Packaged Deal
Daryl Dixon x Reader
Content warnings: Fighting, swearing, gunshot wound, death, all that fun stuff
Tumblr media
It had always been Daryl and Y/N, they where a pair, a packaged deal. Through the twists and turns of life, through every war, walker and supply run, they found their way back together, and this supply run wasn't any different. The rumbling of his motorcycle's engine and the feeling of your arms around his torso where familiar, wind whipping through your hair as you approached your destination, a run down farm supply store another group had spotted a week back, but hadn't had the time to investigate.
You and Daryl dismounted the vehicle and secured your empty bags to your shoulders, ready to retrieve anything and everything from the confined of the slightly dilated building. You both pulled out your crossbow and knifes respectively and marched towards it.
You where thankful the group before had stumbled across such a hidden gem, it had apparently not been a very populated area before the outbreak because the lack of walkers around the area was prevalent. A fact you where grateful for so either of you wouldn't have to waste any energy.
"y/n"
Daryl's voice graveled quietly as you two stepped into the shop.
"don'cha thinks its weird the bell is gone"
After a questioning look you sent him, he pointed above your heads at the door frame, the place bell to alert employees would usual be, it was gone, not unlike someone had unscrewed the mechanism. You shook off the paranoid thought tho, there could be so many reasons it was gone.
"Yeah"
You began to respond "but the place isn't in the best condition, i wouldn't be surprised if it fell off even before the outbreak" Daryl nodded in silent agreement, but still kept the thought in the back of his mind.
Pacing forward your eyes raked across the walls and floor, finally landing on some bags of seeds of the shelves before tossing them into your pack, finding a home on top of the first aid kid you had packed. You planed to plant them in your garden back in Alexandria. A few more items joined the pile, extra fishing line, a hammer and nails, and even a dark grey hunting knife you snagged from box hidden under dust and dead plants. Continuing down the rows of empty shelves and boxed your foot hit something soft on the group, it was a mattress. A few threadbare blankets laid on top of it that you quickly stuffed into your pack, someone must have camped here at the start of the outbreak, judging by the dust that made you sneeze and you lifted up the fabric.
Just as you passed the last aisle to where Daryl was standing examining a spade, a loud noise approached both of you, it was the sound of a loud car driving closer and closer to the store. Catching Daryls eye you both hid behind a large pile of boxes, holding your knifes and crossbow respectively as the engine of the car sputtered to a stop, though voices quickly filled it.
"Dude i swear when i get in there im gunna pass out"
A man grumbled, seemingly younger by the sound of his voice.
"Yeah yeah ill take first watch, but we gotta clean the place up, its been months we don't know if theres biters or rats or shit in there"
Another voice chimed in, deeper this time.
'So people had been camping out here' You thought to yourself as you made eye contact with the man crouching next to you, a concerned look painted on your face. Shifting anxiously a third voice met your ears. You where outnumbers by the sound of it, and you didn't know if they had more on their way.
You scratched your arm absentmindedly, it was an anxious tick you'd always had. Daryl placed his own hand over your, squeezing it slightly in a reassuring manner, the action spoke words he couldn't say, words that would get you two caught my the quickly approaching group of enemies.
"Do yall hear anything? Like breathin or something?"
You freeze, hand coming up to cover your mouth quickly, not noticing how your breath had become slightly labored in anxiety.
"Could just be a breeze Joe, done be so paranoid"
"mm whatever. The man"
Joe grumbled, resuming what seemed to be kicking a small rock down the aisle. The sound of his boots and the stones impact on the ground echoing closer and closer to you and Daryl's hiding spot, until it came into view. He had kicked it too hard to the right, and now it was sitting just next to your frozen form.
As he bent down to pick it up you took your chance, whipping out your knife and holding it against his throat with a steady hand, causing his body to stiffen and looked between you and daryl with wide eyes.
"move, talk, do anything, ill kill you, understand?"
Your voice was quiet but authoritative, a harsh tone that was rarely heard. Joe nodded his head hesitantly. Just as you where steadying yourself to rise from your crouched position his mouth opened.
"ANDY THERES PEOPLE BACK HE-"
His sentence finished with a gurgling sound as you stuck the knife into his throat. Daryl took out his cross bow and you both rose, gazes meeting determinately, you where getting out of here.
The other men quickly ran towards the source of the noise, and after eyeing their friends dead body the glint of revenge in their eyes was piercing, and for a second it was silent.
A searing pain erupted in your shoulder, the feeling spreading like fire all around you body and you firmly grasped where the feeling resided, trying desperately to stop the sensation. You felt a warm liquid covered your hand just as your other senses came into focus, the sound of fighting, the smell of gunpowder, that motherfucker had shot you.
Forcing your self to steady your hands around the grip of your knife you scanned your surrounding. Daryl was fist fighting a man on the floor, his cross bow thrown feet away by his enemy. Your feet scrambled to get close to him, to help him but a force interrupted you. Tackling you to the ground, one of the men pinning your hand with his knees as he threw punches at you.
Thinking as fast as you could in your slightly delirious state and desperate to escape his grasp, you jammed your knee between his legs.
"YOU FUCKIN BITCH"
Howling in pain and yelling profanities it caused his friend to notice the commotion. Whipping out his gun the man who had been attacking daryl not pointed the weapon at him, then he spoke.
"Now no one else here has to die. You just put down your weapons, give us your bags and leave"
With no other choice, Daryl being held at gunpoint, you slowly laid your knife down and painfully adjusting your still bleeding shoulder, dropped your backpack too.
"Good good"
The man waved the gun at the arched in a gesture for him to remove any weapons or supplies as well. Begrudgingly he did, and the enemy kicked his stuff away to the wall with yours.
"Now I said no one has to die.."
He trailed of slightly, holding his gun casual as the other man behind you finally stood up, blocking you from running.
"Buuuuut, you killed Joe" He now pointed his weapon at you, finger on the trigger.
"So your gunna die anyway"
"NO" Daryl suddenly jumped up just as he was about the squeeze the trigger. The archer grabbed him by the side, pushing him down to the ground just as the shot fired. The ringing noise echoed along with the bloody sounds of someone getting shot in the neck.
Slowly turning behind you, the blood splattered onto your already stained clothes and face. The man who had attached you earlier, dead against the wall. Your eyes quickly traced back to where daryl lay, desperately holding his attacker away, his knife beginning to press into his chest.
"Y/N FUCKING RUN" He yelled and you could here the slight edge of desperateness in his voice, he wanted you to get out alive even if he died. But you and daryl where a pair, a packaged deal, and you weren't going to leave him behind just because he told you to.
"NO!"
Lunging at the man above him you knocked the knife out of his hand, with no weapon in yours and not thinking clearly from blood loss and shock you just hit, blows to his face coming without you even recognizing you where throwing them. You didnt stop until a pair of firm but gentle arms wrapped around you, pulling you back from the dead man.
"Shh sunshine its alrigh', just breath its ok"
His gravely voice came from behind you and your heart rate slowed, the pain was catching up to you and a slight whimper left you mouth. Daryl turned you around and held your body to move you away from the dead ones. Brushing your hair out of your face he comforted you.
"Im here, your here, we're ok"
And you where, even with a bullet wound in your shoulder and both of your faces bruised, you where ok, you where together.
"Are you ok?"
Your voice was weak from the screaming you hadnt realized had left your throat before.
"Your shot and your askin me if Im ok?" His mouth tilted up in the slightest ghost of a smile, removing the ripped part of your shirt to asses the damage.
"Well If worry about you Dixon"
His eyes where soft, cleaning the blood from you wound and covering it will all the bandages he could, knowing you wouldn't be able to get proper help until they got back to Alexandria it was all he could do.
"I worry bout you too dumbass, you could have got yourself killed"
"It was for a good cause, I wasn't leavin' you that easy" And you laughed, it hurt like bitch when the sound it echoed through your shoulder but you didn't mind, and he smiled too, so it was worth it.

Tumblr media
You didn’t realize that it was possible to shake so much. You were practically panicking- just from standing in front of an apartment door, ready to knock and meet the man who changed your life.
You’d woken up this morning bright and early. The Facetime call was still on with Corpse and small snores could be heard from his line. You had prayed that he’d gotten at least more than an hour, but doubted it as you hung up and sent a message about when you’d be leaving.
Corpse soon messaged back saying that he was awake as you finally finished packing- you’d stopped last night when he called- so you got in your car and drove the two hours it took to get to San Diego.
So now you stood in front of his apartment, practically trembling. Why you were so anxious, you didn’t know. You’d been talking to him for how long now? And it was never awkward.
But things could easily change when you met him in real life, couldn’t they?
You shook those thoughts out of your head and mustered up enough courage to knock on Corpse’s door, already becoming out of breath from such a simple gesture.
A crash sounded from in the apartment, followed by a small ‘fuck’ that made your heart flip. Soon after, the door opened and you looked up, finally coming eye to eye with him. You couldn’t help the grin that stretched across your face, mirroring his own as he smiled at you as well.
“Hi.” You internally smacked yourself for not saying more, but that’s truly all that could come out of your mouth at the moment.
“Hey. You’re uh- you’re so much prettier in real life.” Corpse responded, looking nearly everywhere but you.
You flushed. “And you’re super attractive, but I already suspected that.”
You could tell he was taken aback by your compliment because he suddenly became even more shy, silently moving out of the doorway and gesturing for you to enter.
“I’m going to film again with everyone in a few minutes, but first I can show you my bedroom so you can make yourself comfortable.” Corpse said after he closed the door. “You can sleep in there and I’ll stay on the couch-“
“Absolutely not.” You interjected, “I’m not kicking you out of your bed.”
“But you’re the guest and I’m not about to let you sleep on my couch.”
“And you’re the owner of this apartment and I’m not going to take over your space like that. I’m sleeping on the couch.”
Corpse groaned and reached his arm out towards you. You thought he was going to just shove your shoulder away for being stubborn, but instead he wrapped his arm completely around your shoulders, pulling you into his side as a hug. You grinned and turned, giving him a full hug and resting your cheek against his chest as his chin laid on your head.
“I’m for real glad you came to visit.” He murmured into your hair, squeezing you a bit tighter before letting go. “Do you wanna stream with me tonight or just chill and watch?”
꧁꧂
“Corpse is streaming Among Us again with Sean, Felix, Rae, Sykkuno, Dave, and Leslie!”
“Where’s Y/N? I miss #CorpseY/N !!”
Twitter was truly your go-to platform when you were bored. You’d been scrolling on it for about thirty minutes now, laying on a small couch that Corpse had in his gaming room.
The man himself was sitting across the room at his desk, talking loudly as he defended himself from being accused as Imposter.
You continued to scroll, feeling a little anxious that somehow Corpse just magically knew that you were looking through your ship tag with him. These were your only worried thoughts until you went past your first… unsavory comment of the day.
“Y/N isn’t playing with them again today. Maybe she finally got the hint that they don’t want her around.”
You rolled your eyes and ignored it, but couldn’t help the rather loud sigh that escaped your lips.
“Hey, guys, I’m going to mute the mic for a second. Everything’s good, don’t worry.” Corpse said into his mic before turning around and facing you. “Is everything okay?”
Turning the phone off and laying it on your chest, you contemplated telling Corpse the truth. He’d just worry about you and you didn’t want that. But he already was worried about you- he’d muted Among Us just to check on you.
“Why are people so mean to others?”
Corpse studied you for a minute before patting his lap. “Come here.”
You quirked an eyebrow. “Excuse me?”
“You're excused. Now come here.”
You stood up and cautiously walked towards the man, who sat before you expectantly. He playfully rolled his eyes and grabbed your wrist, pulling you into his lap sideways. Your back rested against one arm of his gaming chair while your legs draped across the other.
Corpse had one arm reaching around your back, placing his fingers on the keyboard while the other rested on top of your knees, grabbing the computer mouse. You laid your head on Corpse’s shoulder, resting in the crook of his neck.
“It’s in that shipping hashtag, isn’t it? I swear- whoever says that shit about you is dead wrong. Tell me if it gets worse, I’ll put them back in their fucking place. Nobody gets to decide who I’m with or who’s worthy of me.”
You only nodded and closed your eyes, breathing in Corpse’s cologne as he unmuted his mic once more to defend his honor, much like he was ready to defend you.
꧁꧂
Your body ached.
As you had argued your first day with Corpse, you’d been sleeping on his couch for four days now. The first night was okay- his couch was rather comfortable, but it didn’t compare to a bed. Now, your back, shoulders, and neck were killing you.
Every day, 7am would roll around and you would wake up, the soreness preventing you from sleeping in longer.
Usually, you would go into Corpse’s room and talk to him as he messed around on his laptop while sitting in his bed, but today when you entered, he was finally sleeping. It was the first time you’d seen him rest since you’d arrived and you quietly left, not wanting to disturb his much-needed sleep.
You made your way to his small kitchen, pulling out the few groceries that he had in his refrigerator to make breakfast.
Corpse often ate fast foods and takeout, and apologized earlier in the week for not having much to eat. You reassured him that it was okay- that him just letting you visit was enough- and now, you were determined to make it up to him with the best breakfast in bed ever.
You were halfway through making breakfast when the soft thump of feet echoed in the doorway before a chin planted itself on your shoulder.
“Whatcha cookin?” You practically shuddered at Corpse’s morning voice before suddenly gasping and shoving him out of the kitchen.
“No! No!” You pushed him back to his room, “Stay! Go back to bed, now!”
Right as you turned to go back to the kitchen, Corpse caught your wrist and pulled you down onto the bed with him. You practically squealed as you fell, making him laugh.
“Why? What’s going on?” He turned to face you with a teasing smile.
“I was making you breakfast in bed! I was gonna surprise you when you woke up, but you ruined it.” You pouted.
“Aw, poor baby.” His hand reached up and brushed a stray hair out of your face before he traced down your jawline, reaching your chin and using his finger to tilt it up. “I think I’ve got a better surprise, though.”
You quirked an eyebrow, but before you could say anything his lips were on yours. Your heart stopped, but you almost immediately melted into his kiss, bringing your own hand up to cup his cheek while his moved to rest on your waist.
Corpse soon propped himself up on his elbow, never once leaving your lips- just deepening the kiss. He smiled and gave you a few more pecks before finally pulling away and looking at you in adoration.
“Those little hate comments? They’re wrong. If anything, I don’t deserve you. You’ve still got me under a little spell and I wouldn’t have it any other way.”
“Corpse, you deserve the world and I’d be honored to be the one to give it to you.”
“God, you’re perfect for me.”
You couldn’t say anything else. You could only lay beneath him, admiring the man who was now yours. Corpse leaned down again to capture you in another kiss, but you suddenly jerked away before you could lose yourself again.
“Shit, the pancakes!”

Part I: Here
♦⋅☆⋅♦ Y/N pressed her left foot on the clutch pedal, turned the car key and heard the engine roaring loudly afterwards. She added the address on the GPS, looked at herself in the mirror for a moment taking a deep breath, trying to stay calm and focused. She put the car in first gear, and started driving from her apartment complex's private parking lot to the main road.
As her small and comfortable car drove through the streets of Los Angeles, the girl kept listening to what was on the radio. Every now and then, her stomach would churned with nervousness but she would take a deep breath and smile uncertainly to herself, trying to convince herself that everything would be okay.
Fed up with the podcast she was listening to, turned her car's Bluetooth on when she had to stop at a red traffic light, she switched to her current favorite Playlist.
Distracted by the music and humming softly accompanied by Rihanna's voice, she put the first gear back on, moving the car forward when the traffic light turned green, quickly shifting to the second and then putting on the third.
Her mind was racing, however.
Life had gone well since that specific day... since Y/N and Corpse confessed their feelings to each other. Their mutual friends that they played with knew the truth and were extremely happy for them, which was wonderful and soothing. Outside of them, no one else knew what had happened.
Corpse and Y/N talked every day, stayed on the phone every night until one of them fell asleep unfortunately, the girl always fell asleep first, and saw each other through FaceTime whenever they could.
In other words, the two could say that they were basically dating already... Even though there was never a real question. But perhaps that was about to change, for the day had finally come when they would meet physically.
A sound of receiving a phone call invaded the car and interrupted her thoughts. With a smile on her lips already knowing who was, Y/N clicked on the answer button and waited while entering a roundabout.
"Hey." That characteristic deep voice was heard.
"Hey you." She replied while looking briefly at his name written on the car screen.
"Are you on your way yet?"
"Yes, I just left the house. I'll be there In about two hours, depending on the traffic today."
Corpse cleared his throat and Y/N almost visualized him playing with his rings, and messing with his dark curly hair. "Are you sure you haven't forgotten anything?"
"Well, I hope not. I’ve had my bags packed for two days, but I think I have everything that is necessary with me. If not, there is no problem really." She replied.
"This is going to... This is really going to happen isn't it?" She could hear the smile in the man's voice.
"Yes, Corpse, it is. We will finally meet in person."
"I can't wait to see you." He whispered.
Y/N felt her cheeks warm for a moment, and she knew that if she looked in the mirror she would see a dark pink tone on her skin. She bit her lower lip in an attempt to stop the huge smile. "I can't wait to give you a big hug and tell you everything face to face."
Corpse laughed deeply, his tone was warm and full of emotion. "I know... I am anxious, and I am not going to lie about it. I'm super nervous. My hands are shaking so much that I don't even know how I haven't dropped my phone yet."
"Oh, Corpse..." Y/N whispered with a heavy heart, but was attentive to the road at the intersection where she was. "There is no reason to be nervous, it's just me. It’s just us."
"I know..." He sighed softly. After a few minutes without speaking, enjoying the comfortable silence between the two and listening to the sound of the Y/N’s car motor, he continued. "Well..." Corpse cleared his throat. "I will let you concentrate on your driving. Be careful and pay attention to the road."
"I will, I’ll see you later."
"Bye."
"Bye, Corpse."
The call ended but the anxiety and nervousness did not. However, only the sound of his voice and the small conversation they had was able to make Y/N smile all the way to San Diego.
                                                          ♦⋅☆⋅♦
Y/N pressed the turn signal, the green arrow flashing to the right, and parked the car in an empty parking space in front of the building. The woman's neutral and almost robotic voice came from the GPS saying: You have reached your destination. Shaking in her place, the girl put on the brake and turned off the car, taking a deep breath trying to calm herself once more.
It was now or never... Should she send him a message to let him know she was already there? Should she just knock on the door? Her hands were shaking so much, and her heart was beating so hard and so fast that it almost hurt.
She sat in the driver's seat for a few more minutes, so nervous she might pass out. It is better to just go there, she thought, the longer it takes the more nervous I will become.
She took a deep breath, unbuckled her seat belt, removed the keys from the ignition and quickly got out of the car, closing the door behind her, and going to the trunk to remove the pink suitcase. When it was on the floor next to her, she closed the trunk and locked the car safely, looking at the intimidating building in front of her.
Without further ado she approached it, opened the entrance door, climbed the stairs with some difficulty to his floor, and trembling, she shyly knocked on the door with her knuckles.
That door was opened so fast that it even scared her.
They were both looking at each other almost stunned... Finally they were there, in person, just a meter away and with a spine of the door separating them. Corpse was even more beautiful in person, and Y/N found herself lost in his dark eyes for a while.
"Hi..." She said sheepishly.
Corpse looked at her examining her from head to toe as if he couldn't believe she was real. Finally he smiled so beautifully that she almost forgot to breathe. "Hi." He replied.
Y/N dragged the suitcase a little closer to her, uncertain how to proceed. She didn't have time to think, however, as Corpse seemed to get tired of the waiting and shyness between them, crossed the space between the two and took her in his arms. His body was warm against hers, extremely hot, and his embrace was loving and passionate. Y/N inhaled his attractive scent - a mixture of soap, men's perfume and something else - and Corpse laughed through her hair.
"You’re here!" He exclaimed loudly, laughing deeply, spinning in circles with her still in his arms laughing out loud like he was.
When the two were inside the apartment, Corpse released her and pulled her suitcase inside as well, closing the door to prevent any curious neighbor from trying to see what was going on.
The two of them stayed there with smiles so big on their faces that their cheeks hurt… But it was definitely a good pain.
"I don't even know what to say..." Y / N confessed, practically shaking with excitement in her place.
Corpse smiled again, taking her hand timidly and gently, caressing her skin and interlacing their fingers and pulling her closer to him. "Me neither."
They were silent just enjoying the moment, and enjoying the fact that they were there, together... that it was real. How many times had they imagined this? How many times had they dreamed of that moment?
Corpse lowered his head slightly looking into her eyes intently, but his brows furrowed as if something troubling was going through his mind. "I…"
"What is it?" Y/N questioned worriedly.
Corpse made a shy expression. “Can I… Can I kiss you?”
Y/N's cheeks caught fire but her smile was so big, and she was so happy that she felt like she was going to explode at any moment. "Yes! Yes, of course you can…"
The young man approached, with his hand on Y/N's waist to pull her closer and the other one climbing up her arm, her shoulder, then her neck and resting on her burning cheek, where he was caressing the hot skin. Their fresh, labored and nervous breaths mingled, closing the distance until their lips touched, finally in what felt like an explosion of fireworks or an explosion of magic. Corpse's lips were soft and warm against hers, kissing her tenderly, as he brought their bodies together even more almost as if he was afraid that she would disappear at any moment.
The kiss was a mixture of lips and tongues, longing, passion and mostly love. It ended faster than they would have liked, but they stayed in each other's arms, sharing passionate smiles.
After a moment, Corpse whispered, "I still think this is a dream, and that I'm going to wake up after the normal three fucking hours that I can barely sleep."
Y/N laughed with her heart leaping and butterflies in her belly, playing with the laces of the black sweatshirt he had worn that day, wrapping it around her fingers and looking him in the dark eyes. "Me too, I've pinched myself hundreds of times today just to make sure this was real. But if this is a dream, I don't want to wake up anymore."
"I will punch the face of anyone who tries to wake me up." Corpse joked making Y/N let out the laugh he liked so much to hear.
"I love you." She whispered dizzy with emotion.
"That’s good, because I love you too."

