"I will find you."
With a promising squeeze of her hand, he had repeated the words "I will" before pushing her further into the escape pod, and fading away into his usual green glow.
That was the last time (Y/N) had seen him, or even heard from him. That was on the Statesman. When the ship with Asgardian refugees was under attack, (Y/N) had wanted to stay back and fight, for she was the commander of the army under Loki's rule. But her king - the only one she had truly been loyal to - had ordered her to mind the safety of the people escaping to Earth.
"We Odinsons will handle it here," he had said with his usual confident smirk.
But, for the first time in her life, she could not trust her king. Her fear - or maybe it was her instincts - had told her otherwise.
Several months prior, when Loki used to sit unchallenged on the throne of Asgard, he had described to her, in confidence, the ruthlessness of Thanos's ambitions, the extent to which this Titan could go in order to fulfil his dreams. And he was not the least ashamed to confide in her that he was scared of him; that even the thought of that monster scraped chills down his spine.
Despite all these, Loki had gone off to fight him. To save his people. To save his brother. All (Y/N) could do was beg the Norns for his safe return.
But apparently, the Norns did not hear her pleas. Thor had returned but without his brother, without the love of (Y/N)'s life. Without her betrothed.
New Asgard was built and, even though it took a lot of emotional effort and time, the survivors had gradually started calling it home.
But not (Y/N). Her home had a heartbeat. It had a warm embrace and caresses of soothing lips. Her home had magic radiating from his fingers.
And it was all gone. She had no home now.
"Lady (Y/N)?"
A familiar deep voice pulled her out of her reverie. She looked up to find Thor's smiling face awaiting her. The once cheerful and flamboyant god's condition was no better than hers. The man who had once been the heartthrob of every lady in the city now hardly cared about his shabby looks or his health.
(Y/N) was seated on one of the many rocks on the shore where the sea often came by to cast a soothing hand. The crashing sound of the waves helped her to cut the noises in her head and drift off to a place where she and Loki were together… or could have been together.
Seeing Thor, she rose from her place and walked towards him, careful not to slip off the uneven surface.
"Prince Thor- Pardon me. My king!" She had only ever addressed one person as her one true king, and it was difficult for her to assign that title to someone else so soon.
"Please, lady (Y/N)," the new king replied, "you do not need to address me as your king. I am no king here. Besides, you and I have a stronger relationship than that. You are my sister. My brother's betrothed."
"Nonetheless, you are still-"
“(Y/N),” he interrupted her, “I’m not here to debate on some formalities. We are long past that … I hope we are. I … It hurts me and everyone else to see you fading away like this. I simply wanted to ask you to take care of yourself. It has been over three years now. He is not-” The words stuck in his throat like a sharp blade. “He’s not coming back,” Thor resumed in a softer, shaky tone. “You must move on. It-”
“Have you been able to move on?”
Her question took him by surprise.
“It is different for me,” he tried to justify himself.
“It is nothing different, Thor. You think you deserve a tragic life ahead because you were their king and his brother. Well, I was the one charged with protecting you all, in charge of protecting him. I failed.”
The last word came out in almost a sob.
“I knew he would end up doing something stupid,” she tried to hide her tears behind trembling hands, “and he did exactly that. Every time I thought I had lost him, he returned. I waited this time, too. And waited. Why did he not return, Thor? Why?”
The older Odinson could no longer hold his emotions back. As tears started staining his face, too, he took a few steps towards her until he wrapped her in his protective, brotherly embrace. She was the only family he was left with, and it broke him even more to see her break a little more every day.
“Be strong, sister,” he tried to console her, “our people need us,” and kissed the crown of her head.
When the grief subsided a little, they both walked back to the village, with tattered hopes that someday - maybe someday - things would get better, even if just a little.
Later that night, something unexpected happened. A man from the village came running to (Y/N)’s doorstep to inform her of a news that was going viral on the internet. Although stunned initially, she refused to believe him, waving it off as some Midgardian’s silly joke to gain attention. But when he showed her the videos that apparently many people across the northern borders of the country had posted, the hair at the back of her neck stood up.
Afraid that she might faint, she gripped the door frame tightly.
“Does the king know of it?” She asked the man who had once been a foot soldier under her command.
“Not yet. I thought you should be the first to know it.”
“Thank you, Axel! Thank you!!”
She rushed past the soldier and did not stop until she was able to bang her fist on Thor’s door.
When a tipsy Thor finally opened the door, he panicked upon seeing her breathless state and wild eyes. Like a burnt man who feared fire, his first assumption was that they were under attack again.
“Have you heard the news?” She panted.
“What news? What-What happened? Why are you-”
“People have observed a sudden spike, a sudden burst in the northern lights!”
Thor, who could make no sense of it, stared dumbfounded at her.
Steadying her thoughts, she tried to elaborate. “It looked like the lights suddenly rushed upwards with a strong force, as if they were being pulled by something powerful in the atmosphere. Or,” she paused, “more like someone was radiating a sudden burst of energy through the lights.”
She remained quiet for a while, allowing the other person to process her words.
“Do you not get it, Thor?”
She showed him the videos on Axel’s phone which she had grabbed on her way.
Finally, with eyes as wild as hers, Thor tried to form a coherent sentence, but failed. “Are you trying to imply that…”
“No matter how much they credit the Sun and the magnetic fields on this planet, we of all people know who created those magical lights,” a grin was cracking its way through her lips.
“If this true-”
“This is true!” She cut Thor off.
“Where?”
“All along the northern border of Norway. But they were the most powerful in Tromsø. The reports say that it lasted for about 4-5 minutes before the lights resumed their normal state.”
“We must leave. Now!”
“It would take almost 24 hours from here. I-I cannot believe… I…”
She seemed frantic. After all these years of waiting, of almost giving up hope, were her prayers finally heard? Burdened with a myriad of emotions, her knees gave way and she dropped to the floor, sobbing.
“(Y/N)!” Thor tried to help her up. “We must make haste. Let’s go.”
—----
The ride was long. But the years that it took for them to see even a tattered veil of hope was even longer. Loki was back. Probably. But indeed if he was back, why did he not try to communicate with (Y/N)? Was he alright? Where had he been all this time?
A cyclone of thoughts and questions had taken control of (Y/N)’s mind. The Norwegian countryside swept past her, but her vision was clouded by the hope and ecstasy of finding the man she loved once again, and by the doubts and fears that her mind conjured. As the cold night air nipped at her face, she was taken back to one of those beautiful nights in Asgard where the only fear that sometimes poked her was that of Loki’s disguise being discovered by someone. But with the sorcerer’s abilities, those anxieties eventually waned. Every single time.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“(Y/N), wake up!”
A voice was calling her from a distance. A soft whisper. She could not locate the source of it but she knew that deep, soothing sound. Loki’s voice.
“(Y/N)!”
There it was again. But… It was too dark. Someone caressed the side of her head. She could not see who it was until…
“Loki!” (Y/N) opened her eyes to see her king hovering over her with a hand on her head.
“Forgive me, love, I never wished to pull you out of your sleep. You looked so ethereal! But this is important.”
“How did you get in here?”
Her question was met with a smirk and with a pair of eyes that almost spelled out the words for her: “You really did not ask that.”
“Oh!” She realised once the last traces of sleep evaporated.
“Now that you have realised, get up, darling. I have arranged a picnic!” Loki said excitedly.
“A picnic?” She was dumbfounded. “In the middle of the night?”
A slender finger rested on her lips. “Shh! Do you trust me or not?”
“With my life, yes, but I cannot say the same about your madness,” she suppressed the urge to chuckle.
Rolling his eyes, he ignored her comment. “Come now, get dressed,” Loki placed a folded fabric beside her pillow.
(Y/N) had eventually learned that it was hard to argue with the God of endless-surprises-up-his-sleeve. So, without pestering him with further questions, she took the gift and unfolded it, only to be mesmerised by what she saw.
It was dipped in the colours of the night: a dark shade of blue that could only be found on moonless nights, when the sky is anything but jewelled with solely the lights of distant stars. The lower half of the dress - the part that would probably extend beyond the knees - gradually descended into cascading folds of tulle, sprinkled with tiny stones that shone like faraway planets and stars. The back was designed in a deep V-shape that would travel to the small of her back while the length of the said tulle was longer on the backside than on the front, leaving the fabric looking as though the night sky had flowed down on it and would be proudly flowing behind her as she would walk.
“I love this, Loki, I do! But … this is a bit too much, is it not?” She announced with a small frown.
The king, who had made himself comfortable on a cosy chair, dismissed her statement. “You refuse to wear something lavish in front of your people, I do not protest that. But, the future queen of Asgard can certainly do her king a favour in private, can she not?”
How could she ever say no to his charms!
“And how are you supposed to declare me as the queen when people always see Odin sitting on the throne? Hmm? Do not ruin something that took years for you to build, Loki. I am your queen. Whether people know it or not, I do not care.”
“Love, I know you have a penchant for drama and overthinking but,” he crossed a leg over another, “I have a plan. I always do! So, cast your worries aside, and please, bless me with a view of you in that gown!”
“Are you simply going to sit there and stare or would you show some decency and turn around?” (Y/N) gently got off the bed and took the dress in hand.
“Darling, this is not the first time I would see you as you are, unhidden by some bland piece of fabric, that does nothing to compliment your beauty. Is it?”
“Are you suggesting that what I wear is hideous?” She narrowed her eyes threateningly.
“Of course not! But they are nothing compared to what lies beneath those. Are they?” His eyes travelled across her body as though he could already see what he was praising.
Shaking her head, but not without a soft laugh escaping her, she sauntered towards the bathroom.
“That I do not know, my love. But I am afraid that I must disappoint you this time.”
Before Loki could make another smart remark or could stop her, she closed the door. But what Loki did not did not know was the way he had already flustered her, how she had leaned against the closed door and laughed into the dress in her hand.
The only downside of being with the trickster was maintaining secrecy. To his subjects, he was Odin. The younger prince had supposedly died a valiant death while saving his brother. So, (Y/N) and Loki no longer got a chance to stroll through the woods, as they once loved to do, or to sit silently in the garden as the sun bid goodbye to the lands.
Loki teleported them both to the picnic spot, which turned out to be a small clearance in the hills. (Y/N) observed that the sky reflected the outfit that the king had chosen for his beloved.
“It is gorgeous…my king!” She gently squeezed his arm. “But a bit chilly, do you not think?”
Standing behind her, he purred in her ear, “I am here to keep you warm, my queen,” and gently grazed the skin on her shoulder up to her neck with his lips.
“If this was your plan, then we could have stayed in the comforts of my chamber,” she whispered through ragged breathing.
“But there is a different kind of magic beneath the open sky. Would you not agree?”
She broke away from his arms and turned to face him, “Have you brought me here, in the middle of a cold night, robbing me of my sleep, only to chit-chat and to try to seduce me into losing this dress?”
Loki’s eyes shone with mischief. “The last part, yes. But not before I show you something. And not before this.”
He extended his right arm and with an elegant wave of his fingers, a large rug emerged on the ground, with baskets of her favourite fruits and snacks, jugs and goblets of wine, accentuated with lamps and streaks of flowers.
“Shall we?” He offered her a hand.
“I love you!!” She did not take the hand but wrapped herself around him, gifting him with one of those emotional but passionate kisses that reminded them of the bond that they shared, and left them both thirsty for more.
Loki was not fooling around when he had said that he was there to keep her warm. The air had indeed changed from being cold to pleasantly cool. Sitting there on the cosy rug, she kept stealing glances at the man who had made her life so beautiful that, for the first time in years of her service as a soldier, she feared death. Life was beautiful ever since he had walked into it. It was one of those heart-warming yet adventurous stories that have people believing in the magic of love and of life. And there was no version of this story that involved anything or anyone other than Loki.
“Loki?”
The trickster was lying on his back, with his arms folded behind his head. (Y/N) found him staring at the sky with a hint of a smile toying on his thin lips. It was clear that he had sailed far away in his thoughts and into some warm island where his world was blessed with Spring.
“Hmm?” His eyebrows arched as he looked at the source of the voice that tugged him out of his rumination.
“Would you promise me something?” She asked softly.
“Anything, darling! Anything that does not involve the disappointment that you had thrown on me by shutting the doors of your bathroom on my face,” he answered with a sly grin.
Hitting his chest lightly, she resumed, “Please promise me that you would never stray away from me again. Under no circumstances. For I would not be able to live without you. I shall survive, yes. But my life would be as good as death.”
“What- Why are you saying these things, (Y/N)?” Loki sat up.
“You are always up to some mischief,” she explained. “Either that or you run off to some heroic act. You have no idea how I shatter every time you fake your…” The word was like a poison that she could not bring to her lips.
“I know, love, I know,” Loki wrapped an arm around her and brought her head down to rest on his shoulder. “Believe me, it hurts me just as well to even think of the misery that I had brought on you.”
“Whatever you do, Loki, promise to come back to me. Always. From even the farthest corner of the universe. Promise me.”
“I shall always come back to you, darling. Where else would I go? You are my home. I shall always find you.”
