*Peter and Y/N being scolded by Tony*
Peter sheepishly: “I’m sorry we skipped school.”
Tony: “You skipped school?!”
Peter: “Nooo…”
Y/N: “We were solving a murder.”
Tony: “Solving a murder is no reason to skip school.”
Y/N sarcastically: “Okay, Department of Education.”

A Better Father (Loki X Stark!Son!Reader) *PARENTAL
Characters: Loki X Stark!Son!Reader
Universe: Marvel, Avengers
Warnings: Parental negligence, bad relationship with parent, mention of drugs and underage drinking
Request: could you do a tony x son!reader, in their live, tony was always cold to him (but eventually take him in with pepper) and then Peter Parker show up and take that away, Loki see him in reader (like with odin and how he treat Loki and Thor) and decide to adopt him, teach him magic, reader happy again 😊.
Notes: I wrote this and completely forgot it's meant to be male!reader until it came time to post- I think I've corrected it, but if you spot I've accidentally used the wrong pronouns please let me know so I can fix it. Thanks!

“I’m going out!” You announced, already at the front door, pulling your shoes on and your jacket, before grabbing your bag, hand on the door handle before you got a response.
“Where to?” Pepper asked, rounding the corner, arms crossed.
“My friend is doing a school project and wants my help with it.” You excused yourself, being careful not to go into any details.
“Do you need a ride?” She asked.
“No, it’s okay, there’s a bus that takes me right outside their apartment. I don’t know how long I’ll be, since we have a lot to do, if it gets late I’ll call you to let you know I’m okay and I’ll stay over, is that okay?” You asked her. Pepper walked a little closer, her expression clearly troubled.
“I’ll have to ask your father…” She commented, and your shoulders slumped, you turning to face her.
“You know he’s not going to care, Peps. In fact, I’m going to predict what he’s going to say, something along the lines of ‘yeah, yeah, whatever’.” You mimicked, Pepper frowning, knowing you were right. “I appreciate you actually trying to make up for him, I really do. It’s why I go to you instead of him for permission- because you actually care. Please don’t waste your breath. If he actually wants to know what his son is doing, he’ll do it himself.” You pointed out.
“I know… he should be better, and I want him to be better for you… and I also know you’re lying to me.” She pointed out. You felt your heart drop into your ass, and you sighed. “I told Peter about one of your prior projects with friends, and he looked into it- wanting to see if he could help as well, but then found out that your friend doesn’t even exist.”
“Has he told Tony?” You asked.
“No. He hasn’t. I made him promise to wait, told him I’d deal with it.” She explained. “Peter also cares about you, even if he doesn’t have much time to actually spend time with you.” She pointed out, and you just nodded. You’d accepted that even though Peter was Tony’s favourite despite not actually being his kid, when Peter got an idea od the dynamic between you and your father, he tried his hardest not to play into it or make it worst, though he often realised after events that he actually had and had not realised it. He always apologised for it, always tried to spend time with you in school, and on more than one occasion, he’d covered for you or even claimed something you did that your dad didn’t like was his idea, knowing Tony wouldn’t punish him and it would stop your relationship with your dad somehow getting worse. You appreciated him, he was like a brother in a way, and at this point, more like family than your dad, like how Pepper was more of a parent than Tony was, despite you not being related either. Same with Happy. Same with…
“I’m sorry for lying to you. And Peter… I just…” You fumbled.
“What’s going on, Y/N? Where are you going?” She asked, her voice soft and welcoming, a silent promise that no matter what, she wasn’t going to yell, turn on you, that she actually cares and just wants to be there for you.
“I’ve been going to meet someone… not romantically or anything!” You told her quickly. “I’m not doing drugs or anything like that either.”
“That’s good, so you’re being responsible with this person… why have you been hiding this person from us then?” She asked. You thought for a second on how to break the news, and in that time, Pepper started to pry a little more. “Are they… older?” She asked. You nodded. “So not a teenager? Out of school?” She asked, and you nodded again. “How old are they?” She asked, tilting her head. Another hard question, and you bit your lip, and sensing you weren’t confident answering, she changed her question. “What do you two do? It’s not illegal, so what’s so bad you have to hide it?” She asked.
“He’s… mentoring me.” You told her.
“Oh, so he’s like a professor? A teacher? What’s he teaching you?” She asked with a smile, seemingly suddenly relieved, getting the idea that you were getting one on one lessons for something you were interested in as a future career, and she was ready to support you from the jump.
“Magic. He’s teaching me magic.” You admitted, which made Pepper’s eyebrows press together. “And not the cut a woman in half or pull a rabbit out of a hat kind of magic.” You clarified, and she had a moment of realisation.
“I know two people who know magic. One is Strange, who your father gets along with and so learning from him wouldn’t be a problem, which means… Loki? You’re going to see Loki? He’s teaching you magic?” She asked, and you nodded.
“Please don’t tell Tony! I promise, Loki’s been nothing but kind to me! When we’re not doing magic, we just read books together- or go on walks or stuff!” You explained.
“What kind of magic?” She demanded.
“How to teleport, how to create an illusion, today he’s teaching me a spell that translates both written and spoken languages!” You explained to her. “He said for a treat for my birthday he’s going to teach me a spell that lets me understand animals because apparently what they say is really funny and cute and he thinks I’ll like it.” You explained to her. She clearly wasn’t convinced, and you sighed. “We do other stuff to.” You told her.
“Like what?” She asked.
“You know when Tony’s in a bad mood or I do something he doesn’t like and we get into an argument and I go for a walk to cool off and don’t come back for hours? Loki walks with me. He makes sure I don’t do anything stupid… I feel so safe with him, that I feel comfortable and safe enough to actually cry.” You admitted. You watched Pepper’s concerned expression fall. You never cried- at least not at home. Not at school either, according to Peter. You didn’t cry in front of her, or Peter, or Happy, and sure as hell never in front of Tony, no matter what he said or did. “And he knows what I need when I cry. He hugs me, he just lets me cry, he doesn’t shush me or try to make me stop. If anything bad happens, I go to him first. Like when I went to that party last month and got wasted and realised I didn’t know how to get home- you and dad thought I left with a stranger and stayed with someone who I didn’t know and then came home when sober- instead I called Loki and he looked after me during the night, he rubbed my back when I threw up, hugged me and promised it was gonna be okay when I was crying, he made this really nice tea which instantly made my hangover go away, and promised if this ever happened again he’d do it all over again, and then he took me home when I felt well enough.” You admitted to her.
“Where do you two hang out, usually?” She asked.
“He has a little apartment, there’s probably a hefty amount of magic to make it so the other tenants can’t notice the door to it since it defies the floor plan of the entire building, but it’s so cozy, and warm and I have my own bedroom there- which is where I go whenever I have any ‘sleepovers’, though I do make him watch movies, especially bad ones.” You laughed. It felt so good to finally be able to talk about this- about everything you and Loki did, because time with Loki was your happy time.
