Being surrounded by five people in Avengers' tower was something that Y/N hadn't expected. He had been battling Kang with the others, when Kang tried to escape to the future. Y/N had followed him and ended up getting sucked into the portal.

He flew to Avengers' tower to see if anyone could help him and tell him what happened, but he didn't expect people to take up residency inside the tower. Especially when the blonde in purple spandex had an arrow notched at his chest.

"Listen, I don't know who you guys are, but I do know you came to the wrong place to take over. Get out now, and I might not have to kick your asses." Y/N warned.

"Wrong. This place belongs to the Young Avengers. You're the one who's trespassing, pal." Arrow guy said.

Y/N took a long look at them. The girl was wearing an Ironman suit like Tony's. The blonde had Steve's shield. The guy who looked like Bucky had a knife in his hand. And the other blonde, who looked like a golden retriever, was wearing purple spandex pants.

"Young Avengers? You guys are seriously messed up in the head. This is where the Avengers live. And you're making a big mistake."

"I don't think so." Golden retriever guy started to grow bigger and turned green as he looked similar to the Hulk. He let out a roar. The girl hovered over him, repulsors ready. "Stand down. Finally warning."

"Oh, this is gonna be fun." Y/N smiled as he moved the arrow away from him and moved as he ran and slammed the Hulk imposter through several walls of the tower as the others followed him.

A JOSS WHEDON HATER FOREVER- a think piece on how Avengers 1 set up Steve Rogers to be the MCU's punching bag for the rest of the franchise

(We all know Joss Whedon is an absolute garbage person. He's done many horrible things including being a racist, sexist moron who should be behind literal bars.) This is a commentary on his absolute shit writing for Avengers 1.

This one particular scene and the one following it is purely poor writing & direction for the character of Steve Rogers.👇

After Coulson dies, Fury addresses Steve and Tony and tosses Coulson's bloodied Captain America cards at Steve. He says something like "guess you never found the time to sign them" which is just horribly cruel and though not OOC for Fury, is not something he'd say lightly. We later realize here👇

...that he's secretly trying to put together the team. This is where he makes his big "there was an idea" speech and mentions that "Stark knows this." Because yeah, Tony was made aware of this in Iron Man 1 when Coulson visited and told Pepper. In contrast, Steve had no idea about the Avengers Initiative.

In fact, the dude was just pulled from the Valkyrie in the ice!! In the beginning scene of Avengers 1, we see him at the gym with the punching bag having LITERAL WAR FLASHBACKS about Bucky and Peggy and the Howlies! He's not stable and yet Fury confronts him and ropes him into the mission to get the Tesseract. Steve says, "you should've left it where you found it." And I can't help but think that maybe Steve means himself as well because dude just lost EVERYONE & EVERYTHING he literally knew and cared about.

Anyway, back to the point, Steve knows nothing about the Initiative but is suddenly made to feel guilty about Coulson's death in some kind of roundabout way of "convincing him to join the team" in honor of Coulson.

And then, to make matters WORSE, in the next scene they make HIM comfort Tony 👇

They make him say, "im sorry" (like it was his fault???!) and "he was just doing his job" and "is this the first time you've lost a soldier?" LIKE WTAF???

*INSERTS JACOB ELORDI MEME FROM EUPHORIA SAYING WHAT THE FUCKKKKK?!*

First of all, Steve barely knows these people! Second, he was fond of Coulson and I'm sure they would've been close friends. But did they have to GUILT-TRIP Steve into joining the team? Like, that's just dumb and proves that they don't actually give a fuck about his character!

AND TALK ABOUT MEAN! Fury at least knew about Steve losing Bucky on that train. He KNOWS Steve's first words when he woke up from sleep was "I had a date" reflecting the tragedy of the man out of time. To just rip him out of sleep and thrust him into a mission and later making him feel guilty about Coulson was just pure cruelty, making SHIELD no better than HYDRA. They all saw Steve as a pawn, another mindless soldier to carry out their missions and I hate JW for that.

