Love Amidst the War AU Akaashi & Yamaguchi

Summary:

Yamaguchi Tadashi is the elusive Redback Spider, an assassin who kills strictly on the command of Sawamura Daichi the leader of the Miyagi Crows. The recent death of the Fukurodani Owls' leader, Bokuto Koutarou, left a power vacuum in the Japanese Mafia that Daichi aims to exploit. Bokuto's predicted successor, Akaashi Keiji has become Daichi and the Redback's latest target. When Miyagi's Redback and Fukurodani's Akaashi cross paths their encounter is explosive.

Chapter 1 - Party Like There's No Tomorrow

It was a hot night in July when Akaashi first noticed Tadashi. It was a rooftop party. They had just finished a big job and the Owls were celebrating. He was telling war-stories with his buddies when he went to get a drink and passed by a man who glanced up at him, held eye contact for a long moment and flashed the cutest dimples Akaashi had ever seen. He did not smile in return and that seemed to make Dimples smile even bigger. With drink in hand, he returned to Kuroo who was an ally, a member of a friendly faction and a trusted compa. "Who's that guy?" He asked when he realized that he was still being watched. "He's a Crow." Kuroo raised his eyebrows and looked at the smiling, smaller man. "What's he doing here?" Keiji couldn't keep his eyes from sweeping across the room back to where this Crow was standing, talking to several other soldiers. "He's here for you." Kuroo said with mischief in his eyes. Clearly unworried as the much larger and highly skilled Akaashi could handle himself. "Really?" He smirked and looked down at the ground. "Well, there are worse ways to go," he thought. He stared hard, waiting for his would-be assassin to turn around. When the other man did, Akaashi was not disappointed to see those dimples crater inwards. Akaashi lifted his drink from the oak table and sauntered towards the Crow. Without stopping or bothering to turn around he gave a quiet affirmative when Kuroo asked if he knew what to do. Oh hell yes, he knew exactly what to do and couldn't fight the smile that broke out across his face when the smiling assassin grinned at him. Immediately intercepted by Suna, one of his most eager and ambitious

guards, he bit back an exasperated sigh when he heard, "Sir, that man is a Crow." Suna's voice lifted barely above a whisper and Akaashi patted him on the back. "Don't worry, I know." Suna risked a side glance to his boss's face, "Then you know why he's here. Who he's here for."

Akaashi, "Yes, of course I do." His guard had identified the Crow emblem tattooed on the assassin's left wrist. This emblem, filled in with a violent red, indicated he was a not only a Crow but a reaper which alarmed Suna who had heard chatter that the Crows had sought to exploit the lapse in leadership the Owls were currently experiencing after the devastating loss of their leader, Bokuto Koutarou. As the distance between the Owl and the Crow grew shorter with each long stride Akaashi took, Suna became increasingly desperate to intervene and protect his leader.

"Let me handle this for you, Sir," Suna practically begged, but Akaashi wouldn't hear it. "It's gonna be okay. Go on, Suna-san, have a good night."

"But sir..." Suna blocked his leader by slightly angling his body directly into Akaashi's path.

"You're dismissed." With that Suna walked past the smiling assassin and flashed his own silver as he passed him by. The assassin merely raised an eyebrow as though he was insulted but Suna didn't care, he wanted that man to be aware that he was keeping a close eye on things and he would be on him the moment he attempted to harm his boss.

The man with the dimples crossed the last few yards and stood face to face with Akaashi, "Your friend is not very hospitable." Smirking at the beautiful killer, Akaashi apologized for the hostility and offered a drink to make it up to him. He gestured at one of the cocktails servers who caught his eye when his guest accepted.

While they waited for the drinks, he asked, “Do you know who I am?”

Dimples cratered in amusement. "Ay ay, captain."

Akaashi chuckled, "I'm not the captain...yet."

The assassin casually sipped on his straw and said, "But you're gonna be. Do you know why I'm here?" He flashed playful eyes at Akaashi.

"You're here to stop me." Akaashi said, plainly as he casually sipped his cocktail, then asking, "Who's your boss?" under the assumption that he must work for Asahi Azumane if he was given this high-profile of a mark.

“Daichi Sawamura,” The dimples exploded as he watched Akaashi’s pupils blown for just a moment while he was outwardly calm. He found that extremely impressive, while most others would have signaled for help, not Akaashi. He took this information in stride, which the assassin found extremely sexy.