“Okay… I have two questions.” She said, and you nodded, gulping. “Why…Loki? If you wanted to learn magic, why not go to Strange, and why is Loki so willing and…” She didn’t say the word, but you knew what she wanted to say. Fatherly.
“Because when he looks at me, he sees himself.” You admitted. “He told me himself… Loki didn’t have a good relationship either with his father. Thor's the golden child, Loki was the one pushed to the back, forgotten. He knows how it feels to be unwanted, to not be thought of by the person who is supposed to love you. He knows how it feels to want to be loved and no matter how hard you try, not getting it, because in your dad’s eyes, you’re not worth it. He sees me, and he sees his own childhood, and he hates that, so… he decided to do something about it.” You explained to her. “Loki… Loki’s like a dad to me. He certainly acts more like one than Tony.” You pointed out. Pepper looked devastated, but understood. “What was your other question?”
“Inevitably, Tony’s going to find out about this. I won’t tell him, I’ll feign ignorance, but Peter’s going to find out somehow, and you know that even if he wants to protect you, that boy can’t keep a secret to save his life, especially from Tony.” She pointed out. “What’s your game plan for when he finds out?” She asked.
“I’ve already got that figured out.” You reassured her. “Loki set up the bedroom for me for the worst case scenario… I graduate next year. I’ll graduate, start going to college, and I’m going to move out and live with Loki- he might move his apartment to be closer to whatever college I want to go to. If he doesn’t know by then, I’ll tell him I just have a roommate and we know he’s not going to come and visit, and after college, I’ll just slowly drop contact, keep my distance, away from him, happy, learning magic, living my own life. I’ll come visit you and Peter and Happy, regular phone calls, if you need me, call me and I’ll be there… and if Tony finds out before then? I’ll go anyway. I’ll be okay, no matter what. Loki has my back.”
“...And so do I.” She added. You two stared at each other. You weren’t sure what she was thinking, what exactly she was going to do. Ban you from seeing Loki? Tell your father? Treat you like a criminal and monster even if you’ve done nothing wrong? Be locked away? Somehow become even more of an outcast? Lose the few people you actually consider family? Lose Loki? “I won’t keep you waiting. Keep me updated on what you’re doing, if you want to stay the night let me know, okay? I’ll tell Peter something that is easier to swallow and then we’ll tell him the full truth after you graduate. I’ll explain to Happy, maybe he can also help you… please just… don’t do anything stupid. Behave. No more secrets from me, okay?” She asked.
“Okay. Thank you.” You told her, nodding with a grin. “I love you, I’ll see you tomorrow!” You told her, finally opening the door and dashing out. Pepper sighed, wondering what she was going to tell Peter to help keep in calm and not accidentally tell Tony, how she was going to get Happy to go along with this, how she’s going to look Tony in the eyes and feign ignorance, lie to his face about where his son is and who he's with. But then she remembered every time she could recall when she would come to Tony’s place and find you home alone when you were a young child, thinking it was normal, how you used to try to get his attention and him brush you off or even yell at you to go away and then slowly stop trying and instead go to her and Happy who actually cared. She remembered how utterly overjoyed you were when your dad actually came to your birthday after he was kidnapped, seeming to realise how precious life was and wanted to make up for lost time, and things were going well until Peter came into the picture, and he lost his way, his sole focus being Peter, you once again forgotten and neglected. Except this time you weren’t upset, just disappointed. You gave up on him, and instead adjusted, adapted, and found a new family. Pepper was your new mother, Peter was your brother, Happy your uncle, and Loki was your new, and much better father. You were making up for lost time with someone who actually cared and wanted you as a son. If Tony had a problem about it, he should have done something about it a long, long time ago.
You arrived at the apartment complex not long after leaving, heading up to the top floor, going to the door at the end of the hallway and letting yourself in. Loki peeked up from the book he was reading and smiled. “There you are, had me worried.” He joked. You sighed as you kicked your shoes off, dumping your bag on the floor and hanging up your coat. Your lack of an immediate response was weird for Loki, and he placed the book down, standing from the settee, and stepping closer to you. “What happened?” He asked softly, locking his hands behind himself. You turned to look at him finally.
“Is it that obvious?” You asked, and he smiled sadly. “...Pepper knows. She’s covering for me, so I guess she’s okay with it, it’s just… what if Tony finds out and massively blows everything out of proportion?” You explained to him.
“Well…” Loki crossed his arms, thinking. “Knowing you, your first thought is to run and start afresh.” He pointed out, and you nodded. “Or… I could talk to Thor. You and Pepper and him talk to the others, explain everything, we lay everything out, and then we tell your father. No secrets and being honest might work more in our favor than just upping and leaving, Y/N.” He pointed out. You squinted at him with suspicion.
“Aren’t you supposed to be the God of Mischief and Lies?” You asked, making him crack a smile.
“I may be, but it means I also know when’s a good time to actually tell the truth, and I think this might be the time. Pepper knows, she has your back, Thor is, as you describe it, a loyal labrador and will be happy I’m behaving, those two alone can be the brains and the brawl to help keep the situation under control.” He reassured you.
“Okay, if you think so… but can we do that tomorrow? I want to learn that spell so I can finally read your Asguardian books.” You begged, making him chuckle.
“Of course we can, go make some tea, then we’ll start.”
Hope you like it! If you have any questions, please send them in!

A angst request where tony stark visiting his little sister reader in the hospital, stage 3 Leukemia cancer. Tony tells her about everything including being ironman and his team. Sister stark! reader gets to meet his team
Nice surprise
a/n- the end was a bit rushed but i am currently going through my drafts
Tumblr media
Tony sat at his desk zeroed in on a mission a report that he’s set off to the side for weeks and weeks, not worried about if another shield agent called his phone asking for the mission report like some landlord begging for rent, but that was ok because Tony never really worried about much, the reasoning behind this was because he had pretty much all the money in the world to fix whatever issue that popped up. That was until that one call from the hospital when the doctor said his little sister had Cancer and there was pretty much nothing he could do about it except hope for the best. That was a problem money couldn’t fix, well he tried anyway, paying for all of the treatments known to mankind but still no positive result occurred.
When Tonys mind drifted to the thought of his sick little sister, FRIDAY suddenly came on “Mr. Stark you have a call from doctor Reyes” Tony suddenly shot up from his seat. That was your doctor, did something go wrong? What if something terrible happened to you? Tony took a deep breath and paced around the room.
“Put him on speaker friday.”
“Yes, Mr. Stark”
Suddenly the doctors familiar voice echoed around the room
“Mr. Stark I have good news and bad news about your sister” The doctor spoke firmly but Tony could hear the nervousness in his voice as the doctor spoke.
“Give me the good news first Reyes”
“Good news, we have been seeing improvements from the treatments, and we think if she can fight it off a little longer before she gets to stage four, we might be able to get most of the Cancerous cells out of her body before they spread even more.”
