Warnings: Swearing, like a substantial amount, suggestive content kinda, gun shot wound, and flustered!Peter 
a/n: I really liked writing this. I couldn’t stop laughing at some of the dialogue. and the mistake peter made to cause the whole set-up of the story is so funny to me. like i can legit see him making this mistake. also, i’m gonna make a permanent tag list, so please send me an ask or message me if you want to be on it! <3

     Peter Benjamin Parker is a fucking dumbass. All the time mostly. Most of the time his dumbassery leads to a lot of annoyed avengers, a lot of clean up, and a lot of spilled secrets. Hence why like three people who definitely shouldn’t know he is Spider-man do. But every once in while his idiocy can lead to an unexpected happily ever after, at least until he fucks something up again. 
     This particular fuck up has yet to be determined as a happy accident or your new 13th reason. It all started when that spider bitch decided it’d be a good idea to watch some explicit content on his laptop. Now, this wasn’t particularly an unknown activity for him to partake in, since we all know about his little impromptu purchase in Germany, but unbeknownst to this dork, his aunt was in the next room over working on a tear in his suit. And to make matters worse, he accidentally just so happened to purchase a subscription using said aunt’s credit card that was pre-setup in his laptop. 
     Now May is a very understanding woman. Very sex-positive, very loving, and inclusive; the whole shebang really. So when she happened to catch this idiot doing what he most certainly shouldn’t have been doing, she wasn’t mad, just thoroughly disturbed. Then she got the notification about the purchase. That was a bit more taboo in her eyes. So Peter was grounded from patrolling for a week and his laptop privileges were revoked for two weeks. That was fucking merciful compared to what this whole fuck up put you through. 
     At the school that following Monday, Peter spent the whole first, second, fourth, and lunch period trying to convince you to take over patrol for a week. Sure, you could definitely handle it, not to pat yourself on the back or anything, but you were significantly stronger than Peter, so it shouldn’t have been that big of a deal. But you just really didn’t want to. Peter had his ‘Peter Tingle’ to help him find danger, while you’d actually have to look. It just seemed harder for you to do than it would be for him. 
     “Why are you even grounded?” You sighed after Peter's 3rd time bringing up the possibility of you patrolling for him at lunch. 
     “He got caught watching and buying p—” Ned started laughing.
     “Ned! Shut up!” Peter yelled, slapping his hand over his friend's mouth. 
     “How has your identity not been leaked yet, Jesus Christ.” You mumbled, giggling. You flipped through your chemistry textbook, writing notes to prepare for Friday’s quiz. 
     “Yeah, and how come you didn’t know May was home?” Ned pushed Peter’s hand away. “Where was your ‘Peter Tingle’ then?” 
     “She’s not a threat, dude. But shit, I really wish my tingle detected her.” Peter groaned, a deep blush covering his features. “Please (Y/N). I really, really don’t wanna leave Queens without any protection for a week. I’ll try to convince May to let me go out on the weekend, so really it’s only five days.” 
     “I guess I could help you out, but you owe me. I should really spend this time studying for my chemistry test. Iron bitch is gonna have my head on a spike if I fail another chem test.” You said, highlighting more notes. 
     “Okay! Delmar’s for a week, anytime, anywhere.” Peter said putting his hand out for you to shake. 
     “Make it a month, I know my worth.” 
     Peter hesitated, but eventually gave in, “Fine, but you better do a good job.”

     So now you were stuck patrolling from 8:30 to 11:00 every night. It wasn't bad per se, and nothing too eventful happened. You stopped a small convenience store robbery, gave a few kids some tips at the skatepark, ran some errands for an old lady, and saved a cat from a tree. Thursday night was the real kicker though. Your night had barely started and you accidentally got in the middle of a drug deal between some smaller mob and a real messed-up junkie. This should’ve been an easy takedown, only six people in total that needed to be taken out, but like was mentioned before, you don’t have Peter’s goddamn, stupid fucking tingle. So after taking all six of the perps out you started to walk away after alerting the police. Unfortunately, one of those assclowns had come to, and grabbed the gun a few feet away from him and shot it towards you. The bullet went through your thigh and out the other side. Screaming in shock and pain, you used your own throwing knives and knocked the gun out of the mobster’s hand, then you proceeded to knock him out again with a few good punches to his noggin, maybe a few more, just for good measure. But this wound would need to be cleaned and stitched up. And if you went back to the Tower, Steve and Tony would give you an earful about “watching your surroundings” and “being more careful”. So in a moment of pure adrenaline and desperation, you texted Peter. 
You: are you home
Spider-Dork: Yeah, why?
You: i’ll be there in 5 
Spider-Dork: What? Why? Is everything ok?
Spider-Dork: Hello??? (Y/N)????
(Y/N) declined (3) calls 
Spider-Dork: Answer my calls idiot. 
     Peter’s texting and constant calling was cut short from a crash in his room. 
     “(Y/N)? Is that you?” Peter called from the couch in the living room. 
     “Yeah, can I borrow a t-shirt?” You called, fumbling around accidentally knocking over another lamp. “Oops, sorry!”
     “Uh, yeah sure. In the closet!” Peter called back pausing his show, prepared to make his way over to you. 
     “And some sweats?” You called back, blood dripping all over Peter’s hardwood floor. 
     Peter got up to make his way to his room. “Yeah, second drawer on the left side.” He said as he made his way to his bedroom. Knowing you were in there, most likely changing, he knocked. “You decent?” 
     “Nope, not really. I need a pair of your boxers too, though.” You called through the door, now seeing that the blood splattered on your underwear as well. “Also, bring the first aid kit when you come in.” 
     ‘What? Why?” Peter said in a more stressed tone, pushing his way into the room, completely ignoring the fact that you were very much not decent. “Holy shit.” He said seeing you out of your suit, in your bra and underwear, blood dripping down your right leg, pooling onto the floor. Your hand, red and bloody, pressed onto what he only assumed was the wound and blood seeping through your fingers. 
     “Bring a mop too.” 
     Peter ran out of the room to grab the first aid kit, plus some extra bandages and a cleaning solution. When he came back in he found you in the same state, standing in the middle of the room, eyebrows furrowed in pain, clutching your right thigh. 
     “What the hell happened?” He gasped, motioning for you to sit on his bed. You hesitated, not wanting to mess up his sheets. He seemed to notice your thought process quickly adding, “I have to wash my sheets anyway.” 
     “Gross.” You mumbled, scrunching up your face in disgust and finally settling down on his bed. 
     “Move your hand and tell me what happened,” Peter said kneeling on the floor next to the bed, positioned right at your hips. You removed your hand, bloody instantly seeping onto the bed. Peter winced looking at the hole in your leg, quickly grabbing the peroxide and dumping heaps of it onto your leg, much to your distaste. 
     “I got shot.” You stated as he cleaned the blood around the hole with alcohol pads.
     “Well, no shit. I mean by who and how?” 
     “Mobster. Sneaky bitch got me while I was walking away.” You winced as Peter inspected the wound further. 
     “I need to stitch this up. Did it go all the way through?” He said lifting your leg to look underneath for an exit wound. 
     “Yeah.” Peter found the exit wound and held your leg up with one hand, pouring peroxide on the back of your thigh with the other. 
     “You have to be more careful, (Y/N)! This looks really nasty.” Peter scolded, setting your leg back down and prepping the needle and sutures. “What if this was in your chest? Or—or if you didn’t get here in time? You could’ve bled out!” 
     “Well sorry that I don’t have your stupid tingle to help me out when I’m being fucking shot at!” You yelped, gripping the bedsheets. 
     “You don’t need spidey sense, you need fucking common sense,” Peter mumbled, stitching his first suture.
     “What the fuck did you just say?” You looked at him incredulously. 
     “I— uh, nothing.” Peter huffed, focusing back on stitching you up.
     “This is your all your fault, to begin with!” You accused, shifting uncomfortably, due to the needle constantly being stuck into your leg. “You’re the one that begged me to go on patrol for you! You’re the dumb bitch that got caught watc—” 
     “Ok! Shut up! For God’s sake, you’re never gonna let me live that down.” Peter groaned, finishing up the last stitch. “Flip over.” He commanded, pushing at the side of your waist to help with the movement. 
     “Well, it was fucking dumb. Don’t you check to make sure nobody’s home? God, we all know you’re a vocal bitch too.” You said, fully situated on your stomach. 
     “What the fuck is that suppose to mean!?” He gasped, prepping another needle. 
     “You’re a sensitive boy.” You shrugged, wincing when Peter started his next stitch. 
     “I-I am not sensitive! I’m emotionally and physically staunch!” He defended, going in for another stitch. 
     You just raised an eyebrow in amusement. “Sure, whatever you say, babe.” You winked at him, blowing an exaggerated kiss. 
     “You're a jerk,” Peter mumbled, finishing up his stitching job. “A jerk with a fucked up leg.” 
     You hummed, quite amused. Peter got up and started to collect his medical supplies. He shuffled out of the room to put everything away. When he returned you were trying to get up and walk, wincing at every slight movement. 
     “Here, let me just—” Peter lifted you up, bridal style. A small yelp coming from you when a sharp pain shot through your leg. “Sorry.”
     “It’s fine. Can you help me get dressed?” You said as he walked you over to his desk and set you down in his desk chair. 
     “Sure.” Peter blushed, painfully aware of your lack of clothes. He picked out some clothes from his closet and drawers. He helped you into them, wallowing in the uncomfortable silence, taking in each whimper and wince from you whenever he brushed against your thigh. 
     “Fuck, I’m so sorry.” He sighed after you were all dressed. “This is my fault.” 
     You looked at his distraught face, feeling bad for initially blaming him for the events of tonight. “No, Pete. It’s fine. I should’ve made sure all of the guys were knocked out.” You put a hand on his shoulder, giving it a comforting squeeze.
     “No, I should’ve been more careful when I was watching that stuff. I have my spidey sense, I would’ve been able to avoid getting shot. It’s not your fault that you didn’t get bit by a radioactive spider.”
     “Pete, really, I’ll be better by next week anyway. It’s fine.” 
     Peter shook his head, sighing. “I just feel so bad, I shouldn’t have forced patrolling on you.” You hugged him and rubbed his back soothingly. “It’s my fault you got hurt.” 
     “Peter stop. It’s just an unfortunate accident.” You mumbled, hugging him closer. “It could’ve happened to anyone.”
     “But it didn’t happen to just anyone (Y/N), it happened to you. And I caused it. I-I don't know what I’d do if something ever happened to you. What if it was worse?”
     You sighed, pulling away from Peter and cupping his face, seeing the regret and shame pooling in his eyes. Without much thought, you pulled him closer, slowly connecting your lips in a sweet kiss. Truly getting lost in the feeling of his lips against yours, the feeling of perfection. 
     Peter’s eyes widened in shock for a moment, before he was kissing you back, reveling in the feeling he’s been dreaming about for months. You finally pulled away to catch your breath. Peter flushed at your actions, unable to stop the wide smile crossing his features. 
     “Sorry,” You mumbled sheepishly, “just needed to shut you up for a second.”
     “Maybe I should talk more, just to see what happens,” Peter smirked, pulling you in for another shorter, but just as sweet, kiss. 
     You hummed against his lips. “I really like you. Even when you're a dumbass.” You sighed against his lips.
     “The feeling is mutual.” 
     “Rude. I’m not a dumbass.” You gasped in faux offense. 
     “You’re the one with a bullet wound.” he deadpanned 
     “You’re the one who got caught watchin—”

It's been nearly six months since I escaped HYDRA a second time, and since then all me and Steve have done is have sex. It's glorious, the freedom (and the pleasure) that comes with being with Steve, and I love him more and more every day. He told me he loved me about a months ago, over a candle-lit dinner and a bunch of roses. It was so sweet, but I am yet to say the words back to him. Well, not that I've been talking much, per say.
My voice was slowly returning, yet I still couldn't string together more than two words and my voice was far from being strong or sounding like it used to.
Bruce had miraculous found some medication that helped, and abashedly admitted that if the sex was helping me make any noise, it should continue.
One of the main issues, is that almost everyone except my dad had been walking on eggshells around me for months. And in new exactly why. It's because they're yet to bring him the soldier.
And if I'm being a hundred percent honest, I'm slightly happy they haven't yet. After all, I don't know if I could bury my feelings towards him and that wouldn't be fair to Steve. And yet in being fair to Steve, I was being cruel to the soldier. After all, to make Steve comfortable, I'm mentally condemning the soldier to continue the horrid and violent lifestyle that comes with HYDRA.
I shake the overcrowding thoughts off, resetting my stance before landing a pinch to the bag.
"Good." Steve praises, stood beside the swinging bag with his arms crossed over his chest. I continue to punch it hard, focusing more on the strength than the technique as I try and will away the flurries thoughts in my mind. "Why don't we try that thing you always get wrong?" Steve asks, almost mockingly. I shoot him a glare. He chuckled, unwrapping my fists for my before bringing me over to the table where our water sat. I took a big pull of the refreshing liquid, barely paying attention as Steve readies the targets.
When I saunter over, he hands me a set of small, but agile, blades before stepping away. I clear my throat, putting myself into the correct stance before giving my boyfriend a nod. Steve nods back, pressing the button before the human-shaped targets begin to move. They're staggered, the last one so far back I can never seem to hit the bullseye. No matter how many times a I try - which is at least once a day - I can never hit it.
The aim is to hit the targets in order of closest to furthest, burying the blade in the mannequins' chests where the red dots it. I take a deep breath, letting my wrist fall loose. I release the blade of my exhale, watching with narrowed eyes as it sinks itself into the black dummy's chest. I let out a breath I was holding, moving onto the next one. Bullseye. Bullseye. Bullseye. Onto the last target, my vision focused, my mind centred on the farther and the target only.
Inhale. Focus. Exhale. Throw.
"Holy shit!" I exclaimed, before my hand quickly flys to my mouth, slapping over my lips in shock. It was almost cartoonish, the way Steve's eyes widened like a deer in headlights before the brightest, wolfish grin became his lips.
The knife had wizzed through the air, breezing past the other targets before the tip was piercing smoothly through the little red dot at its heart. Bullseye.
"Holy shit." I repeat, a smile pulling the corners of my mouth up. Steve rushed forward, engulfing my knees a bone-crushing hug before lifting me from the ground and spinning around with me in his arms.
"You spoke!" He rejoiced.
"I can talk! My voice - it's back!" I was starstruck, completely and utterly speechless. I can talk.
"Holy shit indeed." A voice came from behind us.
"Tony." Steve greeted as he let me down, my feet already carrying me across the room until I was enveloped in my dad's arms too.
"We should celebrate. I'm throwing you a party." Tony decided, placing a kiss to my hair. "Tonight. Wear something nice, both of you." He pulled away, looking pointedly at me and Steve before retreating with a smile.