Right Here Waiting
Tumblr media
Friends!!! I am so sorry that I haven't posted in like weeks. I was taking time to relax and refresh. This is for all my Dean girls! I hope you all have a beautiful weekend. Thank you so much for reading! Much love *kisses*
Summary: You get hurt on a hunt and Dean faces the fact that he might lose you before he gets to tell you how he feels.
Pairings: Dean x Reader.
Warnings: Talk of death. Angst. Fluff. Angsty fluff. Few swear words.
--------------------------
Deans back practically rammed through the door, almost knocking it off its hinges. He dragged you into the motel room with Sam running in behind him, his arms full of weapons and bags. Your head lolled from side to side against Dean's chest as he walked backward toward one of the beds. His limp was bad, and every step was agonizing, but he was determined to take care of you first. He threw you down on the bed and grabbed your face between his hands.
“Y/N!” He screamed, his voice nervous and shaky. You didn’t move, didn’t even flinch. He shook your shoulders, his bloody hands grasping your shirt.
“Dean!” Sam yelled at his brother. It was almost as if Dean didn’t hear him, just continued to stare into your face. “Dean!” Sam tried again, grabbing Dean’s jacket this time.
"Not now, Sam!" Dean shrugged Sam's hands-off and grabbed your shirt again, shaking you even harder this time.
"Dean!" Sam shouted, grabbing his brother by the jacket with both hands and picking him up off your body. Dean pushed against Sam's hands, his breath coming in fast and hard as he tried to get back to you. "Dean," Sam said softly this time. "She has a head injury; you can't shake her like that." He let go of Dean's jacket and patted his shoulder compassionately, telling him he completely understood his brother's outburst. Dean nodded quickly and dragged his hand over his mouth, feeling the blood on his skin. He looked down at his hand, and his lips parted at the shock of seeing it covered in blood. At that moment, he realized how much pain he was in; he collapsed into Sam’s chest when his leg gave out suddenly. Sam caught him and moved to the bed, helping Dean sit down next to you and looking at his leg. Dean kicked his jeans off and saw the wicked-looking gash across his thigh and dragging over his knee. He winced at the sight of blood and his torn flesh.
"How did you get so lucky? That wendigo tore me and Y/N apart." Dean asked Sam, who seemed unharmed.
“I have a bullet wound on my arm from when Y/N shot at it and missed it," Sam said, his voice was eerily calm.
“You have a bullet…Sam!” Dean screamed. He started looking at Sam's arms, and sure enough, there was a hole in his left jacket sleeve with a stream of blood trailing down.
"I'll worry about it later. You could bleed out." Sam said, getting out the stitches and gauze. He moved his left arm as little as possible, stitching his brother to the best of his abilities. Dean distracted himself by looking over at you, your face peaceful on the puke green bedspread. He couldn't imagine what would happen if you didn't wake up. He didn't want to look in the rearview mirror again if you weren't curled up in the back seat, your eyes catching his every once in a while. He didn't want to fall asleep at night without listening to your quiet breaths, even and steady. How could he manage another hunt without being able to celebrate with you after? He didn’t want to think about it, couldn’t let himself fall into that pit of despair.
His thoughts were interrupted when Sam accidentally stabbed him; he mumbled a “sorry” and kept working. He finally finished, wiping away at all the blood and standing up. He handed Dean the gauze and flopped down next to him on the bed, slowly taking off his jacket and shirt. His hands clenched from the pain. Sam turned so Dean could clean and inspect the wound for bullet fragments. Finding none, he wrapped Sam’s arm in gauze. The brothers then passed a bottle of whiskey back and forth between them, looking back at you with every sip. Sam placed a reassuring hand on his brother's shoulder, sending him a small smile.
“She’s gonna be okay." He said. Dean didn't answer; he just kept staring at you lying on the bed.
“Sam I…” He let his voice trail off, not wanting to finish his sentence.
“I know, Dean. I know.” Sam nodded his head and looked at the ground. You had been unconscious for about two hours now, and the boys were both growing with anxiety. Sam considered you his best friend. His companion on this long and broken road. He loved you and often showed you, exposing his thoughts and feelings to you when he couldn't count on anyone else. You were like a sister to him, a familial and strong bond that couldn't break. Dean was a different story. You and Dean were more than close. He considered you an extension of himself. He found himself waking before you so you would have a hot coffee when you woke up. He found ways to touch you, to let his skin move over yours for just a moment. No matter how fleeting the time maybe. He wanted to be flooded by you, surrounded by you in the dark of night. To feel your hair tickle his skin. Your scent cascades its way through him and fill him completely. He dreamt of a time when he could look into your eyes, deeply and passionately. Dream of a time when he could run his hands through your hair, feeling the strands slip between his fingers. He thought of you every day. Whispered your name into the night.
Now it looked like you may be slipping away. He could barely stand to look at you, knowing how badly you were hurt. Your skin was starting to bruise. A grotesque handprint was on your bicep where the wendigo had grabbed you and thrown you into the cave wall harshly. He scowled at the memory and swallowed thickly. He moved and limped his way into the bathroom, wetting a washcloth with warm water. He limped back to the bed and signaled to Sam to help him move you into a more comfortable position. He laid your head on the pillow while Sam straightened your legs before moving to his bed.
“Want me to stay up?” Sam asked.
"Nah, Sammy, I'll watch her," Dean responded, sitting back down next to you on the bed.
"Okay, wake me when she wakes up," Sam said around a yawn. Dean gave him a small smile and lifted your hand in his, beginning to wipe the dirt from your skin. He gently wiped all your exposed skin, pushing the hair away from your forehead. Your chest was moving slowly but surely, up and down, giving Dean a sense of peace. He moved toward the head of the bed and leaned his back against the headboard, stretching his aching muscles. He grabbed the bottle of whiskey again and watched the amber liquid slosh in the glass. His eyes kept wandering back to you, worry evident on his face.
Your face twitched first, eyebrows furrowing and lips curling. You moaned and rolled your head slowly, eyelashes fluttering open.
“Hey. Hey. Don’t move too much.” Dean said. He pulled himself over to you and grabbed your hand within his, looking into your fluttering eyes with concern. Waking up to Dean was something you could get used to. Jade eyes and freckles were greeting you softly. You groaned and suddenly felt the heaviness in your head. The pounding and splitting ache felt as if someone filled your head with rocks and shook it violently.
“Dean? What happened?” You whispered. Your voice was raspy and weak.
"The wendigo. It threw you against the cave wall. You hit your head pretty badly." He whispered back; his fingers brushed against your cheek as he tried to assess the extent of your head wound.
“Jesus, it's bright in here." You grumbled, lifting your head slightly. Dean tried to wrap his hands around your shoulders to support you. "I'm fine." You mumbled and tried to sit up, immediately regretting your decision. The room spun, and nausea hit your stomach hard. You fell back against the bed and placed your palm against your forehead, your eyes slamming shut.
“Shit, Y/N, just lay down.” Dean’s voice sounded annoyed and concerned at the same time.
“What’s that sound?” You asked through gritted teeth.
“What sound?” Dean asked, looking around the room with wide frantic eyes.
“That ringing! Oh my god, it’s so loud.” You said, moving your hands to your ears.
“Y/N? Y/N! Hey!" You heard him talking over you, but the sound was so loud, and you were so tired. Your skin felt heavy on your bones. Your neck was unable to lift your head. You couldn't take the ringing anymore; it was so loud in your head. Bouncing off your skull like bullets. The room began to shrink around you, the corners of your vision becoming dark and blurry. Your eyes closed again, and you slowly sank into the blackness that was calling your name with its warm voice. You felt your body move but didn't wake. Felt smooth leather of the backseat of the impala against the skin of your hands, but didn’t move. You thought you heard Dean's panicked voice saying your name but knew it was just a dream. The soft feeling of sleep surrounding you in its peaceful and calming hold.
Dean grabbed your face in between his hands, his mouth repeating your name over and over again as he watched you fall into the blackness. Sam raced to his brother's side, falling to his knees on the side of the bed, looking at your closed eyes.
“Y/N!” Dean screamed. “No, no, no, no, baby. Wake up for me.” He pleaded, this thumbs rubbing circles into your cheeks.
"Dean, we have to get her to the hospital!" Sam yelled, standing up and putting his hand on his brother's shoulder. He practically pushed Dean off of you and bent at the waist, placing his shoulder into your stomach, wrapping his arm around you, and lifting you as if you were a sack. Your body fell over his shoulder. Your hands swayed, and your fingers brushed against the back of his thighs. Dean pulled pants onto his legs quickly and limped to the car. There was a growing worry between them for your wellbeing. The silent communication that they often shared was thick with concern. Sam drove to the closest hospital while Dean held you in his arms in the backseat. His hands moved over your arms and shoulders. His mouth whispering your name and soft ‘please’s and ‘not yet’s into your hair as his lips brushed your ear.
------------------
The hospital was bright and loud when the boys pushed through the door. Dean limping, his stitches pulling with every step while Sam had you thrown over his shoulder. Nurses ran over to the three of you and helped Sam place you on a stretcher. They wheeled you away, and the boys looked helplessly down the white and sterile hallway. The stretcher rammed through the double doors, and you were gone. The doors closed, and Dean felt his heart sink lower into his chest, hope fading inside him quickly.
Dean was sitting next to Sam in the waiting room for family. The blue plastic chair was uncomfortable and hard against his aching body. He didn't know how to feel or act. His body felt old and used. His mind felt fuzzy and disoriented. He couldn't decide if he was heartbroken or angry. His soul was in a battle between an explosion of anger and pain or silent suffering within his skin. He rested his elbows on his thighs, ignoring the pain against his freshly stitched skin, and bowed his head. Tears sprung to his eyes, but he swallowed them down, not allowing the flood to happen yet. You had to be okay; you had to pull through. You were strong. So fucking strong. You had to wake up, open those beautiful Y/E/C eyes of yours and give Dean that small smirk that made his heart stop.
“Mr. Jacobson?” The doctor asked, looking around the room and interrupting Dean’s thoughts.
“Yes?” Dean said, standing up and limping towards the doctor, Sam right next to him.
“You’re here for Serena Jacobson?” He asked, checking his clipboard. You had this all planned since you started working with the boys. You all had false papers with fake names for insurance purposes. On some, you and Dean were married; on others, you and Sam were married. Dean just happened to be the one who threw the papers down this time.
"Yes," Sam answered this time, swallowing hard and looking at Dean for a moment.
"She suffered a severe concussion and had some brain swelling. At the moment, it is still touch and go; we have her on sedatives that we will slowly decrease, so she wakes on her own." He said. Dean blinked his eyes and furrowed his brow. He couldn't understand what was being said. His world was collapsing around him as his heart rate skyrocketed. His breath became loud in his ears. His body stiff and cold. Sam placed his hand on Dean's shoulder, and his world snapped back to him suddenly.
“But she’s gonna be okay, right? Doc, she’s gotta be okay.” Dean asked, his voice small.
"Right now, that's up to her." He said, his fingers tapped his clipboard as he nodded at them and walked away. The boys found your room, and Dean thought he was going to vomit. The sight of you in that white, clean, and sterile bed made bile rise into his throat, gagging him slightly. A bed that others had laid in, been sick in, and died in filled his body with dread. His feet brought him over to your bedside. Sam stood on the other side of you; he brushed his fingers along your arm. Dean couldn't bring himself to touch you just yet. Your glowing skin looked washed out and dull in the harsh fluorescent lighting. The bruise on your arm stood out against the white sheets. You seemed so small in the bed, so weak and broken, a complete contrast to how you usually were. Dean felt the tears hitting the blanket before he realized he was crying. He couldn't lose you, not yet. Not ever.
--------------------------
You opened your eyes to a sea of color. Green, blue, yellow, red, pink, and purple surrounded you. You felt warm under the sun, its soothing heat touching your exposed skin. The grass was scratchy under your thighs and elbows. The smell of summer was heavy in the air. It's thick and sticky air pulling into your lungs. Purple and pink flowers poked out of the green grass, their faces turned up towards the sun's light. A small creek tripped and stumbled over stones behind you; the sound of it filled you with peace. The sky was so blue with puffy white clouds hanging in it as if someone threw handfuls of cotton into the air. You blinked and looked around, slightly confused about where you were.
"Y/N! Come here!" A male voice said. You immediately sat up to find the source. Your heart dropped in your chest when you saw him, lips parting and breath catching in your throat at the sight. He looked shorter than you remembered. His shoulders that you used to ride on broad and expansive in his simple white t-shirt. He smiled at you, and tears prickled the edges of your eyes instantly.
“Dad?” You asked, standing up and moving towards him.
“Hey, Y/N/N, I’ve missed you so much.” He said with another smile that stung your heart.
“What is happening? What’s going on?” You asked him, sitting down in front of him.
“You’re hurt, sweetie. We are in a space between earth and heaven.” He answered, his body leaning closer to you.
"The wendigo." You said, remembering your head wound. You looked away at the expansive landscape in front of you, understanding, settling in your bones. "I'm dying." You whispered.
“That’s up to you, Y/N.” Your dad replied, his voice just as warm as you remembered.
“What do I do, dad?” You asked him with a trembling voice.
“Whatever you think is best.” He said back, his hand coming to cover yours, and you couldn’t stop the flood that completely engulfed you with emotion. You closed your eyes and relished in the feeling of his skin. He was right here in front of you, and you couldn't stop the swarm that filled you, breaking down all your walls and sweeping you away. You wrapped your arms around your father and took in his scent, clutching his shirt between your fingers.
“I can’t lose you again, daddy.” You mumbled against his shoulder.
"We can stay for a bit; tell me about your life." He said, his hands running over your back comfortingly. You nodded and sat back again, wiping your eyes and sniffling.
"Well, I'm a hunter just like you raised me to be. I hunt with these two men, Sam and Dean; you would like them a lot. Sam is like my big brother; he looks after me and I him on hunts and just in general. He is brilliant and kind; I enjoy his company so much because there is something about him that reminds me of you," You looked up at him with a small grin; he smiled back and nodded, silently telling you to go on. "then there’s Dean, he’s a bit of a different story. He’s strong, really strong. He’s selfless and compassionate…most of the time.” You laughed lightly. “He buys me coffee in the morning and gives me his jacket when I’m cold. He is a good man, they both are, but Dean…he makes me feel special.” You admitted, allowing yourself to say the words aloud for the first time and loving the warm feeling that spread throughout your veins. Your father smiled at you and nodded his head.
"Sounds like you are doing good, sweetie." He said, with a little laugh that made you smile. You nodded your head for a moment. Your lip started to tremble, and you made eye contact with him and slowly shook your head. There was so much you wanted to say, but only one thing came to your mind.
“I don’t want to leave. I want to stay with you.” You licked your bottom lip and let it catch between your teeth.
"That's an option." He said, tilting his head to the side and raising his eyebrows. "But is it the best option?" He asked, and you already knew the answer.
------------------------
Dean swallowed thickly and finally took your hand in his, rubbing his thumb over your wrist. Your skin felt cold, and it made him wince. He opened his mouth to say something but closed it again when he couldn't speak the words. He needed to tell you how he felt. He didn't know if you could hear him, but he had to try. Had to unleash his feelings for you to know. He turned towards Sam and cleared his throat, licking his lips and controlling his emotions for a moment.
“Sammy, can I have a minute?” He said, hearing the crack in his voice.
“Of course. I’ll get us some coffee.” Sam said, nodding and walking out the room, leaving you and Dean alone. Dean turned back to you and wrapped his other hand around yours, warming your skin in between his hands. He looked down at your combined hands and opened his mouth, feeling his lower lip tremble with emotion.
"Y/N, I-I don't know what to say. I need you here with me. I need to wake up every day knowing that you are going to tell me, 'it's too early for good, morning is fine.'" He chuckled softly at the memory of your husky voice and disheveled appearance. “Ya know, when we first met, I thought there was no way this super cool chick was going to stick around. I thought you would work the case with us and then leave us in the dust. You didn't; though, you joined the family. I'm here, sweetheart. I'm here, and I'll be right here waiting for you, Y/N, always.” Dean looked up into your face and moved even closer to you, cupping your cheek in his hand. “Baby, please fight for this. I need you to fight and come back to me. I need you-I just need you, only you. I love you, Y/N. I love you so goddamn much, and you have to wake up, okay? You have to pull through and wake up, because if you don't…I don't know what I'll-." His muscles clenched at the thought of what he would do to save you, eyes closing and tears falling freely down his cheeks. "Come back to me, baby.” He whispered before he leaned forward and kissed your forehead. His lips trembled against your flesh, your hair moving from his heavy sobs. He sat up and clenched his jaw. He was beginning to feel numb. A cold and ominous breath was spreading through his body. He felt dead inside. His skin felt just as cold as yours did. His eyes just as unseeing as yours were. His heart is just as slow and unsure as yours was. He felt open and exposed to the violence that stood menacingly in the back of his mind. He let out a shaky breath and licked his lips, tasting the salty tears. He ran a hand over his face and closed his eyes.
“Y/N.” He breathed your name into the air. One could mistake it for a prayer.
--------------------
You wiped your nose with the back of your hand, closing your eyes and bowing your head. You had an impossible choice in front of you, one that only you could make. It would be so easy to let go and stay here with your father, to live in this happy space with him forever. To get the time back, that was so harshly taken away from you two. It would be so easy to fold and let the sun warm you with its golden light. It would be so easy to watch the clouds roll by until the end of time, laughing in the grass as the creek bubbled in the background. To let someone else handle the hunting for once. Let them clean the blood off their hands. Let them dig graves in the pitch black of night. Let them be the ones stitching up wounds that leave scars along their skin. Let them be the ones who have wounds that no one could stitch up or fix. Scars that cut far deeper than the skin and into the very soul. It would be easy.
"Y/N." A voice called from a distance. A voice you knew all too well, a voice that sent chills down your spine. Dean was calling to you, his voice a breathy whisper. He sounded broken, and it made your heart skip a beat. You closed your eyes and let out a breath. You knew what you had to do.
“I have to go back.” You said, your body curling even tighter into itself.
“It’s not your time yet, Y/N/N.” Your dad said, his strong hand coming to rest on your shoulder. “But when it is, I’ll be here waiting.” He smiled at you, sad eyes letting you know this was the right choice.
“I love you.” Your voice broke around your words.
“I love you too.” He said. You closed your eyes and made your final decision.
-------------------------
Your eyes opened to harsh light. Everything around you was white; all color gone from your vision. The grass no longer tickled your skin. The air felt cold, and it made your bones ache. The creek wasn't falling over stones anymore, instead replaced by silence. Suddenly, there was a beeping next to you that made you jump slightly. You blinked and turned your head to the side to see Dean sitting next to you, his hands wrapped tightly around yours. You couldn't stop the smile that spread across your face, your eyes softening at the sight of him. You wiggled your fingers that were trapped between his, giggling when his head instantly shot up, eyes wide and lips parted. He looked up at you, and a bright, warm, and happy smile touched his face, crinkling the skin around his eyes slightly.
“Y/N?” He said quietly.
“Dean.” You said, your voice soft and horse. He stood from his chair and stepped closer to you, his hands taking your face between them.
“I thought I lost you.” He whispered as he leaned down to press his forehead against yours.
“Not yet.” You said, laughing lightly.
------
Sam stepped into the room and saw his brother leaning over you, your eyes were closed, but you were smiling. Dean leaned down and touched his forehead to yours, and Sam backed out of the room quietly, letting you have your space.
------
Dean went to take his forehead off yours; you quickly grabbed the back of his neck and pulled his lips down to yours, finally letting yourself taste him. He let out a surprised grunt before quickly kissing you back, his fingers twisting into your hair as his mouth opened. He broke the kiss first, leaning back and looking into your eyes, searching for an answer.
"Y/N…I really hope that was more than an 'I'm happy I'm alive' kiss. Because I have been thinking about this for a while." He said, his thumb running over your cheek.
"No, Dean, that was an 'I've wanted to do that for a really long time, and being on the verge of death made me see that I should take chances and tell people how I really feel' kiss." You smiled at him.
“Good, because I have also wanted to do that for a really long time.” He laughed, lowering his eyes shyly.
“I heard you.” You said, taking his hand off your cheek and holding it in yours.
“What?” He asked.
“I heard you say my name when I was asleep. That’s what brought me back.” You said with a small smirk. He looked at you with a combination of embarrassment, awe, and love.
“I was right here.” He looked away and rubbed the back of his neck.
“Waiting for me.” You finished, smiling at the small chuckle that left his mouth.
“Always.” He whispered before connecting his lips to yours once more.