He sealed his promise with a loving kiss on her lips. Wiping fresh tears off her cheeks with his thumbs, his mouth conveyed all the feelings, all the unsaid things that even the Silvertongue did not know how to frame into words.
When they pulled away, Loki took her hand in his. “Remember I had said that I wish to show you something?”
She nodded with a smile.
“It is time!”
The confidence and the mystery radiating from him excited her. It was this thing about Loki that made her fall in love with him over and over again. He was a wise ruler who made sure that his people were safe and happy, an emotional lover who understood every depth of his partner, and a child who always had a spark for something new in his life.
“Lie down with me?” He asked softly.
“Is this another one of your tricks to-”
“No!” His protest made her break out into a hearty laugh. “No. I do think of things other than making love to you.”
“I was teasing you, you oaf!” She kissed his cheek amidst laughs. “Alright then,” she did as requested. “What is it that you wish to show me?”
Loki copied her action. As she gazed at the contour of his face, he raised his hands and gracefully moved his long fingers as if they were doing a dance of their own.
“I know I look ravishing but you will miss it all if you keep staring at me, my love,” his eyes were strained on the sky above as he spoke with a smirk. “Look above you.”
With a playful huff, she turned her head towards the zenith. And was she spellbound!
Above them, dancing in synchronisation with Loki’s fingers, were several folds of green glow - the kind that Loki’s magic produced but softer.
“Are those-?” She squeaked excitedly.
“Yes. Midgardians love them!” He stole a glance at her. “They once thought that it was the Bifrost. Now they say that it is their sun that is responsible for these. Fools!”
“They do not know the magic that is you,” (Y/N) whispered.
“Mother taught me how to create these. These were,” he sighed, “my first big gift to her as a student.”
She could not decide which was more mesmerising: the ballet of lights in the sky or their reflection on her trickster’s face that emanated a mix of happiness, pride and nostalgia.
“Why do you not adorn the sky here with these lights?” She turned sideways to face him, still captivated more by him than the lights.
“Father never liked them here,” the joy left his features. “Said these were a stain on the perfect Asgardian sky.”
“Well, we both know he was wrong,” she smiled, hoping that Loki would do the same but he simply shrugged.
“Do you have to keep working at them?” She asked.
“No, just for a little while,” he explained. “These cannot be seen by anyone else. Else they will know that I am here. They are only for our eyes.” The mischievous smile returned to his face.
“Good. When you are done, I want your fingers to work their magic on me. And on this dress,” she added in a gravelly voice.
“Who is seducing whom now?”
“I do not care!” She lay back to watch the captivating glow above. Her chest swelled with pride for Loki. He was undoubtedly the best sorcerer she had ever known about, and yet so underestimated. The ignorance of her people made her laugh inside.
“Neither do I,” Loki broke her chain of thoughts when he hovered over her and kissed her breath away.
Fingers that had once made those lights above dance, now danced nimbly on her skin as it deftly freed it of the gown. His own robes were, however, not so gracefully shed, for (Y/N) now lacked the patience which she once had when they had arrived at the woods. Loki’s mouth left a hot trail behind wherever it went while cool fingers soothed the path.
Indeed the open sky had a charm of its own. Walled from the rest of the world by a strong spell, beneath the dancing lights, they drowned in each other as the green lights above danced on their skins.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“(Y/N), wake up!”
A hand gently shook her by the shoulder.
“We are here,” Thor stated.
Blinking, she looked outside the van. The green lights were gliding across the sky in harmony, casting their reflections on the duo.
Loki!
A voice inside her breathed the name.
“Let us spread out. We will ask the locals if they had seen anything or anyone unfamiliar yesterday when the spike occurred,” she instructed Thor as they stepped out of the vehicle.
The search was futile. Every person they asked knew only about the spike and nothing else. Not one soul could mention anything about any person who might have looked suspicious or out of the ordinary. Nothing.
“There is nothing to be found here, sister,” Thor mumbled. The poor man had finally found one thin streak of hope, and even that turned out to be false.
But the other person was adamant. “No. No, it cannot be… It cannot be a deadend. There has to be something. We must keep looking.”
“(Y/N), listen to me. If Loki was indeed here, wouldn’t he have come to us?”
But (Y/N) wasn’t listening to any logic. There had to be some mistake, she was sure of that. Something was certainly wrong. Her intuitions had never been wrong. And this time, they were stronger than ever.
Or was it just the illusion of a broken heart?
Rubbing her hands over her face, she was about to protest when a man called them.
“Hey, are you with that team of scientists who came yesterday?”
The sudden interference startled them.
“No, we’re-”
“No,” (Y/N) cut off Thor’s blunt confession, “we are not with them. But we are looking for some kind of pointer that would help us locate the cause of yesterday’s event.”
He eyed them suspiciously. “You don’t have any fancy equipment on you? The other guys looked like they came out of a sci-fi movie!”
“Sounds like S.H.I.E.L.D to me,” Thor whispered in (Y/N)’s ear.
“Well, I am afraid our team isn’t that rich yet,” (Y/N) quipped. “We’re on our own here for now. For basic research purposes.”
From the looks of the man, he sounded convinced this time. “Yeah, you may try the lake. I'd said the same thing to the other guys.”
“The lake?”
“Yeah. God knows what they have hidden in the waters. Should take you about,” he shrugged, “ten minutes from here.”
“Why the lake?” Thor enquired.
“You haven’t heard?” The man shifted amused glances between them. “That was where the real show was! I was nearby. That place … it still gives me the chills to think of the way those lights suddenly seemed to burst upwards! Thought it was the last day of my life!”
“Did you see anyone there? When it happened?” (Y/N) put a pin on his enthusiasm.
“No! Just me and my dog. We were returning from-”
“Thank you!” She pulled out a fifty Krone bill from her purse and handed it to the man. “Thank you so much! This is all we can offer.”
But the man held his hands up. “I don’t need your money! Thanks, anyway. And I must say, for a bunch of poor guys, you certainly are generous. They didn’t produce even a penny yesterday.”
She smiled. “I want you to keep it. Please. You do not know how much you have helped us.”
Reluctantly, the man took the note from her. “For science,” he said cheerfully.
“For science,” she nodded, and rushed back to the van with Thor by her side.
“If S.H.I.E.L.D is already there, then we won’t get a chance to set foot on the place,” Thor voiced his fears.
“I do not know what I will do,” she ran a nervous hand through her hair, messing it up even more. “I truly do not know! I just hope … We will find a way, Thor. We have come this far. We shall certainly find a way.”
Her energy lifted his spirits but at the same time, he was scared that her hopes might be burnt to ashes in case this was but just a cosmic event.
All the way, she kept placing different theories out before them.
“Maybe Loki was there. He can be invisible if he wants to. Maybe that is why that man did not see him… Maybe Loki was not here earlier. Maybe he was lost somewhere. And yesterday night he landed here, and something - I do not know - caused him to bring a change into those lights? … Perhaps he himself had an energy boost… But… why?”
“(Y/N),” Thor placed a hand on her knee, “calm down. Please. We are almost there.”
The place was indeed marked with S.H.I.E.L.D’s tape all over it. It looked like another one of their camps. It was, in fact, just another one.
“I’ll go talk to them,” Thor assured her. “They know me. Well, someone here should know me. You stay right here, okay?”
With a smile and an encouraging pat on her back, he dissolved into the crowd. The truth was that Thor’s own heart threatened to beat out of his chest. Regardless of how huge the god was, at that moment, he felt like he would crumble under the weight of the anxiety that had been building inside him ever since he had heard the news the day before.
(Y/N) stood at the edge of the camp, looking around, trying to find perhaps the tiniest of clues that would lead her to the god she came looking for. And yet, nothing that could whisper even a shred of a tale about Loki caught her eyes or ears. With a sigh, she wandered off towards the lake.
Under the dark veil of the night, the water looked gorgeous. Silent, calm, and yet with the promise of a storm beneath the surface, and an even deeper sense of mystery shrouded within. That and the reflections of the rippling lights on it reminded her of Loki.
Is he not as enchanting as this? No. Much more than this.
The thought made her smile. Her dry lips stung slightly as they spread after a long, long time.
Something about the lake called out to her. Gingerly, she took small steps until she found herself standing on the bank of the waterbody. The auroras were swaying above, casting graceful shadows on her. She should have been anxious and yet she felt a sense of calm that she had believed to be lost forever. It was as if she had finally landed on a piece of earth where she was meant to be.
He is here!
Her entire being seemed to be screaming out to her. The feeling had never been stronger. She looked around with wild eyes.
Loki is here! I can feel him!!
Finding herself on the edge of insanity, she filled her lungs to call out his name. But stopped.
There were a lot of other people around whose attention she should not be drawing. Taking a deep breath, she sat down on the wet grass and closed her eyes. At last she knew what she had to do.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“Here,” Loki placed a hand over her heart, “we are connected here. Nothing can break this bond.”
In response, (Y/N) placed a hand over his. “And what about all those times when you go away, intentionally or not? How am I supposed to find you?”
“Darling,” he chuckled, “I think the summer heat and my close proximity have got you a little confused. Is it you who finds me or is it me who finds you?”
“It is not funny, Loki!” She removed his hand with a frown.
He loved to tease her relentlessly, the strong commander-in-charge of the Asgardian army who chose to become no less vulnerable than a child before the god of lies and mischief. Every moment spent with her breathed life into him, but there were times like these that he cherished the most.
“Come here,” his voice had dropped a few octaves but in a warm way. His hands ran down her arms until he found her fingers and placed them on his temples.
“Feel that?” he asked softly.
“Your heartbeat,” she nodded.
Gently, the trickster placed his own fingers on her temples.
“Now, do you feel that?”
A soft tickling gradually wrapped the skin on and around her temples. It felt like someone was tracing feathers upon her skin but from the inside.
“What-”
“We shall always feel each other,” he explained, “no matter where we are or how far we are.”
Her eyes widened at the revelation. She never knew such a thing was even possible!
“Are you telling the truth?”
He sighed. “Darling, do I look like I am in the mood for some mischief? We can hear each other’s thoughts now-”
“But-”
“Only,” he interrupted her, long fingers requesting her to pause and listen to him, “if we want us to.”
“Alright,” she shrugged with a satisfied smile, “I like that part.”
“Love, you forget that I can hear your thoughts any time I wish to! I choose not to.”
“Oh, I know that!” She dismissed it with a wave of her hand. “So, you are telling me … that now we can amuse each other even across a ballroom filled with uninteresting people?”
“Even across the palace, darling! Across the realms!” He wrapped an arm around her waist and pulled her flush against him.
“Well, in that case,” she whispered in a sultry manner, “I shall bid you goodnight.”
Loki looked at her with a question mark slapped over his face.
“Let us speak in our thoughts, from our separate rooms, across floors!”
With a twirl, she freed herself from Loki’s arms and ran towards the door with a squeak, her lover following behind with the most mischievous grin on his ecstatic face.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“Loki!” It was a whisper, even in her thoughts. “Loki, I know you are here. I was not sure before but now I do. I can feel you, more than ever!”
Her prayers got stronger with each sentence she uttered in her mind.
“Loki, I know you can hear me. We promised that no matter where we are in this universe, we will remain connected. Do you remember that? I know you can hear me. So, please, listen to me, Loki. … Maybe it is because somewhere deep down I felt you … because I still feel you … that I never left hope of seeing you again. Not even when the entire world screamed that you are … gone. I still feel you, Loki. And I know that I shall see you again. That you will find me. Like you promised. Like you have always promised. … You have always found me, Loki. Every single time. Please come back to me. Once more. Please, Loki! Find me once again. … Loki!!”
A sudden shiver ran up her spine; something had disturbed her. Something like a gust stirred behind her. Her senses told it was not just the wind but someone. And instinctively, a fear burnt inside her momentarily only to be doused quickly by an even stronger hope. When one has lost everything that they love, little room remains for fear. It is a fanatical hope for the impossible that remains behind.
And this time, her hope was not misplaced.
“You found me.”
The deep voice floated through the cold air and into her soul.
With a loud gasp, she opened her eyes to find Loki standing right beside her: head held high, the wind blowing messy locks onto his face, his armour - the very one that she had seen on him three years ago - tainted with scratches, his green cape tattered in several places, and yet, he radiated the aura of the king that he once was!
She did not remember how she was able to stand up on those legs that threatened to give way any moment. She did not remember when her hands went up to hold his face, gently yet firmly. All she remembered was the pure joy of feeling complete.
Loki did not utter another word. As her trembling fingers trailed his skin, she realised that his eyes were sunken, his face thinner than usual. Her hands trailed down his armour, still unable to believe that Loki was indeed standing before her, that it was not some cruel joke of the distraught mind.
He was indeed there.
Her thumb drew soothing circles over his cheekbone. “How have you been?” Her lips quivered as a drop of tear trickled down her face.
Loki’s eyes mapped her features. “I am alive.”
“I have…” (Y/N) could never finish that line for she finally broke into a sob that had been threatening to overpower her from the moment she saw him.
With arms wrapped around him, she wept like she had never done in these three years. All this time she had hope, even though a silver of it, of his return. So, no matter how sad she had been, she had never wept for long. Only the ones without any hope mourn their loved ones, and she was not one of them.
