder while their cheeks went red from being embarrassed. Levi loved seeing this side of them as they could see their reaction which he found cute. “What? I just asked, calm down.”
Y/N and Levi had a long afternoon walk, and the sun started to set down. He did not want to part away from them and wanted to spend a longer time with them, just their presence next to Levi made him forget about all his problems, issues, the gang he was trying to control and handle as many of them used their power to bully others in their High school and Y/N did mention to Levi how they hated that a lot which Levi agreed to. “Hey....” Y/N then said suddenly which got Levi’s attention and out of his thoughts, “Thanks, for dropping me home. But, I wanted to ask.” They said quietly and looked down as they held on their backpack tightly, “Hm, Go ahead.” Levi uttered in his usual calm tone to Y/N.
“I want to hang with you more! But, I promised myself I wouldn't hang out and be around bullies, so....if you want to be around me more. T-Then stop your gang bullying others! Everyone thinks you are like that too, but the more I am with you...The more I realized you aren’t like them. So, please prove them wrong. Ugh, just cause you are their leader, they are using that to their advantage and I don't like that!” Y/N finally spoke out their thoughts and was still looking down. Levi just stood there, and nodded, not saying a single word which meant that Levi agreed to what Y/N said and appreciated how they valued Levi as a person and not a bad guy and also how they knew the real him, trusting him was something he admired about Y/N a lot. But, he finally spoke and said, “I will...for you.” as soon as he said that, he turned around and left which made Y/N wonder the whole night what he told them.
The following day came, just another boring and tiring day as Y/N was finally leaving her high school as they stayed after school doing extra studying. But, that was not the case anymore as Y/N was approaching the school gate to leave, they saw a strange looking guy blocking the school gate which made Y/N nervous “Um...could you move aside?” They said to him and as soon as Y/N said that, the guy quickly went towards Y/N and held on their wrist. “So you are the one, who is changing him. Because of you....you ruined everything, even my plan!!” The guy was furious and he yelled out at you as he was tightly holding on to your wrist, Y/N winced from the pain and struggled to move their wrist away from him, “Stop it! That hurts.” Tears then started to run down from your cheeks and you closed your eyes tightly, wishing....Levi to come and save you, ‘Levi...!’
You suddenly felt your wrist not having anymore pain and his hand slowly leaving your wrist. You then opened your eyes and looked up and saw none other than Levi in front of you, holding the guy’s arm really tightly! “You are fucking dead, Zeke. Now you have done it, I’m not gonna let you slide this time.” You were shaken, frighten by what was happening and you started to worry for Levi. “L-Levi..!” You called out his name and Levi turned around to look at you and gave you a soft looking smile, “Don’t worry. I’m gonna sort this out. Wait for me near the park.”
Y/N moved back slowly and was hesitant to leave Levi and go there all alone, “Hey. I’ll be there soon, so go on.” Levi reassured you, which made Y/N nod and turned around and started running towards the direction of the park. Y/N kept on running and running while tears were running down their cheeks, ‘What the hell is happening! Who is this Zeke guy?! Why did he come for me and what plan was he even talking about?!’ Your thoughts were running around your mind until you reached the park and you started to gasp for air.
As you sat on the swing, waiting for Levi, you started to overthink and wonder if anything bad happened to him. But, your phone distracted your thoughts as it started to ring with so many notifications, you opened your phone to see your school group chat talking about the fight between Levi and Zeke. Apparently, Zeke was the one who was brainwashing the survey gang members, and making them bully and hurt other students and one of them were Reiner. This then made sense why Reiner was being rude to Armin the last couple of weeks and it was Zeke’s plan to make every member of Levi’s gang to later on go against him, making Zeke the leader instead. Everyone talked about how intense the fight was and that Levi finished him off by knocking out Zeke.
“Levi....Please come back...to me.” Y/N began to whimper, missing Levi by their side, and feeling sadness slowly taken over them with more tears coming from their eyes. “Oi, Stop crying.” Y/N felt a hand suddenly on the top of their head, which was being caressed slowly. It took them a minute to process what was going on and then finally realizing that Levi was standing in front of them! Y/N quickly jolted from the swing and brought their arms around Levi’s shoulders, hugging him tightly and not wanting to let him go. “You Jerk! What took you so long?! I was so w-worried”. You were now tearing up even more, but this time...it was happy tears, and you were glad to know that Levi was finally by your side. He did not hesitate to hug you back and was glad you did that actually, he then proceeded to softly rubbed your back, but he was shocked to see the strong willed person he loves in tears, which then made Levi blame himself that he was the cause of this.
After you have calmed down, they pulled away from Levi’s shoulder and looked up at him. “I left.” Levi finally said and your eyes widened, the cold breeze slowly blowing your hair as you stood there shocked while looking at this grey eyes that never left yours. “The gang. I’m done for good now.” Levi gave you a smile, a smile that he was glad by his choice and the one who pushed him to go for that choice was none other than y/n.  After the rival fight, Levi promised himself to disband the gang for good, leaving no one being there anymore and the bad kids leaving as they did not have Levi anymore on their side and to use to their advantage. Although, this decision would not even cross his mind if he haven’t met Y/N. They changed his life and made him see things in a better perspective, it was also because Y/N did state that they wouldn’t want to hang with someone who was around with people that bullied others and Levi did not want to lose them. From now on, Levi wants to make you happy, protect/support you and be your shield, you were his sunshine and someone he would cherish and wants to be by your side for the longest time.
Levi went closer to Y/N and placed his hand on the side of their cheek, and he slowly caressed it with his thumb, rubbing away the tears that stained their cheeks. “I changed for you.” Y/N stood there blushing after hearing what Levi said and as soon Levi saw Y/N’s red face, his ears then his whole face went red too! Now realizing that Levi actually did this all just for Y/N and the promise they told Levi, that was the main reason to it all. “I can see an idiot here.” Levi said bluntly and that caused Y/N to look around, seeing who he was referring to. “Huh, Where-” Their words were taken aback by Levi flickering their forehead. “Right here.” Levi then started to give out a small laugh as Y/N brought their hand on their forehead, while still y/n’s cheeks still being red. “H-Hey! Why do you keep teasing me like that!”
Levi then grabbed y/n’s hands and held them up, and as he was holding it tightly your hands were now being warmed up. “Can’t you tell? I teased you....cause I like you.” You then started to recall all the times where he did tease you but it was only to you, and he would not do that to anyone else, he would only show his soft side to you, and his gentle kind-hearted side was something you only knew of. This then made you get butterflies and you started to get a fuzzy feeling which Levi did too.
It was indeed a long evening, but the atmosphere and the feelings you both had and shared spoke it all and Levi then promised you that he would do his best to take care of you, make you happy and also....be the best boyfriend for you, which you agreed to!
BONUS: One day, Y/N was going to the supermarket and they bumped into Kuhel Ackerman! She looked absolutely beautiful and you then figured that’s how Levi got his good looks. “Oh you must be Y/N! My son mentions you a lot at home, but he is too stubborn and shy to talk about you! Are you both perhaps together?” She would say with a big smile, she was really sweet and nice, you both shopped around and got along pretty well. She then asked if you could come over for dinner one day which you agreed to and when Levi found out about that, he was a blushing mess that evening. And how the tables turned how now his mother was now teasing him instead which made you giggle.
Still loving Komahina and I also love hurt/comfort sickfics so this was pretty inevitable. Nagito is very good for sickfics. Anyway, I wanted to show these two trying to navigate a bad illness and all the frightening and sometimes embarrassing things that come with that. Post-hope arc again. With fluff because I can’t NOT do fluff. I hope you enjoy it - Circle
Warning: descriptions of vomiting (I didn’t describe the puke itself or anything, don’t worry, I’m emetophobic myself) and high fevers/vague descriptions of medical procedures.
Hajime noticed at the beach this time - and just like every time, he kicked himself for not noticing before he’d made Nagito leave the cabin. He thought back to when Nagito stumbled as they walked across the island, about how he’d chased every meagre bite of breakfast with a gulp of water like it was difficult to get down. Hajime hadn’t been vigilant enough, and now they were sitting together on the sand and Nagito was leaning far too heavily against his shoulder.
“Nagito?” Hajime said cautiously. When Nagito turned his head, Hajime hastily put a hand to his forehead, managing to catch it before Nagito veered away. “I knew it. You’re burning up.”
Some old routine. Nagito would deflect, then grow self-deprecating; Hajime would shut that down, then begrudgingly carry Nagito back to their cabin. They’d done this dance together over and over, whenever Nagito’s weakened state and illness made something like a common cold seem as serious as smallpox.
It didn’t seem so bad for the next couple of days. Nagito had a fever, but it was a low one, and he ate when Hajime asked and seemed alert and talkative. Hajime felt comfortable leaving him in the care of their friends while he went to Mikan for medicine and advice - though his friends proved to need supervision of their own. He returned to his cabin just as Sonia and Gundham were leaving, reassured when Sonia reported that Nagito wasn’t any worse. At the time, he didn’t notice the splashes of brown paint on Gundham’s bandages or Sonia’s dress.
Hajime stopped short when he stepped over the threshold. There was a gigantic swirly witchy symbol covering almost the whole wall above the bed, the heavy smell of paint in the air. Nagito was peeping over the top of the bedsheets, eyes sparkling.
“What the hell is that?” Hajime couldn’t even sound angry. He was just bloody tired. Why were the Ultimates so dramatic?
“Sonia and Gundham did a ritual for my good health,” Nagito explained. His lip twitched and Hajime knew he was fighting a smile. “I was so honoured to have two Ultimates working to help me that I thought it’d be unspeakably ungrateful to protest.”
“Oh, shut up, Nagito! I can see you just think it’s funny,” Hajime snapped. Nagito snorted and disappeared under the sheets, spluttering.
Hajime sighed and took another look at the giant eyesore on his wall. At least it was painted fairly neatly - and he knew Gundham and Sonia’s hearts were in the right places even if this particular stunt was irritating. He supposed they were trying to help in a weird way. Sonia went along with anything Gundham said, and Hajime didn’t expect Gundham to know you shouldn’t paint giant symbols on other people’s walls without permission. Gundham navigated social interactions like he was going into battle; Hajime doubted he would ask permission for something he clearly saw as a good deed.
“Doesn’t it make your boring plain wall more interesting?” Nagito piped up.
“Don’t push your luck, Nagito.”
“Right. Who knows what pushing my luck will do.”
Later on, Hajime would worry that he’d jinxed them somehow, that whatever strange force was behind Nagito’s Ultimate Luck was malevolent and wanted to teach them a lesson for mocking it - because that night brought disaster. Nagito was usually exceptionally clingy when they were in bed, often to the point where Hajime got so warm he had to pry him off, but now he curled up right on the very edge of the mattress, well away from Hajime. Hajime knew he was awake from his strangely measured breaths and his unusual stillness; Nagito was a restless sleeper. He frequently kicked Hajime in the night and rolled right on top of him and yanked the blankets away. Sometimes Hajime felt like he’d get more sleep on a busy runway as airplanes roared overhead.
Hajime poked Nagito in the back, careful not to tip him right off the bed. “Hey. What’s up?”
He didn’t get a response. Hajime sighed. “Do you think I’m stupid? I know you’re not asleep. You never sleep like that. So what’s going on?”
He wound his arms around Nagito’s waist and tried to pull him closer to get a better look at him, but Nagito winced and slapped his hands away with surprising force. “Don’t,” he gasped, curling up even tighter. “Don’t press…”
“What? Is it your stomach?” This was new. Nagito had been off his food lately, but then he frequently found it difficult to eat. “Do you feel nauseous?”
Silence. Getting information from Nagito was like getting blood from a stone sometimes. Hajime felt Nagito’s forehead in the gloom. His fever had definitely gone up and his skin was clammy. Hajime let his fingers trail down Nagito’s cheeks to his jawline and felt along his neck - the lymph nodes were so swollen they felt like two throbbing ping pong balls.
“Fuck,” Hajime muttered. “I thought we might get through this one without anything too bad.”
He was expecting some strange rambling about how this bad luck would inspire them to hope for good things in the future, but Nagito still didn’t speak. He rolled over and shuffled across the bed, tucking his burning head right under Hajime’s chin. It worried Hajime more than any words could; Nagito didn’t actively seek out comfort unless he was feeling really terrible.
“Hey,” Hajime mumbled, having to spit out a mouthful of Nagito’s unruly curls. “Ugh, your hair keeps getting in my mouth. Look, I know you’re sick and I’m sure it must feel crappy, but you’ll be okay. You’ll probably feel better by tomorrow morning. Right?” Hajime knew he sounded like he was trying to convince himself as well as Nagito.
More silence. Hajime could feel Nagito shivering, and wound his arms around him quickly. He usually teased Nagito for being so chilly all the time, needing his jacket whenever the sun dipped behind the clouds and getting goose pimples in the air conditioned cabins, but it didn’t seem remotely funny anymore. Nagito trembled like he was buried up to his neck in snow, but he certainly didn’t feel cold.
“You’re burning up. Fuck, I think I need to get Mikan,” Hajime said. He felt a hand shoot out and grab hold of his t-shirt, clinging for dear life. Hajime knew he could easily pry Nagito off, but he couldn’t bring himself to try at a time like this. “Okay, don’t freak out. I’ll stay. But I’m going if you get any worse.”
It was after midnight when the vomiting started. They’d already been in the bathroom since eleven, huddled together on the floor by the toilet, sharing a blanket. Nagito kept sleepily begging Hajime to go back to bed and leave him there, but he wouldn’t budge.