                                                           ///
You fought the urge to kick Hyunjin.
That wasn’t the first time you wondered what you had possibly done wrong with your life along the way to God take a liking to mess up with you. There was no way in hell that you didn’t do anything wrong! No way at all! You had to have done something extremely unforgivable to be obliged to stand up in the street in bloody cold weather to watch your brother squirming as he tried to sober up. You crossed your arms over your chest, judging Hyunjin with all your soul and pitying his best friend for having to put up with him.
“How much did he drink?” You decided to ask Felix, playing the big sister role and deciding to drop your murdering intentions.
Felix shrugged, unsure about what to say to you as he stood behind Hyunjin ─ who was sitting down on the curb ─, playing his role of a back supporter when your brother leaned back, searching for something to rest his head for a while. You studied Felix attentively, noticing how he didn’t seem to be dressed up for a party ─ sweatpants and hoodie looking good on him but not as much as you’d expect for a Friday night ─, yet not missing the way he could stand straight, no sign of drunkenness in his eyes or body. He glanced at you shyly, unsure about why you were taking so long to look at him from head to toes, and suddenly feeling self-conscious about his overall appearance.
“You weren’t with him?” You inquired, getting a silent nod from the boy “Wait- Were you or not?” You frowned, confused by the answer, and Felix rubbed his arm, shaking his head this time to show that he wasn’t there all along “Did he call you too?” You sighed, rolling your eyes “Jeez… What to do with this little shit?” You whined, squatting to get to his eye level.
“Leave me alone” Hyunjin slurred, trying to push your head away from him but missing it by far, slapping your shoulder by mistake. You took a deep breath, closing your eyes to regain your composure and not scrape his face on the ground while Felix smirked, watching you amusedly. The younger boy seemed to take pity on you ─ or maybe he was worried about his best friend’s life ─, leaning to shake Hyunjin’s arm repeatedly in a vain attempt to make him move.
Hyunjin jerked his arm away from him, mumbling something unintelligible as his body threatened to fall forward, prompting you to hold his shoulders, startled by the possibility of being struck down. Felix jolted his hands to hold him back, just as startled as you, placing them right on top of yours. You snapped your eyes at him, feeling your face warming up but refusing to acknowledge it, and getting a tiny bit disappointed when he retracted his hand without a second thought.
Felix lowered his head, carefully holding his own hand and rubbing his thumb on his palm before he lifted his gaze, looking around the crowded place with melancholic eyes and then glancing at you. Did he hurt his hand or something? You frowned, staring at him for a few seconds before pushing your worries aside when Hyunjin mumbled something… What an annoying little prick! You slapped his head, poking his arm with your foot to get him mad enough to get up by himself.
“I vote for letting him rot in here” You suggested when he didn’t move an inch, whimpering in protest, and getting a snort from Felix “Let’s go home, Felix! No one will miss this dumbass” You nagged, loud enough for Hyunjin to whine once more, trying to push you away before he finally decided to get up, holding on Felix for dear life as he crawled his way off of the floor.
“I think he believed you would leave him here” He chuckled, throwing Hyunjin’s arm over his shoulder to support him and help him to get to your car. The first vocal response you got from him for the night. Nice. You glanced at him; watching as his eyes morphed into crescents and his skin wrinkled around his eyes, giving him an innocent and childish vibe that got you giggling.
“That’s because he knows I would” You joked, involving your brother’s waist. You tried to ignore how close you were to Felix at the moment ─ literally one Hyunjin apart ─ and how your arm crossed your brother’s back to overlap with Felix’s, hands brushing on each other’s sides. Even though the moment wasn’t intimate, you felt your heart beating faster inside your chest, pursing your lips as you left the party behind to head to your car.
You didn’t remember when all of this started.
The first time you talked to Felix was on a Friday night, just like this one but way warmer. You had never seen him before but you had heard him thousands of times as Hyunjin and his friends used to hang around in your living room a whole lot. Even though he didn’t have a face in your mind, you had his shrill laughing imprinted in your head, and that night ─ when you had too much studying to do and acceptance stuff for college to handle ─, you decided to snap at the cheerful boy.
You burst into the living room filled with rage, smacking the wall to get their attention before actually landing your eyes on him; anger faltering for a bit. You never imagined that Felix could match so much to his laughter… His laugh was thin ─ like a string ─, and so was he, small and slender like you never saw a guy being before. His laugh was warm ─ like the sun ─, and you could swear his smile brightened up the whole place, stunning you. His laugh was cheerful ─ like a child ─, just like the glint in his eyes and his choked giggle made you feel like.
That was the first time you met him.
And that was the first time he shut you out.
It still stung a little bit.
The younger you had taken this to your heart; it was impossible not to as you couldn’t help but notice how he always glanced and giggle in your way when he thought you weren’t paying attention. Every single time you walked into the room, his twinkling eyes followed you ─ not as sneakily as he thought ─ and he kept fighting the urge to smile, looking away and pursing his lips, trying not to be too obvious. At that time, you were kinda self-conscious about your body, and you couldn’t help but think he was laughing at you.
What could be so funny to the point he couldn’t hide it?
Was it because you liked to walk around with your legs in full display? The absence of a thigh gap should be hilarious to him… It could be easy to laugh about it when you were slim as a bloody twig ─ one that was poking you, by the way ─ and didn’t have to worry. Was it because of the way you walked? Too bouncy with the delight of being accept to the Uni that you wanted. Was it because of the way you dress? Not as one would expect for a chubby body. Was it just the fact that you weren’t the slender small girl he must be used to date? As much you would like to challenge him with all those questions, you didn’t know if you were prepared for the answers.
    So you didn’t.
When you got into college, everything changed.
There was some kind of rebellious vibe going around when you were a young adult with too much freedom and a whole new world to explore by yourself. As much as you weren’t sure you were able to. You met new people, new life visions, new styles, new philosophies… Then everything you ever thought was a given, suddenly didn’t seem as much of a label. You weren’t the same self-conscious and shy girl by the end of the semester, and Felix wasn’t the same giggling boy as well.
You didn’t know what had changed in him, but something did.
The giggling boy got more and more melancholic as time passed by, and even though you could still feel his eyes following you around, the amusement and bliss that he formerly displayed were nowhere to be found. He always had been the tiny and delicate one, but now he seemed small too. You didn’t know what happened back then, and you didn’t care, to be honest. You were feeling good about yourself, and maybe there was something about it that made it no fun for him anymore…
The lack of interest made it easier for both of you.
Somewhere along the last years, you and Felix finally hit it off.
You thought it had something to do with the easiness that came along with the fact that neither of you was bound to previous judgment. You didn’t need Felix’s approval anymore because you didn’t have any feelings for him. He has matured enough to not need to keep silently mocking you and your silly infatuation. That was what you thought. The reality was that speaking to Felix, hanging out with Felix, meeting Felix, knowing Felix… If he ever was a jerk to you before, you couldn’t see any traces of it in his eyes, in his speech, or his gestures. He was just Felix. The friendly guy that befriended your younger brother. The younger guy that kept insisting on making his way to your mind and heart.
You didn’t know how it all began.
But you did know that somewhere along the way you fell for him.
And that was exactly the reason why your heart was drumming inside your head as you closed your car’s door, all alone with him in the front seat as Hyunjin was long gone at the back, sleeping sonorously. You cleared your throat, glancing at him before turning the music on in hopes that it would help to light up the mood ─ even though nothing had spoiled it yet ─, and offering a small smile as you turned on the car. Unsurprisingly to you, as soon as Felix acknowledge to be all by himself with you, he started to be more talkative, getting rid of his previous anxiety and relaxing into the seat, throwing you a bright smile.
You had yet to understand why he was like that.
“So, how is everything going?” He asked, clearly interested in what you had to say as he crossed his arms and looked at you attentively. You shrugged, trying to remember something worthy of mention but not grasping anything at all “Nothing going on at your work? No annoying Professors? No crush?” He sounded quite casual but you still caught a glimpse of his eyes darting between you and the road to the last question.
“The answer is the same as the last time you asked me those” You chuckled “There’s a lot going on at work but nothing interesting. There is always some annoying Professors, you can’t hide from them. Are you reporting my love life to my parents?” He laughed it off, shrugging as he turned his head to look at the passing scenarios.
“No, I just want to hear more about you” He explained, voice muffled by his hand that supported his face as he elbowed the window “Also, those questions cover pretty much everything that could be going on in your life: Work, money, grades, social life, and love” He added, trying to convey a wise aura as he looked at you “You just need to actually answer them so we can keep this conversation going” He chuckled, making you snort at his conclusion.
“Fair enough” You agreed “Let’s talk about you then” You suggested, and he whined when you didn’t give him any of the answers he was expecting “Why weren’t you at the party with Hyunjin?” You asked curiously, and he seemed to stiffen up to your question.
“Valentine’s party” He said as if it explained everything “A bunch of single people trying to hook up before Sunday because they don’t actually have a date… I got better things to do” He shrugged, and you nodded. It shouldn’t have made you so relieved, but it was good to know that Felix didn’t care about hooking-up at parties as much as your brother did.
“Like watching TV in your pajamas?” You teased, chuckling when he blushed under your gaze and pouted, crossing his arms over his chest and mumbling something under his breath “Nice pants, by the way… The one that gave it to you has a pretty good taste” You joked, and this time he laughed along with you, knowing fair too well that you were the one who gifted it to him.
“Yeah, it seems like they do” He agreed playfully “I must say that whoever gave you that blouse is a fashionista! You look amazing in it”
There was a moment of silence when neither of you laughed it off.
The blouse was Felix’s present to you, which was a witty remark that you would appreciate and giggle about if he didn’t finish his sentence at all. You look amazing in it. The warmth crept into your cheeks, and you wished it didn’t spread to your chest like it did, lighting up something you couldn’t quite point out. You tried to fight that thought, but it still lingered somewhere in the back of your mind.
    He thought you looked amazing.
You cleared your throat, making sure to push that idea aside before thanking him quietly for the compliment. It didn’t mean anything. He didn’t mean anything by it. He was just saying this because he was the one who gave you that gift. You could chant this how many times you wanted to inside your head but it still didn’t quite get there, leaving a bittersweet feeling inside your mouth.
    Did he mean it?
    It shouldn’t matter.
    It did.
“I didn’t mean anything by it” He blurted out, checking for your reaction twice in a tense motion.
“No- Yeah! I know” You feigned a laugh that sounded more like a snort than the classy one that you were aiming for “You’re just bragging about your taste in clothes” You nodded, pursing your lips in a weird grimace “I wasn’t thinking- I know you wouldn’t say something like this to me” You reassured him.
“Yeah!” He chortled “Why would I ever tell you something like this?” He asked in a goofy tone that wasn’t meant to hurt you but it did anyway “It’s not like it would make a difference anyway…” He mumbled, less playful and more seriously now.
“Wow” You blurted, blinking a few times, taken aback by his statement “That was a pretty jerky thing to say” You pointed out, slowly dropping the speed as you spotted a red light “I mean- That’s okay if you don’t find me attractive but you don’t need to make it sound like it’s something out of this world” You scoffed, poking your cheek with your tongue, annoyed by the sudden turn of events.
“What?” He frowned, genuinely confused by your input “Who said I don’t find you attractive?” His tone was somewhere between a challenge and a question, making you furrow your brows as you stared blankly at him.
“You” He seemed flabbergasted by your answer, so you scoffed once more before continuing “Why would you ever tell me I look amazing if it doesn’t make any difference?” You asked as if to remind him of what he had just said, glaring at the green light before speeding up again. “It doesn’t sound like you find me attractive at all” You pointed out, and he snorted, shaking his head in disbelief.
“Really?” He was dumbfounded “You didn’t figure it out?” His mouth was agape, eyes wide as saucers as if he was seeing the world under a brand new light “I mean- Really?!” He couldn’t even keep himself on a train of thoughts, laughing at himself “I don’t even know what to say… I was being… No, really?” He narrowed his eyes at you in the end, suspicious of you for a second.
“I don’t know what you’re talking about” You nagged, a scowl plastered on your face as you focused on the road.
“Y/N…” He said softly, eyes twinkling under the street lights, “I mean…” He hesitated “What I meant is that I know that you only see me as a young brother and I didn’t mean to make you uncomfortable” He explained calmly, and you couldn’t help but be surprised by it. When the hell did you treat him like a young brother? Was he blind or something? “I do find you attractive; I meant what I said… I just—“ He gulped down.
“Really?” You asked skeptically “Because I remember clearly how you used to laugh at me back then, and now you suddenly—“ You scoffed, shaking your head in disbelief as you stopped at another red light “Uncomfortable…” You stressed the word as if you find it amusing “Do you know what makes me uncomfortable, Felix?!” You spat angrily, glaring at him.
“Y/N, I have never laughed at your –“ He tried to defend himself, a stern expression on his face.
“Don’t lie to me!” You spat, enraged as you got the green light back “I noticed your looks, Felix! I always did!” You fought back your urge to cry, hitting the steering wheel to release part of your pinned up frustrations “And the giggles!” You added, bitter for having to emphasize it “And I know you’re better now! I know you’ve grown up! I know you’re not the same silly teenager that you used to be! I know!” You blurted thought after thought, too avid to let it all out.
There was no way to stop it now.
“But you’re still avoiding me!” Your voice faltered in the end, choked with all of your emotions “Every single time we’re in public you treat me like I have the plague! Did you think I wouldn’t notice it?! Don’t you think it makes me uncomfortable?” You scoffed, glancing at him melancholically.
“I… I didn’t mean to make you uncomfortable” He said sincerely, staring intensely at you “I didn’t think you minded it at all” He admitted “I just thought… I’m ashamed to be seen with you” He confessed, interlocking his fingers and lowering his head as he averted his gaze from you, fixing himself on his sit to face straight ahead.
    Ouch!
If he smacked your face, it would be less painful.
“Wow” You laughed in shock, dumbfounded by his statement “Okay… I- Wow… I just…” You blinked a few times, poking your cheek with your tongue before shrugging “I really thought you had gotten better, you know? But that’s fine. It’s better this way… I don’t need you in my life if you’re so ashamed of me and—“ You tried your best to stay focused and mature but it wasn’t the easiest task you had had in your hands.
“Wait! Ashamed of you?!” Felix snapped his eyes up, brows arched in utter surprise “Why would I ever be ashamed of you?!” He asked, widening his eyes before blinking, as if to see if he got things right, “You’re literally perfect! Why would I ever be ashamed of you?! You’re the one who should be ashamed of me!” He frowned in confusion, and you mimicked his expression.
“What?” You had to be missing something “What are you talking about?” You asked, bewildered.
“Y/N…” He chuckled, eyes wavering in a soft look that threw you off for a bit “You’re smart… And you’re hard-working too! You got into your dream college and you work and study and… I don’t even know! You’re older, and wiser, and better” He counted on his fingers “You’re gorgeous” He blushed, clearing his throat uncomfortably “I mean… You’re really attractive! Like… I mean-“ He stumbled over his words, making your heart burst inside your heart “You’re everything someone could ever want!” He offered you a small smile.
    Another red light.
“And I’m just your brother’s best friend” He laughed bitterly “I’m younger, dumber, and I don’t even know how I managed to get into college with Hyunjin… I don’t have a job, and I’m just… I mean- You’re way out of my league, Y/N” He lowered his gaze, playing with his sleeve mindlessly “When we stand side by side… It’s like you’re the whole sun, all shiny and promising, and I’m… I don’t even know what I am” He snorted “How could I even dare to stand by your side?” He questioned, brokenhearted.
“Felix…” You muttered, dismayed by what he had just said.
    Greenlight.
“I didn’t look at you and giggled because I was making fun of you, Y/N… It was because I found you cute. When you wandered around the house like that… You’re adorable. You’re just too adorable, and I couldn’t help but watch you and…” He smiled to himself, eyes softening as if he was just remembering something “I felt happy… Every time you were around, I just felt so happy… But I was too shy to say anything” He sighed.
    So all of those looks…
    All of those smiles…
“Then you got into college and I realized that… We were so far apart… You were so unreachable…” He smiled sadly, shrugging “I could only watch you from afar, and I would never be one of those friends you brought home… I would never be your classmate… I would never be anything more than your brother’s best friend…” He glanced at you, ashamed of what he was sharing “And that kinda made me see that being shy and silent around you had no point at all, you know? I never had a chance, to begin with”
    So the melancholy…?
“I had no idea” You admitted, taking a turn to the left and facing another red light.
You never had come across so many of those in your whole life.
The heavy silence that fell upon you was eased by the music playing in the radio ─ a little too upbeat for the situation but it would have to do ─, and you couldn’t bring yourself to say anything to break that ice. You stared at him in deep thought, wondering how he could have gotten every single thing you ever did ─ and how you did just the same as him ─ so wrong and out of context. You blinked twice, eyes wandering around his face before focusing on the red light.
You thought about how he didn’t tell you that he loved you, even if it sounded as he did. Was it something in the past? Or did he feel it now just like you did? Was his heart beating like yours? Was he hopeful like you that it would be some kind of confession in the air? Was it okay to just confess everything you had hidden inside of your chest?
The red light looked too alluring as you avoided acting upon it.
    Then it struck you.
How ironic it was that right when you wanted to confess your feelings (or hear a confession), there was a huge red sign like this right in front of your face? But also… How many times had you given the hugest of all green lights to Felix? How many times he did the same to you? How many times you tried to read the room and failed it? How many green signs were dyed red because of your insecurities and fears?
    You know what?
    Fuck it.
You didn’t need to think twice to lean in and kiss him.
You caught a glimpse of Felix’s startled face when you got closer to him, hand going to his neck to pull him in for a kiss. He didn’t complain, though. As soon as your lips met his, he was eager to return the kiss, hands going to cup your face and bring you closer to him. The kiss wasn’t really beautiful… It was kinda messy, unsynchronized and there was too much teeth in the formula. Yet, it had every single ounce of love that both of you nurtured for so long and were so afraid to show to each other.
You could keep kissing him forever if he wanted to.
    And he did.
    But the light turned green.
You broke away from the kiss as the horns started their enraged chorus behind you, chuckling as Felix gawked. You laughed, fixing yourself on your seat and starting the car again, finally getting out of their way. Felix blinked a few times, still too flabbergasted to say anything as he straightened up on his seat and looked ahead, ears set aflame.
“You more than enough for me” You said, glancing at him “And I love you” You added, watching as he lowered his face, a huge smile plastering on his face as he whimpered excitedly.
“I love you too” He muttered, sinking on the seat as you chuckled.

Please Don’t Leave Me
Tumblr media
Title: Please Don’t Leave Me
Summary: Talking about our past is not easy. What happens when it’s finally time to share what you’ve been through with Henry?
Pairing: Henry x First Person Reader
Word Count: 1635
Warnings: Angst; mention of being yelled at, personal hurt, self-harm, attempted suicide, emotional neglect, parental abuse, beginning stages of a panic attack, anxiety, depression, loneliness, and fear of abandonment. (If there’s anything I missed, just let me know and I’ll add it).
A/N: HAPPY BIRTHDAY FREYA! I know it’s next week, but I’ll be off Tumblr because it falls on Thanksgiving this year. You asked me for this fic and I wanted to do right by you, as you’ve done so much for me. I love you, bish!
Tumblr media
It had been a rough day. And not just your typical rough, I’m talking the kind of rough where you spill your coffee all over your blouse in the car, end up being late for work, forget your lunch, and get yelled at by the boss kind of rough. The kind of rough where every traumatizing past event in your life comes bubbling to the surface. The kind of rough where you want nothing more than to crawl back into your bed and sleep for seven years, and it’s only nine-thirty in the morning.
The one saving grace I held on to as I counted down the minutes of my shift was that Henry would be home tonight, waiting for me. God, I don’t know how I got so lucky, but somehow that kind and gentle soul had seen through the cracked and broken wall that I kept as my only defense mechanism, and had chosen me anyway. He knew some of my past and pain, but I hadn’t opened up about everything; I wasn’t ready to lose him, and I knew he’d be out the door once he heard it all. Just like everyone else. Perhaps that was selfish of me, but for once in my life, I knew what it felt like to be loved, and I was soaking in every ounce I could of that sweet nectar before it was gone.
Finally, finally, my work day was over. I headed to his place as fast as I safely could, anxious and burdened with unwelcome memories. The delicious smell of roast flooded my nostrils as I opened the door and Kal came bounding over. I noticed as I toed off my pumps and tamed the wild beast that Henry had built a fire, and gratitude filled my heart. He always seemed to know exactly what I needed, sometimes even before I did. I headed toward the kitchen, following my nose.
“Hey love,” Henry smiled wide, already pouring me a glass of red. He swallowed me in a warm embrace, his chin planted on the top of my head, and my body tucked firmly in his arms. I melted, sinking into the security of his hug and letting the stress of the previous hours wash away. I was here, he was home, and I was safe.
We ate quietly, talking here and there about random facts or tidbits. I pushed the food around on my plate, taking a bite here and there to satisfy Henry but I could sense him watching me carefully; his concern was evident, but he covered it well, masking it with simple questions or well-timed caresses. Even so, his next question caught me off guard, my fork halfway to my mouth.
“Will you tell me about it?”
The silverware clattered to the plate, forgotten in my fear. This is it, I thought, tonight’s the night I lose him forever. My chest constricted and I could feel the panic slowly rising, tears welling and threatening to spill. Henry quickly grabbed my hand and shushed me, cupping my face in nurturing kindness.
“You don’t have to,” he comforted, and I closed my eyes, exhaling the breath I hadn’t realized I was holding. Henry soothed his thumb over my cheek before pulling me onto his lap, cradling my head in his large hands. I burrowed deep into his chest, letting his scent wash over me in calming waves.
“I just want to help,” I heard Henry whisper. I sighed; he was right, it was time for him to know. I looked up at him, staring at that beautiful face that held so much promise. A face that said so much in just a look, with eyes that sparkled like the heavens whenever they landed on me. Once again, I wondered why his eyes looked like that when it was me they were viewing, but I shoved it aside. Self-deprecation would not help, not right now. Nodding softly, I tried to speak, but the words wouldn’t come out. I couldn’t tell him, not out loud. I dropped my head in defeat.
Henry shifted me off his lap, grabbing my hand and walking us to his desk. He sat in his gaming chair and patted his thigh, tugging on my arm. I hesitated, confused.
“Come here, love,” he encouraged, guiding me to sit. With both of us facing the computer, he opened a word document and offered me the keyboard.
“If you’re unable to say it out loud,” Henry crooned in my ear, kissing softly under my lobe, “Then write it. I’ll read it as you type, and neither of us has to say anything.”
This man. I swear to god. Relief flooded through me, though anxiety pounced instantly as I was reminded that once we were done, he would be gone. No one else had stayed, my problems were much too great... Why should he be the one to bear the burden of me? I took a deep breath anyway and eyed the screen, my fingertips trembling over the instrument of my demise.
Where should I even begin? Should I go all the way back to the beginning, to my birth? How I was nothing but a mistake, and every day I was reminded as such? Or maybe I should tell him what the scars are from? Perhaps I should simply tell him about failed relationship after failed relationship, both romantic and non. Those are all fun tales, I had no doubt he’d love to hear all about them. Maybe he wanted to know the amount of times I’ve come close to admitting defeat and ending everything. Spoiler alert… that number’s higher than it should be.
I swallowed thickly and began typing, slow and hesitant words forming on the page. Every thought was carefully constructed, worked over in my mind at least five times before I allowed it to leave my fingers. Henry’s comforting arms were wrapped tightly around my waist, his chin nestled on my shoulder as he read what I shared. Tears slowly brimmed in my eyes, kept at bay only by sheer force of will. Each stroke of a key sounded like a hammer hitting the nails in our relationship’s inevitable coffin; surely he wouldn’t, couldn’t love me after this. No one could. It’s simply too much for anyone to bear, too awful… too hard.
And yet in my ear were the sounds of something different. Encouraging grunts, empathetic hums. Henry kept his promise, he never said a word except for one small sigh of “oh, love” as I hit a particularly difficult moment. His hands rubbed my sides, kisses left tiny wet imprints on my cheek, and every now and then he would squeeze tighter, small reassurances to keep going.
The words started pouring out of me. I couldn’t have stopped myself if I tried; Every struggle, every loss, every tiring moment; every single thing that had ever happened to me found its way into that document in a flurry of clacking plastic. My hands moved of their own free will and the tears started to flow; long, silent trails of pain releasing years worth of pent up anger and hurt. The salty drops fell onto Henry’s forearms but he just left them there, rooted to his task of protecting me. I would miss how safe I felt in the protection of his arms.
The final sentence fell out of my hands, and I immediately turned and buried my face into Henry’s shoulder, bitter sobs wracking my frame as I clung to his neck.
“Please don’t leave me,” I begged, ashamed of myself for being so needy and undesirable. I expected him to untangle himself from my arms, to get up and open the door to excuse me from his home. To force me to leave his life and never return.
The last thing I expected was for him to burst out laughing.
I snapped my head up and stared at him in horror, which only made him laugh harder.
“I’m so sorry,” he wheezed, “I really shouldn’t be laughing. It’s just… I know why you think I would leave you, it’s all right there on the computer, but you have nothing to worry about.”
Henry wiped his eyes and mine and cupped my face, still chuckling.
“You think so little of yourself that you can’t see just how worthy you are,” he murmured, adoration and mirth mingling in his eyes as he tucked my hair behind my ear. I furrowed my brow and pressed my face into his palm, relishing the cooling sensation of calm that his skin brought.
“I know what it’s like to feel how you do,” Henry went on softly, “To feel unwanted and undeserving. But I’m not going to walk away from a flower as strong, as rare, and as beautiful as you just because she’s got a few bruises. I love you just the way you are.”
His admonition shocked the both of us. He loves me? I tried to process what he’d just said, but my mind was raw and I couldn’t think straight. He loves me.
“Yes, I love you,” Henry repeated as though he could read my thoughts, clasping my jaw and looking me straight in the eye. “I love you, and I’m not going anywhere… I’m not going to leave you.”
I smiled widely as tears spilt over once more, happiness bursting from my heart. With anyone else I’d be doubtful, I’d have hightailed it on my own after a proclamation like that before the other shoe dropped... before they could hurt me worse. But this wasn’t anyone else, this was Henry. And being with him made me brave, which is why I found words leaving my lips that I never thought I’d ever say again.
“I love you, too.”

You Thought Wrong.
hellooooo take this thing that i wrote almost 3 weeks ago and meant to post 2 weeks ago but didn't have a title for it!
Ship: Prinxiety (Virgil/Roman)
AO3 rating: T
Word Count: 1,438
Warnings: canon-typical Remus, special mention for brief Remus goriness (including mentions of acid burns, bones, and muscles), misunderstandings, swearing
Summary: Virgil fucked up, big time. Now he just has to try and fix it.
***
Virgil slowly brought his fist up to the door he was standing in front of, feeling the mist falling from the sky slowly soaking his hair and hoodie as he tried to muster the ability to knock.
How could you ever think that, Roman?
He swallowed hard as his own words echoed in his head, a harsh reminder of how cruel he could be when in unexpected, anxiety-inducing situations.
I just thought... the way you looked at me, I truly believed there was something-
You thought wrong.
Virgil grit his teeth against the memories that were going round and round in his head of what had happened between him and Roman only hours before. He just had to knock, wait for Roman to open the door, then he could explain. It was stupid, would come off as a sad excuse more than the true explanation that it was, but he had to clear the air. Had to do something.
The precipitation from the sky started falling harder, phasing from a light mist to something not quite heavy enough for an umbrella or raincoat but unpleasant enough that Virgil felt uncomfortably damp. He blew out a breath, pulling his hands back to his hoodie pockets and tilting his head towards the sky.
It didn’t really matter if he got wet right now. It was cliche, sure, that it was raining when he was trying to confess and apologize to his best-friend-of-who-even-knew-how-many-years-slash-crush-slash-roommate, but even Virgil could appreciate a good cliche sometimes.
Virgil was startled out of his thoughts by a car driving by, the engine loud and wheels splashing through a shallow puddle on the road that passed by the picturesque house. He glared at the receding white vehicle for interrupting his moping, then shook himself, turning back to the door of the house.
It was just a door. Then eight words: “I fucked up and I actually love you.” Not so bad. Easy, in fact. This would be fine.
Before he could finish second-guessing himself, he forced his hand to rap against the door a few times. Almost before he was done knocking, he heard the handle turn and the door click open.
“About time! I was starting to wonder if you were melting in the rain, Wicked Witch of the West. You know, I’ve always wondered how that would work, if it would all melt at the same time or if it’s like acid burns, little holes burning through your skin to the muscle then bones…”
Virgil jumped at the loud voice and gory words. When he looked up, Roman’s twin brother was lounging in the doorway. Virgil grimaced at the crop top, booty shorts, and fishnet tights with larger holes ripped into them that Remus was sporting.
“...No, I’m not melting,” he said. “I actually- um, I came to talk to Roman?”
Remus’s face turned more serious than Virgil had ever seen it. “I hope you know you hurt him. I’m letting you talk to him because I think you could be really good for each other. But if you hurt him again, nobody will be able to find enough of your body to identify it.”
Virgil closed his eyes with a small sigh. “I know. And I’m not expecting him to even want to take me back. But- I have to apologize, and I have to tell him the truth. Because I fucked up. I know I did.”
Remus gave him an evaluating look that even the mustache adorning his upper lip couldn’t soften. “Okay.” He whipped around so he was facing the inside of the house, giving Virgil an unasked-for front-row view of the many tattoos on his back that ranged from the nape of his neck to below the waistline on his shorts. “Roooo-maaaan!!”
Virgil winced at the loud, extended shout, barely resisting the urge to cover his ears. He relaxed as Remus cut off, only to tense up again as he heard shuffling footsteps coming from inside the house.
“What’s going- oh.” Roman cut himself off as he made eye contact with Virgil, pulling the red comforter around his shoulders tighter. “What are you doing here?” His voice was stony and unwelcoming.
“He wanted to talk to you. Don’t kill each other and if you do anything illegal don’t get caught ‘cause I’m broke and can’t pay bail.” Remus waved his fingers in Virgil’s direction, then sauntered away back into the house.
“...I don’t really want to invite you in right now, but I also don’t want to keep the door open and really don’t want to go outside. So come in.” Roman shuffled back a few steps, the comforter pooling around his feet.
“This shouldn’t take long,” Virgil said, swallowing past a lump in his throat. He stepped inside anyway, pulling the door shut behind him. He shivered as he realized just how cold it actually was outside.
The two of them stood in silence, Virgil shifting from foot to foot on the creaky floorboards the only sound in the room.
“What did you want to talk about,” Roman said, more of a statement than a question. “You seemed pretty clear on what you thought about me earlier.”
Virgil closed his eyes and blew out a breath, trying to steel himself. “I know. I know I sounded horrible, I was a dick. I fucked up, probably permanently.” He swallowed again, fixing his gaze on the floorboards beneath his feet. “Because the truth is, I- I love you. And I know that that’s- not at all what I was saying earlier,” he plowed on before he could give Roman a chance to respond, “but I’ve never felt this way about anyone before… and it scares the hell out of me.” He fell silent.
Roman didn’t say anything for what felt like hours, the sound of rain outside the only one that could be heard. Eventually, Virgil heard fabric shifting and looked up to see Roman lowering himself to the ground, readjusting the comforter around his body.
“If you really feel like that, why did you say those things?” Roman asked, his voice so quiet Virgil had to strain to hear the question.
“I panicked,” Virgil replied, forcing the words out of his throat as he looked straight at Roman. “I didn’t know what to say, and my instinctive response to situations where I don’t know what to do is lash out and isolate myself. So that’s what I did, because I didn’t know how to react or what to say or- or anything.” He let a breath out of his lungs, still watching Roman closely. “I had a plan, for how to tell you. But then the plan wouldn’t work, because you were saying things, and I was surprised, and so… yeah. And again, I know that’s really shitty of me,” he added frantically, “and I know I need to work on it.”
Roman’s face softened. “Virgil…” He made eye contact with Virgil for just a second before glancing down at his lap. “I get that brains can be fucky. I know that there’s only so much we can do to keep them under control.” He took a deep breath. “But if we’re going to make this work - and I’m not saying yes yet, but if we’re going to make it work - you need to try as hard as you can not to do that again. And I need to work on not running away so quickly, I know,” he added before Virgil could say anything. “But I can’t- I can’t go through that happening all of the time. Especially from someone that I care about.”
Virgil nodded quickly. “I know,” he said. “I- I understand. I… I wouldn’t be able to either.”
Virgil heard Roman swallow, and glanced up to see him extending a hand from under the comforter.
“Sit with me?” Roman asked, voice quiet. Virgil scrambled to do so, gently grasping Roman’s hand once he got to the ground.
“I want to make this work,” Roman whispered into the air, nestling closer into Virgil and tucking his head into his neck. “I really, really want to. I… I love you too.”
Virgil turned his head and pressed his lips to the top of Roman’s head. “I can’t promise it’ll be perfect, that I won’t mess up. But I can promise that I’ll try my hardest not to.”
Roman tilted his head up and captured Virgil’s lips with his own, and even though Virgil was still damp from rain and the floor was hard and the angle of his neck was so extreme it was almost painful, it still seemed perfect.