But now, when she had finally found him, all the emotions struck her at once. She had a home now. Again.
Amidst the gush of feelings, she failed to notice how Loki did not engulf her in his arms, as he should have done. Or how he did not bury his face in her shoulder, as he loved to.
“I still cannot believe my prayers were heard!” A shaky laugh left her.
Unwrapping herself from him, she gazed at him longingly again.
“You are actually here!” A pair of trembling hands tried to hold back the sobs flowing from her lips but failed. “I always knew! I…”
(Y/N) took a deep breath and wiped her eyes.
“Okay. I believe you need rest. Let’s go home.”
“Do I still have one?” Loki finally spoke. But there was a despondency in his words.
“What?” It took her by surprise. “Of course, you have a home. Why-why do you ask this?” A hint of a smile unsuccessfully tried to support her words.
“How should I know? I had been away for too long.”
Everything seemed to be ending up in knots for her. Shaking the doubts off her mind, she took his hand.
"Oh! I see. I know it is nothing like Asgard; not even close. But…we call it New Asgard. And it is all we have. This is our home now. And…my home has always been you, anyway." She looked up hopefully at him. "And now that you are back, I have found my home again!"
Loki did not respond.
“You must be exhausted," she said. "You need to rest and eat properly. And then we shall talk. Okay?” She gave him an assuring smile. “I shall go and inform Thor.”
The moment her hand left his, a scoff escaped him, followed by an icy, “Of course!”
(Y/N) stopped in her tracks and turned around towards him.
“What?”
"Of course, you would have to inform Thor."
(Y/N) noticed that the name had a bitter ring to it, just like it once had several years ago.
He continued, "He is the king now. Obviously he would need to know every single thing that happens in his kingdom. And you, of all people, would certainly be the most loyal to him. Dear big brother always gets what he wants!"
Nothing made sense to her. Absolutely nothing! Every syllable uttered by Loki sounded alien to her. There was no way she could fathom the disdain that he held for his brother - the very brother for whom he had not thought twice before putting his own life at stake! And… was that a hint of distrust that she heard? For her?
“I-I do not understand you, Loki,” she stepped closer to him, the business with the elder Odinson thrown out of her distressed mind. “Why- What happened? Was it something I said? Did Thor do something that I do not know of?”
“It was a mistake coming here. A big mistake… I should have never listened to you. It is all a lie! You, in your sole existence, are a lie!!”
The words struck her hard. But before her emotions could even react, (Y/N) noticed the beginning of a faint green glow around the god.
“Loki, WAIT!!” She screamed loud enough for the entire camp to hear. But it worked; the glow was gone, and with it was the immediate fear of losing Loki again.
“Just wait!!” With a shaky voice she pleaded with the love of her life as she gripped his hands tightly, “What is wrong with you? I… Would you please explain! What have I done to deserve such hatred from you when all I have ever been capable of, regardless of all circumstances, is to love you with all my heart and soul?!”
“You demand an explanation after what you have done? Claiming to love me only to give my place away to someone else?”
“What?” Her voice was barely above a whisper. The hands that held on to him desperately slowly slipped away.
“I do not care,” he cried, “about what anyone thinks of me or does to me. And I understand very well that I was not around for quite a long time. I could not be even if I wanted to with all my might! But…you could have at least told me the truth. If you really felt me, as you claim to, you could have at least told me! Why do you pretend to love me now when you have already given yourself up to your new king??”
“Loki!! Do not accuse me of things that I am too ashamed to even speak of!” She clenched her fists around his arms. “Are you out of your mind? Do you even hear what you are saying?”
“Oh, do not deny it now!”
Before she even realised what was happening, she felt a sharp sting on her palm as it connected flat across Loki’s face. However unpleasant it may have been, perhaps it was what was needed to shatter Loki’s rage and allow his pain to flow out - a sentiment that he had mastered at hiding behind a mask of anger.
"I saw you… yesterday…" Loki's voice started shaking. "I came back. To you! Only to find you in my brother's arms!"
His knees gave way, and the god dropped to the ground, kneeling before her, weeping like a child.
Loki’s words washed over her like those giant waves that crash over a lost soul and pull them in, only to drown them again when they try to fight back. (Y/N) tried to replay all the incidents from the day before but with everything going on, it all became a haze in her mind.
The sight of a broken Loki before her did nothing to help her. Immediately, she mimicked his position, and held his face in her hands.
"Loki, whatever you saw, whatever you are thinking is a misunderstanding. I swear! I do not know what you are talking about, not now at least, but we will figure it out. Okay? I assure you, Loki, there is only one person I have given my heart to. And it is you. What I feel for you, is beyond anything that I feel for anyone! Believe me! Please!"
All this time, Loki refused to look into her eyes. He was scared that if he did, he would not be able to refuse her.
"I want to," he finally breathed a shaky whisper.
Gently holding onto her wrist, he finally looked at her. But his hopes were short-lived.
As fate would always have it for him, just at the precise moment when he had decided to believe her, the silhouette of his brother came into view behind her.
Thor had heard (Y/N) scream, and came running to ensure her safety. But…
"(Y/N)! I heard you! What happened? Is-" He stopped in his tracks. His lost brother's name, even through a shallow breath, sounded to him like the most melodious music. "Loki!!"
The older Odinson stopped in his tracks. Tears flooded his eyes as he took in the sight of the brother he had believed to be dead. When his body could finally respond from the shock, his legs tried to take him as fast as possible to Loki.
But the scenario on the other side was not the same. The sight of Thor, regardless of how warming it was, brought up fresh images of the blonde wrapping (Y/N) in his arms on the seaside, of kissing Loki's betrothed on the head.
And that was enough to stir the fire within him - one that (Y/N) had just managed to calm down.
Loki got up, blinded by a searing pain somewhere deep within his chest.
"You do not deserve me," was all that he uttered to (Y/N) before disappearing from the scene.
A stunned Thor froze in his tracks. A broken (Y/N) sat on the cold ground feeling more empty than she had ever felt.
"He is gone!" She whispered to the dark night air.
Thor stumbled up to her.
"Where did he go? Where did he go?? He was here, wasn't he? (Y/N), he was here, right? (Y/N)!!"
But (Y/N) was lost in her own world. She kept mumbling to herself, wild eyes searching for something - or someone - in the far distance.
When Thor called her again and shook her, it was only then that she looked at him. And repeated the same line:
"He is gone, Thor! He is gone."
"What do you mean he is gone? He was right here!!"
"I cannot feel him anymore." A hand loosely trailed down from her temple to her chest. "He has…severed the bond. He has cut me off! Loki has… He has really ended our…relationship."
The words trailed off as she tried to make sense of what just happened. Or why it happened. Standing beside her, Thor looked around helplessly. He knew nothing about this bond that (Y/N) was talking about. All he understood was that his brother was probably lost forever. Again.
This time Loki had really left.

Lies (Loki x Reader)
Tumblr media
(Gif Not Mine)
Summary: You are a clairvoyant and have a horrible dream of Loki’s death at the hands of Thanos. Loki is there to calm you down when you wake up, but you fear that it might have been a vision of the future. (Gender Neutral Reader) Word Count: 1,107 Warnings: Nightmares, Implied Character Death/ Character Death in a Dream, Mild Violence, Thanos, No Use of Y/N, Petnames (Little Dove) Crossposted on AO3: https://archiveofourown.org/works/19781032
--- “You will never be a god.“
Those were the last words you would ever hear of Loki speak, the man you loved more than anything and who had promised you to always be by your side.
The horrific crack that could be heard as his neck snapped in two in Thanos' unforgiving grip made you fall to your knees. You tried your hardest not to break down. Tears ran down your face as you saw your lover’s dead body fall limp onto the floor.
“No resurrections this time.”
You crawled over to Loki, not even caring whether Thanos was already gone or he'd kill you, too. The only thing you had left was Loki. Thanos had destroyed your home, murdered everyone you'd held dear, and now he had taken the only person who you had left. Crying your heart out seemed like the reasonable thing to do and you let yourself fall halfway onto Loki’s chest.
Your body was wracked with sobs as you felt for a heartbeat at his wrist, his chest, or anywhere that you hadn’t checked before. Yet, you did detect no heartbeat. Loki was dead and you would never see him again.
Never again would you hear his voice. Never again would he tease you, trick you or prank you. Never again would you feel his warmth or see his smile. Never again would he hold you. And funny enough the first thought that popped in your head was to talk to Loki about this and find comfort in him, but that could never happen again.
Another sob wracked your body as you came to terms with the fact that he was in fact dead. You didn’t know what to do or how to move on from this. In the background, you could hear Thor calling out to you but you didn’t listen.
When you didn’t listen, Thor tried to drag you away, his own eyes filled with tears. You didn’t listen; you just clung to Loki’s body harder. Thor eventually sat down next to you, apparently giving up on trying to move you, tears now running down his face.
You didn’t look at him, didn’t talk to him. All you did was cling to Loki and cry as you felt the warmth leaving his body.
Nothing mattered anymore. Loki was dead.
You awoke with a strangled scream, bolting upright in bed. A quick look around confirmed to you that you were in your room on the Asgardian escape ship. Quickly, you put a hand to your mouth, trying to stop yourself from sobbing too loudly. As the contents of your dreams came back to you, a fresh wave of tears assaulted your eyes, and only then did you notice that you were crying.
A voice from next to you called out your name.
Turning your head, you saw Loki, breathing and looking at you. Without a second thought, you flung yourself at him, clinging to his frame and breaking down in earnest. The god didn’t know what was wrong but wrapped his arms around you nonetheless.
“What happened?”
“Night-- nightmare.” You managed to choke out. “Or a vision of the future. Oh, I hope it’s not the latter one.”
“A vision?” Loki asked softly. You were a clairvoyant but your visions only ever came randomly, sometimes in dreams even. “What happened in your vision to make you weep like this, my little dove?”
The thought of recounting this nightmare to Loki made you cry even harder, your breathing now coming out in short gasps.
“You can tell me later but for now I need you to breathe, little dove.” He whispered, hoping the pet name would calm you down a little. He then slowly began to trace shapes into your back. “Focus on my touch and voice, could you do that for me?”
You nodded and sobbed again, trying to focus solely on the shapes he traced onto your back and his soft voice.
“I am sure it was not a vision. Perhaps it was simply a nightmare and you are so insistent on it being a vision that you frightened yourself like this.” He whispered, slowly beginning to trace a star onto your back.
“Is that a star you're tracing?"
“It is indeed. Well done, my little dove.” He whispered and began to trace a heart onto your bare skin. “Can you find this one out, as well?”
“A heart.”
“Another job well done. You are breathing more evenly now. You did well.”
Slowly, you leaned back into him. “You died.”
“I died?” He asked softly. “I am right here.”
“In my dream, I mean.” You clarified. “Thanos, he wanted the Tesseract from us and he snapped your neck. You lay there, cold and unmoving. It was horrifying.”
“And why did he murder me in your dream?”
“You had the Tesseract with you, instead of it being destroyed on Asgard. I've been afraid that you had taken it for the duration of this journey.” You whispered.
You felt Loki swallowed and looked up at him. “Don’t fret, my dove. It was destroyed with Asgard.”
“Are you lying to me?” You whispered.
“Would you be able to go back to sleep?”
“I suppose, I would be able to.” You mumbled. “Loki, could I lay my head on your chest? I would like to hear your heartbeat.”
“Of course.” He gently maneuvered the two of you back onto the bed, your head on his chest. “Like so?”
You wrapped an arm around him and listened to his heartbeat, nodding slowly. It was a steady rhythm against your ear and you were calm within seconds. Loki put a hand onto your head to hold it on his chest and you began to trace little shapes onto his chest, closing your eyes.
“Loki?”
“Yes?”
“Can you promise me that whatever happens, you will try to survive?”
“I cannot.” He said quietly.
“Why?” Your voice was shaking again.
“Should it be your life or mine, I would always choose your life.” He explained in a calm, yet sad voice.
“I don’t want you to sacrifice your life for mine!” You protested.
A small chuckle vibrated in his chest “Have I ever done as you told me to?”
“Could you at least promise me that you will fight to survive as much as possible? That you will not let him kill you easily?” You whispered into the darkness.
“That I can promise you.” Loki whispered. “Now sleep, my dove.”
“Sleep well, love.” You whispered, holding onto him. “And promise me to stay by my side should Thanos find us.”
“I will always stay by your side.”
Lies.

Naughty Student
Tumblr media
Summary: Y/n is failing prof. Romanoff's class and she would do anything to change her grade but when Natasha Romanoff asks for sex in exchange for a good grade y/n has a choice to make (readers age: 18 y/o)
Pairing: natasha x fem!reader
Genre: smut
Warnings: age gap (14 years), drinking, underage drinking, teacher x student kink, fingering, slapping, biting, pushing (if there's anything I missed feel free to tell me) A/N: hii this is thr first fanfic I have ever written so it might not be that good but any critisism is appreciated.