I stood before my mirror, hands smoothing over the dark blue fabric laying over my hips. I breathed deeply, head tilting to the side as I studied myself. I wore a silky blue dress that cling to my waist and fell elegantly down from my hips, hitting my ankles and presenting a thigh-high slit on one side. The dress barely had a back, the front showing just enough cleavage to be considered teasing. Around my neck I wore a necklace steve had given me the night he told me he loved me, and I couldn't help but breath out a laugh at the small silver Captain America shield charm hanging from it. I wore some shoes I new I'd regret - trainers. Plain, white canvas shoes that totally ruined the look. But I'd never worn heels before, and I didn't feel like embarrassing myself at my own party.
My hair fell over my shoulders in loose curls, make up simple as I never tended to wear any anyway.
I took a deep breath, opening my room door to be greeted by Steve. He was dashing, clad in a navy blue suit and tie, his hair slightly messy bit in a hot way, and his blue eyes gleaming.
"You look breathtaking, doll." He commented, eyes scanning over my body, clearly lingering on the slit in my dress. I smirked slightly, looping my arm with his outstretched one.
"You look rather handsome yourself." I smiled sweetly, not missing the way steve held back a laugh when he finally noticed my choice of footwear. "Hey!" I laughed, slapping his arm playfully.
"I'm sorry, doll. I just didn't quite expect it." He sniggered, making me scoff and roll my eyes.
"And what did you expect? Three foot tall, strappy heels? When have you even seen me in anything besides trainers or tactical boots, Rogers?" I asked pointedly, shutting Steve up. When we reached the main room when my part was already in full swing, Steve pulled my close to him, coaxing a gasp from my lips.
"And where would you be hiding your knives tonight?" Steve murmured in my ear, nibbling on the lob as his arm kept me firmly pressed against him. It was a little joke we'd formed, as every time I was out in public steve managed to find a knife on me somewhere - in a pocket, down my bra, tucked into the waistband of whatever I was wearing, you name it. To anyone else, we simple looked to be having a normal conversation like any couple would've, but it was much more than that. I assumed in his question Steve was referring to my backless dress that hung so low there's no way I'd even find a way to wear underwear with it. So I went without.
"If tonight goes how I'm planning, you'll have plenty of time to find out for yourself." I whispered against his neck, smirking when his adam's apple bobbed. I sauntered away slowly, making sure my hips swayed as I walked.
The party flew by, people I could hardly remember greeting me and telling me how much they'd missed me as if they'd been some kind of surrogate mother or something to me.
That's where I currently found myself, a fake smile so big it was probably obvious plastered over my face as I nodded along whenever May said something. Peter stood beside her, champagne flute that I just new was filled with appletiser clutched in his hand, smirk hidden behind the rim of the glass at my pained expression.
"So how long have you been home?" May asked, smile so genuine it was embarrassing how fake my own was.
"Only about six months." I smiled back, eyes darting around the room nervously looking for an escape.
"Six months?! You should've met up with Peter sooner! You would've hung out with her, right Peter?" May exclaimed, turning to her nephew who was clearly trying to hold back a snigger as he answered with a quick 'of course'. I sent him a glare that briskly morphed back into a smile the second May was turned my way again.
The smile turned much more real the second I saw my dad climb up onto the table across the room, glass and spoon in his hands. May and Peter spun to look at him along with everyone else in the room when the captivating sound of the metal clanging gracefully against the champagne flue echoed in the room.
"Thank you, thank you, everyone!" Tony called, chatter diminishing in the crowd at his voice. A smile - an actual smile - graced my lips when I realised he was making a speech about me being home. "I'm just here tonight, talking to you all, about my daughter!" Tony began, a small applause following as many pairs of eyes sought for me in the crown.
"You know, the day I found you laying on my doorstep," he stated, taking a swig of his drink, "I thought: how the hell am I gonna raise this stupid ass kid that's been dumped on my like some sort of...animal." I gasped, tears bubbling in my eyes. I thought we were past this- this hate. "This fucking bastard that's come from the filthy streets."
"Tony, that's enough." Nat says from where she stood beside the table, tugging the man's ankle in an attempt to get him down.
"You're drunk." Steve stated from beside him, anger written over his usually perfect features.
"It's all you! It's you, y/n!" He shouted.
"Dad.." I mumbled through my tears, every head in the room locked on my as my bottom lips wobbled aggressively.
"You killed me the day you showed up, and ever day I see you I realise how much I regret taking you in, raising you as my own." He spat with a venom I'd never heard in my dad's voice before.
"Tony!" Steve shouted, but he merely pushed the super soldier's words aside.
"You're not special, y/n! And you never were! Just a Thorne in my side," he explained, climbing down from the table with a slight drunken wobble. "That's why I picked Peter. Smart, agile, unique." He rambled on, making his was through the sea of people that parted instantly for him until he was right in front of me, Peter and May. "So why don't you make this easy, and don't make me chose between you a second time." Tony claimed.
"What? Because you'd chose him?" I sobbed, hand covering my mouth as I bit back the tears.
"Tony, don't!" Steve snapped, now at my side and holding his hands on my hips possessively.
"If you chose him over you're own daughter, Tony...I swear to god somebody better hide you in the time it takes me to find a gun." Nat glared, standing to my side with a wicked look in her eyes.
"Y/n is your daughter." Bruce tried to reason, flinching away when Tony shot him a look that could kill.
"Yeah, I'd chose him." Tony finally settles, silence ensuing after the piercing shatter of a glass broke the room. May stood there, broken glass at her feet and mouth open so wide her jaw must've physically hurt.
"Y/n, I- I am so sorry.." Peter barely whispered from beside May, his own face red from a mixture of threatening tears and embarrassment. I have Tony a dirty look, leaning forward slightly and spitting at the ground in front of him.
"Fuck you." I bit like a viper, spinning harshly on my heel and storming from the room, trying so hard to hide my tears until I was out of sight.
Once I'd reached the stairs, I was kicking my heels off and springing up the steps, two at a time. Reaching the top, I clutched the railing for a second as if to ground myself as a sob ripped through me, my palm covering my mouth again as if it could stop the sounds. I padded quickly across the carpeted floor, fumbling with the handle of my door before pushing it open blindly, stumbling inside.
A sharp gasp was stolen from me when I walked in, more tears clouding my eyes. I hastily swiped them away with my palms, desperate to get a good look of the man before me. His cerulean eyes, long and thick dark hair, his undeniably visible metal arm...
Then his lips met mine. Not desperate or hard like usual, but gentle and slow, as if I would shatter to a thousand pieces if he even held my soft face with too much pressure. "Y/n." he said seriously, but a small smile still glistening in his deep blue eyes. "Soldier." I responded, reflecting his playful seriousness. He pulled me in for another passionate kiss, my whole body relishing in its tenderness. The soldier bought his mouth next to my ear, leaning over me and holding my waist carefully. My thoughts raced one another over and over, but there was always a clear winner: I had him back.
His compassionate whisper floated past my ear, dancing around the loose curls of hair that were tucked messily behind my ear, a whirlwind of emotions tunnelling through me, allowing the butterflies to roam free as he murmured "It's Bucky, by the way."
"We're done."
A frown settled across my face, my head snapping the the side to see Steve stood gobsmacked and clearly hurt in the door. He must've followed me, to make sure I was alright and now he's seen this, and - how long had he been standing there?
"Steve, it's not what it looks like." Bucky tried, now also looking at the Super Soldier.
"So it's not my best friend kissing my girl? Hm?" Steve almost whimpered, as if the words physically hurt him to say.
"Well, yes, but-"
"No. No buts. I don't give a shit what you have to say." Steve interjected me, the harshness of his voice cutting through me like a knife. "Have a nice fucking life." He spat, before turning and retreating out of the door. I started wistfully after him, before glancing back to Bucky and opening my mouth to speak.
"Go. I'll talk to you later." He answered for me, a reassuring glint in his blue-grey eyes. I gave him a small nod and a grateful smile before instantly running after Steve.
"Steve! Steve, wait!" I called after him, but the man's strides were so damn long I couldn't catch up to him even whilst running. "Please, let me explain!" He turned around at that, my body colliding with the wall of muscle that was his torso.
"What's there to explain, y/n?" He said, defeated.
"I- I don't really know. I just don't want to lose you." I murmured, placing my hands of his chest and looking up at the man through my lashes. He wrapped his hands around my wrists before yanking them away from his chest, tears stinging in my eyes. "I love you, Steve." I whispered, for the first time. Steve averted his gaze with a frustrated sigh.
"It's a little too late for that. You can tell Bucky he won't be hearing from me either." Steve spoke, dropping my wrists and turning to leave again. I didn't follow him this time, I didn't call after him, I just sunk to my knees, head in my hands, and cried.

*six months later*
“Go over the plan one more time” Beck’s voice echoed in your ear. Ever since the night he rescued you from the most interesting break up ever, he’s done nothing but encourage you to take down not only Peter, but the whole damn team.
“I’ll get into his head, make him question his loyalties. Ruin his life.” At one point you planned on going full super villain, but then the late night texts started coming and you knew there was some part of Peter Parker that couldn’t let you go.
“And you’re positive you can pull this off?”
“Absolutely.” So you waited until he said the magic words.

“Why here?” The rooftop, the place that saw the rise and fall of your relationship. The last place you saw each other.
“It felt poetic, I guess.” Where else were you supposed to meet, Starbucks?
The both of you talked until the sun went down, about anything and everything that didn’t have something to do with your alter egos. There would always be a part of you that would love Peter, and maybe it was that part of you that wanted this plan to work for a different reason.
You knew eventually the night was going to have to come to an end, but not the way it did. “One more thing before you go, how’s your side?”
He was referring to the healed stab wound you got a few months back from Natasha, the very same person who suggested using you to get to Beck. “She coats her knives in posin, you know? I almost died.”
You weren’t planning on talking about it, but his reaction told you all you needed to know. They were keeping secrets from him and he was just now realizing it. “Let me guess, they were shocked when I was spotted a few months ago, weren’t they?”
A simple nod of the head, that’s all you got.
“It was good to see you Peter, hit me up when you can sneak away again.” There was no point in pushing your luck when he was already starting to question those he was meant to trust with his life. Fake relationship or not, Nat and Tony knew his feelings for you were as real as they could be in the situation he was in. After looking at the footage, Natasha told him the wound just looked worse than it was and that you’d be okay.
If they lied to him about something that serious, what else were they hiding?

“Well that was quicker than I thought.” Beck said, reading over your shoulder, “Took all of five days, impressive.”
“Well I can’t take all the credit, Tony does an exceptional job at over estimating the control he thinks he has over people.” Did you tell yourself that just so you didn’t feel like you were to blame for Peter questioning just about everything he knows? Yeah, but that didn’t mean you were wrong. “Once I get Peter out of there you can wreak havoc on the rest of them however you like.”
“I thought ruining his life was part of the plan?”
It was, but Peter had once offered you a way out. Sure, he didn’t know what that meant at the time, but he still wanted what he thought was best for you. You owed him that in return. “I showed him the true nature of the person he believes in the most, I think that counts.”
*a few weeks later*
You started inviting Peter over to one of your hideouts and much to your surprise, and delight, he started spending more and more of his free time with you. Beck was slightly worried Peter was just trying to trick you like the last time, but he didn’t know Peter the way you did. He was different.
He spent less time working with the Avengers and more time in Queens, he wouldn’t even go to the compound unless it was for a daily briefing - he wouldn’t tell you what they were about, just that he didn’t believe any of it anymore.
“Have you thought about retiring? Not from superhero life, but the avengers?” You didn’t want to come on too strong, but it had to be asked. Beck gave you three more days to do what you had to do, after that was time for his plan.
“If I did…” he paused, “would you stop working with Beck and leave the villain's life behind?” He looked at you like you should know exactly what he was talking about. “I know. I overheard you two the other day when he was here. If you weren’t right I would have been upset and gave you right to Tony, but you were..”
“Peter I never wanted to hurt you..”
“I know. I would have deserved it after what I did to you, though.” You didn’t know how to respond to that, so he kept talking. “Let’s start over, completely. We can use our gifts how we see fit and don’t have to answer to anyone.”
“You really think you can do that?” It wasn’t a question, but a challenge. Like one you would normally give Spiderman, only now it felt like they were the same person.
You used to imagine what his facial expressions looked like under his mask. His eyes were easy, the mask mimicking them helped, but his lips… The crooked grin he gave in response to your challenge, along with his raised eyebrow, told you that was it. Exactly like you imagined. “Can you?”

Once again I went overboard/ way too long, but hey. This also ended up being Pietro x Reader rather than Clint x Reader. The reader is roughly the Maximoff’s age. It was meant to be Clint x Reader, so there are a few hints towards that, but it turned out not working as well.
Head’s up; 3333ish words long, and Italic’s is speaking a different language, Sokovian.
“DON’T SHOOT!” You raised your hands as a man wielding a bow spun out from behind the tree, quickly glancing behind you to make sure the six kids you were escorting were doing the same. 
“What are you doing out here?” The man slowly lowered his arm, but didn’t un-notch the arrow, eyes scanning over all of you. 
“I’m trying to rescue these kids from Dr Strucker's experiments, we needed a destraction, and the Avengers appearing to take the compound seemed like the best we’d get.” You replied, eyes widening in fear as he lifted his bow and released an arrow. 
“GET DOWN!” He flew forwards, grabbing you and pulling you down to the ground, before you both turned to grab the kids. You barely had time to get the last down before an explosion rocked the ground, heat flying past you. “We have a jet, I’ll escort you all there, we can get you all out of here safely.” He jumped back up, eyes scanning around. 
“We have a place to go, people waiting for us.” You protested, starting to stand, a hand on your back kept you down, before it was gone, notching and firing a few more arrows. 
“Guys I got civilians in the line of fire, and after that explosion, they’re converging on us, I could use a hand.” You reached down to your boots, pulling out two knives that you’d managed to steal on your way out. 
“There’s a bunker that’s empty over to our right, I was planning on hiding in it until the battle passed.” You spoke softly to the archer, glancing back at the kids. “This guy is a hero, he’s going to help us escape.” The kids seemed slightly reassured by your soft words, looking up at the man, before nodding. 
“They don’t speak English?”  The man asked softly, looking back down at you for a moment. 
“No, Sokovian and Ukrainian only, they were supposed to learn. If they survived the experiments.” You replied, 
“I’ve got back up incoming, Nat speaks Ukrainian,” He was looking around again, eyes settling on the bunker you had mentioned. “Tell them to fall in, stay low, move quickly. You lead the way, I’ll bring up the rear.” You nodded, turning to tell the kids what was happening, flinching as the sounds of arrow firing emanated from above your head. 
“Ready when you are.” You looked up, waiting until the man stopped firing to start moving. You stayed crouched, semi-crab walking towards the bunker. You could hear the children following suit behind you, but you didn’t look, forced to trust the archer would do as he said and protect them. You needed to keep your eyes forward, needed to look out for any threat coming from ahead of you. 
You jumped up with a scream as a man in navy blue with a shield ran up to you, swinging your knife towards him. He made to grab your arm, so you dodged, instead sweeping out with your other hand to slice at his legs. He jumped back, but it didn’t stop you, you had to protect the kids, you’d promised you would get them out, protect them.
“Whoa, whoa, I’m with Clint.” The man made no move to attack you, using his shield to block your attacks, dodging those he couldn’t. 
“Me! I’m Clint!” The archer grabbed your left arm from behind you, as you raised it, giving the other man the chance to grab your right, stopping you. “He’s a good guy, I promise. Here to help.” They waited, holding you as your breathing calmed and the fight left your body. 
“Nat’s running a perimeter, so is Thor. Tony’s mildly annoyed that we’re diverting from the mission, but Hulks got the onslaught covered, we need to clear the field of civilians.” The man in blue spoke as he let go of your arm, grabbing his shield and throwing it away.  The hold on your arm also loosened, going from preventing you from attacking to simply being a gentle reassuring touch. 
“I can hear him Cap.” The man behind you laughed, before his fingers slowly slipped from your arm. “We should keep going, even with reinforcements I don’t like having these kids out in the open.” Your eyes followed the navy blue man as he took off in a run, grabbing his shield off of a body on the ground and jumping into a fight with a small squad of armed men. 
“Should we?” Clint, they said his name was, laughed, shaking his head. 
“Cap will be fine. Let’s keep going.” You nodded, glancing to check the kids were still near you.
“Everyone alright?” You got a myriad of nods and yeses in response, the kids moving up to fall in line behind you as you crouched down again, ready to keep going. You watched as Clint scanned the area, before going to stand behind the kids, his head nodding to you so you knew it was time to move. 
You made the bunker with relative ease, the kids happily piling into the concrete structure, huddling against the wall for warmth. 
“I’m going to go scout the route to the jet, and help clear out some of the attackers, will you be okay here with the kids?” You grasped the two knives in your hands tighter before nodding. Here was safe, defensible. “Can you use a gun?” He was already offering you a pistol from a thigh holster. “Safety’s off, so just point and shoot, it should have 12 bullets. If you need backup, scream.” He told you anyway, looking up and around before pressing the gun into your hand. 
“How do I know who to trust?” You whispered, realising he was about to vanish. 
“Iron Arse says to use a passcode, if we say-” Clint winced, recoiling to the left. “Not smash Hulk, everyone knows you do that. Baby Starlings.” He decided, nodding to you before rushing out of the bunker. You quickly ducked closer to the kids, keeping them to your back and the only way into the bunker in front of you. 
“Maybe this wasn’t the smartest escape plan.” One of the kids whispered, reaching out to curl up around you, you felt the other kids join the pile. All scared and cold. 
“It was the best distraction we were going to get. I’m sorry I led you onto the battlefield, I was trying to avoid it.” You replied, turning slightly to wrap one of your arms around them in turn. The other still tightly wrapped around the gun 
“It’s not your fault.” Maria, the next eldest at 8 assured you, hugging the kids as well. “You’re saving us, being out here is better than in there, even if we don’t survive it, at least we were free.” All the kids murmured their agreement, they’d heard the screams, seen the other kids as they returned from whatever ‘experiments’ he was using them for. 
“To freedom.” You jumped as another voice spoke Sokovian, a figure not visible in the doorway, but close enough to overhear your conversation. “My name is Natasha. I’m one of your escorts to the jet. Clint said to call you ‘Baby Starlings’.” You let out a shaky breath, lowering the gun. 
“It is safe.” A red haired woman stepped around the door, a soft smile on her face. 
“Alrighty, let’s get you moving. Clint’s just ahead of us, and Steve’s going to bring up the rear, Thor’s acting as rear guard, so both are waiting outside, please do not be afraid of us.” You stood first, helping all the kids up before leading the way out of the bunker, the gun held down by your side as you did. Natasha stepped back out of your way. 
“Hello baby starlings!” A booming blonde haired armoured man greeted you, a hammer in his hands. “I am Thor, God of Thunder. This man is Steve, or Captain America. We are honoured to be your escorts today.” One of the boys pushed past your leg excitedly, going right up to the man named Thor, stopping barely a step away to gaze up at him. 
“Nikoli-” You stepped closer, preparing to pull him back to the group. 
“It is fine.” Thor knelt down in front of the boy, smiling. “You have heard of me?” Nikoli nodded shyly, still staring in wonder. 
“Starlings, we should get a move on. Tony’s reported another wave incoming.” Steve interrupted, reminding you that you were still on a battlefield, still had six young children to protect.
“Of course. Please will you stay close to me, if I tell you to run or duck, I need you to do so quickly. Okay?” Natasha watched all the children, making sure that they nodded or vocalised their agreement and understanding. “The jet is only a short way away, we will be there shortly.” Nastasha started walking, and you motioned the kids to go ahead of you, taking Nikoli’s hand in yours and leading him away from the God of Thunder. Perhaps they could speak later, for now they needed to get to safety. 
The first part of the trip was quick, the kids moved as quickly and quietly as they could. Steve, the man in blue, was walking behind you, turning often to make sure nobody was coming up behind them. Natasha was doing the same at the front, constantly keeping an eye out for any danger. It left you the middle, and you watched it, glancing back to the kids in between each sweep. 
It was how you were the first to notice when one of your charges went missing. The youngest, Peter, was there one moment and gone the next. 
“PIETRO!” You knew instantly how it had happened, calling for the man who moved faster than anyone could see. “PIETRO! GIVE PETER BACK!” Sure the speedster worked for Strucker, but surely he wouldn’t take the children back, surely he knew how bad it would be if you didn’t escape. All eyes were on you as you yelled, but at Peter’s name all eyes flicked to the group of children, noticing one was missing. 
“We have enhanced on the field. Barton just saw one.” The man behind you spoke, eyes darting everywhere for the threat. 
“You won’t see him coming, he’s too fast.” You turned around as you heard a strangled cry, praying it wasn’t Pietro or Peter. 
“Barton's been hit, Nat-” Whoever Barton was, it sounded bad. 
“I’ll get him, and meet back up. I have to go, follow Steve, Y/N will take the back.” Natasha broke into a run towards where the scrambled cry came from. 
“I have to get Peter back-” A hand on your shoulder stopped you from turning.
“You will, I promise I will help you, but we need to get these five on the jet first. No man left behind.” Steve spoke softly, gesturing to the five children who remained, clutching on to each other so no one else could be grabbed.
“I can convince Pietro, I just need-” A tug on your hand stopped you, looking down to see Nikoli’s hand still clutched in yours.
“You promised.” He whispered, and you knew you had to get these five to safety first. 
“Alright. Hold onto each other, try your best not to let go, if Pietro does grab someone you scream okay, scream and tell him off.” The children all nodded, reaching out to hold hands with each other, you kept Nikoli’s hand, nodding to Steve that you were all ready to go.
“We’ll hold hands, so it is harder to steal us.” You told him, and he nodded, moving up the line and offering his own hand to Maria, even though it would hinder his ability to fight. Maria took it, and you all continued forward, the kids much more aware, eyes darting around in hopes of spotting Pietro before he stole anyone else. 
“PIETRO! NO! PLEASE!” You heard Nikoli’s scream first, feeling his hand being ripped from yours, and for a moment you thought it was Nikoli he had snatched, but as the world spun violently around you, you realised your mistake. Your knees buckled underneath you as you were placed back on your feet, but you were caught before you could crumple into the snow, gently placed back into a sitting position, a weight settling in your lap.
“I thought we had agreed, no more of this silly talk of escape.” The first thing you saw when you opened your eyes was Peter, the small boy curled into a ball in your lap, crying. You quickly started running a hand down his back in an offer of comfort.
“We had not. I told you I needed to get the children out, they couldn’t go through what we had to.” You disagreed immediately, looking up to see Pietro pacing, at human speed, in front of you, stressed.
“What Dr Strucker is doing-” Pietro tried to repeat the same defence he always used, but you didn’t let him.
“Is torture. Child torture, it’s not worth it.” Pietro shook his head, refusing to listen to you. 
“So you were just going to leave me? Run off without so much as a goodbye?” There were tears in his blue eyes. 
“There wasn’t time, the battle struck, it was my best opportunity to get them out. I knew you weren’t going to come with me. That you would stop me. I had to-” You couldn’t stress enough how much it was about the kids, not him and whatever you had. “At least take Peter back, you can keep me, but let him go. The archer promised to keep them safe; so did Steve.” 
“They’re here to destroy Dr Strucker, you think the children will be safe with them?” You nodded, hugging Peter closer to you. 
“I know they will be. Safer than if I left them here.” Pietro moved closer with a sigh, holding out his hands for Peter. You scrambled up, slowly placing Peter in his arms, making sure the small boy was secured to his side. “Thank you.” You pressed a kiss to Pietro’s cheek, before he took off, returning a moment later without the child.
“Come on.” He held out his arms, and you stepped into them, feeling his arms fold around you and pull you into a tight hug. “I will take you to them, I will let you go.” He whispered, tears falling from his eyes as he pressed his head to the side of yours. 
“I do love you Pietro, If it was just me I would stay for you, but I can’t leave them, they're just kids.” You wrapped your arms around his neck, cuddling him closer to you, trying to assure him that you weren’t leaving because of him. 
“As I love you. I will find you, once we are all free.” Pietro moved a hand up to cup your cheek, pulling your face away from his chest so he could stare into your eyes as he made his promise. His lips brushed against yours, and you could feel his tears on your cheeks. 
“I’ll wait for you.” He pulled you in for a bruising goodbye kiss, clutching you tightly to him, not parting until you were both gasping for air. You raised a hand to his face, wiping away his tears. “I’m sure it won’t be long.” He smiled sadly at you before, bending down and sweeping you up in a bridal hold. 
Pietro dropped you off outside of the jet, you felt the ghost of his lips pressed against yours, opening your eyes to see all six children in front of you. Natasha and Clint hobbling towards the jet, Clint clutching at his side. 
“I see you convinced him to bring you back.” Steve was the first to acknowledge your return, trying to get the children onto the strange aircraft. 
“I knew I could, come on.” You ushered the children onto the aircraft and into a corner, trying to stay out of the way as Steve helped Natasha bring Clint on board, both grasping for medical equipment. 
“How bad?” Steve asked. You stepped forward at the question, trying to see around them at Clint, trying to see what was happening. 
“Very, thankfully it was a glancing blow, but it’s still not good,” Natasha replied, using a knife to cut open Clint’s shirt.
“Let me help.” You stepped closer, seeing the sheer amount of blood they were trying to stop from leaving his body. Steve instantly stepped aside, knowing Natasha was the one applying the most pressure to his side. 
“Tony need’s help, do you need me?” He asked, a finger raising to his ear, you ignored it, grabbing a cloth and wiping away the excess blood, you needed to see the exact wound. Natasha looked to you, before shaking her head in answer. 
“We’ve got this, go help them.” She lifted her hand at your prompting, instead grabbing hold of Clint’s, giving him something to clutch onto as you peeled the fabric away from where he’d been hit by one of Strucker's new ‘plasma turrets’. A muffled cry of pain leaving his lips as he bit down on them.
“Y/N.” You dropped a hand down to your side, and one of the children pressed something into it. You lifted it back up to see a necklace, the same one you used to control your powers. You hadn’t thought to grab it as you left. You would figure something else out, you didn’t have time to hunt down a necklace, you all needed to get out of there as soon as you could. 
“Thank you.” You didn’t even put it on, sliding it into your pocket, and returning your attention to Clint. You felt your magic humming to life as soon as you saw the open wound, wisps of light already starting to escape your fingertips, probing at the wound. 
You let your eyes fall closed, and let the magic flow through you, ignoring the shocked gasp that came from the others as your whole body started to glow and float. 
The second it was done you collapsed, falling to the aircraft's floor and gasping for air, trying not to let your magic overwhelm you. You felt a hand on yours, pressing your necklace back into your hand. Slowly you gained control, forcing it all into the necklace, until the faint burn left your body. 
You blinked as you opened your eyes, instantly looking to Clint and smiling when you saw he was healed.
“Wow.” You didn’t look at anyone else, people didn’t tend to like it when you used your powers. They were strong, they burnt you from the inside out with energy, it was hard to control, and it often lashed out and onto others as you forced it to heal one injury. 
“Amazing.” You looked up in shock at the sentiment Natasha and Clint echoed. They were staring at you, but both had a hand on Clint’s newly repaired skin, looking like it hadn’t even been injured in the first place, all the blood had even been cleaned away. 
“Did I hurt anyone?” You whispered, looking away again just as quickly. 
“No, only healed,” Clint replied, before looking to Natasha with a tilt of his head. “We can talk more about this later, we just need to round up the last of our teammates and we can get you somewhere safe.” You bowed your head, slowly getting up and moving back to join the kids. “Not a bad thing Y/N, just a conversation best had later,” Clint assured, slowly getting up. 
You nodded, the kids crowding around you in a tight hug, the drain from using you power drawing you into a deep sleep.