Tony sighed and smiled a little bit, he was glad there was going to be a little light in this situation, so that it would give him hope that the bad news wouldn’t be as bad as he thought it would be.
“I am very relieved to hear that doctor Reyes, and what about the bad news?”
“Unfortunately, your sister has moved on to stage three leukemia cancer, and who knows how long until she gets to stage four, but we were hoping you could come in and visit her. She took the news pretty hard and has asked to see you all day today. I think it would make her day but we do not want to hassle you Mr. Stark, we know you are a busy man.”
As soon as the doctor said that you’ve asked to see him all day, Tony was already halfway putting his jacket on and out the office door, Tony quickly respond with “Thank you doctor Reyes, I will be there in about ten minutes”, once the call ended, Tony practically sprinted out the front doors of the compound, rushing to his car quickly.
When Tony pulled into the parking lot of the hospital, he was able to gather himself again. As many times as he visited you, it was hard, harder than almost everything else he’s ever done or fought, but he had to have hope for you because Tony loved you with his whole heart, you’re some of his only family left, his rock, the one person that stuck beside him when everyone else left. He pretty much couldn’t live without you.
Tony checked into the hospital counter and signed his name on the visitor sheet, and made his way down the hallway, with a teddy bear in hand and since He’s visited you one too many times, he practically knows the hospital like the back of his hand.
Once Tony gets to your room and opens the door slowly, he sees you look at the direction of the door and you shoot up from your bed happily “Tony!! I missed you, what are you doing here?” Tony chuckled and bent down in front of your bed to give you a hug. “Hey kiddo, I just came by to see how you were doing, I missed you” Your mood seemed to drastically change when he said that. “Doctor Reyes told you to come didn’t he..” Tony stopped and sat down in the chair next to your bed and held your hand.
“Yes, yes he did but that does not mean I don’t want to see my favorite little sister, I love you okay?”
You seemed to crack a smile that made Tony's grin light up also “I’m your only little sister”, you responded with a bit of laughter in your voice
“Exactly, and I wouldn’t have it any other way”
Silence seemed to take over the room as you finished up your multitude of questions for your brother, Tony seemed to have one of his own, he then asked “If you would want to do anything in the whole world, what would it be?” you smiled and pretended to have a pondering look on your face then answered “I probably would want to meet the avengers, especially Captain america and Iron man”, Tony perked up and grinned and looked around then back to you.
“Well, would you like to hear a really really awesome secret..but you can’t tell anybody okay?” You looked at your brother intently while he spoke and nodded your head quickly, eyebrows furrowed. “Tell me, tell me, I promise to keep it a secret”, Tony smiled then said
“I’m Iron man..”
You looked at him suspiciously and said “Nuh uh, prove it.”, Tony stood up and pushed a button that summoned the suit onto his body then quickly took it off, looking down at you while your eyes were widened in awestruck he spoke “Do you believe me now?”, you looked at him and questions started to flow out of your mouth.
“Does that mean your friends with the avengers?”
“Have you fought any monster aliens?”
“Do you know Captain America?”
“Have you been to space!?”
Tony laughed and pushed you gently so your back was resting against the bed “Yes, to all of those questions, but-”, Tony got cut off right in the middle of his sentence as a feminine voice interrupted “Um, I am so sorry to interrupt but visiting hours are now closed, if you would be kind enough to make yourself out, thank you”, Tony nodded and went over to your bed to give you a quick peck on your head and whisper something in your ear, and you seemed to nod excitedly at the information spilled to you.
The next day Tony had made arrangements to make a perfect visiting time and clear all of the other avengers schedules for you to meet them, he knew this would mean a lot to you and he was going to do everything in his power to make sure this was perfect.
Tony got to the hospital with two other cars following him, all the avengers known, packed in three cars and he couldn’t wait to see the smile on your face, Tony then spoke “I’m sorry I had to disturb anyone's plans, but I know this would mean a lot to my sister, she’s just a kid that got handed a rough hand”, Steve responded with a sympathetic look on his face and responded “it’s really no trouble Tony, we’ve all agreed that we would do anything just to make it a little bit better for her” the others around him seemed to nod in agreement “but still, thank you all”, Steve smiled back “anytime Stark”.
While walking into the hospital, and checking into the visitors sheet seemed to take twice as long, Tony knew the look on your face would all be worth it. As they all stood in front of the door to your room he opened it slowly and you popped up quickly.
“Tony! You’re back!”
“I am back, but I have some friends with me also”
You tilted your head, until room people walked through the door and you gasped with a wide grin on your face.
“Thank you Tony! You’re the best big brother ever, I love you so much”
Tony went over to hug you, and all the avengers watched in awe at how loving their boss could be, but soon enough they all sat next to you, ready to answer any questions that you may have had, and they all stayed until visiting time was over, while you were sad they had to leave as they gave you their goodbye hugs. The only person in the room left at the end was Tony, as he came over and sat next to you. You felt your eyes tear up and gave your brother a tight hug then spoke
“Thank you Tony, you really don’t know how much this means to me, I love you”
“I love you even more, but I always want you to know that I would travel the moon and back for you”

Y/N mumbles a paragraph from the assigned book again. It’s the third time they are reading it through, struggling to fully comprehend what’s being said. Frustration is starting to rise, as the book has to be read by the end of the week, and they have to write a short essay on it to prove they read it.
“This one had a mast thin as a sapling. Its sail hung skewed and fraying, its sides were patched. I remember the jump in my throat when the sailor lifted his face. Burnt it was, an shiny with sun. A mortal.” They read out loud slowly, taking time with each individual word. Sighing, they rub the space between the brows, starting to feel a tension headache coming.
They don’t have a lot of motivation to do this, because they work so hard on every single assignment, but the grades aren’t showing it. It seems like everyone else in her English class is getting effortless As and Bs, while they are crawling along with Cs and Ds.
Slamming the book shut, they throw it to the ground. Y/N leans their head against the table, shutting their eyes tightly. The amount of work they have to put in their school work is starting to get overwhelming.
Taking a deep breath in and letting it out, Y/N lifts their head and gets back to reading. They know they have to use more time to finish the work, even if it’s starting to feel like too much.
Y/N stares at their paper as they and Peter walk into the compound. D. All that work for a D. Their eyes are burning as the two come up to the living room, where some of the Avengers are hanging out. Although, Peter doesn’t live at the compound, he spends a lot of his time there, being good friends with Y/N.
“Hey, kids!” Tony is the first one to greet them. “Got your English assignments back today?”
Peter nods, taking out his paper. “I got a B+.” He smiles.
“Great job, kid!” He claps his hands together once.
“I know the Avengers work takes a lot out of the both of you, so we want you guys to know we’re proud of you.” Steve smiles before turning to Y/N. “What did you get?”
“A D.” They mumble, eyes and cheeks burning. Their gaze is cast downwards, away from their team’s eyes. They don’t want to see any disappointed looks. “I’m sorry, I really tried. I worked so hard on it. I did my best, but it wasn’t enough.” Their voice starts to crack and their whole body shake.