Word count: 2.5k
Proffessor Romanoff was strict and she valued morals and honesty, so i knew that no amount i sucking up to her would change my failing grade. I was rushing over to her classroom thinking that I was late only to find myself checking the time on my phone before class and realising that I was in fact 10 minutes early. Walking into the classroom I saw the proffessor sitting on her desk holding some papers in her hands and typing something on her computer. She raised her head to check who came in the classroom and seeing it was ne she ironically said:
"Didn't expect you here at this time of the day"
Ok, I deserved that. I am always late to my classes. I tried to smile off her comment when she looked at me very seriously and said, "I actually needed to talk to you about your grade."
I was afraid this would happen sooner or later. I walked up to her, and she gestured that I sit down in one of the chairs in front of her. As I was doing just that, Ms. Romanoff glanced over at the rest of the room to ensure that we were alone. Then she started talking.
"I am concerned about your grades. Mostly your grade in my class but I have also noticed that even last year you were on the verge of failing. I have already seen most of this year's grades, and I don't want my class to be the reason you have to repeat the whole year. But as I hope you can understand, I also can't ignore your lack of attention during my lessons, your poor performance, your attendance marks, or the fact that you are constantly late to this class.".
I just looked at her and sighed. I didn't know how to respond. I've had this kind of conversation with professors before, but something about this one seemed different.
"Now I know that the school year's almost over, but you can still try your best. We have one more test coming up. I'll officially announce it to the rest of the class next week, but I thought giving you some extra time to prepare might help you out." she continued.
"If I get a good grade, will I pass the class?"
"That's hard to say y/n. But even if you pass my class, I don't think you have many chances of not having to repeat the whole year."
Good my only chance to get a better grade is a test. I hate tests. I'm horrible at them.
"And there's no other way I could increase my grade?"
Proffessor Romanoff gave me an "are you serious right now?" kind of look, so I just looked away.
"Thanks" I muttered.
I got up and started walking away from her desk. As I was walking, I heard her sigh and she said "Unless..."
I turned around to face her, and when I looked at her I saw a quick wave of guilt washing over her eyes and she disappointedly continued "but no.. you wouldn't want to do that. Plus it's not right."
"No but I would! Just tell me what it is you want me to do! I'd do anything to not fail."
She looked across the room for a second time to see if any other students had come in and once she made sure that we were alone, she told me to come closer to her. I did just that, being completely unprepared for what was about to happen.
Look, y/n I have been having some trouble lately... like sexually and I just-"
The sound of the door opening interrupted her. I turned my head to look and I saw a couple of students getting in the classroom. She looked at me and said quietly "so meet me at my office after the class?"
I nodded and went to my desk.
A bit after that the lesson begun.
".. I have been having some trouble lately.... like sexually....." I couldn't stop thinking about it. Why would she say this to me? What did she want? Advice? I wouldn't even be the right person to ask for that. I've only been with one person before and she was...well... a psycopath. I just kept thinking about it. The guilt in her eyes before she started talking, her fear that someone night be in the room and hear us talk....wait could this be one of these "a student got with a teacher" kind of things? I mean what if she wanted sex in exchange of a good grade? No Ms. Romanoff would never do that. She values morals above everything else, she's said it herself a lot of times. During the lesson I kept thinking about it. I couldn't focus and I was kind of nervous about meering the proffesor after the class. As the lesson finished I pretended to be looking for something on the ground until most of the students left. I but my notebook and my textbooks in my backpack and once I saw Ms. Romanoff doing the same I slowly got out of my seat and I walked towars the exit. She walked up to me and said loudly " y/n follow me to my office please, we need to discuss your grades." I did as she said and as we entered her office she locked the door behind us. "So as I was saying there is something that you can do in order to change your grade. But before I tell tou what it is I have to know whether I can trust you."she paused and looked at me I reassured her that whatever conversation we had would stay between us and so she continued " I was thinking maybe you could help me out... sexually?" I looked at her in complete disbelief. "I- I don't know" "that's fine honey maybe we can just go out for dinner and a couple of drinks and, you know, let things take their natutal course..."
Ok I know I have said that I would do anything to get my grade higher but this? I mean a lot could go wrong. She looked at me and said "You can go now y/n" You can get back to me on this offer later today or tommorrow before class. Here's my number." She gave me a piece of paper with her number on it. I just said "I'll think about it" "good." She smiled and started moving towards the door she unlocked and I got out of my seat. I was almost next to her she closed the door grabbed my by my waste and pushed her lips against mine. I pulled back and she immediately stopped. "Sorry" she said looking embarrassed "what was that?" I didn't actually expect an answer, so I was surprised when she replied with "just a sapmle of my abilities."
There's no way I'd have sex with proffessor Romanoff. I'd just go up to ger tommorrow and say that I tought about it and decided not to take her up on the offer. But while thinking about it I realised that I really needed that grade to go up I have already failed almost half of my classes and I'm not doing so well in the rest of them so this is actually the only way I can maybe manage to pass. And although I pulled away that kiss wasn't bad at all. Natasha's soft lips rubbing against mine, her hands grabbing my waist, the way her hair felt on my neck and her boobs pressing against my chest... Maybe this wouldn't be such a bad idea after all. Maybe just going out for dinner like she suggested and trying things out would be good for me. I would step out of my comfort zone for once, do something new. In the end I let me intrusive thoughs win. I grabbed my phone and added a new contact: Natasha Romanoff.
Natasha's pov:
I was sitting on my balcony finishing my second glass of whine when I got a notification:
(Unknown): Heyyy I was thinking about you. That kiss today wasn't that bad ;)
She changed the name of the contact to: y/n
Natasha: oh really?
I smiled at my phone. I poured myself another glass of wine while I was waiting for an answer.
Y/n: yeah you are a really good kisser...
Y/n maybe we should do it again sometime
I looked at the time it was only 5.30 pm
Natasha: well how about we go out tonight?
Quite some time passed before I recieved an answer and I got a bit annoyed thinking that I'd get rejected so I just grabbed the wine bottle and started drinking until my phone buzzed again
Y/n: What time should we meet?
Natasha: text me your address. I'll pick you up at 7.00
I finished my drink and checked the address I had been sent. It wasn't that far away so I had time to get ready. I decided on wearing my short black dress which has never failed me and style my hair in some lose waves. I got in my car and it only took me 5 minutes to get to y/n's house.
Natasha: I'm here
Y/n's pov:
I got out of my house and got into Ms. Romanoff's car. The car was black with leather seats. "So were are we going?" I actually had no idea where she was taking me. She could be kidnapping me for all I know. "Let me surprise you, won't you?" That didnt make me feel more at ease. "You look beautiful" she told me. "Thanks. You too" I wasn't sure but I thought I could smell a hint of alcohol in her breath. After a while she parked in the parking of what looked to be a very expensive restaurant " I don't think I can afford this place" I noticed "Don't worry about the money doll. Tonight's on me" I let out a sigh and she just smiled. She gestured that I stayed in the car and I did just that. After she got out of the car she walked up to the side where I was seated and held open the door for me. "Mm what a gentleman!" I said. She just let out a laugh. The date went great, turns out that even though we had a 14 year age difference it didn't affect us as much as I originally thought it would.
"Do you want something to drink?" She asked me after we finished eating. "Well.. this place only has alcoholic drinks and I'm still to young for that" "So you are telling me that you have never drank alcohol before?" I nodded. She gesured to waited and when he came she told him to take away our dirty plates and her wine glass and bring us two glasses of their most expensive champagne. "So what do you think of it?" She asked after I started drinking my glass of champagne "well it's interesting. It has kind of compicated flavour." It was kind of sweet and it had a fruit-like undertaste. "So you like it then?" "Yeah" after we got in the car she asked the question: "so..do you want to come over to my place?" I paused for a moment. I could feel her looking at me, waiting for my answer. "Sure that would be nice".
Natasha's pov: As I was driving back to my place I realised I was getting kind of tipsy. We made it to my house after a while and Started getting out of the car. Y/n also got out of the car but she seemed a bit different. "Are you ok?" I asked her "yeah I'm just a tired and I think the alcohol is getting to me" " You want me to drive you home?" " No, no it's not bad it just feels different." I smiled. "You'll get used to it". We were already in the elevator by the time I said that. The response that I got was: "how? Are you planning on giving me more alcohol over the course of this relationship" I leant closer to her and wishpered "yes I am". The elevator bell rang and I showed her to my apartment. Once we went to my bedroom I tackled her so she fell on my bed. She just looked at me and said "oh so you are into that kind of stuff?" "Yeah but I'll go easy on you" I took of my dress. Y/n pulled her mini skirt up her hips and took her underwear off as she opened ger legs. I took of my dress and before I could respond she grabbed my hand and pulled me so I would fall on her lap. "Someone's been a naughty student" I said. " and what are you going to do about it?" I leaned in and bit her neck she let out a little cry before she started kissing me, with her teeth bitting on my bottom lip. I pushed her so she'd fall on the bed and with one hand I sarted rubbing her clit while with the other i was squeezing her boob. She moaned and slapped my ass. "That's not what teachers do with their students..." I pushed my hand deep into her vagina and she screamed. "You have been a bad student and this is you punishment" I squeezed her left boob with all my strength. She let out a small scream and then rolled my over pining me down to the bed as she bit me on my neck. She continued biting further down my body, reaching my boobs. She started sucking on one of my nipples as I moaned. I waited for a while and then told her " go further down!" She looked at me and said with a smile "what if I refused?" I slapped her. "Go further down!" I yelled. Looking at me she started licking the rest of my body. She finally started licking my clit and soon enough she pushed her tongue inside of me. I let out a loud moan and an orgasm took over my body. "You shouldn't having this much fun with your students" she said after she took her tongue out of me. She grabbed me by my waist and turned me over so I was lying on my stomach. She slapped my ass harder than I thought she could. I got up quickly, practically throwing her off the bed. I grabbed her by the hair and ordered "open your mouth!" She shook her head. "I said open it now!" She just smiled. I pulled on her hair harder and she obeyed. I spit on my fingers and pushed them inside her mouth. She started licking me ang I pushed my fingers deeper in her mouth. She tried to scream and i just said " this is what you get for sleeping with your teacher." After I removed my fingers from her mouth she just sat there. Looking at me. " Are you ok?" I asked. "Yeah" she said and she lied down on the floor. I sat next to her and asked "did I go too hard on you?" "No, it was perfect"

Came Back For You- Nomad Steve Rogers xreader Fan Fic
Tumblr media
Summary: Steve came back home from Wakanda to see Y/N because he missed her and didn’t wanna be away from her any longer
Warnings: angsty and fluffy, mild swearing, not many warnings
~Steve’s POV~
I was really glad to be coming back home to see Y/N though being in Wakanda was amazing but I didn’t wanna be away from Y/N anymore, I missed waking up next to her every morning. I got to her apartment after Bucky dropped me off and he looked at me and said “are you sure coming back here is a good idea Steve? If anyone sees we’re back we’ll be arrested.” I got my bag and walked out of the quinjet and patted Bucky on the shoulder and said “don’t worry Buck just go and lay low somewhere we’ll figure this out I’ll see you later ok?” Bucky nodded and closed the door to the quinjet and I watched him fly off and went inside Y/N’s apartment building and found her apartment number and knocked on the door hoping she still lived here. I haven’t seen her in a year and I was really nervous that she might not remember me or that she would be with someone else by now.
~Y/N’s POV~
*Knock Knock Knock*
Oh, who’s that?? I wasn’t expecting anyone to come over to my place tonight, I got up from the couch and went to answer the door and I was shocked when I saw who was at the door. “Oh my god!.. Steve?! What are you doing here???” Steve smiled at me and said “Hey doll, I missed you and came back for you. It’s so good to see you Y/N you are as beautiful as I remember.” I hugged Steve and said “I missed you so much Steve, I’m so glad you’re home by the way I love your beard it looks so good on you.” Steve blushed and rubbed the back of his neck and said “oh yea? I think I look like a mess but I’m glad you like it sweetheart.” I smiled and Steve moved closer to me and said “I hope it’s ok that I wanna kiss you?” I cupped his face in my hands and said “yea of course it is Steve I miss your kisses.” Steve leaned in more and kissed me and I got pinned against the wall and Steve whispered “I worried coming here that.. you’d move on after I left and that I’d lose you but I’m glad I didn’t doll you’re my everything and I love you I never forgot about you, I missed waking up to you every morning.” I cried and hugged him not wanting to let him go. “I never moved on Steve.. I never wanted anyone else I love you, you’re the love of my life I’ll always be here I promise you ok?” Steve kissed me and said “This is why I love you Y/N, I’m never letting you go again and no matter what it takes nothing will keep me away from you I swear.” We just stood in the middle of the living room hugging like we were never apart I loved having Steve back in my life and I’m glad he felt the same.
I couldn’t get over how amazing Steve looked with his long hair and his beard, I ran my fingers through his hair and he looked into my eyes and said “what are you thinking about honey?” I smiled and said “I just really love your long hair and your beard, I love your new look, I’m glad you’re home Steve I really missed you.” Steve kissed my forehead and said “I’m never leaving again I promise doll I’m here.”
