He's a monster, and he's hungry.
Wrote this over a few days because I'm. Not ok about this. It's on AO3, and under the cut cause it's a short one. Not super edited, just got desperate for more content exploring when Dean was a vampire and when I found none I was like "well alright. Guess I'll make it then."
“I can’t believe it.”
Dean paced the length of the hotel room, passing back and forth by the table where his brother sat, prowling like an animal in captivity.
“You just stood there and watched that freak turn me!”
He stared at Sam, hoping for a change in his reaction, a look of sympathy, an admission of guilt, some form of recognition that something fucked up happened in the alley. Sam’s face was blank, his heartbeat steady, and frankly he just didn’t seem to care. In fact, he hadn’t seemed to care about much recently. He was a cold, lifeless, empty husk and Dean was tired of it. His usual quips brought no frustrated response, no snappy replies, he was simply brushed off. There was no banter, no anger, simply complete and utter apathy no matter what he said. Sam had his moments, everyone did. Dean knew he had a tendency to push his luck, many people had told him this. But Sam was different, they were siblings. Sam putting up with him being an ass was just how things were, and would always be. At least it's how it should be. After everything they’d seen and done together… If Sam held any resentment, he’d have made it clear by this stage. He was a good liar, but Dean could always tell. They both knew each other too well. If he had any doubt something was off about Sam, it was quickly disintegrating as he stalked the room, watching him blankly staring up at him from the small table. Not even fidgeting in the slightest.
They’d been pushed to their limits before, and Sam was always the first to speak up when something was wrong.
“Dean.”
His lip curled at the sound of his name. It was so hollow. So static. It reminded him of school, when his teacher would check the roll call. It was an obligation and a requirement, not something done out of genuine care.
He decided to push a little harder.
“I mean what the hell was that all about Sam? Revenge? To get me back?” he growled.
“You know you’ve talked so much shit about me taking risks, is this all just some master plan to show me the error of my ways? A jab back at how you still, somehow deep down, think I’m Dad’s perfect son?”
He stood still, observing for a change in reaction. Dean desperately wanted to find a tiny shift in body language, a subtle twitch in his eyes or mouth, that sad glint in his eyes.
He breathed out slowly as Sam once again stared back with soulless eyes and a steady heart.
Not enough, Ok, he thought. He was an expert at this. Maybe Sam had steeled up after all these years.
It wasn’t a completely unreasonable possibility.
“I almost hurt Lisa and Ben, Sam! I came so close, I could have killed them and no one would have been there to stop me, but you were!”
He took a step towards Sam as he spoke, the venom of the accusation lingering in the air.
Sam breathed out and shuffled in his seat. Finally, a response.
“Dean, you need to calm down.”
You calm down.
He took another step closer, noting the slight increase in pace of Sam’s heart. Progress, hell yeah. A smile tugged at the edges of his lips though Dean’s eyes were as cold as Sam’s.
“Oh, that's rich coming from you! That’s easy for you to say when you’re not being assaulted by noise like you went to the movies and an intern did the mixing.”
He took another step closer.
The thrumming beat increased in speed once more.
“Dean.”
“S’matter of fact,” Dean slid his fingers across the tabletop, tracing the grooves in the rough wooden surface, “you’re exceptionally calm given I’m now stuck doing a bad David Boreanaz impression for an indefinite period of time, with no guarantee this Campbell special will even work.”
He looked up from where his hand slid along the table to match Sam’s unwavering gaze. His brother tilted his head to look up at him as Dean hovered above, adjusting in his seat. Sam slipped his left arm over the backrest of the chair.
Dean’s expression turned cold once more.
“And I’ve been thinking, Sammy. It’s ironic. Between that creep, you just standing there and watching, and…” jabbing his thumb back towards himself he gestured “... me…”
Dean slammed his hand back down on the table, leaning in closer. The headlights of a car flickered through the slim gap in the middle of the window curtains drawn behind them. It reflected off of Dean’s eyes for a split second, making Sam flinch. It reminded him of the animals on the side of the highway, peering at them through the bushes before darting away when they drove late at night.
“Begs the question,” Dean continued. “Which one of us is the real monster?”
Sam swallowed. The first real visible sign of him showing some nerves. He’d finally cracked him.
“Since you can hear my heartbeat,” Sam spoke slowly, “what does it say about me now?”
His tone was outwardly calm, but Dean could hear through him.
“It says you’re shit scared, Sammy.”
Sam waited for a few seconds before opening his mouth to respond. Whatever he said, Dean didn’t seem to notice, as his gaze began to shift from Sam’s face down to where the light of the window caught the curve of his exposed bare neck. A pang of hunger swelled in the pit of his chest as the noise and light and intensity of the room faded away until all that was left was the steady sound of the beating, beating, beating.
A sharp, intense pain stung the side of Dean’s neck breaking him free of the trance as he collapsed to the ground groaning and twitching in pain. Through fading vision he looked up to see Sam still sitting on the chair, slouching back, but holding a syringe in his left hand. The contents empty.
“You… sonof-abich…” his words formed a slurry as his body went limp.
-
“Nice of you to join us Samuel.”
“What the hell is going on here?”
“Sam’s showing me what all those years of boy scout training taught him to do.”
Dean sat on a chair, his legs, arms and chest bound with thick twine rope. Smiling at Samuel for a moment, he motioned with what little mobility he had in his hands to indicate. Samuel glanced at his brother with a questioning look.
“You did this?”
“He shot me full of dead man’s blood, and I gotta say, that’s one hell of a drug.”
Dean’s tone was dry and unimpressed. Samuel assessed the room, looking as though he wanted to ask more questions, but decided against it.
“Anyway you said you were getting something to help?” Dean’s voice broke the silence.
“This is help.”
Samuel pulled a glass jar out of a brown paper bag, setting it on the table. The contents was dark and viscous. It had sloshed around in transit, coating the airgap at the top of the jar. The light pierced through the clear glass and bright red light danced across the varnished wood tabletop.
“Wh- what is that?”
“Cows blood.” Samuel said curtly.
“That’s help?”
“It’ll keep you alive.”
As he twisted the lid open Dean’s eyes flicked between the jar and the two men.
“Well can you at least untie me first?” he pleaded, his voice straining.
The rope dug into his wrists and the thought of being spoon fed cows blood was sending his mind to a dark and violent place.
“Dean, it's just a precaution.” Samuel attempted to be reassuring.
Dean clenched his jaw. Precaution for what. You weren’t even here to see Sam attack me.
“Oh cut the bullcrap!” Dean spat, pulling against the rope binding his arms and legs. “C three P O over here was a bit too cautious back in the alley and look where it got us!”
Samuel stared at him tensely. Dean winced as a spike of sound ringed in his head from a car horn outside.
“Look I’m fine, Samuel. Really. Just untie me.”
The older man hesitated.
“Please?” Dean cracked a smile that usually got him whatever he wanted.
Usually.
Samuel watched him carefully while he placed the jar lid on the table. The unmistakable smell of iron, meat and death began to waft through the room. He leaned into the scent as he realised just how hungry he was. How dry his throat was. How much the deep, dark red called out to him.
“Samuel I will kill you if you try and hand feed that shit to me.”
The older man raised an eyebrow in response, unimpressed, and picked up the jar.
“Wait!”
Dean grimaced and hissed through gritted teeth as Sam called out from the other side of the table.
“One drop of human blood is enough, are we sure that cow’s blood is clean?”
“Oh you gotta be fucking kidding me Sammy…” Dean groaned.
Samuel paused, running it through his mind, blinking a few times, he contemplated the risk and the chance. Looking back, Sam shrugged silently.
“Sam has a point. If any human blood, from a cut or a scratch, got into this at the abattoir, you’re done.”
Dean ignored him and glared at Sam.
“God I can’t listen to you right now.”
“I didn’t say anything!” Sam blurted in frustration.
“Your fucking heartbeat man! It's so loud, it's so monotonous it’s killing me! Look, Samuel, just cut this fuckin rope and hand me the fuckin jar.”
Reluctantly, and cautiously, he pulled out a hunting knife from a holster on his belt. Staying as far from Dean as possible, he nicked part of the rope on Dean’s right arm just enough for him to wiggle it loose. Waving it in the air and stretching the fingers, Dean looked back to the two who were eyeing him off.
“See that wasn’t so bad now was it.” Dean’s tone was sarcastic and he tapped the armrest with his index finger.
“C’mon guys don’t look so nervous.  You can just drug me up again, it’s not like that's off the cards is it Sammy.”
Sam glanced away at the mention of his name, Samuel grunted in frustration as he reached for the jar and took a step towards the chair. In an instant the background thrum of his heart filled Dean’s mind, it was faster, full of nerves and fear compared to Sam’s horribly persistent flat tone. As he approached holding the jar out, Dean felt something shift under his lip.
“NO.”
His voice boomed as he jerked back in his seat, the legs scraping against the floor. Breathing sharply, he tilted his head down avoiding the stares of his associates.
“Get away from me.”
Grunting and breathing through gritted, sharpened teeth, he glanced up.
“Sammy, drop the machete.”
They’d both instinctively reached for their weapons. Brandishing them high, already poised for a clean decapitating swing. Dean growled and heaved deep breaths of air, flexing the remaining restraints. He could break free, if he wanted to. With one arm loose, he could easily rip the remaining rope off. He contemplated the thought, reveling in how powerful it made him feel.
“Dean?”
Samuel’s voice snapped him back to reality. He’d placed his machete back on the table, Sam had lowered his but still gripped it.
Dean extended his free arm out and flicked his hand towards the table.
“Just hand me the fuckin jar already.”
Samuel was quick to oblige, and quicker to back away once Dean had it in his grip. He tried to not dwell on the way his companions looked at his mouth instead of his face. He could feel the second set of teeth against his lips, his tongue. The smell of blood was suffocating him now, a mixture of alluring coppery tones and the stench of raw stale flesh. He wasn’t sure which was making him feel more ill. The pungent aroma or the fact he liked something in it.
“So you two just gonna watch like this is some sort of peep show or what?”
Neither responded, still fixated on his every move. Pulling a face, Dean limply held the jar up as it to toast before bringing it to his lips. Taking a tentative sip, he recoiled as blood spilt down his chin. Groaning and sputtering he violently spat it out.
“Augh, god this tastes disgusting–”
“I promised you help, I didn’t promise it’d taste nice. Now drink it.”

MC + Cursed Toddler-fied Boys
prompt: All the boys suffer the same fate as Satan by reading ‘The Forbidden Book of Toddlerization’
Lucifer
You have to wonder why they kept so many cursed books around, just out like this. You would think, like any normal person, with this continuing to happen, that they would keep them locked up or something. But no. They just leave them out for anyone to find….
“I’m going to the meeting!” Lucifer yelled, stamping his foot. His face twist in a petulant frown. It would be rather adorable, if you hadn’t been arguing with him for the past 20 minutes
“Lucifer, we talked about this. You can’t go to the meeting. You need to stay here.”
“No! I wanna go to the meeting! It’s very important and everyone is counting on me!” His arms are wailing now as he stamped his foot more.
Of course, you couldn’t let him go to the first of the month meeting like this. His pride would be wounded beyond compare if anyone else saw him like this. But reasoning with him wasn’t working. You had to resort to more, unsavory tactic to win. “But the meeting was cancelled. Lord Diavolo called earlier to let me know.”
Lucifer stopped stamping his feet and waving his arms to look at you with a vacant expression you didn’t know he could muster. “Really?”
Gods help you. “Yes, really.”
He seemed to think about this for a moment before he beamed, “ok!” His mood instantly brightening. “I believe you, because [Y/N] would never lie to me.” ‘Forgive me Lucifer’ You think to yourself. “What are we gonna do instead then?”
“Why don’t we play a game instead to pass the time? Would you like that?”
“I know chess!” He exclaimed loudly. “Let’s play that.”
Of course, knowing and being good at it were two different things. In this state you were actually able to beat Lucifer several times. When he retuned to normal the day was ‘conveniently’ put away for sometime after.
Mammon
“Mammon. Please. I’ll just be gone for a minute.”
“Nooooooo!” Mammon wailed when you tried to get up again. Clinging to your waist tightly to keep you on the couch. “Onii-chan said you had to stay with me! Stay with me! Stay with me!”
After reading The Forbidden Book of Toddlerization, Mammon had, of course, reverted to the personality of a small child. His brother made fun of him, say ‘what’s the difference’, but Lucifer knew that this could be a disaster if he was set to wander free in this state across the Devildom. So he sat you to babysit him.
“Mammon, I promise I’ll be right back. I’m just going to get us some snacks for our movie.”
“Then let me come with you!” He whined, still clinging to you. In this state it seemed he had also taken on the personality of a baby duck. Imprinting on you and following you around everywhere you went in his room. He hadn’t left you alone for 5 seconds since he got this way. “I promise I’ll be good!”
“It’s not a question of you being good or bad Mammon-chan.” He liked to be called Mammon-chan right now. “It’s that you need to stay here. If someone sees you like this well…they could use it to tease you.”
“No…I don’t want to be teased anymore….” His voice was low, and sad. His bright eyes looking on the verge of tears, like kids do when they’re said, before he buried his face into your side. “Mammon-chan doesn’t want to be made fun of anymore. Mammon-chan also doesn’t want to be alone anymore.”
You sigh. Unable to argue with him when he was like this. Your hand lifted to pet his head, which he seemed to appreciate, before you text Satan to bring you some snacks. He was always reliable and would do it for you.
Once the affects of the book had worn off, Mammon denied any of this happening. The mere mention would cause his face to turn red and yell about how, “that didn’t happen!” You almost wish you had taken a video of it to show him. Guess you would just have to keep Mammon-chan forever in your heart.
Levi
You went to Levi’s room after class to check on him in his….condition.
Since he did remote learning a lot of the time, being an otaku, it was pretty easy to keep him away from people so they did see him in the current state he was in. Apparently as a toddler he didn’t like being around people either.
So, you had set him up comfortably in his room before heading to class. Promising to come back that afternoon to be with him.
“Levi! I’m back! How are you—what are you doing?!?!”
“Playing with my toys.” Levi replied, with an obvious expression, as a sea of toys stretch out in front of him where he laid on his belly on the floor.
Your brain stopped. Completely at a loss for words. Levi was going to kill you when he returned to normal, because toddler-Levi, left unattended, had unboxed nearly all of his figurines from their packaging. Some of which were incredibly rare, and unable to get anymore.
“I just…I mean…Why?? Why would you do this??”
“They’re my toys.” Levi replied with a pout. Sitting up. “I can do what I want with them. What’s the point in having neat toys if you aren’t going to play with them??”
He did have a point there. But adult-Levi was going to be so mad!
“Do you want to play with me?” The demon asked with a hopeful expression. “You can even be blue Ruri-chan.” The limited edition, color swap Ruri-chan from 1999. He was gonna blow a gasket!
“Yeah. Ok.” But then again, when were you ever going to be able to touch them again.
As expected, Levi totally lost it when he came to his senses. Of course, there was no one to blame but himself, in the end, so he just had to be upset and mope alone. Thankfully, none of them were broken or beyond just out of their originally packaging. He bought them all clear showcase boxes for his ‘ruined’ figurines. Some of them he could rebuy to replace; which seemed to make him happy to have two.
Satan
It had been hours since the affects of the book had taken ahold of Satan. You were starting to wonder if they would ever wear off.
Lucifer had left in search of another book, one that might help speed the process along, and left his younger brother in your care. Of course you were happy to help, but you were getting nervous you would never see the old Satan again.
“[Y/N]-chan?” You look up from your phone, waiting for Lucifer to text you back, to see the blonde demon looking timidly at you from around the corner.
“What is it Satan?”
“Would you….read to me?” His hands holding out the small children’s book he had some how found in the piles of books covering his room.
You smile softly at him. Your heart warmed by his request. “Of course,” you tell him, and the demon scampered over to sit on the bed beside you. His long legs and body tucked neatly into you as he waited for you to tell him the story of a little lost chicken and it’s journey back home. “[Y/N] tells the best stories!”
After 3 stories, he had fallen asleep. When he woke up, Satan was back to normal. He doesn’t answer your questions on where the children’s books had come from, but you spot the red & gold spines on his book shelves sometimes.
Asmo
There was no denying that Asmo was fascinated by art and all things beautiful. He went on and on about it any chance he got. So you shouldn’t have really been surprised when his toddlerfied self just wanted to draw all day.
“Look, look [Y/N]-chan! I finished another one!”
“That’s great Asmo.” You praise. Just like you had done with all the other ones he had handed to you. “Wow! This is really great! Is that a….chicken?”
“No, silly! That’s the white horse for our carriage when we get married!” The demon beamed, then shuffled over on his knees to instruct you on his picture properly. “That’s you, and that’s me. That’s the princess carriage that’s going to ride us off into the sunset. That’s Solomon and Simeon throwing flowers at us. That’s my brothers crying because I got to marry [Y/N]-chan and they didn’t.”
“You certainly seem to have all the parts here.” You praise. Giggling at his enthusiasm and picture.
“I want to have a perfect picture of when we get married. Because I love [Y/N]-chan! And we’re gonna get married and live happily ever after.” He replied, with certainty, with a smile.
“Well, I’ll be glad for that. Why don’t you draw me our perfect house for after we get married?” Asmo scampered off and did just that.
When Asmo came to, and back to his normal self, he took all the pictures he had drawn and framed them. Forcing his brothers and Solomon to take a tour of his mini-art gallery. The piece ‘Marriage of Two Bonded Souls’ was met with some controversy.
Beel
Beel, in his younger days, seemed to have boundless energy. Or you at least had to assume he did, because ever since he had read that stupid book he had been running around.
Lucifer had told you to take him outside. Irritated at hearing his large feet clump around the house, but trying not to show it since it wasn’t his fault. He even let you both take Cerberus outside to help run Beel out. It would be good for the pup too. Get some exercise, he said.
That had been sometime ago, and it seemed baby-Beel and Cerberus were an even match in energy. They had been running around, chasing each other, and play fighting in the back yard all afternoon. You were tired just watching them.
“Beel! Do you want to come in? I think it’s time for a break.”
Both Beel and Cerberus pop their heads up, in a comical and adorable unison head tilt, before jogging over to you. “Break time means snack time right?!”
You chuckle a little. Somethings never changed. “I brought some apple slices & peanut butter for you, for now. We can get you something bigger when we go inside.”
Beel grinned and sat in the grass with the container. “I like apple slices!”
“You do hn?” You don’t think you’ve seen Beel eat an actual fruit on its own. It was usually attached to, baked in, or covered in something, to get him to eat it.
“Yep! They’re crunchy and sweet. Just like you! Though, I guess you aren’t crunchy. Do you want one of my apple slices [Y/N]?”
You blush a little at Beel’s bright, unwavering expression. How could he look so innocent while still looking like that?
He finished his apple slices, minus one, before asking if he could go play again. You let him, but then all of a sudden he spotted playing with Cerberus and stood straight up. Seeming confused on how he got out here and what was going on. “Did I eat an apple? I haven’t had one since….do you think we have more in the kitchen?”
Belphie
It was honestly hard to tell if Belphie was under the spell of the forbidden book or not. He’d been asleep for most of the time; which was not uncommon for him. Then he would wake up and whine a little about something; again, not uncommon for him. Then he would take another nap.
You had figure out that he was still under it’s spell by the requests he was making when he woke up. Juice boxes. More plushies. His ‘blankie’. Eventually it would run its course though, and Belphie would be back to his own sleepy eyed, grown up self. “[Y/N]?”
You walk over to the bed when the demon called your name. The boy half sitting up, but still tucked under his covers. “What is it Belphie?”
“I can’t sleep.” He stated. Which seemed ridiculous since he had been sleeping most of the day. “I miss Lilli. And Be-be. Can you sleep with me?”
You blink at little at the request. You supposed it made since. Kids often wanted someone to sleep with them, so they didn’t have bad dreams or could keep them safe. Maybe that’s why he had been sleeping so much. Because he hadn’t been sleeping well, just sleep.
“Sure Belphie. I’ll lay down with you.” The demon smiled softly, sleepy, before he scooted over to give you some space to lay next to him.
He slept for a while this last time. Clinging onto you in his sleep, with a soft smile on his face. When he woke up, it seemed he was back to normal. “Gosh [Y/N]. If you wanted to sleep with me, all you had to do was ask. You didn’t have to trick me with that lame book.”