Steve's character was not accurately portrayed nor was his trauma properly dealt with and so this is why today, we see alot of MCU "fans" calling Steve the worst avenger, lame, boring and basically a crutch to Tony's genius. (I'm a huge Tony Stark fan, don't @ me). It just felt that the mcu wanted to make Tony the ultimate hero- which is fine, Nothing's wrong with that- but they did it at the expense of Steve's character and trauma.

Sadly, this narrative continues all the way down to Endgame and for that I will always hate JW & the mcu's portrayal of Steve Rogers.

“Stay away from Regulus, Y/n.”

You looked up from the book that was resting on your lap. James stood in front of you with a very depressed Sirius behind him. Raising an eyebrow, you wondered what fresh hell your brother had come up with today. He had a problem with you dating Regulus from day one of the relationships. Over the course of the past few years, you had heard some grand tales of stupid from your older brother.

“And today’s reason?”

You asked, sounding a little bored. At first, you had been amused with the jackassery that James created. Now, it was getting annoying. Now, you were ready to tell your brother to get fucked.

James didn’t realize that Regulus was perfect for you and you were perfect for him. In addition to also being a Slytherin, Regulus and yourself just clicked. Everything was perfect. Your “big-headed” older brother would not mess things up for you either.

“Because he’s a death eater now. He took the mark. You don’t need to be around any of that. Just because you’re a Slytherin doesn’t mean that you are going to join the snake cult. So, say goodbye to your little boyfriend and do us all a favor. “

James wasn’t surprised when you only stared at him before closing your book. You stood up and tossed the book to the ground before moving to look around the Hogwarts campus.

“Yeah, don’t count your chickens before they hatch, James.”

You commented before heading off toward the castle. James remained behind you yelling about Regulus getting you killed.

“Bye James!”

You called over your shoulder before disappearing into the castle without another word. You had other things to worry about than your brother at the moment.

Regulus was your worry. The man that you had fallen in love with was what you cared about. It was no secret to you that Voldemort had been trying to recruit Regulus for some time. The dark lord had been almost shameless in his pursuit of Regulus. You assumed that it had to do with the prominence of the Black family.

Stepping into the Slytherin dungeons, Barty and Evan immediately stood up seeing you. Judging by the expression on their faces, you knew James was right.

“Where is he?”

You asked. Barty motioned to the room the three boys shared. You gave your friends a nod before going off in the direction of the room. Evan reached out and grabbed your arm. He looked down at you with sympathy in his eyes.

“I think he needs you more than ever.”

You gave Evan’s hand a squeeze before turning and walking into the room. Regulus sat cradling his left arm, which was still shaking from the pain. It only took one look at your lover to know that he had been crying. Whether it be the realization of what he just did or the pain from the dark mark being burnt through his flesh…Regulus was miserable.

“Reggie.”

He looked up hearing your voice. His grey eyes watched every move that you made as you sunk down beside him.

“I know you’re disappointed.”

Regulus whispered in a hoarse from crying voice. In all of the years that you had known Regulus, you had never seen him cry. None of Walburga’s abuse or Siruis leaving made Regulus cry. This, however, this was huge and you understood his tears.

“I’m not disappointed, Regulus. I understand why you did this. Between Voldemort and your family, if you didn’t say yes…I would be afraid to know what would happen. You can only so no to the death eaters so many times.”

Regulus was quiet a moment.

“I understand if you don’t want to be with me anymore.”

You reached out and took Regulus’ chin in your hands. Turning his face to yours, you looked at him feeling tears welling in your own eyes.

“I will not let you do this alone.”

Regulus reached out and pulled you into his arms. The two of you sunk down against the wall. Regulus pressed his face into your chest breathing in your scent. He felt comforted For the first time in days, Regulus felt somewhat better. Knowing that you weren’t about to abandon him gave him some hope. Regulus had something to live for.

Your voice pulled Regulus from his thoughts.

“I will not let you die alone.”

The tone in your voice let Regulus know that you weren’t joking.

“If we can just get through this…make it through another day…we’ll run as soon as we can.”

Regulus whispered. You tightened your hold on Regulus.

We’ll make it through another day…we have to.

You thought hugging him tightly.

“We’ll make it through another day.”