Chapter 15
Bucky POV
I walked away from the group, glancing over my shoulder once, swallowing back the bile rising up. I wandered down a few streets, smiling at the kids passing as I looked for Vision. Turning down the fourth street, I scanned the crowds of kids and adults looking for my friend; I sighed when I still didn’t see him and started to walk again. I noticed fewer people were out the farther I walked, but the sun was going down, so I figured people were probably heading home. Halfway down the street, I saw a bright yellow cape fluttering in the breeze, and I instantly knew it was Vision. I took off jogging to catch up with him, weaving around kids and their parents.
“Vis!” I yelled as I got closer. Vision turned around, glancing around until his eyes found me; despite the growing darkness, I saw panic flashed across his face in the glow of the streetlight.
“Bucky,” Vision greeted, his tone sounding guarded.
“I, uh, came to help you,” I mumbled, falling in step with him. Vision nodded but stayed silent as we turned down the street that led to Ellis Ave. The walk was quiet, but not just because of the lack of conversation between us; there wasn’t the faint chatter of people talking even though we could see them standing around. “Vision?”
“What is going on?” Vision looked around, not bothering to hide the fear written all over his face.
“I was about to ask you the same thing,” I breathed. I followed Vision towards a woman standing in the grass nearby and watched him try to get her attention, but she seemed frozen in place. A haunted look swirled in Vision’s eyes when he looked towards me again; anxiety rolled in my stomach along with a sudden surge of anger. “Vision, what the fuck is going on!”
“I don’t know,” Vision croaked, meeting my eyes. I took a step back when I saw the gut-wrenching terror that seemed to leak out of every pore of his body. “You’ve noticed it?” Vision closed the space between us, stopping only a few inches from me, his blazing eyes piercing into me, and I couldn’t look away no matter how hard I tried.
“Something’s wrong, Vis. I don’t know what, but I have this uneasy feeling that never goes away.” I let out the breath I didn’t realize I was holding in when Vision seemed to relax slightly, his head dropping forward. My eyes widened when Vision’s Halloween costume melted into something that looked eerily similar but more lifelike.
“I suspected Clint noticed too,” Vision sighed. “James, I’m going to lift whatever control you’re under. Is that okay?” Vision lifted his arms, his fingers ghosting over my temples, but his eyes softened as he waited for me to answer.
“Do it,” I grunted, squeezing my eyes shut. Vision’s fingers rested on my temples for a moment, but I didn’t notice after a few seconds. Images of my life flashed across my eyelids, the memories becoming more horrifying as the seconds passed. I saw Steve and me marching an army of POWs back to camp during the war. I felt the weightlessness of falling from the train again; the pain of the impact shot through my spine. I screamed, grabbing my head, and falling to my knees when the electrical currents coursed through my skull. I faintly heard Vision calling for me, but my mouth refused to open. A slideshow of faces flashed across my eyes but never long enough to recognize anyone. I remembered fighting Steve, pulling him from the water, and hiding in Romania until the UN bombing. Everything Zemo did. The Starks along with the look on Tony’s face when he found out. The memories started to move faster, becoming only flashes of me fighting the Avengers alongside Steve, the cryotube in Wakanda, then seeing Steve again. Thanos, the Snap, and the moment I turned to dust played out across my eyelids. The last memory was watching Steve disappear on the travel pad before I sent Sam off to talk to the clearly aged Steve sitting by the lake.
“James!” Vision begged. I slowly opened my eyes, finding them blurry with tears and my dark hair hanging in my face; I dropped my hands from my head, letting them fall onto my legs. The streetlight caught the metal of my left hand, the gold sparkling back at me. I closed my eyes again as sobs shook my shoulders and wiped at the wetness on my cheeks.
“None of it’s real,” I rasped, lifting my head to look at Vision.
“I-I’m so sorry,” Vision whispered, setting a hand on my shoulder. I slumped forward, trying to collect myself and swallow down the pain tearing at my heart; I let Vision’s touch ground me. When his hand fell away, I tensed, unable to meet his eyes, and my heart sank again.
“Vision, you’re dead,” I whispered, flinching. I looked up, blinking at the empty space in front of me; I glanced around, finding Vision floating a couple of hundred feet above me, scanning the horizon.
“James!” Vision looked down at me, pointing somewhere behind me; I glanced over my shoulder, my gaze falling on the car stopped at the intersection. Vision took off, soaring through the air towards the car; I took a deep breath and pushed myself to my feet again. I stumbled, blinking a few times at my arm; I threw my head back, shouting at the dark sky when I realized my equilibrium was thrown off. Again! Really! I rolled my eyes, stumbling along, willing my body to steady again, but the weight on my left side kept pulling me off balance. I finally made it to the side of the car, where I heard Agnes cackling at a mortified Vision, but it abruptly stopped.
“I will fix this, Agnes. I promise,” Vision whispered, taking a step away from the car.
“Okey-dokey neighbor. Happy Halloweenie!” Agnes made a U-turn on Ellis Ave and started back towards the center of town. We watched her taillights disappear, but neither of us made a move; staring down the now-empty street, I rolled my left shoulder, grunting at the sudden strain on my shoulder. The movements of my left arm were jerky as the plates ground together, and the gears squealed; I huffed, spinning my arm in a windmill motion to recalibrate it. A sigh of relief fell from my lips when my fingers curled into a fist smoothly.
“James…” Vision muttered, his eyes looking anywhere but at me.
“What’s up, Vis?” Vision wandered closer, but his head was on a swivel, looking for any sign of movement.
“Is everyone else…all of our friends…are they d-dead too?” I tried not to flinch, but I couldn’t help it as memories flashed through my head.
“Clint, Thor, and (Y/N) are alive,” I whispered. “How did Wanda do this?”
“I don’t know,” Vision mumbled, his shoulder tensing. “What is an Avenger?”
“The Avengers. That’s us,” I replied, squinting at him.
“But what are they?” Vision just blinked at me, waiting for an answer.
“You don’t remember anything from before Westview, do you?” He seemed to think for a moment before shaking his head. “The Avengers are a team of superheroes. Steve and I are super-soldiers, Loki is the God of Mischief, but he and (Y/N) are sorcerers like Wanda, Thor is the God of Thunder, Clint is a master marksman, and Natasha is an assassin.”
“And I was part of this team” -he made air quotes around ‘team’- “before Westview.”
“Yeah, until everything went to shit,” I sighed, running a hand through my hair, wincing when my fingers caught a knot.
           “But I’m dead,” Vision whispered.
“…yes,” I confessed, dropping my head. “I can fill you in on everything.”
“Yes, but later. First, I need to see what’s outside Westview.” Vision straightened his shoulder and turned away from me, walking towards the open field.
“Vis, wait!” I yelled, clumsily jogging after him. “Are you sure this is a good idea?”
“These people need help, James. They’re suffering,” Vision called over his shoulder, keeping his pace. I rolled my eyes and ran faster, moving past him to get in his way; I walked backward in front of him, trying to reason with him. I amazingly managed to keep myself stable despite the extra weight on my left side.
“Vis, hold on,” I urged. I opened my mouth to talk again, but I stopped short when I heard the hum from behind me. When I looked behind me, I could see the faint static of a barrier; I glanced up, my eyes following the barrier towards the sky, and I instantly thought of Wakanda. “What the hell is this?”
“It seems to cover the perimeter of the town.” Vision eyed the barrier one more time before reaching out; the whining of the static intensified as Vision pushed through.
“No!” I yelled for him, but it was too late; Vision disappeared into the flickering barrier. “Damnit!” I growled, rolling my eyes. I took a deep breath, lifting my left hand towards the barrier but hesitated. “Please don’t kill me,” I whispered. I shoved my hand into the wall and froze; I could feel the vibration travel up my arm to my shoulder, but that was it. I tentatively pushed in past my wrist, gritting my teeth when the barrier seemed to push back. I made it to my elbow, and suddenly unrelenting currents of electricity coursed through my body. I screamed, loud and panicked, tasting blood almost instantly at the power of the sound. I frantically pulled at my arm, my vision swimming as I tumbled towards unconsciousness when unexpectedly the barrier spit me. I landed with a thud; my left arm spasmed, the barrier causing it to malfunction, was the last thing I remembered before everything went dark.

Merry Christmas !
•••
The Van der Linde gang was notorious for its outlandish and extravagant Christmas parties. No expense was spared. The finest food, champagne, music, everything about the party was big. The gang’s largest speakeasy — a grand basement decorated with imported luxuries was the center of it all. The speakeasy was hidden underneath a bookstore, the gang owned the entire block of buildings, entrances could be made through any of the buildings. Bouncers stood watch at every hidden doorway, waiting for the passerby to mutter the password to get into the party.
Anybody who was anyone was at the party. Which meant Arthur was required to go. He hated those things. They were obnoxious. He hated making small talk with stupidly drunk corrupted politicians, bigwigs in companies who exploited their workers, rancid people he had no interest being near. But following Dutch and Hosea meant all the politics. They had a reputation to uphold, the entire party was one big business transaction. A show of sorts.
Arthur tightened the tie around his neck and placed his hat on his head, feeling the dread of the party creep on him.
“Come on, John!” Arthur yelled as he walked towards the front door, his voice booming through the spacious apartment. He tapped his foot impatiently, looking at the watch on his wrist.
Arthur sighed. “John!” He shouted again. No response. Where was the little bastard? He already had a headache..
He found himself at John’s bedroom door, he knocked on it loudly.
“Open the damn door, John.”
No response again. Arthur managed to get the door open, only to find it was empty. A cold chill filled the room. The window was wide open, the bedroom vulnerable to the frigid night.
Arthur cursed and rushed to the window. Footprints were on the fire escape, they were fresh too. The raging blizzard hadn’t covered them up entirely. John must have just left.
Arthur made it to the street shortly after that, following John’s footprints down the street into a back alley. They were going to be late. All because John decided to play runaway for the night.
He examined the footprints, they led up to a large electrical box, big enough to climb onto. The snow had been disturbed at the top of the box. John must have climbed on it. What the hell was John doing? From there, he could have jumped onto the fire escape and made it up to the top of the building.
Goddamnit.
Arthur would have to explain everything to Dutch and Hosea. Though he was worried about the younger boy, Arthur wasn’t foolish enough to search for him in a blizzard. John was smart enough to handle his own, he had been on the streets a majority of his life, one night was no trouble.
•••
The bouncers let Arthur into the club, he didn’t even need the password. The party was booming downstairs, as he walked down the steps he could feel anxiety bubbling in him. Small talk, stupid dances, schmoozing with rich folk was far from his style. Dutch and Hosea wanted him there.. so he had to be.
He fidgeted with his cufflinks nervously as he examined the crowd. Not many people he recognized, some people he recognized from TV, other people he had become acquainted with through business deals, some people just had the face of looking familiar. The crowd wore their finest clothes, pearls and lace, white gloves and fancy dress shoes all hidden behind snake eyes. It was all very nauseating to him. The chandelier and ice sculptures reflected the fakeness of the crowd.
He would have to grab Dutch and Hosea when they weren’t entertaining a large group of guests. The two men dazzled in the room, if it wasn’t for all the expensive decor they would be the brightest thing in the room.
Arthur was stuck sitting in an uncomfortable party while John got to do god knows what out in the middle of a blizzard, it was almost unfair. He grabbed a champagne flute from a server and leaned up against the wall.
“It’s almost romantic, isn’t it?”
Mary-Beth found him first. A young writer sponsored by Dutch because he was fascinated with her work.
Arthur looked at her curiously. She looked out into the crowd of people.
“You know, the waltzing, the music, the fancy dresses. It’s all so Victorian,” She said dreamily.
“These things get boring after awhile,” Arthur replied, boredom apparent in his face.
“It’s my first time coming to a party like this. It’s all so elegant.”
“I wouldn’t call it elegant.”
“Well, what would you call it?” Mary-Beth asked him, looking at him with curious eyes.
“Loud. Fake. Annoying,” Arthur grumbled.
Mary Beth scoffed humorously, “Aren’t you a Scrooge.”
“Only during these parties.”
“Well, Mr. Duffy has been eyeing me all night, I’ll leave you alone to whatever,” She gestured to Arthur’s wallflower appearance, “This is.”
“Hope you enjoy the rest of the party, Miss Gaskill,” He called out to her.
“As to you, Mr. Morgan,” She smiled sweetly as she waltzed over the room to Kieran.
The dancing picked up, Arthur watched as Mary Beth led Mr. Duffy to the dance floor, he looked nervous and giddy. The music was fast and fun, most people began gravitating to the floor.
Sean MacGuire, head of the smuggling business of Irish cream and whiskey danced drunkenly with Miss Karen Jones, heir to a banking fortune. She blushed each time Sean’s hand slipped further down her waist. Lenny Summers who owned a prominent publishing firm chatted with the drunken fools as well.
He wasn’t much for dancing, no one would ask him anyways.
It was only a matter of time before Dutch and Hosea found him. They came knocking midway through the night, when all the introductories were finished. Arthur had drank two glasses of champagne, it was rare he got to entertain himself with such a fine bottle. He didn’t even really like champagne but it was Christmas, he deserved to let loose through the only viable option.
“Arthur, my boy!” Dutch called out to Arthur, arms outstretched for a hug. Arthur hugged him,
“Where’s John?” Hosea asked, glancing around the room to spot the teenager.
Arthur drew a breath in as he began, “About that.”
Dutch and Hosea’s happiness fell from their face, that line was never good, especially coming from Arthur.
“He escaped the apartment right before we were going to leave. Followed his tracks, went to the rooftops, I wasn’t going to break my damn neck looking for him during a snowstorm so I came here instead.”
“Why didn’t you tell us sooner?” Hosea asked.
Arthur shrugged, “Didn’t want to bother you. Figured he could handle himself for awhile.”
“You sure he wasn’t kidnapped?” Hosea said quietly, leaning in close to him.
Arthur nodded, “Only one set of footprints, I followed them all the way to the roof until I couldn’t anymore.”
It was silent for a moment as Dutch decided what to do.
“We can’t send any men out tonight, they’re drunk out of their minds and we can’t pay anyone to look for him. Streets are bare. I don’t think even the cops would look for him on a night like this,” Dutch replied, his brow furrowed as he worried about John.
“What should we do then, Dutch?” Hosea asked.
“Let’s get our coats. We have to look for him before it gets too late.”
•••
The whole car ride was near silent, the street was eerily but expectedly deserted. The streets felt almost ghostlike. It was late enough into the night that most people had retired from a night of partying, it was early to a gangsters standards but civilians were schedule abiding people.
They checked Arthur’s apartment first. He had slipped a paper in the door to see if John had come by. He hadn’t.
Then they checked the alley in which he had made his grand escape. Not there either. His prints were mostly covered. Arthur cursed John for being so foolish, he would no doubt get a scolding and Hosea’s unbearable look of disappointment. It’s what the little brat deserved, running off like that on Christmas.
They decided to check the waterfront. Dutch drove the car wordlessly as Hosea and Arthur both checked their sides of the street to see if there was any sign of him.
Nothing. Streets were bare. It was hard to see with all the snow too.
They decided to drive by Sisika Center, the tree loomed tall with its bright lights in front of Saint Denis’ largest building complex. It had been packed leading up to Christmas, but now not a soul was out. Couples and families gathered by the tree, but Arthur was never much fond of looking at a lit up dead tree.
There was no one there as expected, Arthur sighed at the sight. Where the hell was the stupid boy?
Suddenly someone jumped in front of the car, Dutch swerved the car quickly, swearing loudly as the harsh snow littered the windows.
Dutch lost control of the car for a few seconds until he regained it, he slammed on the brakes and everyone held their breath until they were sure the car had stopped moving.
“What the hell was that?” Arthur asked, his heart still beating loudly.
Hosea was already halfway out the car. “John!” He shouted.
Arthur and Dutch stepped out quickly, John was standing in the middle of the road, standing with his hands on his hips almost annoyed.
“Took you long enough!” He shouted over the storm.
“John! Get over here now!” Dutch bellowed, the headlights illuminated John in the road as snow swirled around him.
“Come on!” John shouted, turning tail and running down the street.
Arthur shared a glance with the two.
“Well go after him, Arthur,” Dutch said to him, pinching the bridge of his nose, muttering all sorts of insults.
Arthur set off after him, except John stopped right in front of the tree. Arthur was damn near ready to tackle the foolish boy, but there was something serene about watching his brother stare bewitched at the twinkling lights. Arthur caught up with him and stood in silence for a moment.
“Before you say anything let’s wait for Dutch and Hosea,” John said, his eyes remaining fixed on the tree.
Arthur let out a sigh of annoyance. Eventually they heard the crunch of footsteps against the snow.
“John! What the hell was that?” Dutch called out.
John was dressed for the cold, he had mittens, boots, a large coat and a hat. The rest of the men only had on their tuxedos and furs.
“I’ve been out here all night. I knew you’d show up.” He began to explain, turning to Dutch and Hosea.
“You’re always at that stupid party, I never get to see you during the holidays, and if I do you only show me off to your rich friends like I’m some charity case,” John said, frustration filled his voice.
Dutch and Hosea both frowned.
“For once, I want a real Christmas instead of some party with a bunch of strangers. Like a family would have.”
The storm had let up, instead the snow twirled lazily through the sky, causing the snow from the bright lights to look like diamonds falling from the heavens.
Dutch and Hosea looked at Arthur for some confirmation.
He shrugged, “I don’t like the party either.”
Dutch and Hosea stared at each other for a moment.
“Then let’s stay away from the party for the rest of the night, what do you say, Dutch? The boys deserve a real Christmas,” Hosea suggested. John broke out in a bright grin.
Dutch sighed and nodded, “Alright.”
Arthur was surprised at the stunt John had pulled, as much as he hated the party, it was definitely out there. In truth, he expected nothing less from the delinquent. Running off wasn’t anything special to him, but on the night of the party was. All to get Dutch and Hosea’s attention.
“Thank you,” John said sincerely, he was relieved Hosea and Dutch hadn’t yelled at him yet.
The snow continued to swirl, almost like ribbon.
“I almost forgot!” John said quickly, digging into his pockets, he pulled out a slip of paper.
He handed it to Hosea. Hosea smiled warmly and showed the picture to Dutch, then Arthur.
It was a photo of the four of them, sharing a laugh at a table, Arthur had placed his hat on top of John and John barely fit into it, the hat covered most of his view.
It was a nice memory, a few months back. So much had happened since then it had slipped all of their minds.
“Where did you get this?” Arthur asked, examining the back of the picture.
“Albert Mason took it when we were at the grand opening of Pearson’s restaurant, remember?” John replied.
“Ah, yeah, now I do.”
•••
They returned to the apartment, Dutch and Hosea swinging by their respective homes to retrieve the gifts they had bought.
John was ecstatic to open gifts in a home next to a fireplace rather than a spiffed up basement. He had gotten everything he had wanted. Arthur smiled warmly at the sight of it all. There was no party chatter, no drunken fools, no fakeness, it was all genuine. It was no performance. It was cozy and homely, and joyful and everything Arthur had secretly wanted out of Christmas.
The framed picture sat on the fireplace for years for many more Christmases.
Sometimes John liked to pick it up and show baby Jack the photo. The infant recognized all of them, and giggled happily at the sight of his father’s family. Many more memories had been made since then, but John liked to think this was where it all truly started. The parties were still thrown, this time moved from Christmas Day to Christmas Eve. Both John and Arthur were forced to attend.
John looked at the back. It was a distant memory now, though the picture had not collected dust.

Nightmares
AO3 link
Nightmare disorder :
Nightmare disorder, also known as dream anxiety disorder, is a sleep disorder characterized by frequent nightmares. The nightmares often portray the individual in a situation that jeopardizes their life or personal safety. Though most people have experienced at least one nightmare during their life, subjects with nightmare disorder experience them with a greater frequency.
The nightmare sufferer is often awakened by these threatening, frightening dreams and can often vividly remember their experience. Upon awakening, the sleeper is usually alert and oriented within their surroundings, but may have an increased heart rate and symptoms of anxiety, like sweating. They may have trouble falling back to sleep for fear they will experience another nightmare.
The death of a loved one or a stressful life event can be enough to cause a nightmare

Note : Another thing from a random idea that came to mind (you know these moments when you brain suddenly starts thinking about a random small scenario ? That’s what this fic is). This fic takes place some time before the duo was sent on a mission in Danville, so some time before season 1 (at least two years before it given how they were already on pistachio duty in “The Llama Incident”, which takes place the year before the show). And as usual, old married couple (and I finally have an excuse to write them in a scenario where they can be an actual affectionate couple without either of them showing restrain ! : D ). Also the place is their house, in the future/their present (I can’t help but think that being a time-traveler pays pretty well. I mean, they almost got to a trip in Hawaii after losing their job) Enjoy !
WARNING : The first part is pretty gruesome. So if you’re sensible, skip the text in italics (there’s a short line at the end of the part).
And regarding that first part : don’t worry, I’m completely fine ! I have no idea why it came out so dark but I swear it has nothing to do with a potentially bad mental state.
Also, after writing that, I’m starting to realize why I insist so much on the idea of Dakota having trauma when I talk about the rogue arc and how much of a mess Dakota was during it.
It was a stormy day when they arrived to 942. The woods they chose to hide their car in was dark with the dense cover of clouds and leaves over them. As they came out of the car, they could feel a few drops from the rain. Aside from the blow of the wind through the leaves and the tempo of the rain drops, the place was silent.
Balthazar talked. Telling about their mission, about where they needed to go. He listened, his back against the car, smiling at the man. Balthazar was in a good mood. He looked fierce, determined to succeed, to give his all. It was one of those moments where Balthazar had never looked so alive.
He loved it.
It made him want to give his all as well. To run along, Balthazar by his side. To go anywhere and everywhere with him. For all eternity.
The storm because louder, closer, and before either of them could react, it hit. A three caught on fire and fell. They tried to run, but the fire was faster. And it landed on them, on him. Balthazar was crushed. He could feel the body going limp near him. He could see the blood pool out and spread around the tree, it’s metallic sent taking over his senses.
He was still alive. His legs were caught under the trunk, but he didn’t feel any pain. He just felt numb. How could he not ? Balthazar was gone.
He tried to get out, to run to the car, but he was helpless. He didn’t have the strength to push the tree away. He tried, over and over again. He needed to go to the car, to fix this, to get him back !
Another flash, and another tree caught on fire. He held his breath, horrified as it fell, landing right onto the car. The vehicle’s alarm spurted to life, creating a cacophony that he could barely handle.
nonononononononono !
This couldn’t be happening ! He needed the car ! Or the intercommunicator ! The communicator…
The communicator had been crushed, along with Balthazar.
What was he supposed to do now ?! He couldn’t just wait around for help ! If the bureau were to find him, they would see that Balthazar died ! He wouldn’t be able to go back, they would notice ! So what now ?!
He couldn’t focus. He couldn’t think. The car was too loud ! The blood…the blood was everywhere ! It was all too much ! Tears fell from his eyes as he tried to block it all out.
Leave. He needed to leave ! Now !
Another lighting.
Another flash.
Another tree.
He could only scream as the wood came closer, crushing his upper body. He tried to keep breathing, to not let himself faint. He couldn’t die ! He needed to save Balthazar !
He could see his own blood pooling out, adding to the crimson colors of the grass.
No. He couldn’t die…He needed to go on.
He heard the crack of a branch above him, and everything went dark.
----------
Vinnie woke up in a spurt, breath heavy, sweat dripping from his forehead.
It took him a few moments to take in his surroundings. He wasn’t in a forest, it wasn’t wet or cold, there was no unbearable noises. It smelled…it smelled like lavender. And the “ground” he was sitting on was soft and comfy instead of hard and uncomfortable.
Vinnie looked around, feeling his pulse slow down as he recognized at the familiar room : The bookshelf that mixed animals encyclopedias, time-travel theory books and adventure stories, an animal refuge poster next to a Professor Time one, a few items there and there, Dennis, Balthazar’s favorite comfort companion.
Balthazar
Vinnie looked next to him. The man was sleeping soundly, his mustache moving slightly at each breath, a hand on Vinnie’s leg. If the commotion possibly got the taller man out of a deeper sleep, at least it didn’t wake him up. The shorter man sighed in relief. Balth was fine. He was alive.
Vinnie noticed how Balth was frowning and gently took his hand, kissing it before gently caressing it. They came back home after an exhausting mission, and his husband deserved to rest. Besides, there was nothing he could do to help Vinnie, and knowing that he had yet another nightmare would only worry the taller man, which Vinnie would rather avoid.
Once Balth looked more relaxed, Vinnie let go of his hand and sat on the edge of the bed, thinking about his nightmare. He remembered this mission. Lightning had struck a tree, which crushed his partner. Of course, Vinnie had been able to go back and keep Balth close. And yet…
He sighed. His dreams had a tendency to twist the reality in the worse ways possible. At least during some nights. Most of the time, his nightmares were memories of Balth’s most gruesome deaths and he woke up the moment his partner was a goner. But then there were those nights where things were much worse than a repressed memory.
Vinnie thought about going to take a midnight snack. Maybe drink some water. But he could still feel himself shaking, and he didn’t want to leave Balth. So he lied back onto the bed, snuggling against his husband. Soon enough, he felt the man wrap him into his arms. He smiled. Balth was safe. Vinnie could go back to save him. He always could.
It had just been a bad dream.
--------
Vinnie woke up grudgingly. The warmth next to him was gone. When he opened his eyes, he could see the sunlight illuminating the room, with the blinds stopping it from reaching Vinnie’s face. The man smiled. It never failed to amuse him how much care Balth gave to his eye condition.
The small man put his glasses on, stirred and walked out of the room. He made a stop to the bathroom to get his recommended treatment for his nightmares along with some sleeping pills to put on a counter, where he won’t forget them this night. That is, if they sleep home this night. He couldn’t bring the pills to the past. With Balth’s luck, he couldn’t risk it. He needed to be able to stay alert at all times.
Balth was already at the table in their kitchen/living-room, tea in hand. In front of the opposite seat was Vinnie’s usual cup of coffee, along with a biscuit box.
“Good morning, dear.”, Balth greeted.
“Hey.”, Vinnie replied with a yawn. His husband eyed him with curiosity before noticing the boxes in his hand.
“Another nightmare ?”, he asked, concerned.
“It’s fine.”, the shorter man shrugged. He went to his partner, letting the taller man cup his face and kiss him. “I didn’t stay up long afterwards.”, he continued after pulling away.
“Still. It’s the third this week.”, Balth pointed out. “Was it a moderate or a bad one this time ?”
“Everything’s fine, hon.”, Vinnie just shrugged again, taking his seat. “You don’t have to worry about me.” He could tell that his partner wanted to ask more, but after doing this for years, he knew how pointless it was.
“Well…”, Balth still decided to continue. “If you ever want to talk about it. You know I’m here. And if you want to go back to seeing a professional…”
“Thanks. But no thanks.”, he replied with a comforting smile. He knew Balth hated seeing him suffer without being able to do anything about it. And he knew the man hoped everyday to see him open up about it. Truth be told, Vinnie wasn’t that much happy about it either. He didn’t like having to push his husband away like that. And it was worse the nights when Balth would be woken up by him, especially when he had the worst nightmares. At first, it’s nice. The taller man cradles him, rubs his back, plays with his hair, making Vinnie feel safer than ever. He would fall asleep in the other man’s arms, feeling completely at ease. But then would come morning, and Balth just wouldn’t stop asking the shorter man for an explanation.
But he couldn’t tell him. He simply couldn’t. Balth was all about respecting the rules. If he knew he was meant to die…Vinnie didn’t want to lose the love of his life. As for seeking professional help, Vinnie had tried at first, when he and Balth first started sharing a bed and Balth saw him waking up in terror on the regular. But after a while, he decided that trying to forget and using meds would be more efficient than giving a therapist hypothetical scenarios and hoping them to understand. Besides, what if the therapist told B.O.T.T. about his actions ?
“So, did we get the info for today’s mission ?”, he tried to change the subject. Balth still looked worried and skeptical, but he decided to go along with it.
“We received a call earlier.”, the taller man confirmed. “We have to travel to 1374 and divert some man’s attention. Apparently he was supposed to prevent an important figure from getting wealthy through a sell. We have to make this sell happen and assure this person’s future.”
“1374, huh.”, Vinnie commented. “Well I guess we’ll use the ‘three don’t’ rule again.”
“The ‘three don’t’ rule ?”, Vinnie almost laughed at Balth’s confusion. Truth be told, it was a name he had thought of yesterday.
“Yeah. You know : Don’t kiss. Don’t flirt. Don’t use first names. I would add more but, you know, those are the main ones.”
“…Did you seriously decided to name those restrictions ?”, Balth looked moments away from a facepalm.
“What ?”, Vinnie teased. “How was I supposed to call it ? ‘Balthazar’s paranoid restrictions on our relationship’ ? That’s way too long.”
“…Nevermind that.”, his partner sighed. “And I don’t think we will need much restrictions anyways. This will be a quick mission with no need for accommodations.”
“You mean we’ll be back to sleep at home instead of in some random shelter in the past.”
“Exactly.”, Vinnie didn’t miss the way Balth eyed the medicine still on the table.
“Well.”, the shorter man stood up. “I guess we’d better get ready then.”, he headed towards the bathroom but was stopped as Balth grabbed his wrist. He faced the other man and his smile dropped as he saw the worry in his eyes.
“Vinnie, are you sure you’re alright ?”
“I’m fine, Balth. I swear.”, he tried reassuring but Balth’s expression didn’t change.
His partner opened and closed his mouth before deciding to hug the smaller man.
“aw, come on honey.”, Vinnie protested. But despite his protests, he couldn’t help but grab on the man’s Professor-Time-themed pajamas and bury his face in his neck. In an instant, Balth’s hands were on his hair and back. The man also planted a few kisses on his partner’s head. Vinnie felt himself dose off and let the warm embrace overtake him.
After what felt like way too soon, Balth pulled away. The shorter man whined at the loss.
“Come on Vinnie.”, Balth said. “We’re going to be late for our mission.”
“There’s no ‘getting late’ here, Balth.”, Vinnie yawned in protest. “But since you want to get ready and I want more of you, how about we compromise ?”, he raised his eyebrows suggestively as he pointed to the bathroom.
“Not today.”, Balth replied, his soft expression gone. Looks like Vinnie ruined the moment. Whoops.
“Alright. Have it your way.”
While Vinnie went to the bathroom, Balth went back to the table to clean their cups. As he reached the door, Vinnie couldn’t help but look back at his husband. When the taller man took the meds and put them on the counter, he gave Vinnie a glance. Nothing was said. And yet, Balthazar’s determined expression told a thousand words.
You take care of me during the day. Somehow, you’re always here when I’m in danger, and you make sure I don’t get hurt. You’re able to fight the force that led me to be so accident-prone.
Now it’s my turn.
Let me be the one who protects you during the night.
Let me be the one to fight the force that drove all those demons to you.
Let me be here for you the way you are for me.