“Hey, hey,” Natasha gets out of her seat, walking to Y/N, “it’s okay. Grades aren’t everything, you don’t need to apologize.” She wraps her arms around them.
“But it’s not just this assignment, it’s every single one.” They lean against Natasha.
“Why didn’t you tell us? Or ask help from anyone?” Steve asks.
Y/N hiccups, lifting their head. “I wanted to prove I could do it by myself, that I could be just as good as everyone else. But I couldn’t.”
“We all need help with something.” Peter sets his hand on Y/N’s arm. “I always need Steve’s help with history. I just can’t remember all the names and years on my own.” Steve nods in confirmation. “I’ll help you out with English, okay? We can work on the assignments together.”
Wiping away their tears, Y/N nods lightly. They didn’t necessarily feel good about crying in front of everyone, wanting to keep a capable picture of themselves in front of the others, but they still feel relieved to get it all out in the open.
“Thank you.” They whisper.
“We’re all here to help you, kid.” Tony speaks up. “Well, they are. I’m no help in book essay thingies.”
With a small laugh, Y/N nods again. “Do you want to go over our essays together now?” Peter asks.
“Yeah.”
Peter and Y/N start walking out of the room. “You two always make us proud!” Tony shouts after them, showing a thumbs up. Peter smiles giddily as they walk towards his room, craving Mr Stark’s acceptance.

Holy Yankees!
Y/n: *stubs her toe and says something in Russian*
Steve being the idiot he is: Hey! Language! You don’t say that kind of stuff, English or in Russian.
Y/n confused: *glares at Steve and walks away*
Natasha entering the room: What’s the matter with Y/n?
Steve: She cursed in Russian!
Natasha: That doesn’t seem like her. What did she say?
Steve: I think it was like, “Svyatyye Yanki.”
Natasha: *bursts out laughing*
Steve: What?
Natasha: That means, “Holy Yankees” in Russian.
Steve: *in disbelief*
Natasha: You should go say sorry. Like, NOW.
Steve: *goes to find Y/n*
1 HOUR LATER
Steve: *Finds Y/n punching a bag*
Steve: Hey kid. You still mad at me?
Y/n not looking at him: Twinkle Twinkle Long Cord, I wish I could hit you with my skateboard.
Steve: I brought a peace offering
Y/n: *turns around to find Steve holding a Milky Way bar and him wearing a shirt that says, “I’m an Idiot”.
Y/n grabbing the bar: I accept your peace offering.
Steve: Thanks. Also, I’m wearing this for the rest of the day.
Y/n: Tony’s going to make fun of you for it
Steve: Yeah, I don’t care.
*Y/n and Steve hug*
Steve: But you should take a shower. You stink
Y/n: I’ll go do that. Thanks for the bar.
Steve: No problem, kid.
Tony walking in the gym: *bursts out laughing at Steve’s shirt*
Steve: Yes, hahaha. Very funny.
Tony: WHAT IS THAT!!
Steve: My shirt. When I do or say something an idiot would do.
Tony: You, Rogers, need to wear that 24/7
Steve: HEY!

“who asked you to the formal y/n?” natasha asked, a small smile on her face
you could FEEL yourself blushing
all you wanted to do was like sink into the floor
which is actually physically possible (though it’s an anomaly)
bruce told you that :D
anyways you just shook your head
so then HARLEY decided to go “jack lastname”
IM REALLY BAD AT NAMES IM SORRY
and you were ready to die
right then and there
if the grim reaper decided it was your time you would be fine with it
so tony goes “jack lastname… huh.”
“tony, please don’t – “ you tried, but he was already there.
“jarvis, can you run a background check on that kid.”
you were so embarrassed.
miles, sweet sweet miles tried to change the subject
“so um… steve. how was… your day.”
but then there was sam wilson butting in
“when is winter formal anyway? you know we gotta know so we can take pictures.”
and that made you, harley, peter, and miles groan
tony was still looking at some tablet or whatever.
“stark!” came thor’s booming voice. “i thought you said no electronic devices were permitted at the dinner table! if they were, i would be much happier!!”
“yeah yeah. well they’re not. i’m busy.” tony replied, dismissing the god with a wave of his hand.
and happy, who was right next to tony, kept leaning over and shaking his head or nodding.
SO EMBARRASSING
anyways once you got done with dinner you went to put the dishes in the dishwasher robot
idk why i said it like that but it’s basically this cool thing where you put the dishes in the sink and this robot will wash them & put them away
very nice bc doing the dishwasher is so much work sometimes.
but then wanda, nat and carol came in
and you KNEW they were gonna try to get you to talk
“i’ll tell you guys later.” you spoke, trying to end the embarrassment.
“come on y/n! we want to see him at least.” carol said, tilting her head and raising a brow.
“ok fine.” you said, and pulled up a picture of jack. you showed it to them for like one second and then put your phone back in your pocket.
“hey wait! no fair! i wanna see! yeah.” came the voices of sam, clint, scott, and bucky as they tried to fight their way into the kitchen.
“that’s a hard no. maybe i’ll bring him here after the dance. harley peter miles and i were already going to stay over. then he could walk by you guys for TWO SECONDS and then do something with me.”
“alright.” said sam, crossing his arms and nodding.
“seems fair!” said bruce.
“perfect.” you replied, leaving the room to leave them all to inevitably gossip.
SKIP AHEAD
ok so it’s winter formal
and you strategically told jack to meet you there so that the avengers couldn’t bombard him during picture taking time.
so y’all had a super fun time
& u slow danced with each other 🤭🤭
it was super fun
but you were kind of dreading going back to the tower
you had told jack about being an avenger a few weeks ago
and he was super excited to meet them all
jack is like super sweet & really awesome
so it put you at ease a little bit.
so you went back to the tower with him
peter harley and miles had gone to get ice cream and were coming back later
so you did the retinal and fingerprint scan that would let you into the elevator
and you went up to the main floor (so you could get to your room)
but ofc they were all there
and so you took jack’s hand and brought him over to where they all were
he was lowkey freaking out
and bro
bucky and sam and clint and scott looked so unamused
tony and happy too
SO YOU JUST TRIED TO KEEP IT CIVIL
but they all were acting so clipped and like not charismatic
idk
but wanda, steve and bruce were rly nice so that put jack at ease a little bit
anyways so then you took jack to your room
you guys had been planning to watch a movie together
he was kind of nervous because he didn’t think the avengers liked him
but you assured him they did
(at least you hoped)
anyways you turned on the movie & watched it
and it was soo funny so y’all were laughing a lot
BUT THEN THE DOOR SUDDENLY OPENED
and it was so loud you got freaked out fr
but then you saw it was tony, bucky, sam and steve.
“y/n. could you go out in the hall for a minute.” steve said.
“this is my room!!” you tried, but tony just pointed out to the hall.