“It’s you..." Akaashi said referring to the infamous hitman, The Redback Spider. Momentarily meeting the worried eyes of Suna, who was standing fifteen feet from him, while giving nothing away.

Watching Akaashi intently with only a satisfied grin to confirm his identity, his eyes sparkled at being recognized for the danger that he presented, for the reputation that precedes him and for the fact that he was doing this in the Nesuto. Akaashi was convinced this small man had the biggest balls ever to come into Owl HQ and threaten the de facto leader of Fukurodani.

"I’m honored.” Akaashi said with a huge smile to match, while a cold shiver went through his spine. He’d never concerned himself much with his death. It was inevitable. Still knowing when and being able to anticipate his demise was a little uncomfortable.

The Redback Spider, an assassin who was up til now unknown, chuckled feeling high from revealing himself to his target, assured him, “The honor is mine, Akaashi Keiji." He bowed honorably but when he straightened up, the gleeful smile was back. He laid a hand on Akaashi's wrist and said, "But first, I have a question.”

“Are you gonna ask me how I wanna go?” Akaashi said playfully as he finished the last of his drink.

“Uh uh. I was gonna ask if you care to dance." The Redback drew a finger down the center of Akaashi's chest and pulled on his tie as he moved towards the packed rooftop dance floor.

A loud and surprised laugh burst from Akaashi's belly and he said, "What the hell," as he followed the Redback under Suna's anxious and Kuroo's amused eyes.

After an hour of dancing, the two took a break tucked into a table in the back where they could talk in private. He couldn't remember the last time he had this much fun. He usually just sat and drank at these parties but now his shirt was damp with perspiration and he felt loose and relaxed. Which was the complete opposite of what he should be feeling with this predator knocking at his door.

"Mmm they didn't exaggerate, you Owls do know how to party." The Redback wiped his neck with a damp towel.

"I was just thinking... I never do this. I haven't danced in so long, I think my moves are lame." Akaashi sighed watching all the writhing bodies moving to the reggaeton beat that the DJ was playing.

"Uh uh. Your moves are sexy." Yamaguchi said, leaning in and pressing a palm to Akaashi's thigh, inching up toward the bulge in his pants. "I like you, Akaashi. Tu as envie de coucher avec moi?" Tadashi said, lowering his lashes to reveal the gold shimmery liner that dotted the black along his lids. Akaashi was mesmerized, swallowing hard he lifted Tadashi's hand and rose from his chair.

"Come with me," said Akaashi.

"Lead the way,"said the Redback.

I want to go home.

I don't wanna be here.

It's exactly have been one year and 27 days since I've been kidnapped and taken away from my future fiancé and my family. I tried escaping, four times to be exact but I never turned out well.

The even harder reason to escape was because Ushijima was apart of a Mafia with multiple bodyguards around this huge mansion.

I had a hunch that Tsukishima Kei, Yamaguchi Tadashi, and Kageyama Tobio We're also apart of the mafia who live here. Along with maybe Kenma, Kuroo, Bokuto, and Akaashi.

The third time I attempted to escape, Ushijima's guards caught me and Ushijima came up to me and said.

"Try to escape again, I will kill somebody close to you. And we wouldn't want that now and we?"

He threatened and walked away as his guards took me back to my room.

That bastard was bluffing.

Two more weeks go by, I had made another attempt to escape this time, I'm going out my window. There was multiple locks on it but I was somehow able to break it off.

Just went I was about to climb out, I felt somebody grabbed my hair. I let out a small yelped as I felt somebody pulling me back.

"What did I tell you what would fucking happen the next time you would try and escape?"

I gasped as Ushijima grip got harder, he was stronger than me after all.

"N-no...you don't u-understand. I was...I was getting fresh air."

Ushijima got closer and whispered in my ear.

"Bullshit Y/n. I know you don't love me but sooner or later you WILL love me."

Ushijima let go of my hair and grabbed me by wrist and dragged me down the stairs into the dark and badly smell basement.

"W-why..."

Ushijima turned on the light, to reveal one of my

closest friend I've known for 17 years: Hinata shoyo. He was tided up in the corner blindfolded and a gag in his mouth.

"S-shoyo..."

Hinata looked up at me, his eyes were covered but I could tell he was scared. Hinata was shaking, a few cuts on his legs.