Respected and Loved - NamKook Littlespace Drabble
Tumblr media
(Gif source - me)
“Anonymous asked:  Hey! I was wondering if you could do a Jungkook-centric littlespace AU. I was wondering if his main caregiver could be Namjoon hyung. Panic attacks and angst with fluff and happiness at the end would be great.”
A/N: I know that I took longer to post it than I originally planned, but I realized that posting it for Kook’s birthday would be perfect so I hope it was worth the wait! Also, I really liked the JinKook idea you gave me as well, I might work on it for a while and post that for Jin’s birthday in December.
Anyways, enjoy! And Happy Birthday to the one and only Jeon Jungkook <3
Pairing: Little!Jungkook X Caregiver!Namjoon
Rating: T (swearing, panic attack)
Words: 2923
Hurt/comfort, fluff
WARNING: There is a pretty detailed panic attack, so if that triggers you at all, please do not read this fic.
<><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><>
It was obvious to anyone and everyone with eyes that Jeon Jungkook admired and respected his Namjoon-hyung. Between the doe eyes staring up at the older like he hung the stars in the sky and the way Jungkook’s bratty behavior immediately stopped whenever Namjoon scolded him, the other members figured it out within about 0.2 seconds of knowing them both.
The thing was...Jungkook never just admired and respected his hyung. He loved him. Jungkook loved Namjoon. He didn’t know that he was in love back when they were trainees and fighting tooth and nail to be able to debut. He was too young back then to understand the pounding of his heart when his hyung was around or the way he felt like he simultaneously couldn’t breathe around Namjoon and could only breathe when he was around. It was love, though, as he grew to understand.
Alas, Namjoon never seemed to quite realize just how much he meant to their beloved maknae. For someone with an IQ of 148, he sure was oblivious when it came to Jungkook’s feelings for him.
One night a few months following their Danger promotions, the maknae line had gathered together for a sleepover. The three laid cuddled together in the bed, lights off for the night, and whispers of hesitant secrets filling the air between them.
“Jungkook,” Jimin looked at him seriously, “You love him, don’t you? Namjoon-hyung?”
And Jungkook turned as red as a tomato, stuttering over his next words. “As a h-hyung? Of course I love him.”
“What about as a lover, Kookie?” Jimin continued, not for a second buying into the younger’s act.
Taehyung, looking adorably confused, turned to Jungkook with questioning eyes. Now the maknae was trapped between his two hyungs’ gazes and bodies, unable to lie.
“Y-Yeah,” he managed out in something of a squeak. “Yeah, I love him.”
That was the first time Jungkook ever admitted it to anyone or even out loud. Seokjin was next to ask him about it, followed by Yoongi and finally Hoseok.
So, literally everyone in the group knew that Jungkook was in love with Namjoon for years and Namjoon himself still didn’t have a single clue, or if he did, he was hiding it extremely well.
Even as they got older, as Jungkook found out about littlespace, as everyone accidentally found out Jungkook was a little, as the leader became Jungkook’s unofficial main caregiver, Namjoon still didn’t realize.
Honestly, Jungkook came to the conclusion that he never would. That Jungkook would have to take his feelings to the grave with him. It wasn’t like he was ever going to confess himself, considering how timid and anxiety-ridden he was.
So, when the leader finally did find out about Jungkook’s feelings, it came as a shock to both of them.
The day was like any other and Jungkook hadn’t the slightest suspicion that his secret was going to be revealed.
He was in the dance studio with Hoseok, Seokjin, and Jimin, goofing off even if they probably should have been practicing. They were playing a game of choosing a random song and having someone freestyle dance to it.
Jimin was the first to go, and when Hoseok put on a super bright girl group song, Jimin didn’t hesitate to go full-on with the choreography and cute actions. He basked in the cheers he received from the others.
Hoseok took the floor next and got into a starting stance. Seokjin grinned smugly in his direction before putting on possibly the saddest song ever. It was a song in English so they didn’t understand all of the lyrics, but they understood enough that it made them laugh when Hoseok began his popping routine anyways. The song and the dance didn’t match in the slightest, which was what made them all lose it, really.
Seokjin took his turn confidently and listened for the beginning notes of whatever song Jungkook was going to play.
The maknae took a moment to think of a good song and grinned once he thought of one.
A heavy bass and EDM beat filled the room, a song that Jungkook knew Hoseok would be amazing at freestyling to.
Seokjin nodded before cracking his knuckles and then breaking into a complicated dance routine filled with all of the most famous, cheesy dance moves in it. He started with a slick Moonwalk, followed by the Chicken Dance, the Carlton, and the Shopping Cart.
The three dancers were on the floor laughing their asses off when Jin confidently hit the Mashed Potato and the Lawnmower before finishing off his performance with the Gangnam Style dance and the Bus Driver.
It took a good few minutes after Jin’s spectacular performance for them to gather themselves back together. Jungkook finally wiped away the tears of laughter from the corners of his eyes and took the stage.
Jimin gave him a smirk before he pressed play on the song he’d chosen.
A deep, obviously sensual song began playing through the dance studio, making the maknae roll his eyes.
Shrugging off his initial hesitance, Jungkook decided to put on a show for his hyungs. He started off with grinding on the floor like they did in their Blood Sweat & Tears dance, followed by numerous hip thrusts and body rolls incorporated into smooth choreography.
Hoseok and Seokjin were hollering and whistling, hyping the maknae up in his performance. Jimin could only think about how ARMYs would die if they had the chance to see this dance, even if it was only a joke.
Jungkook finished his performance, panting and sweating from the workout.
“Dang, JK!” Seokjin exclaimed, bringing a nice, cool water bottle over to the maknae.
As the youngest chugged the drink thankfully, Hoseok waggled his eyebrows suggestively. “Is that the dance you want to perform for Namjoon?”
Jungkook promptly choked on the water.
Jimin snorted, “Do you think Namjoon would finally figure out Jungkook’s feelings for him if he did?”
“W-What?”
The new voice startled the four of them, all turning towards the door to the dance studio, where none other than Kim Namjoon himself stood. He had wide eyes and his jaw dropped slightly, blush creeping up his cheeks.
Jungkook’s heart fell to his stomach. Had his hyung seen what he’d just done? Had he heard what the others said? Judging by the look on his face, yes, yes he did.
Everything was silent in the normally chaotic dance studio, Namjoon trying to process the information he’d just been given, and the other three trying to find a way to explain what they’d just accidentally revealed.
Jungkook’s mouth felt dry and full of cotton, his heartbeat the only thing he could really hear pounding in his ears.
The maknae tore out the back door to the studio before any of them could even think to stop him. He ran through the company hallways until he reached the front door and then he ran some more.
Namjoon knew. Namjoon knew.
Despite the fact that Jungkook wanted his hyung to know, now that it was happening it was all just too much for him to handle.
What if his hyung hated him now or was disgusted with him? Jungkook felt his stomach twist into knots at the thought.
Jungkook ran and ran and ran. His lungs were aching for breath and vision was blurry from his tears, but he never once stopped.
Then he internally gasped. What if everything was ruined now, and the whole band was going to have to break up because of his stupid feelings? Jungkook would never, could never let that happen, but to keep the peace between the other members he’d probably have to leave the group himself.
“Jungkook! Jungkook!”
The maknae vaguely heard the voice calling after him as he ran, but it was overrun by his self-deprecating thoughts.
The sound of car horns honking loudly brought him back to the present and Jungkook realized he was in the middle of a road and while other vehicles had managed to stop for him in time, there was one dark-colored car that was heading straight for him.
“Jungkook!”
There was a harsh yank on Jungkook’s arm and he managed to stumble out of the way of the car as it came to a screeching halt. The vehicle would have hit him if he’d stayed in that spot. It wasn’t going fast enough to have killed him, but he definitely would have broken some bones.
The maknae looked around him in a shocked daze that didn’t feel at all like reality. Now safely on the sidewalk, he looked up to see Namjoon standing there with his arms around Jungkook tightly.
“Jungkook, oh my god, that was so close!” Namjoon was rambling under his breath. The man raised his hands to Jungkook’s face and inspected it. “Are you hurt?”
Jungkook shook his head, not being able to find any words in his shocked state.
Taking a deep breath, Namjoon pulled out a black mask matching the one he had on himself and slipped it onto the maknae’s face. “Let’s get you out of here before someone recognizes you. I think we need to talk, Jungkook-ah.”
The two of them took a car back to their dorm because apparently Jungkook had gotten impossibly far in his race to get away from his problems. They didn’t speak while the manager drove them back, but Namjoon held onto Jungkook’s hand firmly.
Jungkook was still so shell-shocked from his almost car accident that everything went by in a haze. The next thing he knew he was sitting on the couch in their dorm with a blanket wrapped around him and a cup of water in his hands.
Namjoon sat down beside him and set a hand on the maknae’s shoulder. “Kook-ah, can you look at me please?”
And Jungkook couldn’t say no to his hyung, had never been able to, so he raised his watery eyes and looked his hyung in the face.
The leader’s expression was concerned but calm. He gave a gentle smile. “I’m so glad you’re okay. I was so scared when you took off like that...and when that car almost...” he trailed off.
“‘M sorry,” Jungkook croaked, his throat still feeling tight and dry from his panic attack.
Namjoon shook his head, “No...no. You don’t need to apologize. Just...you can’t run away like that when you’re scared. I don’t want you to get hurt.”
Jungkook nodded. “Me neither. I’ll try to do better.”
Namjoon sighed and started hesitantly, “So...you have feelings for me?”
The maknae’s breath hitched again and he could feel the panic attack that had settled slightly come back full force. His whole body began shaking with the effort to breathe and his heartbeat was racing in his chest.
“Jungkook! Jungkook, it’s okay! It’s okay!” Namjoon hurried to say. He grabbed the maknae by the arms and tried to get him to look into his eyes. “Don’t panic again, baby, please.”
“D-Don’t hate Kookie, please Daddy!” Jungkook slipped into littlespace without any warning. “’M sorry, ‘m sorry!” he sobbed.
“Daddy could never hate you, baby,” Namjoon replied, desperation in his voice. “I-I love you, Kookie. I’ve loved you for years.”
Jungkook stopped breathing completely for a moment. “W-What?”
Namjoon sighed and hung his head. “I never told anyone and I tried my best to hide it. I never even thought you could love me back.”
Jungkook had so much he wanted to say, needed to say, but for a few minutes, he had to regain control over his breathing. Namjoon helped him by breathing deeply with him and running his hand through his hair soothingly.
“Y-You love K-Kookie?”
The leader smiled shyly, “Yeah, yeah, I do.”
“Daddy loves Kookie,” Jungkook repeated under his breath in awe. Then he broke into an ecstatic grin. “Daddy loves Kookie!”
Namjoon couldn’t help but smile back at the younger’s cuteness. “That’s right, baby.”
Jungkook scooted over until he was seated in the older man’s lap. “Kookie loves Daddy.”
Namjoon let out a breath he didn’t realize he’d been holding as a breathy chuckle. “That’s so good to hear, baby.”
A light bulb went off in Jungkook’s head and he looked at the older with a shy blush on his cheeks. “K-Kookie made something for you.”
The maknae jumped off of Namjoon’s lap and ran down the hallway to his room. When he returned, he had a large piece of paper in his hand and was pulling his lip nervously between his teeth. Then he shut his eyes tightly and thrust the arm with the paper out in Namjoon’s direction.
Trying to fight a coo at the younger’s cute shyness, Namjoon took the paper and turned it over to see what it was. His breath hitched in his throat.
It was a picture drawn in crayons, obviously done by Little Kookie as he didn’t have as much artistic talent as his older headspace. There were two figures in the middle that appeared to be holding each other with smiles on their faces. Above their heads in speech bubbles were the words ‘I love you’. Behind the two figures were five others who were clapping happily.
It didn’t take a genius to figure out that the two figures in front were Namjoon and Jungkook, and the others in the back were their best friends. The maknae had portrayed all of their hair colors and styles pretty accurately. The picture was so sweet that the leader actually had to fight back some tears.
“This...this is beautiful, baby.” he managed out.
Jungkook finally reopened his eyes and looked at the older man with hope. “Really? Daddy likes it?”
Namjoon chuckled and reached out to run a hand through the maknae’s hair before pulling him back into his lap. “Daddy loves it.” Then he furrowed his brow in thought. “When did you draw this, though? I’m usually the one with you when you’re in littlespace.”
“TaeTae-hyungie and Jinnie-hyungie took care of Kookie when Daddy was at work one day,” the younger explained. “Kookie was really sad and he missed Daddy lots, so TaeTae said Kookie should draw a picture for Daddy.”
“Well, it’s a wonderful picture,” Namjoon praised, kissing the younger’s cheeks in thanks.
The two of them sat curled up together on the couch for hours. Namjoon rubbed the maknae’s back soothingly and the younger tucked his head comfortably into his hyung’s neck.
At one point, Namjoon got up and retrieved Jungkook’s Iron Man blanket and red pacifier from the bedroom. When he returned to the living room with them, the younger’s eyes widened and he made grabby hands at them.
They settled together again and Namjoon turned on Spongebob Squarepants on the television, though neither of them were really giving their full attention to it.
Their peace was disturbed when the front door burst open and their five bandmates piled into the room. The sudden noise startled both of them, Jungkook’s pacifier falling from his mouth as it opened in surprise.
Seokjin was the first one to get to them, his eyes wide with worry. “Sejin-hyung just told us about Kookie’s almost accident. Is everything okay?”
Hoseok was next to him in a second. “Oh god, Kookie, I’m so sorry I told your secret and caused you to run off like that. I didn’t mean to, I swear!”
“Kookie’s okay,” Jungkook answered genuinely. “And Hobi-hyungie don’t have to say sorry, Kookie isn’t mad or sad about it.”
Hoseok looked relieved and gave the maknae a kiss on the top of his head.
“So...” Jimin looked between the two on the couch pointedly. “Did you guys talk at all?”
Jungkook broke into a big bunny grin that had them all clutching at their hearts in fondness. “Yeah! Guess what Jiminie-hyungie? Daddy loves Kookie too!”
Everyone looked at their leader with happy, slightly surprised eyes. “Really?” Jimin questioned with a smile.
Namjoon felt his face and neck flush sheepishly. “Yeah, I’ve loved Kookie for a few years but I had no idea he loved me too. Did...did all of you know how Jungkook felt about me?”
The five of them nodded.
“We’ve known for a few years,” Taehyung admitted.
“Yeah, it didn’t take us very long to figure it out,” Yoongi added. “We didn’t know how you felt, though.”
Namjoon sighed, “I’m such an idiot.”
“Yeah, you are.”
“IQ 148 my ass.”
“We been knew.”
“Hey!” Jungkook scowled adorably at his hyungs. “Don’t be mean to Daddy! And don’t say bad words!”
Almost immediately, all of them mimicked zipping their lips closed and throwing away the key. Damn, all of BTS really were whipped for their maknae.
“Alright, now that that’s out of the way,” Yoongi stepped up closer and put his hands on his hips, expression serious. “We need to talk about Jungkook running off today and almost getting hit by a car.”
Jungkook groaned, ashamed, and buried his head back into Namjoon’s neck. The last thing he wanted to do right now was talk about this again.
The leader started rubbing his back again and turned to the others. “Leave him be. I already spoke with him about it and he said he’ll try not to run next time. I think the car almost hitting him was a big reality check.”
Jungkook smiled into the older man’s neck as he heard his other hyungs grumbling and pouting. Namjoon always knew exactly what he needed.
Jungkook loved Namjoon so much.
And Namjoon loved Jungkook just as much back.