“i’m sorry jack.” you said to your boyfriend
jack was literally about to cry omg
poor thing
“don’t be mean.” you said as you left, taking extra care to give them all a withering stare
natasha and bucky had taught you that skill well bc you saw sam shiver HAHA
so you went to the hall and clint, scott, and natasha were standing there.
“what are they DOING??” you hissed at them.
“they’re just worried for you y/n. they wanted to talk to the kid.” natasha assured you, patting your shoulder.
“yeah, nothin’ to worry about!!” scott added, a big grin on his face
“well i really don’t trust that coming from you.” you replied
“well tony thought you guys were kissing in there!” clint laughed.
although it turned into an “ow” when natasha elbowed him
“he WHAT?!” you replied
“yeah, that’s why he came up here. he said he wanted the most intimidating ones to go make that kid afraid or something.” scott added. “not sure why he didn’t ask me…”
you gave scott a nod but then made your way back into your room, crossing your arms and raising a brow as tony, bucky, sam and steve turned towards you.
“hey y/n.” sam said, raising a hand to wave.
“are you guys done now? i’d like to finish the movie.” you said, trying to be stern.
“i think we are. right jack?” steve said, standing up and gesturing towards your boyfriend.
“yes sir! i mean steve. i mean mr. rogers?” he said, clearly scared out of his mind.
“yeah yeah. alright. get out please!!” you said, guiding them out of your room.
bucky was the last to leave, but despite you pushing him, he turned back to face your boyfriend.
“hey, you. hurt them in any way and i’ll find you.” he said, accompanied by his signature deathstare.
then he gave a little salute to you.
“night kid. don’t stay up too late.”
and then he was gone.
“did he really mean that??” jack said, eyes wide.
“yeah, he did.” you said, sitting beside him and holding his hand. “isn’t that sweet?”

title: Trust Takes…A Near-Death Experience?
blurb: the one in which the newest combat avenger that has limited healing abilities proves themselves. (fem!reader)
warnings: Clint should look around before leaving cover, Reader just wants acceptance (at the cost of hurting themselves), injury, medbay vibe?, passing out, the team are kinda mean to start with, swearing
Tumblr media
“Now, everybody follow instructions. Nobody go off and do their own thing, this is a quick in and out mission.”
The voice of the Captain boomed through the tech-clad jet, and the brightness from the overhead lights found love in my eyes, causing me to squint in attempt to see my surroundings.
“Stark, Nat and I will clear the pathway to the entrance. Wanda, Sam and Buck, cover and protect the perimeter. Clint and Y/N enter the building quietly, get the flash drive and leave. Don’t make contact with anyone inside.”
A chorus of “got its” and a cheeky “Sir yes sir” from Sam replaced the single voice. Clint made his way over to me, blindly handing me a small handgun.
“Just in case. You should stay behind me, stay in the shadows unless I tell you otherwise. This should be easy.”
His voice was sharp and I could tell he was annoyed I was partnered up with him. I felt the whole group’s eyes set on me and shuffled back in my seat awkwardly.
Stark stood up, lowering his helmet over his head. “Yeah and uh, when you see HYDRA agents try to stay loyal to us. I know they used to be a such a dear part of your life.”
Hostility was woven in his words, and snickers surrounded me. If the ground felt like eating me whole now would be the perfect time. Or eating them. That would be better, and it would be nice to see them grovelling for my help.
Ever since Fury took me in as a HYDRA escapee, the team have been less than pleased by my mere existence. I’m not stupid, I’ve heard them talking. Things about how they couldn’t trust me, that I was a double agent. It hurt sure, but I couldn’t blame them. Who would genuinely believe that an ex-convict would want to play hero to the world? That doesn’t make their words sting any less though. Wanda wasn’t always the good girl, and neither was Nat. Bucky was one of me for gods sake. The constant bitter phrases and venomous speeches filled my life. If I got hurt on a mission, I am convinced they’d just leave me.
“Great, they’ve already zoned out.” Bucky’s voice pulled me back into reality.
Truth is, this mission was kind of scaring me. They keep calling it a simple deal, but there’s too much history there for me. What if one of the agents walking around recognise me? Would they kill me? Or would they drag me back into that lifestyle? I don’t want any part of that, and I sure as hell am working everyday to repay the world for what I did against it.
“We’re here. Get ready.”
Wanda arose from the seat beside me, giving me one glance over before stationing herself behind the doors. Same with Natasha. And Cap, Tony, Bucky, Sam and Clint.
I sighed and stood, slowly pacing my way over to them. I shut my eyes and inhaled lightly, exhaled lightly. Just like Ma taught me.
The shudder of the doors opening reminded me to extra care of myself on this mission, stay in cover and do as I’m told. I’ve resigned myself to doing that every mission though. A part of me hopes that if I just let them control everything and make the rules, well then, maybe they’d start to warm up to the idea of me.
I felt Clint grab on to my arm as he tugged me towards some boulders sat just by the entrance. I allowed myself to be pulled along and crouched low to avoid being detected. We sat in silence together, I kept my eyes trained on the scene playing out before me. I watched as the others killed people quickly and quietly, and as Nat made her way to the door of the building and opened it, ready to kill any onlookers they may have missed. I felt Clint’s eyes place on to me a few times, either from concern or disgust, I’m not too sure, and I’d rather not know.
It was time. I stood from our cover and let Clint lead the way to the door. Nat offered him a small smile as he went inside, and instantly dropped it when she saw me.
Ouch.
‘Don’t let it get to you.’ I could hear my mother’s voice in my head. It chanted like it was some mantra until I found myself following what it was saying.
The inside of the building wasn’t that much different to the outside. It was bleak, grey and was a hub of sadness if anything. Clint was four steps ahead of me, and didn’t so much as turn around to see if I was even there. Part of me thinks he wouldn’t even question my disappearance, that he just expected me to turn double agent real quick and not look back.
We found the room quickly. It wasn’t hard to locate, nor was it well secured. Typical of HYDRA. They focused their resources in the wrong places. The metal door was heavy and rusted, turning into more of a bronze colouring. It was unlocked and made a loud ‘clank’ as we opened it.
I internally cringed as the sound rang through the empty hallways. The noise was starkly contrasted when a deafening silence fell upon us. Then the footsteps came running. One pair, two pairs, several pairs of people could be heard nearing us. And as if to mock us even further, a blaring alarm played out suddenly. If this wasn’t a serious situation, it possibly would of been funny.
The archer grabbed me by the wrist and quickly tugged us into the dark room, and we found solace behind a cabinet. It wasn’t long before the door to the enclosed space opened again, and from the corner of my eyes I could see the shine of flashlights reflecting against the silver panels of the area.
“раскрыть себя (reveal yourselves).”
I shuddered at the sound of Russian. It reminded me all too well of my past, a past I’m far from proud of. The footsteps paced around the room some more, before the flashlights turned off.
“все чисто (all clear).”
Slowly, the resonating footsteps got further and further away. I knew better than that though. There is at least two men still in this room, I know HYDRA like the back of my hand. ‘Sad that they haven’t changed their ways after all these years’, and god I need to stop thinking serious situations are funny.