“Shut up,” he mumbled. “Don’t act like you wouldn’t be here with me if our roles were reversed.”
“That’s different. You’re you and I’m me,” Nagito whispered. He let his burning head rest against Hajime’s shoulder despite his pleading.
“It shouldn’t be different though. It’s not different, not to me. You’re sick and I wouldn’t be able to sleep anyway if I knew you were in here on your own feeling miserable.”
“You have such a kind heart, Hajime. To think you could care so much about someone as worthless as I am.”
“Nagito. If you don’t stop that I’m going to shove your head down the toilet and flush, no matter how sick you are,” Hajime threatened. “You’re not worthless. For the millionth time.”
“You’d think you’d have got tired of saying that by now,” Nagito said.
“I have. Very fucking tired. But I’ll keep saying it until you believe me. Now shut up and try to get some rest. And let me know when you need to throw up. You’re in a position right now that would have you puking down my front and it’s making me nervous.”
Thankfully, Nagito was exceptionally neat about it when he did have to lean over the toilet to vomit. Hajime hooked his white curls back behind his ears and tried not to groan too much. It was unpleasant, obviously, but it was clear Nagito was the one suffering the most right now. He didn’t need Hajime moaning in his ear for him to hurry up - and as the minutes ticked by Hajime found his embarrassment and mild disgust morphing into anxiety. He knew Nagito hadn’t had much to eat these past few days, but the retching and heaving went on well after Nagito had nothing left to bring up. Nagito’s cheeks grew flushed and blotchy, and it wasn’t long before Hajime was the only thing holding him up over the loo, his arms wound around Nagito’s chest. He could feel Nagito’s heart pounding hard against his arms, on and on.
“Come on,” Hajime said eventually. “I’ll get you a bucket or something. You’re not really throwing anything up now anyway. You need to lie down.”
Nagito didn’t respond. He was breathing heavily, his face dripping with sweat. He was gripping the porcelain so hard his knuckles bleached white. Hajime had to pry off his fingers one by one.
“Come on,” he repeated. “I’ll get you something to wipe your face. I know you feel miserable but you can’t stay tethered to the toilet until you die.” He scooped Nagito up into his arms, cradling him as carefully as a newborn. Nagito felt frighteningly hot and damp.
Shaky arms wound around Hajime’s neck and a weak, hoarse voice whispered into his ear. “Death would be welcome at this point…”
“Stop it,” Hajime said firmly. “Don’t go all melodramatic on me. You sound like Gundham.” He carried Nagito to the bed and ran a cloth under the tap. “Here. Shall I do it for you? Then you don’t have to sit up.”
Nagito didn’t react, staring up at the ceiling. He seemed to decide to ignore Hajime at will, and it annoyed him almost as much as Nagito’s self-deprecation.
“Fine, don’t talk to me,” Hajime snapped. “I’ll scrub your face like a baby if you’re going to act like one.” Despite his tone, Hajime ran the damp cloth over Nagito’s skin with unbelievable care and tenderness, going carefully around his eyes and mouth.
Nagito’s eyes flickered over to him. “Well, Nurse Hinata, what’s your diagnosis? Is it curtains for me now? Is this world finally finished with me?”
“No! God, I’ve never known anybody so dramatic,” Hajime said angrily. “It’s just a little stomach flu or something like that. Don’t be so stupid.” He was almost shouting now. It was far easier to get angry than to admit to Nagito that he was scared too, that the knot of panic in his chest was getting tighter by the minute.
Nagito stared at him pityingly. Hajime wanted to slap him and clasp him close all at once.
“I’m going to get Mikan.” He turned to leave, but felt a clammy hand grasp his wrist and hold it with a surprisingly firm, desperate strength. Hajime turned back. “Nagito..?”
Nagito had his head bent, his lips pressed together. He didn’t speak, but he clung to Hajime’s wrist so tightly his fingernails dug in.
“But we need help. I’ll be as fast as I can, I promise. I’ll run all the way,” Hajime tried.
The hand squeezed even tighter.
“Oh fucking hell,” Hajime groaned. “Okay, I won’t leave. But we still need help, so you need to let me go for a second, okay? I promise I won’t go past the door to the cabin.”
A pause. Then Nagito slowly unclamped his fingers and let Hajime break free. He immediately flew to the cabin door, opened it wide and took a deep, long breath inwards. “HEY!” he bellowed, as loud as he could possibly manage. His voice boomed through the still night air. “WE NEED HELP! COME OUT AND HELP US!”
He yelled the same simple lines over and over until a door opened. He’d rather hoped for somebody sensible like Twogami or Mahiru; he ended up with Kazuichi. It made sense really - the sensible people would be asleep at three in the morning, and Kazuichi’s cabin was directly across from Hajime’s.
“What the hell are you screaming about, Hajime?” Kazuichi whined, scrubbing his eyes. His hands were covered with oil and he smeared it across his cheeks. It looked like he was wearing bad war paint. He’d doubtless been hunched over some project he was working on. It usually annoyed Hajime to see his friend neglecting vital things like sleep for his machines, but he was grateful for Souda’s insomnia tonight.
“Kazuichi, come over here, I need your help. Nagito is sick. Like, really sick. I need you to go get Mikan. Please.”
“What? Why can’t you do it?” Kazuichi said indignantly.
“I just… I don’t want to leave him alone, okay?!” Hajime muttered, flustered.
“Awww, Hajime! You loooove him,” Kazuichi cried, spluttering with laughter.
Hajime heard Nagito snort behind him too. He must’ve heard. He felt his cheeks flush crimson. “Kazuichi, will you just fucking go before I throttle you!”
“Stop yelling at me, I’m doing you a favour!” Kazuichi cried, looking wounded - but he ran off in the direction of Mikan’s cabin obediently.
None of them slept much that night. Mikan worked diligently, trying antibiotics and saline drips and ice packs, but she couldn’t get Nagito’s fever down, getting more and more tearfully apologetic as if she was personally blighting him herself. “His fever is dangerously high. We have to find a way of lowering it,” she muttered over and over like a mantra, shaking her head.
Anti-nausea drugs stopped the persistent stomach pains, but Nagito was clearly far from comfortable. He stopped smirking and teasing Hajime, stopped laughing at Kazuichi’s silly jokes. He stopped putting himself down and babbling about how the four Ultimates were so full of kindness and hope to be fussing so much over someone like him. He just stared vacantly up at the ceiling, his eyes foggy and over-bright, his cheeks flushed.
They each toiled in their own way until dawn, when they finally collapsed with exhaustion, squashing up together on Hajime’s bed. They lay there undisturbed until Twogami came looking for them, concerned by the absences at breakfast. He shook Hajime awake, wanting to know why there were four people curled around each other like puppies on his bed, but all Hajime could focus on was Nagito. His head was resting on Hajime’s chest, burning hot through his shirt. The fever was still there. He’d woken up but the nightmare was still going.
It was a mercy that Twogami found them. He sent Mikan off to sleep in her own cabin and made Hajime give a detailed account of the previous night (he let Kazuichi remain asleep at the foot of the bed. Twogami knew he wouldn’t sleep again if he was disturbed, and he wasn’t in the way).
“If he gets any worse, we might have to contact Future Foundation,” Twogami said thoughtfully. “They’ll have more complex medical equipment.”
“We don’t need them,” Hajime snapped. “Especially Makoto.”
He’d thought Kazuichi was still sleeping, but he snorted. “Because Nagito gushes over Makoto. That’s why you don’t like him,” he mumbled sleepily, sitting up.
“Shut up, you hypocrite. Why didn’t you like Gundham before?” Hajime argued.
“I don’t know why you get so fussed, Makoto looks a lot like you.”
“He doesn’t!”
Twogami sighed and crossed his arms like an exasperated parent. “If you two want to bicker you can go do it outside. Nagito needs peace and quiet.” He sounded like a parent too, and the other men quietened immediately and focused on Nagito again.
Nagito didn’t seem to wake up properly. He could open his eyes (though this looked like it was taking an extreme amount of effort) but he didn’t speak or even react very much when somebody spoke to him. He barely blinked when Hajime tried to make him sip water or Kazuichi tapped on his cheek and called his name. Mikan was forced to give him fluids intravenously. When the afternoon brought no improvements, Hajime let Twogami contact Future Foundation for better medicine.
Hajime spent another anxious, sleepless night desperately holding Nagito - though he didn’t feel like Nagito. He hadn’t spoken a single word all day, and though Hajime was trying to be optimistic, he could feel panic pooling in his stomach like oil. Would the medicine get here in time? Would it even work? Nagito was so sick, as sick as he’d been with that awful Despair Disease. Hajime remembered how he’d left Nagito alone then; he wouldn’t make that mistake this time. He’d be there for Nagito - if he was even aware of Hajime at this point. It seemed less and less likely. He wasn’t even opening his eyes now. All Hajime could do was hold him, hold onto this lifeless, unresponsive husk that sucked in shallow breaths far too fast. He wondered if the real Nagito was somewhere deep inside, floating aimlessly, or if the fever had fried his brain completely and obliterated the strange, smart, fascinating person Hajime knew. No, surely he was being stupid. It couldn’t be that bad, right? Unless Mikan and Twogami were just being tactful. Maybe they both expected Nagito to perish and just didn’t want to snuff out Hajime’s hope. He clutched the burning body tighter.
“Don’t you dare die,” he whispered fiercely, cupping Nagito’s cheeks. “I mean it. Not after everything that’s happened. You can’t just give up now. You woke up once before. It took you the longest of everyone, but you still came back. Do it again, because I’ll lose my fucking mind if anyone else dies. You’d better fight this.” His eyes burned. Several tiny droplets of water fell onto Nagito’s face.
Hajime waited. He silently begged Nagito to open his eyes, whisper something coherent, clutch his hand… but nothing happened. Hajime held him all night, terrified of drifting off to sleep in case he woke up and found Nagito stone cold and white and still. He’d found Nagito dead once. Bloody and bound, his eyes bulging with pain… No. It wasn’t real, even if it felt real. It wasn’t real it wasn’t real it wasn’t real.
Morning brought the stronger medicine from the Future Foundation. Twogami explained what it was and how it worked, but Hajime was so fuzzy-headed with lack of sleep and stress that he didn’t take any of it in.
“Are you sure you’re going to be okay?” Twogami said doubtfully. “Mikan set up the IV so you don’t have to worry about anything. You could leave one of us here, go get some rest.” He tried for ten minutes to convince him, but Hajime shook his head.
“I can’t leave him. Not until he’s better.”
“You’re so stubborn. At this rate we’ll need to start nursing you along with him,” Twogami muttered, but he left them alone. Mikan left as soon as she could too, apologising even more than usual. Maybe Hajime had been glaring at her? It wasn’t her fault, he just had a splitting headache, but he obviously couldn’t leave to go apologise. Not now.
Time had started to blur. Minutes crawled by like days, but then suddenly an entire hour could disappear in a second. Hajime stayed sitting by Nagito’s side, periodically holding his hand, begging him to squeeze his back. Nagito lay still, but his breathing had evened out considerably since he’d been given this new medication. Hajime tried tickling at his cheeks and smoothing back his hair and Nagito twitched and sighed - tiny reactions, but they were reactions. Hajime hardly dared let himself hope and he definitely didn’t dare let himself sleep, though he was so tired now he had shooting pains behind his eyes.
Later - much later - Kazuichi came back, bringing Hajime toast and coffee. He looked startled by the state he was in. “Good God, Hajime, you look worse than Nagito!”
“Thanks a bunch,” Hajime grumbled. He didn’t touch the toast but took a grateful gulp of coffee.
“Seriously, bro, when did you last sleep? Or eat? Or… shower?” Kazuichi asked, sitting cross-legged at the foot of the bed.
“That’s rich, coming from you.”
“Have you seriously not slept since he got sick?”
“How can I?” Hajime snapped. “Will you please stop bleating obvious questions at me, Kazuichi. Yes, I’m fucking tired and hungry and I look like shit right now, I know. But I’m trying to make sure my boyfriend doesn’t die right in front of me, so forgive me if I can’t give much of a fuck about anything else! I don’t have the energy to deal with you right now. So can you please just shut up or fuck off!” He was practically screaming by the end of it. Part of him really wanted Kazuichi to yell back, start a real fight; he was so tired and so frustrated and it was so easy to take it out on Kazuichi.
But Souda didn’t argue. He didn’t speak, but his eyes filled up and he ducked his head to hide his quivering lips. Hajime felt a sudden wave of shame wash over his head. He didn’t want to make Kazuichi cry (even if that was pretty easy to do).
“I’m sorry,” he mumbled, putting his head in his hands. “Yes, I’m tired. Tired and miserable. It’s not your fault.”
“I know you’re tired. I thought I could stay here. Keep watch over Nagito for a bit. You can sleep next to him,” Kazuichi said, his voice cracking.
Hajime felt worse than ever. “Shit. I’m sorry.” He grabbed Kazuichi and pulled him into a clumsy hug. “You’re a good friend. Better than me.”
“I’m your best friend, right?” Kazuichi asked hopefully. “You’re not just being nice? Am I actually just annoying?”
“You are annoying. But you’re still my best friend.”
Kazuichi grinned. “Okay. And you’ll get some rest now? I think you really need it, Hajime. You’re so grouchy when you’re tired.”
Hajime rather wanted to grumble about that comment, but he didn’t want to prove Souda’s point. “You’ll wake me up if anything changes with Nagito? Even something tiny. Even if you’re not sure it’s a change, can you wake me up to check?”
“Yes. God, you’re worse than Peko with Fuyuhiko. Do you really love him, Hajime?” Kazuichi asked.