I was getting tired and Steve noticed and said “why don’t we lay down on the couch Y/N, you need the rest.” I nodded after yawning and he helped me sit down with him and I laid my head on his chest and cuddled up close to him and said “Steve.. I’m scared if I close my eyes that you’ll be gone.” Steve rubbed my back and said “don’t be scared doll I’m gonna be right here the whole time, take a nap ok? I love you.” I felt better after he pulled me closer and I closed my eyes to Steve playing with my hair gently.
Hey lovelies!!! I thought I would do a Nomad Steve fan fic 😁💙 I hope you all enjoy xx

CHAPTER 23: ''Here I am alone between the heavens and the embers''
Tumblr media
~SONG TO LISTEN TO WHILE READING (If you want of course):  In the stars - by Benson Boone~
Tony.
My ears were still ringing as I was staring up at the ceiling, tears streaming down my face. The empty bottle of whisky fell out of my hand, onto the ground with a hard thud, some of it spilled on the floor.
I couldn’t move, my body was numb and it hurt to breathe. This couldn’t be happening. “Ms. Potts is at the door, sir” J.A.R.V.I.S.’s voice echoed through the intercom in my bedroom. “Shall, I let her in?” J.A.R.V.I.S. suggested. I didn’t answer. So Pepper was able to override his system and walk in.
Her heels clicked on the marble tiles, causing me to grab my forehead. My head was falling apart. She stopped at the head of the sofa, staring down at me, judgment eminent on her face. It was mixed with a sorry look on her face, however. A big sigh left her lips as she crouched down and grabbed the bottle off the floor putting it down on the table with a hard thud. “Tony” she sighed. “You have to get up now,” she said, her voice stern. I ignored her. No muscle in my body had the energy to move.
Every time my heart pumped, I hoped it be my last as I could not fathom the pain I was feeling. No amount of alcohol could numb this pain.
Pepper got upset and grabbed my arm. She pulled me up into a sitting position but I had no intentions of moving or being cooperative so, I just sat up, slumped like a sack of potatoes. “You have to get ready now, your flight leaves in an hour” I leaped for the bottle of whisky and chugged the last of it down.
She got tired of me just ignoring her and she grabbed me by the collar of my shirt and dragged me to the adjoining bathroom, into the shower. I came down with a thud. Before I could protest she had opened the faucet and cold water came down pouring all over me. As I was sobering up, my emotions hit me all at once. I started crying. “I don’t-” I cried. Pepper sighed and crouched down next to the shower door.
“Tony, you have to go” She turned off the faucet. I was leaning up against the wall behind me. “Your flight leaves in an hour”
“I can’t” I sighed. “She can’t be gone, Pepper.” she had a hurt look on her face. It was only then, that I noticed that she was fully dressed in black. She noticed my eyes darting over her clothes and then they met hers.
“You’re not alone” She squeezed my shoulder and stood up. “Now, go shower. I’ll try to push your flight for another thirty minutes” she said, her voice stern, again. It took everything in my body for me to get up and shower.
About an hour later I stepped onto my jet. My tie felt way too tight around my neck, almost like it was suffocating me, so I kept fiddling with it until I just couldn’t take it anymore and took it off. Much to Peppers's protests.
“It’s not like she’ll see it” I spit. Pepper’s breath hitched as her hand clutched her necklace. I walked to my seat and sat down. I was left staring at the empty seat in front of me. A big lump formed in my throat.
The stewardess came in asking If I needed something. “Yeah whiskey” Pepper protested but I shushed her. The woman went and got the beverage. When she put it down on the table. “Can you leave the bottle too?” she put on a soft smile, but she had a sorry look on her face.
I caught a glimpse of Pepper, looking at me with a very disappointed. But I couldn't care less. A big sigh left her lips as she kept toggling on her phone. I think she had given up on keeping me sober. I took the glass of whiskey and drank it like a shot—the residue burning in my throat.
It wasn’t so long before Pepper shook me violently. “Tony, we’re almost there. We’re landing soon.” I groaned as my head was pounding and the light was bright. She handed me a glass of water and some aspirin for me to take before we touched down.
“You’re too good for me, Pepper. You shouldn’t putting up with me” I sighed.
“It’s my job, Tony. You pay me to do this” she said. They weren't exactly the comforting words I needed to hear. But I guess I deserved that. I haven’t been the greatest boss or nicest person. And All of that didn’t matter since the one light in my life was gone.
Ransom’s death wasn’t something I saw coming and it was something I had trouble coming to grips with. Even though everyone told me that she fought till her last breath. But that her injuries were too severe for her to recover from. Even for someone as strong and resilient as she was. My eyes burned when I thought of her, laying there in that hospital bed as the heart monitor flatlined. The feeling of Thor and Ahmed holding me back, as they tried to fight back tears, didn’t leave my head as it kept playing repeatedly in a loop. Followed by the look of her pale and bruised face before the nurse put a blanket over her body covering her.
I couldn't believe she wasn’t here anymore. The light of my life, my better half. I had failed the one thing I promised my father. I couldn’t even protect her.
I was supposed to protect her…
Tumblr media
With that thought, I got off the plane. I was wearing sunglasses, to try and hide my horrible hangover and my red puffy eyes. I was greeted by an army, comepletly dressed in black, with sad faces.

Give Her Back
Summary: When you die at the hands of Thanos, Wanda will do absolutely anything to get you back.
A/N: I did say that I was gay so here this is!! Wanda Maximoff has entered the chat! Also... Contains Multiverse of Madness spoilers in PT3 so if you haven't seen it, don't read part 3
Warnings: reader death, Wanda's grief, Thanos
Tumblr media
She was stuck. Wanda had tried to keep Thanos away from you and the last Infinity Stone. But she knew that his approach couldn't be stopped no matter what Wanda tried to do.
The Mind Stone had once been in Vision but he had sacrificed himself to give you the final stone and protect it with your own powers that you gained from exposure to the Tesseract. With your connection to the Tesseract, you felt when the portal was activated for Thanos to come and collect the last remaining Stone. The hum of the Space Stone when it felt you close to it was what signalled Thanos to your location, manipulating the joy of the stone to the sinister nature of the connection between you and the Gauntlet.
Wanda held your hand as she watched the Titan emerge from the portal and she looked down at the amber Stone in your hand with hatred clear in her eyes, "I have to destroy it! I have to destroy it so please, don't move."
You nodded hesitantly before a small smile rose onto your face as her fingers lit up with the seductive red that you had grown used to when she was using her magic. The beam of red hit the Infinity Stone in your hands and you saw as Captain America tried to fight against Thanos but he was quickly tossed aside. Seeing the titan approaching, you kept your eyes locked on Wanda as you raised a hand and conjured a shield behind her that stopped the deadly blow from a knife.
The shield only lasted so long. As the cracks started to form on the Infinity Stone, you started to see your shield weakening as Thanos was using the Space Stone against you. Desperately, you looked at Wanda, who quickly dropped your hand to use both hands to propel the blast faster into the Stone.
The moment the Stone broke, you felt the shockwave hit you in the check which sent you flying backwards, Wanda flying the opposite way. Moments passed and you gazed down at the broken shards of the last Infinity Stone. You let relief wash over you and you looked up to see Thanos staring right at you with a look that instantly shook you to the bone. Then, in a horrifying moment, you saw the Gauntlet light up green with Mystic Arts magic and you realised that he had the Time Stone. Your efforts to thwart his acquisition of the Mind Stone had failed because Stephen had fucking given up the Time Stone!
Wanda looked up at Thanos in horror before the Time magic was activated and her body was moved back to its original spot before the Mind Stone was smashed. Once Wanda's magic stopped before it started, Thanos stopped the Time magic and you stared in horror as he threw Wanda away from you and picked you up by the neck, looking deep into your eyes.
"Your sacrifice was honourable, little one, I hope you know," the monster whispered to you before increasing the pressure on your neck and popping the vertebrae in your neck out of place, hearing the cracks and Wanda stared in horror as your body went limp in the monster's hands. You could hear the screams of your lover as your body was thrown to the ground and the amber Stone stolen from your hand.
You felt Wanda tentatively lift your body up onto her lap and your whole body screamed in unbearable agony but you couldn't express that pain in any way. You felt her moving your hair to the side and kissing your forehead as reality started to become strained.
Wanda felt your heart stop, her head bowed onto your chest as she sobbed brokenly before a snap was heard and her body crumbled to dust, your body slumping to the grass as her lap disappeared beneath your head.
Reappearing moments, or so it felt like, later, Wanda looked down to see your body gone and her hand flew up to cup her mouth as she broke into sobs and rocked back and forth as a guttural cry escaped her lips. She was only gone for a moment! Where were you?!
A portal opened in front of Wanda and she got to her feet gracelessly, unknowing of how to take these steps away from where your body had just been moments ago. Activating her magic, she flew through the portal with Wilson and T'challa. She landed at the front of the team that was gathering and her eyes gleamed with the power she held, anger fueling her battle-filled mind.
"Avengers!" Steve yelled a bit away from her and her magic glowed in her hands as she stared down her target; Thanos. Mjolnir came soaring through the air and Steve caught it in his hand, reeling back from the force as he whispered, "assemble."
The battle cry that followed spurred Wanda to soar into the air, blowing foes away left and right as she headed straight for their leader. Landing gracefully, she stared at Thanos with unbridled rage as she seethed, "you took everything from me!"
The Titan stared at her for a moment in confusion before whispering, "I don't even know who you are," and charging at her with his two-ended sword.
As Thanos approached, Wanda met him head on with the full force of her magic, throwing blast after blast at him as she remembered her beloved. She remembered how he had strangled the life out of her body, throwing her dead body to the floor as if she was nothing to him. Her blasts became more powerful as her anger got worse, she threw boulders and rocks at the monster as she charged. He lunged forward with his sword, hoping that short distance would diminish her power but his sword was quickly caught in her red glow and he was pushed back and away from her.
Suddenly, she caught him in her magic and Thanos swore he had never felt like his body was crushing him more than in this moment. The force was growing unbearable and he groaned as the little with beneath him was surely ready to kill him. She was removing his armour from him as she moved her fingers in a practised movement and Thanos screamed in agony as she did.
Relenting, Thanos decided that the only possible resolution to his agony would be to sacrifice all of his troops to get this woman off of him, "rain fire!" he called out to his General and Wanda smirked as her intimidation worked.
The guns were activated and fired right at the Avengers, a blast hitting Wanda and propelling her backwards, releasing her victim. She laid on the floor for a few moments but when the ship above her was suddenly blasted to smithereens, she hastily got out of the way to watch Captain Marvel appear out of the other end of the ship to land beside the Spider-Boy.
Wanda gathered with the other women and her hands lit up with power as she knew her duty now was to make sure Marvel got to that minivan with the Gauntlet. Two mother-beast Chitauri appeared in Marvel's path so Wanda quickly used her powers to hold them at bay even if she struggled, she was fighting for you! To bring you back!
Thanos managed to get a hold of the gauntlet after that and Wanda didn't know what to do. She wanted to be the one to finally end Thanos for what he did to you but she was held back by the Sorcerer Supreme, Wong. She looked up at him with fury evident in her eyes before he held up a finger to her and then pointed to Tony and she understood.
Watching Thanos' shocked face as Tony uttered his final words to him, "I am Iron Man," brought tears to Wanda's eyes. She was expecting a portal to open and for you to walk through with a bright smile on your face but you never did. She was alone.
As the Chitauri disappeared, Wanda pushed off of the ground and headed back to Wakanda to try and see if there was any sight of your body. She landed where your body had been but there was no trace of your body having decomposed or anything. It was like you weren't even there in the first place.
Wanda didn't know how she would cope without you now. Your death was still fresh in her mind and she knew that she would never see you again.

First Times
Jake X Reader, Steven X Reader, Marc X Reader
Summary: After meeting Jake for the very first time by accident, you realize you're just as attracted to him as you are to Steven and Marc.
Warnings: Minors DNI! 18+, straight up doing the dance without pants, choking, rough dancing without pants, no protection, oral (f receiving).
Tumblr media
You woke after another late night with Steven, deep conversations and Egyptian lore. Steven was a nerd, no denying that, but you adored spending time with him. You were the one to initiate anything with Steven, he was too nervous to do anything of the sort with you. Marc was the dominate one, the one who took charge and made you his. You'd grown used to enjoying making Steven yours, right now he was no where to be found. You figured he left the house to get some coffee or breakfast, knowing that today you'd be spending the whole day with him.
You turned over to get a peak at the clock, reading that it was five am. You furrowed your brows, Steven would never be up this early, he loved to sleep in. You decided that likely Marc got control of the body, and he was getting breakfast of some sort. Marc always got up early.
You decided to roll back over and wait for one of the boys to come back and laugh off your confusion. You scrolled through a couple news outlets while you waited, seeing another story about the strange masked vigilante protecting citizens at night. You wondered who Khonsu suckered into being his avatar and scrolled down to see a suit similar to Marc's, with darker detailing. The article was posted this morning, and was just starting to gain traction, you closed the article and continued scrolling, seeing that today would be rainy yet again.