The Veterinarian and the Werewolf
Tumblr media
Word Count: 1800
Summary: The calm before the storm
A/n hello, and thanks again @sillyrabbit81 for reading and editing for me :)
Chapter 11
Henry was angry. It was truly the first time he had allowed himself to feel such anger in almost fifteen years. Everything that was happening, all the pieces coming together to paint a picture of that night, it didn’t bring healing like it should, instead, it just bought more pain. All the locked away feelings he had tried so hard to forget from the past kept coming up, especially when he saw Tom’s face. Everything in him wanted to go full wolf, ignore human laws and decimate his friend’s abusers. If he had not felt a strong need to comfort Tom, to help heal some of his wounds then he would have snuck out right there and then.
But Jessie had different ideas, even after the boys left, she insisted he stay by her side. It was as if she knew what he was thinking, knew he would be reckless. When they arrived at the house, he did a quick sniff of the perimeter before feeling secure that there were no new smells. He found Jessie in the kitchen making a coffee. What he wouldn’t give to taste the magic brew again, it had been so long since his last sip. Wondering if she would understand him, he padded over to her and bumped her leg, put his nose in the air, sniffed at the cup she had finished pouring and then yipped. For the first time in a few days she smiled, a genuine large smile. “Did you want some coffee, Henry?” He yipped again, this time emphasising it with his tongue panting.
She found a small ceramic bowl and poured some coffee into it, she picked it up and placed it on the coffee table in the living room. It was the perfect height for him to first sniff the delectable scent, then hesitantly dip his tongue in. It was perfect, she had made it smooth, bold, and milky. He turned his head to her and almost laughed at the look on her face as she watched with anticipation. “Is it ok? I can change it if you don’t like it that milky.” Her nervousness was real, and he wanted to show her how much he liked it, so instead he turned around and lapped the whole bowl up before jumping on the couch and giving her a series of long sloppy kisses on the cheek. Giggling Jessie squealed, “Henry! Stop! If that’s a yes you liked it then great. But if that’s just a reaction to the coffee then no more for you mister.” He stopped immediately not wanting the coffee to stop.
Henry curled up next to her on the couch laying his head in her lap. It was the only intimate thing that he could do whilst he was still in wolf form. He wanted her to know she was safe. Her fingers began to caress his fur, threading through massaging his skin. The tension and anger melted, all that mattered at that moment was his mate.
She softly cleared her throat, “Henry, I need to let you know about something important. Please yip if you are understanding me.” It had been a while since her voice had not made sense, another sign he hoped that he was closer to the surface. “Yip” was his reply. Her body sagged a bit. “Good, I have insisted Tom come to live here for a while until he is safe to go home. But that might be a long while. I learned something this morning and I need to tell you, but I don’t want you to overreact, ok?”
Overreact, what was she talking about? Henry listened intently a soft growl intimating he heard but was not happy. “Tom, well Tom is my secret admirer.” At that comment, Henry leapt up sitting his full height on the couch. His eyes bored into Jessies, looking to see if what she said was true and not a horrible joke. But the seriousness on her face confirmed her words. Both her hands came up and cradled his muzzle, keeping his eyes on hers as she spoke with authority. “Now listen to me Henry, I know you have been jealous and I appreciate you trying to protect me from Boyd. But you know Tom, he is sweet, caring, and young. You have nothing to be jealous of. I see him as more of a younger brother, heck even as a son. So, you have nothing to fear, I want you to continue to care for him just as you have been. He needs our love and affection right now, not more rejection. Ok?”
Not sure how he felt about it, on top of everything else, he flopped back down in her lap. Not willing yet to acknowledge what she was asking of him. She didn’t know how much it hurt to see her with another, to know outside of a dream he could not hold her. He settled enjoying her hands once again scratching behind his ear and smoothing his fur. They stayed like that until the sound of multiple footsteps sounded at the front door, Henry jumped up and ran to the door his fur heckled and a low growl sending out a warning. “Hey Jessie, Wolfy, it’s just us.” Jessie walked past him and opened the door showing a mountain of bags hiding the two boys behind.
Henry’s heckles stayed up as he watched the wall of bags shuffle into the room. It wasn’t till the bags had been placed down, and Tom’s face was shown again, that his fur smoothed down, at that moment he made his mind up. No matter how painful it was seeing someone else fawn over his mate, he would treat Tom as family. He walked up to Tom, rubbing his body up against him then gave his hand a quick lick. Tom’s hand rested on his head-scratching behind his ear. “Thanks, Wolfy. I missed you too buddy.” Out of the corner of his eye, he saw Jessie with a soft smile on her face.
Joe stayed for dinner, the foursome enjoyed steak and veggies, with ice cream for dessert. After dinner, Joe tried to convince the party too, “Have a fashion parade.” A chorus of no’s including a growl from Henry had him lifting his hands in surrender,.“Oh, you guys are no fun. At least let us get dressed in our pj’s.” Jessie frowned at this comment, causing Joe to explain, “We thought with everything going on it might be a good idea to have a slumber party. You know an extra body in case you know who decides to turn up.” Henry was surprised at Joe’s gesture. As excitable as the boy was he was a true friend to Jessie. Jessie, he could see, was struggling and if he guessed her problem, it was accepting help. She had been independent for so long, had to be strong for herself, work everything out for herself. He could only guess if she was anything like himself that she would try to back out of this extra support.
Before she had a chance to speak, he pushed towards her, growling low making her look at him. He put as much feeling behind his eyes as he could trying harder than ever to push towards the surface. The message he wished to convey was one of “please, accept their help.”
She looked at him, her head cocked to one side before her ridged stance melted and her soft voice yielded. “As long as Dillon is ok with it, Joe that’s fine. Heaven knows this house has enough rooms to have 3 separate guests so I’m ok with you having a ‘slumber party.” Joe whooped at that and ran to ring his boyfriend.
Henry had to snigger, here she was surrounded by boys, Tom was 19, and Joe 22 they had gone and changed into PJ’s that had caused Jessie to giggle, the Pokémon images outlined on the two-piece top and pants make them look like overgrown children. Confirmed by them pulling the cushions of the chairs and creating a fort with blankets for them to sit in and eat popcorn as they watched movies. It truly was a sight to see but Henry could tell she was slightly uncomfortable with the interaction. But with his body surrounding hers, she began to relax and enjoy the constant chatter of Joe and Tom.
As the clock chimed 11pm, the party began to go quiet, and eventually, Jessie put on her boss hat. “All right boys. Time for teeth, toilet, and bed, and I want this room set to rights before you head upstairs.” Yawns and tired agreements grumbled as Henry got up and yipped to Jessie. “You need to go out Henry?” It was the first time she had addressed him with his full name in front of the others.
Joe was the only one who made any note of it as he was picking up the last cushion. “I like that name, Jessie. It suits him.” She smiled at Henry, then let him out.
When he was back inside, they locked up the doors and walked silently upstairs. She poked her head in both rooms saying the good night before moving to her own room. After looking after her own needs Jessie snuggled under the covers. Henry positioned himself so he was stretched out next to her ready to hold her in his arms he shut his eyes pleading for sleep to come fast.
Trees, trees, and more trees, the more he pushed the thicker they grew as if they were alive and deliberately holding him back. Henry began to grow angry again, how dare they stop him from seeing his mate. His anger hit a point causing him to turn into his wolf while in the dream state. This allowed him to duck under the branches until he finally broke free into the clearing. There was Jessie, patiently waiting for her man but the look of shock on her face when wolf Henry broke through into the clearing was evident.
“Henry? Are you, ok?” He looked up at her, the anger still burning hot in his eyes. She stilled for a moment then sat patting her lap in an invitation for him to join her. He passed back and forth for a moment before his heart rate began to settle, then he walked forward, and laid down beside her. His head in her lap she gently caressed his fur before he was fully calm. At that moment his desire for her pulled to the front so much so that he began to shift, she stilled as his body creaked and popped until Henry’s head laid in her lap his naked body stretched out for all to see.

First Kiss HC’S! [Date edition]
A/N I was feeling sawft, and I wanted to do something cute so yeah.. That’s really it- Hope you like it :D Doing four now and four more tomorrow and if you guys like it I’ll do others too <3 Also you get a sneak peek of the lovely banners that @queensynderella made me for my masterlist hehe <3
Warnings: Freaking CUUUUTENESSSS
Tumblr media
✴ First off, it really depends on what the mood is in terms of Midoriya making the first move or not. If it’s a date planned by him and if executed perfectly, you best believe he’s going to seal a perfect night with a kiss.
✴ Treating you to a movie night with your favorite snacks, sets the perfect mood and gives you two the perfect privacy for him to do the old big yawn trick to slip his arm around your shoulders, and if you put your head on him? That arm is slipping right down to wrap around your waist, keeping you as close as he can.
✴ At first you can feel him trembling a little bit, but as you two sit there intertwined in each other, it stops and soon you feel a small nudge against your hair, when you look up he’s staring at you with those gorgeous emerald hues. You ask “What’s wrong?” and he simply chuckles “Nothing is wrong, you’re just beautiful is all..” he’d say softly, his breath faintly caressing your cheeks.
✴ That’s his opening, because once you’re flustered from such a genuine statement, he leans in and captures your lips, causing you to let one singular gasp escape from your nostrils. His lips are soft, and faintly taste of buttered popcorn from your snacks. At first you’re a little stunned, you didn’t give the male much credit in terms of making the first move, but you’re genuinely into it.
✴ Soon a hand would come up and caress your hair, and he would tilt his head to deepen it just for a moment before pulling away and pressing a forehead against yours, just sitting with you in silence while the movie plays in the background, making you finally lean forward and hug into him, resting your head against his chest.
✴ IF the date isn’t perfect like he wanted, he would be more sulky and you would make the first move, leaning up and pecking his lips sweetly “It’s okay, Midoriya~ I still enjoyed myself and I hope to do this again” you’d say with a smile, causing the male to ignite into a gorgeous yet vivid rose color “R-Really?? Of course! I would like to as well..”
Tumblr media
✴ A first kiss with Bakugou could go so many different ways, but the way I’m seeing it.. After countless days of the bakusquad pestering him, he finally agreed to take you out. There had always been odd tension between you two, it was clear as fucking day that you two were into each other, but both stubborn in your own ways.
✴ For someone who was forced to do this, the date is actually nicely planned out. He knows you’re into nerd shit, so he takes you to a few game stores as well as a small bar that is also a really cool retro arcade. Regardless of how much he’s telling you that he doesn’t want to be here, he kindly pays and gets quarters for you, and idly stands behind you, watching you play games- and at some point, he becomes oddly curious and decides to be your player two.
✴ Once he’s finally starting to feel comfortable, you two go out to eat and surprisingly, while you two are walking into the diner, he grabs your hand and walks with you rather than behind you.
✴ Once again, the male surprises you and sits next to you in the booth rather than across from you, and the first thing the over confident blonde does is rest a hand on your thigh, his thumb carefully gliding against the fabric of your pants, but it doesn’t seem malicious.. He actually starts to talk about his day, his training routines and dealing with the Bakusquad which earned quite a bit of laughs.
✴ As you two eat, you get up the nerve to ask him why he had to be pestered to ask you out and of course he has nothing but excuses “I’m working hard to surpass stupid Deku- I don’t need girls standing in my way” or “Listen dumb ass, you could have asked me out too!” he’d bark, causing you to look down a little.. You knew that regardless of what he said you were both confused, but one thing you did know was you liked him.
✴ By the time it was for you two to say goodnight to each other, you’d both stand in front of your door and he would stare down at you like you did something wrong “What” you’d say blinking softly “This is the part where you kiss me goodnight, I paid for you all night it’s the least I should get” he would say with a scoff. You would huff and cross your arms “You know.. That SHOULD be your job..” you’d say, lifting a finger to scold him, but he seals the deal, leaning forward and pulling you close, smashing his lips against yours a little roughly, but the kiss itself is as sweet as can be.
✴ This kiss would last a little longer than the ‘standard’ first date kiss, because of the blonde aggressively shoving his tongue into your mouth, and you very much enjoying it.. What you assumed would be a simple kiss was now a steamy make out for your neighbors to gossip about in the morning. When he’d finally break it, he’d push some hair out of your face and smirk “I’ll text you, dumbass..” he’d say in an oddly sweet tone before waving goodbye and heading back to his car.
Tumblr media
✴ Tenya’s middle name is in fact ‘Perfect Gentleman’. When he asked you out, you were surprised because you’ve always been good friends, and he is SUCH a good guy, why would you say no?
✴ When he picks you up, he meets you at your door, walks you to the car, opens AND closes the door for you, and even waits until you’re settled before he pulls off. While you’re driving, he’ll hand you the aux cord and tell you to play what you want, and even if it isn’t his thing, he’s always willing to give your likes a chance, so he vibes with you.
✴ When you get to a fancy looking restaurant, he would make you stay in the car so he could open the door for you as you walked in, he would have his hand respectfully against the middle of your back, leading you to the seats that he made reservations for.
✴ Regardless of him being a little uptight, he seems to let loose and you two talk about everything, especially the old highschool days, and how he wished he would have asked you out a little sooner, but glad he finally did.
✴ While you were eating, he would do cute things like offer for you to try his meal, or ask if you wanted dessert, he even let you know if you got a little something on your chin. He was honestly just the sweetest thing ever, and you felt a little dumb too.. You should have seen what a good guy he was before now.
✴ When the date was over, he would drive you home and walk you to your door, carrying your carry out for you.
✴ As you reach the front door, he would bow his head to you “Thank you so much for giving me the chance to take you out, Y/N.. I -.. Really like you, I always have” he’d say in a deep tone, lifting his head to meet your gaze, smiling softly as the blush dressed along your soft cheeks. “I.. I like you too, Iida” you’d reply, making him close his eyes for a moment and let out a relieved hum “Please, I want you to call me Tenya from now on” he’d reply.
✴ You would nod with a giggle and then he would slowly lean in, making sure you had time to dodge that shit in case you didn’t want it, but you wouldn’t move, and soon your lips would connect in a soft, respectful kiss. It would only last for a second, but that was okay, he was only being mindful of you.
✴ Finally, he would bow his head “Have a good rest of your night, Y/N.. I'll tell you, okay?” he’d say sweetly before letting you walk inside before he made his way back to his car.
Tumblr media
✴ Ok, so you very much know this boy likes you, it’s so painfully obvious.. Every time you go hang out with the bakusquad he’s on you like a fly on shit, and you think it’s rather cute.. But finally one day, he nonchalantly asks you to hang out, just the two of you and you happily agree, because regardless of how cool you normally played it, you liked him as well.
✴ When you get there, he initially lets you in with a big smile, but of course when you walk in, he stays at the door so he can not so secretly look at your ass. You knew it was innocent though, Kaminari would never just.. Jump your bones.
✴ The night he planned was simple, you’d bring your switch as well as some snacks. When you got into his living room area, it seemed as if he made a cute little nest of pillows and blankets on the floor for you two to sit and game, and when you did settle into your spot, Kaminari would sit right next to you, arm to arm and offer you a drink.
✴ You would both settle on something like Mario Kart, and honestly? You lost track of time so quickly.. Between you two joking around or calling out the other for a blue shell.. It just felt right being there with him, it was just so easy.
✴ In the midst of playing though, Kaminari would inch in different ways every other game until he was between your legs, using your breasts as a pillow.. And honestly? That was so okay.. You had been having such a good time, cuddling had been on your mind for the whole duration of your little date.
✴ Finally after countless rounds, he would set his controller down and snack on some chips, you couldn’t help but pet his hair and it caused the male to tense a little and look up “I take it.. You’re enjoying the date? I’m sorry I couldn’t take you out anywhere.. I just really thought private would be better” he’d say with pursed lips. You’d giggle and nod “I am enjoying myself a lot, Kaminari.. I’m glad we didn’t go out” you’d reply with a bright smile.
✴ The air would grow heavy suddenly, only the faint video game music filling the room as you two locked eyes and just stared at each other, but finally.. Kaminari would shift until he was on his hands and knees, dangerously close to your face as he bit his lip and pressed his forehead against yours. You being the impatient person that you are.. Close the rest of the distance and you would jump feeling a slight shock on your lips when they met.
✴ As the new sound of soft kisses overpowered the music, he would loom over you until your back was against the pillows and he would pull away just to look down at you with a hum “Do you.. Maybe want to just crash here tonight?” he’d ask with a seductive yet charming smile “Yes.. I would like that a lot” you’d whisper back up at him before stealing yet another kiss for him.
✴ [Face it, first anythings with Denki is going to end up with you staying the night >:3]

Midnight In Paris - Scott x Reader (Surprise Character x Reader) - Words: 2418
You sat down at your computer with a sigh. You really needed to edit your post for today and reply to a few asks that had backed up on your Tumblr page. But instead you decided to work on a new project. You looked at your desk and nodded approvingly. "Ok! Coffee, music, blank document, photos from when I was 7, and photos from last summer. Ready!"
And that's why birds do it, bees do it
Even educated fleas do it
Let's do it, let's fall in love
Y/N took a deep breath as she stepped off the plane in Paris. She'd been here once before as a little girl but those memories had faded and the magic of Paris had been lost. "This I do remember," She muttered, crinkling her nose as the pungent smell of jet fuel filled her nostrils. She rushed through the airport wanting to get to her sightseeing plans as soon as possible. The hotel she'd made reservations at was small but quant. After checking out the room, dropping off her luggage, and freshening up a bit, she headed out into the city just in time to catch the golden sunset reflecting across the elegant architecture.
As she walked up and down cafe lined streets and avenues dotted with interesting shops, she couldn't help but wish she could have seen Paris in what's been called its heyday. Y/N laughed at her own line of thought, remembering the lesson of the movie she'd watched not 3 nights before. Midnight In Paris was one of her favorite movies. And it had one of her favorite actors too. Even if his screen time in it totalled only about 5 minutes and 34 seconds. https://youtu.be/yIcTbQj4bZw
Eventually, dinner time came so she stopped in a small cafe/bar to order a meal. "Mercí," She told the waiter after being seated. She decided to order some wine too, of course.
"Bonne nuit, Mademoiselle," Someone called out to her as she left the restaurant hours later. The wine had left Y/N substantially more tipsy than she expected after only a few glasses.
As she made her way back to the hotel, she giggled, thinking of the movie once again as a nearby clock struck twelve and marked a new day. Shaking her head, she told herself, "It's just a movie. Things like that don't happen in real life."
"Pardonnez-moi, mademoiselle," A gentleman exclaimed, stumbling out of what seemed to be a small nightclub and bumping into her, knocking her to the ground.
"No problem," She replied, dusting herself off and standing. Glancing inside the bar, she saw it had an oddly warm and inviting atmosphere for such a loud place. Deciding that the night was still young, she walked in.
"Hello!" A young lady with a heavy southern American accent exclaimed, walking up to her. The air was smokey and there was an old song playing that Y/N knew she recognized but couldn't quite place. "Well don't you look different! Wearin' pants to a party like this! Don't worry, darlin'! You look just fine!" Y/N nodded silently, shocked at the woman's reaction.
"Women have been wearing pants for decades now!" Y/N thought to herself.
"Are you alright, darlin'?"
"Yeah, I'm fine," Y/N replied quickly. She suddenly realized who the young woman was. Or at least looked like. "Pardon my confusion, but I'm afraid I had a bit more wine with my dinner than I had planned." She chuckled lightly and shook her head, trying to clear her mind.
"Nothing to apologize for," a man spoke up from behind her. "Zelda has a way about her that does that to people regardless of their sobriety." Y/N turned around and fought the urge to gasp in surprise. "Scott Fitzgerald," He said, holding out his hand. "A pleasure to meet you!" She reached out and shook his hand.
"Nice to meet you too," She replied with a grin, seemingly unable to look away. She couldn't believe this was happening to her. It was just like the movie! "I'm Y/N," she finally said, still smiling at Scott.
"Well, I'll be off then. I've spotted quite a few interesting pursuits for the night, so," Zelda said with a smirk. "I'll be off!"
"Just be home at a reasonable-and she's gone," Scott sighed. He chuckled awkwardly and took a slow drag from his already lit cigarette. "My sister is bound to drive me to insanity one day!"
"Your sister?" Y/N exclaimed. Scott nodded, eyes lit up with amusement. They both laughed loudly and Y/N shook her head. "You do know most everyone else thinks you're married!"
"I have noticed people tend to assume that," He chuckled, leading her towards another group of people. "I'd like you to meet some friends of mine," He said. As Y/N followed him around the room, she found herself mostly stunned into silence at seeing each face that she'd come to know from rewatching Midnight In Paris a million times. She took a sip from the drink that had somehow found its way into her hands and glanced around the room as Scott was busy talking with someone she couldn't remember the name of.
"There's no way this is happening," She muttered to herself hours later. Laughing quietly, she shook her head. "I probably hit my head on the pavement and am having a concussion-induced/Paris-induced dream. And the wine probably didn't help. That's got to be it! Well, perhaps I should wake myself up now," She reasoned. Squinting at a clock, she figured the sun should be rising soon so she started making her way to the door.
"Leaving so soon?" Scott asked, grabbing her arm before she walked out.
"Yes," She sighed. "It was wonderful meeting you, Scott. Thank you for a lovely evening."
"Will you be around tomorrow? There's another party."
"I'll try to make it," Y/N replied, not wanting to disappoint him even if it was a dream. "Goodbye, Scott," She smiled. Gathering her courage, she stood on her tip-toes and gave him a kiss on the cheek. She turned away quickly and ran out the door. In her rush, she stumbled on an uneven part of the sidewalk and fell down.
"Are you ok?" A young lady asked a few moments later. Y/N looked up at the stranger and nodded embarrassedly.
"Yes, I just," she stopped mid-sentence when she turned and saw the bar she'd just walked out of was completely empty. "I just tripped," she said slowly. "Um, thank you."
"No problem," The girl smiled. "Au revoir!" She called out, continuing on her way.
Y/N went back to her hotel and took a brief nap to refresh herself for the day. Eventually, she put the night's events aside mentally and moved on with her plans. That is until she found 'the dress'. She was passing a line of boutiques and in the window of the last one was a Y/F/C 1920's style drop waist dress. It even had a matching hat and purse. Half an hour later, Y/N found herself back in the hotel room trying to get her makeup just right to match the outfit.
"I don't know what I'm doing," She told herself as she walked back to where she'd been the night before. Sitting on a bench across the street, she waited. For what exactly, she was not sure, but she knew she had to wait. Soon enough, the clock struck 12 midnight and, just like in the movie, an old car made its way down the street. Y/N was so distracted trying to look inside the vehicle that she didn't notice the change across the street.
"Y/N! Y/N, you came back!" Scott yelled as he and a few others came out of the bar. She ran across the street now that the car had passed to meet up with him, grinning like mad.
"Scott! I didn't-" she paused, chuckling lightly. "I didn't think I would see you again."
"Didn't I tell you there was another party tonight?" He asked, slightly confused. Y/N nodded, still grinning, and decided not to explain for now.
"Where are we off to?" She asked, linking arms with him. He smiled and they headed to one of the cars parked nearby. The night went by in a flash. Near morning, the group found themselves at a small cafe/bar. A few had already gone home and the rest were preparing to leave. Soon it was just Y/N and Scott left. She stared at him for a moment before shaking her head and laughing lightly.
"What's so funny?" He asked. "You know, you get the oddest look on your face sometimes. Like you've gone somewhere else," He commented.
"I have," she replied, taking a sip of her drink. "You know, I've always wondered what it would be like to be here," she said, gesturing around her. "Or even somewhere else, another time. And it's been wonderful! But you were right! A person really can't live in the past. It's just not possible."
"I'm not sure what I said to help you," He chuckled. "But it's funny, I have a character that should learn that lesson," Scott commented. "I'm working on the book right now but I think I've just gotten an idea from you. Thank you," He smiled.
"Oh! That's right!" Y/N said, realizing her favorite F. Scott Fitzgerald writing wasn't even released, and apparently not even finished yet.
"Perhaps we should be making our way home," He said, glancing outside at the rising sun. He stood and held his arm out for Y/N to hold. "Let me walk you?" She nodded and they headed outside into the crisp morning air. She pointed in the general direction of her hotel, wondering somewhat what would happen when they arrived. "Are you cold?" He asked her.
"No, I'm fi-" But before she could finish, he had already draped his jacket over her shoulders. "Thank you," Y/N replied, blushing brightly. She pulled the charcoal suit jacket around her, genuinely glad for it's warmth. When they were about a block away, she stopped, turning to look at him. "Scott," She sighed. "I can't come back. I'm afraid if I do-" she paused again, looking around at the beautiful city just starting to wake up. "I guess I should thank you. You've been so kind to me and I appreciate it. It made my visit to Paris so much better."
"I'm glad to hear that, Y/N," He replied. "I will miss you. But I am, at the very least, happy to have had the pleasure of meeting you." He leaned forward and kissed her gently, surprising Y/N. She closed her eyes and sighed into the kiss, trying to commit every feeling to memory. "Goodbye," She heard him say, one they separated. She didn't have the courage to open her eyes and watch him go however.
"Goodbye," Y/N finally whispered to herself when she opened her eyes and saw the city, modern and bustling all around her. Y/N wiped away the few stray tears and broke out into a run, wanting to get back to her hotel as fast as possible. As she rounded the last corner before the building, though, she collided with someone walking around the same corner. Y/N lost her balance, the person she ran into being much taller, and fell down. "I'm so sorry!" She exclaimed. She was rushing to pick up the items she dropped when she saw a hand held out to her.
"It's alright," The man said. "No harm done. Now can I help you up?" He asked, smiling sweetly.
"I-uh, well, yes. Thank you," She stuttered. He helped her gather her things and handed them to her.
"Were you heading to the hotel?" He asked. Silently, she nodded, not trusting her own voice at this point. "Well, then, let me walk you back. I was heading there myself." He smiled at her as they started walking down the sidewalk. "Oh! I forgot to introduce myself. I'm Tom."
"Done!" You exclaimed. Letting out a sigh of relief. You had been needing to write that for a long time but you never quite felt up to it. "Holy crap!" You yelled, looking at the clock. It had taken much longer than you expected to write it. You knew your husband would be home shortly so you rushed out to start dinner.
"Honey! I'm home!" He called out, walking through the door. He was grinning like mad, obviously in a good mood if he was using such a cliche line on you.
"Hello, Tom," You smiled, as he came up behind you, giving you a hug. He peppered your neck with small kisses, making you giggle loudly. "Tom! Stop that!" You exclaimed, wriggling out of his arms. "I need to finish dinner."
"Alright, darling. I'll change then," He relented. A while later, once dinner was safely cooking in the oven, you heard him call out to you from the bedroom.
"What's wrong?" You asked, walking to the doorway. Then it hit you. You'd left the document open on your laptop which was on your desk in the bedroom.
"What's this?" He asked, pointing to your new writing.
"It's for the blog," You said honestly. He knew you had a Tumblr page, although he still refused to see what was posted about him on there. Just one mention of the site could still get him embarrassed.
"Yes but," He glanced at it again, brows furrowed. "That's not how it actually happened, is it?" He asked, quite confused. You chuckled and shook your head.
"Well now, I can't very well ask Scott to verify my story, can I?" You smirked.
"Of course not," He chuckled. "Although I must say you did an excellent job of adapting the story of how we first met!"
"Thank you, dear," You smirked, walking away to the walk-in closet you shared.
"What are you not telling me?" He asked suspiciously.
"Oh, nothing," You replied innocently. When you walked out of the closet you completely ignored Tom, whistling as you headed back to the kitchen.
"What is that you're wearing?" He called out, running after you. You laughed as he caught up with you in the living room. "Is that a new charcoal suit jacket?"
"It's not new, Tom, not new at all."