“Look, we’re not at a pre-teen sleepover, Kazuichi. I don’t want to sit here with you and gossip about boys,” Hajime said, shuffling close to Nagito. He wasn’t sure - maybe it was wishful thinking - but he thought Nagito’s body was slightly cooler.
“See what I mean. Grumpy,” Kazuichi mumbled.
Hajime didn’t bother to reply this time. He didn’t think he’d manage to get a wink of sleep with all the stress and worry, but he was out like a light almost immediately, so exhausted he didn’t even dream. He wasn’t sure how long Kazuichi kept vigil at their bedside (several hours, he guessed. Kazuichi was a good friend) but he was gone when Hajime opened his eyes. The silvery dawn light was filtering in through the windows, bathing their furniture in a soft glow. Something was burrowing into Hajime’s chest like a small animal.
“Nagito..?” Hajime mumbled, still half-asleep.
“Of course. Who else do you invite into bed, Hajime?”
“Nobody, dumbass.” Then it clicked and Hajime was instantly awake, peering through the dim light. Nagito truly was awake, looking very pale and sleepy and weak, but his eyes were open. Hajime clutched onto him at once, holding him as tight as he dared. Nagito felt as fragile as glass, like he might shatter altogether if Hajime squeezed too hard.
“Careful, you’ll yank my IV out,” Nagito mumbled, but he buried his face into Hajime’s shoulder too. His skin was still clammy, still warm, but not that terrifying burning anymore. Nagito felt clammy all over. “You should wait till I’ve showered before we do all the tearful reunions.”
“Shut up. I need a shower too,” Hajime said hoarsely. He tried to swallow the lump in his throat. “Fuck, it’s good to see you awake and talking.”
“How long was I out?”
“Several days. How much do you remember?”
Nagito paused. “I remember the night Mikan and Kazuichi came. It gets a bit muddled after that. Someone tried to make me drink quite a few times. Nothing much then. Except…”
“Except?”
“Perhaps I was dreaming. I couldn’t imagine somebody caring so much for someone like-”
“Oh Christ, I haven’t missed that,” Hajime groaned. “Just tell me what you remember!”
“You. Your voice, telling me not to die. Though it sounded more like you were threatening me not to die. And something dripping on me.”
Hajime felt his face flushing. It seemed like years ago that he’d hovered over Nagito and frantically begged him to keep fighting. “Trust you to remember something embarrassing like that.”
“Were you truly crying?”
“What else would I be doing? Drooling on you?”
“You hardly ever cry.”
“I’ve never seen you that sick before,” Hajime admitted. He held Nagito in the hug so he couldn’t see his face. It was somehow easier to blurt it all out in the gloomy morning half-light. “It was… fucking horrible. I didn’t dare sleep. I haven’t felt scared like that since the simulation. I thought I was going to lose you… just like Chiaki.”
There was a long, pregnant pause. Hajime could feel Nagito’s breath tickling against his neck.
“We smell awful,” Nagito finally whispered.
Hajime started spluttering with laughter. “For God’s sake! Can’t you ever be serious?”
“You know I don’t have any idea how to comfort people. But… you shouldn’t worry so much when I get sick. Not just because I’m me, but because my luck usually comes through for me eventually. It hasn’t let me die yet. Well, except in the simulation.”
“Shut up. Don’t talk about that,” Hajime said quickly. “Izuru has luck too. So that should mean I’m stuck with you forever.”
He rather expected Nagito to shoot back with some sort of self-deprecating response like “poor you” but Nagito was silent for a while. He was practically in Hajime’s lap now, his skinny legs wound around Hajime’s waist.
“Thank you.”
“Hm?” The words were so quiet Hajime barely heard.
“Thank you for taking care of me. Nobody has ever done that before,” Nagito said, his voice as light and delicate as the dawn. He still found it so hard to accept things like this. He’d spent so many years building walls around him and then Hajime had come along and blasted through them in an instant. Nagito felt raw and vulnerable and exposed - but there was a warm feeling in his stomach too, new and unfamiliar.
“I’d do it again in a heartbeat,” Hajime promised.
“You’ll probably have to. My immune system is awful.”
“Then I will. Needing things isn’t bad, Nagito. You’re not meant to do things all alone.”
“The thing we need right now is a wash.”
“Yes. We’d better get that over with first,” Hajime agreed - but despite their words they both remained in their embrace, clinging to each other with desperate strength, long after that sun had risen properly.
Seventeen: A Member Walks In On You Two
Tumblr media
S. Coups: You have waited all day for Seungcheol to get back from tour, not only did you miss his persona, and adorable demeanor, you missed his dick. As soon as he got home, you and him began a heavy makeout session. Clothes started to fly off, you both went down on each other, and just as he was about to insert himself into your entrance, “Hey Seungcheol, you left your- Oh my God! You just came back from tour and your already fucking each other!?” Jeonghan yells. “Jeonghan, get out!” Seungcheol replies trying to hide both of your bodies. He walks out, and you let Seungcheol calm down. “Are you okay baby?” You ask. “Yeah I’m fine, are you good?” “Yeah, but I would be better if we picked up where we left off.” You responded. “Of course, babe.”
Jeonghan: “You don’t know how long I’ve missed your pussy.” Jeonghan says pounding into your wet heat. He had you on the bed face down, ass up, in front of the door, fucking you hard and fast. He had just come back from practice, and he was ready to release his stress from overworking, lucky you. “Oh, Jeonghan, you feel so good!” You whimpered. You both were close to releasing, you could feel it, but you were disrupted when Dino walked through the door looking frightened when he walked in. “I just c-came to g-get my ch-charger.” Dino muttered. Jeonghan stopped mid thrust to say this, “Either get out or watch, but let us continue.” And with that, Dino was gone, and Jeonghan continued trying to help you guys chase your high again.
Joshua: The boys just left, perfect for you and Joshua to have some alone time you both desperately craved. “I want you.” You told him. “Same here baby.” You and Joshua began to heavily makeout, taking off your clothes in the process, Joshua pulled out a condom and slid it down his length, he pulled you on top of him, and you slid down his length. “Ah, Shua, you feel so good mmm.” “You too, angel” You began to ride him at a steady pace, making you both feel pleasure. Joshua holds your waist, and you rest your hands on his chest as he starts to control the pace, lifting you up and down on his length, as the pace gets faster, you hear the door open, and you both freeze. All you see is Vernon going to the kitchen, and you both watch immensely, and he leaves while saying this, “Sorry, forgot my phone, you guys enjoy” before closing the door, while you and Joshua try to figure out what happened.
Jun: You and Jun were watching a movie when he began kissing your neck. “Jun, stop.” You giggle. “But you look so sexy I want you baby.” He leans in, and kisses your lips, laying you down as you began to remove your clothes, he kisses down to your panties, opening your legs up, and kisses over your clit, causing you whimper. He pushes your panties to the side, and licks a bold stripe up your clit before his lips latch around the sensitive bud. “Jun, that feels so good, ahh.” You moaned. He expertly sucked on you clit while he held your legs open, you held onto his hair, while he continued his assault on your pussy, it wasn’t until he traveled down to your entrance, and stuck his tongue inside it when Minghao walked in. You tugged on Jun’s Jaír to get his attention, but he thought it was nothing, and moaned into your pussy. “J-Jun, Minghao is in here.” You whimpered. “It’s okay, baby, he knows where the exit is, if he wants to leave he can, or he can watch you cum all over my face, it’s his choice.” He says while continuing to eat you out.
Hoshi: “Harder please, shit!” You moan out. Soonyoung was doing a number on you making you cum twice already, trying to draw out a third orgasm from you tonight. “Yeah, does my little slut want me to fuck her harder, make her cum again like the little slut she is? Hmm?” “Yes baby please!” His thrusts sped up faster causing you to whimper out ready to cum again. You felt great your body close to tipping over, you could feel your orgasm piling up on you. “Ugh! I’m gonna cum!” You screamed. “Cum Princess.” Soonyoung replied. Just as you released you heard a third voice. “Ahh, why!? Just why!? My eyes!” Seungkwan yelled. You and Soonyoung both screamed, covering each other up. “Seungkwan what the fuck!? Get the hell out!” As soon as he walks out, and shuts the door, Soonyoung looks at you with pleading eyes. “Wanna go again with no interruptions this time?”
Wonwoo: “Wonwoo are you okay?” You ask. “Uhm, yeah, kinda.” Wonwoo trails off. “What does kinda mean?” He looks down at his lap, and your eyes widen. You stare at his bulge that is being strained by his pants. “Oh.” You say. “I couldn’t help it, you’re wearing a low cut top today, and your boobs just look so nice.” “You want me to help you baby?” You ask. Wonwoo nods his head, and you kiss his lips before your hand goes down to his bulge palming him, causing him to groan into the kiss. You get down on your knees, and unzip and unbutton his pants, you pull his pants and underwear down and his member springs up, groaning as he is released from his confinements. You grab it in your hand and began to pump it slowly while your thumb teased his tip, just as you were about to attach your mouth to him, “Wow who knew (y/n) gives you blowjobs?” Mingyu said as he walks in. “Mingyu can you please leave?” You ask. He walks out not wanting to mess up Wonwoo’s blowjob. “You want me to continue?” You ask and he nods his head. You get right back to working on his cock.
Woozi: “Baby Can you help me? I really need a good stress reliever.” Woozi asks as you walk into the studio. “Of course, I’m always here to help.” You respond. You began to sit on his lap and makeout with Jihoon. Without hesitation, he slipped his tongue into your mouth, as he held tightly to your waist. You began to grind down on his lap making him moan out into your mouth. Jihoon detached his mouth from yours, and you started to kiss down his neck, causing him to moan out. He tugs on your shirt signaling you to remove it. “Take this off please.” He says. You slip your shirt off over your head, and you also remove his. “I want to fuck you so bad.” Jihoon moans to you. “I hope you don’t plan on doing that while I’m in here.” You heard someone speak, and of course standing at the door was Seungcheol. “Cheol, can you please leave? Can we take a quick break?” Jihoon asks. “Okay, but make it quick.” Seungcheol says before winking at the both of you.
Dokyeom: “I love you sweetheart.” Seokmin says to you as he thrusts slowly into, causing you to whimper and pull on his hair. This was your and his’ first time, so he wanted it to be special, he made sure to make everything special for you, and he did well, taking his time with you, learning about your body, and finding all of your sweet spots, he told the boys that you were coming over, and not to bother you guys so he thought that was enough, but it wasn’t. “Seokmin, it feels so good.” You told him, he kisses your neck, and grabs your hand, but then you heard the door open and saw a head peek through. Causing you and Seokmin to both jump and scream a little. “Jun get out!” Seokmin yells. “You said no one should disrupt you and (y/n) for two hours, it’s been two and a half hours now. Honestly we didn’t think that you would last this long.” He explains. “Leave!” You and Seokmin both say. “So much for our first time.” Seokmin says annoyed.
Mingyu: You and Mingyu were in the kitchen baking cookies just to pass the time, that is until Mingyu’s focus was on something else. “Okay so now we need flour, and- Mingyu s-stop.” You stammered. He began kissing your neck nipping at it gently while his bulge pressed into your ass. “Mm, I can’t help it, you just look so good in these shorts.” He whispered in your ear. As time passed by he kept toying with you, and as soon as you put the cookies in, you finally gave him what he wanted. “So sexy, he says as he pulls your shorts down right before bending you over the counter, and inserting himself inside you from behind. You gasp at the stretch while you he lets you adjust to him, after the okay he began to thrusts into you at a steadily pace gradually increasing with each thrust. “You feel so good baby.” Mingyu moaned out. Your moans kept getting louder as he pounded into with hard thrusts. The only sound you could hear was skin slapping, but then, “You guys do know we cook there? Gross, oh and by the way, your cookies are smoking.” Jihoon says before walking off. “Shit! The cookies!” You yelled.
The8: Minghao didn’t want to admit it, but your mouth felt so good. You had just started your relationship and have only had sex once before, and you never really gave him a blowjob, he was nervous about asking you until you noticed how shy he gets around the conversation. “Does this feel good baby?” You as you detach your mouth from him. He nodded profusely. You continued by on attaching your mouth to his tip, and swirling your tongue around it, and using your hand to rub the rest of his length up and down. “Ohh!” Minghao moaned. He began to twitch in your mouth signaling that he was going to cum, so you began to suck harder on his tip, but the feeling was gone when Joshua walked in, “Myungho, we are leaving in five- I’m sorry guys.” Joshua says as he walks out. You detach your mouth from his member, and you look down. “Even though I didn’t cum, I really enjoyed your mouth on me.” Minghao responds with a smile.
Seungkwan: “Kwannie, I need you please.” You whine. “You are so beautiful.” Seungkwan says as he pushes himself into you. You wrap your hands around his back as he thrusts in and out of you. “You feel so good, (y/n).” Seungkwan moans. He is relieved that you both get to have some alone time for once, and now he was ready to continue and finish it off was a good orgasm for the night. As time passed Seungkwan’s thrusts got faster, and now they were becoming sloppier making you and him close in your orgasms. “I’m close.” You whimpered. “M-me too.” As you and him were in the midst of coming, you heard a familiar voice ring in your ears. “Next time lock the door please, I don’t want to see you two make babies.” Soonyoung says right before walking out. “I thought you locked the door?” You asked. “Oops.”