You heard the unmistakable sound of the elevator beeping and heavy footsteps until they reached your door. The familiar lock clicking and door opening had you sitting up and smiling. Though the man who walked in the door looked more like Marc than Steven, you could tell something was off with him. He had the darkest eyes you'd ever seen on your boyfriend's face, and a cap on his head. You knew neither of your boyfriends wore hats, nor stand in the doorway looking at you like you had three heads.
"Is this a prank?" You chuckled nervously, trying to let on you didn't like it.
"You're not supposed to be awake..." An unfamiliar accent had you terrified as he shut the door and locked it behind him. He kept his eyes on yours as he took his hat off and set it on the counter.
He pulled a brown bag from his pocket and opened it, reaching inside to pull something out. "Oh my god you're going to kill me aren't you." Your words came out quickly, the fear in your voice lingering with every word.
He pulled a muffin from the bag with a confused expression, "Um, well no. I didn't expect this to happen." He stepped closer to you and set another muffin on your nightstand and walked away, "Usually you're still asleep when I get home, and I'll just let whoever back in control." He continuing chewing on the muffin like he hadn't said something so jarring to you.
"Who are you exactly?" The fear you previously felt dwindled to confusion.
"Jake. We're not supposed to meet though, so do us all a favor and act like this didn't happen, yeah?" He turned the coffee maker on and started brewing a pot, it was clear to you he'd been to your flat before, and knew his way around easily.
"Why aren't we supposed to meet?" You threw the blankets off your legs and stood up, cold air stinging your bare legs.
His eyes looked you up and down for a moment, his body growing tense, "You don't want to know. Besides, Marc and Steven are starting to wake up, so I need to go now. Enjoy breakfast, on Steven of course I'll give him credit this time." He went into the bathroom and changed into Steven's pajamas, crawling back into bed and eyes rolling back.
Once they returned, Steven's face looked at yours in a confused manor, "Was I sleep walking again?" He asked.
"Um no Steven, why didn't you tell me you have a third alter?" Steven raised his eyebrows and laughed for a moment.
"Because there isn't one, just Marc and me in here." He knocked on his head with another laugh. "Come back to bed its too early for this."
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Every time you brought up the mere existence of Jake, Marc or Steven always shut it down, laughing at the thought of another person using the body.
Weeks went by and you ceased your mentioning of Jake, Marc and Steven didn't believe you anyways, so you knew you'd just have to see him again. You tried catching him constantly, but he was always one step ahead.
You found yourself pretending to sleep, the clock telling you it was two am. Steven's peaceful snores suddenly stopped and you felt his weight shift on the bed. There was no way it was him sleep walking this time.
His body walked across the floor effortlessly quiet and you sat up, "Excuse me, where do you think you're going?" His eyes snapped to yours and laughed.
"Alright, you caught me this time Y/N. What's up?" His accent causing you to grin, it was him. Jake was real.
"I need to know why we aren't supposed to meet. Why Marc and Steven don't know you're even there." He sat down at the foot of the bed.
"Señorita, you're going to get yourself into trouble." His tone was almost flirty, a blush stained your cheeks instantly.
"I need to know. I won't tell them I promise." You figured playing into his game might work better.
He sighed and nodded weirdly, "Okay, I was created by Marc, unknowingly of course, and I protect the body at all times. Neither of them know I exist or seem to have caught on to all the lost time both of them face because of me. If whoever is in control of the body gets into trouble without being able to fix it, I do." He shrugged, "I'm like the darker piece of this body. I get what needs to be done in any means necessary."
You slowly processed, knowing that Marc and Steven experienced black-outs in consciousness, waking surrounded by blood and bodies. "Why can't they know?" You stammered.
Jake leaned closer to you, his dark smile sending shivers down your spine, "Do you really think after all they've been through together that they could ever accept me?" You instantly found yourself shaking your head, "Exactly, so do us all a favor and keep it between us?"
"Jake it feels wrong..." His head tilted at you, his was so expressive in different ways than Marc and Steven. Yet you found yourself attracted to him, your heart hammering in your chest as his finger caressed your jawline.
"It could be our little secret." He enticed, he ran his hand around your throat and grinned when you didn't pull away.
He froze for a moment and moved away from you, looking at something in the kitchen. "Not tonight I remembered I have other plans." He growled and gestured at you in the bed.
You realized quickly Khonsu was in your kitchen talking to Jake, Jake was Khonsu's avatar, and the darker suit in the news. Yet when he turned around and apologized you forgave him instantly.
"How long have you been Moon Knight?" You asked and he pressed a finger to your lips.
"That's confidential, preciosa." His other hand found the back of your head, gripping your hair and pulling you in for a kiss. He was somehow more forceful than Marc, yet you liked it. "How long have you been thinking about me like this?" He murmured into your ear and started kissing your neck, using his teeth to leave nibbles everywhere he went.
Your mind was fuzzy, it felt so good to be letting Jake do this, "A while." You finally replied and he grinned into the crook of your neck.
"You have no idea how long I've been thinking about your like this querida." He continued his assault and you took it as an opportunity to pull at his shirt.
He yanked it off and shoved your back against the bed, parting your legs with his and climbing on top of you. His lips pressed to yours again and he forced his tongue through your lips. He continued until you were trying to pull away for air, and moved back to your neck.
One of his hands moved to cup your breast through one of Marc's shirts, you whined loudly moving to grind on his growing bulge. He chuckled against your neck and pulled you to sit up to pull off your shirt.
"Wow you're so beautiful cariño..." He words trailed off and he laid you back down, sitting on his knees to look at you, his eyes showing his arousal. "I never expected you to be this perfect. I've never..." He shook his head, "I've never watched either of them fuck you." Jake grumbled and moved back down finally to pepper kisses from your neck to your chest.
He left your wordless, and soon breathless after he had you naked, he yanked a leg over his shoulder and pressed kisses to your inner thigh. "Can I touch you?" You nodded and continuing to kiss your thigh, his thumb swiped across your clit, causing you to whine pathetically.
His finger swiped across your folds and felt the wetness, "Wow cariño, you're so wet." He made quick work to start fingering you with one thick finger. You whimpered loudly and he bit your thigh gently, "Want me to kiss your clit?" He asked softly, you nodded once again and he smirked, moving down to begin sucking on your clit. Your hands found his hair, pulling his curls hard as he added another finger into you.
"Jake fuck that feels so good." His pace quickened at the praise and he pulled your thighs on his shoulders.
"Come for me." He ordered and continued his pace, the obscene sounds of him fingering you and eating you was getting you closer and closer. Jake moaned against your clit as the pressure built in the pit of your stomach, until the tight coil snapped. Jake held you tightly against him as he made you ride out your high, the sensitivity biting as you tried to escape the overwhelming pleasure.
"Jake..." He pulled away at once and wiped your arousal off his face, you're breathing was still uneven as he calmed you down with more kisses along your neck. You could see the bulge in his pants and knew it wasn't over yet. "Do you want me to touch you?" You asked and Jake chuckled.
"I'm thinking I'm a little past that princesa, can I fuck you?" You sat up to start pulling off his pants, nodding once again. "Ready for more?" He asked as you pulled but his hands stopped you.
"Yes Jake." He got off the bed and pulled his pants off in one fluid motion, standing in tight black boxers you admired him as you admired the body of your boyfriends. Once his boxers hit the floor, Jake's large member was on full display, his head angry in color, and precum already leaking from the tip.
Jake climbed back into the bed and eased himself between your legs, "I'll go slow at first, let me know if I'm being too rough." He then pressed the tip of his cock into your entrance, groaning as he pushed himself all the way in.
You could never quite prepare yourself for your boyfriend's length, Jake went as deep as he could and pulled his hips out, slowly moving in and out. You were already adjusted to his girth, watching him in ecstasy until he was ready to pick up the pace. He watched your facial expression as he started to quickly pound you.
Jake pulled your hands above your head and held them there as he continued, the other hand moving between your thighs to rub your clit. Your panting and moans only seemed to encourage him, his grip moved to your neck and he squeezed lightly to ask permission to choke you.
You nodded and his grip instantly went to an unforgiving restrain, the slight dizziness with the pleasure making you want to come again already, "Jake I'm close you need to slow do--" He choked harder and your words were cut off with the airflow, he loosened with a dark grin on his face.
"No. Come." He growled and within seconds his encouragement sent you over the edge once again, crying out his name when his grip on your neck disappeared and his hand flew over your mouth to deafen the sound of your cries.
Jake pulled out and turned you onto your side, going right back into your pussy to continue slamming into you. You hardly even recovered from your orgasm and the pressure was starting to build up. Jake held both thighs and watched you try to overcome the overstimulation he was giving you proudly.
He pulled out again and pulled you on your hands and knees, lining up with your entrance from behind as he began again. One of his hands cupped your breast, as it bounced from how hard he fucked you.
"Fuck Y/N, can I come in you?" He grabbed your hips roughly to fuck you even harder.
"Yes please Jake!" You cried out as the pressure because too much and you were coming undone again, you felt his hips stutter against yours, and his member twitching as he came inside you.
Jake pulled out and grabbed his shirt to clean you both up. He eased you back onto your back, "Stay let me get you some water." He ordered, you obliged and tried to even your breathing.
Jake helped you sit up and handed you the glass of water, not even realizing how thirsty you were until just now. He inspected you for any marks of any sort and kissed any spot he found.
"Did I hurt you at all?" His voice nervous, you shook your head no and his shoulders relaxed. "You did so good cariño." You blushed and he laid you back down.
You sighed blissfully as he tucked you back into bed and climbed in beside you, "Remember Y/N, our little secret." You didn't have the energy to fight him on it, he spooned you as you fell asleep.
When you woke up in the morning beside Steven, he blushed, "Oh sheesh, did you and Marc have fun last night?" He chuckled and you let out a tired laugh.
"I'm not sure, probably if it wasn't you I guess."
"It wasn't me either." Marc replied looking at himself in the mirror.
You chuckled, knowing now you had beat Jake at his game and Marc and Steven argued who could've left all those hickeys on your thighs and chest.

*Thor’s POV*
Failure.  A feeling I never once felt before up until now. Even when I was banished by my father and lost my hammer, it was nothing compared to now.  My father, my home, nearly half of my people, my brother, and now—now my sister.
And only two of those things weren’t taken by the same person.  When Thanos came for us after Asgard was destroyed by Sutar in order to defeat Hela, we could only manage to send half of the people down to Earth before we were attacked, but even with those people safe the rest could not. Heimdell was one of my dear friends to die first after he used the last bit of strength to send Banner to warn the Avengers of Thanos.
My sister and I did our best but with him already in possession of the Power Stone, he had us badly outmatched and out strengthened.  Then he had Loki killed right before our eyes, the two of us helpless and could only watch as he snapped his neck.  For a brief moment I thought we were dead when our ship was destroyed but then we came across the Morons.  Led by a rabbit and his tree companion.
After getting Storm breaker forged for myself and my sister even obtaining a newly gifted gauntlets to harness her power of Starlight.  Next to me, I would say she’s the strongest Avenger (even though she never wanted to be one).  Her being the Goddess of the Stars, she is basically a star in human form with enhanced strength, speed, can fire star beams from her eyes and star bolts from her hands. That’s why some people on Earth called her ‘Star bolt’ or something along those lines.
Together we came to Earth with the rabbit and tree and we were on the verge of victory until Thanos arrived.  I had him, as did my little sister.  She fired with all her might as soon as he had completed the gauntlet and retrieved the last of the Infinity stones.  Then I used Storm-breaker to impale Thanos before he could do the snap.  I had shoved the blade of my newly forged axe into his chest, as deep as it could go and had the Mad Titan on his knees.
His final words were that I should’ve gone for the head, then he lifted the gauntlet and snapped his fingers as a bright light flashed before my eyes.  I had demanded him that he tell me what he had done when I saw the gauntlet burnt to a crisp, but the coward fled through a portal.  Next thing I knew, people were disappearing into dust.
“Brother?” I heard my sister say and when I turned to her I saw her clutching her stomach.  “I—I don’t feel so good.” I soon took notice of the same dusty flakes coming off of her.
“No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no hey. Hey (Y/n) come here, come here little sister.” I held her together burying my face into her neck.  “You’re right here. You’re right here with me, yes? Just like the old days, the two of us together. We’re okay, we’ll be okay.” She smiled solemnly as tears glistened in her eyes.
“Goodbye brother.” She whispered.
“No, no there’s no goodbyes not for us. Please my little starlight, stay with me. I-I can’t lose you too!” but soon she faded away and all that was left was dust in my hands.
All of that happened just 4 weeks ago.  The week before, we found Thanos and hoped we’d use the stones to bring everyone back only to find out that he used them to destroy them.
Not wanting to hear anymore, I did what I should’ve done at that very day I lost everything. I went for the head.
After that, I couldn’t take it.  Numbness and emptiness overtook me.  What was life on Earth without my only family left? She was my little sister, she was my best friend, my guiding star.  From the day she was born, I made an oath to always watch out for her.
I had promised mother and father that I’d never let anything happen to her.  Before Loki came along, it was just the two of us.  We got into the worst sort of trouble, but she was always there to get us out of it using her charm and wit.  Thinking back now, that’s probably how Loki learned to be the silver tongue he came to be.