Song: Partners in Crime (Set It Off)
The sirens came at precisely 7:24 pm. They were a minute and 12 seconds late; exactly as Logan had predicted. Indeed, when Virgil glanced at him, he found his lover’s normally sharp expression tinted with smugness, especially as the flashing lights drove right past their hiding place.
Virgil still felt tight. So far they had been successful- the evidence of that lay behind him- but all it would take was one misstep. One dropped eyelash, one unexpected flash of a camera.
“We need to go,” he said urgently. He glanced down at the car’s ignition. At the moment, the key lay in it, unturned and silent. “They’ll double back.”
Logan’s face was impassive. “We move too early, we’ll be found.”
“It’s the same thing if we move too late,” Virgil countered.
He could tell Logan was weighing his words, but they didn’t have time to think: they had to move. Now.
“Trust me, L,” Virgil urged.
That seemed to do the trick. Logan’s hand fell to the ignition. His eyes narrowed and Virgil could practically see the gears in his head turning as he figured out how to get on the highway quickest, which roads he needed to take to blend in, and where they could ditch this car in turn for another one.
The key turned and the car roared to life.
It was loud. Loud enough that Virgil almost told Logan to turn the blasted thing off, but Logan’s foot had already hit the gas.
There was no turning back now.
Logan drove calmly. He stopped at the stop signs, slowed as the lights turned yellow, and stayed exactly five miles above the speed limit at all times. There was no sign that the car did anything but belong there. Nobody who looked at this average, law-obeying car would connect it with the million-dollar paintings stowed carefully in the back.
The highway ramp was in view. Something within him unfoiled as they made it onto that bridge and he relaxed further when it was confirmed that the highway had enough cars on it that they wouldn’t be inconspicuous.
Logan merged quite quickly. He pulled into the fast lane, behind a medium gray car that looked almost identical to the one they were in, and sat back.
“Good call,” Logan told Virgil gently.
“I always make good calls.”
Logan glanced off the road for a brief second, solely to raise his eyebrows before bringing his focus back to the cars around him.
“Ass.”
A quirk of Logan’s mouth was the only answer he gave.
Okay, so maybe over the years Virgil’s decisions hadn’t always been perfect. His anxiety was a double-edged sword; sometimes it made exactly the kind of cut Virgil needed to figure out all possible ways out of a dangerous situation. Other times it sliced his hands and Logan and Virgil were left to clean up the blood.
But right now, his fear had pushed them out of their hiding spot. If they had stayed a moment longer the red and blue lights they had so carefully avoided for years might’ve finally shone on them.
Logan drifted into the middle lane, leaving the twin of their car to pull ahead of them. Virgil watched it go silently and reminded himself that everything was going to plan.
They were ready for this.
“Logan!”
But Logan had already spotted it. Sitting in wait, just in view, was a police vehicle. Its lights were off but Virgil could easily imagine the white plump man behind the wheel, holding a speed gun and waiting for a car to make his life slightly more interesting.
Like the rest of the cars around him, Logan hit the breaks. His speed fell- 85, 76, 70- and Virgil gripped the sides of his seat until his hands turned white.
“If we get pulled over-”
“They won’t take us alive,” Logan said. The words, which should not have been comforting in any shape or form, helped Virgil to take a breath and remember the plan.
Because they had planned for this too. Being pulled over, being talked to, what to say and how to say it. And if things went so south the cops figured out just who they were….
Virgil’s hand fell to the gun straddled in his hip.
They wouldn’t separate them. When it came down to it, the only thing that would split up Virgil and Logan was death.
The police car was behind them now. His light remained off and the extremity of Virgil’s extra tension eased away as Logan and the car's speed around them re-picked up.
“Next exit,” Virgil reminded him.
Logan’s lips curved up in his not-a-smile but totally adorable way. “I’m plenty aware, Virgil, I assure you.”
His blinker flicked on and he slowly moved over to the merging lane. Their speed dropped slightly but the roar of the highway was just as deafening and centering as before.
Logan clicked his blinker on again and moved to get off. It was a fairly busy turning point; he wasn’t the only car getting off and they had to come to a stuttering halt before being allowed back on town roads again.
The stillness was awful, but it would’ve been worse to be alone. There was safety in numbers, Virgil reminded himself, even if numbers forced the damn car to stop when all he wanted to do was get to the stupid dropping point.
Logan turned them left, down roads wooded dark roads until they finally landed at a dark empty parking lot, picked solely for its lack of cameras. Plus, not five minutes away was a car dump- a very easy place to dump one car and pick up a brand new one.
7:58.
“We’re early,” Virgil whispered.
“We expected that.”
“I hate being early.”
“You hate being on time and late as well.”
Virgil glared at Logan. A heavy sigh made its way from his boyfriend and Logan let his hand fall on Virgil’s knee and stroke it in calming little circles with his thumb.
“My apologies, Love. I’m tense.” Logan looked over at the car’s digital clock, where the stubborn “58” remained. “I’d also prefer to not be early.”
Virgil’s heart melted a little at the admission. “Forgiven,” he promised, before leaning forward and planting a kiss on Logan’s left cheek.
Logan looked so adoringly at him, Virgil nearly shoved him away.
7:59. The moment the number turned, a tiny white car pulled into the parking lot. It parked right beside them, leaving just enough space for the man they had been contacted by to jump out and walk up to Virgil’s window.
Virgil rolled it down.
“How’d it go?” Janus asked curtly.
“Exactly as planned.” Virgil’s voice had fallen back into its harder “don’t-mess-with-me” tone he always got when dealing with clients. Behind him, Logan's eyes shone like a wildcat in the dark. “Can I assume you weren’t followed?”
Janus snorted. “Please.”
Logan and Virgil glanced at each other. After a brief moment, Virgil nodded and Logan hopped out of the car, leaving the engine roaring, and opened the back door.
There were five different paintings back there. All five had been stolen from the Samburu tribe of Northern Kenya. All five had traveled around the world for a bit, earned themselves a reputation and a large net worth, before finding their way to a famous art gallery.
A famous art gallery that now found itself five paintings short.
“We’ll check in with both you and the Samburu in about a week to ensure these ended up in the right spot.” Logan’s client voice wasn’t as rough or as nasty as Virgil’s; it was pure ice and it nipped whomever he turned it on.
The noise that came from Janus was practically a snarl. “You think I would steal from my own people?”
“I think we will be checking in with you and the Samburu in about a week.” The frost from earlier had turned into a blizzard. Logan turned his back on Janus and silently helped the man move everything from car to car. Once things were situated, he slipped back into the front seat and waited.
Janus dropped a bag through Virgil’s open window and into his lap. Virgil didn’t bother hiding how he opened it and slowly rifled through the bills.
It was all there. At an obscenely low rate considering the amount of effort they had gone through to get those paintings, but plenty for the two of them.
“Make sure you change license plates,” Virgil advised.
Janus had the wisdom to nod as Virgil rolled his window up. The two of them left first, as quietly and quickly as they could without being suspicious.
“Well, Logan,” Virgil said as he stowed their money into his black hoodie, “Shall we go?”
Logan pulled into the car dump, another one of his half-smiles dancing over his face. “Indeed.”
It took them no time at all to find the car they had stashed here, hidden beautifully amongst the rubble and broken vehicles. Virgil replaced the license plates with ones they had gotten earlier while Logan made it his business to completely destroy the ones they had driven the stolen paintings around in.
Then he set the car on fire.
By the time it was done burning out, Virgil had finished with the old one. They hopped into it, this time with Virgil at the wheel, and took off into the night.
It was time to lie low for a bit.
__
“In other news Art Museum The Centre of the Mind has recently been visited by the Art Crossed Lovers. They stole five paintings: “The Sunrise” worth 34 million, “Lifting Up” worth 65 million, “Gardens of Forever” worth 22 million, “Father of Life” worth 12 million, and finally, “Wretched Dream” worth 47 million. Unlike the previous heist, nobody was harmed in the taking of these paintings however-”
Virgil glanced over at Logan, who was gripping the frying pan a little harder than normal. Slowly, Virgil pushed from their kitchen table, leaving the radio to amuse itself, and slunk around Logan’s back. “Smells good, baby,” he breathed.
“Thank you.” Logan relaxed back into his hold. “The eggs should be done in a few minutes.”
“The Centre of the Mind was considered one of the hardest places to get into, with top-of-the-line cameras, motion detection, passive infrared sensors, as well as RFID tags put into the paintings to track them. However, while no technology seems to have been turned off or broken in any way, there is no evidence of anyone other than the guards being in the building at any point in time.”
Logan had taken on the more smug look of his.
“All RFID tags were found stuck to the wall where the painting had previously been. With no way to track the paintings, officials can’t be sure where they’re headed.”
“You can guess,” Virgil muttered.
Logan’s huff of a laugh was like music to Virgil’s ears, and he rewarded the noise with a gentle kiss to the neck.
“Previous experiences with The Art Crossed Lovers suggest that all five artworks will arrive with the Samburu people of Northern Kenya, where the artwork originated. Officials ask that museums be on their guard-
“Eggs are done.” Logan turned his head sideways to look at Virgil the best he could. “Would you like to let go of me now, Love, so we can eat?”
Virgil responded with a whine and buried his face into Logan’s neck.
“The eggs will get cold.”
“Fuck the stupid eggs.”
“Hmmm.” Logan’s voice was light, slightly teasing. “How about we make a deal?”
Virgil stayed silent.
“We’ll eat breakfast, as nutrients are important, and if I remember correctly-” he jerked his head towards the radio, still spreading what they had done last night. “We burned quite a number recently.”
“Don’t care.”
“In return, you may have cuddles.”
Virgil’s eyes narrowed. “I’m a thief.”
“Accurate.”
“I can just steal cuddles.”
“Virgil-”
“And eggs.”
“...What?”
“Put the food on a plate.”
Looking more amused than anything else, Logan reached up into one of their cupboards and removed a large white plate. He piled the scrambled eggs on it and then, with Virgil still locked around his waist, added to the buttered pieces of toast he had finished a moment before.
Virgil took over. He led Logan over to the couch, sat him down, and then instantly wrapped Logan’s arm around him.
“Cuddles and nutrients.”
Logan kissed the side of his head. “Indeed.”
__
They normally waited at least four months before even planning to resurface again. This time, however, Logan got a call from a group of indigenous people in Mexico only three months into their rest period claiming that seven paintings were stolen from them and currently residing in the art museum the Gallery of Dreams. They checked up on it and of course, the group was telling the truth.
“We should wait a little longer,” Virgil muttered. “This is too soon. The museums are still on high alert.”
“The museums have been on high alert since our first three,” Logan responded. “The paintings are culturally significant. They need them in a month.”
Virgil pursed his lips. “So much could go wrong.”
Logan’s hand covered his but when Virgil glanced over at him he found that his boyfriend wasn’t looking at him but at his laptop, filled to the brim with different notes about the museum, the people, the paintings, and who would be picking them up.
“The escape route is easy.” Logan clicked onto his tab with a map. “It's practically right next to a popular highway and from there we can head to Marieville-” his finger jabbed a town- “pick up a car, wash down the other one, and head through Bardsbury-” his finger pointed again- “where Remus can pick them up.”
“What about cameras?”
Logan paused. His fingers clicked across the keyboard rapidly. Virgil let his head fall on Logan’s shoulder as he worked, quietly taking in the websites before-
“Okay, not Marieville then. It looks like Hamtree has fewer cameras and if we switch and clean cars out in this dead spot, we’d be fine.”
“Logan?”
“Hmm?”
“How close is the police station to that dead spot?”
A string of curses came out of Logan’s mouth, and Virgil smiled rather faintly as Logan had to rework their exit again.
A smaller, louder part of him reminded him that planning the escape was usually easiest, and if they were having this much trouble with just that it didn’t bode well.
“Got it. We’re heading to Lumbire.”
Virgil glanced over his route. Cameras were accounted for. They’d drop off a clean car before the heist so they could switch out and head for Bardsbury. Police stations were all over 15 minutes away from all of their spots, except for the Museum. They’d blend in, get out, find a new vehicle, and get out again.
It was simple. Perfect. Something they had done 1000 times.
“Alright,” Virgil surrendered. “What do we go about that.” He jabbed the museum with a single finger before settling back into Logan’s side.
“We gather information,” Logan replied. An arm swung itself around Virgil. “I’m certain we can figure something out.”
__
They’d been hanging out next to the Museum for the past few weeks. It had been a quick move- neither Logan nor Virgil had much stuff- and since then, it had been nothing but work, work, play, and then some more work.
Especially since it was two days to the heist.
Virgil lounged across the couch, a cup of very bitter coffee in one hand, quietly going over the plan.
He had managed to grab them some police uniforms. Nothing that would fool an actual cop, but realistic-looking enough that when they buzz the security desk and tell him they were coming about a disturbance, nothing would be questioned.
There would be two security guards. It would be pretty easy to trick them out of the security room; people were pretty compliant once they saw the cop uniform, and then further compliant when they saw the gun. Both would be handcuffed and blindfolded.
Virgil took a sip of the coffee to try and calm his nerves.
Logan would enter the security room and hack into their technology. He had estimated it would take him under five minutes to make sure everything would come up blank for the time they were there. If the button to call the police had an easy-to-find wire, it would be cut.
Neither of them believed such a wire would exist.
From then on, it was just a race. Get to the paintings, load them into the car, and then get out of there. If things went really really well, the police wouldn’t even be alerted till morning.
Virgil pursed his lips and glanced over at the male sitting a couple of feet away from him. Logan was frowning- never a good sign- and looking rather blankly down at their notes.
“You good?”
Logan didn’t respond.
“L?”
His boyfriend blinked and turned to him. “Yes, Love?”
Virgil rolled his eyes and maneuvered around, placing his coffee on the table in front of the couch and dropping his head upon Logan’s lap. “You good?” he repeated.
Logan’s hand fell into his hair. “I was thinking about our escape route.”
“Yeah?”
“It might be smarter to avoid the highway since we’ll be moving in the early morning.”
Virgil paused. He went back over their plan silently, trying to piece what Logan said into it.
It wouldn’t be a big change. They’d still be going to the same towns, still have the same stopping points.
“We’d be on the road longer.”
“Indeed.” Logan gnawed on his bottom lip. “That’s why I haven’t brought it up with you yet. I’m not wholly convinced it's necessary, especially since the cops won’t be notified.”
They fell silent again. Virgil mulled it over.
“I’m for side roads.”
Logan’s eyebrows shot up. “Really? You hate last-minute changes.”
Yeah, and the butterflies in Virgil’s stomach were not thanking him for deciding this. He swallowed and curled closer into the warmth of Logan’s lap and gently stroking of his hair.
“I know. But I think this is a good one.”
Logan licked his lips. “Alright then,” he decided. “We’ll go side roads.”
__
They parked as close to the Museum as they could get without it being straight in the front. Logan turned the key, turning the car off, but left the key in the ignition in case they had to go at a moment's notice. Both of them pulled hats down to cover their hair and Logan pushed his glasses up his nose.
“Ready, Love?”
“Ready, Baby.”
The two of them opened their respective car doors at the same time. Logan straightened the fake police badge on his shoulder and strode right up to a door off to the side and hit the buzzer.
A voice came over the intercom. “Hello?” It came out a little nervous, slightly shaky. “Can I help you?”
Virgil watched with some amusement as Logan took a breath and practically sunk into the person he was supposed to be embodying until it wasn’t his boyfriend the art thief that stood across from him.
It was just a cop.
“Yes, we’re here about a disturbance call,” Logan's voice was curt. “Do you mind if we just come up and poke around? It won’t take long.”
“I’m not supposed to allow-”
“We’ll be quite quick,” Virgil jumped in. He made his tone warmer than Logan’s, softer. He’d learned enough about this person to know they would appreciate it. “I’m sure it's nothing, but protocol, you know.”
Logan’s mouth quirked up.
“Al-Alright then, Yeah, I’ll buzz you in.”
Almost as he said it, there was a loud buzzing noise, and Logan opened the door. The two of them strode into the building and just before the door could close, Virgil stuck an old keycard in between the lock.
There was no need to worry about getting stuck indoors.
They padded their way up to the security guard. Both Logan and Virgil’s hands had come to rest on the small handguns on their waist. They had each only fired from it during a heist once- but during practice earlier, neither had missed a mark.
“Hi.” There was a 20-something-year-old sitting behind glass. They wore large oval glasses and stared out at the two of them with big brown innocent eyes.
They probably shouldn’t have taken a job as a guard.
“Do they… ” Logan looked the guard up and down and then over at Virgil. “Do they look like…?”
Virgil had to keep from smiling. God, his boyfriend was good.
“Are you Patton Lennon?” he asked. He tried to keep the warmth from earlier while adding a bit more roughness and suspicion.
The guard reacted exactly as Virgil wanted them to. They pulled back, away from the glass, away from the system- and away from the button that called the police.
“I- Yes, but why-”
“Come out.” Logan left no room for negotiation. “We have some questions for you, Mx. Lennon.”
It was almost too easy. Patton instantly left the security guard area. As the door opened, Logan caught it on one hand and pulled it the rest of the way open, as if he were holding it for them. Patton didn’t seem to find this strange, though Virgil watched their eyebrows knit together as Logan stepped into the room.
It was too late for them anyway. Virgil pulled the gun off of the guard's waistband and handcuffed him before Logan had even made it to the control panel.
“What are you…” Patton’s eyes widened. “You’re not cops! Are you…”
“Don’t fight and you won’t get hurt.” Any warmth had died in the chasm of terror eating Virgil from the inside out.
Logan's eyes flickered over the system. “This is garbage. You don’t even have RFID tags.”
Patton shrugged helplessly.
“Well, better news for us.” Logan's fingers flew across random buttons. “Alright Love, we have an hour before anything starts showing us in here. Shall we get started?”
Virgil nodded quietly.
Logan strode out of the security room and let the door fall closed. His lips pursed as he looked at it; apparently, there hadn’t been any wire to cut off the police button.
They would just have to be extra careful.
“Where’s the second guard?” Logan’s question was directed towards Patton, who gave the same helpless shrug from earlier. However, something in his eyes flickered and it made Virgil nervous. He looked around them.
“Baby-”
Bang!
Bang!
The first thing Virgil felt wasn’t the pain but the pushback. The bullet had shot clean through his shoulder, whirling him against the wall behind him. It wasn’t until he had fully sunk to the floor did the pain hit and he remembered to pull out his own gun.
Logan was much more reactive than he was. Before Virgil had even registered the pushback, his boyfriend had whirled around and fired straight through the second security guard's forehead.
Patton screamed. “ROMAN!”
“You move, you die.” Logan’s voice was like nothing Virgil had ever heard before. It wasn’t ice; this was pure fire, pure fury, and the slightest amount of desperation. “Got it?”
Patton just sobbed out that guard's name. Roman, Roman, Roman.
Logan ripped off the police shirt and pressed it against the wound. Virgil whimpered as it hit him and despite his best efforts, tears pooled in his eyes. He closed them tightly, trying to breathe, even as each breath sent shockwaves through his body.
“I’ve got you, Love.” Both of Logan’s hands worked Virgil’s wound, using his blue tie to wrap around the police shirt and hold it there. “This is going to hurt.”
“Baby, I'm a little scared.” He was not at all happy with how pathetic his voice sounded, and how no matter what he tried he couldn’t pull the sobs back in.
“Now don't you quit on me.” Logan’s voice was soft, but not meek. “I’m going to tighten the tie. Okay?”
Virgil nodded. Sweat beaded down his forehead and he let his head drop back.
“3. 2. 1.”
Logan pulled and the tie forced the shirt tight around the bullet hole. Virgil let out a scream and he felt Logan shudder with it. When he opened his eyes, he found tears glistening on his boyfriend’s face- tears that Logan was quick to swipe away.
“I’m alright,” Virgil whispered. “Where’s…” His eyes widened. “Baby, Patton-”
It was far too late. The guard had already smacked that police button, having snuck into the security guard’s room while Logan tended to Virgil. Patton’s eyes went wide as they looked over at the pair of them, and they whimpered as Logan turned to them, face unreadable.
“Come here.”
Patton decided not to argue. The moment they were within distance, Logan’s arm came up, slamming the butt of his gun into Patton’s temple with more ferocity than Virgil had ever seen his boyfriend exhibit. The guard collapsed to the floor, unconscious, and Logan put handcuffs around his ankles before leaning over to Virgil.
“Come on Love. We’re going.”
Virgil wasn’t about to argue. He tried his best not to whimper as Logan lifted him up, but from the pained look on Logan’s face, he had failed miserably. Slowly, they made their way over to the door, the door that would lead to their car, and that would lead them out of here.
They could still make it.
Weee-ooowww Weee-ooowww…
Virgil’s heart fell. He glanced over at Logan, who pressed a firm kiss to his temple.
“They don’t take us alive,” Virgil told him.
A flicker of a smile appeared on Logan’s face. “Do you wish to go down in a blaze of glory, Love, or here?”
“Is that even a question baby?” Virgil faced the door, and the lights he knew lay beyond them. “Let’s make sure we’re remembered.”
It would be difficult for Virgil to fire a gun. His right arm wasn’t able to move, and the left was strung up and around Logan’s shoulder, to help his boyfriend to keep from dropping him. But Logan unclipped Virgil’s gun from around his waist and passed it to Virgil’s left hand, so the tip faced forward.
There wouldn’t be any aim, but Virgil was ready to cause a little chaos.
Logan swung the door open and stepped both of them through the frame. They looked out, over the sea of flashing police cars, and the policemen and women huddled behind them with their guns up in the air.
“This is the sheriff's police department! Come out with your hands up! We have the place surrounded!”
Virgil grinned. He could barely hear the calls of the police officer; it was blocked by the harsh pulse thumping in his ears, pounding in his wound.
“Put your weapons down!”
Logan cocked his gun.
“Put your weapons down!”
Logan and Virgil looked at each other. Eyes locked, Logan leaned forward and slammed their lips together. Just as they met, both Virgil and Logan pulled the triggers on their guns.
The Art Crossed Lovers were still kissing when the answering shots blew their brains out.

Tumblr media
You had tried to keep the full extent of your anxiety to yourself, Timothee already worried enough about you. You had met him at a cafe, he stopped in every morning for a coffee before he went to film. You sort of knew who he was, but you didn’t know the full extent to his fame until you started hanging out with him. The cameras flashing as you stepped into his car, and the dark blush over his pale cheeks as he politely waved off questions. You felt your anxiety spike right then but you kept it at bay the best you could, you had an enormous crush on him and you wanted to spend time with him. Normally you would let your anxiety scare you back into your hermit hole apartment, but you really liked Tim. You didn’t want to stop spending time with him, so regardless of the trembling of your palms or the anxious beating of your heart you slid into his car next to him. You were still wearing your uniform and apron from the cafe, you smelled like coffee and donuts. A police officers wet dream. You blushed once his door was closed and he sent one bashful smile your way before starting the engine. “Wow.” You breathed as he carefully pulled out of the parking lot, careful not to hit anyone surrounding the car.
“It’s not normally this crazy, I swear it’s because I’m with a girl.” Timothee laughs, a flash of worry in his eyes when he sees the pale fear stricken expression on your face. Once most of the cameras and people were left behind you, you felt your heart rate slowing. “Why would that matter?” You ask him, suddenly self conscious. He was sat in a dark jacket and jeans that hugged his legs so perfectly, he smelled like spearmint and cinnamon, and his curls were perfectly messy. They gave him that adorable boyish look. While your hair was in a frizzy ponytail, you were in old worn out shoes, greasy jeans, and a wrinkled t-shirt with a creme apron on and matching ball cap styled hat. Timothee looked like a teenage girls masturbation fantasy while you felt greasy and disgusting. He smiled as a nervous chuckle left his lips, “last time I was out publicly with a girl I’m not related to, was my ex-girlfriend. They probably think we’re dating.” Timothee explained and the mere thought sent heat rising to your cheeks. You chewed on the inside of your cheek, “as if you’d date a frumpy coffee girl.” You laughed, and while you were joking Timothee hardly took it that way.
“Don’t say that.” He said, a shadow falling over his face as he turned the corner towards a neighborhood of nice looking houses. You pinched your eyebrows together, most of your jokes were self-depreciating jokes. “Say what?” You ask, your heart feeling squeezed in your chest. Had you made him angry? Did you say something wrong? Bile turned in your gut as you fought off the urge to throw up, something that only happens when you get really anxious. “Don’t put yourself down.” Timothee said, his lips curved down in a small frown as he pulled up to a medium sized house. You didn’t know what to say so you simply exited the car and followed him into his house, he’d asked you to come over for dinner tonight after work. Once the door was closed, you felt your chest being crushed as you looked at him. “I’m sorry.” You blurted, taking him by surprise as Timothee turned to look at you. He took a step towards you and concern fell over his features when he saw your misty eyes. “For what?” Timothee asked, his voice soft as he looked into your eyes. The intensity of his stare caused your heart to quicken in your chest, “upsetting you in the car.” You breathed, desperately fighting the onslaught of tears.
Timothee shook his head, his hands coming up to cup your cheeks. “You didn’t, I just hate when you put yourself down. You’re beautiful.” Timothee said softly, his eyes looking genuine as he watched your expression change. He releases you and shrugs his jacket off, tossing it over the back of a couch before striding to the kitchen. You nervously toe out of your shoes as you remove your hat and apron before following him. Timothee flashes you a smile and you feel your heart go crazy in your chest, “what are you hungry for?” He asks, leaning back against the counter. Your immediate response to his question is ‘poison’. Yet another sad, somewhat self-depreciating joke. You bite your tongue, remembering how he reacted to your self hating humor last time. You eventually shrug with a bloom of red on your cheeks as you smile at him. Timothee hummed to himself before reaching for his phone, “I’m too tired to cook. Pizza?” He asks and you nod immediately. Although you’re not sure how hungry you are- you still feel somewhat nauseous. When his focus is on his phone screen you feel your heart beginning to race, what if he likes you? Like has feelings for you? While that would be a dream come true because you’re pretty sure you’re in love with him, you know it would end in flames.
You’re not an actress, or a model, or even pretty. You’re a girl who works in a cafe with crumpled clothes and a messy room. While Timothee is young, successful, put together, and responsible. You feel like an immature teenager compared to him, if he had feelings for you he would grow tired of you really quick. It would break your heart to lose him but you know sooner or later it’s going to happen. His ex-girlfriend is Lily-Rose Depp for fuck sakes, how on Earth are you supposed to compete with her? You’re nowhere near on the same level that she is, she’s like a goddess, and you feel like a mole rat compared to her. You’re pretty sure if you had to compete with your reflection, your reflection would win. You felt dizzy as you slammed your hand down on the counter, effectively drawing Timothee’s attention after he’d ordered the pizza. His eyes landed on you and his hands were holding you up immediately, concern washed over his face. “Y/N? What’s wrong?” He asked, but his voice sounded like it was underwater as your heart raced faster and faster and all of a sudden it felt like you couldn’t breathe. Your eyes fluttered as you slid against the kitchen cabinets to the ground, your fall broken by Timothee’s hard grip on you. Panic was settling in his eyes and you saw his lips moving but heard nothing but a loud ringing in your ears.
You felt frantic as you grabbed two handfuls of his shirt, your eyes wide and you felt damn near out of control as you held onto him. Timothee pulled your head into his chest and you fought against him at first but then you relaxed against his chest and his arms wrapped protectively around you. You heard his heart hammering against his chest as you slowly calmed down to the steady sound of his breathing. Timothee was shaking as he held you tightly, and he wasn’t entirely sure he knew what just happened. All he knew was that you scared the shit out of him. Once you’d relaxed enough to speak you pulled away from his chest and leaned back against the cabinets. Timothee stayed crouched in front of you, his hands still gently holding your arms. “What just happened?” He asked, and you felt guilty when you felt how hard he was trembling as he held you. “I-I had a panic attack.” You say softly, feeling incredibly ashamed and embarrassed. You refused to meet his eyes as he looked into your eyes, you had no idea what was going through his head. Timothee let out a long breath as he settled against the kitchen island, sitting across from you. His legs tangled with yours as he watched you, “talk to me.” He mumbled and finally your eyes drifted up to meet his.
“What happened just now?” You know what he’s really asking, he wants to know what brought the panic attack on. But by telling him you’d basically be admitting your feelings for him which nearly brought another panic attack on- Timothee seemed to notice that. His hands reached for yours, and when you felt his fingers gently lace through yours the oncoming panic attack settled before disappearing. “You can tell me anything.” Timothee promised and you swallowed a dry lump in your throat before nodding slowly. You closed your eyes and steeled your nerves for what you were about to say next. “I-I like you Timothee, a lot and I just know I can’t compare to Lily-Rose Depp. I would never expect you to have feelings for me, you’re used to dating actresses and supermodels. I’m just some ordinary girl who wakes up late and smells like coffee beans, I started thinking about how heartbroken I’m going to be when you realize I’m not what you want-” You didn’t realize you were crying until Timothee pressed his lips against yours, and softly wiped your tears with the pads of his thumbs. Any other words you were going to say died in your throat as your entire body melted against his. The kiss was slow and gentle, and you could feel how much emotion he was pouring into it.
“If that’s what you honestly think then you couldn’t be more wrong.” Timothee breathed once you’d parted, his forehead resting against yours. You stayed silent as his eyes looked into yours, his hands holding yours tightly. “I know how I feel about you, and I don’t want Lily-Rose, or a damn supermodel because they don’t come close to comparing to you. You’re real, you’re you. You don’t put on a facade for other people or act like a different person for the cameras. You’re just you, and you’re so beautiful. You’re insanely cute, I love watching you make my coffee because every time you catch me staring at you your entire face turns red. It’s so easy to make you blush, you make me dizzy with nerves. I’m always a nervous wreck when I’m around you, I’ve never felt so addicted to anyone before but sometimes when you’re not around I seriously feel like I’m having withdraws without you.” Timothee admits, and it sets your heart on fire as you watch him with wide, watery eyes. His hands come up to cup your cheeks again as he presses his lips to yours once more. Your hands find his shoulders as he slowly pulls you into his lap. “You are exactly what I want, I’ll spend the rest of my entire life proving it to you if that’s what it takes.” Timothee whispers, nudging his nose against yours.
Making a split second decision you frantically press your lips against his, in a much more rushed kiss- laced with desperation. Your hands hold his shoulders while Timothee’s hands choose to wander as they slide delicately down your back to firmly hold your hips. Your lips press together and languidly move against each other as your tongue probes into his mouth, and you’re not sure where this act of bravery is coming from. Timothee groans softly against your mouth as you grind down against his hardening bulge. He places his hands on your shoulders and pushes you back to look at you, “do you want this?” He asks breathlessly, loving the look of your flushed cheeks. You searched his eyes for hesitation but all you saw was unbridled want being held back with every ounce of self control he has. “I want you, all of you.” You breathe and that’s all he needs before his hands hook under your thighs to haul you up with him as he stands. Your arms wrap around his shoulders as he presses kisses to your lips and cheeks. “Bed or couch?” Timothee asks, and you feel your whole body buzz with desire. You can barely think with his hands holding you up by your ass, and with his lips pressing against any inch of skin he can reach. You need him right now.
“C-Couch.” You pant, not wanting to wait while he carries you up the stairs and he smirks. Timothee turns for the living room before dropping you down on the couch, his pupils blown wide with lust. “How could you ever think I don’t want you?” Timothee asks, coming down to over over you as you lay on the couch. You stay silent as he presses his lips against to your collarbones through the fabric of your t-shirt. He reaches for the hem of your shirt before carefully pulling it over your head. He groans when he sees your breasts in your bra and his hands come up to squeeze them through your bra. “Fuck baby,” He groans, leaning down to press kisses to the swell of each breast. You moan softly as your head rolls back, enjoying the sensation of his lips on you. Timothee reaches back to unclip your bra, giving you plenty of time to stop him. You don’t. He pulls it off and he growls softly as he looks down at you, a possessive look in his eyes as he watches you. “Mine,” he hisses as he leans down to take a nipple in his mouth. You moan loudly as your hands wind in his hair, you lay back as he lavishes your chest with his lips and tongue. You feel the heat spreading down in between your legs, your entire body feels like it’s on fire.
Timothee slides one hand down to your jeans, “can I take these off baby?” He asks against the soft skin of your breast and you nod frantically. Timothee smiles against you as he slowly undoes your jeans and starts pushing them down your legs. He pulls away to untangle your jeans from your ankles and then he sits back against his heels to just stare at you. You squirm under his gaze, “what?” You ask nervously, feeling insecurity clawing it’s way into your brain. Almost as if he can sense it, Timothee presses a kiss to your lips. “Just can’t understand how I got someone so beautiful laying underneath me.” He breathes against your lips and your heart skips a beat while a wave of desire washes through your body. “A hundred girls would love to be where I am, while I’m pretty sure nobody is jealous of you for getting...me.” You say softly, beginning to feel unsure of yourself again. Timothee growls at your statement, his hands dipping into your panties and his fingers finding your aching clit. “Do you remember when we went to that outdoor mall, and I was angry the whole time?” Timothee asks, taking you by surprise. You try to concentrate on his words as you throw your head back in pleasure when he begins to rub slow circles on your clit. “Uh-huh.” You breathe through a moan. “I was angry because there was this group of guys who couldn’t control their goddamn thoughts. I saw them eye-fucking you, practically undressing you with every glance in your direction. Couldn’t keep their eyes off your perfect breasts, or your tight little ass. It drove me fucking crazy baby, this is my perfect body.” Timothee growls possessively while sliding 2 fingers deep into you.
You moan loudly as your fingers curl around the couch cushions tightly. “I just wanted to press you against the wall and pound into you right there, right in front of them. So they would know who you belong to. You have no idea how sexy you are.” Timothee hisses, his fingers quickly thrusting into you, bringing you closer to cumming. You feel the heat rising as you begin to pant but just before you cum he pulls away from you, “the only place you’ll be cumming is around my cock.” Timothee breathes into your neck and you begin to pull at his clothes, hating that he’s still fully clothed. Timothee leans back and yanks his shirt over his head before desperately fumbling with his belt while you kick your panties off. You drink in his bare chest, feeling the throbbing in your pelvis, it’s unbearable. Timothee finally kicks his jeans and boxers off, his hard on standing tall as your eyes lock on it. You feel your entire body tingle when you see his hard leaking cock, you need it inside you. “Timmy, I need you now.” You groan, reaching to pull him towards you. His frantic lips finds yours for a quick, passionate kiss as he leans you back. “On the pill?” He asks, breathless and you nod immediately. Timothee presses his head against your opening before gently pushing in, groaning at the feel of your tight walls constricting against him as he stretched you open.
Once he slid fully into you, you moaned loving how full you felt. You wrapped your arms around him as he pulled out of you, before gently sliding all the way back in. “Harder Timmy,” You panted and you felt him smirk against the skin of your shoulder as he pressed kisses there. When he pulled out again, only the tip was still inside you except this time he slammed back inside you. You cried out as he began to slam into you, the sound of skin slapping filled the room. Your head was thrown back as your hands clawed at his back, you know you’re going to leave red scratch marks. Timothee pounds into you and you cry out against him as he drives into you, “I’m gonna cum.” You moan as he reaches down to thumb your clit. Timothee’s lips press against your neck before moving to whisper into your ear, “cum on my cock baby.” He breathes and as soon as the words leave his lips- you’re exploding around him. Your entire body shudders and goes stiff as you cum harder than you ever have before and he’s not far behind you as he spills into you. You two sit there, him still inside you, just enjoying the afterglow when the doorbell rings.
You both chuckle, you completely forgot you ordered pizza. You move to stand up, but Timothee places a hand on your shoulder as he pulls out. “If you think I’m gonna let you answer the door with flushed cheeks, messy hair, looking all sexy and freshly fucked then think again,” Timothee says, a protective tone in his voice as he pulls on a pair of jeans before pressing his lips to your forehead. “Gonna give the pizza guy a damn hard on and then I’d have to do something that would probably land me in jail.” Timothee says as he turns to answer the door, causing you to giggle. He grabs his jacket and throws it on before answering the door and as you watch the light of the moon spill in through the front door and onto his face you realize something. You watch his lips curve into a smile and you spot the bead of sweat trickling down the side of his face, the only giveaway that he was just fucking you into oblivion. You sink further into the couch as the revelation occurring in your heart renders you speechless, you’re falling in love with him.

