You know what makes me the most upset about the use of AI in our culture? It's not just removing artists from art or devaluing human creativity -- it's treating people like they're disposable.

Oh, you're not that special. We have computers to do that now. If you died tomorrow, we have your image. We have your voice. We have your biometric data. We can just duplicate you, it's no problem. Who needs flesh and blood? Who needs agency and free thought? Who needs the human soul? You're just a tool. And when we're done with you, we'll just toss you aside and find someone else.

Creatives, listen to me, and listen to me good: you have a voice and it matters. There is no one in the history of the world who is exactly like you, in this time or this place. There is no one who thinks like you, acts like you, speaks like you, moves like you. There is nobody else built like you. Nobody else with your unique experiences and outlook of the world. You are a product of history, of culture, of art, of love, of pain, of possibility. Don't let them take that from you.

Wonderful Things That May or May Not Be Wonderful!!! You know success is defined as "the accomplishment of an aim or purpose" and since there are millions of different aims and/or purposes that one can strive for, there are millions of different ways to achieve the ethereal property. And for all of those millions of ways, success is a good thing right? I mean, aside from the traps laid out by genre savvy supervillains or "Springtime For Hitler'' situations, right? Well, to me, it seems as if humanity's negativity bias wants to take every success that we have and trivialize it. That we don't deserve to succeed at anything with our numerous flaws. That any success we do have is due to luck or a fluke. That any completed task is meaningless because there is another one just around the corner. And of course, there is the fear that if we do indulge in the things we do right, it is a sign of hubris, of pigheadedness, of overconfidence & arrogance that will cause us to crash and burn. But that seems ridiculous, doesn't it? Sure, success may not always lead to happiness as humanity is always looking for what it does not have but to deny the things you do have it, deny the good things that come our way, that's not what this channel is about and I don't think that's what life is about. Besides, extremism in any form whether good or ill-intentioned is a bad thing. I think it is ok to cheer after winning a game or pat yourself on the back after finishing all your work for a week or letting yourself feel good after only getting a single paragraph down on a piece of paper in a massive project. You don't need an extravagant party, just some acknowledgement that you, in some sense, succeeded at something even if it seems as minor as getting out of bed in the morning (which is a pretty important accomplishment if I'm being honest). Frankly, this is a lesson I still struggle with day to day. Really, I chose this topic because in truth, this is my 400th wonderful post and it seemed apt. After all, managing to keep myself writing pieces of positivity once a day for most days over the course of more than a year is something that I should probably be proud of. Maybe you too can find things you've done that you can be proud of too. I'm sure they won't be the last. Maybe I'm speaking nonsense. Maybe just rambling at this point. Even still, success can be sweet and success can be wonderful. That's the truth.