But now they were both gone.  Leaving me as the last of Odin’s children.
*Present day 4 weeks after Blip*
The humans were calling it The Blip.  After half of the universe had been snapped away, that’s what they called this tragic event.  Their governments and politicians trying to get the records of everyone around the world who had been blipped, trying to rebuild, but there was nothing I could do to help them.
“Hey Thor.” Banner’s voice spoke up.  I didn’t respond.  “I managed to locate Valkyrie and Korg. They said they’ve settled all the remaining Asgardians in a small town in Norway called Tønsberg.” I remained sitting in my chair looking out the window.  “Look buddy, I know that—things hadn’t been easy. But don’t you think your people need you? Or at least let them know you’re okay?”
“And what do I tell them? Hmm? Can you-can you answer me that Banner? When I go there the first thing they’ll ask me is where is…..” I stopped and brushed away the tears from my eyes.  No scratch that, not tears I just have something in my eye.
“I get it. I miss her too man. Your sister was—someone really special. Remember she helped me after I found out that I had been the Hulk for two years.”
“I helped too you know.”
“Yeah but not as much as she did.” I shook my head softly chuckling.
“Yeah she—she always did like helping those who needed it. The stars seemed to have dimmed without her here.” There was silence before I finally stood up and turned to Banner. “Thank you for finding them for me Bruce.”
“You gonna be okay pal?” he asked me.
“Yeah, yeah I’ll be fine. I’ll be sure to keep in touch about how things are going.” I gave him a firm pat on the back before I took Storm breaker into my hands and flew off towards Norway.
When I got there, New Asgard was a small little town on the edge of some fishing docks where I saw the remaining few of my people all trying to rebuild our new home.  When they saw me, they bowed their heads but I didn’t acknowledge them.
“Hey Thor you’re alive!” up ahead I saw Korg, Meek and Valkyrie gathering up some kegs of beer. I walked up to them and hugged Korg (even though there was no emotion to said hug).
“Where’s (Y/n)?” asked Valkyrie.  I breathed heavily and asked her redirecting the question.
“How many of our people are left after the Statesman was attacked?” she looked at me skeptically but answered.
“We were just about to land our rescue ship when suddenly half of those that were saved turned to dust.” So even when half of the people managed to escape, they too were cut in half and Blipped away.  My sister’s escape plan for our people was in vain.
“Right well, you two continue doing what you were doing. I’m just going to uhh—” I took one of the kegs from Korg and walked off without another word.
I managed to find me a small cabin that hadn’t been claimed by anyone and decided that this would be my cabin from now on.  It was the furthest cabin than the rest of the village so thankfully no one should suddenly burst in on me.
I set the keg down before plopping myself down on the floor next to it.  I looked down at my wrist to see the old bracelet (Y/n) had made for me back when we were kids.  I took it off my right wrist and examined it.
It wasn’t much just made from the finest Asgardian thread and the jewels were of pure diamonds, rubies and a couple of emeralds.  In fact it was a sibling bracelet that she had made for all three of us. The ruby represented me, the emeralds were of Loki and she was the diamond.
I clenched it in my hand and raised it up ready to throw it as far as I could, hoping that it would be lost forever but something held me back.  My arm trembled before I brought the bracelet to my chest and held it over my heart as I felt tears falling down my face.
“I’m sorry (Y/n).” I wept.  “I’m so sorry little sister.” I continued to weep as the memories of my sister flashed through my mind like a film on constant repeat.
*1 month after The Blip*
I hadn’t really stepped out of my cabin since I had first claimed it.  I kept the windows shut and bolted, hardly any light really came into this cabin really.  Why should I deserve the light after my failure to kill Thanos? But I knew I had to step out because I had run out of beer from the keg I had taken a month ago.
So after restocking some more kegs, beer bottles, whiskey, tequila, whatever alcohol I could get my hands on at the time, I should be good for a couple of months or so, hopefully.  As I drank my fifth beer bottle a knock was heard at the door.
“Thor?” Valkyrie. “Thor come on open up it’s just me.”
“It’s unlocked as always.” I told her.  I heard the door open and she let out a cough.
“Geez what rolled up and died in here?”
“What are you doing here Valkyrie?” I asked her.
“Well our brewery ran out of whiskey and I figured only one person could be responsible for that so I came to collect some from you. Running this place is a lot harder than you think.” She said as she helped herself to some of my whiskey.
“Try dealing with keeping the peace of all nine realms on top of that.” I scoffed remembering after my first battle with the Avengers when I tried to keep the peace between the nine realms before father thought I was once again ready to take the throne.
“I can only imagine that. Definitely would take more than whiskey to take that hangover off.”
“Why have you really come Valkyrie?” she and I looked at each other and she said.
“To check on my friend who may I remind you hasn’t been outside in over a month except this past Tuesday to take most of our brewery.”
“I’ve told you as I have told everyone else, I’m fine.”
“Is that why you haven’t bathed in that time? No offense but you’re starting to smell worse than Sakaar.”
“Bathing is a lifestyle choice. If I choose the bathe or shower I will do so whenever I please.” She let out a heavy sigh.
“Thor, I know why you’re doing this.”
“No you don’t.”
“Yes I do.”
“No you don’t.”
“Yes I do. Did you honestly forget why I went to Sakaar in the first place?” I remained silent. “Drinking my own problems away because I lost all my sisters including the love of my life. Who sacrificed herself to save me. You’re not the only one who lost someone you love. Take it from me, drowning your sorrows can only do so much, eventually the call to action will find you and you’ll have no choice but to get off your ass and fight.”
“Thanos is already dead, but even killing him didn’t bring anyone back. Much less bring her back. What call to action will there be?” I said brokenly.
“How about instead of focusing on the broken past? You help your people? They need a king.”
“No one needs me.” I sat down in my chair and turned away from her as I grabbed an old bag of Doritos and ate whatever was left in the bag.  I heard Valkyrie let out a heavy sigh before she left my cabin slamming the door.
Leaving me once again alone in darkness and solitude.
*6 months after The Blip*
‘It has been six months since the Blip when an alien wiped out half of Earth’s population. World governments continue to find an equal consensus but with the world still grieving can we truly move on? Our team has tried to reach out to any remaining members of the Avengers who have all but seemed to disappear from the public eye. Tony Stark aka Ironman has…..’
“Korg you mind shutting that blasted thing off? I thought we were going to begin Fortnite?” I told him.
“Sorry Thor. Just so you know I didn’t turn the channel to the news, it was just on there. Earth seems to have nothing but bad news to tell.”
“Yeah that’s all they really have to say these days.”
“Earth news is depressing.”
“You don’t know the half of it.” I muttered.  As we got the gaming system started up, Korg told me.
“Speaking of, there were reporters that came over the other day wanting to talk to you about the battle you had with Thanos back in that Wakanda place.”
“Hopefully either you or Valkyrie told them to screw off and to never come back here again.”
“Valkyrie took care of them. And she even called them some very nasty things.”
“And another good reason to put her in charge.” I muttered.  As the menu opened up and we picked our avatars we proceeded with the game.
“Just asking out of pure curiosity Thor, will there be a time you come out that doesn’t imply you stealing half of the brewery’s supplies? We really do miss you out there.”
“Who wants to go out when there’s a whole lot to do in here? You can’t get all these video game time out there? And here you don’t have to pay for any alcohol. Sure the cable’s a bit of a pain in the ass but what more could you want right here?”
“It does sound like a load of fun and a huge convenience but at the same time you might probably be doing all of this due to the loss of your sister.” I rolled my eyes and blew a nonchalant raspberry.
“These are just life choices, I can go out whenever I want to for whatever reason I want. My sister—” I trailed off thinking about her.
Just what would she say in this moment? How would she even react to seeing me like this? Most likely she’d be disappointed, she never did like it when either Loki or I got into one of our ‘moods’ (whatever she means by that).  Felt like she had been stuck in the middle and having to be the problem solver out of the three of us.
But now she’s just—she’s gone.  In all honesty, I’m glad she’s not here to see me like this.  Like I said, she’d most likely be disappointed that I’ve shut everyone out and refuse to do anything to help rebuild our new home.
“My sister isn’t even here. So why even try to speak as if she’s still here?” Korg remained silent. I took a deep breath in before exhaling and spoke in a more optimistic manner (or at least tried to anyway. I just wanted this conversation to be done.)  “Now then, let’s hurry and beat this round before that little douchebag Noobmaster69 logs on.”
“Yeah. I still can’t believe he called me a dickhead.” Korg said as we continued to play our game long into the night and even until the next morning.
*1 year and 4 months after The Blip*
Today seemed so empty. Much more so than any other day because today should’ve been a day of remembrance, of birth, a milestone for Asgardian Gods. Today would’ve been (Y/n)’s birthday, but just any ordinary birthday.  Today she would’ve been 1500 years old.  The big 1500.
She could’ve participated on her first ever hunting party and claim a prized boar to be eaten at a feast worthy of Valhalla, music and dancers, and at the end of the night the very stars themselves would dance for her (all thanks to her powers).  But there will be no hunt, nor song in her name, for she was one of the many who Blipped away.
I did, however, ask Korg whenever he came up for our annual video game binge to bring up a cake that I knew (Y/n) would love.  She always had a weakness for sweet treats, especially when we first came to Earth after Loki tried to take the Tesseract.  Boy was that a wild time when she went on that sugar craze and Steve had to coax her down from it but she refused to surrender her candy to him.
“Hey Thor, Meek and I are here and we brought the cake like you asked of us.” Korg’s voice called out.
“Bring it in here my friends.” They came in and there it was.  A three layered chocolate cake with dipped chocolate strawberries.
“So Thor is this another one of your monthly big dessert binges?” asked Korg.
“Not for myself.” I answered as I went over and dug through the drawers until I found some old candles and put them on top of the cake.  “You know, today would’ve been (Y/n)’s 1500th birthday. A big milestone in Asgardian culture.”
“Really? Is 1000 not worthy?”
“It is but it’s the 1500th that’s even bigger. Compared to Earth I’d say it lines with one’s 16th birthday. Where Earth teens can drive legally and all that fun stuff, in Asgard, when a god turns 1500 they are honored to lead a hunting party to find and skewer a prized boar. To be eaten at a feast worthy of Valhalla itself. Oh I remember my 1500th birthday hunt so well, I made (Y/n) my lead scouter and she dreamed of the day of her birthday hunting party.”
“Oh I see. And your sister, she liked chocolate?”
“Probably one of the few things she loved about Earth. Oh Korg you should’ve seen it. The first time she tried chocolate, I thought her head was going to explode.”
“Thankfully it didn’t otherwise how can one function without a head?” Korg said.  I lit the candles up and stared at them for a bit before blowing them out in honor of my sister.
“Happy 1500th little sister. If only I could’ve done more.” I then blew them out in her stand before taking them off the cake.
“She would’ve been happy either way Thor. Hunting party or no hunting party, she would’ve loved it either way.”
“You speak as thought my sister is still here.”
“She is. In a way. Though she is not here physically, she is all around us. Being the goddess of the stars, it’s like she’s still watching over us every night. At least that’s what the Earthlings say about her in their stories, right?” I shook my head chuckling icily.
“I appreciate the words of comfort Korg, but we all know the real truth. She’s gone, and there’s no way of bringing her back. And it’s all my fault.”
“Thor—”
“Sorry Korg, guess I don’t feel much like Fortnite tonight, sorry.” I started to walk off but I grabbed (Y/n)’s cake and left my cabin.
It was now nightfall and I had been standing looking over the cliff’s and the sea ahead.  I was at the last piece of my sister’s cake and I looked up at the stars that didn’t seem to shine as brightly as they used to. My heart felt heavy and tears built into my eyes and I wept.
“I’m sorry I couldn’t do more for you little sister. For anyone. It’s all because of me. It’s my fault. It’s my fault!” I stayed there for the rest of the night weeping under the very stars my sister once made shine.
Time just went by in a blur.  In fact time was irrelevant to me.  Only when I needed supplies like more alcohol did I ever show my face to my people. Valkyrie was proving to be a better King than I, I mean how can a King rule his people when he couldn’t even protect them? Let alone his own sister?
I was just—drifting at this point.  The only times I felt even the slightest bit of joy was video game nights with Korg and Meek.  Life may continue on, but I will always be burdened with the weight of my greatest failure and nothing was ever going to get me out of it.

Y/N is a skilled S.H.I.E.L.D. agent tasked with locating Bucky and bringing him back to the Avengers compound.
Warnings: none? I think??
Word Count: 1460
A/N: Before yall read this please go read pt. 1, I added the link, hopefully, it works. if not it should be the last post on my page. I'll do a part 3 if this gets enough attention, I don't wanna be writing a series if no one reading it lmao, but I will be uploading more :) (not proof read whatsoever, praying it makes sense lmao)
Tumblr media
As you boarded the plane later that night, you couldn't help but feel a mix of excitement and nervousness. The thought of meeting Bucky Barnes, a legendary figure known for his heroic acts during World War II and then as the Winter Soldier, both thrilled and intimidated you. However, your determination to help Steve and bring Bucky back overpowered any doubts you had.