Chapter 2
Stark Spangled Banner Masterlist // Main Masterlist
Tumblr media
 April 2013
“You know, you need to find someone you can experience all this with.” Peggy looked at her picture frames on her nightstand. “So you can have as many memories as I do.” Her gaze returned to Steve and he wondered if she could possibly know about his feelings towards Katie, those feelings that had been growing stronger and stronger over the past few weeks.
And then when she asked the next question, he knew she did.
“How’s Miss Stark?” Peggy asked, her eyes twinkling and Steve looked at her as a wicked smile crossed her face. He rolled his eyes.
“Peg…”
“I’m just asking a question!” She teased.
“We’re just friends.” he sighed.
“Hmmm” the old lady said thoughtfully “Still a bloody idiot when it comes to women, I see.”
He shook his head, a small laugh escaping him.
“I can tell you like her, the way you talk about her.” she pressed
“I do, I like her a lot, but she’s my best friend. Nothing more.”
“Alright, I’ll take your word for it.” She lay back on the pillow. “Thousands wouldn’t.”
“Just a good I don’t need to convince thousands.” He leaned back in the chair, raising an eyebrow at her.
“No, just yourself.” She shot back and he sighed. “Talk to me Steve.” She pressed again and he took a deep breath.
“I don’t know, maybe…ok not maybe…I do like her you’re right, but it’s just so damn complicated.”
“Why?”
“We’re from different places, times.” he sighed, running a hand through his hair.
“Do you always have to be so dramatic?” She laughed
“You know, I’m getting tired of you calling me that.” He teased and Peggy laughed again.
“Because you are!” She shook her head. “Steve, I get it, you’re old…but, you’re not.” “Well that’s not confusing.” He rolled his eyes.
“What I mean is I have lived through these times, seen the world change, a lot of it for the better. Don’t let your life pass you by because you’ve still got one foot jamming open the door to the past”
“I know.” He popped a shoulder in resignation. “You know, sometimes I think it would be easier if I had my old life back, when times seemed a lot simpler.” “But then she wouldn’t be there.” Peggy raised her eyebrows. “You can miss something and not want it back, Steve. Just tell her how you feel, for goodness sake.”
“I don’t want to make an idiot of myself.” He shook his head. “If she doesn’t feel the same then-“
“Then at least you’ll know, and won’t live the rest of forever adding to that huge, great list of ‘what ifs’” the old woman shook her head “You’ve been given a second chance here Steve, don’t waste it. Barnes would be so mad at you right now.”
Steve had to fight a smile as he knew exactly what Buck would be saying if he were there.
“If you don’t ask her out, punk then I’m gonna…”
Suddenly a memory flashed in front of his eyes. The evening Peggy had walked into a pokey London boozer in that red dress, the one that had Bucky practically drooling and Steve’s crotch twitching slightly.
“I’m invisible…” Bucky moaned, turning back to the bar as she left, having just basically asked Steve to go dancing when the fighting was over.“I’m turning into you…”
“Never mind pal, maybe she has a friend…”
“You know, I’d like to see her again one day?” Peggy spoke, jerking him out of his thoughts “Katie, I mean.”
“Really?” he asked. Peggy had mentioned she had met Katie several times years ago, when she was a very small girl. Peggy and Howard had remained close until his death.
She nodded. “Especially if she’s as like Howard as you say.” “Alright, I’ll bring her in one day.” He said, before his phone beeped.
“When?” the old woman pressed.
“Were you always this impatient?” Steve quipped an eyebrow at her as he opened the message. It was a call in. He sighed “Soon, I promise.” He stood up. “Sorry Peg, I gotta go. Duty calls…”
*****
The mission was the retrieval of a stolen piece of Chitauri technology that had, according to Romanoff’s intelligence, been auctioned to some Arms traders operating out of Jordan. They were to intercept the piece of technology before turning over the dealers to the authorities. They were up against it time wise, and for that reason, everyone had boarded the jet with no real plan of what they were actually going to do, Steve had been thinking about it and studying the files since the jet took off and now he and Natasha had the bones of a strategy planned out, they just needed to flesh it out with the team.
“We’re at altitude.” Evans called from the cockpit. “Auto pilot engaged. ETA I hour 34.”
Everyone moved from their seats and crowded round the display as Natasha gave them a rundown of what they were up against.
“The main exits are here and here.” she span the blue prints round on the holodisplay. Katie frowned, her mind working fast “Evans and I can position ourselves here…” She pointed to the right of the screen. “That should give us a clear view of most of the grounds but there’s a blackspot here…” She moved her hand to the left, circling the bottom corner.
“Well we’ll just have to keep them away from there.” Steve said, and Katie glanced at him, his eyes flashing with humour. Their eyes remained locked, before Steve swallowed and he looked back round, clearing his throat. “There should be a clear run from where we touch down to the lawns.”
“Sure.” Katie nodded, making a show of looking at the detail, even though she wasn’t. Her mind was spinning. She’d been picking up signals from Steve for a few weeks now, signals that he might feel the same way as she did. The glances he gave her, the smile he would flash her that made her feel like there was no one else in the room. The gentle touches, the way he would lift her legs on movie nights so they were laying across his lap, how he would throw his arm round her when she’d lean into him, moments like the one that had just passed… but then, he made no effort to take things further and she wasn’t about to push him into anything. If there was something there, he had to decide, he had to make the decision he was ready to move forward.
And Katie wasn’t sure he ever would be.
“Rumlow, I want a STRIKE perimeter set up around the site. Cover that blackspot.” Steve looked at Rumlow who nodded. "The weapon is our main priority, but I want a clean sweep so they don’t have chance to do this again. Then I want you and Rollins with me and Romanoff inside to flush them out. Stark, Evans you to take down anyone who looks like they might break the perimeter, non-lethal if you can.”
Katie turned to Evans who nodded at her, the pair of them sharing a fist bump as he winked at her. Evans was a brilliant partner, and a good friend at that too. They worked well together.
The rest of the journey was spent pouring over blue prints, and once they reached the point where they could land safely, everyone was confident they were prepared as much as they could be. Whether that would be enough, was a different question.
Natasha and Steve slinked off into the shadows, heading to the building. There were two armed guards on the door but they had the element of surprise and took them out easily.
“Ok, we’re in…” Steve spoke. “Get ready, as soon as they see us they’ll make a run for it.”
Katie listened from her vantage point, a tall oak tree that overhung the South East side of the property, rifle trained, ready.
“I count six.” Natasha spoke
“At least three are armed.” Rumlow added
“Any sign of the weapon?” Katie asked.
“Negative…”
Katie kept her attention on the spot she was covering, and had to fight the giggle that threatened to erupt in her throat when she heard Steve utter, quite possibly, the cheesiest line he could have come out with when their team burst into the room.
“Auction is over Gentlemen. Where’s the Weapon?”
There was a split second and then all hell broke loose. Gun fire erupted in the ears of everyone listening on the coms along with the familiar sound of vibranium clanging off surfaces and people alike.
“One is making a break for it.” Rumlow yelled and Katie stiffened, raising her rifle slightly “Along with a case, it must be the weapon.”
“In pursuit.” Nat responded.“
He’s armed.” Steve shot back. “Someone cover her.” More gunfire and clanging rang out as Katie watched the door she was covering, not once breaking her line of sight. Suddenly it burst open and the man with the case flew out, shortly followed by a shock of red hair. But as Katie watched, her sharp eyes picked up movement in the shadow and someone barrelled at Natasha taking her down.
“Shit! Romanoff’s got company!”
“I’m handling it.” The red head grunted, jumping up.
Katie paused, before remembering the main operative.
“I’ve got no shot.” Evans spoke in her ear and Katie wheeled round locating the man in her sight. She cocked her gun, exhaled sharply, and pulled the trigger. Seconds later he hit the floor, clutching at his knee.
“Hostile down.” she informed, allowing herself a little smug smile before her attention turned to Natasha, who now had her target in a choke hold. He went limp and then she released him, dropping him.
“Well handled Widow.” Katie quipped.
“You do know that I can kill a man in twenty different ways, using just my hands, right?” Natasha replied, making her way over to the man with a bullet in his knee cap.
“Twenty?” Katie muttered, “I can think of, what, like eight, max?”
“Clearly you lack imagination, Nova.”
Once Steve was happy that the inside was clear and everyone was rounded up and secured, he made his way outside and headed over to where Natasha was kneeling over the briefcase. She opened it and grinned up at Steve, the black, silver and purple metal shining back up at them.
“The package is secure.” Steve smiled at Natasha, “Alright, Good job team. Rumlow, tell the Authorities they can move in, clear this lot up.”
“Sure Cap.”
“She’s good.” Natasha watched Katie join Evans where he was crossing the lawn, the two exchanging a hi-five before they made their way back to the jet.
“Yeah she is.” Steve nodded, allowing his eyes to follow Katie for a moment a she walked across the grounds.
“When you gonna ask her on a date?” Nat asked, turning to him as he picked up the case and they made their way back to join their team, the local police now swarming the place meant they were no longer needed.
“Seriously?” Steve looked at the red head rolling his eyes. “We’re in the middle of an op and you ask me that?”
“Well first off the op is over and second off I’m just trying to help. I see the way you look at her, like there’s no one else in the room.”
Steve floundered for a response. Was he really that obvious, or was Natasha simply that observant? He settled for a shake of the head, and an exasperated sigh. “You were trying to fix me up with someone from accounts not long ago.”
“Yeah that was before I decided Stark is a better match “ She shrugged, walking up the ramp to the jet.
Thankfully, Steve was spared responding as the jet was loud with cheering, the team all crowding Katie, taking turns to slap her back and congratulate her on a shot well taken.
Katie couldn’t help but grin as she removed her utility vest, before holding her hands up “Thanks but it was a team effort.” She felt a hand drop on her shoulder and she turned to Steve.
“If you hadn’t taken that shot he would have got away.” He looked at her. “All in a day work Cap.” she smiled.
“I mean it. You’re the best shooter I’ve seen since Buck.” He gave her shoulder a squeeze before instructing Evans to get them back to base.
As they flew back, Rumlow was engaging Katie in a conversation about a date he had had the previous weekend. Steve wasn’t really listening, but as Katie threw her head back in a genuine laugh at something Rumlow had said, gently nudging the man in the arm, it felt like someone was digging knives into his chest as the waves of jealousy crashed over him.
He glanced over at Romanoff who raised an eyebrow at him having seen the exchange and mouthed the word “just fucking ask her” and he looked away, irritated.
Steve wasn’t a chauvinist by any means, but he’d had enough that day of women telling him what to do.