Five months had gone since you arrived. You were living the life. 
You and Peter binged watched Star Wars almost every weekend as a sort of reminder that the galaxy was still there. You wished with all your heart you could talk to Anakin and Obi-Wan again, but life apparently had another plan.
During that time, you decided to use your skills to fight with the Avengers. You were an amazing pilot and could use your lightsaber like no one. You had fighting skills none of them had, and that’s what Tony was searching in new recruits.
That morning Tony placed a newspaper in front of you. You looked up from your cereal bowl and grabbed the paper.
Galaxy the brand new Avenger was spotted with Spider-Man
A picture of the two of you standing on a rooftop was right below the headline.
Tony Stark talked about her powers a few days ago at a conference. He says her weapon was of his design but is fully inspired by the famous Star Wars trilogy. He hired her into the team because of her amazing fighting skills.
Further details about her relationship with Spider-Man is to be confirm. 
You shook your head as you grabbed a spoon full of cereal.
“Be careful not to reveal too many details of your relationship with Underoos.” He nodded before sitting down. 
“Don’t worry.” you waved it off. “We never kiss during patrol.” You grabbed some juice.
“Yeah, but be careful alright? You never know, they might use your relationship against you.” 
“Hmhm.” You continued with eating your cereal. 
“Hey Galaxy!” Sam entered the room. 
You turned your head to face him. 
“Taking you on a mission today.” 
“Really with who?” Tony raised an eyebrow. 
“Me, Bucky and Steve”
“Why don’t I know about this?” Tony crossed his arms.
“Steve just got the call.” Sam grabbed an apple. 
“Were waiting for you, ok?” He left the room.
You nodded before putting your bowl in the sink. 
“See ya, Tony.” You smiled and headed to your room. 
You quickly changed into your outfit. It was made with the materials of your Jedi robe. It was just more modern so you could fight better with it. You grabbed your lightsaber and ran downstairs ready for your mission.

“That was amazing.” You laughed as you walked through the compound doors. “And when the guy was all like ‘AAAA don't hurt me’, and I was all like ‘woohoogzzz’ with my lightsaber and then you guys caught him.” You laughed. You loved the missions you got to do here. They were way different from the ones in your galaxy but they were still really fun. 
“Yeah. Great job by the way.” Steve smiled.
You got out the elevator and saw Peter in the living room. 
“Peter!” You jumped into his arms and kissed him.
“How was your mission.” He asked.
“Amazing! We caught the guy in like 5 minutes” You laughed. 
You leaned in the kiss him again when Tony interrupted you. 
“Im right there.” He deadpanned. 
“C’mon!”
Peter decided to spend the night at the compound. It was a weekend day and he didn’t have anything else to do but stay with you.
After dinner he’d always sneak into your room. You would play a Star Wars movie and cuddled until you fell asleep. 
That day you decided to play Revenge of The Sith. You were about to put the DVD in when you turned to Peter who was brushing his teeth. 
“Peter?”
“Hm?”
“You think Anakin turned into Vader yet?” 
The thing is during these five months you were getting nightmares about how he would turn into Vader. You didn’t know if it had happen but you were sure that it would. The bad feeling in your stomach never leaving you. 
Peter pointed two minutes with his finger and left to the bathroom to rinse his teeth. 
You were braiding your hair in stress. 
Peter sat next to you.
“What makes you think that?” He put a hand on your knee.
“Peter I've been getting these dreams...” You sighed. “Just like the ones Anakin had about Padme and his mom.” You pointed to the Tv. “These dreams are about Anakin turning into Vader. And it kills me to know that it’s true. Jedi don’t just get dreams like this.” A frown painted Peter’s face. “It kills me to know that the Jedi council will die. It kills me to know the pain Obi-Wan will feel when his brother turns into Vader.” Your breath was getting squiggly as you felt tears come up. “Imagine the pain I would feel if I saw Anakin turn into Vader.” 
Peter took you in his arms. He rubbed circles on your back to comfort you.

“You ok?” Peter mumbled before sitting up. 
“A-An-Ani. He- He asked for my help, but Obi-Wan didn’t want me too” You cried.

Your mind was going crazy over these dreams. You didn’t know if these dreams were the truth, or if your mind was just messing with you. 
The next day you decided to come with Peter on patrol. You decided you would spend the night at his place and then go to school with him the next day.
May absolutely loved you. 
She thought you brought the best out of Peter and was excited each time you stayed the night or spent time at their place.

You heard a loud squeaky sound, the two of you turned around to see, Ned.
You still had your mask on, you could save yourself.
“Oh shit.” Peter facepalmed. “Not again.” 
You questioned his ‘not again’ before jumping out the window. You stayed hidden on the fire escape wanting to know how Peter was going to get himself out of this. 
“What are you doing here?” May popped her head out the window when she saw you. 
“Ned’s in Peter’s room, he doesn’t know who I am. And he kind of saw me and Peter kiss...” you whispered in panic.
“Crap. I forgot to tell Peter Ned was here. Im so sorry.” May made a face.
“How can you do this to her!?” The two of you heard Ned scream.
You were resisting the urge to burst out laughing. 
“Ned? Ned. I can explain,” Peter’s voice was shaking.
“I think he’s in trouble.” You whispered laugh to May. 
“Yeah...” She nodded, “Why don’t you come inside?” She laughed before you jumped into Peter’s apartment. “You don’t want to tell Ned?” She grabbed a glass of water. 
“I don’t know...” You sighed. “I don’t know if Peter wants to tell him... I don’t mind though.” You shrugged before taking your mask off. 
“How, Peter? I thought you really liked her!” Ned’s scream echoed in the house.
“I do Ned! Im even in love with her if you want to know! I love her so much Ned. I love her so much Ned I want to spend the rest of my life with her!” Peter sighed and tugged his hair in frustration. 
May looked at you and you blushed. You could hear every word they were saying; the walls weren’t paper-thin but they were practically screaming. 
“Then why did you cheat on her? With another superhero? Im sorry, Peter but I’ll have to tell her. You’re my best friend but I can’t lie to her like that...” 
“Think we should help Peter,” May said and the two of you shared a look. 
May slowly opened the door.
“Peter, can I talk to you?” 
Ned sighed and Peter left the room, May gave Ned a smile and closed the door.
Peter saw you in the middle of the living room.
“Ah what the hell!” He sighed. 
“You want to tell him?” You whispered. 
“Yeah? You don’t mind. im sorry.” he tugged his hair.

Peter sighed before headind towards it. You following.
“Peter how could you do this? I- how-” Ned rambeled before his eyes drifted to you. He paused for a second seeing you in your super hero suit.
“Hi.” You waved.
Ned’s eyes went wide.
“You’re Galaxy?” Ned conected the dots with all your weird actions. Everything made sense to him now.
You nodded as a yes.
“I didn’t cheat on her. I would never do that. But im glad you reacted the way you did. You’re a great friend Ned.” He patted his shoulder, Ned didn’t take his eyes of you.
“Wait so why are you Star Wars theme? Wait what are all your powers? Did you choose to be like a Jedi because you could control things like the force?” Ned ignored Peter and started rambling.
You laughed at the scene.
“No I um... I actually come from the Star Wars galaxy. My ship crashed and I have no way to get back. But please don’t tell anyone. No one can know Galaxy is actually from the Star Wars galaxy.” 
“What the fu-” Ned paused. “Wait so you know Luke Skywalker and stuff!? Omg!” 
“Actually no.” you scrached the back of you head. “Im- Well was Anakin’s Padawan.”

“Well I got to go.” He stood up from his seat and left towards the door. “But wow. I mean Peter’s girlfriend is a freaking Jedi!”

“See ya tomorow!” He waved and left.

A few months had passed. The dreams fully dessapeared. You didn’t see Anakin or Obi-Wan anymore; they felt like distant memories. 
After a few months Ned didn’t ask much questions anymore. He already knew everything he needed to know and admired you as much a May did. 
Once in a while you would put a Star Wars movie enjoying them as you always did. They helped you remember your galaxy and what it felt like being a real Jedi. 
You didn’t grieve these times anymore. 
They were still in your heart, but the pain had healed. You had Peter now. You had a life in this world. 
You made yourself a reason to why they didn’t find you. Despite Peter trying to convince you that they probably searched the entire galaxy to find a way to get you, you didn’t really beleive it. From what you concluded, you weren't a loss to them.
School ended and summer was amazing. 
You and Peter spent days on end walking and swinging around the city enjoying the calm and each other’s company. 
You and Peter had just gotten to the compound when Tony came to you.
“Y/n! I’ve been searching for you everywhere.”
You gave him a questioned look.
You thought you were dreaming when you heard the soft mischievous beeps of an R2 unit. 
You turned around and saw the familiar figure of Obi-Wan who was accompanied by C-3PO. 
Your mind went blank for a minutes. You squeezed Peters's hand and told him to turn around. 
Peters eyes went wide and so did yours.

“No, thanks,” Peter said with a small smile. At least May was having a good day. “I think I’ve still got some Chinese leftovers in the fridge. Have fun and call me if you need a ride home.”

Peter hung up and returned to his wallowing. At the very least, May wouldn’t be around to witness his lowest point in college.
He peeked out from where he had buried his face into the pillow and stared at his cell phone. Peter sighed contentedly and relaxed into his mattress. This was exactly what he needed after such a shitty day.
Tony seemed to pick up on his uneasiness. There was silence, probably drinking from his glass, before he said, “Heavy sigh, baby. What has my boy so worried?”

He would have to remember to clean it before he used it the next time, and maybe find a better hiding place for it than his sock drawer. That one time May came close to finding it was the closest Peter had ever come to having a heart attack. He wasn’t looking for a repeat performance.
Peter laid on his side on the bed to purposely ignore the puddle of his release still resting on top of his bed sheets. Nothing grosser than laying in it, he thought.
“Thank you, Daddy,” he said after he caught his breath. “I needed that.”
“Anything for you.” Tony chuckled on the other end. “We should probably wrap this up. I feel guilty knowing you’ve paid a good chunk of cash for tonight.”
I want to stay, Peter thought, but he caught himself before the words left his lips. Instead, he just agreed with a quiet, “Yeah. You’re right. I’ll catch you later, Tones.”
“Hey, now, don’t sound so disappointed. I could never ignore your calls, my sweet boy. I’ll always answer for you.”
For once, Peter’s thankful Tony can’t see how his smile didn’t quite reach his eyes. He bid Tony goodnight and hung up. One breath, and then two. He really needed to clean up; his sheets and toy needed to be washed, and he needed a shower. 
May still wasn’t home when he started the washing machine and when he finished bathing. He caught his wet-haired reflection in the mirror and tried not to cringe at just how disappointed he looked.
“He’s a sex line operator,” Peter said to himself while pushing wet curls from his forehead, “nothing more.”