During the flight, you couldn't shake off the feeling that something significant was about to happen. The weight of the mission weighed heavily on your mind. You decided to take a nap, trying to conserve your energy for the upcoming task ahead.
When you landed in Vancouver, you followed Steve's instructions and found the bag he mentioned hidden in a bathroom stall. You retrieved the burner phone and the car keys, feeling a little like a spy on a covert mission. You took a moment to call Steve, updating him on your arrival and reassuring him that you were ready to proceed.
As you drove toward the small town where Bucky was supposedly spotted, you couldn't help but think about the super soldier himself. You knew his history, his struggles, and the brainwashing he endured as the Winter Soldier. You wondered how you could possibly convince him to come back with you, especially when he had evaded everyone else, including Steve.
Arriving in the town, you checked out the safe house Steve had provided. It was a modest, inconspicuous place, perfect for lying low. You decided to rest for a few hours before starting your search for Bucky in the morning.
The next day, you set out to gather any information about Bucky's whereabouts. You talked to locals, showing them a picture of him discreetly to avoid drawing unnecessary attention. People seemed wary, reluctant to share any information. It was clear that Bucky had left an impression on this small community, and they weren't willing to betray him.
As the days passed, you remained persistent, following every lead, no matter how small. You sensed that someone was watching you, monitoring your every move. It was likely that Bucky knew someone was after him, and he was staying one step ahead.
One evening, as you returned to the safe house, you noticed a figure waiting outside. Your instincts kicked in, and you approached cautiously, prepared for anything. To your surprise, it was Natasha standing there.
"Nat! What are you doing here?" You were relieved to see her, knowing that her skills and experience could be valuable to you on the mission.
"I've been keeping an eye on you. Steve was concerned about sending you alone, so he asked me to watch your back," she said with a reassuring smile.
"Thank goodness. I could use some backup," you admitted, feeling relieved to have Natasha by your side.
The two of you formed a plan together, combining your resources and skills to track down Bucky. Natasha's expertise in espionage and infiltration, coupled with your combat and investigative skills, made for a formidable team.
As days turned into weeks, the chase intensified, leading you from one location to another, following any lead, no matter how faint. Along the way, you encountered dangerous situations, faced adversaries, and even discovered remnants of Bucky's past, which provided valuable insight into his state of mind.
As you got closer to Bucky, you couldn't help but empathize with him. The burden he carried, the remorse he felt for his actions as the Winter Soldier weighed heavily on his conscience. It became clear that convincing him to return was not just a matter of force but one of understanding and compassion.
Finally, after an intense cat-and-mouse game, you found Bucky in an isolated cabin deep in the wilderness. As you cautiously approached him, you could sense his hesitancy, his guard up. But you also saw a glimmer of hope in his eyes, a spark of humanity that you couldn't ignore.
You shared Steve's message with Bucky, appealing to his sense of loyalty and the possibility of redemption. You acknowledged his past, the pain he endured, and the person he could become if he chose a different path. Natasha's presence also played a significant role, her bond with Steve and her own transformation from an assassin to an Avenger resonated with Bucky.
"Bucky please, I know you don't want to live this life, a lonely life of living in the woods cutting off everyone around you. Come back with us, I promise things will be different, Steve is waiting for you." You never broke eye contact with him, fearing that if you took your eyes off him for even a second he'd flee and you'd never see him again.
"I can't, no one trusts me after what I've done, I mean why would they? the things I've done.. I mean they're unforgivable. You guys should just leave me here. I'm happy being alone." You could tell that Bucky didn't want to be alone he just didn't want to accept anyone's help. You sighed and glanced at Nat for help.
"Bucky no one blames you for what happened in the past, we can overcome those things and build you a better reputation. People just need to see the real you, the caring Bucky that Steve told us so much about." Nat always knew the right thing to say, Bucky looked at the ground as his shoulders hunched down and he fell to his knees.
You were stuck in the same spot you started in, not sure whether you should run over and help him or give him his privacy, Nat looked over at you and signaled you to go over. It took you a brief moment to gain the courage to walk over to him but once you did you could hear the soft sniffles and light breathing coming from him. He was crying. The Winter Soldier was crying right in front of your eyes, you never thought you'd see the day.
"Hey Buck, come back to the safe house with us, you can stay with us for the night and we'll leave for the compound in the morning, you should rest. I'm so sorry that you've had to go through this but we're here now, the Avengers are like family and Steve can't wait to see you." Bucky looked up at you and nodded his head, he looked utterly defeated, too tired and exhausted to speak.
You, Natasha, and Bucky returned to the safe house. You set up the bed for Bucky and decided that you and Nat could take turns sleeping on the couch. After leaving Bucky you returned back to the living room and plopped down onto the couch.
"I can't believe we finally did it, it feels like a dream. I can't wait to tell Cap he's gonna be excited!" You exclaimed while looking for your burner phone that Steve gave you months ago.
"Don't worry about it kid, I told him already, he's already making up a room for Bucky at the compound. I didn't think about waiting for you to tell him, sorry about that. But hey, on the plus side he did say he was proud of you, who knows, maybe you'll even get promoted." Nat said while getting comfortable on the couch. "You mind if I sleep first? I'm exhausted?" She asked while her eyes drifted shut. You didn't get the chance to reply before she was letting out soft snores.
And so, Bucky Barnes, the Winter Soldier, returned with you and Natasha to the Avengers' headquarters. The reunion with Steve was both emotional and heartwarming. You could see the weight lifted off his shoulders, knowing that his friend was back and that he hadn't given up on him.
"Buck you have no idea how much I've missed you, you should've never run off, I lost you once I can't do it again." Steve's eyes started to tear up as he hugged his best friend.
Bucky hugged Steve in a tight grip, almost as if he couldn't believe he was actually here hugging his best friend. "I'm here now Steve, and I'm not going anywhere." Bucky's eyes were squished shut as he held onto Steve.
Little did you know that this was just the beginning of a series of extraordinary adventures that awaited you as a vital member of the Avengers team. The journey ahead was filled with challenges, victories, and personal growth, but you were ready for whatever came your way, thanks to the trust and support of your newfound family.
And so, the next chapter of your life as a superhero and an Avenger began, as you faced the ever-changing world, always ready to protect and serve, no matter the odds.
The End... or rather, the Beginning.

I Will Find You
Tumblr media
Several months ago, when Loki used to sit unchallenged on the throne of Asgard, he had described to her, in confidence, the ruthlessness of Thanos's ambitions, the extent to which this Titan could go in order to fulfill his dreams.

Quiet (Bucky Barnes x Reader)
Tumblr media
(Gif Not Mine)
Summary: You are a clairvoyant and have a horrible vision of Bucky’s death during the snap. Bucky is there to calm you down but you fear that this vision might just come true. (Gender Neutral Reader) Word Count: 1,372 Warnings: Nightmares, Referenced Character Death/ Character Death in a Dream, Mild Violence, Spontaneous Marriage Proposal, No Use of Y/N, Petnames (Doll, Love) Crossposted on AO3: https://archiveofourown.org/works/20083009
--- Everything went quiet.
Then suddenly, noises started to break through the silence as people began to call out to one another and exclaim their terror. You turned your head and saw people slowly starting to turn to dust.
The first thing you did was look for Bucky. Once you’ve spotted him you ran over to him, falling into his arms. “Bucky, what is happening?”
“He won.” Bucky whispered softly. “Half of the universe is going to turn to dust.”
You closed your eyes in fear, holding onto Bucky tightly. Bucky slowly moved his hands to your back and held you. You stood like this for a few seconds before you heard the man gasp.
In absolute horror, you looked up to see that Bucky was turning to dust right between your fingers. The love of your life was turning to dust right in front of your very eyes and there was nothing in all of the universe that you could do.
“Bucky, please.” You whispered, tears in your eyes. “This can’t be happening!”
“Love, you will be fine.” He said quietly as you watched his arms turn to dust. “Don’t be afraid. You will be fine.”
Those were the last worst you heard him say because just after that he turned to dust completely. In a panic, you tried to grasp the dust. You didn’t know why but you just felt like you had to hold onto some part of him, if only a speck of dust. Tears ran down your cheeks as you tried but failed to catch the remnants of Bucky, the wind blowing them away.
“No!” You wailed, falling to your knees. “No, please so.”
Someone called out your name and when you turned Steve was at your side. “Is Bucky--”
“Yes!” You sobbed out, nodding your head. “I was holding him a second ago and now-- now he is gone!”
Steve did his best to comfort you, despite his own grief. He was mourning his friends and you knew it but you were thankful for him trying to be there for you, so you simply leaned into his side. It was a small comfort to know that you still had some of your friends left and that they actually cared about you.
But in all honesty, nothing really mattered anymore. Bucky was gone.
---
Your head shot up and you blinked a few times. Bucky was looking at you in shock from where he was sitting in his hut. You were currently visiting him in Wakanda and apparently, the two of you had just eaten dinner when your vision had hit you.
“Love, are you with me again? You were gone there for a second.”
“Yes, I’m sorry. I--”
“Did you have a vision?” He asked quietly. “What about?”
"I don't want to say it."
"Saying it won't make it come true, Doll."
“He won and everyone turned to dust.” You whispered, swallowing against the lump in your throat. “Even you.”
“Alright, doll.” Bucky sat down right next to you. “Listen to me now. That may have been one possible future but every choice we make can change that.”
“Really?”
“We’ll defeat him.” Bucky said quietly. “I’m just wondering when Steve is gonna be here.”
“Me, too. I just hope that we can help him. and the others.”
“I hope so, too.” Bucky looked at you. “Doll, can you promise me that you will look out for yourself first and foremost?”
“I can try but if he as much as looks at you the wrong way, I will not hesitate to attack him.” You shook your head. “Not after-- I can’t leave you alone after what I saw in my vision.”
“What exactly happened?”
Tears sprung to your eyes and you shut them tightly. It didn’t stop the tears from flowing but it stopped you from seeing Bucky’s reaction. “We were fighting his army and he wasn't really around. I don’t know where he was but he won. And then suddenly everyone disappeared. I held you so tightly but you disappeared.”
Bucky nodded, listening to you carefully before inching closer and putting his hand on your shoulder. “Love, we will all be fine. So many good, capable people are joining us in the fight.”
“He has an army.”
“We have one, too.”
“How can you be so sure that we'll be fine?” You sobbed out. “You’re not a clairvoyant, are you?”
“No, but I’m trying to be an optimist.” He said quietly, reaching out to take your hand. “You trust me, don’t you, Doll?”
“Yes, of course, Sweetheart.” You swallowed thickly. “It was just so horrible. Everything went quiet and at that moment in my vision I knew he had won, I knew that something was off. I cannot bear to see you all go. And most of all I cannot bear to see you go.”
“I won’t go. Not now and not ever.”
“Promise?”
“I promise.” He then chuckled softly, trying to cheer you up. “After all, if I was gone who would try to keep you in check? I swear you’re just as bad as Steve, so neither of you can be trusted to keep the other out of trouble.”
You couldn't help but laugh at that and when you saw his proud expression at making you laugh a smile overtook your features.
“I’m glad to have you, Bucky.”
---
The battle was in full action and you were dodging knives and bullets left and right. You had never been a fighter but you knew how to defend yourself and you intended to make use of that knowledge. Of course, you weren’t a god, an assassin, or a superhero in high-tech armour but you knew a thing or two about how to fight.
You rammed your dagger into another man’s heart, pulling back and grunting in exhaustion. You spared a look at Bucky and swallowed. He seemed bad off, trying to fight back an avalanche of attackers.
Without a second thought, you ran over to him and helped him out. He looked at you in shock, obviously not happy about you fighting off this storm of bad guys with him. But you didn’t care. If you were to die trying to protect him, so be it.
As you sliced the head of another person, Bucky spoke up. “You know, I always loved how despite your powers being so passive, you chose to fight back instead of doing nothing.”
“I know what’s right and I will fight for it.” You kicked a woman off of you. “And what he’s trying to do is not right.”
“Love, once all of this is over, would you stay with me?” Bucky asked you as he shot two people before they could attack you. "Would you stay by my side?"
“Thanks.” You gasped out as you dodged another bullet. “I would love to stay with you. I always dreamed of spending my life with you.”
“Then we should do that. We should spend our life together. No one knows what the future brings and I want to face it with you.” He gave you a small smile while he continued to fight. “We should make that official.”
“James Buchanan Barnes, are you proposing to me in the middle of slicing through aliens?”
“It’s as good a time as any, Doll.” He joked, shooting someone that came to attack you. “I love you and you love me. We should make it official. But I could always do something more romantic if you want me to.”
“No.” You chuckled softly. “This is as perfect as it gets. As long as I get to be with you, nothing else matters.”
“Funny, I was just thinking the same thing.” He smiled a little, turning his head to you for a second. “Now go and help the others. I’ll be fine.”
You gave him one last smile and then headed off. Just as you were about to stab a man who was attacking Clint, you stopped in your tracks. Something was wrong. Something was very wrong. It took you a second to realise what was so off but when you did, your heart dropped.
The noises of battle had vanished. There was only one thing you heard.
Quiet.