May 2013
The start of May brought with it a week of nothing but rain. And it was during this week that Fury dropped a bombshell on Steve. The Smithsonian wanted to curate an exhibit about him, and SHIELD along with the Government thought it would be a good idea. Steve wasn’t entirely sure how he felt to be honest. He knew the world was fascinated with Captain America, but he wasn’t sure how he felt about them knowing about him, about Steve Rogers.
So this was how he’d ended up taking a trip down memory lane in an office at the Triskellion, surrounded by boxes of his belongings that had all been in storage, things he had long forgotten he had. He’d found his mother’s old ring, the one his father had bought her when they left Ireland, a St Christopher’s pendant that had belonged to his father, a few books which Katie told him were first editions and probably worth a fortune, a couple of old records, a stash of Photos which Katie was currently digging through and something that made his breath catch when his hand closed around it. His compass, the one containing Peggy’s photo.
“Steve.” Katie spoke and he looked at her. She gestured him over and he obliged as she held out the photo for him. He glanced down, a small smile crossing his face as he looked down at the photo of him and Bucky, both in their uniforms, laughing.  “Can you remember what you were laughing at?” she asked him.
“They had us doing this info documentary type thing, for the people back home.” He cleared his throat, taking the photo. “We were laughing at how utterly ridiculous and staged the whole thing was, like we would ever let press near our actual ops.”
Katie reached for the next photo and this one made her heart stop completely. Steve was on the left, looking at something that the man to his right was showing him on a screen. And that man needed no introduction.
“Dad…” she breathed out as Steve peered over her shoulder.
“He was a good man your father” Steve smiled as he thought of Howard “If a little… wild.”
“Wild? Dad?” She raised her eyebrow
“Yeah, he errr, liked to fondue…” Steve said, as he thought back to that conversation when he had thought fondue was some kind of innuendo for what Stark and Peggy got up to on their private time
“It’s just bread and cheese my friend…” Howard had said, clapping him on the shoulder.
“Really? But I thought…“
"Well that’s your first mistake pal. The minute you think you know what’s going on a woman’s mind is the moment your goose is well and truly cooked…”
“Wow, melted cheese…what a rebel” Katie snorted sarcastically.
“Well I thought it was…never mind,” he shrugged, absentmindedly turning over the compass in his hand and he opened it, glancing down at the photo inside for the first time in almost seventy years.
“Peggy?” Katie asked, looking down at the compass
“Yeah” he snapped it shut and then looked at her, deciding that the time was right. He wanted to take her to see Peggy. Not just because Peggy had asked him to, but because he wanted to. “Would you like to meet her?”
“Me?” Katie asked, surprise in her voice.
“Well yeah, you’re a big part of my life now and I know she’d love to see you again”
“I’d be honoured.” Katie replied, and she meant it. Peggy had been important to her father, and she was curious to meet the woman that had held her best friend’s heart. Steve beamed back at her, thrilled by her answer and as their eyes locked, he felt that warm feeling as the butterflies in his stomach woke up.
******
They sorted his belongings into three separate categories- things for the museum, some more stuff to take back to his apartment, and the remainder to go back to storage, before they headed over town to see Peggy. Giving Katie assurances he wouldn’t be long, Steve entered the room first, leaving Katie, who was feeling quite nervous, waiting outside.
She didn’t know where the nerves were coming from, after all she had met Peggy when she was a young child, but that was before she knew who she was. Back then she’d simply been a lady that worked with her daddy, and now she knew the truth.
Inside the room Steve quickly told Peggy where he had been and she smiled when he told her about the museum and the photos, quipping that she would quite like to see that when it was all open.
“That is if they ever let me out of this place. I swear breaking out of Alcatraz would be easier.”
He chuckled at her joke. “Well, today I brought someone to you so you don’t have to plan an escape just yet.”
The old woman instantly brightened up and beamed up at him. "Katie?”
Steve smiled at her excitement and nodded “Yeah.”
“Well don’t leave me waiting, again!” Peggy shooed him to the door and he stood up, opening it. Katie spun to face him, her hands wringing each other and he gave her what he hoped was an encouraging smile.
“Come on.” He held the door open. Katie took a deep breath, quelling her nerves and stepped into the room, Steve’s hand gently falling to her back as he guided her over to a seat by the bed.
It was easy for Katie to see that Peggy Carter had been a good looking, powerful woman in her day. Her eyes were bright, hair set in bouncy curls and she had a sort of regal quality emanating from her. She shrewdly eyed the brunette, before she chuckled and looked at Steve.
“Good grief!” Peggy smiled, looking back at Katie “Forgive me my dear, but you really do have that Stark look about you, but an awful lot of your mother too.”
Katie relaxed instantly and smiled back. “So I’ve been told. It’s an honour to meet you ma’am, again. I’ve heard so much about you.” “Please, call me Peggy” she smiled reaching for her hand “And I’m so pleased to see you again, it’s been a long time.”
Katie smiled, taking Peggy’s hand as the old woman continued.
“Steve talks about you a lot.” Peggy smiled and Katie glanced up at Steve, raising an eyebrow as he inwardly groaned, taking a deep breath.
 “Peggy…” he warned, somewhat exasperatedly.
“What?” she asked innocently “I’m just saying…” she turned to look at Katie “Steve says you’ve been a good friend to him since he came out of the ice. I’m glad he’s had someone.” “He’s a good friend to me.” Katie replied, smiling “Keeps me on the straight and narrow.”
“You mean I try to.” Steve teased, and he saw Peggy smile as he was sure Katie was rolling her eyes “She’s a law unto herself this one Peg, not unlike you were!”
“He’s very sensible.” Peggy loudly whispered to Katie, before the old woman levelled Steve with a look, her eyes flashing mischievously. “But I want to know, Steven, why on earth haven’t you taken this gorgeous young lady dancing yet?”
Steve groaned and looked at Katie, feeling the heat rush up his neck and into his cheeks as he could do nothing but mouth the word sorry. Katie’s cheeks also flushed a shade of pink and he looked away as he replied, dodging the question.
 “I can’t dance…you know that.”
“Everyone can dance, they just need the right partner.” Peggy looked at him, eyes locking onto his meaningfully. He swallowed again and Katie instantly picked up on his discomfort, she wasn’t stupid, the dancing thing clearly meant something and unless she was mistaken Peggy was implying something to do with her. Katie took pity on him and decided to save him his embarrassment so she spoke, breaking the moment.
“Well I won’t be much of a teacher, I’ve got two left feet.” she said, casually causing Steve to smile slightly shooting her a side glance.
*****
Steve would be lying if he said he hadn’t been slightly worried about introducing the woman who had been his first love to the girl he was harbouring feelings for now, but he needn’t have worried. Katie had laughed and joked with the old woman, often at his expense but he hadn’t minded. In fact, he had enjoyed it.
But that’s what Katie did. She made people feel better, at ease, knew what to say and when to say it.
And he’d decided there and then, buoyed by how well the meeting had actually gone, he was going to ask her out on a date. Today had brought everything into focus for him. Peggy was right, he couldn’t move forward and take the second chance life had given him if he had one foot in the past, one eye over his shoulder, and one part of his brain constantly wondering about what could have been.
Katie, meanwhile was locked in her own thoughts. The meeting with Peggy had put her slightly on edge. Not because of the old woman, in fact it had been amazing to meet her, but something about Steve changed as they left the Nursing Home. It was almost as if he was putting up a guard. She told herself it was normal, he was bound to feel confused after visiting his old flame and the whole thing with the museum, but part of her couldn’t shake off the feeling he was hiding something, and she didn’t like it.
She wasn’t an idiot. Steve and her had grown closer over the last few months and she knew to many it would be considered more than what you would dub a normal platonic relationship. She also knew, however, that he had ghosts in his past unlike any she’d ever dealt with before, which was what was making this entire situation ridiculously complicated.
She was pleased to see, however, that as they neared his apartment he relaxed and suggested that watch a film. They were still discussing which one as they climbed the three flights to his apartment.
“No.” He immediately deadpanned when she suggested watching the remaining Saw ones before he rolled his eyes when he clocked her grin. He hated those films, and she knew it. “Why don’t we start Star Wars? We never did get round to it…”
“Providing you don’t start the debate about which episode we begin with because if so I’m not sure I can be bothered trying to explain it again…” “I just don’t understand why you don’t start with one.” he took the opportunity to tease her as he slid the key into his lock.
“Because you don’t.” She said exasperatedly and he smirked at how easy it was to rile her when it came to films. ”It ruins the surprise and plot lines. You go Episode Four, Five and Six, then we hit One, Two and Three….”
They both turned as his neighbour, Kate walked onto the landing, bag over her shoulder, clutching a pile of mail.
“Hi Steve.” She smiled, unlocking her door.
“Hi Kate.” He greeted her back before he turned to Katie, who he realised had never met the woman before “This is my neighbour. Kate this is,”
“Katie.” she extended her hand, smiling politely.
“Katie Stark, I recognised you…sorry.”
“It’s fine” she said, still smiling. There was a pause and the faint sound of a phone could be heard.
“Sorry… I gotta’ get that.” Kate said quickly making her way into her apartment. “Goodnight Steve.”
“Night Kate.” He said in response. When he turned back around Katie was waiting, smirking at him.
“You’re as bad as Natasha.” He rolled his eyes, closing the door behind them as she stood front of him, kicking off her shoes.
“What you mean?” She asked walking through the small cloak area and into the hall way, heading straight for the kitchen.
“She keeps trying to set me up on dates” he sighed watching as Katie pulled two beers from his fridge.
“Who with?” Katie asked, frowning slightly, and she felt her neck and ears growing warm as the green eyed monster stirred.
“Pretty much anyone she can.” He snorted as they walked back into the living area.
“And none of them are…” She pressed, and he sighed.
“No.”
“Can I ask you something?” Katie sat next to him.
“If I say no are you gonna ask me anyway?” He looked at her. “Yeah.” She said after a pause. He snorted and gestured for her to go ahead.
“Peggy and you…how far did you actually get…I mean…”
Oh Jesus…
He contemplated brushing this one off, but then he realised he couldn’t lie to her, and he didn’t want to.
“We were supposed to go dancing.” He said gently, turning to face her, his right hand curling over the back of the sofa and she immediately understood then what that moment in the Nursing Home had been about. “Like on a date. I’d never been before, never found me the right person. And then I ended up in the ice before we got the chance.” He paused shook his head, “I know it’s dumb but…”
“It’s not Steve.”  Katie replied, and at that she felt the tears prick her eyes. The emotion of the day completely overwhelming her. This man, this wonderful man had been denied the opportunity to live his life how he should. Robbed of his best friend, his love and all because he’d done what he could to keep people safe, serve his country.
“Hey.” He frowed as he noticed she was getting upset. “What is it? What’s wrong, Doll?”
“I hate that all that happened to you.” she shook her head softly. “That you never got chance to do all those things, that you never got your dance or your happily ever after. You deserve more.”
“Katie.” he sighed, gently wiping away a tear that fell down her face with his thumb. “Taking that plane down was my choice. Don’t cry over it, please. I hate seeing you upset.”
And he did. Her face was made for smiles, her eyes should be happy and shining, not full of tears. “Sorry.” She dipped her head, and then, before he could stop himself, Steve reached out gently and his finger tilted her face back up to look at him.
Ocean blue met emerald green, and Steve felt his insides coil tightly like a spring as Katie’s eyes bounced across both of his, the distance between them growing shorter, and shorter…
And then there was a knock on the door. Steve closed his eyes, let out a sigh and unfolded himself off the couch. Cursing internally all the way to the door, Steve wrenched it open a little harshly and took a deep breath at the blonde at the other side.
“Sorry to interrupt…” Kate said, handing him a letter “But this was in the pile of mail I got before.”
“Oh, thanks…”
“Enjoy your film.” Kate smiled and Steve nodded. “Have a good evening.”
The door clicked shut and Steve turned and headed past the doorway to the lounge and into kitchen, dropping the bill on the side. He rest his hands, palms flat on the cool surface of the kitchen counter, hanging his head slightly and taking a deep breath. He was in deep.
“I’m gonna head home.” Katie spoke and he turned to look at her, his face falling. He didn’t want her to go. But instead of telling her that he merely nodded.
“Okay.”
Without another word she turned and left, leaving Steve stood alone in his flat, rooted to the spot, disappointment an anger lancing through his body like red hot pokers.
Outside the rain had started again, so Katie didn’t waste any time in getting to her car. She’d wanted nothing more than for Steve to ask her to stay, to prove to her that he wasn’t merely swept up in the emotion of the day, but he hadn’t. Which was all the answer to her unasked question she needed. They both had baggage, she knew that, but Steve Rogers came with an entire fucking suitcase.
She managed to start the engine before she felt the tears spring forth. Slamming her head against the head rest in frustration she wiped at her face.
She was in deep, and she had no idea what she was doing to do about it.

I have to be dreaming right? There’s no way on god’s green earth that he knows. I can’t believe he heard our conversation. I want to die in a hole. I look at the time and it’s nearly 3:00am. so I can’t call my friends since they’re all asleep. I toss and turn for what feels like years before slowly drifting to sleep
--
*the next day*
The rest of the girls decided to join us for lunch as well, I quickly get dressed and knock on Carly’s door to let her know that I’m ready. She comes out almost immediately and we both head to the restaurant in my car. I can tell she knows something is wrong, but she doesn’t ask the entire ride. We spot our other friends in a corner booth in the back and make our way over. We make small talk and lay out our schedules for the day.
“So... Sage, what happened last night?” Natalie asks, a concerned look on her face, our friends look at her in confusion
“Todd got a call from Jeff at like three in the morning. Is everything ok?” she repeats, I make a face and that’s all they need to know
“Oh my god, he knows doesn’t he..” Erin asks, I nod and feel tears welling in my eyes
“Yea.. it fucking sucks man. He basically told me that he only sees me as a friend and that he’s not over his fucking ex-girlfriend who only used him.. And it’s not like we were dating but I was so.. so in love with him” I reply, letting the tears fall as Corinna rubbed my shoulders and my other friends grabbed my hands
“And now I’m afraid things are going to be awkward when we all hang out together. I never ever wanted that, I don’t want anyone to feel like they need to chose between us like children during their parents divorce” I cry, letting all my emotions out, I’ve never been more thankful that we chose a small, quiet restaurant where we’re the only people here
“No, come on. I’m sure if you explain the situation to everyone they would totally understand” Carly explained, the other girls nodding in agreement
“I can’t.. I can’t explain to them. I don’t know how to put it into words and I don’t want them to be mad at Jeff. He’s their friend too and I know how protective everyone can be at times” I rant, they all nod along, their eyebrows furrowed as they think of something else
“Well, to be honest none of us had anything to do today. Why don’t we go back to your apartment and have another girl’s day? Get your mind off things and we’ll get all the takeout and listen to sad music” Erin suggests, I nod and ask Nat to text Mariah
After lunch we head back to the apartment. I feel like 1:00 pm. is an appropriate time to have some vodka right? I mean it’s 5:00 somewhere. I grab the bottle of Titos from my cabinet and pour it into a cup with some sprite and a lime. I made some for the girls and they all took a glass. We browse through Netflix and choose some Disney movies to watch. We started with the Princess and the Frog.
Four movies later and my phone started buzzing. Matt and Zane were asking where we all were because they were bored and David was busy editing and doing other work. I decided to let them come because they were like one of the girls. They showed up with Mariah and more alcohol.
“So baby what happened?” Mariah asks, I told her I wanted to wait until I could tell her in person
I explained the situation to the three of them, Mariah was incredibly irritated at Jeff, Matt and Zane were also pretty upset as well. I also explained how I didn’t want to make things awkward for everyone in the group and they shouldn’t have to feel like they have to choose between the two of us.
We ordered food for everyone and made more drinks. Out of no where Heath came by with Jason and Toddy. I hoped and prayed Jeff wouldn’t show up, not only because I’m heartbroken but because of the embarrassment I would have to feel.
An hour later everyone was pretty drunk except for Jason, Carly, and Erin who decided to stay sober for everyone who will probably need a ride home later. We were all laughing and having a great time, David hauled ass over here when he heard Zane and I were drunk.
“Oh fuck I forgot Ilya is landing in like an hour, who wants to come with me to pick him up?” David asks, Natalie and I raise our hands while everyone decides to stay back and just wait for us
The car ride over was us loudly singing along to David’s music. I brought some alcohol with me since I needed to escape and I know Ilya wants to turn the fuck up.
“Daddy Ilya” I yell, trying to catch his attention, David and Natalie groan from behind me at the horrible nickname
Ilya quickly runs to the Tesla and hops into the passenger seat. We drove back to my apartment while David filmed Ilya in the front drinking the rest of my vodka. Natalie grabs my arm and points the familiar truck in the garage...
... Who the fuck invited Jeff...
“What’s wrong princess peach?” Ilya asks, noticing that I was still in the Tesla
Natalie pulled the two guys away and explained as best as she could and as fast as she could. David and Ilya nodded their heads and walked over to me. I had shaken off my rush of anxiety while they were talking. To be honest, I don’t know if I’m upset with him for rejecting me or if I’m upset that he shows up to my apartment and will either pretend I don’t exist or pretend like nothing happened.
“Fuck it. Ilya, it’s your job to make me drunk as hell. Gimme” I said, taking the bottle from him and chugging the rest and using some leftover Red Bull
I unlock the door and step inside. Todd, Jeff, and Zane are in the living room talking... well Zane isn’t really talking and to be fair I don’t really know if he’s in this realm right now. The girls and Matt are all standing in the kitchen, giving Jeff side glares and talking in hushed voices. I close the door loudly to get everyone’s attention. They all turn to me and burst into smiles when the notice Ilya. They all greet him and I walk over to the side, grabbing a cup and making myself another drink.
“Shots for the boy” Todd yells, we all gather in the kitchen and I make sure to stand as far away from Jeff as possible, 90% out of embarrassment and 10% out of annoyance and anxiety
The ones who were drinking take shots and we all start catching up with Ilya. He’s telling us stories about work, and things he’s done with Deema. After a few minutes of catching up, the boys went to the parking lot to film some bits in David’s car. The girls gave me THE look and we went to my room and locked the door. Suzy listened while also keeping an ear out for them so there isn’t a repeat of the other night.
“I love Jeff, he’s one of my good friends.. but what the fuck was his thought process before coming here?” Carly asked, annoyed that not even 24 hours after he rejects me he shows up to my place
“Guys, it’s ok. I know this was supposed to be girls night but it turned into a hangout with everyone. And I’ll get over this eventually, I’ll be fine” I say, the room goes silent, even Suzy knows I’m definitely bullshitting
“I know you’re trying to make yourself feel better and trying to comfort us so we don’t worry about you. But babe... before lunch we didn’t know you were in LOVE love with him. Sure he didn’t know about your feelings, but at the same time I think a part of him had to know that the flirtationship between the two of you would’ve ended with someone catching feelings. It sucks that it has to be you. Please just allow yourself to be honest about how you feel. It sucks, but the sooner you confront your emotions the sooner you can start healing” Natalie said, I stare at her with my mouth ajar
“That’s a whole bible verse baby” I reply, feeling a lot better with this girl time but Suzy gives us a signal that the boys are back
We go to the living room and joke around for a few more minutes. After that everyone packs their things, and right when I’m about to go back in my room to get ready for bed I noticed Jeff lingering around a little bit. I shrug it off and enter my room.
“Hey..” a voice says, I freeze and immediately feel all kinds of emotions rise up, just one word and I’m already sobering up
“What do you want Jeff?” I ask, turning around and seeing him slumped over in my doorway
“I just wanted to check in” he replies, I sigh and sit on my bed
“Listen, I know we’re still friends and I know we don’t want to make things awkward for everyone, but for the sake of me and what I need, I would please like some time away from you. I’m really sorry, but I need to heal, I didn’t just have some middle school crush on you man.” “You don’t need to explain anything to me Sage” Jeff cuts me off but I shake my head and pat the space next to me so he can sit
“I’m in love with you. I wrote songs about you, I started craving your touch, your attention. I still loved you at your worse. Believe me, I wanted to make a move but I had no guarantee that you were going to love me back. And now I know, at the end of the day I’ll never be her” I reply, Jeff immediately knew who I was talking about, Ava
Ava and Jeff were together for a few short months, but believe me when I say this was like walking through a dumpster fire on a unicycle that was also on fire. It was clear to everyone from the start that Ava was with him s imply because he was slowly gaining popularity and well... his looks. Long story short apparently they got into a huge fight one night and she admitted that she was only using him for her own gain. It was a touchy time for all of us and Jeff, we told him what we thought and eventually found out (through our fans on insta who are little detectives) and he didn’t want to hear it.
“I should go. I’ll give you your time..” he says quietly, I nod and walk him to the door
After he leaves I slide my back down the door and pull my knees to my chest. I just lost my best friend because I couldn’t keep my dumbass mouth shut. Emotions come rushing through me and I can’t help but cry. I want nothing more than to scream and just crawl into a hole right now. After letting myself accept the sadness I got up and went back to my room. It’s time for me to start moving on.. or at least trying to.