It started with a simple question, “what do you say Y/n? You coming?”
After the sudden death of her mother, Y/n is sent to live with her estranged aunt halfway across the world in Tokyo, Japan. Weary of what this new adventure might hold for her, she decides to let loose the first night she was there, but how was Y/n supposed to know it would lead to a car chase? A car chase in the the passenger seat of a very angry, very hot, street racer’s super car?
A/n: I have not a clue what’s going on with my text seperator, and these are taking for E V E R TO POST. Don’t mind me, this is just a fic dump at this point. Also I just want to point out that BOLD ITALICS are meant to be words spoken in Japanese. I didn’t realize it wasn’t keeping the font when moving the chapters from my word doc’s to here, so I’ll go back through and edit them so they make more sense. ✌🏻-squidlyskeet.

“Oi. What the hell is this.” A stern voice gritted out from behind us.
I didn’t understand a word but I knew it probably couldn’t be good. For some reason I felt like this was the infamous Bakugou.
“Oi Bakubro, where were you man. The race is about to start.” The red head, Kiri I think, blasted back in Japanese.
My confusion was spiraling as they continued their conversation. I still hadn’t turned around, and was debating how fast I could turn to leave and walk off without anybody questioning me.
Ochakos attention was taken when Deku signaled her to come over to help with something he was fiddling with, and now I was stuck between two very heated men as they rambled back and forth in Japanese.
In a split decision, I turned my heel and attempted to side step the man behind me. Figuring retreat was my best way out of this.
I made it a few steps before I let myself breathe again but I was halted when I felt a firm grip on my arm and a menacing aura behind me.
“Who the fuck are you?” The voice said, I still hadn’t looked in his direction, and if it were up to me I never would.
“Dude ease up, she doesn’t speak Japanese.” Kiri spoke, before anyone else could get a word in. I look at him in silent thanks, not understanding but would recognize the defensive tone anywhere.
“Tch. Look at me,” The voice, Bakugou, demanded.
I gulped fruitlessly trying to wet my dry mouth, and decided to give in and just look at him. If I dwelled too hard on his blatant hatred, I was afraid a flip would switch and I’d be thrown into a debilitating anxiety attack.
When I finally turned my body around to face him, that same slow motion effect kicked in as I traced his features with my eyes. His full lips were tight and slightly open, showing off his perfectly white teeth clenched underneath. Some of his pale blonde hair fell in his ruby red eyes, which were focused and narrowed on me. He was stunningly handsome, the kind of man you’d do a double take at to make sure he looked as good as the first time you glanced. Only to find out he was better looking.
His body was lean and muscular, the tight fit of his tank top showing off his biceps and forearms. He was bent down, probably trying to intimidate me, and like the other two massive guys he was towering over me too.
In conclusion, Bakugou looked like he was made of all hard angles. From his personality to his body, nothing but ice cold stone.
I didn’t realize I was staring until his gravelly broken English spoke up again.
“The hell are you staring at. Who are you?” His voice came out just as terrifying as before, but he relaxed his grip when I jumped back at his tone.
Heat spread through my cheeks, I was ashamed I was showing such weakness in front of him. I wanted to be confident, especially with a man who looked like him.
I tried to sound confident.
“I’m Y/n L/n, I’m Noel and Mirios niece.” I said, feigning any semblance of a steady voice.
“That’s funny cause last time I checked, Mirio didn’t have a niece.” He deadpanned.
Damnit, I was hoping maybe throwing around titles would get him to get off my case a little. I just wanted to stand with Ochako and wait for the race to start, maybe have her tell me a little bit more about how all this works.
“Well technically, no. I’m actually just Noel's niece but Mirio did tell me to call him uncle, so I’d assume he would be okay with me telling you that. Although this is my first race, so I’m not really sure how or what to..,” I trailed off when one of the guys in a lawn chair whipped around and stared directly at me, obviously overhearing my statement about this being my first race. “Oh no, I wasn’t supposed to say that.”
Bakugou was standing in front of me, brows furrowed in annoyance and confusion. He was looking at me like I had sprouted a second head, and it was making me uncomfortable.
 “What?” I directed at him.
“For someone so damn shy, you ramble like an idiot.” He said flatly. At least he was no longer arguing about my identity.
He turned his body slowly, completely losing interest in me and walking back to his car I somehow missed noticing at the front of the lined up cars.
“Oi. Who brought this Nav hoe over here? Someone get her away from the cars.” He yelled over his shoulder.
“Kaachan!” My head whipped to Deku, who stood from the ground, “Don’t talk to her like that, what if she’s actually Mirio’s niece? And you heard what she said. This is her first race.” He yelled back, the deep baritone intimidating, but leaving Bakugou unphased as he kept walking.
“Shut up you damn nerd.”
“Thank you Deku, but I can handle this.” I planted my hands on my hips. There were a lot of things I’d take from people, but degradation wasn’t one of them. My mom taught me that at least.
“You can stomp around having a hissy fit like a child all you’d like Bakugou, but I was invited over here by Ochako and you don’t even know me. So don’t stand there and call me names like you do.” I was huffing in anger when I finished, but quickly calmed down. Immediately embarrassed by my outburst as I noticed every single one of the West side Riders were staring at me, jaws unhinged.
I was a little shaken when I noticed Bakugou had stopped walking midstep, hands clenched tightly at his sides.
Oh my, I think I’m in trouble.
“Hey hey hey, everyone just calm down now. Y/n was it? Hi sweetie,” The yellow haired man from the lawn chair did an awkward walk run to place himself next to me. “I’m Denki Kaminari, hope this isn’t a bad time or anything, hah, but did hear you say…this is your first race?” He threw his arm over my shoulder, with a wicked smirk on his face.
Shit, I thought we were past that and that no one noticed.
“DAMMIT YOU DUNCE FACE.” Bakugou's loud yell brought me back to reality as the third degree was taken from me and placed on Denki.
The other guy in the lawn chair let out a loud laugh, assuming this was the Shinsou Ochako was talking about, I pushed down a smirk when I put together that Denki must catch a lot of crap from Bakugou.
“What? Why does that matter?” I asked the man still leaning on me.
“Shut the hell up Denki, I swear to god.” Bakugou said, and Denki’s wicked smirk turned into a shit eating grin.
Shinsou was full on laughing now, doubled over in fits of laughter at Bakugou’s expense.
“Because little flower, if you are who you say you are, that means you’ll be Bakugou’s Navigator tonight.” Denki’s eyes weren’t on me when he said it, they were on Bakugou. I was happy for it, because while the details didn’t make sense, the statement did. There was no way I wanted to be trapped in the car with an angry porcupine for however long it took to finish a race.
“No she’s not.” Bakuhou’s gravelly voice strained out through his gritted teeth. He was facing us now, sharp features twisted up in anger and looking like he wanted to hit Denki.
I looked at the others, Kiri was openly laughing now, Shinsou has been a mess of laughter since before the spat started, and Ochako and Deku had their faces turned away, mouths covered by hands, and chest heaving in silent giggles.
“Yes she is, you’re the only available squad leader,” Denki stated, before sucking his teeth loudly and checking his nails. His eyes shot back to Bakugou. “That is, unless you want me to get Tenya on the phone and tell him he needs to come fulfill the duty as a squad leader. That’ll do just fine won’t it? Leave this adorable, defenseless flower in the hands of Tenya?”
I didn’t know what Denki said in the second half of his rant, but it seemed serious enough that everyone, even Shinsou, stopped laughing. All eyes were turned to Bakugou.
I thought for a second I saw his cold exterior drop and a look of panic flash across his widened eyes. But it was gone so fast I thought I imagined it.
Everyone stood in tense silence for a second, while I wondered what was going on. It was starting to grate on my nerves how much I was actually left out of simply because I didn’t understand most of their language. It was my own fault, and I’d remember to pester Noel about it until she taught me a few words and phrases.
Bakugou’s shoulders visibly slumped out of the corner of my eye. I turned to look at him, his head still held high but the look of reluctant defeat across painted his features.
“Fine. She can come,” he paused, pointing a finger at me and holding my eyes. “I want you and your gear ready before this race is even finished. When the winner is announced go back to East wall and stay there until I come get you. I’m going to prep until the second round. Don’t bother me.” With his final annoyed statement, Bakugou opened the door of his sleek orange car, shooting me one last look of disdain, got in and left.
Bending down to put my hands on my knees I finally let myself breath normally. Relieved I could have a moment away from Bakugou’s heavy personality.
I felt a hand rub circles on my back before looking up at Ochako.
“I’m sorry, I really should have warned you before I brought you over here. I didn’t think he’d be happy, but I really didn’t think he’d call you names.” She said, apologizing genuinely.
“I honestly can’t believe he caved, I guess all you really gotta do is throw around the boss’s name and he backs off that attitude of his.” Denki piped up from behind Ochako, retreating back to his lawn chair.
“I really wouldn’t push him too far next time Denki. Sure he relents for the boss, but he has limits. You know he doesn’t like having a Navigator.” Kirishima said, injecting himself. His tone sounded scolding and disappointed. I’d be lying if I said it almost made me want to try to cheer him up.
 “That’s enough.” Deku commanded.
“Hey, it’s not my fault that bitch left him for-.”
“DENKI. I said that’s enough,” Deku’s firm voice cut over Denki’s antagonizing one. “Kirishima, go check on him and make sure he's okay. Denki shut the hell up from now on.”
Without a word Kirishima pocketed his phone and in one smooth motion got in his car. Within a second he was gone too, all that was left was Ochako and I, Deku and the two bumble heads in the lawn chair.
I felt really bad. That could have gone way better than what it did, and now I have to try and Navigate for Bakugou. Jesus, how am I supposed to tell Noel and Mirio.
“Izu, I’m gonna go help get Y/n ready and then we are going to go watch the start of the race. I have my phone if you need me.” She yelled in Deku’s general direction to which he replied with a flick of his wrist practically dismissing her. I caught the look of surprise on her face, and watched it melt into anger.
Lord have mercy on that man's soul for later.
“Alright Y/n, lets go get your equipment, and I’ll give you a few pointers.” She smiled back at me, warming my soul and easing some of my anxiety.
Maybe this wouldn’t be that bad.
—————————————————
  It definitely was that bad.
Round one just ended and Mirio won, I guess people bet on these things, earning Mirio a lot of money. I remembered leaning over the edge of the hip high wall of the parking deck, looking down over the road trying to spot the obnoxious yellow vehicle through the maze of buildings and sidewalks.
My breath caught as the previously mentioned car shot around the corner in a wide arc and straightened out only to move so fast I could hardly see them. The next thing I knew a yellow flare was being shot into the sky and Mirio was being announced the winner.
Which lead me to right now.
Mirio had just backed into his parking spot, and Noel was cheering about how fast he went in the straight shot.
The thought brought me back to Ochakos mini lesson, ‘A straight shot is a part of the track where there are no turns, not even any curves. Drivers can make up the time they lost trying to drift around curves because they can’t go as fast. Now I’m going to show you a little secret...’.
I was trying to memorize it in my head when Noel caught my attention.
“What’s that stuff for honey, we were only racing once tonight. I don’t need another set.” She said, her brow furrowed in confusion.
“Well you see, I uhh- ImetagirlnamedOchakoandshewantedmetomeethersquadsoIdidandthenImetBakugouandIaccidentlyspilledaboutthisbeingmyfirstraceandnowIhavetoNavigatrforhim.” I was breathing heavy when I was done, and Noel planted her hands on her hips.
“I can’t fucking believe this, I’m sorry you what?” She demanded.
“All I’m saying is I see why you wanted me to say this wasn’t my first race. Now I have navigate for the angriest man at this stupid meet. Is there any way out of this?” I said while pleading with my eyes.
“Mirio.” She shot over her shoulder.
Said man, turned to look around and abruptly left the conversation he was having next to his car.
 “Yes baby?”
“Tell him what you just told me.”
“Uhg. I accidentally may have let slip that this is my first race to the west side team. Now I have to Navigate for Bakugou.” I was getting tired of repeating myself, I wanted answers.
“Well I suppose it could be worse. It could be Teny-.”
“Mirio!” Noel slapped his arm.
He sighed before starting.  “I’m sorry little chick, there isn’t anything I can do. You technically are a part of the East side Riders now as long as Noel and I are together. Even if you don’t race, all family members are a part of it. It’s tradition. New members are initiated by Navigating for a different side's squad leader. It’s meant to be that way so a third person party can tell if the person is worthy of joining.
This may seem like fun and games, and most of these people are irrelevant. But every person here who is on a squad has to either be ready to drive or navigate at a moment's notice. Usually under more stressful circumstances, but we won’t get into that. The reason you have to ride with Bakugou is because he is the only squad leader available without a permanent Navigator. I have Noel, and Monoma has Kendo. The south side is out of the question.” He shrugged as he finished.
That was a lot to process. Does that mean I’ll be a part of a gang or something? Jesus. What did I get myself into. All I wanted to do was have a few drinks and go fast in a car and now look.
My god I’m a train wreck, and my stomach was clenching with every passing second.
The gong sounded, and the announcer's voice sounded off through the speakers again.
“Gear up, round two starts in ten minutes!” It sounded like he was screaming, but I couldn’t really tell with blood rushing in my ears.
Noel has the bridge of her nose pinched between her fingers, her foot tapping on the floor. When she finally huffed and looked at me, I made it a point to look at anything that wasn’t directly back into her piercing cat like eyes.
“Look at me,” I finally relented, and snapped my sight directly back at hers. “If you get hurt in any way, psychically, emotionally, shit even if he hurts your feelings. I’ll kill him.”
As if on cue, the rumble of a motor popped over the bump in the entrance and maneuvered it’s way around the sea of cars. I didn’t have to look over my shoulder to know it was a burnt orange sports car with a fuming blonde in the drivers seat as the tires came to a screeching halt behind me.
“Get in.” Bakugou’s deep raspy English left no room for argument.
Noel nodded after me before reaching out to wrap me in a hug. I returned it thankfully.
“You’ll do great.” She whispered in my ear before releasing me.
I counted to ten before turning around taking a few steps to Bakugou’s passenger door. I looked through the windshield at the headrest only to find it bare, and sighed in relief. I was putting things together in my head, and as far as I could tell, some stitching on the headrest indicated a person belongs there. Permanently. And if it’s not your name, it’s not you.
Man this is the worst walk of shame I’ve ever taken, and it didn’t help that Bakugou kept his eyes on me the entire time.
I finally pulled open the door, standing back when I remembered the car doors opened up and not out. I slid in, taking in the interior of the car. It was leather, like real leather. It felt warm and nice on the exposed skin of my back between my crop top and jeans. I could feel there was no cushion though, probably just leather stretched over hard plastic meant to keep the bucket seat stable at high speeds. The color scheme was hunter green and orange with neons under his dash, lighting up the floorboards.
I didn’t know much about cars but I knew enough to know that this car probably cost a lot of money. Whether he built it or bought it I had no idea, but either way it was a fortune. The dash displayed a screen bigger than a computer, and when I looked behind me there was no back seat, just six nondescript silver tanks. All neatly stacked in racks with hoses coming out of the tops and disappearing into the floorboard.
“Shut the damn door.” Bakugou snapped at me, pulling me out of my inspection.
I jumped when he spoke but quickly regained composure and reached for the door handle.
“Tch. Not like that.” He reached across me brushing his arm against my collarbone and pressed a button on the side of the dash. I turned my face to the side to try and hide the glowing red that creeped up my neck while the door started closing automatically. When the door finally closed my blush burned hotter as I got a face full of what the inside of his car smelled like.
Heavenly. A perfect mix of sweet and spicy. Sandalwood, and gasoline. And something sweet. Was that..
Burnt sugar?
Whatever it was, the smell mixed together in my nose fogging my brain.
Without moving out of the way for other people in case they needed to get through, he pressed his foot down on the third pedal beneath the dash and shook the shifter in the middle before reaching behind my seat, obviously trying to find something.
I stifled a giggle unsuccessfully when I caught sight of his shift knob. It was short, sunk down further into the center console compared to Mirio’s which sat higher. I was giggling though, because the shift knob was a grenade.
 “Something funny?” Another short jab.
“No no, I was just admiring the shifter.”
“What, you don’t like it?”
“No I do, I was just thinking that’s a very Bakugou thing to have.” I replied.
“And what the hell is that supposed to mean? I can’t fucking do this.” He growled out the last part in Japanese, thoroughly confusing me and shutting me up.
Something for the second time tonight landed in my lap, the familiar straps indicating it was a seatbelt. Or, more accurately, a harness.
“You have two minutes to attach that to the seat and put it on, after that we are going and you don’t want to be out of a seat belt for the exit.” The last part sounded more like a threat than anything else and it sparked my limbs into moving.
He didn’t think I could do it, well I’d show him.
But after a minute I realized the slots were different than the ones Mirio had, and instead of five points there were eight points of attachment. I fumbled to try and get them into the slots when I finally figured out how they went in. It wasn’t the most comfortable sitting arrangement known to man, sitting practically backwards and trying to fanangle the small silver pieces into their designated holes but I refused to ask the hotheaded blonde for help.
Thinking about him caused my eyes to unconsciously shoot in his direction, he had a look of annoyance on his face and if you squinted hard enough you could almost see amusement.
A sadist through and through. Gaining amusement out of my struggling.
Finally I had the damn thing in place, and when I went to sit down back in the seat I heard a thump from the inside of the car on Bakugou’s side.
Pulling the harness in place, and finally clicking the last buckle together I looked up to find Mirio leaning against the door and looking into Bakugou’s car.
Bakugou kept his face and eyes straight, almost like he refused to make eye contact.
“Are you all strapped in little chick?” Mirio had his signature smile while he addressed me with his new nickname. I actually like it, cute but at the same time platonic.
“Yup.” I replied with a smile of my own, trying to ease his tension and my own with the false pretense.
“Got all your equipment?” He asked, but this time his face was pointed in Bakugou’s direction. His eyes held a glare, but he kept his voice light as he spoke to me.
“Yup look!” I reached down to the floor showing Mirio all my stuff. I was pretending at first, but this time around it was genuine.
“Good. Have fun little chick. Don’t get hurt okay, your aunt will kill me.” He waved, and Bakugou revved his engine clearly ready to go.
Bakugou was about to take off when just as he was about to put it in first gear to leave Mirio grabbed the steering wheel and leaned down, invading Bakugou’s personal space.
“If anything, and I really mean anything happens to her, I’ll string you to the side of the building and count the seconds till you stop breathing. You hear me?” Mirio’s voice changed when he changed languages, his tone was dark and menacing as he spat the words out.
Bakugou revved the engine again, visibly clenching the grenade shifter harder.
“Loud and clear.” The Japanese words his only reply before he slammed the car in first gear and took off towards the exit.