You’d had the melody in your head since Howie’s lips lingered on yours. You hummed it through work. Howie brought you back to the clubhouse. Instead of sleeping, you showered and headed for the roof with Frank’s guitar.
Coming back down after a while. You were starting to get cold. As you head down the hall, you hear yelling voices. Confused, you move past your room, heading towards the main room. It sounded like Pepper and Tony, that’s odd you couldn’t remember a time they actually fought.
“Damn it Tony! Why would do you do that to her!?” Pepper demands. 
“She’s our family Pep. She’s living behind these walls! I did what I had to, to get her to let us in again!” Tony yells back. Were they fighting about you?
“So you kicked in her apartment door!? Do you not see how messed up that is?” Pepper scoffs. You gasp. 
Tony broke into your apartment? You turn bumping into the wall, the guitar hums. When you glance back, Pepper and Tony are staring in shock. You shake your head running towards your room.
“Y/N!?” Tony calls.
“Leave her alone!” Pepper orders.
“I’ll fix this.” Tony yells back.
“You just make everything a mess Tony!” She throws back.
You shove open the door, it bangs off the wall. Baby looks confused and startled. You drop the guitar on the bed, grabbing for the bags you had. Ripping open drawers you start shoving your things in. 
“What the hell is going on?” You hear Howie’s confused, sleepy voice. He comes into the room, he moves quickly. Grabbing the things from your hand. “What are you doing?” He demands, staring at you like you were out of your mind. Your hand swing. Slapping him hard across the face.
“Stay away from me.” Your voice shakes. You snatch your things from him, moving to the bed to shove them into the bags.
“Stop it!” He grabs the bag from you.
“Give it back!” You yell.
“No!” He yells at you. “You’re not leaving!” He stares down at you. Anger and pain in his brown eyes.
“Why would you do that to me Howie?” You shake your head.
“Do what?” His brow pinches together.
“Why is everyone yelling?” Peter is standing in the hall. “What the fuck, are you packing?” He’s suddenly awake.
“I’m leaving this place. Can’t trust the Stark’s.” You shake your head.
“Hey!” Howie scoffs.
“Like hell you’re leaving.” Peter storms in. Snatching the other bags away. He looks so offended and angry.
“Fuck you! Both of you! No all three of you! You don’t tell me what to do!” You shove Howie away from you. But he barely shuffles back a step. “I’m leaving.” You grind out.
“No you’re not!” Howie grinds out.
“Why are you trying to leave? What the fuck happened?” Peter shakes his head.
“I know what you did!” You yell at them. They exchange a look, mildly confused.
“What did we do?” Howie wonders, his brow pulling down.
“Broke into my apartment!” You throw your hands up. The both lean back, eyebrows snap up.
“The fuck?”
“Hell no.”
Your eyes cut between the two of them. Did they really not know?
“Don’t tell me you had no idea. Your dad had my apartment broken into.” You stare at them.
“He did what?” They snap at the same time. Your bags hit the ground. Howie’s hands grab your waist, tossing you over his shoulder. They stalk out of the room.
“Well you only have your damn self to blame.” Pepper scoffs.
“What the fuck did you do old man?” Peter demands stalking into the main room.
“I did what needed to be done.” Tony throws back.
“By breaking into her apartment?!” Howie growls.
“I was trying to get her to let her walls down. Let us in again. She’s our family!” Tony explains.
“That wasn’t your job!” Peter yells.
“It was our fuck up! We had a plan!” Howie yells.
“It’s fine I’ll just hang here.” You bite out.
“Howie put her down.” Pepper sighs.
“No.” His tone annoyed.
“Can I at least ask something?” You huff.
Howie heaves a heavy sigh, setting you down, turning you around in front of him. His hands grip your waist to keep you from going anywhere. Your eyes roll so hard you were pretty sure there was a chance they wouldn’t return. Pepper looks to be struggling with a smirk on her mouth.
“Okay, break into my apartment so I’ll come stay here?” You blink at Tony. “I don’t understand.” 
“You and Howie split. He was never the same. You were bouncing far past rock bottom. Neither of you talk about why you split up. To this day we don’t know why. None of us.” You swallow, chewing your bottom lip.
“I don’t know that either.” You admit softly. 
“I’m not having this conversation right now and when I’m ready to talk about it. It won’t include my parents.” Howie bites out.
“I thought if I could get you two around each other more, things would fall into place again for you. It has, you’re both so damn happy. So no I’m not sorry for what I did. It might have been messed up, but I’d do it again.” Tony scoffs, throwing his hands up.
You and Howie exchange a look. You glance at Peter, he shrugs. Tony had a point, as annoyed as you were. His heart was in the right place. His actions were messed up, but he was trying, and nobody said he was a smart man.
“But why did you steal my stuff?” Your head tips. Tony’s brow pulls down confused.
“I didn’t steal your stuff.” He shakes his head.
“What stuff?” Pepper looks concerned.
“Howie’s hoodie, from high school. My guitar was smashed. My notebooks ripped apart. The photo of the four of us.” You swallow. “It was gone from my nightstand.” You nod.
“Y/N, I only had someone kick in your door and toss your things around.” Tony stares at you.
“Wait.” Peter looks between you and Howie.
“Did someone else destroy your apartment and steal your things?” Howie looks down at you.
“I chewed my guy out. He swears he only knocked stuff down and kicked the door in. He said he never went into your room.” Tony admits.
“So who the fuck destroyed it and stole your stuff?” Peter looks down at you.
“Holy fuck someone really did break into my apartment.” You look up at Howie.
“They must have taken dads break in as an advantage.” Fear flashes in his whiskey colored eyes.
“You can’t leave.” Peter shakes his head.
“I won’t let you.” Howie’s hands tighten on your waist.
“Someone really did break into your apartment.” Pepper nods, sincerity on her face. “You’re safer here.” 
“I don’t know how I feel right now.” You admit softly.
“Sleep on it.” Pepper nods.
“I guess.” You nod. 
“Can we talk?” Howie looks from Peter to you. “The three of us?” His brow pinches together, concern on his face. You and Peter exchange a confused look.
“I guess?” You nod.
“Sure.” Peter nods. Howie grasps your hand, pulling you after him. Peter follows with a faint chuckle.

Summary: Taking the fight to Thanos seemed like a straight forward plan, but [Y/N] knew first hand just how capable their enemy was. Now that he had more stones in his arsenal, she couldn’t help but feel like the odds were against them. Still, they are the Avengers! They faced impossible odds before. This time shouldn’t be any different, right?

Part 13 - Titan
A lot happened after that.
After saving Strange, sending the pale alien out into open space, “knighting” Peter as an official Avenger, and finalizing their objectives, the group decided to face off with Thanos on Titan. Rather than bring the fight back to Earth, it was better to surprise him on his own turf. Of course, [Y/N] had strong objections with this plan at first, but thinking about it objectively, she had to agree. There would be countless casualties in a battle that Thanos had envisioned for Earth. Rather than allow such an event, it would be safer for everyone to have them face off the root of the problem far from their loved ones.
When the ship crashed onto the planet, the team was unprepared for the sudden landing. The metal broke apart right as it hit solid ground. Tony and Peter tried their best to steer the ship, though they didn’t know how to properly work the controls, while Strange and [Y/N] worked hard to protect the group from the impact. He utilized his magic to protect the area around them while [Y/N] used her powers to provide a sturdy barrier that draped around each individual person.
Everything was sparking, the machines all torn apart, but due to Strange and [Y/N]’s joint efforts, none were harmed. Though a bit disoriented by the landing, they were all safe and soon quickly got up.
Before the team could feel at ease with their situation, trouble had to come knocking. Right when Peter finished warning the team with another one of his movie references, an object rolled on the ground and stopped in the center of their small circle. [Y/N] could barely collect her thoughts when it suddenly opened, a flash of light and energy propelling each and every one of them backwards.
Her powers instinctively shielded her from the blast, allowing her to come out with no broken bones but with some minor bruises. She was starting to feel very annoyed, and immediately shrouded herself in a blanket of air and energy, promptly turning invisible before anyone could lock onto her.
“Thanos!”
A gruff and unfamiliar voice yelled out, a mixture of anger and impulsive rage, as Strange quickly protected himself with magic to stop the flying knives from finding their mark. The stranger roared, his skin a grayish color with odd tattoos, that looked more like engravings, all over his body. Before he could get another sound out, however, Strange sent out his cloak that swiftly tied itself around the new arrival’s head, muffling all his incessant shouting.
Iron Man and the stranger with a weird helmet fired at one another, the two flying with their tech. When it seemed like Tony had the upper hand, the helmeted man chuckled to himself as he pressed a button. Looking down at his chest, Tony saw a foreign object near his arc reactor that hummed with energy and a strong magnetic pull forced him onto one of the metallic objects of the ship.
“Tony!” [Y/N] called out, causing the helmeted man to be momentarily confused when a voice seemed to come out from nowhere.
She ignored the attacker’s confusion as she used her powers to help wedge Iron Man off of the metal he was stuck to. It wasn’t easy. The magnetic force of the object was surprisingly very strong. It was a joint effort to pry him off.
When Iron Man was finally free, he immediately rushed off to the fallen alien, who was still struggling with the sentient cloak. The moment Tony had his arm out, ready to shoot, the cloak let go of its prisoner and returned to Strange. Seeing this, the helmeted man grabbed Spider-Man, who was entangled by a strange, possibly electrical, rope and pointed his gun to the kid’s head.
[Y/N]’s heart skipped a beat, seeing her friend being held hostage in front of her, and quickly shot out a wave of energy to enclose around Peter’s body. She wasn’t sure how strong the weapon was nor if her powers were able to defend from a fatal blow at such close range, but if she was stupid enough to take on an infinity stone [Author’s Note: Part 7 - War], then she was damn well brave enough to take on a hit from an alien gun.
“Everybody, stay where you are!” The man yelled with the weapon still pointed at Spider-Man’s head, “Chill the eff out!”
[Y/N] was just about ready to send out her powers to wrench off the stranger’s arm away from Peter when the man reached over to his helmet and pressed a button. It quickly came off him, revealing a human face underneath that mask. She was stunned, surprised to find someone who looked human rather than an alien like his other comrades.
“I’m gonna ask you this one time. Where is Gamora?”
“Yeah, I’ll do you one better,” Tony instantly replied, his helmet coming off too, “Who’s Gamora?”
“I’ll do you one better,” the alien under Tony’s foot challenged, “Why is Gamora?”
Now this left [Y/N] baffled. Their demands were something that none of them were expecting. The sudden fight didn’t really startle them too much, considering they were now on enemy territory, but the reason behind the battle left all present very confused.
“Tell me where the girl is or I swear to you, I’m gonna French-fry this little freak.”
The moment that man said those words, something in [Y/N] just snapped.
“Do that and I’ll burst your body like an overfilled balloon,” [Y/N] warned, her voice dripping with an icy, murderous tone.
This was a first for her. She was even startled by how calm she felt even though those bone chilling words had exited her own lips, but upon further thought, she found this change to be natural. After witnessing so much, fighting alongside many people, and seeing first hand how some of her friends had fallen… How could she not have hardened her heart? Besides, in this line of business, killing wasn’t unusual. It’s just… She’d never actually openly taken a life. It was all in self-defense. Would she come out of this battle unscathed?
It wasn’t just her that was shocked by her words. Both her own team and those against her were also surprised. The group that had started this fight was startled to hear a voice without some sort of body. Clearly, [Y/N] was still invisible. Her friends, on the other hand, were feeling many emotions. Strange might not have known [Y/N] the way Tony and Peter had, but he still understood her character enough to know she wasn’t a hardened killer. That’s when everyone’s emotions shifted from shock to distressed.
Her friends were especially distressed when the two realized that the conviction in her voice held no trace of a lie. It was a promise, those words she said. Seeing how far she’d go, it was enough to show how much she endured this whole time. She did not want to lose any more of her friends. She did not want to sacrifice any more of her loved ones’ lives. Just how much did she see? Just how much did she suffer to come this far?
“Just try it, creepy disembodied voice,” the man taunted, calling her bluff.
The sad part was… [Y/N] wasn’t bluffing.
Before she could do anything rash, Tony quickly interjected.
“Let’s do it. You shoot my guy and I’ll blast him!” Tony indicated with his outstretched arm, his suit shifting into a blaster that was equipped and ready to shoot at the alien’s head.
“Do it, Quill!” The gray alien under Tony called out, his eyes never leaving the barrel of the blaster pointed right at his face. “I can take it.”
“No, he can’t take it!” The female alien countered, clearly worried for the gray alien’s life.
“She’s right. You can’t,” Strange agreed.
“Oh, yeah?” The man, Quill, scoffed, “You don’t wanna tell me where she is? That’s fine. I’ll kill all three of you and I’ll beat it out of Thanos myself. Startin’ with you.”
The moment [Y/N] heard his gun hum to life, her whole body went stiff. Her energy that was sent to wrap protectively around Peter began to twist and turn, being fed more and more power as [Y/N]’s focus zeroed in on her friend’s captor. She was just about ready to attack when Strange interrupted her murderous thoughts.
“Wait, what? Thanos?” Strange repeated, puzzled. “All right, let me ask you this one time. What master do you serve?”
“What master do I serve?” Quill mocked, clearly not understanding what Strange was getting at. “What am I supposed to say? Jesus?”
“You’re from Earth,” Tony concluded, a bit annoyed and no longer feeling the need to fight.
“I’m not from Earth. I’m from Missouri.”
“Yeah, that’s on Earth, dip-shit. What are you hassling us for?” Tony questioned, now completely fed up with this man.
“So, you’re not with Thanos?” Peter asked.
“With Thanos?” Quill repeated, now completely confused. “No, I’m here to kill Thanos. He took my girl. Wait, who are you?”
He finally put down the gun, and [Y/N] followed and withdrew her powers that were building up, ready to explode. She was still wary of these strangers, but she now knew that they were no longer their enemies.
“We’re the Avengers, man,” Peter replied as his mask came off.
Hearing those words, Quill released Peter and let out an exasperated sigh. He was also irritated to hear that his long-awaited revenge had not been fulfilled.
Seeing this, [Y/N] dissipated the energy shrouding her, becoming completely visible for all to see. Those that didn’t know who she was were stunned to find a woman appear out of thin air. Now they knew where the “creepy, disembodied voice” was coming from.
“You’re the ones Thor told us about!” The female alien said.
“Thor?” [Y/N] exclaimed, no longer showing the icy emotions she felt when Peter’s life was in danger. “Did you say Thor? He’s alive?”

[Y/N] was very clear on the plan, but never was she so disgusted with the enemy that she wanted to abandon all logic and just bash his psychotic head into the ground.
His plan was sick. Just a snap of his fingers and millions - no, trillions - of innocents would just vanish from the face of the universe. No one would be spared by such a feat and yet that was his ultimate goal. To purge the universe of its over accumulating population so that none would have to go hungry to the point of extinction again. He acted like a prophet, sacrificing his time and efforts for the good of the universe, but it was just the twisted ravings of a madman.
Mercy? More like cruelty. Everything he spouted was inhumane. A monster in every way.
“I think you’ll find our will equal to yours,” Strange said.
“Our?” Thanos repeated in confusion.
That was the signal. Following that, Tony barreled into Thanos with a piece of the alien spaceship, crushing Thanos beneath the unimaginable weight of the metal. Dust clouds emerged from the ground and flew outwards from the impact, draping the vicinity in a thick layer of dirt and dust. But even that wasn’t enough to stop Thanos.
A purple glow shot out from where Thanos was hit and the metal broke apart, revealing himself to be uninjured and free. He yelled out in anger from the surprise attack, using another stone to change the metallic debris into a swarm of bat-like creatures that rammed into Iron Man.
Everyone worked together after that. There was no time or room for a breather.
Hitting in any possible way, propelling one another towards Thanos for another hit, and dodging so as to not lose their lives. That was the fighting style that everyone took part in. It was complete and utter chaos, yet still there was some semblance of rhythm. There was no gap to allow Thanos time to use his infinity stones. Even the surprising new addition, the blue woman who was also looking for the girl named Gamora, didn’t hinder their plan. In fact, she followed along and joined in on their battle. And no one seemed to question it. As long as it was an enemy of Thanos, she was deemed a friend.
Strange and [Y/N] were on support. He would portal several of the team towards and away from Thanos while [Y/N] used her powers to protect them from most of the damage on behalf of the others. Her hands were now bruised all over, taking hit after hit, but she disregarded that familiar pain and pressed on. The others threw punch after punch, causing Thanos to be bombarded with attacks from all around.
The goal was simple. Get that gauntlet away from Thanos.
Finally, all their efforts were paying off as they had succeeded in getting Mantis, the female alien on Quill’s team, onto Thanos and forcing him to go under. With everyone struggling to keep the purple giant in place, it was Tony and Peter’s job to pry off the gauntlet from the semi-unconscious Thanos.
But everything went to hell in just a single moment of impulsive anger and grief.
“He… He mourns,” Mantis cried as she felt the swirl of emotions going through Thanos’ head.
“What does this monster have to mourn?” Drax, the tattooed alien, questioned as he strained to keep Thanos’ arm down.
“Gamora,” the blue newcomer answered, realizing the truth.
“What?” Quill asked as he turned away from Thanos and towards the blue alien.
“He took her to Vormir,” she replied, “He came back with the Soul Stone. But she didn’t.”
Tony knew what those words meant and tried to calm Quill down. The whole team was already struggling to pry off the gauntlet from this monster, so it was unwise to let one act of anger mess up the whole plan. But even [Y/N] could sense the unrest within Quill that the truth had ignited. She understood the anger and pain he was feeling, but she also knew this wasn’t the time to act. Not yet.
“Don’t!” [Y/N] pleaded as she struggled to keep Thanos down alongside the rest of them. “It’s not time yet! Don’t!”
But it was too late.
Shit! [Y/N] internally screamed as Thanos finally broke out of his trance.
Everyone holding onto Thanos was flung off the moment he regained his senses. The plan was crumbling before everyone’s eyes as the monster regained the upper hand and separated the team into all different directions. Some fainted from the intense blow of the infinity stone while others were desperately trying to evade the onslaught of debris from the destroyed moon that Thanos had sent their way.
Tony tried to fly away in time but was caught up by a massive piece of the moon while Peter and [Y/N] quickly set out to save those that couldn’t dodge for themselves. However, before she could actually put in the effort of saving a few of her new comrades, something appeared below her feet. Her brain couldn’t process what was happening in the heat of battle, and she couldn’t stop what came next.
Gravity worked against her and just as [Y/N] recognized the magic at play, she heard his voice.
“You are needed elsewhere,” the culprit said, his voice cracking with exhaustion.
“Stephen!” [Y/N] yelled with all her might in both disbelief and fury as she fell through the portal to places unknown.
That was all she could scream out right before disappearing from Titan.