Episode 23: Viva Las Vegas
September 2014
Ready for a night on the town, Chris sat on the sofa in the main living area of the penthouse that he had rented for himself and his friends in celebration of Brock and Tessa expecting their first baby.
Having come straight to Las Vegas after filming had wrapped on the second Avengers movie, Chris had been in town since last night while his friends had only arrived from LA that afternoon. He'd taken the master bedroom and had left the other four to figure out sleep arrangements for themselves. There was always a fight, but in the end, they all usually crashed on the closest bed available regardless of the decisions made earlier in the evening.
90's club music played on the penthouse sound system, making Chris feel more comfortable. It had all been too big and too quiet last night when he'd arrived. He'd planned to just go straight to bed, but that had been derailed when he'd gone into the ensuite bathroom and saw the large bathtub. His thoughts had instantly gone to Ellie and her love of taking baths; specifically, in the large soaking tub in his bathroom at home.
With his mind plagued with thoughts, he'd spent thirty minutes swimming laps in the private pool before taking a shower in the guest bathroom and going to bed, with the doors to the ensuite closed.
"Do you want to talk about it?" a voice asked from behind him.
Pulled out of his thoughts, Chris turned and saw Chucky Kellie standing in the doorway.
Not sure what to say, Chris stayed quiet, but Chucky took that as an invitation to join him.
"Tanya talked to Ellie," Chucky explained. "They invited her to the baby shower back in July. She said that you guys broke up."
"You and Ellie broke up?" another voice piped in.
"I was wondering why you looked like someone had stolen your favorite stuffed animal," a third voice said.
A grunt followed that comment and Chris didn't have to look behind him to know that Bryant had just elbowed Ray in the stomach for his remark.
"Are you guys going to go into the room or are we going to just stand here all night?" the last of his friends, Brock, asked.
Their arrival had given Chris time to think about whether or not he wanted to talk about the Ellie situation. He knew if he said he wasn't ready, they'd all go along with it and they'd go out to dinner and do a bit of gambling just like they'd planned. But even he knew it was time, past time, in fact.
Ever since that fateful day in front of his house, he'd made a point to be honest with himself even if the truth hurt. It had been easier, he supposed, thousands of miles away and busy with work. But now he was officially on a break from filming until the new year. It had seemed ideal, when he'd been planning it, to have fall and winter to relax and get back a sense of peace. But now that it had started, it seemed almost overwhelming. Especially since he had yet to decide where he was going to spend said time off.
One of the guys cleared his throat, subtly reminding Chris that they were all waiting for him to decide if he was up to talking about it or not.
Sighing, Chris said, "Ellie and I broke up."
The lack of reaction made him wonder if they'd all already known. He hadn't known Tanya to be a gossip, but he supposed she would have had to explain Ellie's absence at the baby shower to the other wives. Said wives would have then passed on the information to their husbands and then everyone would have known.
"Did she break up with you?" Ray probed, gently.
"It might have been easier if she had," Chris mused, defeatedly.
The time had come, he realized, to divulge everything that had been going on in his head and in his relationship with Ellie to someone else. As odd as it seemed, the words started coming to him easier than he thought they would. He supposed it was because, while his friends knew Ellie, they had been his best friends since before he'd been famous. They always had his back.
He knew Scott did, too. But it was different.
At the end of the day, Chris knew that his brother would choose him over anyone else that came between them. But when it came to Ellie, Chris knew she had a special bond with his brother. Scott had been with them virtually every setup of the way as they'd gone from being friends to more. And now Scott had been by Ellie's side through the aftermath of it all.
"The first time Ellie and I met," Chris found himself telling his friends. "I was completely naked." He'd never planned to share that story with anyone, but with these four, he felt like he needed to be honest and start at the beginning.
As expected, the four idiots spent a good five minutes laughing after he shared how he and Ellie had met when his mom had hired her as a housekeeper behind his back.
Once they'd calmed down, he continued the story. How he and Ellie had only spent a few weeks with each other before they'd had to share a bed not once, but twice. Then how the two of them, and Scott, had gotten close watching sports and spending time together.
"Wait, let me get something straight," Bryant interrupted. "Are you saying that the two of you hadn't even kissed when we had the kickoff party?"
"We hadn't," Chris confirmed and then followed it up with, "Did it seem like we had?"
His friends exchanged looks before Brock said, "We thought the two of you had been dating when you brought her to the wedding. Your chemistry…"
"What Brock is trying to say, is that you and Ellie seemed like you'd already known each other for a long time when we all met her," Chucky said, cutting in. "The two of you just looked so at ease."
"Even Kady and I noticed," Ray chimed in. "And we spent maybe 5 minutes with you guys."
"And then the way you two were sassing each other at the kickoff party," Bryant added.
Chris nodded as their comments brought to mind one of the fears that had plagued him; that everything had been too easy from the beginning with Ellie.
"It was easy, easier than it had ever been with anyone I've ever dated," he admitted to them. "Ellie and I spent a lot of time at home watching sports. Scott was with us most of the time, but not all the time. We just fell into an easy pattern and then I kissed her at Fenway Park after the Red Sox won the World Series."
"DUDE!" Ray exclaimed, making them all laugh. "Sorry, but that's just awesome." Considering Chris knew that Ray and Kady had met at a Dodgers game, he wasn't surprised his friend felt that way.
"Is that when you two started to officially date?" Brock asked, redirecting the conversation.
Chris shook his head and then chuckled at the memory. "She returned the kiss," he said. "But then she hid from me the next day. And then we went to a Halloween party with my brother and younger sister. I cornered her in a room and made her talk to me." Realizing how bad that sounded he quickly continued, "I mean, I waited for her to get out of the bathroom and asked her if we could talk."
Ray made kissing noises and Chris threw a pillow at him.
"Did you two kiss that night?" Chucky prompted and then smirked when Chris's face flushed.
"Fuck you all," Chris grumbled as they laughed. "Yes, fine. We made out and we might have gone farther if another couple hadn't barged into the room."
Ray let out a catcall.
"How are you married?" Brock asked him.
"Kady loves me," Ray said with a shrug. "But back to story time, Evans. Is that when you two started hooking up?"
Chris shook his head. "She went back to LA the next day and I stayed back east," he told them. "But after kissing her, I knew I wanted to kiss her again. And I really missed her. We had been spending so much time together and then suddenly we weren't. I mean, we texted a lot, but it wasn't the same."
"And when you said you wanted to kiss her again, you mean you wanted to date her right?" Bryant asked.
"Yes, definitely," Chris replied though he felt his heart twinge at the memory. He'd been so convinced last fall that he and Ellie were meant to be together. "She hadn't been so sure. She didn't want to ruin our friendship if it didn't work out."
Those words sucked the humor out of the room and out of the corner of his eyes, he saw his friends straighten. Shit was getting real now.
"I told her that it would be ok," he said with a sigh. "That we owed it to ourselves to explore our feelings. Because she told me she liked me, too." He told them about Ellie's encouragement while he was directing his movie, how he'd encouraged her to submit her resume for an editing job and how she'd told him over the phone on Christmas Eve that she wanted to give them a try.
He didn't get graphic in the details of what had happened in January, but he confirmed that he had taken her up to the bed and breakfast for a romantic getaway. And that he'd helped her celebrate the Seahawks' Super Bowl victory.
"So what happened?" Brock asked him. "When we saw you guys at the Super Bowl, you could hardly keep your hands to yourself. But then at the premiere…"
"They were secretly dating," Chucky reminded him. "He couldn't have his hands all over her."
"Obviously, but Brock is right, things weren't the same that night," Bryant argued before he looked at Chris. "Did something happen?"
"Other than getting messed up in my own head, no," Chris admitted. He sighed and told them about his journal. He knew that Chucky knew about them, after all the two of them had shared a bedroom at one point, but he didn't know the full context of them.
"And you completely shut her out when you got home?" Brock said with a frown after Chris told them.
Chris nodded. "I was so stuck in my own head, I didn't know what to do," he confessed.
The joking from earlier had stopped now that he'd gotten into the serious part of his tale. They'd been through situations like this with him before and he trusted that they'd pull him back from going too far.
Taking a deep breath, he dove headfirst into the abyss that was the downfall of his and Ellie's relationship.
"I wanted to be with her," he told them. "But at the same time, my head kept telling me that it wasn't the right time to be in a real relationship. She didn't press me to get out of the house, to go out in public with her. So we were able to keep it a secret."
He should have taken her out. He realized that now. He shouldn't have kept her a secret.
"Then everyone came for the premiere and there I was, dating someone my mom really liked and I couldn't bring myself to even tell my mom about it," he continued. "My mom isn't stupid though. I'm sure she knew what was going on. But I couldn't bring myself to say anything about it. And I don't know if Ellie wanted to tell her or if she was just following my lead on the whole situation."
He should have told his mom. She would have been happy for them both.
"And the real kicker is that I had to watch my sister introduce my girlfriend to my dad," he said. "It should have been me. That should have been a special moment for the three of us. But I just… I couldn't."
He felt a hand squeeze his shoulder, offering him strength with his confession.
"Tara figured it out and said she approved," he told them. "Then I went on the press tour… and came home to find Ellie's older sister and her husband in town. They weren't staying at the house, but we had dinner with them. I liked them and I thought they liked me, too. But then the next night…"
He paused to gather his thoughts, because it was getting harder for him to talk about it all now. He thought he'd gotten past the pain, but it had been simmering under the surface.
"The next night, Ellie had a fight with her sister, who didn't like that she was living in my house, working for me and sleeping with me," he explained. "She offered Ellie money to help her find her own place. Ellie didn't take it well and she came home upset. She told me about it…"
"And it fed into the fears you already had in your head," Brock surmised.
Chris nodded then explained, "I pulled away again, but not completely. It wasn't fair to Ellie. I see that now. I wasn't there for her, but I wanted her in my bed and to be there for me."
He felt a mixture of shame and relief as he admitted it out loud.
"She tried to get through to me, but I was so stuck in my head," he sighed. "Then I had a bad dream and made a huge mistake. Easily the biggest mistake of my life." He took a deep breath, trying to work up the courage to explain.
"Here," Ray said, tapping his hand with a shot glass filled with liquid. "I think you need this."
Chris accepted the shot and tossed it back. It burned, but it was almost a welcome relief.
"Do you need a break?" Brock asked him. "We can order room service."
Chris wanted to say no, wanted to continue, but he knew he needed a break.
"Get me a burger," he told Brock. "I'm going to get some air."
Getting up, Chris went outside to the private balcony. Somehow, they'd managed to create a relaxing outdoor oasis in the middle of Las Vegas and hundreds of feet in the air.
While he felt better getting stuff off his chest, he knew the worst was yet to come. He knew his friends wouldn't judge him for his actions, but he didn't know if any of them could mask their disappointment in him.
Hearing the door open behind him, Chris looked over and saw Brock. "We ordered dinner, they said it would be about forty minutes. We told them not to rush since we're nobody special."
A chuckle escaped Chris's lips. His friends were part of the reason he was who he was. They helped keep him grounded.
"You ready?" Brock asked him.
"No, but I want to get it over with," Chris replied. "Do we have beer?"
"Ray and Bryant were popping tops when I left the other room," Brock told him.
Chris followed his friend back inside and to the main living area. Sure enough, five beers were sitting on the coffee table with a bag of chips.
"Thought we might want a snack," Chucky said with a shrug.
Once they were all settled, Chris continued his story. "I had a dream that Ellie and I were together and we had a kid. But she was leaving me because I couldn't give her enough time because of my job," he told him. "And in the dream, she said she should have listened to her sister."
"Fuck," Ray breathed.
"Add the dream to my other thoughts and it was the making of a bad situation in my head," Chris said with a nod.
"So what was the mistake?" Bryant asked cautiously.
"I left," Chris told him. Then clarified. "In the middle of the night. Without saying anything to her."
"Dude…" Ray said, his voice laced with disbelief.
"And when you say you left?" Brock prompted.
"I packed my suitcase and left early for filming," Chris replied.
"Fuck," all four of his friends chorused.
"What did Ellie say when you two talked?" Brock asked him.
Chris didn't say anything as he felt his stomach churning. He focused on the beer bottle in his hand as he tried to will back the emotions that were bubbling just under the surface.
"Chris, please tell me that you and Ellie have talked," Brock said, quietly.
"I can't," he whispered as he blinked back his tears. "And now it's too late."
"What do you mean it's too late," Ray demanded.
"It's been 5 months," Chris said with a shrug. "I thought she was just mad at first. Which I understood, but I thought she'd at least make sure I was ok. And then when she didn't…" He took a shaky breath. "I texted Scott, checking on her. And that's what really ended it. I shouldn't have involved him and I did. And it's a fucking disaster now."
A part of him wanted to stop there, but he knew he couldn't. "I went to see her at the end of July when I found out she was moving out of my house," he explained. "There was a guy with her. And it was clear that she'd moved on."
"Clear how?" Bryant asked, his question immediately followed by a grunt of pain. "Fuck off! It was an honest question. I mean if he saw her making out with some guy, then yeah, she moved on. But if it was just a hug, maybe it was just innocent."
"I didn't stay long enough to see them kissing," Chris told him. "I told the driver to leave as soon as I saw them hugging."
A knock on the door of the penthouse saved him from having to answer any more questions. At least at that moment. He knew his friends wouldn't let the conversation stop there.
Once the food was rolled in, they migrated to the dining table to eat their dinner. Chris was silent as he ate, but the other four made small talk.
It wasn't until an hour later, when they were taking turns playing pool that Chucky asked, "Let's pretend Ellie hadn't moved on for a second. If you knew she was still single, what would you do?"
"I don't know," Chris admitted. "I fucked up."
"Forget that for now, too," Chucky said. "How do you feel about Ellie right now?"
"I think I'm in love with her." The words came out of Chris's mouth without a second of thought. They caught even him off guard, but as they settled, he realized that it was the truth. He'd spent the last six months listening to his head and ignoring his heart. Clearly, his heart had known what was really going on.
"Does that change anything for you?" Brock questioned.
"Yeah," Chris said with a nod. "But not in the way you think. I didn't treat Ellie like I should have. If this guy she is with now is treating her like she should be treated, what right do I have to ruin that for her?"
"But you love her," Ray retorted.
"Isn't there a saying about how sometimes you have to love someone enough to let them go?" Chris said with a small shrug. "Besides, I'm spending the fall and winter back home in Sudbury."
"You are?" Bryant asked. "Since when?"
"Just decided," Chris replied. He shook his head. "I can't go back to the house in LA. There are too many memories there that I'm not sure I'm ready to process."
He saw his friends exchange looks but in the end they all nodded.
"Just know we're here if you need us," Chucky told him.
"I know, thank you," Chris said.
A few days later, Chris went home to Massachusetts and his mom's house. It took him a few days to settle in and to fit himself into the rhythm of the household, but he knew it was the best place for him to be.
It was at the start of his second full week that his mom had gotten the email from Ellie that he had suspected was coming: her two weeks’ notice. His mom had forwarded him the email, since it concerned his house, and he hadn't planned on reading it at all. Then, he'd woken up in the middle of the night with a sudden urge to hear Ellie's voice. He knew he couldn't call her, but he knew reading the email would let him hear her in a way and maybe offer him some closure.
Dear Lisa,
I want to thank you for taking a chance on me last year. You could have hired anyone to be the housekeeper and we both know there were people more qualified than I am. Instead, you chose me and for that I am eternally grateful.
Between my hours at the bookstore and my editing jobs, I find myself running out of hours in the day and during the week. Given that Scott is living in Chris's house permanently, I feel like it is time for me to move on from my job there.
Thank you again for taking a chance on me. It was the kindness of yourself and your family that helped me get to where I am now, finally doing the job I always dreamed of.
Sincerely,
Ellie Spencer
A bittersweet feeling came over him as he closed the email app on his phone. Setting the phone back on the bedside table, he stared up at the dark ceiling. He'd hoped to find relief in reading her words, but he hadn't. Instead, he longed to actually hear her talk. To hear her laugh.
As he remembered her laughter, a small smile tugged on his lips. It wasn't one of those melodic ones that people rave about. It was a real laugh. The kind of laugher that included snorts, wheezes and a fully body response. God, he'd loved making her laugh.
Sighing, Chris rolled onto his side. While his mom thought Ellie was just too busy to go to the house, he knew the truth. Ellie was cutting all her ties to him, and after everything he had put her through, he couldn't say he blamed her.
Then his thoughts went to his brother. What would this all mean for Scott's relationship with Ellie? Would she cut him off, too? He hoped she wouldn't and not only for the selfish reason of knowing how she was doing. No, he knew that she was an important person in his brother's life and Scott deserved the best.

Jim’s Best Friend
Part Twenty Two - Talking Technology, 2/2
Tumblr media
Word Count: +3.2K
Author’s Note: Agh, here it is! I was struggling to edit this chapter, get it just right, but I hope you like it! Bit of Jim x Reader fluff for you, not a lot of plot for this one, but Dinner Party is coming soon, but some more Y/N drama sooo... stay tuned.
Warning: none
For previous chapters, click here.
March, 2008.
"Today is the launch party, and I can say with a whole lot of certainty I don't actually want to stay late tonight." Y/N said to the camera, looking over at Jim, who was sat to her left, their hands brushing against each other. He smiled at her words, at her laugh.
"Ryan's party is happening tonight over conference call. And we were planning to appear for exactly 9 minutes and 32 seconds-" Jim began to laugh, Y/N practically bouncing in her seat.
"It's statistically the most comfortable point to leave a meeting." She exclaimed with pride. "Ever since I became receptionist, I started noting down reactions during meetings. 100% the best time to leave anything you don't want to be at is 9 minutes and 32 seconds in."
"Anyway. There's a movie marathon going on at the cineplex, we thought we could spend our night doing something that's actually fun." Jim nodded as he spoke, finally taking Y/N's hand in his and giving it a squeeze.
"Oh, meeting Jim's parents?" Y/N repeated the producer's question, going a little red in the face. "I think they like me, which is great. I don't know what I would do if they didn't." Jim rolled his eyes.
"They love her, just like I..." He trailed off, the pair both blushing. Jim quickly smiled to the team, leading Y/N out into the bullpen, the pair bursting into laughter as they left.
--
Tonight was the Launch Party for the website, and the past week had been constant prepping and planning on your part. While Angela had been in charge of the party itself, Ryan had brought you on as a languages assistant, as bizarre as it sounded, to make sure translations into other languages were fluent and accessible. You had checked everything out from top to bottom, the task taking up a lot of your evenings, and you were more than glad that you could now just focus on copying files and sending out emails, forwarding calls.
The day of the launch, you sat in the break room, Jim by your side, taking a chance to have a coffee and a catchup. Both you and Jim hadn't seen each other outside of work since the Saturday morning before, your extra hours mixing with something Jim was planning, though he wouldn't say what. Now, having officially signed off papers with Toby to make your relationship official, you could hold his hand in the office without fear of being caught.
"So, uh, I don't know how to tell you this..." Jim started, your face falling immediately. His usual playful tone wavered, his hand squeezed yours tighter. You couldn't help but expect bad news. "Dwight and Angela... They've been dating for like, eight months now." Jim stage whispered, taking a deep breath as he got it off his chest, his undeniable smile returning. And you had to laugh: a mixture of relief and the fact that Jim was totally off the mark. "Yeah, I was going to wait to tell you, but I've been holding back."
"Well, Pam told me otherwise." You responded, taking a drink of your coffee, a smirk on your lips. "Try two years... And they broke up."
"What? When? How?" Jim seemed astounded. "How could you not tell me?"
"You didn't tell me..." You retorted, biting your lip to hold back a giggle. "Before your barbeque, if you can believe. And, from what Pam has reported, it was all sorts of chaos. But, to sum it up, Dwight mercy killed Angela's cat."
"Dwight killed Sprinkles?"
"Dwight killed Sprinkles."
"Wow..." Jim muttered, running a hand through his hair. He had trimmed it again, even taken the time to style it that morning instead of his dashin Boy Charming look he usually went for. Before the pair of you could discuss more, Phyllis knocked on the break room door, and you removed your hand from Jim's, waving her in.
"Phyllis, you don't need to knock, it's the break room." You reminded the older coworker, who smiled and looked you over.
"Your new shoes are nice, Y/N." Phyllis complimented you, and you smiled. "Just so you know though, when a new client calls you can't just transfer them to Jim, there are other salepeople on the floor. You can't base everything off of your sex life." The insult came quick, and you did your best to keep the smile on your face, nodding and waving as she disappeared again, you and Jim sharing a look. It only took you a few more moments to finish your coffee, standing from your chair and dumping the cup in the trash.
"I should go, I have calls to transfer to everyone but you." You said with a nervous laugh, heading for the door before Jim quickly grabbed your hand, spinning you back to face him.
"Don't work too hard, ok? You deserve a break, the last thing you needed was Phyllis on your tail." Jim comforted you, giving your hand a final squeeze before you headed back out to the reception desk, taking your seat, calling back the first voicemail on the machine.
"Of course sir. I can transfer you to a salesperson now." You said after a few minutes on the phone, transferring the call straight to Phyllis, hoping it might get her off your back. By the smile on her face, you had managed to acheive the hoped for outcome.
"Y/N, my dear, sweet Y/N." A voice called to you, Michael stood at his office door, his eyes bloodshot from a distance. "Will you come in here?" He asked, and you quickly grabbed a notepad, used to Michael's ramblings. Last week he had asked you into a meeting to jot down a new casserole recipe. "That won't be needed." He said quickly, walking back to his desk, urging you to follow him. You walked into the office as Jim walked back out of the annex, you sending a shrug his way as you locked eyes.
"Michael, what can I assist with?" You asked, closing over the door and taking a seat. The tissue pile on his desk made it abundantly clear he had been upset. "What did Jan do?" you asked, leaning forward and holding out a hand, with Michael quickly took. Ever since he and Jan had gotten together again, which you often reminded yourself was because of Jan's boobjob, Michael's life had slowly spiralled downhill. He wasn't as happy as usual, he had even sold the Sebring, though he wouldn't say why. Jan wasn't in New York anymore, currently unemployed, and Michael was the sole income maker in that dreadful condo.
"I'm meant to be at this New York for this party tonight, VIP, exclusive, and Jan won't come with me. Said it was stupid..." Michael huffed, throwing a tantrum like a four-year old, causing you to sigh.
"What do you need me to do? Tell her you're in meetings all day?" You asked, and Michael shook his head.
"Would you come to the New York party with me? Be my plus one? I don't want to look like a loser." Michael begged, and you couldn't help but glance at the door. You had noticed the movie tickets on Jim's desk earlier, he had already gone to the toruble of buying them. You looked back at Michael and smiled, quickly standing up.
"Can I get back to you at lunch?" You asked, and Michael nodded, still looking sad. "Thanks, Michael." You smiled briefly, slipping out of the office and being met by Jim's smile, his chair turned to face you.
"No inappropriate conduct in the workplace." Dwight said in a drawl, his eyes not moving from his screen. It might have been the first time you had seen Dwight unshaven, his tie loose and his shirt buttoned wrong. Both you and Jim chose to ignore him.
"What happened in there?" Jim asked, and you took a seat on his desk.
"Michael needs a plus one for the New York party, asked me to go..." You said softly, Jim's hand coming to your leg, rubbing a circle on your thigh. "I think I have to cancel date night. Any chance you can get those tickets refunded?"
"This doesn't sound like taking work easy." Jim said with a smile, and you sighed. "No problem, we can go tomorrow." He assured you, the fax machine beeping and forcing you back to work. It was the last thing you wanted to do, but Jim sent you off with a pat on the leg and a lopsided grin, silently promising you it was alright that you went to New York.
You headed back to your desk, reading the fax from Corporate over quickly, waving Michael out of his office. He moved with little enthusiasm, taking three times the usual amount of time to get to your desk, and huffing as he stood across from you.
"Michael, the Corporate press release." You passed the fax over to your boss.
"The what?"
"I emailed you on Tuesday about it? Ryan wants you to share it with everyone." You reminded him, taking a deep breath and forcing a smile. "Also, I made sure I can go to New York tonight. I'll drive us." You added, hoping to lift his spirits a little.
"He wants me to share it, does he?" Michael asked, a small smile forming as he processed the information you gave him.
"Yes, he does."
"Mm... Ok." Michael sighed, turning to the rest of the office. "Attention Earthlings. I have some news." He started to make beeping noises, and you tried not to groan too loudly. "Ok. Today's the big day that I'm heading to New York to attend a party with sushi and important people. On an unrelated note, if anyone has an interesting anecdote that is not boring and easy to memorise, please drop by my office before I leave. Thank you."
"Whoops." Jim said, his eyes having scanned over the fax in Michael's hand as he spoke. "Was that really what Ryan wanted you to tell us?" He asked Michael, sending a wink your way as you replied with a grateful smile.
"And..." Michael glance at the note in hand quickly. "Today the Dunder Mifflin Infinity website officially launches. The comapny is projecting record high sales, and that by 6 o'clock, the website will be the new best salesman in the company." Michael finished, heading back for his office. "Wow, watch out Dwight."
"That's ridiculous." Dwight responded, monotone. "I'm not gonna be beaten by a website."
"Actually, it sounds like you are." Jim cut in, teasing his coworker.
"Really?" Like always, Dwight fell straight into the trap, getting defensive. "Cause Ryan says so?"
"That's from Ryan?" Kelly asked. "Does it mention if he's seeing anybody?" The last time Ryan had been in the office, Kelly had lied about being pregnant. It was fun to watch Ryan become flustered, you weren't going to lie.
"No, it doesn't. I'll find out tonight." Michael said quickly.
"Yes." Stanley rolled his eyes. "Please let us know." He said sarcastically, causing you to bite back a laugh.
"I can make more sales than a computer." Dwight announced, pulling attention back to his point. "In fact, I challenge that website to make more sales than me today."
"Waste of time..." Angela spoke up, her head in her files, drawing a frown from Dwight's expression.
"What's that, Pipsqueak?" Michael asked, taking a chance to taunt the petite woman. You weren't bothered by it, Angela had said more than enough about you to make you dislike her.
"Waste of time." She reapeated. "The website's going to win."
"You believe a computer can beat me?" Dwight looked genuinely hurt by the insinuation.
"I don't care, but yes."
"Well, I will prove you wrong."
"I don't care and you won't." The two ex-lovers went back and forth, and a text pinged through on your phone.
That's a healthy relationship right there... xx
Jim had texted, and you sent a playful glare his way, making him smile a little wider. The next thirty minutes focused on Andy and Dwight drawing up a plan of attack for Dwight to beat a computer, a computer, at selling paper, Jim taking every opportunity to wind them both up. Angela and Phyllis were focusing on set up for the satellite party, and you pretended your very hardest to look busy, so as to not get roped into anything. Angela and Dwight were both unpleasant to begin with, you didn't need any of it directed at you that day.
Jim came over to your desk just as the website went live, hands in pockets as he walked over to your desk, just as you finished up a call.
"What would you say if I told you we could pull a prank on Dwight and, at the same time, not be working?" Jim asked quietly, quickly adding on to it when your brow furrowed. "You need a chance to chill today, and if we can't do movies, this is a good alternative." He offered. With a smile like his, you could never say no, you knew that. He knew it too.
"Jim, he's just been dumped." You tried one last time to convince your boyfriend it might not be a good idea.
"Yeah, I'm aware of that. But's he's also being super anmoying, and I'm not a perfect person." A sudden air horn followed Jim's words, and your eyes widened.
"What do you have in mind?" You asked, Jim explaining the ruse to you while picking up a file, doing his best to be discreet. You quickly opened up the office's instant messenger system, signing in as 'DunMiff/sys'.
You had a few hours to kill before driving to New York, and the smile Jim gave you as he headed back to his desk, so proud of you both, it made the next few hours of torment seem a lot more fun.
--
You were kind of glad to leave the office early, even if it meant driving for two hours to New York, and bailing on date night with Jim. You both knew Michael needed to boost, and after Dwight had told you to fuck off in binary code, it seemed like a good idea to leave before it turned ugly.
You were leaving Pennsylvania as the ringing from the bear horn finally subsided from your ears, and glanced over to see Michael reading 'Green Eggs and Ham' by Dr Suess to your right.
"Have you read this?" Michael asked, and you nodded, keeping your eyes on the road.
"When I was four I did, yeah. It's a kids book." You replied, kind of confused why Michael had brought it with him.
"I got it for Ryan. I wanted to get him 'Oh The Places You'll Go' but they were sold out at Barnes and Noble."
"You realise the books are really, really not the same right?" You let out a little laugh, shaking your head. Michael was oblivious at the best of times, and you were quite glad that no-one else in the office was having to ecperience this conversation in your place.
As you finally left Pennsylvania, Michael suddenly blew two kisses into the air.
"It used to be one." You commented. "Whenever you left, you always have blown one before."
"One for me, one for Jan." Michael explained, and you nodded in understanding. "You know, you and Jim should come over for dinner sometime."
"Oh, uh, I don't know Michael."
"What about next Friday?"
"You know Jan and I sort of fell out..." You said honestly, and Michael decideed not to push the subject further. For the past year, Jan and your relationship had been rocky, and you, quite frankly, didn't like the way she treated Michael one bit. "Can you start giving me directions? Tell me where we're going?" You asked, changing the subject. It seemed to be a good idea, Michael perking back up as he read out the information from a printed sheet of paper.
"I can tell you right now, and shall, my good friend. It's a club called Chatroom, and there's a password to get in, which is actually 'password', so..." Michael nodded as he read along, and you let out a sigh, quickly pulling off at the next turn off. "What are you doing?"
"Are there 'w's before the name of the club, Michael?" You asked, pulling into the rest stop and parking the car.
"Yes, why?"
"It's an invitation to the online party..." You said, pulling out your phone to call Jim.
"But... I need to call Ryan." Michael decided, stepping out of the car. You quickly dialled jim's number, glancing at the time. If you were lucky, you might be able to make that movie marathon still.
"Well, hello. What do I owe the pleasure? Aren't you driving?" Jim asked, and you let out a strained laugh.
"It was an invite to the online party, Michael is shouting down his phone to Ryan now... I have a feeling I'll be back in Scranton by the time that satellite party starts, and I really need something fun tonight." You confessed, finally agreeing with Jim. This whole launch had done nothing but stress you out. The dashboard clock hit 6 o'clock.
"I still have the tickets for the movies, and a surprise for when you get back." Jim assured, and you smiled.
"Hey, how did Dwight do?" You asked, and Jim took a moment.
"He won..." The disbelief was real, and it made you smile. Jim always made you smile.
"Is Angela getting on at him?"
"A little."
"Does he look sad?"
"Yeah."
"AI systems are fair players Jim... He needs to be congratulated." You instructed, saying a quick goodbye as Michael got back into the car. "Everything good?"
"Back to Scranton... I have a party to upstage." Michael declared, and you sped off back west, trying to hold onto the idea of a movie date with Jim instead of focusing on Michael's rage-driven ramblings about Ryan.
By the time you got back to Scranton, it was maybe fifty minutes or so until the party began. Michael began marching around, ordering Angela about to make the Scranton brnach party better than the New York corporate one, but by this point you were tired, so mentally exhausted from extra work and the nonsense of the day that you began collecting your stuff, just desperate to get out of the office.
"So, I know you said that you leave 9 minutes and 32 seconds into a party, but is there any chance I could convince you to leave 46 minutes and 13 seconds before one instead?" Jim came up to your desk, placing the movie tickets in front of you. "We could get Alferdo's beforehand, make a proper night of it?" He offered, and Michael seemed to have overheard.
"What are you two lovebirds talking about?" Michael asked, and you and Jim shared a look, rather desperate to not be roped into staying.
"You should order Alfredo's for tonight." You blurted out quickly, and Jim nodded in agreement.
"Alfredo's, huh? Interesting..." Michael muttered, jogging back to his office.
"Go now?" Jim asked, walking to his desk and picking up his shoulder bag.
"Now." You agreed, the pair of you grabbing coats and heading out the door before anyone could call you out on it.
By Monday, the pair of you would be filled in by Andy and Kelly on everything you missed: from Michael's speech calling out Ryan to the abduction of the pizza delivery kid, followed by Andy serenading Angela and Michael heading to New York after all with Dwight. In truth, you couldn't care less.
You spent that launch party night eating good pizza, Alfredo's Pizza Café, and catching a Indiana Jones marathon at the movies with Jim... Followed by other events you would rather keep private for now.
Truth was, Jim knew how to make you happy, and he had proved himself time and time again. It was why you knew you loved him.