Before I could garner my attention back to Clint, his grasp on me lessened and though I tried stop him, he moved into plain sight.
Silence.
I held my breath and prepared for what came next, it was inevitable.
I heard Clint sigh, “Shit.”
“Ah Mr Barton, рад встрече (nice to meet you).”
A gruff Russian accent coated the man’s words, the tension in the air was thick and surrounded the room. I watched as Hawkeye slowly reached back for an arrow, setting it into his bow. I felt helpless, I couldn’t blow my cover just yet, and Clint is way too egotistical to ask for help. But still, I know this is not going to end well for him, no matter how skilled he is, he is way too outnumbered. He just doesn’t know it yet.
Ping.
The sound of a sleek, metal point hitting its bullseye in the shape of a man’s head. And lord, Clint has just brought war upon himself.
Before he could reload, or I could pull out my weapon, I heard as the door slammed open and more agents rushed in. Curse the archer for thinking he always knows best.
Gunshots resonated throughout the building, and one could only pray the others could hear it. A hand reached up to my ear piece quickly, and I pressed on it.
“Guys! Backup plea-Clint!”
I watched in horror as he dropped to the floor with a vast array of gunshot wounds taken nest on his shoulders, stomach, torso and just below his heart.
Grabbing my gun from my holster, I left cover and finished off the final three men in the room. I looked around the floor, and fair dues to Barton, he had managed to take out a fair few of them. A groan articulated from beside me and I dropped to my knees in concern. I knew I didn’t have long before more HYDRA officials found their way here and could just hope that the rest of the team would come bursting through the door.
“Clint! Clint, look at me ok? You need to stay still, I’m going to heal you, don’t move.”
My words were shaky and unstable, I don’t know if he could even understand me. But even if I was speaking properly, this man is at deaths door and words wouldn’t be comprehensible anyway. My hands rested comfortably above Clint, a small gap allowing for the particles to flow out of my hands and over his body. I worked silently, even when the door slammed open. One, two, three, four…there was at least fifteen gunshots covering him. I don’t know how far my healing ability can cope with this. I had only ever used it on myself, it was simple trick that was injected into me by HYDRA to ensure they could keep sending me out on mission after mission.
I didn’t dare move even when I heard shouts of Russian around me, or shots being fired into me, all that mattered was making sure his family had their husband and dad in one piece. I watched as his wounds slowly covered over, and as the bleeding came to a stop. My hands didn’t leave him until I knew for sure that every little mark on him was healed.
Pain pricked into me, it was didn’t hurt that much yet it made me scream. I looked up in horror and was met by the rest of the team. It felt like everything was in slow motion now. My head felt woozy and light.
‘Huh, so at least I know I can heal a pretty much dead man’. Not now brain…not now.
My eyes fluttered open and shut like a butterfly, the voices of the team were drained and quiet and my vision was blurry.
The sound of me dropping to the floor.
•/\•
Beep.
“She’s waking up, get Bruce.” “She’s awake?” “Shut up, you’re being too loud.” “You shut up!”
Open door.
“Bucky, Sam. She does not need to hear loud noises right now of all times.”
“…sorry Bruce.”
Footsteps, shut door.
My senses slowly came back to me. I can hear my heart monitor. I can feel a blanket clad around my body. I can smell disinfectant, a aroma of cleanliness. I can taste the metallic tang of blood. I let my eyes open and instantly winced at the light compared to darkness of shut eyes.
“Oh! Sorry about that.” Bruce walked over to my bed and pushed the bright lamp that shone over me to face the wall.
“How are you feeling?”
“Like the devil tried finishing the job.”
He laughed in a geeky sort of way. I don’t mind Bruce. I’ve never met met somebody who contrasted their hero alias as much as him, but I guess that’s what made him more likeable. I saw him slightly tamper with the many wires attached to my hand. He must of felt my eyes on him,
“I’m just upping the morphine.”
“No need.” I allowed my hands to perch on top of my chest and focused my energy towards myself. Gradually, it felt like the ton of bricks was being lifted from my shoulders.
“That works too, I guess. Super cool by the way, the healing thing, wish I had that.”
The door crashed open again, this time the team came stumbling into the room.
“I said one at a time!” Natasha spoke up.
“Yeah, you just always got to be right dont you?”
“Stark, I will widow bite you.”
Wanda made her way over to me with a steaming bowl. It smelt amazing, and my stomach was absolutely begging for food. Not to mention the need to recharge my energy.
“It’s gulyas. My mama’s recipe. I’ve seen you eat it before so I just thought…”
“Thank you Wanda. It smells like home.” I leant forward to take the bowl from her.
“Should you be feeding yourself?” She asked as she moved the bowl away from me quickly.
“In case you hadn’t noticed, I can heal myself. I feel good as new. Just a little rough round the edges is all.” I joked light-heartedly.
The Sokovian looked doubtful as she passed it over to me, setting it gently on my side table and produced a spoon. By now, Bruce had managed to calm the others down, reminding them they were in a medical facility.
Clint awkwardly cleared his throat and captured the attention of everyone.
“I uh…just wanted to thank you for healing me. I thought that mission might of been my last so just..yeah..thanks.”
I smiled at him.
“Hey, it’s part of the job right? Protecting people. Nobody said it had to be just civilians.”
Steve lightly nudged Tony.
“My turn already?”
The others looked at him with annoyed glances.
“Ugh fine. Listen Nightingale, we just wanted to…apologise for how we treated you. You clearly have the teams best…interests at heart.”
Groans encompassed the space.
“Really Tony?” “You could of been slightly heartfelt!”
“What Tony is trying to say Y/N, is that we were unfair. Especially considering the fact that three of us were the same as you…technically four but Tony made weapons of destruction so I’d argue that’s worse.” Natasha cut in, looking towards me hopefully.
“Forgive us? Start afresh?”
I looked down in my lap. It felt weird hearing them say sorry. Or even having their attention full stop.
“I’m not going to lie and say I can just move on from this…it kinda hurt the way I was treated. It felt like when I was trying to finally put stuff right, I was just being shunned even more…”
“That was our fault. Completely.”
“But, I am willing to try. You guys seem cool when you’re nice.” I laughed quietly.
“Seem? Seem? I AM cool.”
“Tony, for fucks sake.”

Stubborn Like Me (Tony Stark X Teen!Reader) *PLATONIC
Characters: Tony Stark X Teen!Reader
Universe: Marvel, Avengers
Warnings: None
Request: Tony Stark x teen reader. The reader is the second best genius mechanical engineer behind Tony. The reader can basically build anything they can think of. (He has a IQ of 267) One day after a contest the reader school beats Tony old school. Tony tries to recruit the whole team including the reader. The reader says "No I want to build my school up by being the best." (The reader is on their school own debate, robotics, athletic, etc team.) That's when Tony stops by the reader parents house and they make the reader goes to Tony's old school m
Tumblr media
Tony wasn’t really one to dwell on his earlier years, or to check in on those back then unless they actually meant a lot to him, and with his messy history, there wasn’t many of those people. However, one thing that he always ended up checking on was his old school. He had a lot of good memories there, and it was his refuge from his toxic homelife with his dad. It was a place where he could be himself, have friends, and where he was able to thrive.