edie's pov
i take in a deep breath and click the call button on my phone after hovering over it with my thumb for a few long and painful seconds. i slowly bring it up to my ear. on the third ring, a small click sounds on the other end.
"ah! you're still alive. yippee!" tony's voice chirps jokingly at me from wherever he and the rest of the avengers were staying. i sit up in my bed and play with the end seam of my shorts.
"i am..." i trail off awkwardly, not entirely sure what to say to the man. he's making me call him everyday, and i don't know how long it's going to last, but i'm already running out of things to tell him at this point. i'm healing, my bruises are fading, the pain is subsiding.
"is peter treating you right?" he asks. i gulp at his question, remembering the moments peter and i shared only a day ago.
"u-uh yeah, wait- um what do you mean?" i stutter out, mentally kicking myself.
"i mean, is he taking care of you? yanno, making you chicken noodle soup or hot chocolate and giving you back massages- actually scratch that last one, i don't wanna think about that." he rambles on, my face flushes and i pull loose pieces of fabric off of my shorts completely in panic. no way can mr. stark find out about peter and i...whatever we are.
"hey! it's not like that." i mumble, doing my best to cover my nerves.
"yeah, sure it's not." tony retorts back with a snort, his voice just above a whisper. i'm at a loss for words, "uh, pfft, yeah, it's not."
"i don't care either way- well, that's a lie, i care a little bit. just keep healing and make sure peter stays sharp out there." i squirm in my spot and continue to update mr. stark on my condition, eager to get off of the phone.
with a final 'goodbye' and 'don't do anything stupid'- he ends the call and i flop back down on my bed. my side only slightly aches when i move now, becoming less of an annoyance and more of a numbing feeling.
i glance around my room at my fresh yellow walls. the color brightens the space and brings a warm feeling to the pit of my stomach. but my bed is still in the middle of the room, making me feel open and vulnerable on all sides. with one big huff i roll out of bed and plant my feet at the end of the frame. i give one push with both hands and the bed goes skidding back to the wall. in the process, my side cramps up and a burning sensation pushes its way through my body, making me wince.
"you okay there?" a soft, yet teasing voice speaks up from behind me. i dip my head down between my arms still placed on the bed and peek at the intruder through my legs from upside down. peter stands there, a lazy smirk spread across his lips. i roll my eyes and flip my head back up to turn around and face the boy.
"absolutely. i don't always need your help, parker." i reply and lean against the end of my bed. after the alarm went off last night, peter and i spent our time making food until he had to go out on patrol, more hesitant that ever to leave. none of us said a word about the disturbance, despite my suspicions. he returned late in the morning, later than his usual schedule. and when he did get back, he went straight to sleep, not even making it to his room. he stayed fast asleep on the couch until late afternoon. i guess he came straight to me after he woke up.
it's only been two days since i've been out, but my body is growing restless at the lack of adventure. jealousy poked at heart knowing that he would be the one seeing and protecting the city until mr. stark deemed me ready to get back out there.
i push the feeling away, not wanting to focus on things i have no control over.
peter takes a few steps closer to me, speaking playfully, "so, mr. stark gave me a call today. he wanted to know if i was taking care of you." once his body reaches mine, his fingertips immediately move to trail along my hips, "what do you think, wolfie? am i taking good care of you?" his voice lowers the closer he leans in.
i gulp audibly at his question, thinking back to my own conversation with mr. stark. my eyes meet his and i can’t t form any words under his gaze. so i just nod sheepishly at him, it seems to be the only thing i can do lately. peter's mouth curls into a satisfied smirk and it makes my stomach drop into my feet. an overwhelming surge of heat passes through my body and i have to lean back farther into the mattress for support.
peter and i didn't really talk about what had happened yesterday. at the time, it didn't seem weird or out of the ordinary. it felt natural, good. now that we've—i've—had time to think about it, well, i don't know what to think. i don't even know what to say to him. it's embarrassing how much control he seems to have over me, after so many years of being able to joke around as friends.
now his closeness makes my heart squeeze both in adoration and frustration. i'm angry at how fast he's able to make me melt into his hands. i used to tease and make him blush, now he somehow turned the tables. just add that to the list of things i can't control.
peter leans in, close enough to pepper a soft kiss to the corner of my lips, "i gotta head out, but i'll be around." he pulls away and points to his ear, where his comm rests.
"see you around." i say with a level voice, now too focused on gaining a hold of myself to be sweet with him. he drops his remaining hand from my hip, choosing to ignore my change in demeanor. with a small wave that reminds me of the nervous boy he used to be, he turns the corner and i'm alone again.
my skin is buzzing. the feeling is mostly concentrated on where peter's fingers had been, but it's spreading quick. needing a distraction from the feeling, i change out of my comfy clothes into something a little more suited for action. i rumble through my luggage and pull out a black sports bra with leggings to match. before i leave, i shove my own comm in my ear.
after making my way to the training room, i set up a few different targets. the first one is a simple circle with three red rings spaced around a red center, i place it firmly on the ground. the next one is the same, except this time i suspend it into the air, letting it sway back and forth. the last one is a little different. it's human shaped. as a fighter who refrains from hurting people as much as possible, i'm hesitant to set this one up. but after what i went through, i need the practice on a human target.
i flip through my phone and search for some music to get my energy up, i connect to the speakers that run throughout the house and crank up the volume. the bass of the music cancels out the continuous buzzing through my body, allowing me to shake the tension away. i stretch in front of the mirror before pulling a table to the far side of the room, opposite the targets.
on the table i set out an array of throwing knives, each one reflecting the fluorescent light from the high ceilings. i run my hand over the edge of one knife in particular before grabbing the handle and nailing the middle of the hanging target in one fluent motion. the knife sticks out from the center as the momentum violently swings the target in the air.
i take in a deep breath and pick up two more, one in each hand. i throw both at the same time, hitting the grounded target side by side with barely an inch between them. i continue to practice on the two targets, using up all the knives on the table in the process. i'm sweating and panting as i go to collect them and start again. i let my eyes pass over the human shaped target, but i quickly look away and focus on the other two once again.
after ignoring the last target for what seems like forever, i stop myself mid throw as i notice how shredded the others have become. i drop my arm to my side and use my other hand to turn off the music.
the silence of the room makes the pounding in my ears almost unbearable as i scope out my last challenge of the night. the lifeless figure has no face. it's only the silhouette of a head and torso, a simple shape. despite the fact, i can still see the features of one person in particular.
i raise my hand and ready myself to throw the potentially deadly weapon held in my grasp. i can feel my heart rate pick up and i stare down the figure before me.
a female, seemingly innocent.
my breathing grows heavier as i fall back on the memories of that night, only a few days ago.
she looked scared, all i wanted to do was help.
my stance falters at the thought. my eyes clouding over as i grit my teeth and shake my head to snap myself out of it.
"see what happens when you try and help people?"
with a grunt, i charge at the inanimate target before me. my legs cross the floor in three simple strides as i jump up to plunge the knife into the head of the target. i slide down and i hold the knife tighter in my grasp, letting it slice all the way down the figure, nearly severing it in two. i drop the weapon.
with heavy breaths, i turn to grab another human shaped target. i kick the other one out of the way, replacing it with the new one.
i try different attacks, needing to set up a new target every time i 'kill' the last one. i do it again, and again, and again- picturing the same face every time.
peter's pov
i can't just come out and tell edie i'm searching for the people that attacked her. but i can't come up with any explanation as to why i'm staying out so late—err, early? i don't know. i do know that every second i'm not out here looking, it's becoming more and more dangerous for her. it scares me.
the sun is peaking out from behind the tall buildings of the city. i spent the entire night staking out two people specifically, but no such luck. now i'm sat atop a building, hesitant to call it a day and go back to edie. but, oh boy, i want to see her. thinking about her makes my heart swell, and now that i'm finally able to show her how i feel, it seems like the whole world let out of sigh of relief for me.
i like the way she reacts to me. it being a huge contrast to the playful, witty banter that we used to share exclusively. now, when we get close- i'm the one who takes control. it's a weird change of pace between the both of us, but i don't mind it one bit. it’s almost like i crave it.
once making the decision to go back to the compound, i swing myself across the city, eager to see edie. i get to the door and press a suit covered thumb over the touch screen. the glass door slides open and i slip into the cold air of the compound, making sure the glass shuts and locks behind me before i go any further.
i pull the mask off my head and stumble into the living room, hoping edie is somewhere close. when i don't see her, my face drops and i turn to jog down the hall towards her bedroom. not finding her again, i raise my hand to the comm in my ear and speak.
"e, you there? where've you run off to?" i turn on my heel again to step into my room down the hall. as i do so, her voice floods through my head.
"training room." she utters, her usual soft voice sounding hardened and cold. i quirk an eyebrow up as i change into more comfortable clothes, confused by the girls tone. nevertheless, i finish up and trot over to her.
as i round the corner, my eyes settle on her standing in the middle of the room, rolling her shoulders back with a knife in her hand. i stand quietly and watch her movements, hesitant to step in and become an accidental target. edie raises her arm to throw and adjusts her feet into a low stance. so quickly, i almost miss it, the knife flies through the air towards a human shaped figure. to my surprise- it clatters against the target and falls to the floor.
she lets out a groan and pulls at her hair, muttering profanities under her breath as she turns to see me staring. her body stiffens under my gaze and slowly she lowers her arms to her side, a doe-eyed expression on her face.
"you're back." she mutters. i take a few steps into the room and gulp at what i see. targets similar to the one she just attacked are shredded and thrown across the room in piles. there must have been fifty of them, each one damaged in a different way.
looking back at her, i force a smile on my face, "you've been busy, yeah?"
her eyes follow the path mine took and she shrugs, indifferent, "mhm. training." i nod hesitantly.
"have you slept at all?" i pipe up, curious at how long she has been here.
"not really, no."
another nod, and i shuffle over to the table that holds her collection of weapons. i'm impressed with her skills, seeing as she has no 'super powers'. but damn, she could take anyone down in seconds. i admire the girl in front of me, hoping she knows just how much i do. not long after, a bug of curiosity wiggles around my stomach.
"do...you think you could teach me?" the words slip out of my mouth before i can think of the consequences. edie looks at me with a stoney expression that makes my heart jump. i regret my words immediately, afraid that i offended her or something.
i try to take it back, "i mean- only if you want! i know it's stupid so you don't..."
the devilish smile that creeps along her face shuts me up, "i'll teach you."
i let out a small breath, "o-okay. i should probably go change." i say as i look down at my baggy clothes and compare them to her tight fitted ones. edie shakes her head and waltzes up to me, the smug smile still gracing her lips. i grow nervous, realizing i'm in her territory now. this is her thing, so i force myself to hand over the reigns.
she gestures to the rows of knives on the table, "take you pick, parker." her cool and confident voice sends a small shiver down my spine. i look closer at the table and gingerly run my fingers along each sharp edge. i stop at a knife with a shiny black blade and red handle and i pick it up to feel the weight of it in my hand. the blade isn't metal or steel and it has small ridges on the surface. i bring it closer to examine it even further.
"that's obsidian, black volcanic glass. it was used a lot in the stone ages," edie takes the knife from my hands and twirls the point on the tip of her finger, "it's sharper than steel, and nowadays surgeons use it in their scalpels...good choice, peter." she smiles up at me. i can feel my cheeks flush. she places it back in my palm and struts to the center of the mat, "we'll start close, hopefully you can hit the target. how's your aim?"
i roll my eyes at her taunting words and walk over to her place on the mat. edie strolls around me in circles, observing my body language- which is less confident than i'd like to admit. she stands in front of me and plants her hands firmly on my hips, twisting them into a desired position. next, she does the same with my shoulders, all the while sticking her tongue out in concentration.
then she comes to the knife in my hand and pulls it away, only to place it back and wrap my fingers around it one by one. it immediately feels more comfortable in my hand. she circles me one more time and hums in satisfaction at her work.
"now, obsidian is brittle, so it's really important to make your shot count or else you risk breaking the blade," edie comes back around my front and leans in close, her finger resting under my chin, "don't break my blade." she threatens with a smug smile curling at the edge of her lips. i can't stop my eyes from dropping down to look at them, and she notices.
edie traces her finger along my jaw line, making me shiver once again. i groan at the lack of control over my body and my eyes widen at the sound. she just smiles and lets her hand fall down my chest to finally rest at her side before taking a step back. she points behind her to a circular target a few yards away.
"give it a go." her voice grows softer, encouraging me to make a move. i tighten my grip around the knife and raise my arm to chuck it at the target. i stop short.
"could you...maybe show me first?"

“Oh, come on, Tony! Let me go on the mission! I’m useful so let me be of use!” you begged as you followed Tony into his lab. He groaned as he leant onto the table behind him, hands on his temples as he closed his eyes.
“Look, Y/N. It’s not that simple. You could get hurt and then who’s fault would that be? Huh? Mine.” He said as you glared at him. You crossed your arms as you spread out your long white wings.
“Tony. I’m pretty sure I can handle it. I’m not just a kid anymore. I’m literally an angel. I think I can handle a few humans.” You smirked as Tony dropped his shoulders, shaking his head at you as he smiled.
“Fine. You can go. But if you get hurt or if something happens, you’re benched, you hear me?” he said as you squealed, jumping in the air knocking over a few pieces of tech Tony just had laying around.
“Sorry! I’ll um, I’ll clean that up.” You chuckled nervously before giving Tony a hug, cleaning up the mess, and skipping out of the room. Tony watched you, chuckling at your actions as he began to work on the tech before hearing slow footsteps reaching the door. He turned around to you who was sporting a sheepish grin, “Hey, so I got too excited and forgot to ask. When are we leaving?”
A few hours later you found yourself on the quinjet surrounded by the entire team, you couldn’t help as you bounced your leg and tapped your fingers. Steve watched you amused before deciding to help with your nerves.
“It’ll be okay, Y/N. We are all going to be there for you, you don’t have to worry so much.” He said as you furrowed your eyebrows in confusion. Once you realized what he was saying, your eyes widened, and you chuckled.
“Thanks Cap, but I’m not nervous! Actually, far from it! This is like my first official mission and Tony is actually letting me on it! I thought once Peter came into the picture that I would be on more but apparently not. I’m just… I’m so excited.” You beamed as Steve laughed at you, he knew nothing about you should surprise him anymore. The first thing you’d done when he met you as break one of the ceiling lights while showing off your wings. You were only 15 at the time, joining the avengers after living on your own for almost your whole life. Now 3 years later, and several training sessions with some of the best fighters you’ve ever seen, you could official be like some of your idols. You’ve wanted to go out on missions since you beat practically every avenger they had. He was about to speak before Tony interrupted, telling everyone to get ready as they were almost at a HYDRA mission sight. You shared a smile with Steve before you finished suiting up, which didn’t take long considering you already were wearing most of your suit which consisted of a black tank top, purple leather jacket and black leather pants. You didn’t need to rely on a special made suit. You were special enough. Guns, knives, really anything that’s not specially made to harm you, won’t do you any harm. When the quinjet landed, the team filed out, with you following in the middle of the group, so they could ‘protect you’. Tony kept an eye on you stretched out your wings, almost hitting Clint as he smirked at you, you mouthed an apology before he nodded returning to scanning the area.
“Ok, here’s the plan. Tony, Natasha, Wanda and Clint you guys take the west side of the building, Y/N, Thor, Bucky, and I will take the East. Everyone on coms?” he asked as everyone tested their equipment. When everyone was ready you went your separate ways, Tony giving your shoulder a squeeze before nodding at you, giving you a be-safe-and-try-not-to-die look. You smiled at him before following behind Thor, scooting ahead as you pulled out a knife you had stashed in your pockets. Thor turned around and watched as you hyped yourself up, wings, outstretched but not all the way due to the smallness in the hallway. You looked up as you matched eyes with him.
“What? An angel’s gotta protect herself somehow. Even if it isn’t going to hurt her.” You said as you shrugged your shoulders, a playful look on your face as you entered a tall, open room filled with computers and stacks of papers. You jumped in front of one of the computers as you started searching through hydra’s database looking for anything that seems out of place, when something caught your eye.
“Hey Cap, I think you might want to see this.” You mumbled as Steve came up behind you. You stood up for the Captain to look at the screen. Bucky came over and you both read over Captain’s shoulder before you decided the info wasn’t something new. You looked around the base, picking up papers and anything to get some information. But once you heard a gun shot go of you turned around, immediately flying up into the air before seeing a few men crouched behind a few tables with guns aimed at your teammates. You flew down to cover Cap and Bucky as the bullets headed towards them, they bounced off your wings as walked towards the gunman. They stared in disbelief as they continued to shoot at you. When you were close enough, you easy knocked them out, guns dropping as you heard footsteps echo in the hallways surrounding the room. You picked up one of their guns and checked the number of rounds left before picking up another.
“Gotta go guys. More coming on our 3.” You say pointing to the hallway to your right. Bucky, Captain and Thor all follow you down the hallway as you took out several more men with guns along the way until you reached outside where the quinjet was landed. Tony’s team arriving at the same time as well as more armed men.
“Hey kid, how’d it go?” he asked while you rolled your eyes, flying in the air as you used the gun to take out several of the enemies. When the shooting calmed you relaxed for a minute before seeing a tank flying towards Natasha. She looked up with wide eyes as she tried to run out of the way.
“What the?” you yelled as you dove down and the caught the tank before it could hit her.
“Thanks, Y/N.” she said as she gave you a quick smile, coming over to check on you before patting you on the back.
“Where the hell did this even come from?” you asked as you looked towards the sky as you saw another tank coming. You groaned as you flew back up, catching the it and dropping it right next to Tony and Thor as your eyes widen at the fact you almost crushed them. Tony just looked at you like a parent scolding his child for spilling milk, but instead of spilling milk you dropped a tank. Thor just stared at you with wonder.
“Why hasn’t lady Y/N been on more missions? She’s been more help than the captain here.” Thor bellowed chuckling at the way you blow the hair out of your face. You couldn’t suppress the smile on your face as you lowered yourself to the ground.
“I heard that!” Captain yelled through his coms causing you to grin.
“Well, he’s not wrong Cap.” Tony mumbled, smirking as you made eye contact. “Alright, everyone on the jet. Let’s go!” Tony yelled causing everyone to make their way to the jet. You stay back a little to check for more shooters before running after everyone. You panted as you threw yourself next to Natasha, She wrapped an arm around your shoulder, giving you gentle squeeze before turning to talk to Steve.
“So, Tony, what do you think about allowing me on the next mission?” you asked as the entire jet got quiet, everyone turning to listen to the conversation taking place. Tony glanced around, catching everyone’s eyes before turning to your hopeful ones.
“Come on Tony. I think she proved she can handle herself. Hell, she even saved my ass.” Natasha said proudly as you smiled up at her. Thor agreed adding onto her statement by mentioning the fact that you might even be stronger than him. Your eyes widened as you stared at him in disbelief, unsure of whether he was joking. But the way he looked at you made you realize he wasn’t and you had to control the need to fangirl as you held your breath. Tony sighed as his eyes settled on you.
“Fine. Alright. You can go on more missions, kid. But you get hurt and you’re not going to on anymore missions until icicle here looks his real age.” He said as Steve groaned. You shot up, wrapping your arms around his neck, hugging him for the second time that day.
“Thank you! Thank you! THANK YOU! Oh my god! I’m gonna be an avenger!” you yelled as you did a little dance in your spot. The rest of the team had a few snickers but most of them proud of you.
“Well, you’re not an avenger yet.” Tony said as your smile dropped, and you turned to face him. You couldn’t help the frown that was on your face and Tony just closed his eyes to not see it before giving up. “Fine! Congrats kid, you’re an avenger now.”