Vernon: “Oh Vernon, your tongue feels so good.” You moan out. “Mmm.” Vernon moans into your pussy. The way his tongue slid in and out of you sent you into a frenzy. One hand was gripping his hair while the other was gripping the bed sheets. You were a little needy today, and you needed some relief, as soon as you told Vernon, he brought up the idea of eating you out, and you’re glad he did. He enjoys it just as much as you. Seeing your skirt up to your stomach, no panties on, just his tongue devouring you. His tongue trails back up to suck on your clit, causing you to mewl his name. You were so close when you saw Wonwoo walk through the door. “Hansol, have you seen my- never mind, I’ll find it later.” Before leaving really quickly.
Dino: “(y/n) can we try something?” Dino asks shyly. “Yeah what is it baby?” You responded. “Can I handcuff you?” Your eyes open wide, but you agree to it anyway. “Sure, why not.” So there you were handcuffed to the bed while Dino ate you out. You have to admit, it was excruciatingly painful to not touch him, but it only added more tension to your arousal. “Chan please let me t-touch you, Ahh.” You whimpered. “Sorry baby, you agreed to this, so you’ll take it, he says as he gets up to insert himself inside you causing you to cry out at the stretch. He began to slowly thrust into you while nipping at your neck. He felt so good, and you were in pleasure until, “You know when you asked us if we had handcuffs we didn’t think this is what you were gonna use them for.” Seokmin said, causing you both to shift your gaze to him. “Can you leave?” Dino asked. “Sure thing!” Once he left you both picked back up where you left off until you both heard this, “Dino is using the handcuffs to fuck (y/n)!” Seokmin yells to the other boys.
February 9th
It seemed that everyone now knew about the flowers that have been left for you the last three days. And everyone seems to know nothing about it. But someone must, it has to be one of them. You sat at your desk, trying to figure it out. Who could it be?
Tony? Doesn’t seem to be his style, and he seemed way too amused at the thought, so maybe not him.
Bruce? Flowers and sweet words do seem like something the more bashful and shy man would do. But he is not the best actor or liar, and seemed to know nothing of it.
Then there was Steve and Bucky. They seemed very interested in the bouquet that Natasha brought in the gym. But they couldn’t have left it at your door. Well, they had gone in and out during the time you were there...so maybe one of them dropped it off? They both seem like secret romantics.
Natasha? She is very good at doing sneaky things, she was a spy after all. And she straight up handed you a bouquet, maybe she did not find it at your door, and instead thought it would be less suspicious that way.
Thor and Loki have not been on Earth until yesterday, so they could not have left them...
Vision? Clint? They both seemed to have a knack for the romantic. But did they have feelings for you?
Wanda? No, she hasn’t been around, and was too excited with the thought of helping you seek them out when she found out about it. She compared it to a scavenger hunt.
You sighed as you leaned back in your chair, staring at the ceiling. Who the hell was it? It could be any of them, but maybe none of them at the same time. Maybe its just another SHIELD Agent that works in the tower that you know? With that thought, that brings the amount of people to near a hundred.
Plus, there was the creepy thought that Tony and Natasha teasingly put into your head this morning. That it could be a delusional stalker that you met briefly once, but you doubted that. Though you did hate that the thought was still lingering.
Your thoughts halted when you heard a noise right outside your door. Your head snapping in its direction. Quickly getting up, you basically sprinted to the door before pulling it open quickly.
The mixture of disappointment and relief at the sight of no one outside your door, was replaced with surprise as your eyes fell to the object sitting at your feet.
“What?” you asked in disbelief, before stepping over it and looking down the hall. There were no other people living on this floor, and the elevator had not opened nor closed. Moving quickly down the hall, you opened up the stairwell door, you listened intently for a few moments, but heard nothing.
You turned back and looked at the colorful bouquet on the floor. Moving back over to it, you picked it up, looking back down the hall you shook your head in disbelief “How?”
Looking at the delicate and beautiful flowers wrapped in a light brown paper tied with white twine, you smiled before walking back into your room, sparing one last glance down the empty hallway. You sat at your desk as you fiddled with the attached note for a moment before you opened it. Reading the words to yourself.
~~~ ~~~ ~~~ ~~~ ~~~ Pink Camellias
These mean “Longing for you”. A bit dramatic, I know. And I hope you are not frightened by my gifts and words, that is not my intention. I just simply want you to know the feelings that I have been dealing with for a while now. I long for you to know them, I long to hear you tell me the same. But I promise you, if you do not feel the same, I will feel no ill will towards you. I simply wish you happiness and love. But more than that, I do hope, and long for the days I can be the one who gives them to you.  ~~~ ~~~ ~~~ ~~~ ~~~
When you finished reading the note you let out a breath you hadn’t been aware you had been holding in. Well, at least they seem kind, and not like a stalker.
“I hope I feel the same too” you muttered. You hated the idea of breaking someone’s heart, especially if they’re a friend.
You thought back to how they were able to leave the flowers at your door without being seen. Maybe the noise you heard was them leaving and not arriving? No, it was right outside your door. Or maybe they had a way of getting in and out quickly that you didn’t know about, or they were just very fast. Or....they could walk through walls...
”Vision.”
After adding the camellias to the same vase as the Salvias, you left your room to seek out Vision. After searching his room, the main living area, and the kitchen., you headed to Steve and Tony’s lab. When walking in, you noticed the man standing near Tony, seemingly helping with something.
“Boys” you greeted as you approached, you spotted Bruce in the room behind them. You were debating in this moment whether you wanted to know if it was Vision or not.
“Hello Y/n” Vision greeted with his usual smile and demeanor, as Tony nodded “What’s up, need something?”
You needed to know. Maybe he was delivering for someone else? “I just have a question for Vision.”
“What is it?” he asked.
“Did you happen deliver flowers outside my door, about five minutes ago?”
Tony looked up at you before looking at Vision.
“No? Why? Did you receive another delivery from your apparent admirer?”
“Yes I did. But the thing is, I heard them, but by the time I got to the door, they were gone, which seemed somewhat impossible. Sort of like they could disappear, run very fast, or move through walls” you said while eyeing them.
“Ah, I see. You have the right to be suspicious, but I assure you Y/n, I did not deliver any flowers.”
You sighed, Vision hated lying, especially too you, so with the sincerity in his voice, you had to believe him “Okay, I believe you.”
“Is this frightening you Y/n?” Vision asked, worry evident in his voice.
“No, no. I’m not scared, just...very, very curious.” you said with a smile, “I’ll see you guys later” you said in parting before turning away.
“Aren’t you going to ask me if I did it?” Tony quipped.
You turned back and smiled “Last I checked you can’t move through walls nor turn invisible. And, you really aren’t that fast.”
He gave you an offended look as you turned and left with a chuckle “I’ll remember that!” he called out as you left.
As you walked down the hall you convinced yourself that what you heard must have been them already leaving, and it just seemed to be right outside your door through your excitement.
Your mind landed on Loki. He has magic. Maybe he delivered them that way? But, he has only been here for two days...Maybe Wanda?
“Ugh” you exasperated as you made your way down the hall, earning a startled look from a nearby agent.
Getting into the elevator, you began talking to yourself “I just need to stop thinking about it. I’m sure they will show themselves when they are ready, and I will deal with it then. Yeah.”
You had hoped you’d convinced yourself, but you still felt the clear lingering curiosity and doubt. There was no way you could stop thinking about it. There was someone in this building who was apparently very much in love with you, and you had no idea who. That could drive anyone insane.
Tomorrow. There would surely be another delivery at some point. What would it be this time? Lillies? Roses?
Tomorrow. You couldn’t tell if you were anxious because you were nervous, or because you were excited. Maybe both. Yeah probably both.
Lets just wait until tomorrow. Who knows what will happen.
xx xx xx xx xx
oooh, foreshadowing???? Maybe~

Summer love is usually about sweet flings that end when school or work starts again. It starts in unexpected places with a smile and an ice cream, or with the adrenaline of meeting new places. Or at least that’s what happened to him.
Luckily, it didn’t go that way for both of you. It didn’t end!
Because it’s your third summer together and he can’t be happier. Even his feline babies love you so much, he has to bite his lips to not scream every single time Dori purrs approaching you and you coo at the kitten so cutely he just- Ugh. It’s no joke he is already searching for the perfect ring so he can propose.
There’s no way in hell he would find another soul like yours that blends so well with his, your sweet self is enough to calm him and make him feel at home, wherever he is. If you could open his heart and his brain, he would be so embarrassed because you would know he would do everything. Anything for you. You just need to say it and he is already thinking how to make it real.
But it’s ok, you won’t. Unless you are a secret cannibal and you kill him to eat his heart.
He chuckles out loud at the thought because he wouldn’t deny you his heart, you already have it anyway so he wouldn’t be upset if you eat it. You would just have to promise you won’t date another boy.
Minho just gets these thoughts as he wakes up from the nap he had holding your hand and here you are, like 10 centimeters away from him holding his hand even when you are not that clingy. The fact you are indeed a girl who isn’t into touch but you let him hug you and cuddle anytime makes him feel so good. So special. His free hand brushes your hair off your beautiful face, he can’t help but feel cheesy this moment so he caresses your cheek lovingly and kisses your forehead.
You stir a bit, but as the heavy sleeper you are, you put a leg on both of his -so he doesn’t escape and eat the last chips you mutter groggily- so he slaps your leg lightly and a small smile is on your face until you surrender again to sleep. Minho suddenly rolls his eyes. Are there people who know these intimate details about you besides him? Like you always put a leg on his body and you can’t open your eyes that easily, is there any chance there would be another guy after him who would know this? He pouts because it's frustrating to feel this way, so freaking protective. About your things, about your habits, about you. You.
Always you.
He feels the softest when you are like this, peacefully sleeping beside him in his oversized shirt and pajama pants that make you look like a homeless man. A homeless man that is going to steal his favorite hoodie, you would say. On these sunny and hot days, he has little bit of time to engulf in his feelings and think how lucky he got. Something he would never in a million years would voice out because Ew, the cringe. Especially when it’s summer. Because he gets small flashbacks about how he met you.

Hiking.
Hiking
Hiking!
What a better way to enjoy this beautiful summer than eating frozen fruits and walking through beautiful places? He originally planned to go to the mountain he enjoys the most, Jirisan but of course it would be too crowded.
So now he is here on a hiking tour. He didn't read the whole tour completely because he didn't want to miss this day and because Changbin wanted to come. And he doesn't like company when hiking or Changbin. Just kidding, he likes him but not when he whines which he would totally do in a long walk.
"Uh, sir? Are you not coming? I'm sorry but you are the last one to pass the bridge and the tour is being delayed right now." Minho bows apologetically and excuses himself saying that he would pay the extra fee to wait for the next group tour because he doesn't feel well. Of course the tour lady noticed him getting paler than a piece of paper when he was told to try sky-biking because it was included in the tour or he could pass that thin bridge that passes through both mountains. There was no other way to reach the beautiful sunset he was looking out for. But it was too high.
It looks dangerous and the vertigo hit right at his face as he is literally frozen right now, ugh.
It's ridiculous he is not going to see the sunset.
But he just can't move right now so he keeps a stern face to save himself the embarrassment and makes everyone laugh -group partners were getting really annoyed but well, Minho is funny- saying that he needed to pee because he was too excited. The female nods and makes a few calls, everyone starts taking pictures and distracting themselves as Minho looks at his phone just to notice his battery is going to die, it doesn't matter as he has a incredible high quality camera who is going to be very disappointed if he doesn't get those damn pictures of the sunset.
"Lee MinHo, right?" He nods and the female explains how this would work. So, this tour needs to keep going and as he is clearly pretty interested in hugging the tree that is right there to hold him, he should wait for the other group tour. It would cost him a lot because the next group tour has the option to stay the night to wait for the beautiful dawn. He agreed still because he wanted them pictures, it didn’t matter if he had to sneak in someone’s tent. “Your client’s code is 1441, please let it know to the next tour guide so he would include you in the other package.”
He buys an extra bottle of iced tea for everyone as he apologizes once more before he says goodbye and apologizes again to the rest of the group tour. Minho takes beautiful pictures as he walks near the damn bridge he doesn't want to cross but he needs to, he has around two hours to enjoy and to prepare himself.
You have to do it MinHo.
You have to.
"Are you sure you are going to hike that mountain? Like really sure?" He remembers Changbin questioning him and MinHo gasped. That asshat knew about the thin bridge.
Whatever, he is already here.
He is distracted with the beautiful little birds that let him take photos of them when he hears noise about a group coming. His moment to shine has come.
He just needs to look forward and not down because he would probably die. Ok, he 's ready. Really ready. Completely ready.
Oof.
"I'm not ready!" What- He is engulfed in his own thoughts of being terrified of heights, he didn't notice the girl that is making a funny scene about being nervous. MinHo approaches the group taking out his headphones and feels a bit better, he is not the only one having a mental breakdown because of the damn bridge. Everyone hypes her up to cross the bridge and cheers, she ties her hair up and gives a step forward and squeals.
"I'm sorry my friends! But I'll need a diaper."
"Uh, excuse me? Is this the second group of the tour to see the dawn?" He approaches the lady who had the little bright flag and after she nods kindly, he gives her his ticket saying his client code was 1441. "Oh yes! Come with us, please. This group usually goes slower so take your time to cross the bridge as you see, there's another client who is a bit nervous."
"I'm not nervous, I just wanted to take more pictures."He says and the lady nods and smiles, the tour guide seems close to the girl laughing anxiously that tries to cross the bridge because she whispers to her something about being a chicken. The girl, undeniable attractive just keeps laughing, voicing out she hopes to not die today. "Huh? Another person that is afraid to cross? Where?"