✨ “If I die, I’m haunting you first.” (ao3 link)
══════════════════
When Peter imagined his first date with MJ, he expected less sleuthing and more romance-y stuff that everybody else did when they started dating. Like watching a movie, or going out for dinner, or even texting about going on dates but just watching obscure YouTube videos together instead. He should’ve never expected less of MJ to be completely MJ-like.
It was yesterday when they were hanging out in his room when she asked him out. Ned had gone to ask Aunt May if she had any snacks lying around and MJ was throwing paper balls at his face to see if he really could dodge it. After a few moments of him moving his head around, he let one of them hit his head just so he could hear MJ groan. “You’re supposed to avoid it, Peter. So much for your Peter tingle.”
“It’s called Spider-sense,” Peter countered automatically, sighing. It seemed like Aunt May’s influence reached everywhere. “And sometimes I just live to be contrary.”
“I can’t believe I’m dating you,” MJ said, deadpanned.
Peter just grinned up at her. “I mean we technically haven’t gone on a real date yet.”
“Fine, then we’ll go on a date tomorrow,” she said, scrunching up another piece of paper that might have been an old sketch. “Wear your Spidey suit.”
“My Spidey—what? Wait, what are we doing?”
“You’ll find out. Meet you here at 8 tomorrow.”
“Okay,” Peter agreed, shrugging.
And, boy, did he find out. MJ showed up in an all black outfit, a turtleneck and some soft-looking leggings, and her frizzy curls were slicked back into a low ponytail. Her only accessory was a camera resting on her chest the next day. There was a little shine to her lips that Peter knew was her lip gloss and he couldn’t help but lean in and kiss her, not minding the sickly sweet taste it left in his mouth. “Hey,” he breathed, then leaned back.
She gave him a bright grin that made him sweat a little in his suit. She replied in the same tone, “Hey.”
Peter interlocked her hand with hers easily and led them to the fire escape. He tugged on his mask as he looked out of this window, checking to see if anyone or anything was watching. When he was sure everything was clear, he stepped outside and held out a hand to help her climb out.
“Ugh,” she said, scowling and cracking her back. “These are not tall people friendly windows.”
“I got in there easily,” he pointed out.
MJ smirked. “Yeah, but we can’t all be bite-sized.”
“I’m two inches shorter than you.” He placed his hands on his hips. “Anyway, where are we going.”
“You know that new Oscorp building that popped up in Queens?” MJ asked. He nodded. Given his job of swinging around, it was hard not to notice it but it wasn’t the most romantic building he’d seen. Then again, when was MJ up for cliché filmesque dates? “We’re gonna break in and maybe take a couple of pictures.”
“Break… in,” he said, trying to process. “Why?”
MJ sighed. “I did some research—” which was code for: I asked Ned to help hack into their files “—and they were doing some shady shit to endangered species. Like, borderline call your representative to the UN type shit. If we can get some evidence to expose them, we can stop it before it gets worse.”
Peter stared at her. Of course, this would be their first date. He sighed, but behind the mask he was smiling. “Ok, hop on.”
MJ quickly jumped into his arms, wrapping her legs around his waist with a tight grip and her arms interlocking tightly behind his neck. She placed her head in the crook of his neck while Peter wrapped one arm easily around her hips.
“Good to go?” he asked, shifting her weight without any difficulty. She nodded. And with that they were off.
That was a few hours ago. They got into Oscorp without sounding off any alarms (thanks for the passwords, Ned). They got a few pictures and, God, Peter was so tempted to break them out right then and there, but they left silently. Or, well, they tried. Apparently the night guard was suspicious of the black shadows and came around to check things out. Peter and MJ were so close, just a flight away from the rooftop they came from. But once he heard the guard’s footsteps and Peter panicked.
“MJ, we’re going to run,” Peter whispered, agitated.
“What?”
“Hey, you!” the guard yelled and MJ’s eyes widened before Peter pulled her up the stairs, almost carrying her at some points.
“Fuck,” Peter said, “hold on to me.”
“Shit,” she said, climbing onto him. “If I die, I’m haunting you first.”
MJ held onto Peter’s shoulders so tightly he thought his suit might rip. And that was honestly saying something given that this is grade A Stark tech on his body, so MJ’s grip was borderline Hulk-like. Within seconds, he swung up and out the rooftop. He hoped the guard didn’t see who it was who broke in. He didn’t need to hear JJ’s scathing comments on him being a menace to society again.
Once they were ways away from Oscorp, Peter said, “Dramatic much?”
MJ laughed into his shoulder. “Take us home, Peter.”
Peter smiled. “Ok.”

BTS reaction: Needing to hear their voice in order to fall asleep
Seokjin:
Sighing loudly, you stretched your arm out to reach for your phone which was placed on the bedside table next to you. As you turned it on, a piercing light emitted from the phone causing you to squint so you could barely see it. Tapping your fingers rapidly over the screen you dialed Jin’s number. After a few rings he picked up.
“Seokjinnnnn.” You whined.
“What’s wrong Y/N?”
“I can’t sleep.” A groan escaped from your lips. “I need to hear your voice. Talk to me. Say anything.” Suddenly, a loud crash blasted through the phone and into your ear causing you to jolt upright. “What happened? Are you ok?” Your voice laced In concern.
After a few more bangs Jin returned to the phone and said “sorry, Y/N. I’m just cooking and some stuff fell.” He chuckled at himself. “Hey, I got an idea!”
“What is it?” You asked quizzically.
“Since I’m cooking and you want me to talk to you, why don’t I tell you the recipe I’m using?”
“But that’s so boring.”
“Exactly! It’ll put you right to sleep!”
“Alright, alright.” You said complying to Jin’s idea.
“Ok so we need 2 cups of flour, 3/4 cup of sugar, 3 eggs-“
Tumblr media
Namjoon:
Uncomfortable in your current position, you flipped yourself around with a groan causing Namjoon to stir awake. His grip around your waist tightened before he spoke, almost as if he was afraid that you’d leave his embrace.
“Can’t sleep again baby?” He murmured in his half unconscious state.
“Yeah...” you said as a frown set on your face.
“Something on your mind?”
“No. I just want to hear you sing. It relaxes me .” After a few seconds with no reply you added on “pretty pleaseee~~ I’ll cook for you tomorrow?” You hoped this was enough to convince him.
“You know I don’t like singing... can I rap instead?”
“Nope.” You said refusing to budge.
“Okay, okay. Fine. But don’t say I didn’t warn you.”
Suddenly, Namjoon started singing, if you could even call it singing, I need u.
“I NEED U GIRL!” (Imagine him from the video they did I few years ago 😂)
Despite it being slightly painful to listen to, it seemed to work as you fell asleep only a minute or two later. Quietly chuckling to himself, Namjoon nuzzled himself into the crook of your neck before he shut his eyes tight and dozed off.
Tumblr media
Yoongi:
Staying at Yoongi’s studio was something that you did often. It warmed your heart to see him work so passionately and diligently in his studio for hours on end, trying to come up with his next song. It definitely was one thing that attracted you most to him. But besides being there to keep him company while he worked, it was also to look after him. He’d always had this nasty habit of working and forgetting the time, or even what planet he was living on for that matter, as he got so lost in his work. So now, every night you would make him a late dinner and then make yourself over to the very room you were currently seated in.
Scrolling on your phone had occupied you for most of the night, occasionally listening to a few snippets yoongi had been working on and giving your advice when needed. Glancing to the top of your screen, your droopy eyes blinked as you read the time. 3:43 am. A loud sigh escaped you lips as you locked your phone and let it fall beside you.
Somehow, hear your sigh suddenly woke yoongi from his work trance as his eyes darted to the clock on the bottom right-hand corner of his screen.
“Shit.” He muttered under his breath. “I’m sorry Y/N, I didn’t realise how late it had gotten. Do you want a ride home?”
“Honestly, I’m too tired to move. Can I crash here for the night?”
“Of course. Here.” He said as he reached to his side to grab the blanket and pillow he always kept prepared lately. “I’ll play you what I’ve been working on so you can fall asleep alright? It’s not much, sorry, but it’s all I’ve got at the moment. I can sing for you, or rap if you prefer that instead?”
“Yoongi it’s fine.” A small smile appeared on your face. “Goodnight.”
“Goodnight. I hope you like it.”
Tumblr media
Hoseok:
“Wishing on a sky~” Hobi’s sweet voice filled your ears as you hugged closer to his side trying to get as comfortable as possible.
“wIsHiNg ON a sCArrrrr.”
Never mind. You slapped him on the arm as he began to laugh his head off.
It always seemed to go like this. He would start out singing all sweet and nice and then suddenly turn into one of those crackhead edits you see in YouTube. Every time, he managed to find a way to make it even crazier and funnier
“Come on. You gotta admit, that one was funny.”
“It was not.” You rebutted, refusing to give him satisfaction.
“Yes it was. Stop lying, you know I can tell when you are.”
“I’m not lying? Lying? What! No way! Pffftt. Who says I’m lying?” You weren’t sure who you were trying to convince, him or yourself.
“Y/N it’s so obvious. You’re a horrible liar.”
“Well, I would have to lie if you would just sing properly. Then I’d be asleep by now.” You wriggled your arms free from around him and rolled over, a sign that your were mad at him. Of course you weren’t actually mad but you didn’t want him to feel a tad bit of guilt.
“Alright let’s make a deal.” He began. “I’ll sing properly if you admit that it was funny.”
No response.
“Fine. Suit yourself.” Just before he was about to roll over you quickly flung around and placed your hand on his shoulder which was enough to stop him.
“Okay,okay.... it was funny....” you said it in the quietest voice possible so that it felt like you weren’t actually saying it. Hoseok knew that you were desperate from his voice and used that to his advantage.
A triumphant smile planted itself on his face as he began to sing again.
“Wishing on a sky~”
For a second both of you locked eyes, while hoseok hesitated to sing the next line almost as if he was contemplating singing it funny again. A death clear from you was warning enough not to do that.
“Wishing on a scar~”
Tumblr media
Jimin:
Curled up on the couch with Jimin while watching a movie and snacking on a vast array of unhealthy junk food was your all time favourite activity.
However, not taking notice of the time for the last few hours, it had become very late and your attention had slowly drifted from the movie as your eyelids began to flutter shut, a sign that all your body wanted to do was to plummet into a deep sleep.
Of course, that wasn’t going to happen anytime soon as lately you had been finding it difficult to fall asleep without hearing Jimin’s voice. Something about it just relaxed you so much and put you right out.
Your recent favourite for him to sing lately had been promise (sorry but I think we can all agree promise is a bop 💁🏼‍♀️) since it suited his soft and sweet voice so well.
Jimin had notice over the last hour that you had progressively gotten more and more restless which was a signal to him to start your daily bed time routine. He wrapped one arm under your legs and one around your back as he slowly lifted you up and tiptoed from the couch to your bedroom, being careful not to bump you into anything.
He started quietly singing like usual.
“I want you to be your light, baby. You should be your light.” He hit all the notes so perfectly and his voice was so melodic that it almost put you in a trance. You were already snoring by the time the short trip to your bed was over.
Tumblr media
Teahyung:
His husky, deep voice sent shivers down the length of your spine. He was speaking barely above a whisper.
“The mouse turned around and saw the bird lying lifelessly on the ground.” You let out an exaggerated gasp.
“Why are you acting so surprised,” tae said letting out a cute chuckle “we’ve read this book 5 times before.”
“I know we have, but it still gets me every time.”
“You’re so cute, my little gum drop.” He said as his and reached up and pinched your cheeks lightly. He really made you feel like you were a child, but you kind of liked it in a away. You two had always had that lovey-dovey teenage relationship.
“The mouse rushed over to the bird as tears began to pour out of his eyes. He shook to bird to try and wake him, but it was no use.”
“Oh no.” You pretended sounded as if you were on the verge of tears yourself.
“But, just as he was about to give up, the bird started moving slightly, groaning as it lifted itself off the ground. The two reunited with a hug and-“
“Lived happily ever after.”
“Aww that was cute. But it’s time to go to sleep now.” He shut the book before placing in on the table beside him before shutting off the light and rolling back over to you.
“Thanks baby.” You said as your lips gently pressed against his cheek.
“Any time.” A warm smile spread on his face as he snuggled up to you and began to fall asleep.
Tumblr media
Jungkook:
You weren’t gonna lie, you missed jungkook. You missed every single bit of him, from his smile, to his eyes, to his cute little giggles, but most of all, you missed his voice. It was the one thing that kept you sane every night and prevented you from ripping your own hair out from frustration of not being able to fall asleep.
So of course, when jungkook told you he had to leave for 5 months to do yet another world tour you were devestated to say the least.
“Don’t worry, baby! You know I promise to call you every night before bed so that you can fall asleep! You’ll hear me so much, it’ll feel like I haven’t even left.” A sympathetic smile spread across his face as he gazed into your eyes with the most adorable and endearing look ever.
“But Kook, what if you get busy? Or what if you forget? I don’t want to burden you. What if you get mad at me for needing you every night? What if-“
“Y/N, listen to me. I promise, I will call. Every. Single. Night. Okay?” He interrupted in the middle of your worry session.
——
“Kook this is seriously not funny!”
“Hello? Y/N? Can you hear me? Are you there? Can you hear me?”
“Jeon Jungkook I swear to god if you don’t stop this now I will break up with you!” Your voice had increasingly gotten louder without you even realising it due to the foolishness of your boyfriend. It had been a few months since he’d left and he out of nowhere got this brilliant idea to mess with you every night. It had started as a joke with him saying “can you hear me?” Over and over and over again, which of course had you laughing until you stomach hurt. But lately, it had just gotten tiring. “Jungkook, I’m tired. Just stop.”
“Can you hear me?” That was it. That was the final straw.
“Fine. Be like that. I’m hanging up.” You yanked the phone away from your ear and right before you were about to press the end call button, you hear jungkook say
“Baby, noooo. Don’t go. I’m sorry. I’ll sing for you. Right now! Take my hands now~ you are the cause of my euphoria~”
(Ik euphoria is supposed to be about death and what not but just pretend it’s cute and romantic k thanks)

Taron Egerton: Rawr!

===
It was another busy morning in the Egerton household. Sarah was running around trying to get herself ready for work as she was trying to wrangle her eight year old daughter Nova. “Nova Rae!” Sarah shouted as the girl kicked her soccer ball into the glass door. “Sorry.” Nova said with the same sheepish grin she inherited from her father. “Go and put the ball away and get your breakfast please.” Sarah said as she walked to the kitchen where her youngest daughter Ellie stood. “Ellie sweetheart, have you eaten yet?” The mother asked. The little girl shook her head. “Daddy said he would make it for me and Nova.” she replied. Just then, Taron came downstairs with Nova trailing behind.  “Good morning baby.” Taron greeted his wife. “Morning.” She greeted happily. “Have you eaten yet?” Asked as he lifted Ellie on to his hip. Sarah looked at her watch, trying to decide if she had time. “No I haven’t but French toast sounds good to me.” She replied with a smile. Taron nodded and walked into the kitchen. “You go sit down with mummy and Nova and I will bring the breakfast to you.” Taron said as he handed Ellie over to Sarah.
once the food was ready, Taron and Nova brought the food over and they sat n ate in a comfortable silence. Just as Ellie finished her food, she spilled a little bit of her milk on the table. “oops.” She said as she looked at her mother with eyes that matched Taron’s. “What am I going to do with you two?” Sarah teased as she stood up to grab a cloth from the kitchen while Taron collected the plates. The girls went off to play as their parents took care of the breakfast aftermath. “How much time have you got?” Taron asked as he wrapped his arms around her waist from behind. She looked at her watch once more and saw that she’d have to leave now if she wanted to arrive at the hospital on time. Sarah had been working as a midwife before she met Taron and she loved it. She loved being around all the little babies. “I have to go now if I want to be on time.” Sarah said as she turned in his arms to kiss him. He smiled into the kiss and started laughing when he heard his daughters making gagging noises. The parents pulled apart and looked at the girls and slowly walked toward them. The girls ran screaming and giggling. "Ok, on a serious note girls, mummy has to go now so come here and say goodbye." Taron said as he and Sarah walked to the front door. "Bye mummy." Ellie said as she wrapped her small arms around her mother's waist the best she could. "I love you Tiny Dancer." Sarah said as she picked up the little girl to give her a kiss. "Love you too mummy." She replied with a smile mirroring her mother's. Sarah placed her down and said goodbye to Nova. "I love you Sassy." Sarah said as she kissed the top of Nova's head. "Please be good for your father today." She warned as she stood back up to leave. "We will." Nova replied. Sarah looked at Nova's cheeky face and smiled. She knew the girls would be in safe hands with Taron. She said one final goodbye and walked out the door.
"Alright my darlings, what shall we do?" Taron asked as he stood their looking at his daughters. "Play outside." Ellie shouted. She loved the little playset that her parents had bought for them as their big Christmas present the previous year. Nova smiled widely as she knew that she would be able kick her soccer ball around with her father. "Outside it is then." Taron replied. "But first, you need to go and get changed Ellie Grace." Taron continued as he watched the little one bound up the stairs as fast as her little legs would carry her. "Go on Miss. Sassy pants, Go get the soccer ball." Taron said enthusiastically with a huge grin. The girls returned to him all ready to go and they set out for the backyard where they played for a while before Taron went inside to get lunch ready. As he was putting the final thing back in the fridge, he heard the girls fighting. He rolled his eyes. "Sugar plum fairies. They're at it again." He said to himself exasperatedly and made his way to the bickering dinosaurs. "Girls, stop it please. No more fighting, I leave for a minute and come back to you two killing each other. You both need to stop fighting every time you two are left alone." He warned as he stood between the girls. "But dad, it's not fair. You always stick up for her. She's your favourite." Ellie whined in response. Taron just gave her a stern look and she knew to stop.