Chapter 1 Chapter 2 Chapter 3 Chapter 4 Chapter 5 Chapter 6 Chapter 7
________________________________________________________________
Chapter 8
Waking up to the blaring sound of an alarm wasn’t the best but I could have woken up worse. Throwing my arm out of the warm soft covers I turned off the alarm and closed my eyes for a second sighing then throwing myself from the bed. I wasn’t a morning person, I never was and I never will be. I walked to my bathroom letting out another sigh as I removed my clothes placing them in the hamper before moving into the shower. It was warm and my muscles instantly began to relax, a week with my class non-stop. A whole week, this was going to be long but I knew I was going to have a lot of fun.
Washing my body and hair, I left the shower making sure to step on the rug and not the tiled floor having fallen far too many times to not be careful. I placed my hair in a towel cage. Flipping my head down, placing the towel over my head and twirling the fabric before flipping it back over my head. Hair drying and out of my face it’s was a win-win. I stretched and looked over my bag one last time making sure to pack the extra, extra charger for Todoroki.
I knew I had to get dressed but I just didn’t want to, I didn’t want to get dressed or move. I was tired and needed more sleep even though I had gotten more than the recommended amount. Shaking my head and slapping my face lightly I nodded and began to get ready.
I got dressed and was thankful for button shirts as my hair could stay in the towel and dry for a little while longer waiting until I took the towel off to throw on the jumper. I made sure to look at my bag again, I had everything I knew I had everything but the fear of forgetting something was a lot to take. I shook my head. I’m sure someone would let me borrow something if I desperately needed it. I wasn’t worried. I was excited. I moved to take my headphones off charge placing the charger in and then rolling my eyes making my way back into the bathroom and placing all my toiletries in the travel bag than in my bag. Now I was sure I was ready. I was confused about why we had to wear our uniforms but I didn’t question it.
I walked downstairs with my suitcase and then looked to my mum saying I was ready. It took more effort then I would ever admit to putting my suitcase in the car but that was for another time. Finally sitting down we began the drive to school.
“Message me on your way back, hopefully, we will be home but if not you can call Lacy” Lacy who was mums butler per se. I had never asked her for a thing but I might ask for a lift home after the camp. I nodded. “Do you have everything or do I need to stop” there was the tone I had been missing for the past couple days.
“I have everything” I nodded and then the car ride was silent. Driving in the parking lot I could see a bunch of my friends and the other class, I forgot they were coming. Getting out I moved to the boot and grabbed my suitcase. “Bye Mum” I called out from the boot and got a quick reply and then she was off. I walked over to the group and Aizawa began to talk, I made it just in time.
“Now that you are finished up your first semester at UA high. It’s time for summer vacation to finally begin” I was pulling at my hair still slightly damp from the shower I had taken that morning. It wasn’t dripping onto the jumper so I was happy with it. “However, don’t think these will be months of rest for you heroes in the making” why was he always so serious, it made me on edge and scared for whenever he spoke. “This camp will be to push you beyond your limits” I wanted to but in saying he already had with my exam but a swift bite of my lip and I was silenced. “You’re aiming to become plus ultra” then we were waiting to leave.
I sighed and felt my hair again, I hoped it would dry but I knew it was only bothering me because I was thinking about it. I stood with a few other people talking about my suitcase having been put on the bus by someone I had never seen before. I was excited and nervous all at once. I watched as Kaminari and Mina left the conversation to dance with a red-faced Uraraka clapping for camp. They all looked so excited.
“I heard some of class A has to take extra courses. Does that mean they failed the final exams, that would be so embarrassing? Especially because you are meant to be so much better than my class. All of you must be waddling in shame” the blonde boy from 1-B shouted his eyes wide and voice loud. I seriously didn’t like him, he really had a problem but he fell to the ground with one hit upside the head from Kendo and he was out. He didn’t like my class but...there was no but, he was just rude.
She picked him up with ease by his collar “Don’t mind him” he was then dragged towards the bus and I wondered how many hours a day he was knocked out on average I would be quite interested in the outcome.
“Oh the rest of class B” Midoriya smiled and I turned to see some familiar faces looking back at me. I couldn’t see any distaste or anger when I met their eyes so I didn’t look away but I was nervous.
“It’s nice to see you outside the sports festival” her eyes were so wide and she had this smirk on her face but from no one batting an eye I figured that was just her personality "I guess now we’re not technically rivals” I don’t think Monoma got that memo. I saw a few nods and I smiled to the class.
“Time to get on the bus” Kendo called out from the door, I wasn’t sure if she was the class Rep but I knew whatever she said everyone listened too. Like a big sister, though I liked it. The class had someone they trusted and always looked too. Everyone in class B began to board and I looked to my class if we were meant to follow.
Though my thoughts were short-lived “Attention Class A our bus is here” Iidas’ arms were moving frantically his face stern and serious. “Line up in seating order” we all boarded and I moved to where I was meant to be sitting down and then looking out the window.
“I am seated with you, I think” I turned to see Todoroki and then sat down with me next to him. The lords are blessing me once again. He was so graceful as he sat down, not even making a sound.
“I brought the charger” I smiled and he spoke a quick ‘thank you’ as he proceeded to explain he lost track of time with his Mum “Don’t mention it, I stress so I would have had a spare even if you didn’t ask me beforehand” I laughed and he smiled, it was so small but I caught it, or did I imagine it.
We began to drive off, I wondered how long a trip it would be to the destination “Listen up, you’ll be on this bus about an hour before our first stop” it seemed all my questions were having immediate responses today. “Make sure you stay focused” Aizawa was one of the most serious people I had ever met.
“Why aren’t we blasting some music” of course it was Kaminari to say something like that. I was laughing lightly at the comment. I looked behind Todoroki and I and saw Bakugou and Tokoyami then in front was Tsu and Uraraka.
“No one should be standing that is a safety hazard, please remain seated” A definitely standing and angry or more so worried Iida yelled. I don’t think one person cared for what Aizawa had said or they just chose to ignore it. “Do not open that window” I laughed again quietly.
The journey may have only been an hour but it was far too long for my back on the uncomfortable seats. I had filled the time talking to Todoroki, just about anything and everything. Showing him things on my phone and him doing the same. We talked and it felt so natural and easy to talk to him. We talked until we were told to get off where he moved to let me out first, I made sure to thank him. When getting off I held my skirt jumping down off the rather high last step of the bus and sighed out walking forward into the group then moving to stand with Todoroki again.
“Finally, I needed to get off that bus” I agreed with Kaminari, it was an hour but a long hour. I didn’t regret it though, I got to talk to Todoroki for an hour which was by far a bonus in my books. Mineta cried about having to go to the bathroom though from what I could see we were just on the side of the road.
“You didn’t think we stopped here so you could stretch your legs did you” I turned seeing Aizawa, hands in his pockets and leaning back in a lazy stance like he was built to just standstill. Mineta stood in front of him begging to be able to go to the bathroom.
Then the door to the mysterious random car opened “Hey Eraser” so they knew Aizawa and judging by his lack of care, we weren’t in danger. Aizawa bowed and commented that it had been quite a while since he had seen the person still in the car. Then two girls jumped out one wearing pink and the other blue. Dressed in cat costumes. “You’re feline fantasies are here”
“Purfectly cute and cat-like girls” I mean they weren’t wrong they did have the whole look going for them. I was confused, this is why we had stopped for a few girls to just jump around in front of us.
“You can call us the wild, wild pussy cats” they finished their little routine and posed with a smaller boy standing next to them. They sure were confident and loud, I’m sure Mic would get along with them quite well. Though the class stood in silence.
“These are the Pro heroes you’ll be working with for summer training camp” I didn’t doubt they were heroes but they did scare me. I wasn’t a fan of overly loud people… I was a fan of one overly loud person. They, on the other hand, were a bit too much for my liking.
“They are a four-person hero team that specialises in mountain rescues. The pussy cats were founded when we were kids” I saw the two women stumble at his words, they didn’t like their age being mentioned. “Like forever ago” another hit to the ego. “This marks their twelfth year working as-” Midoriya was fanboying again, eyes wide with a matching smile though he was cut off by a hand, paw, to the face.
“I’m pretty sure your mouth must be off” I was right, they were sensitive about their age. It was the blue one who had a problem and I stepped slightly closer to Todoroki being a little scared of the women. “I’m eighteen at heart” of course she was.
We all collectively bowed and said our Hellos as of Aizawa's request. I was confused about why we had stopped if they were going to be our guides for the next week. I didn’t understand why we couldn’t meet them at camp. Though I didn’t voice my questions opting for just standing with Todoroki.
“We own this whole stretch of land, everything you can see” I was impressed, to say the least, it was a lot of land they owned not to mention how dense the forest was. It was the pink one talking, she seemed kind and loving “The camp you're staying at is there, at the base of the mountain” her voice was so calm as she simply pointed out into the area she owned.
It was quite far, I tilted my head in confusion. Why were we here then? “Uh, why did we stop all the way up here instead?” Uraraka asked Tsu to turn to face her friend. She voiced all our thoughts and I was grateful not even wanting to speak with the blue cat still on a rampage.
“I’m afraid we both know the answer to that” was I missing something? Had I not read something or was I not listening? I looked around and saw a few people shaking their heads in disbelief.
“That can’t be right,” Sato said slowly his head shaking, what was I missing. I looked out, we were on the side of a mountain. What were we going to do from here? Like sure it was nice to see where we would be staying but weren’t we just wasting time.
“Ok, back on the bus” Sero whispered his voice shaky and nervous. “Let’s go” wait, no they couldn’t be serious. I was reading this wrong, I had to be. Sero slowly turned to the bus as did a few others as we all agreed.
“The current time is nine-thirty in the morning” why was she mentioning the time. I was losing my mind, this couldn’t be real right? I felt my heart speed, why was time mentioned. “If you’re fast about it, you might make it there by noon” she smiled her tail slowly waving behind her. They weren’t going to make us walk there, were they?
I watched as everyone began to run to the bus in a panic, I just stayed still. If they wanted this to happen, we weren’t getting a choice about it. Sure I was angry but a simple bridge to the camp, we’d be there within the hour. It was easy, annoying but easy nonetheless.
“Kitties that don’t make it there by twelve don’t get any lunch” she called out and I sighed looking to my fellow peers running, or at least making a break for the bus. I walked over a little more so I could see them.
“You should have guessed students” Aizawa began his voice monotone and easy to read, he didn’t care. He was changing his mind. “The training camp” the blue one dropped in front of the group a collective yell being heard. “Has already begun” just before anything happened I felt something clasp to my wrist. “You need to work on not having a quirk” I was confused and then I was being thrown off a mountain.
“I swear I’m going to kill you Aizawa” I screamed my body going flying through the air as I held my skirt down trying to have some form of decency why of course I wasn’t allowed my quirk, why would I? The teachers loved making my life difficult.
We were all falling, dirt coming with us, the blue one. The blue one could control dirt? Or at least something like that. I held down my skirt as I was falling, I couldn’t believe we had been thrown off a cliff. We all landed with a shout and some groans.
“Good news” I looked up at the pink cat, her smile genuine and wide as she leaned over the rails to view us. “This is private land so you can use your quirks as much as you want too” I stood quickly feeling rage boil inside me. “You have three full hours, you should be able to make it to the facility in that time” was she joking, was this some kind of sick joke? “That is if you can get through the beast forest” I walked over.
“What quirk” I yelled and held up my arm showing the bracelet “I don’t get my quirk, what kind of absolute bullshit is this'” I was furious. I didn’t like not having my quirk or at least being equal with my classmates. “Aizawa” I yelled and saw his face lean over, I dangled my arm in the air “Hello” I screamed.
“Your quirk would allow everyone to easily get through without so much as a thought. So I take the quirk you work on your physical abilities and the class gets to learn” he was smiling, I could hear the smirk in his voice as I steamed. Rage and anger boiling in my veins.
“No” I shook my head, “First the exam and now this. This isn’t fair” I yelled out, I knew my class was behind me. I knew they could see me losing my mind. I was so angry, why could I not just be treated like the rest of them.
“Your quirk is unfair” he shrugged...shrugged. He just shrugged it off! My hands were shaking as I had so many thoughts running through my head. I was so mad as I gripped my head in anger.
I didn’t answer turning and watched as Mineta ran into the woods, he needed a bathroom. Though with the sound of a growl I looked up seeing a forest monster of sorts, big root teeth and arms as thick as logs. I heard a few screams but I was running.
I was so angry that my quirk had been taken I jumped high into the air and growled as I came crashing down onto the creatures head my foot landing and splitting the wood and dirt. I landed and looked back up the teachers “Fuck your forest” I screamed and then I was off again walking deeper into the woods with the class following.
“Y/N are you ok” I turned to see Midoriya and I knew everyone was watching me as I continued to walk, my footfalls loud and deep. Anyone could see I was angry, I was so angry.
“Do I look ok” I glared at the green-headed teen and he shook his head “There’s your answer” I grit my teeth and clenched my fists. “I am going to destroy each and every one of these pathetic little monsters and then when I get to camp I am going to lose my shit” I finished. “These monsters are just dirt, the blues quirk” I added.
We walked through the woods and slowly more and more began to appear, the next one was flying. Of course, this was going to be difficult. Why wouldn’t it be? We were working together to kill as many as possible.
“Seven in total, they’re coming” Jiro called out as I jumped from tree to tree. I jumped onto a flying one, digging my hand into the wing and pulling back, breaking it. The beast began to fall as I jumped not being crushed with it. I walked over and slammed my foot down into the creature it didn’t get back up.
Sato and Kirishima beat one while Dark Shadow and Ojiro took down another one. Mineta was running as well but Kaminari had used far too much electricity and his brain short-circuiting due to the intensity. I ran and picked him up before he was hit again. Iida kicked one, how many of these things were there? I was running with Kaminari, he was quite light. Toru was good at luring the monsters to set locations so the others could attack. Mina throwing acid on the legs making them fall. I could have ended this fight so quickly but no I wasn’t allowed my quirk. I placed down Kaminari with Shoji and I was off again trying to pull off the bracelet, it didn’t work.
I was fighting one, my mind clear and body fast as I ran through the legs and jumped on it’s back running up the back “Bakugou” I called out and kicked the creatures head forward making the weak spot on top of the head seeable. A yell and an explosion the creature was pieces. I fell through the air holding my skirt as I landed. “No quirk no fucking pants” I cursed.
Momo had made a canon and was blasting the creature while Tsu and Uraraka were working together by just throwing them in the air with zero gravity and then making them crash into the ground harshly. I watched as Bakugou continued to explode things. He seemed very happy. I continued to run as one followed me. There were more than seven now, there had to be.
“Ojiro, Tokoyami '' I called out and then ducked skidding along with my knees beneath a large branch as the creature got caught and then was destroyed by the two of them. “Thanks,” I called out.
“No problem” I heard in response and I was off again, running and jumping through the tree and ground. Dodging the creatures moved and their domino effect in the forest. I had to not get hurt. My knees were covered in dirt and I was sure my clothes were too.
Todoroki and Bakugou were working together. Ice slid along the ground rising and covering the legs and torsos of the monster then while they were stopped Bakugou came in with devastating blows. Exploding the dirt and smoke being created. They were flawless, I ran past jumping up to land the final blow, a kick to the top of the head as my leg fell all the way through as I landed on the ground crouching. Then Todoroki and Bakugou were running with me.
There were so many of them. She could make them quickly I could at least give her that but by the time we thought we were almost to the camp the sun was setting. Anger was boiling through my body. I was covered in dirt. I was flung into the air with my ass on full display as I went to cover myself I was going to be hit but was caught by none other than Bakugou. Who had given me quite a bit of a tongue lashing with flushed cheeks?
When we saw the ‘clearing’ I was on a march. Half the people could barely stand, we were holding each other up. What kind of bullshit was this, on the first day? We hadn’t even made it to the camp! Todoroki was shivering, Bakugou holding his arm, Iida not even able to use one of his legs, Kaminari was out of power. Everyone was like this, I was tired, exhausted. I hadn’t been able to use my quirk which could have helped my friends.
“I hope you are happy” I called out anger dripping from my lips as I walked out of the treeline my peers following “Do you have any idea how hard that was with no quirk” I threw my hands out in anger. “But no, who cares about Y/N she’s so strong and can do it” I made a digging motion with one hand. “Take this stupid bracelet off me this second” I was in front of Aizawa now.
“You said that would only take like three hours” Sero gasped out. He was right, they had said that. Aizawa moved forward to unlock the bracelet, he was smirking at me. I was so mad.
“I guessed we based it on how long it would take us, sorry” that’s all we got. A weak apology and a smile. We had fought our guts out and all we got was a sorry. I was shaking as Aizawa finally managed to get the bracelet off me.
“You were too strong for this exercise. Your peers need to catch up” I understood why he did it but it was unfair to throw me into a beast infested forest with no quirk and no heads up. I walked away back to the group rubbing my wrist.
“I thought it would take you kids even longer” it was the blue one, her paws over her mouth. It was her quirk we were fighting, a good quirk but I wanted to throw her off a cliff. “But you did a lot better against my dirt monsters then I thought you would” she smiled her voice light and high pitched, she had to be kidding? Was she doing this now, while we were all on the verge of collapsing? “You guys were seriously great, especially the five of you” she pointed to Iida, Mirdoriya, Todoroki, Bakugou and I. “It seems like you’ve had quite a bit of experience and the girl. Even without a quirk you still did some damage” Some? I did quite a bit of damage, I had my quirk back. I could do a lot more. "I call dibs on these kittens. I’ll groom them myself"
She came lunging at us and I simply put her in a box “I’m fine, thank you” I whispered out and raised my hand into the sky as the box began to float. I could feel her trying to get out “Much better” I sighed.
Midoriya pointed out the little boy that had been with the two women all day, I had noticed him but didn’t care for children. I hated children, disgusting little things. “Oh he’s my cousin's son, he just lives with us now. Don’t be shy Kota, say hi to everyone. You’re going to be around them for the next week”
“Y/N let her go” I sighed and dropped her from the sky, her tail spiked and she landed looking back to me with a scowl I glared back uninterested. Midoriya walked over to the small boy who seemed rather angry at the world.
“Hi, my name is Midoriya.” Why was he trying to make friends with the child? I grimaced and a shiver ran through my body at the mere thought of talking to a child. “I’m from the UA highschool hero course, it’s nice to meet you” his hand was outstretched but Midoriya wasn’t met with a light or gentle handshake but a hard and powerful punch to his lower regions. He fell. I think I saw his soul leave him.
Iida was running over within a second “What a low blow” I laughed silently, he wasn’t wrong. The blow was quite low. Iida managed to catch the falling boy in his arms “You fiend of a child” just another thing to add to the list of why I hated children. “A punch to the scrotum is unforgivable” I could imagine.
“The last thing I want is to hang with some wannabe heroes” my face fell, he seemed to be angry. Teeth grit and eyes flared. Something had happened, no one hated with so much passion for no reason.
“I can put him in a box” I swirled my hand mist falling from my skin like ink onto the ground. I had no shame just locking him inside a little endless prison for a few hours, days.
“No” I heard Aizawa and let my quirk fade “We are not doing that” I could hear Iida still yelling as I sighed and looked away shrugged. “He’s just a kid” I didn’t care if he was eighty or eight he was being rude.
“That brats got spunk” Bakugou smiled to the little human as I shook my head. He seems too proud of the little boy, I looked to the fallen Midoriya and realised this little kid was probably his favourite person right now.
“He’s like a mini version of you” I turned to hear Todoroki, he had a point though. The kid did act like Bakugou in a way, a more immature Bakugou. I wondered what the two of them were like as kids. Would we have gotten along? They were the only children I would have been able to handle.
“What are you talking about” Todoroki has made him mad again, Bakugou was storming over to the duel haired hero in training with a bounce in his step, a bounce ready to crush the other's skull. “Shut your mouth before I blast you all the way to hell” he was offended but if he liked the child I didn’t see why he was acting this way, I thought it could have been a compliment.
“Yeah sure” Todoroki had simply stated as I walked over and pushed them away from each other with a shake of my head. It wasn’t worth it, not while we were all so tired. Also, I didn’t care for their little conversation about the kid, he was a rude little shit. I only had room for one in my life and that position was filled.
“Enough playing around, get your stuff off the bus” they hadn’t even done us the courtesy of taking our things in. They had plenty of time to do it. “Once your bags are in your rooms, we will have dinner in the cafeteria. After that, you can bathe and sleep” the last two options were looking appealing right now. I would happily skip dinner to bathe now and sleep. “Tomorrow your training starts in earnest, better get a move on”
We all walked towards the bus and I could see everyone struggling. I did love my class and they had helped me out all day. I walked in front of them all bending down to open the hatch. “Thank you for helping me today” I whispered and I made a little illusion for everyone. Getting all their bags “You just have to get the copy to your rooms”
“Thank you” I was engulfed in a hug by Mina who was crying and rubbing her face into my shoulder in thanks. I pet her hand as an illusion walked over and helped her in ‘my’ arms as she cried.
“Y/N you are honestly a goddess” Kirishima bowed and I flushed waving my hand in dismissal. I was just doing something nice, they deserved it after today and these illusions took next to no effort for me. They were easy, I had been making them since I was a young one.
“It’s thanks for dealing with me being in a bad mood all day” I looked up and could see the thankful looks from everyone as a copy followed them holding their things as we walked into the building. I saw the boys sigh in defeat as we got to the crossroads “The illusion will stay, no need to worry” then the sighs of relief.
Placing everyone's things in the room the illusion would bow and then fall into mist as I helped the girls move their things into their rooms and places they wanted them. I was thanked the whole time and waved it off. Making our way to the cafeteria we all sat down and said our thanks and began to eat. It was good, more than good. It was perfect.
I ate slowly not having much of an appetite from the exams, I sat next to Bakugou or more so Bakugou had taken the seat next to me. I smiled that he wanted to sit with me. My other side was then occupied by Todoroki who was more than interested in the food. I saw Kirishima just shovelling rice into his mouth, he wasn’t chewing, I watched more. Not chewing, there was no way.
Bakugou was doing the same and Todoroki was following, slower but just as eager. I ate slowly not eating too much, just enough to fill me. I knew I was getting a few looks but I didn’t care. The beef was nice and had a nice seasoning. I grabbed another piece of a plate and within one bite I moved to pick up the little plate and put it in front of Bakugou who took a piece and then took the plate. It was spicy.
“This is amazing” he nodded and added it into his rice, no one else was eating it so I’m sure he could eat the rest of it with no issues. I turned and saw Todoroki looking for the water with his glass in hand and a jug was placed in front of him the illusion falling from stealing it from another table.
“Thank you” he whispered and drank down his water, sighing out happily in contempt. I had finished eating and offered my leftover rice to the still eating Bakugou who didn’t hesitate to take the bowl and continue eating.
Once everyone was done it was time for the bath, I was more than excited to sit and soak in a nice hot bath. I was walking slowly my head lolling to the side as I walked with the girls. Once in the room I grabbed anything I would or could need and I was off to the bath. I walked in happily my head beginning to clear with all the steam.
Everyone was getting undressed as I looked down, I had never been one to get nude in front of people, sure I had been in changing rooms but never fully naked, I took to the stalls most of the time. I set up an illusion to cover myself as I walked out of the bath. I could see the confused faces but no one said anything. Stepping into the bath, so hot and sending a nice shiver up my body. I dropped into the water, it came up to my waist, I walked forward and let the water slowly rise to my chest. The rest of the girls came in and we all sat around a rock. I lowered myself so only my head was out of the water and let the illusion fade the water full of different healing properties making it not clear.
“This feels amazing” Mina called out her voice happy as she moved to sit on the rock we were all crowded around. I nodded in agreement, the hot spring was lovely and just what my muscles desired after the day I had had.
“You are to stop this at once Mineta. What you are doing is demeaning for both the girls and yourself” we all went silent at the loud voice of our class Rep and the seemingly hurried aquatic steps. What was going on over there? “It’s shameful behaviour” then it registered, Mineta was being a pervert as per usual. Why was he allowed within a hundred metres of any female I wasn’t sure.
I wasn’t sure what Mineta had responded but judging by the loud bangs slowly going up the wall, he was climbing. How in the fuck was he climbing a straight wall? His quirk, I shivered. They were getting closer and none of the girls seemed to be able to move.
“Get down here this instant” Iida once more, so he was climbing. I stood from the bath and sighed. I was tired, putting up my hands slowly I rose a wall around us. Mineta couldn’t look in.
“He needs to find a hobby” I whispered and dropped back into the water as the rest of the girls looked over. I could see a few of them eyeing my shoulder. I froze and then an illusion went over the scar, it was fine. They’d think it was a mistake.
“Before you become a hero, you should learn how to be a good human” I looked up and saw Kota at the top of the wall separating the girls and boys bathing areas. I let the illusion of us fall, as he pushed Mineta off the wall with a slap of his hand.
“I’ll get you for this” Mineta yelled and then there was a scream, I think he landed on someone. I sighed and sunk lower into the pool. This was a lot for my mental capacity to take right now. Why was he in the hero course?
“Mineta is the worst isn’t he” Tsu croaked out in a quick reply. I nodded into the water not wanting to verbally respond like a few other of the girls did. I still wasn’t a fan of the child but I inwardly thanked him for being there.
“Thanks so much, Kota-babe” Mina called out her arms rising to put thumbs up at the kid as she sat on the rock. We were all standing together and I watched as Mina smiled in thanks. “We owe you one” I didn’t owe him anything but I was thankful for him.
He turned and looked at us and within a split second, he was falling off the top of the wall. I sighed, I was sure one of the boys was going to catch him. Perhaps he had a quirk of his own.
“Lookout” I could hear the child being caught, I was right and it was none other than the green-headed Midoriya. See, the child was fine without my help. I just wanted to soak and then go to sleep.
We soaked for a while longer and then it was time to leave and head to bed. As I walked out of the bath I covered myself in mist and made my way into the building to grab my full body towel. Covering myself I sighed out and grabbed my things as I made my way back to the room. I could have gotten dressed there but I wanted to change in the comfort of my room or at least the shared room.
I walked down the hall and then into the room, opening my suitcase to grab my clothes and walked into the bathroom. I dried myself and got dressed, I was running on instinct and willpower at this point. Grabbing I pulled down the jumper over my pants and looked in the mirror. I wished I grabbed Bakugous, his jumper was a lot warmer than this one. I left the bathroom and got my bed ready for the night. The other girls were talking and having fun as I brought out all my chargers moving over to the wall to plug them in and remembered I hadn’t given Todoroki his charger.
“Hey guys” I called out and the conversation stopped as I bent down to retrieve the charger I had packed for him “I’m just going to give Todoroki a charger he asked me to bring for him” I stood my eyes falling and tired “If I’m not back in twenty” I paused and shook my head “Come save me from Mineta”
“You got it” Mina replied and a few others nodded with smiles as I did too. “We will come and find you” she put up her thumbs and bounced on her bed happily.
I bent down and got the PowerPoint I had bought and walked over handing it to the girls “Also I bought a PowerPoint so all of us could charge our phones. I didn’t expect there to be a lot of power points” I could see the love blossom in their eyes as I smiled and then left as I heard a chorus of thanks.
I walked through the building making my way to the boys' rooms. It wasn’t too late but I was on the verge of passing out as I'm sure many of them were too. It was an easy find and I could hear some chatter. I walked up to the door and knocked lightly thrice all conversation stopped.
“I’ll get it” Kirishima, he was always first to volunteer. I loved that we got along and that he was my friend. I heard quickened footfalls as the door was open and his face fell into one of confusion “Oh hey Y/N” he grew awkward “I thought you were Aizawa” I laughed as he moved from the doorway “Come in, how can we help you”
Everyone was looking at me in my large jumper, short shorts and shin-high dinosaur socks I flushed and looked away shaking my hands “Oh no, I’m just here for Todoroki” that sounded weird. I looked over and now all the boys were looking to the duel haired male who was rolling out his bed. “I brought the charger you texted about” I held up the cord and he was walking over.
“Oh, I forgot, thank you” his voice was smooth as I held out the cord “I could have gotten it in the morning” he answered, I shrugged and tilted my head with a light shake my head. “Thank you again Y/N”
“No issues but I’m going to go before I pass out” I heard a few laughs as I turned to leave “Night boys” I called over my shoulder to the room full of my class.
“Goodnight” It was all over the place and different voices chirping in all at once but I closed the door and began the walk back to my room. I loved my class with all my heart, they were so amazing and I couldn't’ ask for anything better.
The walk was short and once I was back in my room I smiled at the jokes the girls were making that I arrived safely. Not too long after were we heading to bed. Lights out and chargers on we all laid down and I was out within seconds.