An Avenger!Loki/Reader One Shot

“No,” Loki said, crossing his arms over his breast. 
“Please Loki,” you wheedled, batting your eyes at him.
“Absolutely not.”
“For me?” you tried, biting your lip and looking at him entreatingly.
“Stop that at once,” he commanded, taking an involuntary step towards you.
“Stop what?” you asked innocently. “I’m not doing anything.”
“You know exactly what you are doing. You are preying on my affection for you to try and get me participate in a pointless ritual with people I hold in disdain.”
“Is it working?” you asked, an impish grin slipping through your mask of innocence.
“Do you have any idea,” he asked in a growl, slipping an arm around your waist and drawing you against his hard, muscled chest, “what I would do with you tonight were I to stay here rather than waste my time with fools and drunkards?”
As his eyes bored a hole into your soul, you wavered a bit in your resolve to push him into this. The idea of spending the night lost in his embrace, letting him push you to the outer limits of your passions and then beyond, was so enticing that it was suddenly you struggling to resist his beguilement. When he started nibbling a path from your ear down the side of your neck while his hands roamed the contours of your body, you were more than ready to surrender to his plan.
“I suppose there will be other opportunities...”
“That’s my girl,” he grinned, moving to claim your lips.
“Did you convince him?” Thor demanded in his booming, jovial voice, bursting into your rooms without knocking.
Embarrassed at how easily you had succumbed to his temptation, you pulled away from Loki and smiled guiltily at Thor.
“Brother, go away. Now,” Loki snapped, looking at you with hot, hooded eyes.
“I will,” Thor smiled, ignoring Loki’s rudeness, “But I am taking you with me!”
“What?” Loki looked between the two of you. “Pet, have you been conspiring against me with my brother?” 
“For your own good, Loki!” Thor grinned, winking at you conspiratorially.
“Hrumph!” 
“Loki,” you sighed, stroking his arm while trying to keep from being pulled back into his embrace. “You are working with the team now. In order for this to work, you have to bond with them, at least a little. Going out for a drink after a successful mission is a part of this.”
“It is true, Brother,” Thor nodded sagely. “I gained much more respect for mortals after watching friend Stark drink. It was a truly impressive feat.”
“Please Loki,” you said seriously, looking him in the eye. “We want them to like you, to trust you. Spending some time socializing with you will help them see that you are not all bad.”
“Not all bad?” he echoed, raising and eyebrow.
“You did try to kill most of them,” Thor pointed out. 
“This truly matters to you?” Loki asked you with a sigh.
“It does,” you nodded.
“Very well,” he groaned. “I will do it. But you will owe me, darling. I plan on collecting every bit of that when I return.”
The way his eyes raked over you as he promised this set your blood pounding in your ears and your pupils widening with lust. He kissed you deeply, just to show you what you would be missing by sending him away you were sure, and allowed Thor to lead him out the door.

It was hours later when loud, painfully off key singing startled you from where you lounged on your sofa. Marking your place in the novel you had been reading to pass the time while you waited for Loki’s return, you scampered across the room and opened the door.
Coming down the hall towards your rooms were the Odinson brothers. Thor, clearly not entirely sober himself, was all but holding Loki up as your personal God sang lustily as he was dragged along by his older brother. 
“How did it go?” you asked, smiling at them.
“My woman!” Loki called out, halting his song. “Brother, is she not the most beautiful, sensual, desirable creature you have ever seen?”
You blushed as Loki eyed you lecherously, all but licking his lips.
“She is very lovely,” Thor said solemnly.
“How dare you!” Loki barked, pushing away from his brother to topple towards you, almost knocking you down as looped his arms around your neck. “Stay away from her! She is mine! My woman. Mine, mine, mine!”
“Of course, Brother, I would never seek to take her from you.”
“You could not,” Loki insisted, flopping onto the sofa and pulling down onto his lap. “She is completely devoted to me. Aren’t you, love?”
“Yes Loki,” you smiled at him, fondly. “So? Did you make friends? Did you bond with the team? Shall this become a regular event?”
“Actually,” Thor looked abashed, “I think it might be best if we put a pause on Loki drinking with the team.”
“Oh no,” you groaned. “Was he his usual standoffish self?”
“Not at all,” Thor quickly replied. “He was very engaged.”
“We are engaged!” Loki smiled, picking up your left hand and showing Thor the large emerald ring that decorated your finger. “Mine.”
“Then what happened?” you asked, as Loki began braiding a short section of you hair. 
“I was sociable!” Loki assured you. “Just like you asked.”
“He was,” Thor nodded. “He and Barton had a lively game of darts.”
“Did anyone lose an eye?” you queried.
“Not at all!” Loki beamed. “We both hit the bullseye every time! I still won, of course.”
“He cheated,” Thor said flatly. 
“You wound me!” Loki placed one hand over his heart.
“How?” you asked.
“Clint hit the bullseye, of course. But every dart he landed Loki split in two. With seidr guided arrows.” 
“Prove it,” Loki smirked.
“You had never played the game before,” Thor accused.
“I am amazingly skilled with my hands,” Loki bragged, puffing out his chest. “Just asked my fiancé.”
“Loki, not now,” you scolded, moving his hand from where it was sneaking up the leg of your sleep shorts.
“In any case,” Thor went on quickly, looking away from the scene the two of you were making, “Barton became so frustrated, knowing Loki was cheating but unable to prove it, that he shot an arrow into the dart board.”
“That doesn’t sound too bad,” you said hopefully.
“He used one of his exploding arrows.”
“BOOM!” Loki shouted, collapsing into giggles.
“Oh dear,” you worried, chewing on your lip. “Was that the worst of it?”
“Well...” Thor tugged at his collar. 
“Oh God.”
“Yes love?” Loki asked from where he had fallen backwards.
“You know how Stark is,” Thor said.
“Oh God,” you repeated.
“I’m right here!”
“He was singing the praises of a new scotch he had found. Very tasty drink, in its way...”
“For children,” Loki scoffed.
“So Loki offered him some Asgardian Wine.”
“From my own private collection,” your God put in. “He should have been honored.
“You also gave one to his spider child,” Thor said repressively.
“Loki!” You admonished him. “Peter is a child!”
“You’re all children,” Loki shrugged. “How am I to tell the difference in your ridiculous ages!”
“What did Tony do?”
“Drank both, of course,” Thor supplies the inevitable.
“He enjoyed it!” Loki insisted.
“Until he regurgitated in his armor!”
“Why was he in his armor?” You asked, looking from one to the other. “No, never mind, Tony is not my problem.”
“His conversation with Banner may have been the worst of it,” Thor mused.
“I don’t even want to know,” you groaned.
“I was graciously sharing my expertise!” Loki insisted.
“About?” You asked, dreading the answer.
“Women, love,” he grinned at you, taking your hand and biting your wrist. “What else?”
“He was giving him advice on how to court Natasha,” Thor sighed.
“Oh no,” you groaned.
“With Natasha right there.”
“Oh no.”
“I must admit, I have never heard ‘Hulk smash’ used in quite that context before.”
“Loki!” You took a deep breath as your mind reeled at the implications. “How is he still alive? I would have thought she would have killed him.”
“As if she could!” Loki was mortally offended.
“He stole her knives.”
“I’m stealthy,” Loki obviously was feeling proud of himself.
“At that point I decided it was probably best I get him out of there. For the sake of the furniture if nothing else. Tempers were getting a bit frayed.”
“Well, at least you escaped unscathed,” you sighed, giving Thor a weak smile.
“That’s what you think!” Loki grinned.
“What? What did you do to Thor?” You demanded, finally at your limit.
“Well, I did have those pretty daggers... it would have been a waste not to use them. And I wan’t ready to go yet.”
You stared at Thor in horror and he at last turned around and showed you the slice in his shirt and ths bloody bandage beneath.
“You stabbed you brother?!?”
“Just a little,” was Loki’s excuse. “And no where important.”
“Don’t worry,” Thor assured you. “I’ve had worse. From him in fact.”
“All quite deserves,” Loki insisted.
“Alright,” you shook your head, amused despite yourself. “Obviously you are not ready for socializing yet. Thor, thank you for trying, but I think you are right. Let’s stick to work only for the moment. At least until everyone calms down.”
“You are a wise woman,” Thor nodded owlishly. “And now, if you will excuse me, I will seek my bed.”
“Yes, leave,” Loki ordered him, pointing at the door.
“Loki!” Truly, you didn’t know why you even bothered. “Good night, Thor.”
Closing the door behind the blond god, you turned to find you beloved smiling at you, eyes dark and sly in his handsome face.
“And now, darling,” he purred, all hint of intoxication wipes from his voice, “I believe someone has a debt to repay.”
“You are not drunk!” You stated the obvious.
“On a few measly glasses of wine?” He scoffed. “Hardly.”
“You promised!”
“I said I would go,” he smirked. “I went.”
“They will never invite you again,” you said.
“One can only hope. After all love, think of all the better ways we have to spend our evenings.”
As he began kissing your shoulder as he said this, you found it hard to disagree. Well, you had tried your best. It wasn’t your fault Loki was impossible. He would have to bond with the team in his own way and time.
“Shall we retire pet?” He asked, already dragging you towards the bedroom.
“On one condition,” you giggled.
“And that is?” Loki raised one speaking eyebrow at you.
“You tell me just how you described ‘Hulk smash,’” you laughed.
“I will do you one better than that pet,” he said, tossing you easily over one of his broad shoulders. “I will show you!”
As you shrieked with fake indignation he carriesdyou into the bedroom. Maybe he was right. There were definite benefits to a quite, or even a very loud, night in.

Touch in the dark Ch 1.1 (Tony)
This is based off of a Stony mob story ‘The Way You Look’ which is fantastic and got me obsessed. Let me know what you think!

Summary: Steve Rogers and James Romanov are two of the six mob lords of New York City. Eight months ago, they saved Tony Stark from being beaten to death and put a gun in his hand to kill his father. He's been living in bliss ever since. Mostly.
Except for the fact that he's gay in a time that it's a death sentence, the man he loves was almost killed for loving him and the man he needs help from hates him because they love the same person.
Oh, and Fury swirls in with his cape to tell him drugs are flooding the city.

“To what do I owe the pleasure, mal’chik?”
James Romanov lounged easily in his leather chair, framed by stormy grey drapes that bordered the wide expanse of wintery New York sky visible through the window behind him. Planted behind his heavy mahogany desk and dressed elegantly in a bespoke suit in navy blue, he looked more like some English lord rather than the leader of the ruling mob of Brooklyn. But even if you were ignorant of the violent acts committed by the Russian Bratva, or brotherhood, the coldness in James Romanov’s blue-grey eyes was an obvious enough warning to those smart enough to see it. It also gave him the name that most people knew him by. Winter.
Antonio Edward Stark stood across from him, pushing down his unease as he met the mobster’s eyes squarely. “I was hoping to take you up on your offer, if it’s still available.” Tony made conscious effort to speak smoothly but respectfully, tamping down any hint of nerves in his voice or stature. He knew James wouldn’t hurt him (okay, more like 90% sure but that’s still good odds) out of respect for Steve, but his gut still churned with anxiety.
James merely waited, mild expression firmly in place. Tony knew that though he was his best friend’s lover, James still didn’t trust him. He didn’t begrudge the other man, it was only a few months that he’d come into their lives and being the leaders of two of the biggest mobs in the city didn’t exactly lend trust easily.
His voice sounding loud in the heavy silence, Tony elaborated. “I was rude to you in the hospital, the night that Steve…was emotional.” A more diplomatic way of alluding to the fact that Steve had gotten high off the morphine used to treat the pains from his wounds and broken down. He had been grieving, mourning the fact that Falsworth--one of his oldest friends from the army and a man who had saved his life just as much as he saved his--had turned against him because he learned that Steve loved men as well as women and tried to kill him for it. Steve hadn’t taken it well, said things in anger and ripped his stitches trying to leave his hospital bed.
Tony had told James that he would handle it, basically dismissed him from the room like a lackey. And Tony had stood by his word, ignoring the fact that he had in no way endeared himself to James Romanov, Steve’s oldest friend and past lover. But at the time, that hadn’t mattered--only Steve had mattered in that moment. But moments pass and times change and now he needed to undo the damage he had done.
“I’m sorry about the way I acted, especially after everything you’ve done,” Tony continued. “You’re the one who saved Steve’s life and was responsible for all of his care and I am eternally grateful for that--”
“I didn’t do any of that for you,” James interrupted, waving his hand dismissively. “And I don’t need you to remind me of my own actions. Stop wasting my time, why are you here?”
Tony hesitated. Things had changed between them all since Tony had started living with Steve. James hadn’t attended a family dinner since he had come back from Russia, and things between him and Steve were still tense. But James was the only one he could ask.
“Before I killed Howard,” he said softly, “you asked if I wanted to learn how to use a knife. If the offer’s still on the table, I’d like you to teach me.”
James tilted his head, looking at Tony more intently.
“What changed your mind? The last we spoke of it, you decided you didn’t like close quarter attacks.”
Tony nodded. “I still don’t. But you were right, if I truly want to support Steve I need to be involved, I need to know his life to know him. And his life--your lives--are violent ones. I need to be able to protect myself and not be a liability to him.”
“What a noble goal,” James murmured mockingly before his voice hardened. “But you need intention if I’m going to put a weapon in your hand and spend time training you. My time is too valuable for someone with half-baked conviction who’s going to just quit once things get too scary. This isn’t some quaint little hobby you can pick up and drop when it gets too hard. Nor is it like using a gun. Knives are bloodier and much more intimate; will you be able to handle that? The smell of the blood, the hot spill of it over your hands?”
Tony grew pale at the images James put in his head, flashing back to the times Howard’s hands had been stained with his own blood. Of the nights after killing him that stretched out into eternity, unable to sleep, unable to eat, unsure for who he was even grieving for. Howard, for taking his life? Peter, for stealing away the only father his brother had known? Himself?
But then he thought of Steve. Steve, who had to leave his hospital bed with a barely healed bullet wound in his chest, to weed out the bad seeds in his organization. Steve, who went into surgery for multiple stab wounds on top of his reopened gunshot wound, while Tony could only wait in the hospital corridor not knowing whether the man he loved was going to survive the night. Steve, who had to be on enforced bedrest for six weeks before he could come home, becoming angrier day by day as he worked through grief and anger and betrayal.
Tony had been helpless through it all, unable to anything but hold his lover in the aftermath and comfort him best he could.
Holding tight to thoughts of Steve, Tony felt his resolve harden. “I’m not going to stop until I’m good enough to kill you.”
A deadly silence fell over the room, time enough for Tony to fully absorb his own impetuous words and have a moment to regret his life choices. After years of Howard’s abuse, he didn’t usually feel comfortable to mouth off the way he just did but he got fired up when he thought about protecting Steve for once. Yep, that’s it. If he dies, he’s blaming Steve.
Stumbling out an apology, an explanation--kill someone as skilled as him that’s what he was trying to say--
He is shocked speechless when James bursts out laughing as if the threat was the funniest thing he’d ever heard instead of lunging over the desk and eviscerating him like the image his mind oh so helpfully provides. Thankfully, when James finally speaks the only thing bleeding is his sarcasm.
“I’m sure.”
Tony could only guess that not many dared to threaten the mob boss and the rarity of someone doing so made the situation hilarious. The fact that it was Tony, wiry and slim and with no deadly training whatsoever made for great comedy in the face of the infamy of the Bratva leader. James had been their boss for many years after seizing power and had extensive experience in brutally reinforcing his claim. Tony doubted he feared anything.
Therefore, Tony didn’t bother being insulted at how blithely unconcerned James was, just blessed his good luck. “Will you teach me?”
James raised one shoulder in an elegantly careless movement. “I’ll talk to Steve about it. You’re under his protection and while we have a long-lasting alliance, I don’t want him coming at me when you come home marked up with cuts and bruises. Besides,” he indicated Tony’s form, “he might get jealous that he’s won’t be the only one getting his hands on you anymore.”
Tony felt his face fill with heat, but he knew that James meant nothing by the comment. In fact, after walking in on James and Steve’s shared kiss months before, he was sure that rather than his body, the one who James would rather be holding was Steve. It was part of why things were still so awkward between them, and why Tony didn’t mind if James disliked him. He knew that if he was in love with Steve and Steve had chosen another, it would be difficult for him to try and like that other person. That was why he had no intention of hiding all this from Steve. These two didn’t need any more secrets between them, and neither did he and Steve.
Hopefully, it would only give James and Steve another thing to talk about. Though Tony did suspect that Steve might object to him coming home battered and bruised with the way his protective instincts flared up for any of his own. But if they were going to make this work, sooner or later they would get to this point and Tony saw no point in wasting time. Steve’s near death experience was a wake-up call, hammering in the unpredictability of their lives and the fact that their safety was hard fought commodity. Tony wasn’t going to take it for granted and he wanted to be able to protect those he loved when the next threat came. A mobster’s life was unlikely to ever be a truly safe one.
“Is there anything I can do in return?” Tony offered. He wasn’t sure what he could offer, before coming to live with Steve he only had $26 to his name. Now everything he had was either a gift from Steve or Aunt Sarah or something crafted by hand from Peter, so it was too precious to trade. But it felt wrong to take something for nothing.
Surprisingly, James’s face closed off, all signs of his laughter wiped away and eyes as chilling as they had been when Tony walked in. Tony was reminded all at once that while the man in front of him had saved his life and ensured his care, he was not his friend.
“You have nothing I want.”
Tony took it for the dismissal it was and left.