"What did you do to him..."

"I didn't do anything...yet. Beside this is your fault. I told you next time you try to escape, I would kill somebody. I knew sooner or later you would try to make another failed attempt at escape..."

I gulped, my hands now starting to shake.

"W-Wakatoshi....you don't have to do this. Come on, Hinata has nothing to d-do with this. Leave him out of this, you can punish me all you want! I-I'll obey.."

I stuttered through my words as tears slowly start slipping out of my eyes.

Ushijima stared at me with me with his blank emotion.

"I gave you multiple warnings. Yet you continue to disobey, and go against my rules-"

"THAN I'LL STARTS OBEYING YOU" I yelled out.

"Please Wakatoshi, don't kill him." I whispered.

My head fell down in shame as I'm the reason why Hinata was down here in the basement while there's a 50% chance that they he may or may not die depending on Ushijima's mood.

"Hm. I guess I could spare him."

I looked up as Ushijima.

"Y-you will?"

"Yes, next time you try to escape, something much worst with happen got it?"

I gulped as I shook my head yes. Ushijima called his guards to take Hinata out of the ropes and removed the blindfolded and gag.

"Y/n..." Hinata whispers

"S-Sho..." I sighed as I looked at the bruises and cuts on his legs.

"Since hinata, knows I was responsible for him being here...he's going have to stay here." Ushijima says

"W-what?!" Hinata stuttered.

"You staying here would be better then me killing you isn't it Hinata? Anyways...You'll be in the care of Tsukishima, Yamaguchi, and Kageyama. They would love for you to be their pet."

Hinata gulps, as the guards walked him out of basement, probably taking him to Tsukishima's, Kageyama, and Yamaguchi's room.

Ushijima's grabs my hand and walks the both of us to Ushijima's huge bedroom. Ushijima's locked the door and looked over at me.

Ushijima's sat on the edge of the bed, he motioned for me to come over where he was at.

My throat went dry as I walked over to where he was sitting, standing in front of him.

"Get on your hands and knees."

I gulped as i obeyed what he said. I didn't want this but do I really want to go against him and risk one of my friends or one of my family members dying?

"Unzip my pants and start sucking."

Chapter One: Third Person POV

Y/n walked into the crowded bar as she looked around for an empty table. She was meeting her complicated fling, Bokuto and his best friend, Akaashi. Akaashi recommended the bar as his girlfriend’s mom owned the place. Y/n sat herself down in an empty booth and texted Bokuto that she had made it.

Not too long after, Bokuto and Akaashi arrive at the bar. Bokuto slides into the booth beside Y/n and kisses her on the cheek.

“Bo, what are you doing?” She asked him playfully, pushing him off.

“Kissing my girl.” He replied cheekily.

“I’m not your girl, Bo.”

“Not yet!” He said, confidently.

“Anyways, who's this?” Y/n asked, motioning to Akaashi.

“I’m Akaashi Keiji. Nice to meet you Y/n, I’ve heard alot from Bokuto.”

“Bo we’ve slept together like 4 times, why are you talking about me so much?” She lied.

Before he could answer, he was interrupted by someone.

“Welcome to Eclipse! I’m Yumi!” The bubbly girl said at the table. Another girl walked up to Yumi. She was stunning, long black hair, gorgeous brown eyes and a nice figure.

“Hey Yumi, I’ll get this table.” The girl leaned down and kissed Akaashi on the lips. “Hey babe, how are you doing?” She turned to Bokuto and nodded. When her eyes met Zel’s, she smiled. “Hey, I’m Koboyashi Hanako, but you can just call me Hana.”

“Hey, I’m Y/n.”

“Bokuto talks about you alot.” Hana said.

“Hana! Don’t embarrass me like that!” Bokuto pouted. Hana stuck her tongue out at Bokuto.

“Anyways, Y/n, how did you meet Bokuto?” Hana asked as she climbed on Akaashi’s lap.

“At a frat party. He followed me around talking my ear off till I acknowledged him. He was really flirty and desperately wanted in my pants.” She laughed, “But I accepted cause I was pretty desperate for a good fuck since I broke up with my ex a few months ago. He is very good at what he does so we decided to keep going. No strings, just sex.” Y/n smiled up at Bokuto.

“She’s a good fuck herself. Don’t let her fool you. She is just as horny as I am.” Bokuto smiled proudly.