One of the aspects that he kept up to date on with his old school were their competitions that they reigned supreme in. Since his turn around into a hero, the school often asked him to come, give speeches, be judges for inward competitions and to give out rewards for projects he put funding in. With it being the best school not only in New York but also in all the neighbouring states, he had handed out a lot of rewards and gone to give a lot of speeches. So he was fairly surprised when he found out that his school came second in an mechanical engineer. To a public school. An average public school that had never even passed the initial round before now. It was shocking to everyone, and it wasn’t long until it ended up in the local newspapers. It also brought a lot of light to the winning school- mostly the mystery group that ran and won the championship without breaking a sweat. Tony was one of those people, and he spend an afternoon and night doing his research into the group. Several members had been in the group a few years, not long from graduating, and while smart, clearly hadn’t been the winning force, so he looked at the newer faces to the team. He didn’t have to look far until he stumbled onto you- the newest recruit to the team.
Y/N L/N, 15 years old, also on the school debate team, Robotics, and also in your school’s sports team, and in each you had gotten yourself an important role by working hard, managing all that in just a year of being in high school, and in that year of you joining these groups, you had boosted their success. In fact, the robotics team were in the middle of a local compeition with some other local schools that could go to the championships, and the debate team were now successful enough to be able to compete as well next year, and your sports team had their first winning streak in quite a while. It all revolved around you.
Tony sent a letter to your family’s address to congratulate you and offer a transfer to the best school in New York- his school, letting the school know of this and why, only to hear back from the school a few weeks later that you hadn’t applied or got in contact with them, and you hadn’t contacted Tony either. He double checked the address was right and that the letter sent, and it had. Unsatisfied, he decided the next action was to reach out to your school, saying he wanted to meet the winning team, and they weren’t gonna turn that down.
And so here he was, at your school which was a major downgrade to the school he attended many years ago, in a small classroom next to the parking lot which was apparently where your group operated… along with the robotics group. As soon as the group walked into the room to see him, they were all surprised, but in awe to see him… except you. Tony looked right into your eyes, and the look you gave him told him alot. It told him you already knew why he was here, and you weren’t falling for it.
Still, Tony persisted, keeping a smile on his face as he congratulated the team on their success, how he always kept up to date on the competitions and how impressed he was with them. After softening them up, he made his proposition. “So, this place is a bit cramped, and that’s not considering you’re sharing with the Robotics team. Well, I spoke with the school your won against, and they were impressed by your potential, and they want to start a program where your class with have access to the garage they assist at you you’ll have better tools, a larger work place and more vehicles and such to work on. If it works between your two schools then there’s talk about doing it for your other neglected classes, maybe combining your school’s extra-curriculars, and since it’ll be the big guys funding it, that’ll show on your records so you’ll have a better rep when it’s time for you to look into colleges, universities and jobs.” Tony informed you. He watched the group look amongst each other with excited grins at the proposition that was too good to give up.
“What’s in it for our school? How does it benefit?” You spoke up, your arms crossed, sat on the edge of a desk.
“Other than having students have access to better activities that they won’t need to fund so they can put that little into other things to better the school?” Tony responded, copying your pose but on the teacher’s desk. Your friends noted the silent argument happening between you two, and split to give you both a clear sight of each other, but also allowing them to watch the interaction like a game of tennis.
“I know the rules and regulations for the competitions for school competitions. If we use the other school’s resources- which by the way is biased because it’s the school you went to and you’ve been funding them essentially ever since- then our school technically can’t compete. We’d have to compete under the name of the other school, which means any trophies, rewards, certificates, and more importantly money that can be spent by the school to improve, would go to that school, not ours. In the larger image, that doesn’t seem fair.” You pointed out. Tony didn’t speak immediately to rebuttal your comment, because honestly he wasn’t expecting it. You pointed out a flaw in his offer that no one would have spotted without prior information- like the fineprint of the competitions rules and regulations.
“While that is a negative, I believe the positives outweigh it.” Tony reasoned with you. “But that your decision. Please decide amongst yourself and let your principal know your decision.” Tony spoke, before leaving the classroom.
He heard back the following day from his school that the offer had been accepted. With one problem. You dropped out of the program. If you didn’t remind Tony of himself before, you did now. Stubborn and determined to not give in to something you didn’t agree with, even if it meant self-imploding. It took a few hours of pondering, talking with his teammates and Pepper, before he formed a new strategy, this one being far more personal, and an offer you couldn’t justify turning down or sabotaging, and to ensure you couldn’t just rip up a letter or delete an email to ignore it, he decided to personally show up at your house. Needless to say, when you opened the door and saw him there, he sent you a shit eating grin and your face… oh if looks could kill. However, you kept in any curses for him to turn around and leave you alone, your manners overruled you and you stepped to the side to let him in. He stepped inside, noticing how quiet it was.
“You have an hour until my parents come home. Make it quick.” You answered his silent question, brushing past him to walk deeper into the home, sitting down at the dining table, leaning back and crossing your arms. Tony followed you, keeping his eye contact with you as he came and sat down opposite you.
“I heard about you dropping out of mechanical engineering.” He started.
“I’ve got several other extra curricular to sparkle up my resume, dropping that one isn’t that big of a deal.” You brushed off.
“We both know that’s not why you dropped it. You were the brain of that group, the reason they won. Without you they’ll go back to being mediocre and the merging of the schools will be cancelled.” He pointed out.
“If that means we can claim our own prizes and we can reap the reward for our hard work instead of having to hand it over to a school that doesn’t need it, that’s fine by me.” You retorted, and Tony could feel his frustration bubbling in his chest at your refusal to even consider, before he remembered why he was there.
“I have a new offer for you.”
“I’m not transferring or doing anything for your little private school.”
“I want to offer you a paid internship.” He told you bluntly. You paused, staring at him for a moment, blinking several times.
“What?”
“Fully paid. And you can still go to your school. Since you dropped Engineering, that might clear up some of your busy schedule, and since there’s no major competitions for the next few months, I’m sure your other extracurricular activities won’t sink if you only do every other class. You won’t be the only intern either- I have another bright mind called Peter working for me, but you’ll be working in different roles. I’d like you to be more hands on, right beside me with major projects.” He explained to you. You remained quiet as he spoke, waiting for a catch. Any catch.
“What do I need to sacrifice?” You asked of him. Tony paused his ramblings, looking at you. You were slumped now. Almost defeated. Almost. He could still see the fight in you- the urge to support your school and your peers.