"Now will you please come inside for lunch." Taron said as he took hold of his daughters' hands. Taron, Nova and Ellie sat and their sandwiches that he had made for them. "Thank you daddy." Ellie said through a mouthful of food. Taron chuckled. "You're welcome my tiny dancer." He replied. "Dad, can we have ice-cream after?" Nova asked.  "Sure but just wait for tiny to finish." He replied as he finished his own food. Hearing that, Ellie scoffed down her food and gave her plate to her father to show him that she was finished. Both Taron and Nova looked at the girl with shock etched on their features. "Ok daddy." Ellie said as she swallowed the last of her food. "Why do you eat so fast?" Nova asked her sister. "Because, I want ice-cream." She shrugged. Nova rolled her eyes and Taron let out a hearty laugh. "Come on then my girlies." Taron said as he stood up and walked to the kitchen with his little chickens trailing behind him. Taron cleaned them up and helped them dish up their ice-cream. "Sassy, can you please put this back in the fridge?" Taron asked as he handed Nova the chocolate sauce. "Yup." The girl said. "What can I do daddy?" Ellie questioned. "You can help me pick a movie for us all to watch." He replied as he looked at her. She beamed with joy as they walked to the living room with Nova following a few minutes later. They had decided to watch Hotel Transylvania.
Nova sat next to her father and cuddled into his side while he draped his right arm around her and Ellie sat on his lap while he draped his left arm around her small frame to make sure that she wouldn't fall off. The girls were silent through the whole thing as they ate their ice-cream. Unsurprisingly, Taron had ice-cream on his pants thanks to Ellie who wasn't paying attention to the substance that threatened to drip. Taron didn't care though, he secretly loved it. When the movie was done, They all went for a walk and then came home for dinner where he gave them mac n cheese. The girls were thrilled when he brought their bowls over. The girls ate and talked with their father. Once they had finished. Taron got them cleaned up and ready for bed and when that was done, he tucked them in and turned out their lights.
By the time that he manage to clean himself up and get dinner made for him and his wife, Sarah was walking through the door with a smile. "Hello my darling." Taron greeted. "Hi. How did it go today?" Sarah asked as she kicked off her shoes and hung up her coat. Taron leaned against the wall as he watched her. "It was good expect for a little fight I had to break up but other than that, they were as good as gold." He explained as Sarah walked up to him and kissed him softly. "What else is new." She chuckled as they broke apart. "I'm going up to shower and then I'll come and eat with you." Sarah continued as her husband shook his head. "We aren't eating down here." He said with a smirk. Sarah knew that he meant for them to eat in their room. "T, they will smell whatever it is you have up your sleeve. They are blood hounds." She chided. He stuck his tongue out at her in a childish manner and she laughed at his antics. "Sometimes I think I have three children to raise." She teased as she walked upstairs to their shared room.
While Sarah was freshening up, Taron went about the kitchen to make their dinner and get what he needed for the night that he had planned for the both of them. When everything was collected, he made his way upstairs and set it all up. He only had to wait about five minutes for his wife. "What's all this?" Sarah asked with amusement as she emerged from the bathroom clad in her sleeping shorts and one of T's shirts. "You know how fuckable you look right now?" He questioned as he stood up and walked to her. "Are you wearing a shirt under that sweater or just the sweater and the apron? which by the way, makes you look fuckable." She remarked with the same words he had just used on her. Taron looked down and back at her. "And why do you have all that stuff in the pockets?" She continued as he kept his eye on her as he struck a pose and pulled a face at her.

(Just picture this in a bedroom setting and with Ben and Jerry's cookie dough ice-cream in the pocket of the mayo and then for the pocket that has the other thing in it, just picture two spoons being in there instead.)
"Dork." Sarah said as Taron chuckled and kissed her passionately. "I'm your dork now and forever." He replied with a grin as they pulled away. Sarah rolled her eyes but giggled at him. "Let's see what you have in your bag of tricks shall we." Sarah whispered seductively, sending shivers down Taron's spine. Sarah ran her fingers down his chest tantalizingly. Taron sucked in a breath as he bit his lower lip to stop himself from moaning. Sarah's hand went straight down to the cork screw in the very front pocket. Then she moved it across to the ketchup. She looked up to Taron's face and saw that he had his eyes closed. She smirked to herself as she knew very well what she was doing. Her eyes landed on the ice-cream and the spoons that he had placed in two of the pockets. She raised her brow at him and cleared her throat. Taron opened his eyes and looked at the woman in front of him. "What?" He asked hoarsely. Sarah held up the spoons and the frozen treat. Taron gave her a sheepish grin and took the items from her hands. "That's for later darling." He said as he placed his lips on hers in a needy kiss. "Why can't we have it now?" Sarah whined. Taron took her hand and led her to their walk in closet. "What are you trying to tell me?" She teased as they stopped in front of the picnic he had set up while she was in the shower.
Taron removed the apron and sat down with his legs open for Sarah to sit between. She looked down at him and smiled lovingly at him. Sarah sat between his legs and leaned against his strong chest as he himself leaned against the wall. For a moment or two, Taron just held Sarah in his arms and Sarah allowed her eyes to flutter closed as she relished in the feeling of being in his arms. "I love you so much T." Sarah said as she breathed out. Taron kissed the side of her head. "I love you too Sarah." He whispered in reply. "What did you make for dinner?" Sarah asked as she opened her eyes again. Taron uncovered the plate of food to reveal dinosaur chicken nuggets and fries. "Ah, that would explain the ketchup." Sarah said in realization. Taron chuckled and picked up a chicken nugget and moved it toward Sarah's mouth. "Rawr." He teased. She bit into it and sighed as she felt her hunger subside. "Thank you for doing all of this and for taking care of the girls." Sarah said with contentment. "You're welcome Fy Cariad." Taron responded. He continued to feed them both until the chicken nuggets were gone. Sarah sat in Taron's embrace until she had had enough and was chomping at the bit to find out if Taron was in fact wearing a shirt under his sweatshirt or not. She looked at him and he nodded at her and she took the zipper between her teeth as she pulled it down slowly, teasing Taron as she went.  he whimpered at the sight of her with the zipper between her teeth. The sweatshirt fell open to reveal that Taron in fact was not wearing a shirt. Sarah looked up at him and bit her lip. "You know what that does to me." Sarah moaned. Taron looked at her with a cheeky glint in his eye. "Why do you think I did that then?" He smirked. She leaned forward and kissed him hungrily.
Taron tangled his fingers into her hair and let his other hand roam down her body. Sarah moaned as his hand made contact with her breast. She pulled away enough to remove her shirt so that she could feel more of Taron's skin against hers. He looked down at her and licked his lips. "Go wait for me on the bed." Taron instructed lustfully. Sarah nodded and walked to their bed removed her shorts, leaving her clothed in only her black lacy underwear and laid down. Taron walked in a few minutes later while holding the plate still containing the fries. "What are you going to do with those?" Sarah asked as T sat on the bed next her and placed the plate on her night table. He grabbed a fry and softly dragged it along her abdomen and up to her mouth. he placed the food between her lips and watched her as she ate it. Her eyes fluttered shut as he took another fry and repeated the same thing. He kept doing that until he decided to take advantage of her eyes being shut. He bent over the top half of her body and got close to her so that she would be able to sense that he was right there. Sarah parted her lips but Taron didn't budge. He just hovered above her lips, smiling down at her. Before he could comprehend what was happening, Sarah ghosted the tip of her tongue along his top lip. His eyes fluttered shut at the feeling and let a moan escape his throat. She saw that as her chance to capture his lips with hers. He kissed her back with just as much hunger as she had shown before. Taron worked his way down from her mouth and to her neck where he assaulted it with bites, kisses, sucks and licks. Sarah arched her back as her fingers pulled his head closer to her neck. He let his fingers play with her breast. Taron took her nipple in between his thumb and forefinger, squeezing gently. Sarah moaned and arched her back into him. "Stop teasing me please." Sarah begged. "Tell me what you want." He whispered. "I want you to fuck me T." She replied. He moved his way to down to her dripping core. Taron realized that she was wearing the black lace underwear she loved so much. Taron growled and in a flash, had the panties on the ground and his head between her legs, lapping up her arousal. "Fuck." Sarah cried out in pleasure as she felt him shove his middle and ring finger inside her. She moaned as he thrusted in and out at a fast pace. Soon enough, Sarah found herself reaching her climax. Taron removed his fingers and moved up to kiss his wife.
After their fun, Taron and Sarah took everything back downstairs and cleaned up a little before going back upstairs to go to sleep. Unfortunately for Sarah, she couldn't sleep, not even as she was wrapped up in her husband's arms. She got up as carefully as she could without waking Taron and made her way to the kitchen. When she got there, she grabbed a spoon and the ice-cream from earlier and placed herself on the breakfast bar. She sat there and thought about various types of things that were on her mind while swinging her legs absentmindedly. Meanwhile, Taron had turned over to find that Sarah's side of the bed was now empty. He looked around for her but couldn't find her. He figured that she must be checking on the girls, so with no shirt on, he got up and went to see if she was in fact with the girls.  When he went to Nova's room, he didn't see her so he decided to just go downstairs. He opened the fridge and grabbed something the fridge but dropped it with a light thud. "Shit." He muttered as he went to pick it up.  "Nice one." Sarah giggled. "There you are. I was looking for you." Taron said as he made his way over to her. "You alright?" He asked. "I couldn't sleep." Sarah replied as she pushed the ice-cream between her lips. "You want to talk about it?" He asked as he reached her. She smiled and ate more ice-cream. "I've already talked to this pint of ice-cream about it." She replied. Taron chuckled and kissed her forehead softly. "I'll make you some tea." He said as he went to step away. "Nope." Sarah responded as she wrapped her legs around his waist to stop him. "Oop." She smirked. She looked up at Taron and licked her lips while letting a chuckle escape her throat. Taron huffed and licked his own lips as she lifted the spoon to his mouth, as if offering him some but as he opened his mouth and moved to take it, Sarah moved her spoon away and pushed it against his skin. He looked down at it with slight shock. "Oooo, uh-oh. I'm so sorry, oof." She giggled as Taron smiled at her. "Not funny." He replied as he shook his head.
Sarah grinned at him and her eyes landed on the ice-cream, now dripping down his chest. "Oh god it's dripping. I'll get it." She said as she placed the spoon back in the tub and leaned into him to lick it off. She wrapped her arm around his neck lazily. He pulled away and looked at the tub in her hand. He went to grab it but Sarah moved it away from his grasp. "Uh ah, this is mine." She said as she moved her hair from her eyes. Taron looked at her and motioned for her to give it to him but she just pushed his hand away and slid off of the breakfast bar. She flipped him so that he was leaning against the cool surface. "Ok." Taron replied as he looked into her eyes. He could see that lust in her eyes. She offered the spoon to him once again and when he made a move for the spoon, she pushed the tip of the spoon her mouth and giggled. She dragged the spoon from her mouth and with the remanence of the treat, dragged it along his skin. He looked down to watch her with the spoon and moaned when she moved the spoon to his stomach and lower abdomen. She dragged the spoon back up before placing it back in tub and placing it beside her husband. Sarah leaned into him once more and licked the ice-cream off of him with short teasing licks. Taron moaned at the feel of her warm tongue against his chest. She worked her way down to the waistband of his pants and Taron threw his head back in pure bliss.
Once his lower abdomen was free of the melting mess, She pulled him free from his pants and wrapped her lips around his growing erection. Taron sucked in a breath as he bit his lip. She licked the underside of his shaft up to the tip, where she ran her tongue over the slit. "Fuck." Taron hissed. "Shhhh. You'll wake the girls." Sarah warned. "I don't care." He replied as he moaned. "Fu-fuck babe, y-you keep doing that and I'll c-cum." He stuttered. Sarah picked up her pace and Taron grabbed hold of her hair to encourage her to keep going. Soon enough, he was spilling himself down her throat. He grunted as he came and she swallowed every last drop. "My god that was incredible Sarah.' He praised as he helped her to her feet. She kissed him and Taron flipped her around and picked her up and placed her on the breakfast bar again and removed her underwear and proceeded to assault her dripping pussy once more. Sarah pushed head closer and he giggled against her. "Fuck I'm so close." She moaned out. "Shhhh. You'll wake the girls." Taron teased and stood up. "Why did you stop?" Sarah asked with disappointment. Taron didn't answer, he just shoved himself into her and she couldn't help but let out a loud moan at the sudden intrusion. Taron's hand flew up to her mouth and he looked at her with warning which turned her on even more. She moaned against his hand as he started to move and set a comfortable pace.
"Taron, fuck." Sarah moaned as he sped up even more, chasing his own high. "I'm close. Please don't stop T." Sarah begged. Taron growled as he felt Sarah clenching around him and it was enough to push him over the edge and spill into her. She reached her climax shortly after and Taron flopped on top of her the best that he could, given their current position. "Now that, that was amazing Taron." Sarah said as she felt her husband nod his head against her stomach. "Want to take a shower?" Taron muttered. "Sounds good." Sarah agreed. The couple unraveled themselves from each other made their way to their bathroom. Taron turned on the water as he removed his pants and Sarah's clothes. They stepped in and Taron kissed Sarah like his life depended on it. "Thank you for tonight baby. It was even better then I could have ever hoped for." Sarah said as Taron washed her hair. "You're welcome my angel." He replied with a smile. He tilted her head back carefully and rinsed out her hair. "I'm so glad that I married you baby." Sarah said as she turned to face him. "I'm glad I married you too my darling." Taron said lovingly as he leaned his forehead against her forehead. He closed his eyes and enjoyed the closeness of his wife. "RAWR." She said with a giggle matching her husband's.
They finished their shower and went to bed with smiles on the faces as they cuddled up to each other for the night.