Living With Guilt
Peter had stopped fighting. In all honesty, he had forgotten why he was fighting in the first place a long time ago. That was when the torture stopped. The conditioning. He felt numb when they tested his fighting abilities. He easily incapacitated anyone who attacked him and the people who were training him were pleased. Saying something like he was ready for what they needed him to do after just a week. Whatever. As long as they fed him after he did whatever they asked.
He was dressed in an all black outfit and he was equipped with knives and a gun (things that felt somehow wrong in the back of his mind but he quickly squashed that thought), and he was sent on his way. His mission?
Kill Tony Stark.
Another persistent thought wiggled in the back of his mind that this was wrong but he ignored it and made his way to the Avengers tower once he entered the city. He stuck to the shadows so he didn't attract any unnecessary attention and when he arrived at the building, he stood in direct view of the nearest camera as he was told to do. Apparently Stark himself would come if he saw him.
He did. Tony and some other man had run out of the building but a red-haired female had stopped them halfway. He was supposed to kill Tony, and if anyone got in his way, they would just be collateral damage.
"Peter...?"
Peter? Was that his name? He wasn't sure and didn't really care. He didn't know these people. He just wanted to complete his mission so he could go home, eat, and get some sleep. So he lunged. Tony had spun out of the way as his suit formed over his body, and Peter's kick was intercepted by the woman. His attention was directed to her for a while, and while she was good, he could tell she was holding back. That was her mistake, and he had no problem using it against her. She gave him the slightest opening and that was all be needed to knock her out and send her flying across the road.
Tony had tried to swoop in behind him and take him by surprise but Peter had sensed that coming and simply grabbed the man out of the air before slamming him into the concrete underneath him. A pained gasp reaches the teen's ears and he pulls out one of his knives to plunge through the armor but he looks to the side when his armed hand is stopped. A whip from the looks of it. Crackling with magical energy.
He looks up to the new assailant and finds the second man in a suit similar to Tony's regarding him warily.
"Peter. Stop this."
The teen responds by grabbing the whip with his free hand and yanking it forward, causing the man to stumble, and it dispels once he gets close enough. Peter lashes out at him with his knife but he blocks it with a magical shield and the teen soon finds himself being lead away from his primary target. Fine. He would deal with him later. This man fought like the woman though, but not only did he hold back, he defended himself. Like he was trying to tire the teen out.
"I don't want to hurt you!"
"That's your problem."
Despair fills blue eyes as he continues to dodge and block every one of Peter's attacks, but when he finally slips up, the teen slams him into a nearby building. The brickwork crumbling around the sorcerer from the force, and to add insult to injury, Peter plunges his knife through the suit and into the man's abdomen. A cry of pain follows as he pulls the knife back out and Peter turns to find his initial target as the man falls, when the sorcerer's next word had the boy freezing.
"Cub."
It was as if someone threw ice water on him and it found its way into his veins. That one word. He knew that word. It always came with comfort...but why did it make him so sad? Peter shakes his head and mentally starts squashing down the unexpected feelings.
Finish the mission. Finish the--
Somehow, the sorcerer had gotten to his feet and managed to catch him by surprise because he was suddenly pulled into a hug. His face was forcibly buried into the man's collarbone, but before he could even think of struggling...he smelt it. Tea leaves and incense. The smell of safety, of love, of home. It brought memories to the surface, and he slowly began to realize what had happened. His abduction, the torture, the conditioning, and worst of all...
...what he had just done.
Peter stills in the embrace and watches in horror as Stephen finally loses his fight against blood loss and slumps against him. Bile rises in his throat as blue eyes close and the owner falls to the ground, but he didn't get the chance to do much else because someone knocked him out from behind.

When Peter woke, he was in his bed. Just when he thought that maybe it was all a terrible dream, he looked down at himself and found that he was still dressed in his Hydra outfit. It was enough to send him running into the bathroom and puking. Not only had he attacked his family, he had slammed his father hard enough into the ground to form a dent, and he stabbed his pseudo-mother. The reminder had him sobbing as he stripped himself of the black clothing as fast as possible, and then unconsciously scratching at his body. That was how Bucky found him, and the soldier was quick to kneel down and grab his wrists to keep him from hurting himself anymore.
"Nonono. I hurt them!" The teen sobs out. "I killed my mom! I deserve--"
"Come here Bambi." Bucky sits down and pulls the teen into a tight embrace. "Mama Bear is okay. He just finished healing himself about twenty minutes ago." The next sob that came from Peter was pure relief. "He's worried about you."
The teen makes a strangled noise that Bucky knew all too well. Peter didn't feel worthy of being worried about. Especially by someone he had hurt...almost killed.
"I shouldn't be here. What if I go back to...that?" Peter whispers.
"We already took care of that. After Nat knocked you out, another Hydra agent tried to finish what you started but she was able to stop him and find out what your triggers were. You've got nothing to worry about."
They sit there as Peter's tears slow and then eventually stop while Bucky gently rubs his back. When the teen seemed calm enough, the soldier had asked if he wanted to see his parents and Peter instantly refused. Not because he didn't want to see him, no...it was self punishment. Tony and Stephen would forgive him without hesitation but Peter would not forgive himself.
Because of that, the vigilante had locked himself in his room, and even though it pained his parents, they gave him space. Only because Rhodey and Bucky were allowed in to give him food. Natasha was shunned as well because she was also one he had hurt, and although she didn't show it, it hurt her a little as well.
Stephen lost patience on the fourth day. His cub was stewing in guilt about something he had no control over and it was breaking his heart. So he threw caution to the wind and portaled directly into the teen's room, causing Peter to jump out of his desk chair and back himself into a corner, and that action only hurt Stephen more. More than the stab wound he had received (that he now had a permanent reminder of but he wouldn't let Peter see that as long as possible), because Peter didn't trust himself. And according to Bucky, he didn't feel like he deserved forgiveness.
"Come here." Stephen says calmly.
"...no."
"Then I'll come to you."
The sorcerer had expected Peter to use the walls to escape, so he had been prepared and successfully pulled him down before he could actually get anywhere. The whimper he gets for that, cracks his already bleeding heart, but he ignores it to embrace the teen and hold him the same way he had when he managed to get to the Peter hidden behind the conditioning. One simple word was all it took to break the haze he had seen in his son's eyes. The moment he was able to stretch when he hugged him and Peter caught a whiff of the tea he drank and the incense he burned. Two scents that were forever soaked into his skin and recognized as home.
"If you really meant to hurt me, I would have never gotten you back like this. Hydra attacked us. Not Peter." It was all the teen needed to hear to finally return the embrace and fist his hands in the back of Stephen's shirt.
Peter trembled. "I-I'm sorry Mom. I'm so sorry!"
"I know cub...it's okay."
What Stephen didn't expect was Peter clinging to him afterwards. The rest of the day consisted of endless snuggling since Peter wouldn't let him do much of anything else, and having to endure hearing countless whispered apologies. Each one he never failed to accept and soothe that everything was fine now. The scar unfortunately was found an hour into the snuggling, and Peter had blamed himself all over again. It only stopped when the boy fell asleep and he was carried into the master bedroom by Tony when he and Stephen both agreed that it was necessary. A simple show that he was forgiven, and that he was home safe. It had helped the following morning, but it took at least a month for the guilty look in Peter's eyes to fade away and a few more for the nightmares to make themselves scarce.
Normalcy was a luxury.
A price Tony would pay tenfold to see their kid smile again.

summery:  Tony would die to keep Peter safe. Peter has a problem with that, and FRIDAY takes sides.
Tony shifted in the hospital bed, wincing as the sheets grazed somewhere on his chest that ached and, oh, looks at that! Giant bullet wound, cool. To be honest, he wasn’t even all that surprised about it, he had gone into the base with no suit or means to call for backup knowing they were armed to the teeth, to be completely fair, he had only half expected to wake up at all. He turned his head and almost jumped out of the bed (Not that he could, because oh hey, look at that, his legs broken.) because on the ceiling in the corner of the room, Peter was asleep, clearly having been huddled in the corner for quite a while if his wrinkled clothing was any indication. He coughed wincing when he felt his ribs ached in protest immediately. He startled when he heard a thud from the side of the room, and laughed when Peter’s disgruntled head popped up from the corner.
“Mr. ‘Ark?” Peter mumbled, rubbing his eye with his shirt sleeve, causing him to laugh and then wince. “Mr. Stark! You’re awake!” The teen exclaimed, jumping up to hug his, pulling back at the last second to spare his ribs.
“Hey, Pete.” He rasped, patting the teens back.
“I’m glad you’re not dead,” Peter said, slightly shakily.
“Yeah, me too.”
That had been two weeks ago, Tony later found out that he had been out for a week before he woke up, and according to Natasha, who had been keeping tabs on Peter for him, claimed he hadn’t left the corner since Tony had been brought in except to use the bathroom. They had barely been able to convince him to eat apparently, and even then, he had remained upside down. He glanced curiously at the teen, who had since returned to ground level, and was now laying across the couch doing what looked like math homework.
“Mr. Stark, can you check my work?” Peter asked, thrusting his notebook under the mechanic’s nose between his eyes and his phone. Snickering he looked it over.
“X=1/Ga2+2abG+ab2-1. Looks right to me.”
“Thank you, Mr. Stark!” Peter said, bouncing up, probably to the kitchen.
“Hey Peter, why was it you stayed upside down that whole week?” Tony asked before he could stop himself. The superhero froze, turning back to him.
“I um, I was worried.” Peter supplied.
“I got that bit Peter, what does that have to do with you staying on the ceiling,” Tony questioned.
“Well, I gotta go, places to swing, homework to do. Bye, Mr. Stark!” Peter yelled, before quite literally throwing himself out the window. On the 57th floor.
“Peter Parker get back here! Peter!” Tony called fruitlessly at the window. “FRIDAY, will you make sure Peter gets back before dinner, I need some time to lecture him.”
“Certainly, boss.” The AI replied smoothly. “Would you like to monitor his vitals while he is away?”
“No thanks Fri, but keep me up to date on those, and will you please deactivate the blocking code he put in last month?” He asked exasperatedly.
“Sir, I am afraid you do not have the authority to deactivate the coding placed by Peter Benjamin Parker,” FRIDAY answered, and Tony could have sworn she sounded amused.
“What do you mean I don’t have the authority? I created you?” He asked indignantly.
“The percent of coding done by Peter Parker surpassed 11%, meaning that it activated the ‘I am so dead’ protocol, installed last January,” FRIDAY informed.
“Let me guess, installed by Peter Parker?” He asked.
“That is correct sir. Would you like me to contact him in regards to your newfound knowledge?” The AI asked.
“No, that’s okay.” He muttered reluctantly. He was sure he would find out his answer sooner or later, there was no point in making the kid sweat in the meantime.
“Will that be all?” FRIDAY asked, and Tony swore she sounded exasperated this time. He would have to look at the coding to see if this was part of what the teen had coded.
“Yes, thanks Fri.”

Tony must have dozed off because he woke to the sound of glass breaking and a quiet curse. A few moments later he heard FRIDAY ding in recognition that Peter had entered the building. He had programmed a different noise for every resident, so he could discern who it was that had done what.
“Peter?” He called, his voice still slightly groggy. He shook his head, trying to clear it.
“Hey, Mr. Stark.” He heard from the other room. “I’m just gonna go… do homework now… bye.” Tony heard the kid sprint up the stairs faster than he should have been able to. The kid’s speed never ceases to amaze and annoy him. “FRIDAY, is Peter really doing homework?” He asked his AI suspiciously.
“Peter Parker has informed me to tell you that he is ‘doing schooly things’ and to not come upstairs.”
“Okay, but what is he actually doing?”
“My programming forbids me from telling you. I can only inform you that he is not in immediate danger of dying.” The AI said smugly.
“Gaaaah! Fine, guess I’ll go check on him like a normal person,” he muttered grumpily. He was going to need to change his passwords to, well, basically everything. He had no idea how he had found them out though, it was a sequence of random letters and numbers that were over 17 characters long. He muttered to himself as he walked up the stairs. His leg had healed surprisingly quickly, and the bones were already fused together, though still delicate, and his ribs were close to normal. Or he was just so used to broken ribs that the pain didn’t bother him too much.
“Peter?” He asked, knocking on the teen’s door. “FRIDAY is revolting against me and won’t tell me what you’re up to. Mind if I come in?” Peter made a non-committed noise, which he took as permission and swung the door open. He found Peter sitting cross-legged on his bed, stitching a gash on his arm.
“What happened!” He exclaimed, rushing over to investigate the injury.
“Nothing. Just a mugger who got a lucky swing in.” Peter said, avoiding his eyes.
“You can’t lie to save your life kid, what really happened. There’s no way one mugger could do this.” Tony retaliated.
“I never said it was one mugger, I said A mugger.”
“Okay, so how many muggers where there?” He asked the stubborn teen, who muttered something at his bedspread.
“What did you say?”
“I said there were 6… ish…”
“Ish? What does that even mean Pete?” He asked, giving the arm back to the teen to finish stitching. He knew that there was no way Peter would actually follow him into the med bay, and he couldn't afford to let him get injured again.
“ I dunno, they were moving pretty fast. Anyway, one of them had throwing knives and he threw like, one gillion at me at once, and I apparently can’t dodge all of them at the same time, so…” He tailed off, gesturing to his arm, which he had finished stitching and was now tied up.
“Peter, do you have any idea how dangerous that is? And I couldn’t even check on you because of your stupid extra codding you added to FRIDAY. You could have died and there would have been no way for me to know or help you.” He said angrily. He could feel the frustration bubbling inside of him. He had given FRIDAY the codding he had for a reason.
“Well, maybe I don’t want you to come after me.” Peter retorted he seemed more and more upset as their conversation went on.
“It doesn't matter what you want Pete, I am doing what I need to do to keep you alive,” Tony said.
“So am I! You almost died 14 days ago Mr. Stark, and you aren't enhanced at all! Your bones are barley fused together! You ain't even supposed to be walking, let alone deciding I need rescuing every time I get a scratch.”
“This,” Tony gestured to Peter’s arm, now wrapped in gauze, “Is not a scratch. It’s a huge gash that would have caused a normal person to bleed out!”
“A normal person like you?” Peter responded, venom in his voice.
“You don’t know that I wouldn’t have sent a suit.” He replied, feeling more than a little childish.
“Yes! Yes, I do, because for some reason, when it comes to me you are always doing stupid things!” Peter’s voice raised, shaking slightly.
“Oh, I’m the one doing stupid things now? Because last time I checked you were the one who-”
“It doesn't matter!” Peter cut him off. “Because I literally can’t die from injuries! At least not anything a normal person would die from. I can hold things that would crush your suit in a second flat! I’ve been spiderman-ing before I had your suit and technology and I am fine!”
“Just because they haven't killed you doesn't mean they haven't come close.” Tony retorted.
“Well if they came close to killing me then I don’t want you anywhere near them,” Peter replied.
“Do you even hear yourself right now? You are a child Peter!”
“I’m a mutant! I can take care of myself! You clearly can’t!”
“Why do you even give a shit Peter? I’m not your father!” Tony yelled back. They both froze. “Peter…” He started reaching out, only to have Peter jerk away from his hand. The teenager grabbed a bag on top of his dresser and made his way to the window. “Peter!” he called again, trying to get his attention.
“Goodbye, Antony,” Peter said, venom in his voice, before jumping out the window, straight onto the sidewalk below. He looked blankly at the window for a few moments, before hearing a cough in the doorway. He whipped around to see Pepper standing there, a glare firmly on her face.
“You have a meeting in 15 minutes. Floor 39.” Was all she said, pivoting on her high heel.
“Wait, Pep, you don't understand, he-” He started, walking towards the blond. The moment he crossed through Peter’s doorway, however, FRIDAY cut him off.
“Antony Edward Stark, Billionaire, Playboy, Genieos, Philanthropist, a former father figure to Peter Parker, had left bedroom #3701.” the AI said in a cold voice.
“What…?” He slowly retraced his steps, walking back through the doorway.
“Antony Edward Stark, Billionaire, Playboy, Genieos, Philanthropist, a former father figure to Peter Parker, engineer, has entered the bedroom #3701.” The AI said.
“Tony, stop playing and hurry up.” Pepper’s cold voice said from down the hallway.
“Yeah, coming. FRIDAY, stop that.” He said.
“Right away, Antony Edward Stark, Billionaire, Playboy, Genieos, Phalanthripist, a former father figure to Peter Parker, engineer, caffeine addict.” The AI responded.
“I hate you.” He said, walking through the doorway again.
“Antony Edward Stark, Billionaire, Playboy, Genieos, Philanthropist, a former father figure to Peter Parker, engineer, caffeine addict, betrayer, had exited room # 3701.” He sighed, dropping his head. This was going to be a long day.

By the time Tony made it to the meeting, he was seriously contemplating having all doorways removed. He hadn’t really understood exactly how many there were in the house until now.
“Antony Edward Stark, Billionaire, Playboy, Genieos, Philanthropist, a former father figure to Peter Parker, engineer, caffeine addict, betrayer, poorly groomed, undignified scoundrel, former mathlete, and butthead, has entered the meeting room #63,” FRIDAY informed the businessmen and women as he walked into the room.
“Butthead? Really Fri?” He asked the ceiling. Technically he could ask the cameras, but he couldn’t remember for the life of him where he had placed them, which was a bit of a problem.
“Excuse me, Mr. Stark, are you ready to start now?” One of the business women asked, looking like she was trying to not smile.
“Yeah, yeah, let’s just get started.” He said, resigned to the meeting from hell. Thankfully, five, and a half freaking hours later, with two more to go, Pepper rescued him.
“Tony, I need to talk to you.” She said, materializing in the doorway.
“Thank goodness,” He said, jumping up.
“Antony Edward Stark, Billionaire, Playboy, Genieos, Philanthropist, a former father figure to Peter Parker, engineer, caffeine addict, betrayer, butthead, ignorant bastard, has exited meeting room #63.”
“Thank you FRIDAY, so much for that,” Tony said sarcastically.
“Tony, have you heard anything from Peter?” She asked urgently.
“Not since you dragged me here, why?” He asked confused.
“Because nobody can get in touch with him, it’s been hours, past one actually, we’ve tried tracking his suit and everything, but not even Shuri can find him, and she put a tracker under his skin.”
“What? When?” he asked.
“Not nearly the most important part of anything I just told you, Tony. He could be hurt somewhere.” Pepper said, her voice tight.
“Okay, I'll get the team on it Pep.” He soothed.
“You had better.” She said, threateningly.