Damn. They are talking about him. The smile that was on his face dissipates and turns into a serious frown as he tries to appear concentrated to look at some flower. "Guys keep going, I will cross alone and safe! I promise!" MinHo hears the girl say to the group and hurried steps that come closer to him after that. "Hi? Are you the scaredy cat?"
"What?" He quickly turns around and scoffs, she is the scandalous one and she starts with this, pfft. "Are you talking about yourself? I don't remember being the one who squealed."
"Yeah right. Come on! Don't be shy, let's cross together because I'm scared too."
"I'm not scared!"
"Mr. 1441, please. We can be stubborn after crossing this bridge." You stick out your hand at him and he raises an eyebrow. "Are you going to give me a piggyback ride or what? Because Miss Chicken, I am not interested."
"What- Chicken? You are the chicken! Oh, is this a way to ask for my name? I'm Y/N."
"MinHo. But I wasn't asking."
"Me neither, MinHo." You laugh as he doesn't have an answer and you grab his hand. "Let's do this together, it's okay to scream and insult. I do that a lot so I don't mind."
" Wait, wait!" He says as he is dragged by Y/N, the girl who seems eager to cross but is as much as terrified as him or even more. "Why are you so eager if the lady said we can take it easily? You were screaming a second ago!"
"I know but the adrenaline is awesome and someone who understands the frightening feeling will make you feel secure, I promise two chickens make a good team."
"I'm not a chick-" His words die as he is at the start of the bridge, instinctively he holds your hand tightly. He takes a deep breath and looks at you, you smile at him. MinHo wants to run away but something in your secure hold of hand makes him believe.
"So you don't have friends to come with?"
"I do have friends! How can you come to that conclusion just by one look? You also look like a loner." He bickers and you immediately answer. "I am not a loner! The lady guide is my friend, she said this dawn is going to be probably the most beautiful of the year as the weather is awesome."
"Oh really?"
"Yeah! I hope you didn't bring too much stuff because it's hot up there, people don't even bring tents and prefer to talk with everyone and take naps looking at the stars and stuff like that, it's pretty safe too and the tour gives tents if you feel uncomfortable."
"Really?"
"Of course! Is this your first time hiking this mountain?" He nods and as the conversation dies for a moment he remembers he is actually on a freaking bridge that looked too thin to hold him safely so he looks down. He is stepping on plain land.
He crossed the bridge bickering with the woman he is still holding hands with.
Wow.
MinHo bickers a bit more to hold her hand a bit more as she gets distracted easily. Y/N. It is a pretty name.
He smiles.
"So are you going to ask me out or are you ready to let go of my hand?" There is a tiny possibility he would have choked on his idea tea at this statement.
"Wow, that was smooth and pretty direct." He lets go of her hand and she laughs. "I don't date chickens though."
"I don't date chickens either." He scoffed at her attitude, damn. Is there a divinity of summer he can thank for?
After a night of bickering and photos of the incredible dawn, you agreed to give him your number so he would send the pictures he took.
It would be the first of many hiking trips that would turn into summer dates.
Tumblr media
You open your eyes finally and your hands search for your phone to see the hour. You slept two hours! Felix said he would call for you to come and eat brownies with MinHo.
"Shouldn't you search for me first?" Your boyfriend sat on the end of the bed eating the last bag of chips making you whine.
"MinHo! Spill my chips!"
"Give me your hand to spill it."
"Ew."
"Tell Felix you are a taken chicken. He is not going to seduce you with brownies, you are more spoiled than anyone could ever think."
"Listen chicken, sweet Australian man is going to invite us both brownies so shut up. Also go tattoo yourself the word taken on your forehead. Girls think my chip robber is single? Tsk." As always, your unexpected statements make him choke, this time on the chips and laughs at your rolling eyes. "Am I spoiled? When? Where?"
MinHo throws himself on you and tickles you until you are kicking him off you, showing him the white blanket as a surrender sign.
"Should we go on a hiking date?" You suddenly ask.
"Why?"
"Why not? Maybe I want to commit murder and take revenge because they were my favorite chips."
"Jirisan?"
"No, the one we met!"
"Huh? Really?" He takes his phone and casually books a tour already for this weekend. "Maybe I should propose to you so you won't kill me."
You both laugh.
But he isn't joking. He also messages the boutique, he would need the ring for this weekend.

You panted heavily as you ran through thick fog and towering trees. Your hand griping firmly around the hilt of your nichirin blade. Your eyes were darting from every direction, waiting for another demon to pop out of nowhere and take a slash at you. There was rustling ahead of you and prepared your blade. You brought both your hand to your blade handle and lifted your arms to swing when-
‘Shit, it’s a slayer!’
A small boy with long black hair and a red haori looked at you frightened as you had your blade lifted, ready to slice him down. You couldn’t stop yourself, you had already charged and you couldn’t stop now. In a flash, another boy appears out of seemingly nowhere and connects your two swords, pushing you away with his strength.
You went skidding to the side and almost tumbled over. You were too much in a panic of almost slicing another slayer to process the boy’s strength. After you got your grounding, you quickly jog to the two boys, “I’m so sorry! The fog was so thick and I thought it was a demon! Please excuse my incompetence!” You bowed low to the two boys just to hear one of them scoff.
“Maybe you shouldn’t be a slayer if you cannot tell the difference between human and demon.” The boy with pinkish hair spat.
You cocked a brow at the boy and thought to yourself ‘what’s with this kid??’ You opened your mouth to argue before the boy with black hair interrupted, “It-it’s fine, Sabito. I’m sure she didn’t mean it.”
“Tch, fine. Just as long as she learns her lesson.”
You raised your brow at the pink haired boy with squared patterned haori again. You then noticed that the both of them had fox masks on.
“Oh? What are those. They look very nice. Whoever made them must be really good at woodcarving.”
“It’s a warding mask,” replied the pink haired boy, “to help keep evil spirits and demons away. The craftsmanship is very good. Urokodaki Sensei is very talented and taught us all we know.”
“And you two are?”
“I’m Sabito and this here is Giyuu...”
“Ah, hello Sabito, Giyuu. I’m Y/N,” you bow once again and they do the same, greeting you. “Let’s just forget that incident. I’m sorry, Giyuu.” You smile at him and he timidly tells you it was alright and that they’ll look past it now.
You tagged along with the two for a couple a days. You were very surprised by how strong Sabito was. He was saving everyone and no demon was too strong for him. It was amazing watching him. Giyuu was strong as well but Sabito kept outshining him.
One day, a demon attacked the three of you and you ended up getting separated from the two and finished the rest of Final Slection on your own. Once you reached the wisteria section of the mountain to claim your ore and uniform, you were too out of it from injuries and exhaustion that you didn’t see Sabito or Giyuu again. You figured they’d both be alright though.

Years had passed and you had become stronger. You accomplished Total Concentration Breathing Constant and slayed a number of demons. You quickly climbed the ranks as you went on more mission and killed more demons. Eventually you were finally able to slay one of the Twelve Kizuki and was given the message to join the Hashiras.
You were pretty banged up from the demon and met Shinobu before any of the other Pillars. She tended your wounds and gave you medicated water to ease your pain before guiding you to Master Ubuyashiki’s garden where everyone else had been waiting.
You felt very nervous to see such a range of people. Two of them were very, very tall and stood in the way of seeing some of the other pillars.
They were all greeting you and asking you a ton of questions. Many of them were very proud to see another slayer defeat a Twelve Kizuki and join them in the ranks. Eventually, Master Ubuyashiki made his appearance and everyone got in line to kneel to him. You did the same until he called you up front to introduce you to everyone. You were finally able to see all of the pillars now that everyone was in line. You scan through until you see a familiar face, farthest away and the end of the line.
You eyes widen after seeing a familiar red haori with raven, black hair sat on top and ocean blue eyes staring right back at you. ‘I can’t believe it,’ you thought to yourself, ‘It’s Giyuu! I thought I’d never see him again!’ You were ecstatic to talk to him again but had to wait until Ubuyashiki had dismissed everyone first.
The meeting finally came to an end and you made a beeline to Giyuu, ignoring all the other pillars who wanted to ask further questions.
“Giyuu?! Is that you? It’s me! Y/N! We were in final selection together! Gods, I can’t believe it! I thought I’d never see you again!” He’d grown a lot since you last saw him. His hair was longer, his jaw was more defined and you now had to look up to meet his eyes. Dare you say he looked more handsome.
“Y-Y/N, Its been so long.” Giyuu stuttered out, completely flustered. He could feel his cheeks burning the more he spoke with you. You hadn’t grown much in height but your body filled out more and your hair had gotten a bit longer as well. He was nervous to say that you were making his heart flutter again.
“Don’t be so shy, give me a hug!! I can’t belive you’re a Hashira, how did that even happen?” You continued on as you outstretched your arms to pull Giyuu in. He was very stiff and awkward but couldn’t resist embracing you after thinking you’ve been dead for years. He was completely wrong. You were strong, so strong in fact that you managed to take out one of the Twelve Kizuki and became a Pillar. For some strange reason, he felt so proud of you despite not seeing you for so long.
All the other Pillars just stared in disbelief and confusion. Who where you? How did you know Tomioka? How did you get him to talk? How the heck did you get him to hug you?! And how were you making him so flustered?!?! He’s stoic!!
After pulling away from the hug, you opened your mouth to ask about Sabito when you noticed the other half of his haori. Your eyes softened and touched the yellow and green patterns, you heart sinking a little. You bring your eyes back to Giyuu’s, “Did... did Sabito... not... not make it...?” You ask him sadly, tears threatening to swell your eyes. Giyuu’s eye become very sad as he looks to the side and just simply shakes his head.
“I’m so sorry, Giyuu... he was a very good man. I’m sure he’ll be reincarnated, his heart was very kind and pure.”
The other Pillars finally interrupted and started bombarding you with more questions and you spent some time talking with all of them and keeping Giyuu close to you since he kept trying to leave. You still wanted to talk with him afterwards.

“Ugh, what a relief!” You let out as you stretch your arms upwards, “I thought they’d never stop asking questions.”
You and Giyuu were walking side by side and leaving Ubuyashiki’s garden.
You excitedly turn to Giyuu, you eyes sparkling as you made contact with his deep, ocean blue ones, “We have so much to catch up on! Tell me, Giyuu, what Pillar are you?”
The both of you spoke all night and caught eachother up on a lot of things. You talked a bit more than Giyuu did of course, but he still replied and shared enough of his thoughts to not make it seem like you were talking to a brick wall.

Giyuu was so relieved to see that you were okay. He knows he didn’t know you a lot but there was just something so magnetizing about you when you first met. He couldn’t help but feel so interested in you. You’d occasionally come across his mind the years you weren’t there and he would just wonder what you were up to. Pessimism would often creep in and make him think that you might already be dead. He tried his best to shake those thoughts but there was a high chance of that being the reality. Being a slayer never guaranteed a safe future.
It turns out all those pessimistic thoughts were wrong and now here you were, reunited with him. He couldn’t understand why he was so overjoyed to see you again. His heart pounded a bit more around you now than it did years ago. It confused him how you made his thoughts hazy and his temperature rise. But most importantly, he was just so relieved that you were still alive. And to top it all off, you became a Hashira. I mean, a Hashira! The new Lighting Pillar! It made him feel so proud of you. He couldn’t believe you were that strong. Not that he ever doubted you, he just feared that since he enjoyed your presence that you’d be doomed to die too soon.
But now you’re here, stronger than he could have ever imagined, and he was not going to let you leave his side ever again.

You know you were supposed to feel safer than ever, with that recently established guild of “superheroes” supposedly keeping an eye on the city… but honestly, you weren’t feeling any better than you normally did walking through the darkened alleyways. Especially since the heroes tend to be so distant, soaring high in the sky… while the man behind you seemed so close. As you walk faster, so does he, his darkened silhouette growing ever nearer as your mind races, wondering what he wants, hoping it’s all just a coincidence and you’re merely walking down the same alleyway by complete coincidence…
“Hey!” At the sound of his booming voice echoing through the alleyway, you froze like a deer in headlights. As he stomped up to you, you could see the glint of the street lights on the blade of his knife. “You! Break yourself!” You started at him, doe-eyed and unmoving - transfixed at first by the mugger himself, and then, by the silhouette of something from far up above landing amid the garbage piles behind him, unnoticed. “You heard me. Empty those pockets! Let’s make this real easy, huh?” As he advanced, you backed away, frightened not by him, but by the even larger silhouetted figure sneaking up behind him! “Are you dead!? Don’t make me cut y- mph!” Suddenly, two hands popped out of the darkness from behind him, grasping him close!
The knife clatters against the ground as you watch in confusion and horror, muffled screams filling the alley as the silhouette envelops him. It’s hard to even tell what’s happening, the view only barely illuminated by the distant street lights. What little you can discern, your mind refuses to believe. In the silhouettes of their shadows, you see the figure lifting the man off the ground, thrusting him - dare you even think it - between their lips? His screams grew ever more muffled, until they were at last drowned out by messy slurps and powerful gulps, accompanied by an orchestra of gastric moans and bubbling gurgles. His legs are hoisted up into the air, kicking violently as they’re pulled ever deeper with sickening swallows, until gradually disappearing as the two shadows become one. The swift, nature-defying process was capped off by the sounds of lips smacking contentedly, and a deafening, echoing belch.