Best. Job. Ever 4/12
So oops, I updated this like a week ago on AO3 but forgot to update here, so you’re getting 2 chapters again, lovelies!
Btw, this IS completely written, I’m just editing and posting as time allows.
Summary: Reader gets a job on the set of Spider-Man: Far from Home for the 3 weeks they are shooting in New York City as what she thinks is a production assistant, but a twist of fate has her reassigned as Tom Holland’s personal assistant. As she & Tom grow close during filming, will their budding friendship turn to more or will they go their separate ways after filming concludes?
Warnings: Language, but that’s pretty much it? This is basically a PG-13 rom-com.
Word Count: 2571 for chapter 4.
Author’s Note: As this was written WAY before Spider-Man: Far from Home was released (actually before Avengers: Endgame was as well) I’ve kept plot details and which scene was being shot on what day extremely vague. Also, I’m American but tried to write Tom as British as possible, although I do think he’d try to stay(ish) in character and use as much American slang as he could while he’s still playing Peter.
Chapter-Specific Author’s Note: Ik Rent went off Broadway in like 2008 or something but I do what I want, lol.
Requests are always open!
Cross-posted at AO3.
The rest of the week continued much like the first day: Y/N would show up at Tom’s hotel room at 7:15 with coffee (fortunately-- or unfortunately, Y/N honestly wasn’t sure which-- the rest of the week Tom had always been dressed by the time Y/N knocked on his door), they would ride to set, Tom would film a few scenes, they would eat lunch, Tom would get back to filming, and then they would head back to their hotel, eating dinner together in one of their rooms (usually something Y/N would run out and pick up or have delivered to her room) and hanging out for a while before parting for the night.
Saturday night had Y/N and Tom hanging out in Y/N’s hotel room eating Chinese takeout while watching Infinity War on the hotel TV’s cable.
“DAMN IT, QUILL!” Y/N yelled at the TV as he started beating Thanos in the head with his gun, causing Mantis to lose her balance and let go of her control of Thanos’ mind. “Ugh, every freaking time.”
Tom laughed. “Yeah, that’s basically everyone’s reaction.”
Y/N blushed. “Sorry about that. I just always want to punch Quill in the face right there. They had Thanos, and he comes traipsing along and ruins their chances of getting the Gauntlet off. I mean, I get that he was upset about Gamora, and rightly so, but dang, he just single handedly caused the destruction of half the universe!”
Y/N’s and Tom’s phones chimed simultaneously.
“Looks like the shooting schedule for next week is here,” Y/N said, pulling it up on her phone. “Your call times are different for each day, and it also looks like Friday will be a long one, but hey, you at least have Saturday and Sunday off before the final week of shooting.”
They worked out times to meet up to head to the set the next week and when Y/N turned her attention back to the TV Thanos had snapped his fingers and people were already starting to turn to ash. Y/N brought her hand to her chest as Peter clung to Tony. I don’t want to go. “I can’t believe you improvised that scene, but I should’ve figured that you’d quote The Doctor.”
Tom glanced over at her. “You watch Doctor Who?”
Y/N nodded. “Just New Who, starting with Eccleston, but yeah.”
“Who’s your favorite Doctor?”
“Ten, hands down,” Y/N said with zero hesitation.
“No wonder you recognized that line.”
YN nodded. “It just kills me every time, whether it’s you or David Tennant that says it.”
They talked about Doctor Who until it started to get late. “So, what are you planning to do with your day of freedom?” Tom asked as they cleaned up from dinner.
“Oh, I’m just planning on taking it easy tomorrow,” Y/N replied. “What about you?”
“I need to study my lines for next week.”
Y/N bit her lip. “Maybe I could help you run your lines? I mean, if you want, no big deal.”
Tom grinned. “I’d like that a lot, actually.”
“Great. I’ll text you when I get up?”
“Sounds good.”
“Ok, well, I’m gonna head out. It’s getting pretty late.”
Tom walked Y/N over to the door. “‘Night, Y/N.”
“‘Night, Tom.”
The next morning Y/N texted Tom as soon as she woke up and got dressed.
Hey, I’m up and can help you go over your lines whenever you’re ready.
Tom texted back almost immediately. Give me like 5 minutes, yeah?
Ok, sure. I’ll run downstairs to pick you up something from the coffee shop then.
The three bubbles that indicated that Tom was typing popped up. Actually I’m downstairs right now getting something, so no need!
Oh! Lol Ok then.
A few minutes later Tom texted back. Ok, I’m back upstairs. Come on over.
Y/N grabbed her stuff and walked down to Tom’s room.
Tom answered the door with a grin. “Morning, Y/N,” he said, ushering her in. Y/N paused mid-way into the room when she saw coffee and pastries set out for both of them.
“I figured since you’ve been fetching breakfast for me all week and since I was getting myself something anyway the least I could do is return the favor,” Tom said.
“Aww, that’s so sweet,” Y/N replied. “Thank you.”
They sat and ate then Y/N helped Tom run his lines until he was comfortable with them.  “Wow, it’s four already. I’m sure you want to relax the rest of the afternoon,” Y/N said, getting up from the couch where they had been sitting, “so I guess I’m gonna get out of your hair so you can chill.”  She turned toward the door. “Wait!” Tom exclaimed.
Y/N turned back to Tom.
Tom rubbed the back of his neck. “I, err, I have a surprise for you.”
He walked over to his dresser and pulled an envelope out of the top drawer, handing it to Y/N.
Y/N looked at him curiously as she opened it, finally pulling out the contents. Her jaw dropped. “Front row seats to Rent!?”
“You can’t come to New York and not see a Broadway play. I was hoping you’d accompany me tonight,” Tom said.
Y/N was still staring at the tickets. “How did you even know I liked Rent?”
“I, err… I overheard you singing ‘Out Tonight’ on Wednesday while you were waiting for me after the set was cleared,” Tom explained.
Y/N was still shocked. “But how did you even get these? It’s been sold out for months!”
Tom winked. “You’re not the only Rent-head around here, you know.”
“And are you sure you want me to come with you? You wouldn’t rather Z or someone else from the cast go with you?”
Tom shook his head. “I figured you’d appreciate the show as much as I do. So is that a yes?”
“Oh my gosh, YES!”  Y/N threw her arms around Tom in a massive hug. “This is so amazing! I’ve been wanting to see that play for years but never thought I’d have the chance to see it live!”
“Brilliant.” Tom beamed. “I’ll be ‘round in, say, a hour so we can have dinner beforehand? I know a great sushi restaurant in Times Square.”
“Sounds great.” Y/N turned to Tom again and gave him another hug. “You are just the absolute best, you know that? I can’t believe this -- I have to go get ready!”
Y/N ran back to her room and flew through getting ready.  She put on the nicest outfit she had brought (thank goodness she was a packrat and thought to bring a decent dress!) and hurried to do her hair and makeup.
She was applying her eyeliner in the bathroom mirror when there was a knock on her door. “Come in!” she called.  She and Tom had each gotten an extra room key and had swapped them in case of emergency, so she didn’t have to go answer the door.
Tom stuck his head in the door. “Y/N?”
“Almost ready!”
Y/N finished her makeup and stepped out of the bathroom. Tom was standing in front of Y/N’s full-length mirror and caught her reflection. A broad grin spread over his face and he turned toward her. “Y/N, you look stunning,” he breathed.
Y/N blushed. “Thank you. You look great too.”
Tom had worn a similar outfit to the one he had worn the night they went to dinner after the first day of filming, except this time he had paired an open-collar button-down shirt with his sports coat, jeans, and sneaker combo. He extended his arm. “Shall we?”
Y/N linked her arm with his. “Lead the way, Mr. Holland.”
“Viva, la vie, Bohemme!”
Y/N and Tom laughed as they stepped off the elevator.
“Oh my gosh, that was so much fun. Never in a million years did I ever think I’d be able to see Rent live and in person.” Y/N couldn’t keep the grin off of her face.
“I’m glad you enjoyed it.”
They stopped in front of Tom’s door.  “You want to come in and watch the film version on Netflix?” he asked.
“Sure! I love the movie version. Gimmie like 5 minutes though to go change into something more comfortable?”
Tom nodded. “Ok. I’ve got snacks, so I’ll get everything set up while you change.”
“See you in a few.”
Y/N ran to her room and changed into some comfortable pants and a t-shirt, and pulled on a pair of fuzzy socks to walk down the hall in instead of putting her sneakers on.
She grabbed her keycard and headed back to Tom’s. The door had been held open by the privacy lock, so she just knocked gently and went in, disengaging the lock so the door could shut.
Tom was sitting on his bed, scrolling through Netflix. A bowl of popcorn and various movie theater-type candy was spread out next to him. His hair was wet-- he had obviously grabbed a quick shower while Y/N had been gone-- and he had changed into flannel pajamas pants and a plain white t-shirt. He looked up and grinned.
Y/N walked past him to the other side of the bed and climbed in, careful not to disturb the snacks in between them. “I see you got comfortable as well.”
Tom grinned. “Ready?”
“Let’s do it.”
As the opening credits rolled, Y/N said, “I think it's so great that most of the original Broadway cast reprised their roles for the movie.”
“Me too,” Tom agreed, grabbing a handful of popcorn.
They watched the movie mostly in silence, occasionally grabbing some popcorn or a handful of candy, until the opening notes to Light My Candle came on. Tom turned to Y/N. What you’d forget? he mouthed.
Y/N grinned. Got a light? she responded.
Tom reached for her. I know you, you’re… you’re shivering.
It’s nothing, they turned off my heat, and I’m just a little weak on my feet… Y/N pretended to swoon towards Tom and winked.
They kept going, both really getting into character. When they arrived at the line, They say I have the best ass below 14th Street, is it true? You’re staring again! Tom blushed and was flustered when he lip-synched Roger’s line, Oh no… I mean, you do… have a nice-- Y/N thought his flustered reaction seemed actually kind of genuine but quickly chalked it up to the darkness of the room and Tom’s really good acting skills and pushed it out of her mind as she kept going.
They continued their back & forth throughout the song. They call me, they call me Mimi...Y/N lip-synched, dangling a gummy worm in front of Tom before taking a bite with a grin as the song ended.
They both burst into laughter. “Oh my gosh, that was so fun,” Tom said in between fits of laughter, leaning back against the headboard.
Y/N fell over on Tom’s shoulder, she was laughing so hard. “That. Was. AWESOME.” She wiped a few stray tears of laughter away as she straightened.
Today 4 U was just starting. Y/N nodded toward the TV. “Think you’d be able to do that?”
“Definitely not in heels, at least not without loads of practice.” Tom answered. “I’m good, but I’m not that good.”
The rest of the movie was spent lip-syncing along to a majority of the soundtrack -- during “Out Tonight” Y/N grabbed the remote and used it as a makeshift microphone while she danced around the room, much to Tom’s amusement -- and watching in somber silence during “Without You”.
Y/N did a fist pump when the opening notes of “What You Own” started playing. “This is one of my favorite songs on the entire soundtrack,” she said. “It’s so powerful, and the bro-hug at the end just melts my heart.”
Tom nodded. “It’s definitely a turning point in the film.”
As the movie wound down, the popcorn and snacks dwindled as well. Tom placed the empty popcorn bowl on the nightstand next to him as the finale started.
“My one complaint is that I really wish the alternate ending would’ve been used in the film.”
“Me too!” Y/N exclaimed. “I mean I get why it wasn’t used, but I like the play’s version of the ending where it ends just like it begins. And speaking of… I’m so embarrassed I cried when Angel came running on stage during the finale.”
Tom chuckled. “I think it’s cute-- err, I mean nice. It’s nice that you’re reactive like that. Makes an actor feel like they’re giving a believable performance.”
“Speaking of acting…” Y/N checked her phone for the time. “It’s getting late. You better get some rest since your call time for tomorrow is early and you’re doing a lot of stunts.”
They stood and Tom walked Y/N to the door.
Y/N gave Tom a hug, and without thinking, also gave him a kiss on the cheek. “Oh, shit, I'm so sorry about that--” she stammered, taking a step back.
“What?” Tom looked confused.
“Just now-- I really didn’t mean to kiss you. I wasn’t thinking, and I understand if you’d be upset about it--”
Tom shook his head. “Why on earth would I be upset with you?” he tried to interrupt.
“--and it was completely unprofessional, so I’d also get it if you’d want to request a different assistant--”
“Wait, wait, Y/N!” Tom cried. He took Y/N's arms in a firm but gentle grip, steadying her. “I'm sorry to keep interrupting you, but I’m not upset at all.” He let go & studied her. “Have I given you the impression at any point this week that I've been anything less than pleased with you?”
Y/N blushed. “Well, no, not really…” she mumbled. “But I thought maybe you’d think I was hitting on you or something…”
“First off, it was just a kiss on the cheek, it’s not like you threw yourself at me.  And secondly…” Tom paused. “I know we haven’t known each other long, but I kind of already consider you a friend. You’re incredibly easy to talk to, we have loads in common, and at the risk of sounding completely pompous you don’t seem to just be friendly to me because of my celebrity status or because Sony is paying you to be. I mean come on, you’ve insisted on rotating who was paying for dinner all week. You’re a genuinely nice person and I like being around you. There’s absolutely no reason to fret, okay?”
Y/N nodded. “Ok.”
Tom stood. “Now that’s settled then, yeah?”
Y/N nodded. “Yeah.”
Tom reached out and gave her hand a gentle squeeze, then pulled her in for a hug. “Goodnight, Y/N.” He kissed her on the cheek, then gave her a wink.
Y/N laughed. “Goodnight, Tom. I’ll see you in the morning.”
She went in and got ready for bed. As she lay there in the darkness replaying the night in her head she suddenly realized that her feelings for Tom definitely weren’t going anywhere-- in fact they had blossomed into a full-scale crush. I am so screwed.

PART 3

You put your headphones on and began dreaded algebra. The music stopped momentarily. You checked your phone, there's a notification from Peter.
I can get tomorrow off if you wanna take pics
Before you answer you checked your planner. In red and underlined there is an algebra test the day after tomorrow.
I wish I could but I’ve gotta teach myself all the math before the algebra test
Getting back to your algebra you were struggling to find z in the equation. With so many steps, messing a single thing up meant the whole problem was wrong. When you got the x as a decimal you felt tears coming. Math was nothing short of your worst nightmare.
You grab your phone and lay on your bed, needing a break from numbers. You had another text from Peter, and quite a few from Jonah. You opened Jonah's first.
It was nice seeing you again.
Sorry about making you late to your interview.
Wanna hang out tomorrow?
I can pick you up from school.
I miss you :P
You blushed while rereading the texts. You thought of something witty to reply with.
Missing me already? I’ve got a math test I need to study for, but maybe after though.
Before he responded you checked Peters text.
Algebra? I can help you if you need. Not sure if you’ve heard but I’m kinda really good at math.
You laughed and remember Peter always getting top scores in math and science. He is perfect for Midtown, a school of science and technology. You on the other hand, english and history were more your style. No solving equations or numbers.
You text Peter and suggest a nearby coffee shop to study at.
Jonah still hadn’t replied. You took off your headphones and slid into bed.
Peter suggested that the two of you walk together to the cafe. You liked that idea, Queens can be a sketchy place for a teenage girl. You saw him talking with Ned and Michelle after school.
“Hey guys.” You slid into the small circle.
“Perfect timing y/n, we were just talking about the movie marathon.” Ned beamed.
You looked at Peter, “Oh ya. Um we. We are doing it at my place.”
“Okay sweet. Ready to go?” You asked.
Michelle turned to Peter, “Go where?”
“Peters helping me with algebra.” You answered.
Tightening the grip on his bag Peter nodded, “Yeah. Let’s go,” you grabbed Peters hand and began pulling him, “Bye guys.”
Together the two of you left Midtown and head into the busy streets of Queens.
You looked down at your torn up combat boots, “I don’t think Michelle likes me very much.”
“Don’t, don’t take it personal,” he paused, “Mj is a very cut off person. Once she really knows who you are, she’s super cool.”
“Ok,” you shrugged.
“She’s captain of the decathlon team this year, did, did you know that?” Peter smiled.
You shook your head, “No. I guess that makes sense though, with Liz leaving so abruptly and all. That must have really sucked. Could you imagine finding out your dad is evil.”
Peters face went pale, “No. No I can’t. He was a good guy, he just made some bad decisions.”
You could tell this was a touchy subject, so you dropped it.
Peter opened the door, walking into coffee filled aroma. You got into line, wanting something to eat. After ordering you found a place in the corner to work.
Peter sat down next to you, “Okay let’s see this algebra.”
You pull out your textbook and pile of assignments and quizzes.
“Woah.” He mused.
You grimaced, “I know it’s a lot. But we’ll go fast, so we can take photos.”
He was already working on the first problem, “Sounds good.”
Somehow Peter made the equations and numbers make sense. Unlike your teacher. He went over all your mistakes, redid your quizzes. You got almost all the questions right on the study guide, all by yourself.
“Peter you’re amazing.” You wrapped your arms around him.
“Oh! Haha.” He gingerly put his arms around you. You noticed his toned shoulders as they pressed into your slim ones
“Sorry. I’m, it’s just. It’s just that I finally understand math.” You said as you let go, a pinkish tinge spreading on your cheeks.
Peter slurped on his coffee, “I’m glad I could help,” He checked his watch, “Its nearly golden hour. If we want good pictures we should probably head out.”
You looked out the window, “Oh gosh. We should hurry,” you pulled your camera out of your bag and pulled it over your head, “Ready?”
Peter was already out the door. You gathered all your things and chased after him.
“When did you get so fast?”
He shrugged, “So what do you take photos of?”
Looking around the familiar streets you smiled. “Anything and everything I find interesting.”
Click
You turned to Peter, “Hey,” You tried to grab his camera.
He backed up, “Woah woah woah. We are supposed to try our partners style. I find you interesting.”
“Thanks?” You laughed.
“Come on. I wanna show you something.” Peter motioned the other way.
You walked side by side in the brisk air. Taking photos of the tourists with their maps and nick knacks. Peter kept saying you were getting closer, but you felt like it was a wild goose chase. When sirens came around the corner, Peter slowed down but you kept walking.
“Let’s get you home.”
Your eyes followed the cop cars, “Why? Peter I’m sure everything is fine.”
He was already pulling you by your hand around the block. You stopped in your tracks, “Peter what’s going on?”
He was distraught and jumpy. His grip was very tight and starting to hurt your hand. “Y/n please. I need to get you home.”
“What? No, let go of my hand,”
He did, looked back down the street where the cops drove by, then back to you, “I’m really sorry. I, I’ve gotta go.”
With that he ran back towards the sirens. You were left in the middle of the city with dark coming soon. You checked the street you were on, it wasn’t too far from home. However it would definitely be cold and dark before you got back. You texted your mom to let her know you were on your way home. Zipped up your jacket and began the enduring walk, fuming that Peter had just deserted you.
The sun set not five minutes later and you weren’t anywhere near home, you decided to call Jonah.
“Y/n? What’s up?” He sounded excited.
You cleared your throat, “I’m kind of far from home and it’s dark. Also, um well I’m alone. Could you if it’s not any hassle come get me and walk me home?”
There was a silence. You started to regret calling him.
“Sure. Send me your location, I’ll be there soon.” He finally answered.
“Oh my gosh really?” You jumped up.
He laughed, “Really.”
“I’ll see you soon,” You hung up and pinned him your location.
You looked around and saw a bench, conveniently it wasn’t occupied by a hobo. You slid your bag around to your chest and held it tightly. It wasn’t the cleanest of places but it was the bench or the ground. You sat down and waited.
Checking your phone every few minutes you were starting to worry. It was completely dark, and the city that never sleeps seemed pretty sleepy to you. Only a few stragglers trying to get home after one too many drinks at the bar.
The sirens finally stopped, helping calm your nerves. You looked up into the sky, barely able to see the moon. You saw something else, something exciting.
Spiderman swinging through the air. You pulled out your camera and fixed the iso. You clicked and clicked, hoping that they were gonna turn out. You unzoomed and realized how close he was getting.
“Hello, miss,” An obviously fake deep voice began, “What are you doing out here alone? You know it’s not safe.”
You stared at his masked eyes. You were face to face with the famous vigilante.
“Miss?”
“Oh sorry. It’s, it’s just. Wow, you’re the Spiderman.” You continued to stared.
The mystery man laughed, with a much younger voice.
“My friend left me. So I called my well,” you thought for a moment, “I actually don’t know what he is. But he’s coming to get me.”
Not a second later Jonah pulled up in a jeep.
“Hop- Is that spiderman,” He was already out of the car, “Can I get a picture?” He asked.
Spider Man nodded, you pulled out your camera, “Smile.”
“Thanks dude,” Jonah fist bumped the hero, “Let’s go y/n.”
You tossed your camera in your bag and climbed into the jeep, “Thanks Spiderman.”
Jonah took you home, he walked you too your door again. Leaning against the wall you brushed your hair behind your ear. Jonah was watching you as if you were the only thing until the world.
“Why are you staring?” You looked at your boots.
Jonah smiled, “I just can’t stop thinking about how much I wanna,” he paused and got closer, “How much I wanna kiss you.”
You’d never been kissed before but you wanted Jonah so you just laughed, “Then what are you waiting for?”
He gingerly lifted your chin, bent down and stared at your lips. You got on your tippy toes to help the height difference. Finally your lips connected. You imagined your first kiss being the most magical thing in the world, with sparks flying and music in the background. This was nothing compared to your dreams. It was short, and sweet. When Jonah pulled back you opened your door and slipped inside before he could say something.

Requests open!!! Yay!! :D ok, what would be the weirdest thing MC would caught the RFA + Saeran + V doing? You can do it as a reaction or headcannon :) -Fish 🐟
Tumblr media
this one took me too long, thank you for your patience Fish ^^ I’ll add V to this soon, I just couldn’t think of anything for him immediately and I didn’t feel up for writing Jaehee in this, hope that’s okay!
edit: I usually proofread immediately after posting, but didn’t last night cause I immediately passed out, but I’m so embarrassed that this one had some bad spelling errors and it got 80+ notes before I got to fix it oops
Yoosung:
playing lolol was always his go to in his downtime
but when he was playing today, he was thinking about how cool the armor in the game looked
and wondered what it could possibly be made of
‘probably steel or some heavy material,’ he thought
he then thought about how pots and pans are made out of that
which brought him to where he is now, staring at his creation in the bathroom mirror
he had managed to find duct tape and stuck the kitchenware he had to his clothing
and as he gazed at his masterpiece, flexing and posing to make it look cooler, he hadn’t heard the front door opening
you made your way through the place, wondering where Yoosung could be, noticing some missing pieces in the kitchen before you saw the light coming from the bathroom
you thought that maybe he had left that on so you went to turn it off
only to find your boyfriend with a pasta strainer on his head and a baking sheet taped to his chest
what made it better was his pose, leg up on the counter while he flexed his arms, phone out as he took selfies that you knew he wouldn’t post anywhere
the look on his face as you made eye contact from the reflection was priceless
“So this is what my hero has been up to all day,” you teased
“Actually more like the last hour,” he retorted, although that didn’t help his case
“Well I’m supposed to start on dinner soon and could really use that frying pan on your shoulder,” you said
“I’ll go put it all back,” he said, walking passed you in shame
Zen:
he found himself watching a lot of makeup tutorials on youtube
it just always impressed him to see the amount of work behind a full face look
he didn’t have much in his makeup bag, considering most of it was done on sets and not at home
but he knew you had way more
so as soon as he knew you were gone for the day, he pulled up a tutorial and your makeup bag
he tried to follow along as best he could, wondering how it could come out so great for them when he couldn’t even get his eyeliner wing sharp enough
his foundation was patchy, eyeshadow passed his eyebrows and contoured waaaay too dark
the only thing he was really proud of was how he applied his lipstick, it looked so plump and perfect with it’s deep red shade
looking in the mirror, he couldn’t help but admire his look
“Even when you mess up, you still look like a snack,” he said to his reflection, leaning in to leave a kiss mark on the mirror
but just as his lips pressed on the cool glass, he heard what sounded like a camera go off
turning to find you at the door, phone out and pointed at him
“Seven’s going to get a real kick out of this,” you said, running out the room only to be followed by him chasing you
Jumin:
“MC, I’m home,” he exclaimed, walking through the door of his shared penthouse only to get no reply
‘Odd,’ he thought, making his way through the place only to find your bra on the kitchen counter
he picked it up, smirking to himself as he thought back to the kitchen counter exploration you two had that morning
he continued examine the black lace fabric, thinking back on how good it looked on you
a thought popped into his head that he wouldn’t have expected from himself
‘What would this look like on me?’
since you were nowhere to be found, he stripped down his jacket and shirt, looping his arms through the straps only to look down and stop
something felt off about this as he stretched the fabric over himself
after a minute, you walked through the front door, security escorting you in as they helped carry your grocery bags
only to walk in on your husband, shirtless in the middle of the kitchen with your bra on
before you could say anything, he turned around, revealing the oranges he had stuffed in the cups
“Um, dear,” you started, “I was going to ask you to help me bring some more bags up, but you seem to be strapped.”
the bodyguards were holding back laughs at your comment, until Jumin shot them a glare
“Oh relax, don’t get your panties in a twist~”
Saeyoung:
he was hard to embarrass
over the years you had walked in on a lot of things
trying on your dresses, force feeding Saeran honey buddha chips, talking to himself in the third person, really the list really goes on
but one you didn’t seem to expect was right in front of you
he had been quiet for a few hours, which was unlike him, so you went looking for him
only to find him in his room, laying in bed with his legs crossed as he wrote in a pink little notebook with a small padlock and label on it that read ’☆707’s Super Secret Thoughts☆’
you plopped yourself down next to him, surprising him as he scrambled to hide his book, but it was too late
you had managed to grab it from him and run as he got up to chase you
“MC, give it baaaaack,” he whined as he tried to catch up to you
“Nooo, I want to know your secret thoughts,” you replied as you scanned over the page that was open, somehow outrunning him
he had scribbled down what seemed to be in-cohesive rambling, but upon closer examination it was poetry
“Saeyoung, I didn’t know you were such a poet,” you teased only for him to finally catch up and tackle you, pinning you to the ground as he took back what was his
“I’m not! You don’t need to see that,” he said, defensively
you pouted up at him, only for him to hand you the notebook back
as you looked through and read his words, you couldn’t help but audibly ‘aw’ so he wouldn’t feel self-conscious, encouraging him to open up to you more
at one-point, you had accidentally laughed at a spelling error and he yanked the book right back, retreating to his rooms and giving you the silent treatment
turns out, he was much more sensitive than you thought, taking you days to get him to give more than just one-word responses
Saeran:
he was really one to keep to himself
solving most of his own problems and debates on his own
but one day, he seemed to be having an intense argument with himself, talking to himself out loud in his room
it got so far, that he had actually set one side of his own argument as a defense and the other as a plaintiff and his impartial decision making as the jury
he had mapped out each side of the argument, bringing up pros and cons on both side
stating his own cases to himself and trying to be objective of his own points that he brought up
all while pacing back and forth in his room alone
or so he thought
he was so lost in thought, he didn’t hear you knocking on his door or walking in when he didn’t respond
you saw the mess of papers all over the room, looking as if he had been locked in here for years with only himself to talk to when really, it couldn’t have been more than an hour since he had gone to his room to think over your question
the question? “Hey Saeran, what movie do you want to see?”
you knew he was pretty indecisive, but this just seemed like an extreme
you coughed, gaining his attention as he stopped in his tracks, clearly annoyed at the interruption in thought until he realized what was around him
“MC, I can explain”
“It seems pretty clear,” you said, picking up a piece of paper from the “plaintiff’s side”
“So are you any closer to closing this case?” you jokingly asked
“No,” he sighed, sounding defeated, “both sides have very compelling arguments.”
“How about I choose the movies from now on, okay?”