“Hey, Steve?” Natasha called from the living room, “Have you heard from Peter?”
“No. Why, he did something stupid?” He replied, popping his head in.
“Maybe, I just got a text from him.” She held up her phone to show him, her voice tight with worry.
“ um, ‘Sorry, I had a fight with Tony, nobody’s dead (Yet) hope I can see you soon, Love Peter’ What does that mean?” He asked, his brow furrowed.
“I dunno, but it gives me a bad feeling. Look, it’s not from his phone, it’s from a burner. I tried tracking in already, a dead end. He either threw it into the ocean or made us think he did.”
“What could he and Tony possibly have fought about that would make him take off like this? I don’t know if I have ever seen them fight, not really anyway.”
Natasha thought for a moment, biting her lip, before calling to the ceiling. “Hey Fri, can you show us what they were fighting about?” She asked. Surprisingly, the scream across from her light up with footage from Peter’s bedroom. “Is she allowed to do that?” Steve asked.
“I am not currently taking orders from Antony Edward Stark, Billionaire, Playboy, Genieos, Philanthropist, a former father figure to Peter Parker, engineer, caffeine addict, betrayer, butthead, ignorant bastard, and jerk, right now.” The AI informed. The pair watched the fight play out on the screen in silence, shocked by the anger in both parties voiced. Peter flying out the window with a duffle bag was the last thing they saw before the image cut out.
“Shit, FRIDAY, can you tell me anything about Peter’s location?” Natasha asked the ceiling.
“He has asked I do not disclose that information to anyone,” FRIDAY informed.
“Please FRIDAY, I won’t tell Tony, but that kid shouldn’t be alone right now.” The AI was quiet for a moment, seeming to think about it, before replying.
“I can not tell you his location, but I believe that both Michell Johns and Ned Leeds may be able to help you, would you like me to contact them?”
“Yes!” Steve replied enthusiastically. The TV showed a call symbol for a minute before a female voice answered.
“Who the hell is calling me at One AM?” She asked.
“Hello ma’am, are you a friend of Peter’s?” Steve asked.
“Shit, what did he do?” She asked, sounding more awake.
“He ran away. We were hoping you could help us find him.” Natasha supplied. The line was silent for a moment.
“Meet me at Juniper Park. I need to see your faces before I help you. I’ll be there in 30 minutes. Don’t be late.” With that the line went dead, leaving the two in silence.
“I think we might need back up,” Steve said quietly.
“I’ll gather the team.” She said with a smirk, turning on her heel. Exactly 35 minutes later, Thor, Steve, Bucky, Clint, Natasha, and Bruce were gathered in front of the locked gate to Juniper Park, waiting patiently.
“Are you sure this isn’t some kind of prank?” Bucky asked.
“She didn’t sound like she was messing around,” Steve replied.
“You’re waiting outside the park? Lame.” A voice called from behind them. They whipped around to see a girl who looked at Peter’s age, wearing a black NASA hoodie and dark jeans.
“How’d you get in there?” Clint asked, looking slightly off-put. In response, the girl slipped through the bars of the gate.
“Really, it is more of a visual barrier. So, what do you need me to do?” She asked, stepping under the street light.
“We need to find Peter. He and Tony had a fight, and he isn’t at Neds. he’s been gone for almost 9 hours now.” Bruce informed his voice somewhere between worried and just straight up groggy.
“They had a fight… do you have FRIDAY’s footage?” she asked.
“I- Um… yeah… How’d you know about that?” Steve asked, handing over the laptop.
“I have my ways,” she replied. “I’m assuming no Spiderman sightings ether then?”
“What would that have to do with it?” Clint asked frantically, at the same time Bucky said: “How do you know about that?”
Steve smacked him on his arm while MJ raised an eyebrow. “He’s not exactly discreet, the whole school has a group chat about it, sanes him, Ned and Flash, of course.”
“Hm,” Bruce said. MJ turned her attention to the tablet that had been handed to her, watching the footage intensely. It ended, and after a moment, she looked up at them.
“I know where he is.”
“Really? From that? How could that be, mid-guardian?” Thor asked, his voice, while still loud, was quieter than normal. He really wasn’t much of a night person, and Natasha was surprised he had actually stayed awake this long. “He’s got a couple of go-to places for different things, I just needed to know which had happened.” She said.
“You mean he does this a lot?” Bruce questioned.
“Mhm,” MJ replied, handing back the tablet.
“Well, what other reasons does he run away?” Steve asked, his brow furrowed.
“Death, Flash, if he’s sick- which was unfortunate that time with pneumonia, different kinds of fights with different people, etc.” The teen said, whipping around and walking down the road. After a moment she turned back. “Are you guys coming or what?” She asked. They hurried to catch up to her.
“So, why are you the one who finds him?” Natasha asked, falling in stride beside MJ.
“Well, it’s either me or Ned, and he’s not exactly the most tactful,” She elaborated. “Or agile.”
“Why agile?” She asked, her brow raised.
“You’ll see.” She replied mysteriously. “So Peter’s been living with you for a while?”
“At the compound with all of us, yes he has, why do you ask?” The assassin asked.
“Just checking. We’re here.” The teen said, pausing. Natasha looked around with the rest of them. They were standing on a somewhat deserted backstreet somewhere in Queens, with a tall wall to their right and a street there left.
“Where is ‘here’?” Steve asked. Instead of responding
“Yeah, I don’t see Spider-kid anywhere,” Clint added. MJ just shot them a look, before setting down her backpack on the ground and grabbing a grove in the wall.
“Stay here. I’ll be right back.” With that, she kicked off the ground, and using her old on the rock wall, launched herself over.
“What is it with Peter and his freaky strong friends?” Bucky asked, staring at where the teen used to be.
“So, we’re following her, right?” Clint asked, looking up at the wall.
“Obviously. Bucky and Clint, you’re with me, you guys stay here.” Natasha said, dropping her purse.
“Why do they get to go?” Steve asked, sounding like a whiny kid. “Aren’t I the captain here?”
“I’m sorry, are you a trained assassin?” She asked, scaling the wall before he could reply. She jumped to the other side and felt her heart sink.
“Of course,” Clint whispered next to her. In front of them was a sign that read ‘Maple Grove Cemetery’.
“Well, I found them,” Bucky said, pointing to a building across the land, where they could see the two figures silhouetted on top of the roof.
“We should go back,” Clint said, shifting from one foot to the other. Natasha nodded in agreement and was back over the wall not a second later.
“Well?” Steve asked expectantly.
“There in a graveyard.” She said.
“A graveyard? The one his parents are buried in?” Bruce asked, confused.
“Presumably.” She replied.
“And his aunt and uncle,” Clint said, pulling them up on a tablet. Online it showed four traditional headstones, all in varying states of wear, along with four others, presumably his grandparents.
“Jeez, life hasn’t been kind to the Parkers, has it?” Bruce said, looking sadly at the headstones online.
“Peter call’s it ‘Parker Luck’” Natasha said sadly. They stood in silence for a minute before all of their phones dinged simultaneously. Steve pulled his phone out and stared at the text for a second.
“MJ says that Peter’s staying at her house tonight, and she’ll contact us tomorrow.” He read.
“Should we go back?” Bucky asked.
“Probably, it’s almost three,” Bruce said, looking at his watch.
“You guy go ahead,” Natasha said, looking over her shoulder at the mossy wall that MJ had disappeared from.
“You sure?” Steve asked. “It’s pretty late.”
“I think I can handle myself, Rodgers, I’ll see you tomorrow.” Reluctantly, the team said a ‘Goodnight’ before turning down the road. She inspected the wall as she heard the footsteps fade. The place that MJ had used to jump was worn down, and a much lighter color. She wondered daily if other’s used the shortcut as well. She hoped they did because even without doing the math, the number of visits it would take for one person to wear down that wall was depressingly large. Shaking her head, she jumped over, landing almost silently on the other side. She picked her way through the graves slowly, reading each headstone she came across, until finding herself faced with the Parker section. Slowly, she lowered herself to the ground in front of them, wincing as the cold from the ground seeped through her jeans.
“We’re gonna protect him for you.” She promised, before leaving to join her team.

Tony woke up feeling guilty before he had any memories of what he had done. He rolled over, and winced, remembering the fight from yesterday. He had spent most of the night trying to disable the coding that the teenager had put, preventing his face from being detected on cameras. He could at least tell he hadn’t been in his suit, it hadn’t recorded any activity sense the mugging that had started the fight in the first place. Groning, he pulled himself out of the bed and stumbled out the door, intending to check to see if Peter had made it back yet. Logically he knew that the kid wouldn’t get himself killed in one night, and he was probably just at Ned’s, but the rest of him remembered the time he had followed him to Indonesia my sticking himself to the bottom of the plane for hours.
“Antony Edward Stark, Billionaire, Playboy, Genieas, Philanthropist, a former father figure to Peter Parker, engineer, caffeine addict, betrayer, butthead, ignorant bastard, jerk, self-absorbed shriveled walnut, himbo, eater of aerosol cheese, a fan of AC/DC, vulture pray, sole reason for the creation of the middle finger, cotton-headed Ninny Muggins, a mostly raisin raisin oatmeal cookie, creator of rhubarb, had exited his bedroom,” FRIDAY announced.
“Who is telling these to you?” He shouted at the roof.
“Sense my creation, I have had a document in which I keep the most creative insults aimed at you or that apply to you. Would you like to know the length of the document?” She asked, and Tony swore if she had a face, she would be smirking.
“No, I think I can guess.”
“It is currently 1,36-”
“I said I’m fine.” He said, angrily. “Has Peter come back yet?”
“Peter Parker hasn’t re-entered the building, however, a Michell Jones has asked me to inform you that he is still alive, and will be returning to the tower at some point before the end of the year .” The AI said. “Wow, super helpful.” In response, FRIDAY activated the fire sprinkler above his head.
“Was that, bleh, really necessary?” He asked, wincing when the water got in his mouth.
“Yes.” The robotic voice replied. He was about to respond with a very clever retort when his phone rang. He pulled it out, so he could decline, except FRIDAY had different ideas. “Call answered.” She said, his phone responded.
“Ugh, hello?” He asked, not exceptionally worried about who it was.
“Is Tony Stark speaking?” A female voice asked, her tone clipped.
“Yep, who is this?”
“Hello, I am calling to inform you that, subject to you apologizing, Peter Parker is willing to return to his room.”
“Yes! Yes, can you ask him to call me? Please? My AI won’t let me call him.” he asked, his demeanor changing. He was fully aware of how pathetic he sounded, admitting that he couldn’t get his own AI to respect him, but he honestly couldn’t care less.
“Fine, I can tell him, but I can’t promise anything.” with that the call ended, and he, having retrieved his coffee, turned to re-enter his bedroom.
“Antony Edward Stark, Billionaire, Playboy, Genieas, Philanthropist, a former father figure to Peter Parker, engineer, caffeine addict, betrayer, butthead, ignorant bastard, jerk, self-absorbed shriveled walnut, himbo, eater of aerosol cheese, a fan of AC/DC, vulture pray, sole reason for the creation of the middle finger, cotton-headed Ninny Muggins, a mostly raisin raisin oatmeal cookie, creator of rhubarb vegetable steamer, chihuahua with hormone deficiency, oddly lumpy blobfish, had entered his bedroom,” FRIDAY called.
“Yeah, yeah, I got it.” He said, resigned, staring at his phone. Several minutes later, he heard it ring, and he briefly saw Peter’s name flash across the screen, before answering. “Hello?” He asked urgently.
“Hey, Mr. Stark…” Peter’s voice cracked through the speaker, reminding him that, oh wait, Peter’s phone was apparently intended to be at the bottom of the ocean. “Peter, hey, um… are you okay?” He asked hesitantly, unsure of how to continue.
“Yeah, um, my arm’s healed and everything so, that's good.”
“Good, good, I’m glad.” He took a deep breath, steeling himself for what would follow. “Listen, Peter, I’m really sorry about, well, everything. I was outta line with what I said, I should have been more patient with you instead of escalating everything, I'm sorry.” The line was silent for several moments, making him wonder if the kid has somehow hung up without him knowing. He was about to pull the phone away to check when he heard Peter take a breath. “I forgive you. I-Is it okay if I come back? MJ made me share a room with her little brother and I woke up covered in Crayola paint.” The teen asked.
“Of course it’s okay for you to come back. I didn’t want you to leave in the first place. Do you want me to come to pick you up?” He asked.
“No, traffic will be terrible, I’ll just swing over,” Peter replied.
“Okay kid, stay safe.” He said.
“HA!” Peter replied through the phone, before hanging up. Tony smiled before setting his phone down. Not 10 minutes later, Peter, dressed in his suit, knocked on the window. Tony let him in quickly, smiling at his slightly uncoordinated movements.
“Hi Mr. Stark,” Peter said, pulling off his mast. Tony had to use remarkable self-restraint to keep from laughing at his hair, which still had a slight blue tint to it, and was sticking up all over the place.’ “Hey, kid.” He said, ruffling his hair, making it stick up even more.
“I’m really sorry.” He said, looking upset.
“Don’t apologize, Pete, you’re a teen, you get to say that kinda shit.” He said. “Come on, I think we need pancakes.” He declared. “Go get changed and meet me at the elevator.”
“Okay,” Peter said, walking out towards his room. Tony followed him out.
“Antony Edward Stark, Billionaire, Playboy, Genieas, Philanthropist, a former father figure to Peter Parker, engineer, caffeine addict, betrayer, butthead, ignorant bastard, jerk, self-absorbed shriveled walnut, himbo, eater of aerosol cheese, a fan of AC/DC, vulture pray, sole reason for the creation of the middle finger, cotton-headed Ninny Muggins, a mostly raisin raisin oatmeal cookie, creator of rhubarb vegetable steamer, chihuahua with hormone deficiency, oddly lumpy blobfish, snot rag, Physical embodiment of a migraine, personification of plain oatmeal, puppy hater, armature seamstress, avid field frolic-er, tea spiller, had exited his bedroom.” Tony groaned.
“Wait, Peter, do you know how to make her stop?” Tony asked the teen, who had burst out laughing.
“Okay Fri, I think you taught him a lesson by now.” Peter said to the ceiling, “You can stop now.”
“Of course, Peter. Happy to oblige.” The AI said happily.
“TRAITOR!” He called at the ceiling, which resulted in him getting doused again.
“Yeah, yeah.” He said, walking back to his room to towel off. Still, he had trouble keeping a grin off his face. A couple of moments later, he was inside the elevator, whizzing down. Due to the number of floors, he had sped the elevators up considerably. Also, he was impatient.
“Hey kid,” He asked, “Why were you sleeping on the ceiling when I was out?” He asked.
“Oh, yeah, that. Umm, well, when Bed was shot, they took him to the hospital, and he was in a coma and stuff, and I was sleeping in a chair there, and his heart stopped, and I couldn’t stop getting in the doctor’s way. Anyway, I was worried that would happen to you, so I stayed on the ceiling.” Peter explained, keeping his gaze firmly down.
“Of course, of course, that was the reason,” Tony said, wrapping an arm around the kid. He swore he was getting more grey hair every time he opened his mouth.

Part two:
The group behind you talked amongst themselves seeming enjoying their stay when a voice cut through the rest.
“Hey (Y/N), you never did tell us why you left.” Reid pointed out.
You turned around from where you were stood at the counter making them dinner and smiled lightly at him before turning back around.
“I just wanted to me time.” You shrugged.
The others seemed to accept this answer, you weren’t really lying but you weren’t telling the full truth anyways. As you dished them up dinner, you rolled your slightly sore shoulder and grabbed a bottle from the fridge.
“Are you not joining?” Rossi asked.
“No, sorry Rossi. I promised Clint and Nat I’d be the ref for their sparring match.”
“Shoudn’t you two be resting after getting hit with knives?” Emily rose a brow.
“Yeah probably.” You shrugged, “see ya around, Tony’s gonna be up soon if you need anything.”
With that you walked out, stopping to quickly talk with Bruce before making your way down the hall, unaware of a certain boss man watching you.
For the whole night you succeeded in avoiding them, but when the next day came around luck wasn’t in your side. You walked straight into Hotch as you walked into the kitchen.
“Morning.” He offered you coffee.
“Morning...” you grumbled taking the cup.
Sitting at the table you glanced at your phone, 7 am... great.
“Sir J what is on the schedule today?”
“Nothing, though peter would like your help after he is done school.”
That caught your attention, ignoring Hotch as he sat down you pulled out another phone and begun to flick through it.
“What’s he need help with?”
“He wishes to practice his combat and wants you to help him.”
“Alright, tell him I’ll pick him up. I’ll train him in the abandoned wearhouse.”
You carried on drinking your coffee, knowing full well that you were being watched. You couldn’t meet Hotch’s gaze and you didn’t bother starting a conversation either.
“Is he your kid?”
“Who, Peter? No, but we’re pretty close. Anyway I have to go, cya.”
As you stood up a hand shot out and grabbed your wrist. Hotch wore a pleading expression. He wasn’t holding you in place, if you wanted you could slip out of his grasp.
“Wait, can we talk?”
“Fine. Five minutes.”
He nodded, he wasn’t going to argue if that’s all he got then he’d be happy with that.
“I’m sorry (Y/N), I really am. It wasn’t right of me to suspend you like I did, you were only doing your job.”
“So why did you?” You pressed.
He sighed and glanced away, removing his hand from your wrist as he picked up his cup. He could see he was shaking slightly which made you even more curious. Aaron Hotchner did not shake.
“Because I was worried, sometimes you can be reckless (Y/N). I just don’t want to see you hurt.”
“Hotch I grew up with Tony Stark, I lived with the avengers and worked with them. Reckless is in my blood, you know this. I know that’s not the only reason you suspended me.”
“If you got hurt I... wouldn’t be able to live with myself. I love you and I want you to be safe.” He confessed.
Your eyes shot open as Hotch confessed his feelings for you. Sure, you think he’s handsome, but you also though Clint was handsome. As Hotch took your hand in his, he gave you a soft look.
“I understand if you don’t return my feelings. Just think about coming back at least? Please? We have another week here.”
“I.. I’ll think about it... I’ve got to go.”
With that you jumped out of your chair and practically ran out of the room. Your heart was beating wildly and thoughts flew around your head, did you love him? What about Clint? Was he lying? What do you do?
Just as you ran around another corner you crashed into someone making you stumble back. Looking at who it was your breath caught.
“Hey (Y/N).” Clint smiled, “Can we talk?”