Out from the darkness, a young woman stepped alone, the man nowhere to be seen except, perhaps, if you count the hand, feet and face prints clearly bulging out her stretched-taut belly even through her outfit. Said bulges were hidden somewhat by the layers of fat that settled on her pudgy figured - apparently, this was far from her first meal of this sort. She was dressed in a purple cape, eye mask, and spandex leotard with a logo of an open mouth over her belly. “Have no fear, citizen! You’ve been rescued from that dastardly ne’er-do-well by… the Glorious Greedyguts!” She spoke in a stereotypical superhero voice, hands proudly on her hips. When you stood there in stunned silence, though, she got a little nervous. “I understand that my methods may be, umm… unconventional! B-but… we don’t get to choose our powers, you know… the point is that I saved you, right?” The silence continued, and she grew more nervous still, perhaps even desperate. “Look, I’m new to this whole heroing thing, and I’m trying my best over here, okay? Please don’t freak out! I - ugh!”
She was interrupted by a painful kick in the ribs from the mugger imprisoned in her big fat stomach, enough to bring her to her knees. You acted on impulse, kneeling down to help her… and shuddering when you pressed those hands into the deep squishiness of her gut. Like it or not… watching her devour him like that had actually been entrancing! Soon, you were kneading and massaging her belly in earnest, feeling her belly prisoner move as he was sloshed around in that caustic stomach as it began digesting him. She sighed in bliss, leaning back and letting out a few more burps. “Thank you… this guy’s a real fighter… ooooh, that’s nice…” Eventually, the man had been more or less subdued by her powerful stomach, yet you still played with it, molding her fat like dough in your hands. “Listen, I know how weird and gross my power is. I wish I could’ve gotten something different… I guess you probably hate me now, though, just like everybody else does after they see I’m basically a cannibal.” It hurt you to see her so down about herself. So… you simply told her the truth. Her eyes widened, and her cheeked reddened. “W-what? You… you actually like my power…!? Truly?”
She seemed relieved and flattered, smiling warmly as you help her lift her heavy body to her feet. She now flaunts her belly proudly, swaying it back and forth and letting it slosh gently before your hypnotized gaze. You can’t help but to ask if she’d want to have dinner at your favorite restaurant sometime. “Oooh! Of course! I love that place! But, uh… careful not to run into any more muggers on the way there. Although, I certainly wouldn’t mind making use of my power for you again, if you really like it so much…” She giggled. You can’t take your eyes off her belly as you exchange numbers, imagining stuffing it with a buffets worth of food - or even villains! “Well, great! It’s so nice to meet someone who appreciates what I’m doing out here! I’ll be seeing you around for sure, sweetheart.”
And with that, the gluttonous hero flew off once more into the night sky, her belly sloshing about as she soared over the city.

Todoroki Family Ties (Part 9)
Characters: Enji Todoroki, Stepmom!OC!Ivy (Ivy is black btw), Child!Shoto Todoroki, Teen!Touya Todoroki, Preteen!Fuyumi, Child!Natsuo
Fandom: My Hero Academia/Boku No Hero Academia
Warnings: pregnancy, hospital, hysteria, child abuse, Aquaphobia, upset child, abusive family, neglect
“Enji, it’s okay. Please try to calm down. Everything is going to be fine.” Ivy comforted her husband, putting a hand on his leg in an attempt to keep it from bouncing so much. “I know, I know. Just a little nervous, that’s all.” He sighed, looking down at his hands while he rubbed his palms. They were the only ones in the room right now. It was cold and white everywhere apart from the delightful little flower clusters. The atmosphere was mostly quiet except for the tapping of keyboards and damp sounds of phones ringing in some of the offices.
“I mean…. what if it’s true? How could I be so careless? I should’ve been thinking clearly. I should’ve thought more about you. Things were just finally going so right and I was so distracted by excitement. So many good things were falling in to place. It’s…. It’s all my fault that we’re here today.” He brought her hand up from his thigh and kissed her knuckles. “Please, forgive me.” All she could do was smile at how nervous he was. “Forgive you for what, baby? Nothing bad has happened. Being here is a big part of the journey. It’s where our path is decided for us. I’m excited. You should be, too.”
Enji wrapped his arms around her with a tight squeeze. “You’re right. You’re absolutely right.” She always did know how to make the best of a situation that seemed frightening. Maybe it was the way of words. Maybe it was the sweet and calm voice that did it for him. Whatever it was, he was happy to be able to access it. Having her next to him was going to make this move a lot smoother, and he couldn’t ask for anything better right now.
Their moment of peace was interrupted by a nurse dressed in lovely pink scrubs. “Todoroki?” Her voice was gentle and nice as well as her smile while she patiently waited for the two to stand and follow her. On the way to their room, Ivy glanced into the rooms they passed. In one, a couple was finding out some good news. They looked excited. In another, a woman seemed to be having a good check up. And the last one was different than the other two. A woman leaned against her sad husband as she cried. The doctor also had a sad and sympathetic look on her face. Those sure were some interesting situations to witness. Which one would represent her and Enji’s?
“This room right here. Doctor Akari will be right with you.” The two parties bowed to each other before she left and they entered the room. Enji looked around the room and sighed. It was so weird to be here again. The rooms had changed a bit since the last time he was on this same floor seven years ago. ‘Wow. Seven. I’m getting old.’ He was quickly brought back to reality by Ivy. “I’m really glad we’re here today. This is good.” Her smile brought so much ease to him. How lucky is he to have someone like her.
A quiet knock on the door gathered their attention. In walked an older woman. Her hair was still a dark brown so she couldn’t have been that much older but you could see some of the age in her kind face. There was a bit of height difference between them, her being taller than Ivy, shorter than Enji of course. She carefully closed the door behind her before setting her chart on the table and introducing herself. “I’m Dr. Akari, nice to meet you today, Mr. and Mrs. Todoroki.” She shook their hands and continued. “Amazing, I never thought I’d be meeting, let alone working for the number two hero. I guess dreams do come true.” Enji blushed, rubbing the back of his neck. “Heh. Always nice to meet a fan.”
“So. We’re here for a verification today, correct? How are you feeling? Mrs. Todoroki, is this your first?” Ivy nodded. “Yes, ma’am. I-I’ve really never been in any type of situation like this before. I’m excited and kinda nervous. Sorry.” Dr. Akari held Ivy’s hands in her own. “Sweetheart. You don’t need to apologize. Being nervous is apart of this. A big part. That’s not to say that it’ll be a bad experience. It is what you make it. And I have so much faith that this is going to be an amazing and beautiful new part of your life. You’re going to be great at this.” Her smile was warm and reassuring. Maybe everything really will be okay. “Should we get this thing started?” Ivy looked at Enji and back at Dr. Akari with a grin. “Let’s do it.”
The test and results took no time at all to come back to them. “Congratulations, Mr. and Mrs. Todoroki. You’re having a baby.” Excitement quickly grew on Ivy’s face, brown eyes big and full of tears when she looked at Enji who hugged her tight, kissing the top of her head. “Wonderful news! Wonderful! Wonderful!” He was so energetic and happy like a child himself. The fifth child and he’s still taken aback as if it’s his first. Ivy stayed a little calmer herself. “I’m so happy. This is everything I’ve ever wanted…. A dream come true.” The doctor hugged Ivy when Enji finally pulled away. “I’m so happy for you two. You have my full adoration. I know you’re going to be an amazing mother. Before you know it, you’ll have a quirky and spontaneous bundle of joy in your arms.” Ivy froze.
‘….Quirky?’
Enji thanked the doctor a few more times before leaving and while they walked to the car, he noticed something was off about Ivy. She kept her gaze towards the ground and hadn’t said a word since leaving the doctor’s office. After a short walk they arrived at the car, Ivy got in the passenger seat and patiently waited for Enji to get in and close his door. As soon as the car door shut, Ivy broke down hysterically… “FUCK! FUCK! FUCKING! FUCK!” Honestly, it scared him a bit. She was fine a few minutes ago and now she’s upset? “IVY? WHAT’S WRONG?” She started hyperventilating, forcing him to pull Ivy into his lap and hold her. “Breathe! Breathe. Slow down. In….. Out….” It took a minute before she could match his breathing. Eventually, they were in sync and she began to calm down and got back into the passenger seat.
“Alright. What in the hell was that?” He didn’t mean to sound irritated, he was just genuinely confused about what just manifested. “I-I’m sorry but…. I-I can’t do this. I-I-I can’t be a mom.” Tears were still falling but she tried to wipe them away as fast as they came. “Wha…. What do you mean?” His brows were furrowed and his face contorted. “Enji…. I-I was so excited at first. And, I still am in some ways…. But…. what happens when…. w-when we have this child…. and they don’t have a quirk because of me? I wasn’t even thinking about it until Dr. Akari said the word quirky and all of a sudden it hit me. My child is going to be weak because of me…. They’re going to hate me. I know you want a strong child with a strong quirk but I-…. I-I can’t give you that.”
To be honest, he hadn’t thought of it either. But that was the old him anyways. He’s grown since then. Quirks aren’t everything to him anymore. Just her. Just his family. No matter what skills they had or didn’t have. He loves them in every aspect. “Ivy…. I don’t need you to give me that. I want you to be happy and healthy. I want to have this child with you no matter what happens. As long as you’re both okay, that’s what’s important. I know how I used to be. And I’m still sorry and trying to atone for it. I’m learning and growing every day because of you. I appreciate and love you so much.” His large hand held her cheek as he searched her eyes for a sign that she understood him.
A wave of safety washed over her as she leaned into his hand. So much calm after one random storm. “You’re right. You are learning. You have grown. And I am beyond proud of you. I’m sorry for my outburst. It wasn’t all about you. Being quirkless has always been a problem for me. Way before me and you. You’ve improved in ways that…. he never did.” Her gaze shifted to her feet when thoughts and feelings she had long ago returned. “Who?” When her gaze came back her eyes were brimming with tears of numb pain.“My dad….”
From a very young age, Ivy was victim to some of the most impactful abuse that young girls have suffered for centuries. Familial. Being the outcast, the one child that didn’t make the cut. Worked hard and reprimanded for occurrences out of her power. Her power. The center of everything and the reason for her suffering. More commonly known as a quirk, her ability should have been water manipulation. It ran in her family. They’ve always been connected to it all. Oceans, lakes, rain, dew, snow. A gene for telekinesis brought in from one of her great great grandparents but no one remembers which one.
“LET’S GO, LET’S GO, LET’S GO!” Nami James Emaraki, Ivy’s father, blew hard into his whistle. It’s not that common for a ten-year old to have to do burpees and laps on a Saturday morning. Especially since she’s not training for anything. “YOU SLACK AND I SWEAR ITS ANOTHER TEN LAPS!! YOU ALREADY MISSED BREAKFAST SINCE YOU WANNA SLEEP IN, I’M PERFECTLY FINE WITH YOU MISSING LUNCH CAUSE I’LL STILL EAT BUT YOU WON’T!!!!” He wasn’t kidding either. That threat wasn’t the least bit empty.
“I-” Her foot slipped and caused her to face plant. She lifted her head and a stream of blood ran from her nose. “OW! UGH! H-Help, please!” Rolling his eyes, he stomped over to her, grabbing a fist full of her hair. “Sure, I’ll help you. Usually salt water helps with things like that. Let’s get you a lot of salt water.” He looked at the pool and smiled. “How about 10 ft?” Panic flooded her entire body so quickly it almost made her dizzy. Or maybe that was from the quick face plant and loss of blood.
“N-No! Please!” Ignoring her, he began dragging her to the deep end of their pool. “I’m so sorry, I can keep going! I can keep going! Daddy I can keep going!” She couldn’t help but cry and scream for forgiveness because he always had such a terrible punishment for her. The closer they got the more she struggled. “DADDY PLEASE! PLEASEPLEASEPLEASE NO! NO-” He tossed her in with a grunt and picked up his stopwatch. “Hurry up. You don’t wanna drown, use your quirk to get out!”
But that was the issue. Ivy was quirkless. It never showed up when it was supposed to. They hoped she was a late bloomer but it wasn’t looking very hopeful. Her father and uncle did everything they can to bring it out of her. They were so close they moved into two joint houses for each of their families, between the two homes, a facility with a large indoor pool that they used to coach swimming and have opened for water sports and activities. Every child in their family has used this pool to get better at their quirks. But Ivy was the only one forced into fearing it, unlike her siblings and cousins.
The eldest children were Ivy’s older twin brother and sister who were six years older than her, as well as a male cousin four years older than her. They were taught everything with care and detail. How to swim, how to make waves, etc. Next, her cousin that was but a few months older than her. He also experienced the life of being the middle child like her. Ivy was born next. Treated like all the other kids until she reached the age where quirks usually had already appeared in their family.
Four. When the family pediatrician attempted to explain that her quirk would never come in due to an extra joint in her foot, that of which the absence of would determine if the power would ever come in. Her father was so upset when they got home, he grabbed her by the ankles and dunked her in the water a few times before dropping her in the 5 feet. Her mother stood and watched as paramedics revived Ivy, pretending very well to be concerned.
Yet, here he is now. Watching her sink as she loses oxygen. Destined to be a corpse at the bottom of the pool. But just before tragedy could wrap her up in its claws, her father washed her back onto the side of the pool with a wave. There she laid in a puddle, lungs full of water. “So damn dramatic.” Unrightfully annoyed, he preformed mouth to mouth and saved her, smacking her when she accidentally spit up water in his face. “You’re a disgusting excuse for a daughter. But just you wait, you’ll be a hero soon enough. And you’re gonna be supporting your family after we’ve been so supportive of you. Get your ass up and come inside when you’re through acting like something wrong with you.”
Nami didn’t even look back after he started walking way. He didn’t care if she ever got up. To him, she has two options in life. Become a top pro-hero. Or die. And some days, she wished he wouldn’t save her. Some days she wanted to stay at the bottom of that pool knowing she wouldn’t be able to breathe. Ivy couldn’t help but wonder, what’s the point of living if your entire family is already disappointed in you?