“Gross, Bo.” Hana said. “Have you considered not being a sex crazed fiend for five minutes.”

“Play nice you too.” Akaashi spoke up. “So Y/n, what do you do for work?”

“I work at a nightclub.” She said, seemed like an obvious lie to Akaashi, but Bokuto and Hana believed it.

“A nightclub?” Akaashi asked with a slight tone of disbelief.

“She’s a server there! I went there a few times when she was working!” Bokuto said.

Y/n indeed did “work” at the nightclub, she just forgot the minor detail that she owned it along with the rest of her group, Nekoma. Nekoma was a feared Yakuza on the Southside of Tokyo. They were known for a lot of dangerous things like drug and gun running. They had many nightclubs across Tokyo. The nightclub Y/n worked in was one of the main clubs known for being run by Nekoma.

“What’s the name of the club?” Hana asked.

“Cat’s Cradle.” Y/n said.

“Isn’t that-” Hana started.

“A popular club in Tokyo? Yes!” Bokuto interrupted. Hana looked at Akaashi as he shook his head no.

“You should come by sometime! It’s really fun honestly. I can get you a discount like I do for Bo.” Y/n said to Hana.

“Maybe yeah! Sounds like it could be a lot of fun.” She smiled at Y/n.

The rest of the night went by smoothly as the four got along great.

“Well I should head out, it's been a pleasure meeting you Hana. Nice seeing you guys again. I’ll see you tomorrow, Bokuto.”

“Wait, before you go, can we exchange numbers?” Hana asked.

“Yeah of course!” Y/n and Hana swapped phones to change numbers Y/n left as Hana sat back down at the table.

“She’s super cool! I like her.” Hana said.

“Y/n is hiding something…. I’ve only just met her and I can’t put my finger on it. Something is off about her.” Akaashi said.

“What do you mean?” Bokuto asked.

“She works at Cat’s Cradle for fuck sakes, Bo!” Akaashi slammed his hand down on the table, causing a few people to turn their heads in their direction.

“Yeah but she just works there. She’s a college student. If anyone is worried about Nekoma it should be me since I am the leader of Fukurodani.” Bokuto said.

Akaashi pulled his arm back and sighed. “Sorry Bokuto, I just worry about them since they have been such a big threat to us.”

“It’s okay, just don’t let it happen again. You know how I feel about Y/n.” He spoke.

Akaashi kept his mouth shut as he knew that Y/n obviously didn’t carry the same feelings for Bokuto….

Back with Y/n, she had just gotten off her motorcycle at a large house in the outskirts of Tokyo. She parked her bike and took off her helmet. She let her hair out as she walked up to the house. She opened the front door and was greeted by Kai.

“Hey Y/n, Welcome back. How was school?”

“It was fine. I was hanging out with that guy again.” She laughed.

“I hope he knows you don’t like him more than a friend with benefits, kind of way.” Yaku said from behind the two.

“He does, don’t worry.” Y/n insisted.

“Kuroo’s been looking for you, Y/n.” Kenma said as he walked in the room. Y/n looked at him and nodded. She walked ahead of the rest of them into a large open room. There was a beautiful mahogany staircase. She climbed up the large elegant staircase to the top. She walked down the hallway a bit to the last door on the left.

“Hey Kuroo, what’s up?” She asked as she opened the door.

“Hey Y/n, take a seat.” Y/n walked all the way in and closed the door. She sat in front of Kuroo’s desk. Kuroo walked over and sat down as well. “There’s been a leak in information, as you know, but we found them. It turns out the running man, Haruko Komi, is Fukurodani.”

“I knew he was a snitch from the start! I’ve been telling Kenma to look into him almost everyday.” Y/n spoke.

“Well it seems he listened cause he randomly had someone follow him and check him out. Saw him enter a Fuku bar and sit with his boss and under boss.”

“So now what? Can Fukunaga and I have a go at him?” Y/n asked rather excitedly.

“I was thinking, you and I have a go at him this time. I want to ask him some shit, before you kill him. Just one on one, until I need backup.” Kuroo said.

“Perfect.” Y/n laughed.

The next week went by quite quickly, Y/n and Bokuto met up quite a few times, but so did Y/n and Hana. Y/n was currently sitting at a table as Hana brought her a drink.

“How’s that essay coming along?” Hana asked Y/n as she slid into the booth across from her.