“…Nothing. You don’t have to sacrifice anything… You clearly love your school, enough to give up on a hobby you’re talented in and give up a chance to go to the best school in the area. I guess it’s because you know you’re the thing keeping all the other extracurricular activities running. Without your success, your school would have to shut them down- and by doing so, those other students lose important notes on their record for college and university.” You didn’t say anything, and that proved to Tony he was right. He leant forward, resting his arms on the table. “I’m going to start a new project. One that funds the activities in the smaller schools. That includes yours. If there’s any you’re only doing to keep them running and you don’t enjoy it, you can drop it. It’ll be safe, I promise. All I want from you is your cooperation. You have an amazing mind, kiddo. You’re going to do some amazing things, and I want to give you a boost to the top. We could really do with someone like you with us.” He spoke softly. Your ears perked up as you glanced up at him.
“Us?”
“The Avengers. SHIELD. Those are the projects I’m talking about. You’ll be on the payroll. Of course, you won’t be able to tell your folks about what exactly you’re doing, but that’ll just make them more impressed, right? What do you say?” Tony offered, holding out his hand. You stared at it, looking for any loopholes he might have made, but soon finding nothing, you reached out and shook his hand. “Welcome to the team, Brainiac.”

Hi! I’ve recently joined tumblr and I love your writing. Do you think you could do one where fem!teen!reader has a father-daughter dance but she doesn’t have a father/doesn’t have a good relationship with him and someone like rdj finds out and takes her instead? If not it’s okay.
Notes: I’d like to thank @deadlymistletoe for the request! I hope you enjoy it.
I don’t own any of the gifs/pictures used.
Warnings: Poor relationship with father, some angst, some comfort, spelling/grammatical errors, very bad writing 🤷‍♂️, anything else I failed to mention
Word Count: 590 (give or take)

You don’t have a really good relationship with your father
He’s been in and out of your life for as long as you can remember
You’ve gone through every possible emotion when it comes to your father’s unreliable nature, now you’re in a mixture of numbness, exhaustion and disappointment
You’re in high school now, and it’s been roughly two and a half years since you last heard from him
It’s not uncommon for him to disappear for extended periods of time, but this has to be the longest
You don’t really care at this point
Getting all worked up over it won’t make a difference
Then your school announced it’ll be hosting a father daughter dance
Some of your friends expressed interest in it
You played it off like you weren’t interested
But deep down, there were some emotions swirling around
Insecurities on not having a stable father figure in your life
Anger that your father never made time for you
Sadness that maybe you were never enough for him
Feelings you never knew existed until then
Maybe you always knew they existed but you chose to ignore them
Your mother is the first to notice something being off about you
You try to brush it off but you crumble and tell her
She reassures you it’s okay and tries to make you feel better; it doesn’t really work
So you try to distract yourself
If you can make it through the week until the stupid dance blows over, then you’ll be fine
You put even more time into studying and homework
You rehearsed your lines over and over for the upcoming movie you’re in
You even called your costars to see if they’d be interested in helping
Robert agreed without hesitation
He was the only one available at the moment so it worked out
It didn’t take him long to realize something was up with you
He waited until you would tell him, but you didn’t
So he asked and you tried brushing it off
And he gave you a look, and you nearly caved
And he kept giving you the look, so you did
You explained the situation and went off about how it was ridiculous to feel that way about your school’s father daughter dance, but there was that unresolved something deep inside you that wouldn’t leave you alone and you half expected it to go away once the dance passed and by the time you finished explaining you were out of breath
Robert didn’t say anything
After a minute you felt a little nervous
After three, you felt self conscious
After nearly five minutes you felt you’d crossed some kind of line by telling him all that
Then he asks something that made you sputter in an attempt to respond for a good thirty seconds
“Why don’t I go with you?”
You told him it wasn’t necessary, that it was some stupid school dance and that you didn’t want him to feel obligated over something like that
“…you’ve got your own family, I don’t want to take you away from them.”
Robert shrugged, “I’ll talk to Susan about it. It’s not a big deal trust me.”
You felt guilt wash over you
Why’d you tell him about this? Now he’s asking to go with you out of pity
You refused to look at him
“Y/N, if you don’t want to go, that’s fine, but my offer still stands.” Robert’s voice is comforting but you only shrug in response. “Wanna get back to rehearsing?”
You nodded

Steve: Oh, we’re now one big family! And I’m the dad, and Natasha’s the mom
Nat: Why am I the mom? What kind of gender roles are we pushing?
Peter: I know they think I’m the son but I’m not. I’ll be the gay, emo cousin
Y/n: I’LL BE THE DAUGHTER! The hotshot, who’s only dream... is to be in a loving family
Clint: I think I’m a fresh out of jail uncle
Tony: And I’m the sassy aunt. Who talks shit about everyone

Rainfall and School
Tony Stark x Teen! Reader
Summary: Tony notices his ward is a bit down in the dumps, and asks what’s wrong.
The reader has social anxiety like I do, I know that anxiety manifests in different ways, and this is what mine does. Know your limits and take care of yourselves guys! Lots of hugs and love!
Tumblr media
Tony Stark entered the room of his ward, Y/N, and found them sitting in their window seat, staring at the New York skyline. No music came from the sound system, and not an earbud in sight.
"You doing okay, kiddo?” he asked warily.
"Can I be homeschooled?" they asked quietly, not even turning to face him.
"Okay, where's this coming from?" he questioned, genuine concern taking over.
“I've been going to school for six months, and I havent made any friends,” Y/N explained, voice getting wobbly. "I keep trying to hang out with people that I think show interest in hanging out with me, but they just flat out ignore me. I'm done trying anymore and I wanna stay here, I'm too weird and awkward and dumb for people to want to hang out with me."
Tony sat down next to the quietly crying teenager and pulled them close so that their head rested next to the softly glowing Arc Reactor.
“I'm sorry you're going through that kiddo," he murmured into the soft, Y/H/C hair. "If they don't think you're cool, then they don't deserve to hang out with you."
Y/N laughed brokenly and pressed closer to her guardian.
“I don't think that's how it works, but thanks, Tony," they mumbled.
"Anything else?"
"You know I get sensory overload really easily in big crowds and I get out-peopled within a few hours? That's one of the biggest reasons,” Y/N mumbled.
“Yeah , you and your social anxiety,” Tony agreed.
“I also know that no one freaking cares,” they whispered as though they didn't want it to be true.
“Hey, I care,” the billionaire objected indignantly.
"You’re my guardian, you're legally obligated.”
“Okay, unfair. I could easily be one of those assholes who took you in as a charity case for publicity, get you a small platoon of nannies, and never see you outside of photoshoots. I spend time with you because I genuinely like you as a person and a friend. You've got a great sense of humor, your taste in music is excellent, you're creative. I could go all damn day, kiddo. You're one of my favorite people, alright?"
Obviously trying not to cry more, Y/N nodded and hugged the billionaire tightly, hiding their face in his shoulder. Smiling sadly at the gesture, he rubbed soft circles on their back as he took in the rainfall over the Big Apple.