During lunch, her mother Eimi asked her about today’s training. “How did it go today, Ivy?” She smiled, looking between her and her father. Ivy didn’t want to answer so she kept her mouth shut. “Ivy, your mama is talking to you. Answer her.” His fist slammed down on the table. The back of her throat burned from swallowing her need to cry. “Ivy? Answer her, girl, can you not hear?!” She flinched at him raising his voice. With a quiet sigh, Ivy spoke, carefully trying not to let her voice crack. “It w-was fine, mommy. But….” She couldn’t take it anymore. She had to speak up.
“B-BUT DADDY TRIED TO KILL MEEEEE!!” Cries broke out of her throat. “CONTROL YOUR DAMN VOLUME RIGHT NOW!” He tried to grab her arm but she ducked out of the way. “MAMA I FELL AND HURT MY FACE AND MY NOSE WAS BLEEDING AND HE THREW ME IN THE POOL AND ALMOST LET ME DROOOOOOWN!!!!” Tears dripped from her chin as she trembled and sobbed. Eimi just looked at Nami and shrugged. “Well, Ivy. Maybe if you stopped pretending your quirk isn’t there, you could have saved yourself. So I don’t want to hear it.” Ivy was horrified and offended by every word out of her mother’s mouth. “WHAT? BUT MOMMY-” “THAT’S ENOUGH! YOU’RE GOING TO YOUR ROOM!” Before she could run, he grabbed her and carried her to her room as she struggled. “I HATE IT HERE! I HATE IT, HATE IT, HATE IT!!” Once the door slammed close, she hugged one of her stuffed animals tight and cried. And cried. And cried. Until she cried herself to sleep.
Ivy had ever only known Hell on Earth. Her siblings before her were treated with respect. Even her baby brother and even younger baby sister got to see the best from their parents. Ivy was the one that they wanted to depend on. Their goals for her were to make her one of the most famous Pro-Heroes ever. Then use her paycheck to further their lives. She would put them on the map and be their little bank. But the older she got, the more she fought back. Until finally they realized she’d never be able to help them anyways.
Ivy was shunned and kicked out of her home. Forced to learn the way of the world. She made her way through three nice jobs and even college. Out of all the smoke and fire, she emerged through her trials and tribulations and began working at Endeavor’s agency. Her hardships didn’t end there but shortly after, everything started to work out for her.
Her past was filled with evil but it never influenced her to become a bad person even after never getting her quirk. She realized that quirks never really mattered. It was the love that she never received. Love that she’ll be giving to this baby. She wouldn’t be able to live with herself if her child ever had to go through what she went through.
The world outside was so beautiful as they drove home. She looked at Enji and smiled. He sparkled in the sunlight. Those beautiful blue eyes focusing on the road while he held her hand up and kissed it. “You’re gonna be okay, Ivy. I love you so much. You’re going to be a great mom. And, I hope i can be a great father. On the fifth try.” The reassurance made her grin. “Thank you, Enji. Thank you.”

Welcome to the Back - Interlude
Adrien centric. Basically an apology for all that chameleon induced salt I had on him during wttb.
Masterpost
Adrien sneaked a look outside. There was a gap between the panels that made up the background of the show, just large enough to peek out without being seen. It was quiet here, away from the bustling make-up artists and designers, hurrying to put finishing touches on their assigned models. His father wasn’t among them of course. He was Gabriel Agreste and didn’t need to improve anything, his designs long since perfected during late nights in his atelier. And he had full faith in his son!
(“I trust that you know how important this is,” he had said this morning, with face like marble, “how crucial it is to not lose face when working with the competition. I have no doubt you will behave accordingly.”)
Still. His happiness that his father had taken the time to build him up did not keep him from scanning the crowd for him. Was he there already? Or would he arrive in a way his mother called “fashionably late”?
Sighing, he turned away from the panels. He wasn’tsad that his father didn’t visit him before the show. Really, he had already talked to him only hours ago and was doubtlessly busy; Adrien shouldn’t be selfish.
Besides, it wasn’t like he was on his own.
“Are you nervous?”, he asked the other model when he returned to their private changing room. “There are so many people out there!”
Felix Leanne rolled his eyes, but his finger was tapping on the table relentlessly.
“Of course there are many people. Otherwise this whole ordeal wouldn’t be worth the hassle.”
“You’re dodging the question,” Adrien noted with a tiny hint of smugness. He liked Felix, even though he was a little cold sometimes. They had worked together often enough to be on friendly terms, both being the only models of each other’s age in their shoots. Both fairly isolated, both so busy.
Felix sighed.
“I’m not. Nervous, I mean. Just impatient.”
His eyes flitted towards the door.
“Mum… Mum said I can start accompanying her to work if I do well tonight. I’d get to see how everything actually works! I wrote down so many questions I want to ask. I just want to be able to askthem already.”
Adrien frowned.
“Aren’t you a little too young to be so interested in… company math?”
“We’re the same age, Adrien.”
“Exactly! The same youngage.” He couldn’t hold in a deep sigh. “If mymom offered to let me do anything I want, I would ask to go to a real school. No more homeschooling, just… doing something normal for once. I’d get to meet so many people, to make so many friends!”
Felix pretended to shudder.
“Ugh, people. Horrific.” He ignored Adrien’s giggling. “Seriously, they’re everywhere.”
“I bet you could go to school with me!” he, in turn, ignored Felix’ nagging. “Then we’d already know someone there. Plus Chloé, of course.”
Felix grimaced at the name but refrained from commenting. He’d learned that Adrien didn’t handle it well if you openly disliked his only friend. He wouldn’t have had the time, anyway, because just then a blur of oranges and yellows stormed into the room, carrying dozens of safety pins and wearing several dozens more clipped to her dress.
“Felix!”, Evelynn Leanne squealed, “you look wonderful, darling, navy blue just makes your eyes pop! Let me see the jacket, will you? Oh, this looks a little tight! It doesn’t chafe, does it? Does it?”
“Mum, stop it! Personal space, please.”
Felix pulled a face when his mother gave his jacket one last tug before stepping back.
“Of course, of course. It’s just… Ugh, you look adorable! Doesn’t he, Ms. Cess?”
The Leanne’s assistant, a round black woman that looked absolutely unshakable, gave Felix a small smile.
“He looks like a professional.”
Felix didn’t beam. Adrien was sure his face was physically incapable to. But the hint of a smile that graced his usually tight lips might be his version of that.
“Thank you,” he said genuinely, before sobering up again. “Now, if you’d leave me to prepare? Also, I’m pretty sure you have more than one design to check up on.”
Evelyn sighed, just the way her son was prone to do.
“Let me have my moment, will you? But fine! I still haven’t heard any news from the missing accessory line, and that Sancœur lady was very adamant that it be complete. Good luck, Felix! You too, Adrien! Love your tie, by the way.”
He perked up immediately.
“Thank you, Madame Leanne!”, he tried to answer, but Felix was already hurrying her and Mademoiselle Cess out of the door. When they were gone, his coworker was leaning against the door in relief and Adrien’s throat felt weirdly tight.
“Sorry about that,” Felix said nonchalantly, “she’s been a little clingy since… you know.”
Of course. The divorce, he’d read about it in the newspaper. He couldn’t imagine how horrible it would be to lose his father like that, how terrible Felix must feel.
“Are you okay?” the (slightly) older boy asked after a moment. “You were so quiet.”
Adrien shook his head, shushing those thoughts.
“Of course! Your mother is great, I just… Mine can’t be here today. She’s still not feeling well.”
An understatement, he feared. His father wouldn’t let him into her room to say goodbye before he went to the show. He was just worried, of course! And he’d explained it to him.
(“Don’t bother your mother now, Adrien. She needs her rest.”
“I just wanted to see her before the show. To say goodbye- “
His father flinched at that; his tone sharp.
“There’s no need to- She’ll still be here after the show! Don’t- Don’t let your nerves get the better of you.”
Then, a little softer: “You can talk to her tomorrow.”)
Felix looked at him through somber blue eyes.
“I’m… sorry to hear that. But your father will be here, yes?”
Hurrying to smile, Adrien nodded.
“Yes, we’ll drive home together.”
At that, Felix’ eyes narrowed.
“Uh… great? But before that he’ll want to see you, won’t he?”
To be honest, he was never quite sure what his father wanted. But that wasn’t what this was about, anyway!
“He is very busy,” Adrien explained. “Managing the Show, and all that. But that’s alright! It’s very important to him, and I’m happy to be part of it. It makes me feel… I don’t know, closer to him.”
Felix’ did not relent.
“But don’t you want him to say Good Luck or something? Surely, he can’t be thatbusy.”
“Well…” he admitted. “I… I did hope he’d come by. Like your mom always does. But I don’t want to be greedy! He’s needed elsewhere, probably.”
He straightened.
“Besides, I don’t want to complain to you. With all that… divorce business you’ve already got on your shoulders.”
It was a cheap trick to change the topic, but it worked. Felix scoffed and turned away.
“Oh please, I’m happymy Dad isn’t here. Not that he would care, anyway. I barely saw him even before Mum kicked him out, and what I saw of him was distant, dismissive and derogatory at best. Really, I could never see him again and not lose any sleep about it.”
Adrien couldn’t believe anyone could truly feel that way about their father. Sure, he was disappointed in his father from time to time, sometimes even angry. But he was still, well, his father.
“I’m sure he does love you.”, he tried to comfort his friend. “Maybe if you gave him another chance, he would- “
“I don’t want to talk about it.” Felix snapped, still not looking at him. “He had thirteen years’ worth of chances. I won’t let him… I won’t stand for that kind of inconsequence.”
With that, he straightened his shoulders and turned around.
“Besides, you’re hardly unbiased. It’s rather obvious you’re projecting.”
His voice was harsher than intended and it showed. No sooner than he said it, his eyes widened and he looked away.
“I… I meant…”
“I’m not projecting.”, Adrien said. His voice was oddly quiet to his own ears, and his chest felt cold. “I’m not- I love my père. He’s not- I love him. You don’t know him. He’s just- I’m sure you love your father too, deep down.”
He didn’t know what his own face looked like, but Felix looked stricken.
“Yes,” he said softly, caving, “I guess so. I didn’t mean to imply…”
“It’s okay,” Adrien quickly assured him. No need to be so upset. He was just getting emotional again, and that so close to the beginning of the show. “I know you didn’t mean it that way. I’ll just…” – he pointed towards the door – “…leave you to, y’know, prepare.”
He was out of the room before Felix could protest, towards the back entrance. He needed air, just for a moment. To ground himself.
The heavy door swung open and the security personnel outside gave him a curious glance, but let him pass without question. Cool evening air hit him, soothing and clear. It helped. It always helped.
He could always think more clearly when he was outside. Felix hadn’t meant to say that. He hadn’t meant it, because it wasn’t true. Adrien’s father wasn’t dismissive. He wasn’t distant. He cared, and he loved him. Adrien knew it. So what if-
The crash of a shutting door around the corner caught his attention.
“…know who I am?!”, an angry voice shouted. “I have a right to be here!”
Curious, Adrien came closer until he could see the speaker. A light-haired man with impressive sideburns and an expensive looking suit was raging against a closed door, or rather the person who had shut it.
“You can’t keep me out! Tell her that! Tell her she’s a- “
The man fell silent when he spotted Adrien.
“What are you looking at, boy?!” he snarled and Adrien took a step back. Oh god, had he been staring?
“S-sorry,” he muttered, “I didn’t mean to- “
That’s when he noticed his eyes. Blue-grey, like cold stone. Like Felix’ eyes.
“Monsieur- Monsieur Leanne?”, he asked tentatively. The man in front of him flinched, then towered over him with something in his eyes Adrien couldn’t place. It frightened him.
“It’s Bordeaux.”, he spit, emphasizing every syllable, “René Bordeaux. And who are you?!”
Oh god, he was doing everything wrong today. Leanne was Felix’ mother’slast name.
“Adrien- Adrien Agreste,” he pressed out, not knowing whether to apologize or to run. His fear was misplaced, however. Within mere seconds Monsieur Bordeaux relaxed, all hints of aggression evaporating like boiling spaghetti water.
“Agreste!”, he said cheerfully, a dizzying contrast to his previous demeanor, “Gabriel’s boy, I take it?”
“Y… yes!”, Adrien confirmed quickly, relieved that the situation was apparently saved. Had he imagined Monsieur Bordeaux’s anger? There was no trace of it now! Perhaps he had read the situation wrong… it wouldn’t be the first time. “Yes, that’s me.”
“Well, I’m a big fan!”, the reporter beamed. “Of you andyour dad. Excited for the show? You must be so nervous, being the main star!”
Flattered, Adrien shrugged.
“Oh, it’s not… not a big deal. But thank you, Monsieur Bordeaux.”
“But it is!”, Bordeaux insisted. “Call me René, young man, no need for formalities.”
He put a hand on his shoulder, lowering his voice.
“To be honest, I’m very impressed how well you are handling all this pressure. I have a son your age, and I know he would be at a total loss for what to do.”
“Oh. Oh!”, Adrien realized, “You mean Felix! I’m actually working with him tonight!”
“Oh? You don’t say!”
“It’s true! He’s doing great, though. A real professional!”
Monsieur- René sighed.
“I’d love to believe that. The Felix I know tends to be… stubborn. I fear he’ll refuse help from everyone, even those who have his best interest at heart.”
Adrien frowned. That was true, Felix was stubborn. But Adrien hadn’t noticed anything the other boy might need help with, so he couldn’t judge. It just didn’t sit right with him that his dad didn’t believe Felix could do it.