“Done actually. I have an important meeting Monday with my boss from Cat’s Cradle.”

Hana felt a lump in her throat knowing very well Nekoma runs cat’s cradle.

“Are you going alone?” Hana asked, visibly nervous.

“Yeah, I think so. I’m sure it’s going to be okay. I can call you after it’s done if you’d like?” Y/n asked.

“Please do.” Y/n smiled at Hana.

Back at Fukurodani headquarters, Bokuto and Akaashi were sitting in the office with Komi.

“We are going to be best friends one day, I see it now.” She said, It was Hana’s turn to smile.

“I think so too.” Hana said.

“What’s their next move?” Akaashi asked, clearly angry at that point.

“I don’t know, Kuroo and his underlings have been discussing it in private. I think they know something is up. I swear I don’t know anything!” Komi shouted, kind of scared.

“Well, what the FUCK are we going to do?” Bokuto asked. “We need answers and we need them now!” He slammed his hands on the desk.

“I’ll try and get something from Lev. He trusts me a lot.” Komi said.

“Fine.” Bokuto spat, “But make sure you come back with something, or don’t bother coming back.” He pulled his hands back as Komi scurried out of the room.

Bokuto turned to Akaashi.

“He better get us that Information or he’s as good as dead.” Bokuto said.

A few days later, Y/n was getting ready for her “Meeting”. Hana was waiting by her phone at her bar. Hana decided it was best not to tell Fuku that Y/n was supposedly meeting the main boss today as Akaashi was already skeptical of her.

Inside the basement of the Nekoma house, Kuroo stood in front of a tied up Komi. He was interrogating him quite loudly, but to Y/n and Kai outside the door, it was so quiet all they could hear was each other breathing.

Kuroo was punching Komi in the face repeatedly.

“Tell me who your leader is!” He screamed.

Komi looked at Kuroo, mouth and eye bleeding, unable to speak without spitting blood.

“You will not know his name.” He spat blood at the end right at Kuroo.

Just then Y/n entered the room.

“Can I tag in yet, boss?” Kuroo turned and smiled at her as he moved aside for her to step in front of Komi.

“All yours, Y/n.” He smirked.

Y/n walked up to the side where a table sat. On the table was many old torture weapons. She picked up an electric saw and walked back over.

“Everytime you withhold something, It’s another finger. After the fingers are gone, I’ll start with your limbs.”

“Y/n, please, I know nothing.”

“Y/n smiled as she picked up his hand and began to cut off his pinky finger. He began to scream out as Kuroo asked him again who his leader was.

This continued on for all 10 fingers as he finally caved.

“His name…. His name is Kotaro.”

“Thanks for that shitty little piece of information …. But you should never give out your boss's name, Komi.”

Y/n laughed, slightly covered in blood, looking like a psychopath. She began to saw other parts of his body as more blood splattered on to her smug face.

Kuroo left the room as Y/n continued working hard. Kuroo walked up to Kai.

“Make sure she keeps his tongue. We are sending that to Fukurdani.” Kai nodded in agreement.

It was a couple hours later when Y/n finally finished up. She left the room, Limbs all over the floor, and tongue in her hand. She walked up the stairs and opened the door. She walked into the kitchen where Kuroo, Kenma, Yaku and Lev were standing. She tossed the tongue down on the island they were standing around.

“My clean floor!” Yaku yelled. Y/n laughed as she heard his reaction.

“I’m going to shower.” She walked upstairs to her room and grabbed out her phone from the drawer.

6 Missed calls from Hana

Y/n was quick to call Hana back.

“Oh my gosh, I thought you were dead!” Hana shouted into the phone.

“Hana!” Y/n laughed, “I told you I’d call when I was done. Why were you so worried?”

“Cause men in power take advantage of girls like you b.” Hana said.

“Don’t worry, I can take care of myself, Nana.” She called her the cute nickname she recently developed for her.

The two talked for a bit before Y/n hung up, not being able to handle the sticky feeling of blood on her skin.

A few days later a box arrived on Fukurodani’s front porch. Konoha picked up the box as he brought it inside.

“It has a note on top, To Kotaro, with love, Nekoma.” He read.

Bokuto pushed past Akaashi as he grabbed the box. He opened it and found the tongue. His face remained expressionless as he passed the box to Akaashi.

“They found out I guess.” He said.
