The biggest and ugliest lie that we are made to believe is, the portrayal of love should be pure and genuine and considerate, and this and that. Listen young ones! Love itself is purity, genuineness and consideration.
If your definition of love is something that "should be" pure and not something that "is" pure, I'm sorry for you. You are not getting it at all. You're living the disgraceful concept of being in love.
Love itself is a form of understanding, empathy, and having each other's back without asking for it. There is no love without these prerequisites. It can be something else, anything, but not love.

Read, read, read. Read everything -- trash, classics, good and bad, and see how they do it. Just like a carpenter who works as an apprentice and studies the master. Read! You'll absorb it. Then write. If it's good, you'll find out. If it's not, throw it out of the window.
— William Faulkner.