“Really, you can be proud of him!”, he tried again. “He’s gonna be flawless, you’ll see at the- oh.”
Another mistake. René wouldn’t see his son, because he was not allowed at the show.
“Well, yes.”, Felix’ father agreed, patting him on the back as if to say ‘no worries’. “There’s the problem, you see?”
“I’m sorry for that.”
“Ah, don’t be! It’s not your fault. Really, that’s between me and Evelyn. She just… doesn’t want me to be a part of Felix’ life anymore. All because of some small mistakes I made. And now, now Felix will never…”
“Give you a chance.”, Adrien concluded. René smiled wistfully.
“Exactly. I just want… another, uh, chance.”
He was looking into the distance, before promptly jumping up and turning to him.
“Wait a minute! You are the star of the evening! What if youbrought me in with you? Then I could see Felix before the show!”
Adrien blinked. He… he could do that! But…
“I… I don’t think that would be a good idea. Felix said he doesn’t want to see you.”
“Oh, I’m sure he did. But sometimes, what people say they want, and what they need are two entirely different things!”
…that sounded familiar, but not quite right.
“I don’t understand.”
“See,” René began, crouching down to his height, “take your dad! He’s probably very busy, isn’t he?”
He didn’tflinch.
“That’s fine! I am supporting him!”, Adrien said, voice sharper than intended.
“Of course you do! And you probably tell him that. You don’t wanna nag him, am I right?”
Slowly, he nodded.
“But surely, deep down, you would like him to see you more, wouldn’t you?”
“I… I guess. And you think Felix is the same? Even though he is mad at you?”
“Let me put it that way. I did some tinythings wrong, and now Felix wants to punish me for it. But you make mistakes too, don’t you? And you don’t want to be abandoned for them either.”
“No!”, he gasped, horrified, “No, of course not!”
“See? And you’re right! Know why?”
René gestured into the distance.
“There’s good people, and there are evil people, who do evil things, like bombing churches, or kicking puppies. But people like you and I – Good People, the rightkind of people – wecan change.
“...or explain why we didn’t do anything wrong in the first place. There’s always two sides, and all that. Nothing is made better if everyone just turns away from us! Punishing us for mistakes doesn’t make them disappear. Only if we are given another chance we can make things right.”
Something still didn’t sit right with Adrien, but he couldn’t put his finger on it.
“But… but what if the mistake is really bad?”
René’s face darkened, before lighting up again.
“Clever kid, you! Even then, punishing bad things never made them good, am I right? You can only” – he snapped his finger – “suck it up and support others to do better. And you are exactly the kind of person who would know better, clever as you are. Really, Felix could take a page from your book!”
He stood up, looking down on him.
“So, what do you say, young man? Do you wanna be my hero and help a worried father care for his son?”
Adrien looked back at the private entrance. The security people who would do as he said. The building his own father was probably in.
“I…”
Felix would thank him, eventually, right?
“I’ll do it.”
-
“So, here we are!”, Adrien announced to his companion. “Welcome to the back... stage. This is the hallway that leads to the stage, there you’ll arrive at the stairs to the audience, and here’s the way to our private changing room! Do you want me to tell Felix you are coming, or do you want to talk alone?”
René wasn’t looking at him. His eyes were darting over the many settings on his camera, then towards the changing room.
“Know what, kid? Maybe don’t tell Felix I’m here just yet.”
Adrien’s smile faltered.
“But… but the show is going to start soon! Don’t you want to wish him good luck?”
“Ah, don’t worry about it.”, René dismissed with a wave of his hand, “Luck is the last thing he needs. Tell you what, I have something… special planned. You don’t want to ruin the surprise, do you?”
That made sense. He shook his head, and the reporter grinned.
“That’s what I thought. No off you go, get ready for your modeling gig!”
Adrien’s chest felt tight. He didn’t like the expression in René’s eyes. But he had been wrong so often. Felix would thank him eventually, he reminded himself. René just needed another chance.
Felix would thank him.
-
Felix did not thank him.
An hour later, there was press everywhere, and at least one police car. Adrien was lost and stumbling around between running people. Camera’s clicked, someone was yelling, he could see Felix’ mom talking to an officer. Her make-up was running. Was she crying?
“Adrien!”, a hoarse voice yelled, and suddenly Felix was there, pulling at his arm, “What did you do?!”
His eyes weren’t like stone anymore. They looked like thawing ice. Cold and watering andbreaking.
“I-”
“What did you do?!”
“I only wanted- I was just- “
“What?! Whatwere you?! Trying to ruin everythingfor me!?”
“No! I didn’t think- “
“There you are!”, a familiar voice called and Adrien almost sagged in relief. Nathalie pulled him away from Felix with no effort at all, instructing the security personnel to drag the kicking and cursing boy back to his mother. Then she pulled Adrien with her, towards the private box where his father sat.
Adrien gulped.
Gabriel Agreste was utterly motionless, looking down upon the chaos below. Not a hair was out of place, not the hint of an emotion in his eyes.
“That would be all, Nathalie.”, he said simply, and Nathalie let go of Adrien to return to her tablet.
“Father…”, he said, voice breaking. “I don’t understand what happened. Did I… did I do something wrong?”
His father was still watching the crowd below. The press, trying to get a shot of Evelyn Leanne. The police, running around and interviewing people. A blonde boy in navy blue, so small from above, blocking his ears and trying escape the cameras.
A show in ruins.
“Sir,” Nathalie spoke up again, before Gabriel could even turn to his son, “we heard back from Madame Bourgeois. She wants to reconsider doing her Fashion Highlights article about the Gabriel Brand instead of Leanne’s. And there’s a British perfume company looking for a new partner in fashion.”
With that, Gabriel stood up. His son lowered his head, trying to sink into the ground before the yelling could begin. But instead of raising his voice, his father raised his hand and –
“Let’s go home, Adrien.”
–…pat him on the shoulder.
“Father?”
He was confused. He’d been so sure this was his fault, that he had messed up somehow.
“Shouldn’t I- shouldn’t I go talk to Felix first?”
His father looked past him, towards the Leanne’s.
“I doubt you will be working with him again.”, was his reply. He looked almost… content when he turned away from the scene. “Let’s not waste our breath.”
With that, Gabriel Agreste started walking away.
And Adrien, ever the obedient son, followed.
Many things would happen between that fateful night, and another night that promised to be even more fateful.
Adrien had lost his mother.
Adrien had gained friends.
Adrien had gone to school; Adrien had left it.
He had been a hero and a villain, and through it all, a child.
A child that had to be better. A child that now knew, he could become what had become of René Bordeaux.
A child that would not.
He would not become like Bordeaux. Like Lila. He wouldn’t allow it.
And he would prove it!
He would do better, be better. So that he could return to school, to his friends, and show them that he wouldn’t let them down again. If they’d still have him.
He would show Nino that he’d never ever lie again.
He would show Alya that he’d never let her be used again.
He would show Marinette that he would never abandon her again.
And… he would show Felix that he got it now. That he wouldn’t disappoint him again.
And maybe, that would show Ladybug that she had been right to trust him one last time. Even if it wasn’t as her partner.
The door to his room opened, and Adrien held his breath. Nathalie would have knocked.
“Adrien,” his father greeted him, an even for him atypical amount on tension in his face, “we need to talk.”
“We do,” Adrien agreed, opening the tab with the list of therapists he’d been considering. Then he remembered himself and bit his lip. “Uh, you go first.”
He didn’t know if his father had even heard him. He was turned towards the window, before looking back at his son.
“I always wondered… I knew you were hiding something. Your behavior was so… unlike yourself.”
Adrien’s brow furrowed.
“Father?”
“I am not mad at you Adrien, though I admit, at first…”
He turned around, simmering anger in his usually cool eyes.
“I couldn’t believe you would be able to hide something of that importance from me. Clearly, I was wrong.”
“Father, I- “
“No. Listen to me, Adrien. This might be our chance, our onlychance. Your mother’s only chance.”
The room seemed to get colder. Gabriel talked on.
“I never thought I would be able to involve you, always thinking you might be too… fragile. I see now that this was a mistake. If I had been more open in my endeavor, this would have ended a long time ago. But maybe it needed to happen. It needed to happen, so that you would truly understand what needs to be done.”
What do you mean, Adrien wanted to ask, but his mouth was frozen shut. Something icy was growing in his chest. In his pocket, he clutched a colorful little lucky charm like a lifeline.
“Adrien.”
His father stepped closer.
“I know that you were Chat Noir.”
Somewhere, deep in his soul, his subconsciousness was already connecting the final dots, only waiting for his mind to catch up. It kindly refused the invitation, choosing to revel in blissful ignorance for a few more minutes.
“I… F-father, I… I swear- “
“It’s alright, son. Everything will be alright. Look at me, Adrien.”
He did. He did, and he did not know who he was looking at.
“My son,” his father said, and there was a spark in his eyes that scared him, “it seems so fitting. That all of us would carry such a burden, at one point. As if fate itself kept a close eye on our family.”
“You are Hawkmoth.”, someone said. It took both Agreste’s a few moments to realize it had been Adrien who’d said it. And even then, it took Adrien’s mind several more to put ‘blissful ignorance’ back into its box and catch up with his subconscious and mouth. The lucky charm in his pocket felt cold, so cold, like it had felt only once before.
At TV1.
“You are Hawkmoth,” he repeated, and his voice didn’t falter. Neither did his father.
“I understand if you feel… betrayed.”, the latter said slowly, pronouncing the last word like something spiky he didn’t want to get too close to. “There is much you don’t know yet. But until I show you, I need you to remember that we are family. And that we have a common goal, and since quite recently, a common enemy.”
In his head, his thoughts were racing, too fast to be of any use to him. He felt numb. But fifteen years of experience with his father had taught him when to be quiet, and when to ask questions.
“A… common enemy?”
“Yes.”
His father smiled. It looked wrong.
“You were a hero. You were the Black Cat, you were Chosen. But they took that from you. The moment you didn’t meet their expectations anymore, they tossed you aside. As if you hadn’t sacrificed so much for them. I saw you, everything you did for them. For her.”
“Ladybug.”
The word felt odd in his mouth, as if it didn’t want to be said. His father’s smile widened.
“Ladybug,” he agreed, and if the name had hesitated on Adrien’s tongue, it positively rebelled on Gabriel’s. It sounded poisonous, dripping with disdain. “And the Guardian. And, not to forget, the imposter that took your place.”
Adrien looked up at him, slowly.
“You akumatized me.”
His father didn’t flinch. But he blinked, once, before stepping back.
“So I did.”
He turned around, towards the window. Towards Paris beyond, that feared him every day.
“Imagine my surprise when I learned that the one I was doing this all for was the one fighting me, all along. That the key to our happiness had been beneath my very own roof.”
He shook his head.
“The past is in the past. I know exactly how you felt, in that moment. I could feel it firsthand. How alone. Abandoned by those that should have stood with you.”
He turned back around, facing his son. For the first time in what felt like forever, there was genuine emotion on his face.
“Adrien, if you still feel that way, then we can fix it. Together. We can retrieve your Miraculous, and every other Miraculous too!”
He gripped his shoulder with unexpected strength, eyes wide.
“Adrien, I know just how deep Ladybug’s betrayal cut you. But now that you see her for what she really is, you have the power to make her regret. To take back what you deserve, what you are owed.”
He remembered Lila. Her power to make people believe anything. Just by knowing what they wanted to hear.
“Imagine it, son.”
Adrien imagined.
Being Chat Noir once more. The thing in his life he had loved so much, so much.
But he knew, it hadn’t been the costume he’d loved. When he thought of being Chat Noir, he thought of Plagg’s annoying voice. His constant company, his purrs. He thought of Ladybug and laughter, and racing over rooftops with someone that believed in him.
He thought of escape. Why did he want to escape?
Alone. Abandoned by those that should have stood with you.
He hadbeen alone, for so long. He had been abandoned.
“I love you, Father.”
He looked up. His father looked confused.
“I will always love you.”, he added, and the words felt right. They felt true. He smiled.
“Of course I will help you! I have always supported you, no matter what.”
Because what else could he do?
“I knew I could trust you.”
He was no hero anymore.
“I am so proud of you.”
And he was no villain either.
“You’ll see, Adrien.”
He was a child.
“It will all be worth it, in the end.”
A child that knew he could become everything his father wanted him to be.
A child thatwould not.
“Of course, Father.”
He would not become like Bordeaux. Like Lila.
Like Gabriel Agreste.
“Let me show you the reason for all this.”
Adrien felt like he knew already. Like it would be painful. Like it still wouldn’t change anything. And yet, he smiled. He smiled, the exact same smile he had always worn when his father ignored another birthday. The smile for when his father turned his back yet again. The smile that was so false it hurt.
The smile that would have given him away if his father had looked at him just a little bit closer, those past few years.
“I’m right behind you,” he said, reaching out with one hand for his father’s, with the other for his phone. He had no way to contact Ladybug now. But he knew someone who could. Whose lucky charm was in his pocket, comforting and warmonce again.
He wasn’t scared. He wasn’t angry. He knew exactly what needed to happen, and that she would makeit happen.
“With your help, Adrien, this will all be over soon.”
Alone. Abandoned.
Oh yes.
Distant, dismissive, derogatory.
He was right.
I will not disappoint you.
More so than he knew.
“My son,” his father said, and Adrien was so sure he could see love in his eyes. “Now I know that we will be victorious.”
With that, Gabriel Agreste started walking away.
And Adrien, no longer the obedient son, followed.
